Delicious!

Hey, idk if you do this but I’ve gotten to the point of desperation. last year at some point I read a Buddie fix about the anniversary of the Tsunami and the city had put up billboards with images of photos taken during it. The 118 are at a car crash and Buck turns around and it’s a billboard of him grabbing Chris? It was such a good fic about him moving on from the Tsunami and him and Eddie finally talking about it. But I didn’t save it and it’s my biggest regret 😭 if you can please help?

Normally just a rec blog but I don't mind helping finding fics, so I think that you might be looking for this fic!

Tragedy struck on 8th December 1959 the lifeboat RNLB Mona, based at Broughty Ferry, capsize in a storm in St Andrews Bay with the loss of all eight crew.

The lifeboat had been called to assist the North Carr lightship which had broken from its mooring and was believed adrift in St Andrews Bay. The conditions when the lifeboat was launched at 3.13 a.m. were atrocious. The last radio message was received from the Mona at 4.48 a.m. As the boat rounded the headland she capsized. No matter how long ago this tragedy occurred the sacrifice of the men involved is not forgotten far and wide but especially in Broughty Ferry.

The lost crew were coxswain Ronald Grant, 28, acting second coxswain George Smith, 53, bowman George Watson, 38, motor mechanic John Grieve, 56, second mechanic James Ferrier, 43, John J Grieve, 22, Alexander Gall, 56, and David Anderson, 42.

The Mona was washed up on Carnousite beach, a body, that of John J Grieve was found nearby, later five more bodies were found on the lifeboat, Bowman George Watson’s body was never found.

All the crew of the North Carr were rescued.

In 11 years of operating the Mona and her crew had saved 118 lives.

According to a letter to the Dundee Evening Telegraph, in January 2006, “Among some seamen, it was believed the vessel was tainted with evil, and they resolved to exorcise the boat in a ‘viking ritual’”. The Mona was taken to Cockenzie harbour on the river Forth in the dead of night, stripped of anything of value, chained to the sea wall, and burnt. The burning was done with the knowledge and permission of Lord Saltoun, the chairman of the Scottish Lifeboat Council. Questions were however raised in the House of Commons about the destruction of a lifeboat built with public subscription, sailors are a very superstitious lot though.

Before the Mona was burnt extensive tests were carried out and no faults could be found with the engine or indeed sea worthiness of the lightboat, it was established it had merely capsized.

A service was later held at St James’ Church, the Fisherman’s Kirk at Broughty Ferry. They joined the many hundreds of people from all walks of life who went to the memorial service. The Church only seats 450 and the service was relayed to another 300 in the church Hall and to hundreds who stood in Fort Street on a cold windy, wet forenoon. People started to queue outside the church doors an hour before the service began, but few of them were able to get in.

Soon after the service ended the first of the funerals of the seven men whose bodies have been recovered took place. Small crowds gathered outside the homes of the six Broughty Ferry men who perished. Hundreds attended the funerals of all the men.

The report of the burning of the Mona reads:

“Mona, the Broughty Ferry disaster lifeboat in which eight men died, was burned secretly on a dark beach at 4.30 a.m. Only a handful of men saw the Lifeboat – “perfectly sound and seaworthy”, destroyed on confidential orders phoned direct from London by a senior R.N.L.I. official. Few people in the Port Seaton holiday resort on the Forth Estuary near Edinburgh knew about it. Flames crackled as families slept in a tenement only 50 yards away – unaware of the funeral pyre

They only learned about it when they saw the smoking ruin on the rocks at daybreak. After dark on Thursday night the Mona was taken across the harbour basin and moored just inside the protection wall. Then about 4 am she was moved round the sea wall secured by two chains and left to settle on the rock-strewn foreshore as the tide ebbed.

She was set alight and by daybreak all that was left was part of the stern and superstructure – twisted charred metal, still smoking. Four men stripped the last of her metal fittings in the afternoon. And inquisitive youngsters were curtly told to leave the shore. In his office overlooking the harbour. Mr Bruce Jones of the ship repair-firm, said he could not discuss the matter.

The R.N.L.I. officials in London did not want it publicised. I got all my instructions verbally. I must honour the request. Was it really a funeral pyre “well it is not uncommon for this to happen after a disaster” said the senior Lifeboat official in London, “It would be rather unpleasant to put a new crew in a disaster”

3. What work are you most proud of (regardless of kudos/hits)?

Definitely The sound of your voice because I started it and gave up on it numerous times. I didn't think I could make it work, couldn't figure out how to write their conversations and at times it was a slog! So I'm proud of actually completing it and being really happy with the results.

6. Favorite title you used

Hmmm, probably a tie between Buck's Calling and Let's not sleep together. I liked Buck's Calling because of the double meaning of the phone calls Buck was having with his parents and finding his calling at the 118. Let's not sleep together felt perfect as it was about Buck and Eddie talking late at night so they were 'together' whilst not sleeping.

30. Biggest surprise while writing this year?

I never thought I would write a fic about the tsunami. There are already so many good ones and wasn't sure I had anything new to offer to the story and then I saw this prompt from @911prompts and it inspired Like the ebbing of the tide. Big surprise to me!

Dov'è la "vera religione" - il corpo di Cristo - il tempio di Dio?

Giovanni 4:21

Le disse Gesù: «Credimi, donna, viene l'ora in cui né su questo monte né a Gerusalemme adorerete il Padre. dei Giudei". 23 Ma l'ora viene, ed è questa, in cui i veri adoratori adoreranno il Padre in spirito e verità, perché il Padre cerca tali adoratori. 24 Dio è Spirito, e quelli che lo adorano devono adorarlo in spirito e verità”.

«Infatti con un'unica offerta egli ha reso perfetti per sempre quelli che vengono santificati. Signore: metterò le mie leggi nei loro cuori e nelle loro menti le scriverò», 17 poi aggiunge: «Non mi ricorderò più dei loro peccati e delle loro iniquità».

Giovanni 2:18

«Allora i Giudei gli risposero e gli dissero: «Quale segno ci mostri, dal momento che fai queste cose?» 19 Gesù rispose e disse loro: «Distruggete questo tempio e in tre giorni lo farò risorgere». 20 Allora i Giudei dissero: «Ci sono voluti quarantasei anni per costruire questo tempio e tu lo farai risorgere in tre giorni?». 21 Ma parlava del tempio del suo corpo.

Gesù non stava parlando qui del suo corpo di carne. Ha detto "in tre giorni, *io* lo risusciterò". Gesù non ha risuscitato il proprio corpo di carne. (vedi Rom. 10:7 , 9 ; Atti 2:32 ).

Chiaramente, è stato Dio a risuscitare Cristo dai morti. Quale “corpo” e “tempio”, dunque, Gesù stesso ha risuscitato con la sua morte e risurrezione?

Le scritture sono chiare, che mediante il riscatto di Gesù ( Apocalisse 5:9 , 10 ), egli ha innalzato il tempio degli unti (messianici/eletti) ( Efesini 2:6 ; 1Corinzi 3:16 ; 1Pietro 2:5 , 9 ; Efesini 2:22 , 21 , 20 ; Salmi 118:22 ; Giovanni 2:19 , 21 ; 1 Cor. 12:27 ) del suo corpo di 144.000 ( 2 Cor. 1:21 , 22 ; Ap.7: 4 , 3 ; 14:1), il corpo unito di cui, ogni Eletto, è un membro ( 1 Cor. 12:12 , 13 , 14 , 20 , 27 ).

Questo è lo stesso tempio, dove il Padre è adorato in "Spirito e Verità" ( 1Tim 3:15 ; 1Pt 2:5 ; 1Cor. 3:16 ; 2Cor. 6:16 ; 1Cor. 6:19 ); quelli della Nuova Alleanza che hanno le leggi di Dio scritte nei loro cuori ( Ebrei 10:16 ; Deut.6:6 , 8 ; Ap.14:1 ). Questo è il nuovo luogo di culto, dalla morte di Cristo. Con il suo sangue, ha comprato questi eletti per Dio, per essere sacerdoti di Dio ( Apocalisse 5:9 , 10 ), e per essere la "sposa" di Cristo ( Efesini 5:25 ;Apocalisse 21:9 , 10 ).

Questi sono i rappresentanti della "vera religione" qui sulla terra ( 2 Cor. 5:20 ; 1 Cor. 4:1 ; Mal. 2:7 ; Giovanni 7:18 , 38 ; Ap. 21:6 ; 22:17 ; 14: 3,5 ) .

Gesù non ha descritto questa disposizione di culto come organizzata dagli uomini in un'organizzazione o corporazione "religiosa" ( Atti 17:24 ; Eb.9:11 ; Ef.2:10 ),

ma piuttosto lo descrisse come guidato dallo Spirito Santo e dalla Verità ( Giovanni 4:24 ; 3:8 ; 16:13 , 14 ) sotto Cristo come Capo ( Ef.5: 23 ). Gli unti non si consultavano e non obbedivano, né erano sotto la direzione di un "corpo di governo" a Gerusalemme (Gal. 1:11-12 , 17 , 15 , 16 , 10 ; 5:1 ; 2:4 ; Rom.6:16 ; 1 Cor. 7:23 ; 2Cor. 11:20 ; Apocalisse 2:20 ; Col.3:24 ) o qualche altra gerarchia creata dall'uomo . Erano e sono insegnati collettivamente dallo Spirito Santo ( 1 Giovanni 2:20 , 27 ; Giovanni 7:38 , 39 ; 17:26 ; Luca 12:12 ; 21:14 ,15 ; Apocalisse 11:5 , 3 , 4 ; Matteo 10:27 , 20 ; Giovanni 16:13 , 14 , 15 ; 6:45 ), attraverso la disposizione del "corpo"/"tempio" di Cristo ( Giovanni 15:4 , 5 ; Ef.2:20 , 21 , 22 ; 1Pt. 2:5 , 9 ; Mal.2:7 ) , secondo le varie assegnazioni delle sue "parti" ( Ef.4:11-13 ; 2:20 , 21 ; 1Cor. 12:18, 28-29 , 27 ; Ef.4:11 , 12 ).

Come un "corpo" collettivo sotto Cristo come Capo; è unto con lo spirito, ed è quindi sostenuto dall'opera dello spirito, al suo interno ( 1Giovanni 2:20 , 27 ; Efesini 4:11 , 12 ; Rom. 12:5 ; Giovanni 13:14 ) ( Giovanni 15:4 , 5 ; Rom. 11:17 ; 1 Cor. 12:6 , 7 ).

Paolo conferma che lui stesso fu condotto direttamente dallo Spirito Santo, e non da una disposizione eretta da uomini, in Gal.1:10-12 , 15-17 , 18-20 ; Atti 15:8-10 , 36 , 41 ; Atti 16:6-7 ; Giovanni 16:13 ; 14:17 , 26 .

Per il "corpo di Cristo", Gesù stesso è il Capo. Come sua "sposa", tutte le membra del suo corpo si sottomettono alla disposizione delle parti, secondo il loro ordine stabilito da Cristo e Dio ( Efesini 4:11 , 12 ; 1 Corinzi 12:28; Efesini 4:14 , 15 , 16 ).

In questo modo, l'ordine e la pace sono stabilità all'interno del "corpo" di Cristo di eletti ( 1 Cor. 14:12 , 22 ,26 , 29 , 32-33 , 37-38 , 40 ; 12:18 , 28 ; Rom.12:6-8 , 9-11 , 12-13 ). IO

sacerdoti unti sono come tralci attaccati a una vite / ceppo ( Giovanni 15:4.5 ; Apocalisse 22:16 ; Rom.11:16). Ciò che proviene da Cristo, non dagli uomini ( Giovanni 15:1-3 , 4-6 , 7 , 15-16 ; Ef.5:29 ; Rom.11:17-18 , 22 ; Col.2:2). Gesù una volta descrisse le singole membra del suo corpo come "alberi". Questa illustrazione si applica bene, perché proprio come una vite ei suoi tralci producono frutti ( Giovanni 15:5 , 8 ); questi “ alberi ” forniscono anche “frutti” come cibo spirituale [ Matteo 12:33 , 35 ; Luca 6:45 ; <( Ebrei 13:15 ; Osea 14:2 ); Matteo 7:17 , 20 ; Ger.17:7-8 ; Sal.1:2-3 ; Apocalisse 22:1-2 ;Giovanni 7:38 ; Prov.4:23 ].

Tutti i fedeli fruttiferi, confermati dalla linfa/spirito santo/acqua viva, provenienti dal trono/vera vite/radice di olivo ( Col.2:7 ; Rom.11:17 ; Giovanni 15:4 , 5 ; 1Cor. 12:13 ; Giovanni 6:63 ; Luca 8:18 ).

Se Cristo rimuove lo spirito santo da un prescelto in errore, quell'albero si secca ( Marco 11:14 , 20-21 ; Gioele 1:12 ; Marco 4:25 ; Giovanni 15:2 , 6 ; Col.2:19 ; Efesini 4:16 , 11 , 12 ).

Gesù descrisse i frutti/insegnamenti dei bravi e veri profeti come: FONTI NELLA PAROLA DI DIO ( Giovanni 7:16-18 ; 8:47 a ; Giovanni 17:17 ; Matteo 5:14 ; Salmi 36:9 ; 1Giovanni 1:5 ; Luca 11:35 , 36 ; Giovanni 8:12 ; 1:4 , 5 , 14 ) e come PROMUOVERE LA GLORIA/Giustizia DI DIO, non l'autogloria ( Matteo 6:33 ).Questo poteva fare, grazie alle leggi di Dio scritte nei loro cuori, combinate con le benedizioni di intuizione che lo Spirito Santo avrebbe concesso loro ( 1Giovanni 2:20 , 27 ; 1 animale domestico. 2:9 ; Matt.13:11 ; 1 Corinzi 2:12-14 ). Ricevono quello spirito attraverso la loro unione con il Capo ( 1 Corinzi 6:17 ; 2:14 ; Efesini 2:18 ; Giovanni 17:23 ; 14:20 ) e l'armonia con l'intero "corpo" che ne risulterebbe.

Questo Sacerdozio Eletto serve all'interno del Tempio spirituale di Dio , il "corpo" di Cristo ( Apocalisse 3:11-12 ; 5:10 ; 7:15 ; 22:3 , 4 ; Mal.2:7 ; 1Pt. 2 :5 , 9-10 ).

In tempi più moderni, molti di questi sacerdoti unti si riunivano insieme. Si sono organizzati. Naturalmente, Satana non avrebbe lasciato indisturbate le loro attività ( Matteo 13:24-26 , 27-28 ; Isaia 63:18 ; Apocalisse 11:2 ; Luca 22:31 ). L'opera fedele di fare la volontà di Dio, sarebbe sempre stata contrastata e contrastata; proprio in mezzo a questi sacerdoti ( At 20,29 , 30 ; 1Tm 4,1 ; Mt 24,4-5 , 24-25 ; 7,15 ; Ap 13,11 ; 2Ts 2,4 ,9 2Cor 11,12-13 ;Matteo 13:30 ). Coloro che formano una gerarchia organizzata al di fuori del corpo di Cristo, aiutano Satana a resistere, sfidare e denigrare la disposizione di Dio ( Is. 1:21 ; 1 Cor. 6:15 B; Ap. 17:2 , 1 ; 2 :20 ; Ap. .18:4 ; 2Cor. 6:17 )

Coloro che si dimostrano infedeli , scambiano l'amore per i loro fratelli e per la verità, per il potere mondano e le dottrine egoistiche degli uomini ( Giovanni 5:44 ; 1Giovanni 3:10-11 , 13-15 ; Apocalisse 17:6 ; 1 Giovanni 2:15 ; Apocalisse 2:4 ; 2 Tessalonicesi 2:10 , 12 ; 1 Corinzi 4:8 ; Giovanni 7:16 , 18 ; Marco 7:7 ; Romani 1:25 ). Coloro che si dimostrano infedeli, sono proprio quelli che diventano orgogliosi, preminenti, potenti, tirannici e violenti ( Luca 16:8 ; 22:24-25 , 26-27 ; 1Giovanni 4:20 ; 2:9 , 11 ; 3:10 , 15 ), e dominano i loro fratelli a loro danno ( Ec.8:9 ).

Dove otterrebbero tale potere gli unti? ( Mat.4:8-10 ; Ap.9:1 , 3 , 7 ; 13:4 , 11 , 15 )

Questi infedeli lasciano la loro sottomissione a Cristo, lasciano l'unità con il corpo di Cristo come disposto da Dio, e si alleano con il potere dei Gentili (non unti), invece ( Ger.17:5 ; Dan.11 : 31 ) . Questa disposizione strutturale, (di unti infedeli a capo di un sacerdozio contraffatto non unto), è una fabbricazione che sfida l'autentico corpo/tempio/sacerdozio di Dio, all'interno del quale il Suo spirito opera e dimora. È una "cosa disgustosa" stare in un luogo santo... un "uomo dell'illegalità" che domina il corpo di Cristo, usurpando l'autorità di Cristo sulle sue membra della Sposa.
