exactly one person asked and I don’t care about the rest of y’all’s opinions so. I think duck team is probably the naddpod crew most ready for full polyculedom for a lot of reasons, but one of the major ones is that in this campaign our whole cast of characters are both self sufficient and extremely susceptible to approval and validation, as discussed in my previous post about all naddpod parties being outsiders! and this means that all of them could very much use the love and acceptance of a group polycule and are in fact already full speed ahead into it (see sol and Calder fully ready to murder a bot for not calling Callie a 10), but at the same time are not so reliant on it that it prevents them from taking risks within their relationships. also: they’ve all struck a specific combination that makes them very good at sharing each other, since they’re so ready and willing with the reassurances and aren’t so reliant on each other that they would see other partners as a threat. all that being said I should clarify: this does not mean a duck team polycule would be drama free. a duck team polycule would be non stop overblown drama and they would all love every single minute of it bc they’re insane and that’s why I NEED them to all start dating. do you see my vision here

Chapter 7: You Can't Escape Your Fears

Summary: A few months after the events of WOTFI 2023, SMG4 starts having really bad dreams about the "Its gotta be perfect" incident. One night however, his fear allows the nightmares to break through and he gets taken to a horrific dimension. He finally meets the tv adware, who manipulates him into returning to his insane ways, intent on claiming much more than the perfect video. Now it's up to his friends to stop this madness and save SMG4. Can they do it in time or will they lose SMG4 forever? (In case you are unaware this is a sequel to the its gotta be perfect movie)

Saiko was putting on a rock concert for all the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom. She thought she was doing well until the crowd started to turn on her. A chanting of booing came from the crowd and they all shouted mean insults.

"You suck!"

"I wasted my time on this!?"

"You'll never become a rockstar!"

Saiko could feel her fear overcome her until someone jumped onto the stage. "Saiko! It's not real!" Three had come to save her along with One and Two. "No! Look at this! I'll never achieve my dream of being a famous rockstar!" One tried to persuade her that this was all fake. "This is all just a nightmare. See?" Saiko turned to see how the crowd had a shadowy look to it. Of course! The mist of nightmares. "My fear is what's causing this?" Gaining back her confidence, Saiko picked up her guitar and shouted "I AM NOT AFRAID OF YOU MONSTERS!!!" She had escaped the smoke and was back with the other three.

Mario was despairing as the world had run out of spaghetti. Three came crashing through the door and yelled "Mario snap out of it! It's just a nightmare!" He was still shaking as he said through his tears "But...Mario will never be with his true love again..." Saiko used her hammer to slam through. "Wake up Mario! We need your help!" He remembered how much he loved his friends and how he really wanted to save Smg4. He stood up and screamed "You think you can scare Mario with your dumb tricks. Well guess what? Mario is strong and he will not let you control him!" The scene faded away as he hugged his friends and thanked them for saving him.

Tari was surrounded by hundreds of angry ducks. "I'm sorry. I never wanted to hurt you all. I just love you so much." The ducks didn't listen as they inched closer. Mario hurdled into the room with a gun and said "Freeze!" Three came up behind him with Saiko and said "Tari those ducks are stupid fakers!" Mario grabbed one and shook it with all his might. "FAKER!" Tari was still panicked induced as she still defended her "little friends." "No. They are just scared. I should have treated them better." Saiko pulled out her hammer as the ducks attacked her. "Look around Tari! This is just the work of the nightmare mist!" Tari gasped as she said "How could they?"

Bob was trying to be a successful rapper, but nobody supported him. All the friends that he had made over the years went back to their old ways of rejecting him and pushing him aside. Even Birdo didn't think he was cool anymore. He was about to give up when he heard clapping in the distance. Mario was supporting Bob and the others had came to get him. "This is just a nightmare Bob!" Saiko questionably said "Your worst fear is being rejected from rapping?" Bob tried to deny it. "NO." Saiko then knew what to do to snap him out of his nightmares. "Then prove it." Bob took his microphone and smashed it on the ground. "SHUT UP! I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK!"

Melony's nightmare was taking a huge hit on her. She had failed to rescue Axol and now she was all alone. Zer0 had won and killed all of her friends. Just then a huge team of heroes stepped in to fight the eldritch monster. "Melony help us!" Tari called out as she looked up from her tears. "B-b-but Axol i-i-is..." Saiko sighed and said "I know. But we defeated Zer0 and we can defeat this nightmare as well." Melony rubbed her tears and inquired "This is a nightmare?" She turned to the huge creature and remembered how she saved all her friends in 2021 and 2022. That filled her with determination, as she pulled out her sword and ended the life of this bad dream.

Luigi was running his successful flower shop until he got terrible news that it was being shut down forever. He curled up into a ball on the ground and started crying. "Luigi!" He looked up to see who that familiar voice belonged to. "Wake up!" shouted Mario as he kept slapping his brother on the face. "What about my flower shop?" Tari stood in a confident pose and told him "Remember when Meggy coached us. Don't let her or your friends down. I faced my fears and so can you!" Luigi remembered Meggy's final assignment as a flashback of her giving him a thumbs up was playing and Boopkins was dressed in her beanie and headphones. He got up with a determined face and yelled "You're just a stupid nightmare! You don't scare me!"

Boopkins was crying while holding a picture of him and JubJub. Bob burst in and said "LET'S GO BOOPKINS!" He turned and said "I failed on protecting my brother. I'll never see him again." Bob rolled his eyes and said "BEING SAD ISN'T AN EXCUSE! GET A MOVE ON!" Boopkins wiped tears from his eyes. "THIS IS A NIGHTMARE!" Boopkins looked around and realized that it was. JubJub was back home and safe. Boopkins threw his arms in the air and yelled "I am not afraid!" Bob watched and then turned to the camera. "DANG BOB. YOU'RE A NATURAL."

There was only one person left...

Meggy had lost the big game of splatfest. The crowd was yelling in disbelief and Desti looked at her. "You promised to win splatfest for me." One Shot Wren shook his head and said "I expected better things from you kid." She held her head in her hands and whispered "I tried. I really did try." Her friends came running into the stadium. "Meggy snap out of it! It's only your fear!" Three tried to call out to her, but the opposing team started shooting them with their splatshots. While they all tried to avoid it, Three said to them "You distract them while I try to save Meggy." Bob immediately pulled out his grenade launcher and says "NOW YOU'LL SEE HOW A TRUE ATHLETE DOES IT!" Three slipped through the crowd up to Meggy, but the nightmare versions of Desti and Wren stopped him.

They tried to punch and kick him, so he thew them off the ledge. "Get out of here you stupid nightmare creatures." He ran up to her and tried to snap her out of it. "Meggy let's go now!" Her eyes were still full of tears as she whimpered "I lost. I'm a failure. I deserve this..." Three stopped in his tracks when he heard what Meggy said. "Believe me, I know how that feels." Three mumbled as Meggy looked up. "All those times I was lost in thought, it was about Four. My worst fear is that I failed to protect him and he died because of me." Meggy didn't move an inch.

"I just don't want to lose him...or you." He looks towards the ground, but then feels a warm embrace. Meggy hugs him and says "Thank you Three. I don't want to lose you either." He smiles and puts his arms around her as well. After a few seconds he pushes Meggy away from him and reverts back to his tsundere behavior. "Okay that's enough. Give me some space squid." She giggles and looks down to see that the rest of her friends are in trouble. She grabs her splatshot and fires at all the inklings. Once she defeats them, the scene melts away and they all find themselves back in the Nightmare realm.

They weren't alone as the icky creatures were surrounding them. "Ooooo very scary goop." Mario said, wriggling his fingers. They then see a man with a tv head come out of the shadows. "But some of you still are." He said as he directed his attention to Three. "Isn't that right Smg3?" He backed up, but didn't let his guard down. "I won't believe your dirty lies." The smile on the screen did not fade away. It actually got a bit wider. "But there is something you fear. If you surrender, I might be willing to spare your little friends."

An uneasy expression went across his face as the TV Adware continued. "After all they have done for you, this is how you repay them? Taking Smg4 away from them?" Darkness crept closer as Three yelled out in a state of defeat "No! They did nothing wrong! I'm the one who deserves this! I will-" He was about to make a deal with the Adware till Meggy stopped him. "NO! Smg3, you're our friend and you aren't going anywhere. Nobody blames you for what happened."

He stops in shock. "I'm your friend?" They all nodded. "Of course! Mario loves you!" Tari took a gentle approach. "And we know we can trust you." The TV Adware backed up and said in a slick voice "Well I see you have some real friends. Those who would do anything for you."

"This is your last chance. Before they see what you let happen." The others were confused, but Three knew what he meant. "You wouldn't dare..." Only Meggy, Mario, and Three saw their corrupted friend from the inside. Everyone else had taken on the goop outside.

The Adware chuckled and said "Well it seems we are not able to make an...arrangement. Don't worry though. I came prepared. I will get the kingdom I so desperately deserve."

A pink light started to shine through as a figure came up behind him. The creature had pink cracks on his face, his clothes were dirty, and his eyes looked desperately strained. When he was seen clearly in the light, everyone gasped in shock as they all said the same thing. "SMG4!?"

"Now you will all be destroyed and the Mushroom Kingdom will be defenseless! Meet my new friend...NIGHTMARE FOUR!!!"

The Boys is the main one; I loved it since it came out back in 2019. I moved on sometime after S3 ended and I found another hyperfixation but now new content is coming out with S4 so I’m back on my The Boys bullshit. I’m a Butchlander shipper, BILLY BUTCHER AND HOMELANDER CONSUME MY THOUGHTS. I AM BEYOND OBSESSED WITH THOSE TWO! I need them to kiss…. And-and more. Anthony Starr and Karl Urban are my current celebrity crushes that I’m only able to think about. If you follow me in insta it’s just been The Boys 24/7 that I’ve talked about since new content started dropping thanks to S4. HOMELANDER IS MY BABYGIRL I WILL DEFEND HIM I DON’T CARE FOR HIS CRIMES I DON’T CARE IF I’M SUPPOSE TO HATE HIM, I LOVE HIM. BILLY BUTCHER MY GOTH BOYFRIEND I WILL DIE IF YOU DIE. HE CANT DIE, HE JUST CAN’T. S4 teaser was insane, so much was going on, Black Noir is back?! And Jeffrey Dean Morgan is joining the cast! AND TEAMING UP WITH BUTCHER?! They said that trailer was just a scratch on the surface of what happens, wasn’t even a trailer just a teaser but it had so much going on WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT’T JUST A SMALL TASTE OF S4?! I’m scared but excited. I’m nervous but excited (Billy if you fucking die on me- that’s what I’m most worried about)

Invincible is my other current hyperfixation, S1 was so good and I can’t wait for S2 to continue. They should’ve dropped all the episodes at once that way I don’t have to wait but whatever. Vigilante is my little meow meow from Peacemaker. I love Adrian so much, hate that I gotta wait till like 2025-2026 for S2 possibly.

My other interests that I talk about all the time (not currently much though thanks to The Boys) are:

Night at The Museum came out when I was 7, I’m 24 now, I haven’t moved on. It was my first hyperfixation and ship before I even knew what that all meant. I’ve written like 30 JedTavius fics. I’m a Venom fan first and a Spider-Man hater second. I will defend Venom at all times and Eddie and him are definitely in love. When the FNAF film came out it brought me back to my FNAF phase, Foxy’s my favourite with Bonnie being second. I watched the film about 20 times. Then in November I started a personal rewatch challenge on Insta where I watched it all month long. Meaning I’ve probably watched it at least 50 times and I still haven’t gotten sick of it (also I love the Josh Hutcherson whistle meme. I don’t care how much people hate it I think it’s funny.) I’m a huge Marvel fan, I literally grew up with the comics, I’m not kidding those were read to me as my bedtime stories. My favourite characters are Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes as a result I ship them. I never shipped Stucky, that never made sense to me whilst Sam and Bucky have so much chemistry. Sam Wilson is everything to me, I adore SamCap he’s MY Captain America (still love Steve though!) Roger Rabbit is my favourite fictional character of all time, my biggest comfort character. Growing up I really tried to base my personality off of him, the world might be obsessed with Jessica Rabbit but I’m obsessed with Roger. People need to draw, edit, and cosplay him as much as they do Jessica. I’ve been a huge Simpsons fan since I was like 10 and my mother dropped me off at my aunts house and she left leaving me alone with my cousin who was watching The Simpsons and it took off from there. Nelson Muntz is my funky little son and they need to make Nelisa canon. Maleficent is my favourite Disney character (actually like quite a bit of Disney, second favourite character being Donald Duck) I based a lot of my style around her, and I have a lot of Maleficent collectibles. I absolutely love the Angelina Jolie’s Maleficent films (totally ship her with Diaval).

There’s a few other things that I really, really love. I’m also a huge horror fan my favourite being Chucky/Child’s Play as well as Killer Klowns from Outer Space, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (not 3D), Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, etc. Sanrio, Kuromi is my favourite second is Pochacco, I really love animated films and cartoons. IT, Monster High, and more. I’m also a collector of all these things.

So there you have it. Those are all my hyperfixation and fandom’s that I’m in. Right now especially those first 3 that I talked about (seriously can you tell I really like The Boys? Lol)

Honestly this all star roster is the reason I think fan voting shouldn’t exist or should at least have a limited number of players per team that could join. There’s no way 9 players being from only two diff teams is fair. And who tf voted for georgiev!!!!

I am all in for the fan voting because the results usually reflect, who the fans want to see there outside of those, who had already been chosen by the league, but for heaven's sake, make limitations on how many players from each team can come.

As hot as Vancouver is this year, no one (outside of the Canucks fans) wants to see five of them there. Why are we filling five damn spots with players from a team that is nowhere near the most popular in the league? Why are we filling five spots with one team, to begin with?

I can, to a certain point, understand why there are four Maple Leafs since it is going to be held in Toronto (as much as I love him, I don't understand why Morgan was the 4th one "voted in"), but there should be maximum of three players representing a single team, no more than that.

If it was up to me - choosing those 44 players out of 32 teams, those eight allowed goalies are in italics:

Anaheim Ducks - Vatrano and Dostal

Vatrano leads the Ducks in points, it's understandable, and Dostal deserves it for the insane performances he has been putting out lately.

Arizona Coyotes - Ingram and Keller

Another goalie, whose success the league and fans ignore.

Boston Bruins - Pastrnak, Marchand, and Swayman

This trio has everything - character, skill, popularity. Like Marchand or not, you have to admit that the content he creates for the camera is elite. Exactly what an All-Star Game needs.

And also, let's have the Toronto crowd go nuts because of three lone Bruins.

(duck) THOUGHTS!! THOUGHTS ON EPISODE 10-11!! NOW!! I AM SHAKING YOU VIOLENTLY PLEASE TELL ME

OHOGHGOH MY GOSH OK OK OK you know how funny it was for like 2 days straight after we FINALLY caught up i just kept saying "i have to go write out my thoughts on drdt and feed my anons (mostly with you in mind)" every few hours with nothing but "i thought you already did that??" in response, cue me being like "no but like for real this time"

I also give my best wishes to the creator of DRDT, you've given us such a fun story with fun characters and I hope you the best on recovering, resting, and focusing on yourself. If we never get another episode that is a-ok, I'll be very sad but only because I truly appreciate the art and writing for a wonderful story that you've given to us all for FREE. Thank you for that<3 For clarity and reference, this whole ramble is written with the intention/presumption that we will get more chapters, though I'm not getting my hopes up

Ok so first of all, I'll say what everyone's really here for:

Sorry, I personally fucking LOVED the twist, no significant complaints with it; it's a character trope I ADORE and more than I ever could've asked for to come from such a blorbo as David

Sorry, yes, I am also unfortunately down bad for him, HOWEVER-

Extremely happy that David wasn't the killer because we get to see more of this little freak in action in the next chapter, I can't even tell you how excited I am for his character omgomgomgomg I love horrible fucked up manipulative freaks so much. I also don't blame anyone for not enjoying his character anymore (especially if you liked the trope of his preconceived notion of a character) but like, me personally I can appreciate any character no matter the morals (the less the better imo) as long as they're written in an interesting and compelling way.

The way David is so horrendously straight-forward about everyone else just being a funny little pawn to him with absolutely no remorse (genuinely hope he never gains any empathy or I'll be a little upset ngl (well…depends on how it's done I GUESS!!)) makes his seemingly multi-layered character into….. something one-dimensional (/pos /GEN!!! one-dimensional is NOT a bad thing if it's a cool dimension that causes fun character conflicts) but the WAY they introduce this static ruthlessness to him is just;;;; CHEFS KISS. He's still a layered character, sure, two-faced freak running the long con, but his true self is just so reprehensibly remorseless it's hard to see ANYTHING under it

We were also both dying of laughter in the first episode how David had a really long horribly winded speech about fucking,,,,,,God knows what,,,, And no one acknowledged it and me n my bestie were just fucking whale eyeing each other like "SO IS NO ONE GONNA TALK ABOUT THAT? WE'RE JUST GONNA STEAMROLL RIGHT OVER HIS MINI PSYCHOTIC BREAK? OK" Not to be salty but GUYS.. Anyone who genuinely believed David was a good person and were shocked with the twist I…I'm sorry …… I'm sorry that we did not watch the same character introduction …. I've been on team two-faced David from the start that's my manipulate mansplain manwhore right there, babe! If you don't love him at his X you don't deserve him at his Y

Erm erm erm also thought it was hilarious when David was droning on after his big real reveal because, even though I was having a great time with it, I was also just repeatedly muttering "the fish…..?" looking around like the john travolta gif "the fish? the fish? guys, the fish? can we talk about the fish? im dying to talk about the fish" AHGHGAGAHA AND JUST GETTING SO FRUSTRATED WHEN EVERYONE FINALLY BROUGHT UP THE FISH AND WERE LIKE "OH EM GEE THE LIAR IS LYING ABOUT KILLING AREI??? DAS SO CRWAZY" Old school Danganronpa feeling of screaming at the characters denseness, so nostalgic, I DID ENJOY IT, IT WAS FUNNY, I HAD A GOOD TIME HAHA I loooove characters who lie for no good reason only to benefit themselves and have a good time while others suffer (Kokichi doesn't count + I don't like him (also stop comparing David to Kokichi you guys are insane and don't understand character nuance SOWWY))

My apologies I'm still like keeling off [MULTIPLE SUBSTANCES OF VARYING LEGALITY] so DON'T tell me if this is incomprehensible or not because I'm speaking straight from the heart and the heart says I won't him. This reminds me that for the entire time he was having his MAIN psychotic break (especially in the animation) my best friend wouldn't stop fucking muttering in distress "I WANT HIM I WANT HIM I WANT HIM" I had to tell him to shut the fuck up even though I was also internally very much not normal. We should both be shot.

Still think David and Hu should kiss. I think now more than ever they should kiss. Maybe make out.

Actually do you know how many times I said "Shut up, Hu." during these two episodes?? It was at least 5 I was getting SO mad at her for like no good reason, I don't even remember WHY exactly but I think her mom friend energy was getting TOO motherly and I'm no longer appreciating the particular WAY she mothers people, i.e. picking favorites + taking accountability for said favorites + defending them blindly and naively but in weirdly elitist way etc etc etc.. Very typical of Snellyfish to ship toxic men with female characters they don't like. Maybe I should look into my soul for this one, doesn't seem like,,,healthy, or something. I'll write my own callout post for me on that one dw.

Also I'm not necessarily saying Hu has bad writing or a wholly unlikeable personality at all btw, I am interested to know Why she's like that, I just gotta get over the hill of disliking her rn. Uber sweetie characters like that can just get on my nerves is all. She's also definitely got the secret motive for having multiple Attempts, huh? Give us your backstory queen,,,, I promise to like you a little more if you can bring a lil tear or two to my eye,,,,,,, I think my main thing with her is that she's like the most NORMAL of the group LMFAO

Arturo backstory real??? Arturo's breakdown about his sister and how it's not his fault?? Not your fault in what way? I was also incredibly normal when he straight up pulled a scalpel on Eden Kai Satou style, really really sane I didn't make monkey sounds or ANything like that, you guys. trust me.

In general I try not to give too hard of a time on DRDT's writing because it's like,, a passion project, obviously not professionally done, just a happy little writer writing their happy little characters AND I APPRECIATE AND RELATE TO YALL SO MUCH FOR THAT;; But I do have to finally properly mention how I frequently face the problem of a very consistent flow of characters being very straightforward, telling instead of showing, and making things just very awkward seeming? I bring this up mostly because of the Eden/Arei scene. Don't get me wrong I LOVE that dynamic and I LOVE what could've been between them in their friendship (🌈?) but I also wish that they didn't write Arei to so boldly claim like "I've been a manipulative bitch" or something like that, I guess I just don't feel that it's the kind of thing someone (especially like her, even with her breakdown-breakthru with David) would be able to articulate so clearly, and accept so honestly in such a short timeframe; I dunno. I've felt this way with a lot of dialogue even just in the prologue/introductions sections, wherein characters speak like they're Just Characters and know exactly how to word things like robots and just don't speak like Real people half the time. Whateva. That's my nitpick. I definitely think the dialogue has gotten better but the Arei thing ticked me off, but, I think her self-awareness might just be a crucial part of her character I'm not picking up on enough so,,,,augh, might just be me, honestly! I'm not the greatest writer myself so 🙏 feh!

Can't wait to figure out if I ship Arturo and J or not. Feel insane about it. Every time they talk I'm like DO I??? DO I SHIP IT??????? LOOKS AROUND AT THE AUDIENCE

The amount of times they would bicker and I'd say "I'm sick of this drama." and then strategically zone out in self-defense was kind of funny. ACE DEFINITELY HAD SOME REALLY GOOD PARTS IN THESE EPISODES OUTSIDE OF THAT THOUGH GHGHHG HE KEEPS ME HOOKED, THAT DAMNED SMILE, as a chihuahua lover myself I can never stray too far from Ace's light, he's so fucking funny and I love his dynamic with David-- oh no, I love his dynamic with David........... Looks at my palms.

As always: Charles<3 I have such a funny relationship with him because it's like, he's not one of my top favs by any means, doesn't stand out the most for my particular taste, but I also have literally no reason to dislike him and he's just written GOOD, so whenever he shows up and has a nice scene or a nice line I just go "ah,,,,,,, charles<3" Not a single negative thought about him. He's like a sister to me. This isn't true I have many negative thoughts about my sister but you know!

•lets just say that this winter in tulsa it snowed a lot bc of like idk global warming or somethin, it rlly doesnt snow THAT much in tulsa from what i remember

•darry and angela r inside bc they absolutely hate the cold

•tbh it probably started off so innoccent like pony and johnny were just throwing snow at each other, curly saw and chucked snow at pony, pony through snow back but curly ducked and it missed and hit steve and it absolutely snowballed from there

•theres entire teams being built of this shit, whos on whos team is up to u its rlly not THAT important, all u need to know is that its getting absolutely insane out there, theres forts built, man even the snowballs r getting a bit much bc y did a snowball get thrown at curly and it had pebbles inside

•that shit stung like it had splash damage ill tell u that much, so despite much of curlys protest, pony, curly, and johnny just quietly snuck off to do whatever

•they did build a snowman but it took a while bc curly was just trying to make the biggest snowball for the bottom section and that was a whole issue in and of itself

•and boy oh boy were they lucky they left when they did bc while they were doing that tim said “did u know that 15 americans die every year from icicle related incidents” and just smacked dally in the head w an icicle

•after that they were just wrestling in the snow, buck pulled up bc he had to give tim something, saw them n just,,,stared

•soda, two bit, and steve were right there w him and asked if they should do something and buck just went “nonono let them have this”

•meanwhile angela and darry were inside making hot chocolate bc it is getting somehow even colder, darry was just actually making it meanwhile angela was decorating them bc shes just a festive gyal

•day ended w everyone damn near getting frostbite and or hypothermia but hey they got hot chocolate and theyre doin a ok rn🤞🏽🤞🏽

1. The thing that got you hooked on hockey

it's hard to pinpoint one moment because i honestly genuinely believe that it's the best sport in the world just in terms of pure mechanics and objective viewing enjoyment and live crowd atmosphere so it's easy to get hooked once you actually watch it... i've been on and off with hockey fandom itself and took a few years away from tumblr until recently but i'd say it was a mix of just watching games + discovering fandom spaces on tumblr/reading fic on ao3 + having a decent home team at the time + canadian tax etc.

2. Your first ever fandom friend

ngl i think most of the people i first met in hockey fandom eventually moved onto bts (or k-pop in general) lmfaooo but i met @regularseason when i was in 11th grade making connor mcdavid gifsets and now i am somehow 25 years old. we have seen so much on this vast internet together ❤️ 

3. The jersey you would most like to own

MOOTERUS BROS RISE UP ☝️🐮  absolutely my favorite jersey of all time i genuinely don't think any other design comes close. i also really love the stars rr 2.0 but i finally bit the bullet and bought it so that's out... another top contender would be sabres goathead 🐐 and maybe mighty ducks era pkariya, also i think the sharks rr 2.0 with the spin on the seals logo is sooo cute and i love the og sharks logo designed by terry smith as well... specifically the classic late 90s teal jersey. and my fav regular home jersey of current teams is the kraken :')

i have way too many opinions on jerseys honestly. if i could pick some from my warmup jersey database then i lovelovelove the habs 2023 bhm and pride designs (i have apparel for both of these...), the leafs indigenous celebration design, and the kraken women in hockey design. gorgeous girls!!!!!

(real talk like a big part of why i got into the stars and came back to sports tumblr was because of him despite having 0 geographical ties to texas LOL. admittedly there was some superficiality involved at first in seeing an asian guy achieve top-line star status against the restrictive pains of bones hockey but then i was like oh your game is actually efficient and understated as hell? and it kind of spiraled out from there. my favorite deceptively abnormal "boring" guy!!!)

5. A pairing that deserves more fic

i will echo 2124 💚 but i am part of the problem for having 4 partial aus in one doc and not actually writing anything of substance for them... otherwise there are a ton of rarepairs i could argue in favor of but i feel like i'd sound insane. where is the otter/woll boston goaliefic... where is mitch/nrob with robo being vaguely horrified but trying to be supportive of his brother's poor decision making skills. where is my sabresfic and kidsline shenanigans in general......... also if we're going back to the stars then 2141 honestly have so much untapped potential wrt Why Are You Both So Weird Can You Please [Redacted] About It. but you get the gist i'm sure!!!

alright, first things first, i gotta introduce you to my three brand new rescue teams!

Red Team Gooseberry: Duck the Psyduck & Chikorita (no name) Blue Team Fireflower: Leif the Bulbasaur & Cinder the Cyndaquil DX Team Epoch Spark: Tori the Torchic & Sparky the Pikachu

all of the teams ended up having some kind of interesting thing to them for Gooseberry, i don't think i've ever played as a Psyduck before and i neglected to give Chikorita a nickname for Fireflower, i chose Cyndaquil over Torchic as my partner here because i love both Bulbasaur and Cyndaquil a lot as starters and thought it would be nice to have my two faves together and for Epoch Spark, funny enough, from the quiz I actually got Psyduck again, but since this is a newer PMD game I had the option to freely choose as well. and after much deliberation, i decided on Torchic and thought it would be kind of funny to have my partner be a Pikachu - i purposefully chose her species, gender, and name because my very first PMD team had the protagonist as a girl Pikachu. and choosing Torchic was not just a gut decision, but also to 1. round out the protagonists' types and 2. to reference the human-turned-pokemon in the PMD manga Ginji's Rescue Team which i love and cherish dearly

anyway, i started by going through the first dungeon of the game and getting our rescue team formed, and here are some of the things i noticed between the old and the new:

first, i should mention the quiz, or more specifically the pokemon selection screens. i do find it very funny that all the pokemon are just jimmying around wildly, but it also was. just a lot of sensory input. i will give it credit where it's due - it is a lot more interesting than just selecting from a list! but i do feel like Gates and Super had it better with a literal rotating cast rather than a chaotic cloud of bustling lil guys

what i thought was interesting out the gate was the fact that barely any of the text in-game is altered. it's the exact same dialogue for most of the time, with the exception of a few additional scenes not present in the old games, like a partially verbalized tutorial and when you put on the scarves as a uniform for the rescue team - which, by the way, was super cute

speaking of text, i don't know what exactly my reasoning is for being against it, but i find the little speech bubbles in dungeons to be really annoying. it's a fun idea conceptually to have more of an inner monologue as you roam around and fight and stuff, but having something to say every time you fight or get attacked is just… too much. i didn't see an option to turn them off but i kind of hope there is one and i just didn't see it

there is a pretty steep mechanical difference between the two that is very evident when playing them side-by-side. DX is mechanically very similar to Super, and given that i haven't touched Super in a few years it took me a while to remember that this wasn't completely novel and in fact something i had to get used to before. and also while i knew the movesets got more beefy and diverse as time went on in the franchise, i forgot just how robust the movesets you get out the gate are nowadays. back in the day, Pikachu knew exactly what it would in the main series games at Lv. 5: Thunder Shock, Growl, and Tail Whip. but now, in DX, my Pikachu knows Fake Out, Electro Ball, Grass Knot, and Iron Tail! like that's insanity!! and you can't even use a basic A-button attack anymore, but that's one of the things you're immediately taught in Blue/Red! it's gonna be a weird thing to juggle back and forth, i think

i noticed there was a "Random" button when making the rescue team name, and i absolutely love it. i only went through a handful of choices but they were all really good and fun and some in particular were very silly. it was very charming i will say, though - the default was "Efficiency" and it was so incredibly close to my first team's name "Electricy" (bc Electricity was too long to fit) and it really threw me hkjjk

after listening to all three iterations of that handful of sound tracks at the beginning, especially for Tiny Woods, i still feel like DX missed the mark somewhat. i will say that the version heard in Red was closer, but it's still very well mixed in Blue. DX just has issues with the relationships between timbres and between instruments' dynamics, as i've heard in a couple of its other OST remakes. it's not as offensive in person, but it's still a bit too over the top

one of the reasons i hesitated so much on getting DX was because of the aesthetics. it's radically different from any previous PMD game, and evokes kind of a storybook feeling. playing it for myself now, as far as i've gotten, i'm not the most into it, but i do appreciate it. i think my main issue is that it feels kind of unpolished and also quite cramped. the 3d renditions of 2d spaces just feels very small, and the 3d games before this didn't have that issue at all, so i feel like it's either to do with the dev team being different than previous installations, or more than likely it's just because they're struggling to adapt something from the past rather than coming up with environments and scenarios wholecloth

i do find it kind of incredible and amusing seeing the progression of how games have changed in the last 15 years, like seeing a language select at the top of Rescue Team DX, and the fact that it autosaves so it doesn't need to include the tutorial scene in the original that teaches you to go to bed to save. i just think that's really neat :3

i think that's it concerning the first impressions. overall, i'm actually most fascinated by what hasn't changed than what has. i would have expected an updated dialogue beyond adding scenes for the more modern demographic of PMD players instead of what is essentially a copy-paste from the original games. and i know it is copy-paste because i Just read it twice over in both Red and Blue just before booting up the new game! idk if that's a bad thing, but it's strange to me that it is so unaltered. i dunno, my feelings so far are mixed, but i've only just gotten started, so we'll see what comes next!

Sebastian says, puzzled, "But it was a good race."

They say, "It could've been better."

He stops them before an apology spills out by getting physical. Squeezing the back of the neck of a mechanic, ruffling the hair of a pit crew member. "Let's do it better next time," he says, never mind that they only have three next times left with him. Sebastian's determined to make the most of every one of them. He thinks carefully, rephrases. "We'll do it better next time."

Conor offers him a watery smile.

"There she is, beautiful," Sebastian says, laughing as Conor hides his face behind his camera.

Mikey pulls him aside before he leaves. He's still keeping his eyes on the ground. "The boys want to take you for dinner tonight."

Sebastian smiles. "Oh?"

"To apolog—"

Sebastian stops him with a shake of his head.

"To celebrate, then," Mikey says, exasperated and painfully fond. "To celebrate, that fine?"

"Dinner it is," Sebastian says.

There's steak, and wine, and coconut lime pie. Sebastian pats his belly, says Oh no I couldn't possibly, and they say, Just three more races, you have to let us treat you. He eats two slices of pie, savours this moment as the tang of lime bites at his tongue and files it away in his head for safekeeping.

Mikey's designated driver. He takes them back, bundles them like ducks in a row into the hotel room. Someone takes off his shoes, someone ushers him with an arm through his elbow to the bed, ever the gentleman.

Sebastian giggles. "Am I to be ravished, tonight?"

"Yes," Mikey says. "You didn't let us apologize."

"That was the point," Sebastian says, "I'm proud of you all, I'm proud of what you've done, for the team—"

"We need to do better," Scott says, pulling at the hem of his shirt. Sebastian lifts his arms up obediently. "For you."

Jesus. Someone's got their mouth on his chest, someone's massaging his hip, hand trailing to his inner thigh, then to his balls. He makes a high, needy sound, hips thrusting up. They push him down into the soft sheets, arrest him there. "You do fine by me," he insists, trembling as they shift his legs apart. He adores all of them so much, in this moment. "I want you to know that."

"Then let us prove it to you," Mikey says, breath hot in his ear.

Sebastian nods, trusting, laying back as he surrenders himself to them. Three more races.

Prompt #7 with PLD?

ah PLD, the man i can never let go of. this prompt might be a little cliche but do you know why cliches become cliches? because they work!

Love doesn't have to be something that we hide behind the scenes.

“I think we should tell them.”

“Really?”

“Yeah,” you sigh, your voice quiet but assured. “To be honest, I’m kind of surprised we managed to keep it a secret for this long.”

“Well, to be fair, we didn’t really plan for this to happen.”

“I know, Luc. I was there when it started,” you tease and your heart trills at the sound of Pierre’s laughter coming from the adjoining bathroom of the hotel suite you found yourself in.

How did you get here? Well, it was a long story.

How you came to be staying in the same hotel as the Winnipeg Jets was an easy answer. Right before the season started, you got a job as a part of the Jets the athletic training staff and soon, you found yourself as part of the travelling team, an honor that you hadn’t expected to receive in your first year. So, technically speaking, you were supposed to be in this hotel with the rest of the players and staff. However, your assigned room was actually a floor below.

That lead to the story how you came to find yourself nestled in the bed sheets behind the hotel room belonging to one Pierre-Luc Dubois.

As previously mentioned, you didn’t plan on this happening. At first, Pierre was just another co-worker. An insanely attractive co-worker who maybe sometimes flirted with you in the hallways to be sure but that was all. You certainly weren’t expecting him to become something more than that, a brief infatuation that you would get over eventually and things would return to business as usual. The rational part of your brain also told you that it was impossible for you and him to become something more. You’ll be the first to admit that you had only skimmed the employee code of conduct but you were pretty sure there was a section that said no fraternizing with the players.

And you never planned to.

Not until one night in Tampa when Victor Hedman laid a particularly messy hit on Pierre, a hit that caused his legs to tangle underneath him and had him ushered off the ice to the training room where he sat as you checked to see what the damage was. And when you and Rob confirmed that it was serious enough for Pierre to not return to the game, you stayed with him in the recovery room, icing and taping his knee to make him feel as best he could.

You could confidently say those 30 minutes or so of you and him just sitting together talking was the turning point in your relationship. And shortly after, you found yourself falling into an easy romance that you now couldn’t imagine your life without.

The two of you knew that being together wasn’t the smartest plan, that it could easily cost you your job. But you managed to keep it under wraps for almost four months and no one was the wiser.

However, you knew you had to come clean at some point. And that’s what lead to this conversation in a hotel room.

Pierre emerges from the bathroom, his pullover and sweatpants covering his frame as he walks back over to you still in bed.

“Are you sure you want to?”

“I wouldn’t say I want to. I like what we have right now, I like being in this nice little bubble of just you and me. But I think it would just make things easier, less complicated.”

“I could kiss you in hallways instead of having to wait until we were alone,” Pierre adds and you laugh at his light teasing.

“If I keep my job,” you say, trying to keep your voice light but having to voice the harsh possibility.

“Oh, right,” Luc sighs, his eyes ducking down. You reach out for his hand, taking in his palm in yours as you intertwine your fingers.

“Hey, that’s the worst-case possibility,” you rationalize, trying to dissuade your fears as much as his own. “I could also stay in my current position, or I can’t travel with you guys, or I get fired at the end of the season instead of immediately so we’d still get about another month of this. We really know until we reveal… this.”

Luc chuckles at your stuttered sentences, his hand tightening around yours.

“If it does go badly, which I hope it won’t considering the fact that this has been going on for months and I’d like to think I’ve remained professional, I’ll just be like a normal hockey partner. Like everyone else,” you laugh and Pierre smiles at you.

“You could never be like everyone else,” Pierre says with a soft smile and you can’t stop the heat from flooding your cheeks. “But I think you’re right. I think it’s time we tell everyone.”

“Maybe not everyone,” you laugh. “Maybe, let’s start with my boss. I can talk to Rob on the plane today and we’ll go from there.”

“So, I still can’t tell the boys?”

“Not yet. Depending on what Rob and the rest of my bosses say slash decide, we can talk about telling the boys.”

“That works for me,” Pierre accepts, lifting himself up off the mattress and using the hand clasped in yours to pull you up from the sheets. You can’t help the giggle that falls from your lips and you and Luc fall back into the easy intimacy that had defined your relationship. The two of you finish getting dressed, Pierre’s bag packed and the two of you are causally talking as you step out of the hotel room, so caught up in the conversation that you don’t notice Mark Scheifele stepping out of his own hotel room directly across the hall at the same time.

You notice Mark first, your words pausing and eyes widening as you watch him take the scene before him; you and Pierre stepping out of the room, one of Luc’s shirts falling from your shoulders.

“Oh my god,” he says and the pleading look that you plaster onto your face is a millisecond too slow because before you knew it, Mark’s voice was carrying down the hallway, followed shortly by the sound of other doors being opened and more hoots and hollers joining in the noise.

“This is who you’ve been seeing, Luc?”

“Yo, Lowry you owe me 20 bucks.”

“I knew it the whole time. You two weren’t being subtle at all.”

These sentences and more surrounded you as you felt the entire teams’ eyes on the two of you, the heat that you felt in your cheeks earlier now multiplied by a hundred. But soon the embarrassment turned into contentment as the boys came up to you, hugging you and you felt like you were being welcomed to the team once again. And somehow, having the boys know before anyone else made you feel better about the prospect of telling your bosses. Because now you had an entire team backing you; a family that you would now always be a part of regardless of what happened.

Eventually, you feel Pierre’s hands on your waist, pulling your attention from the few bodies still lingering in the hallway to him. And when you connect your eyes to his, you see a matching smile stretched across his face.

“Well, that didn’t go as planned.”

My All time favorite Duo is Louie and Huey! They are the best brother pair I swear! Don't get me wrong I love all the triplets together (and Dewey is my highest Kin!) BUT! Their dynamic holds a special place in my heart!

One of Hueys Favorite 30 things is making sure Louie is having fun and its the first thing he writes on every single one of his checklists as he makes them! It's the sweetest thing ever!

Louie is the most easily frightened of the three too so he's always running to Huey vise versa when Huey gets overstimulated he's running to Louie for help

They both encourage each other all the time

They both use each other's help for schemes

Louie knows what makes Huey the most happy!

Tickle wise for these two:

Louie is the most ticklish and is tickled by everyone but if he ever wants to be tickled he'll go to Huey first

Huey has claimed himself to be "Louie's personally tickle monster" and he's always met with the youngest lightly pushing him and red face hiding in his hoddie going "stop that's so embarrassing don't say that out loud"

I know for a fact Louie tickled him to make up for what happened on Halloween (a future fic hint lol!)

And Huey gave him some cheer up tickles whenever Louie is upset (I'm forever a Della Duck hater I don't care! /hj /lh)

If the ducks weren’t doing hockey. What sport or activity would they be doing?

I'm going to assume we're talking like they never got into hockey. So, let's go!

Charlie: Charlie is a tough one cause I feel like he has everything to be a captain of another team but he has everything because of his friends, the Ducks. Charlie is only second to like Adam for how insane he is about hockey. However, he is a kid in the 90s so he probably would be into skateboarding.

Jesse: Part of me wants to say Jesse would be in baseball because his actor was in Sandlot. However, I could see Jesse being a trained fighter in some way. My mind immediately goes to kickboxing. However, I believe his dad would put him in anything to keep him on the straight and narrow.

Adam: Adam's whole personality is hockey so if he didn't play hockey I don't know if he'd be the Adam we know and love. HOWEVER! Given that he was in hockey because his brother played I could see that being the trend. So, whatever sport his brother played he would play. Besides, hockey a lot of people in MN played baseball or soccer while I was growing up. So, I could see Adam playing either sport.

Dwayne: Dwayne is a pretty well-rounded character so I feel like it's easy to give him a backup activity. He would either do bull riding or horseback riding full-time.

Connie: Connie would be into her school's politics. Like I could see her from a very young age being brought up to pay close attention to those in power. If there wasn't a student government in her school she would start one. Because she believes it is important to be informed and be a part of the action.

Guy: Guy is a hard one for me. Outside of him being just a generally nice guy and a good friend, he doesn't show much interest in any other obvious hobbies. Other than hockey his hobby is literally just supporting his friends. So, if he wasn't in hockey I feel like he would just help put in his friend's hobbies in any way he can.

Kenny: Kenny is pretty easy. He was an ice skater before he was a hockey player. So, I feel like his hobby would be ice skating. However, if I had to choose something else. I have always thought Kenny is a horror movie fan. So, if he didn't do hockey or figure skating I think he's dive into horror movies.

Fulton: In D1 we heard that Fulton has a football scholarship. Now, we never know if this is true or not. However, I feel like it is fitting for Fulton. However, I could also see him being in a band. He would play either bass or drums.

Averman: Averman is comic relief first and hockey player second. So, if he wasn't playing hockey he would focus all his attention on that. He would probably go on to write jokes and focus on be coming a big-time comic.

Russ: Russ is a city kid in LA so if he wasn't in hockey I could see him being in another street sport. I could see him playing baseball in the street with his brother and friends. I could also see him being a basketball player.

Dean: I feel like Dean would take up another sport where he could bash people without it being an issue. So if he wasn't playing hockey I could see him being a wrestler. It is another sport where you can be pretty rough and it would help him focus his anger.

Goldberg: I am not sure about Goldberg because he didn't even want to be a hockey player. He was complaining about it all the way into D3! However, I could see him being in something pretty low-key. Like he seems like the type of kid who would choose birdwatching because he won't get hurt.

Luis: Besides hockey, Luis only really shows interest in girls. However, that is not a hobby (despite what some may think). However, after doing some research on his hometown of Miami it says the industrial spaces are great for street artists. That I think would fit Luis very well. He is a passionate person and I could definitely see him being an artist.

Julie: So I have said before that Julie's actress Columbe is a baker and I could see Julie sharing the same hobby. So, if Julie wasn't in Hockey I could see her being a baker. She loves to try out new recipes and people love her cooking.

Dragon Ball Z: Abridged Episode 27 Review

The chaos before the storm.

This is a very good episode of Dragonball Z: Abridged, but I’m beginning to question how much of the credit for that should be given to Team Four Star versus how much should be given to the strength of the source material. Having never watched that much of the original show, I’m curious how much better the story tends to get once it approaches the final fight of the arc, because it’s definitely been the case that Dragonball Z: Abridged gets significantly better when they get to that point in the story.

Last episode, of course, clearly benefited from the hand of Team Four Star, since it sped through material that I imagine the show took multiple episodes to get through, but in regards to earlier reviews, I may have criticized Team Four Star too much for their pacing when the blame lay on Toriyama for dragging out the story for far too long.1

Of course, Team Four Star’s hand is pretty clearly present in the acting and writing of this episode, both of which are at the best they’ve been in the series so far. “The Saiyan Formerly Known as Prince” is on par with “A Lovely Bunch of Dragonballs” in both camps.

The standout performances here are obviously LittleKuriboh and Lanipator as Freeza and Vegeta, with Freeza being more fun and brutal than we’ve seen him yet and Vegeta’s arrogance pushing him into uncharted realms of stupidity.

The writing also works incredibly well, swiftly establishing the power of Freeza’s final form (and simultaneously how much fun it’s gonna be to see him get his ass kicked). The rest of the episode is then spent tormenting Vegeta as Freeza slowly pushes him to his emotional edge.

It is only when Vegeta has been knocked down a peg that we get the arrival of (Deus ex) Goku, who naturally shows up to taunt Freeza by simply being himself. And then, because it wouldn’t be an episode during the final fight without it, we see Vegeta die, properly setting the stage for Goku’s fight and thrusting us into the second act of the fight.

Krillin, I too am confused as to how “Old Space Yeller” is a thing.

Freeza: “Between you and the Namekian, I think I’ve lost my touch at genocide.”

Okay I finally got an idea for a request of course, I am dead serious when I mean don't do this until you want to and if you don't want to do this at all then dont! Literally no hard feelings!

So my idea was with my new oc Vince, since he is new though feel free to ask any questions about him and I'll be more than happy to answer!

So Addict runs into him again after there first meeting together and since he is a hitman, he's off to go kill someone but Addict is going after the same guy so they decide to team up and help each other out. Of course she still doesn't know who he is, but with the way he flatters her and calls her "Darlin" she becomes very interested in him and curious about who he really is because he never mentions his name....

Addict walked past a few trees and she followed the target she had in pursuit, eyeing the large and intimidating. As she stalked, and preyed on her victim, the horrific stenches of decaying bodies withered in her nose, making her cough and gag. Flies surrounded the bodies, eating away at their dead, decaying flesh. The said target was said to be ruthlessly killing random humans, and given Slenderman's dependency on humans, he sent Addict out to kill whoever was causing this. She walked around the carpet of corpses, seeing many of them civilians and many being from the army. Addict cocked her gun as she began to move forward towards a large building, wanting to get there before the sky turned completely dark. Hee other guns were cocked and ready for any threat that stood in their wake just in case she were to run out of ammo. She entered the abandoned house, to search around for her target. 

Addict froze at the sound of a loud gunshot, staring out the window as another figure to take notice to it as well. Her eyebrows narrowed and she tossed the backpack on the counter, jumping back over it and peeking through the windows. She tried to find the source, but as another gunshot sounded, it echoed through the forest and it was hard to pinpoint its location. Addict knew even if Slenderman had sent our any of the other proxies, they weren't stupid enough to use his rifle or .357 to put down a possible threat and her heart raced when she figured that new people had made their way into the dorest. They were threatening both themselves and her safety using such loud weapons. The target may not have been fast in the weather but once the man had escaped the forest entirely, it would be so much harder to track him down. 

It was only one man, in her travels she had made note of the bodies around the forest, as if the target had almost been dragging bodies here just to taunt her and she knew this wasn't good. She heard the man stop for a moment and she couldn't help but slowly peek her head over to look at the man, checking to see if it had been her target. The moment she did she instantly recognized the gun-slinger, quickly she tucked her head back behind the tree. She felt a subconscious raise to her lips as she reminisced. It almost brought light to the situation, he could've been hunting down the fugitive wandering these forests.

"It's that guy again…!" she whispered to herself. 

The mysterious man then continued moving on in the direction he was originally headed and she found herself faced with a decision. To follow him or go in the opposite direction of the forest, and possibly find the target. Whatever her decision she had to make it quick. She bit her bottom lip slightly, running dozens of thoughts through her head before slowly peeking her head out again. She made her decision, and slowly she began to trail the gunslinger, ducking behind trees and hiding in bushes whenever the male would look over in her direction. She took a breath to clear her head and continued to track the man, tracking him for most of the day until the sun began to set. 

Finally she found herself hidden behind a tree in front of the pit, she peeked out slightly, and noticed how the attractive man she had been following had seemed to stop in his tracks, his back completely facing her. Her eyes widened as she saw him take out a gun, she took a slight step forward —ready to fight just in case she needed to. 

"Come out. I know you’ve been following me." He called out, chuckling slightly as his southern voice slithered its way into her ears. Begrudgingly, she stepped out from behind the tree she had been concealing herself with, her hand resting on her gun in case he tried anything.

"Well I'll be damned, if it isn't my little darling~ It's nice to see you again, angel," Vincent smirked and finally looked over at her, meeting her gaze. He didn’t point his gun to her, only turned around to face the rest of the forest as he readied himself. Addict turned, but did not walk after him, only watched as he stopped while placing his hands on his hips, "What are you doin' here anyways? It's not safe for anyone, especially a pretty little thing like yourself." 

Her expression twisted into slight amusement, as she marched in front of him, and tugged at her sleeve. She showed-off the proxy symbol engraved into her skin, as his eyes noticeably widened. 

"Nevermind, maybe it is safe for you, darlin, seems like you can handle yourself if you're a Slenderman proxy. Still, I'm on a bounty-hunting mission right now, I'd be happy to give you my number–" She cut him off, shoving the bounty-paper into his face, displaying the man he had been tracking for hours on end.

"You're looking for him right? Well, I can help you since I was sent out here to look for him as well," Vince didn’t expect those words to come out of her mouth and a small smile formed on his lips.

"Oh yeah? I guess I could use some help, from a little lady." Vince chuckled under his breath and Addict narrowed her eyes accusingly as she thought he was laughing at her. Her eyes narrowed and one of his eyebrows rose as she swore she heard gunshots sound off again. Vince's eyes narrowed as well and brushed past her, looking for the source of the sound.

A soft wind blew through town and that didn’t help the situation. Addict quickly tossed on her hood and the black fabric hung down the sides of her face, masking somewhat of whatever scent she had. A low snarl rumbled against Addict's ears and she turned to see a demon slowly making way through the tight squeeze of two trees huddled near each other. Not wanting to take the risk of it following her, she slowly got to her feet and pulled the blade of her knife behind her. With an inaudible swing, the demon's head popped off its body and thumped onto the snowy concrete, rolling to a quick stop.

Vince's eyes widened with slight amazement, she really knew how to handle herself in situations like this, he smirked, grabbing out his silenced-pistol and raising it warily near his head.

"Hey, so I've never gotten your name—" Her words came to a stilling silence as she realized the charming man had disappeared before she questioned him about his identity.  As she took a look in her surroundings, her eyes suddenly noticed there was no doubt he had completely disappeared without a trace, it almost reminded her of a certain amber-eyed mail. She let out a sigh of relief as she stuffed her hands into the pockets of her jacket, only to notice a piece of paper that hadn't been there before.

Make sure to give me a call, darling. Don't keep me waiting now,

Addict let out a small chuckle, as she turned her eyes to the sky. The sky began to darken with erratic clouds as a rush of violent wind carried itself through a now empty forest since her and Vince had killed the target. Trees whispered silently with each other through the voice of their rustling leaves, warning that the storm rapidly approaching might inflict damage on the unwary shrubbery. The corpses that were ripped to shreds lay dormant that were left behind by the murderer. A light blanket of snow plagued the trees and grass in the forest, making even Addict shudder under its tyranny.

She stuffed the paper into her pocket, and paced forward back to the mansion.

“Hey where’ve you been?” Another man walked up, staring at Vince accusingly as both of them were still soaked from wading around in the creek beds, “And why do you seem so…happy?” His eyes narrowed and one of his eyebrows rose as he stared at the disheveled survivor. Vince's eyes narrowed as well and brushed past him,

“Ain’t none of your damn business.” He growled, stalking off towards the tent he was housed in before the two had left that morning. He watched Vince step near his stationery tent, then looked back at Vince with a smirk crossing his arms,

"If I hadn't known any better, I'd say you're falling for the girl, Vince." His voice sounded, an evident cockiness displayed itself as he spoke, sliding his hand onto Vince's shoulder, "That's not good in a bounty-hunter business. You know people will target her because of you," he gripped his shoulder ever so slightly.

"Fuck off, Elias. I just met her, it's not like that. She just happened to be in the area." Vincent slightly scoffed, brushing past his partner in crime as the other man seemed to continue to smirk at him. 

"Are you gonna tell me what exactly happened?" Vince's hair slightly wavered in his face and it nearly waved down past the gaze he shot at his partner as he stared curiously at Elias, wondering what he meant by that. Elias couldn’t help but smirk to himself and kick at the ground with his boot. His eyes widened slightly and he leaned forward, “You guys didn’t…?” His voice faded off at his question and Vince stared at him confusingly for a moment before she knew what he was actually talking about registered in his mind. Snapping out of his momentary trance, Vince's signature Cheshire cat grin carved its way onto his face, signalling this meant trouble. That was Eli's cue for leaving. Without saying anything else to him, he turned on his heel, ready to escape the rather awkward situation.
