More dino guars! Pale Velothi Guar as requested by @aanthirin and a lil Bantam Guar that I tried very hard not to make fluffy lol.

BEE HIVES and HONEY JARS. ive had a cobbled-together beehive in one of my houses for years i cannot WAIT to swap it out for a 'real' one

CHEESES!!! a part of me instantly expects sheogorath to make an appearance of course, but even if he doesnt...CHEESES

vineyards and GRAPES!! that arent awful and so tinysmall you can barely see them like the base game ones! and wine bottles and all that stuff!! we can FINALLY put those alinor grape stomping tubs to good use

Wait how do you feel about nix-oxen? As both just a creature and as a mount? Because I love my big bug friends and I still use my Nix-Ox Warsteed mount that I got for free in 2017 even after spending money on other mounts lol. AND! They can only be encountered in Vvardenfell and some of the Necrom-related instances afaik!

And cliff striders are also Morrowind-exclusive, I think? Hackwings can be found elsewhere but I'm not sure how related those are to cliff striders (they might have a similar model but be unrelated).

I dig nix-oxen! I think they fit in with Morrowind's fauna nicely, and I like that they gave us a relative to nix-hounds (it's making that branch of my phylogeny project easier tbh). They make sense as mounts too (there's some Morrowind concept art of people riding large bugs, and in the Redguard comic they ride wasps, so it's not at all a stretch).

Cliff striders are Morrowind exclusive, yeah. Hackwings are implied to have a common ancestor with cliff striders, and then selective breeding gave rise to cliff racers from cliff striders.

Confession: I think most cosmetics (especially the shiniest and brightest ones) in ESO are not lore friendly. It's an MMO and it needs to have shiny things, I don't think the descriptions of those cosmetics can convince me that they are in fact lore friendly

Prompt: “you’ve made your choice so live with it” Given to me by @blossom-adventures

No content warnings that I can think of.

Getting gifts from friends is a long-time tradition between the races of Tamriel… However, one hardly ever got pieces of Dwemer technology by the time the Second Era rolled around. That didn’t stop Neramo from gifting his favorite adventuring buddy, the Vestige, a special piece of technology he came to own.

The Vestige, naturally, was over the moon at such a big gift, but when she asked how she was supposed to use it, the Altmer simply shrugged before leaving to catch his ship, leaving the Bosmer and her companions lost on what to do.

Several days later (after moving the giant automaton to a place outside of the town they were staying in) the group gathered around the golden contraption, each having their own ideas on how to use it.

“Maybe it has lasers? That would be useful.” Ember suggested, tapping her claws on her staff. Isobel and Bastian shared dubious looks while Mirri inspected the front of it.

“It clearly is meant to be sit in, but is it just a chair? If so, it wouldn’t have the legs.” Isobel mused, though with her lack of experience with Dwemer creations, she was very doubtful. Mirri looked up and over at the Breton, her lips quirked in a way to show she was considering the suggestion.

“That may be it, but there’s clearly an engine of some kind under this decorative piece.” The Dunmer stated, gently rapping her knuckles on the golden metal. Wylarin, who had been under the machine inspecting what she could, suddenly sat up eagerly, slamming her forehead into the hull of the spider-craft. The other four winced in sympathy, but otherwise waited for what their friend had to say so suddenly.

“That really hurt- Anyways! I know what this is! Or at least what it most likely is. Based on the parts and how they are used, this is essentially a giant Dwarven spider. And this-” She paused to clamber on into the front seat before motioning to the bent rod sitting in front of her, “Is most likely used to steer. It’s a mount! Like a robotic horse that two people can ride at once! Except it’s a spider, but still.” She grinned at her friends, her eyes sparkling with joy and excitement.

“Darling, do you have any idea how to use it? Or turn it on?” Bastian asked, his amused look laced with concern.

“I imagine the steering apparatus is the controls, but as for how to turn it on, there’s a slot that’s perfect to put a soul gem into.” The Bosmer explained, pulling her bag up onto her lap to rummage for a soul gem. Once she had one, she carefully placed it into the slot. Immediately, the dull blue markings on the front lit up and the clearing was filled with the familiar sound of Dwemer machinery at work.

Wylarin let out a sound that was a mix of a scream and a cry of joy, her face looking like a child on Saturnalia.

“It works! Try moving it, try moving it!” Ember cheered, just as excited as Wylarin. Mirri was excited as well, but Isobel and Bastian were much more wary of the vehicle.

Wylarin shifted in the seat to get more comfortable before grabbing both sides of the steering mechanism, a determined look set on her face.

“Alright, here goes nothi-” She cut herself off with a shriek as she pushed the rods forward all the way, sending the spider off at high speed. Right off a hidden ledge.

“Shit!” Bastian cried out, pulling his staff out of it’s holster as he ran with the others to where Wylarin disappeared. When they peered over the ledge, they saw the spider upright and still powered up with Wylarin still seated looking perfectly fine if not a bit startled. When she felt the stares of her friends, she looked over and smiled at them brightly. Bastian sighed and put his staff away, shoulders slumping in relief.

“Maybe someone should ride with you and let you know if you’re gonna run off a ledge again.” Mirri suggested, jumping down from the ledge to better assess if her partner was alright or not. It seemed the other three companions took her suggestion and action as her volunteering herself because they all sat down and got ready to watch what could happen.

When she realized her mistake, the brunette whipped her head around to stare at her other partner, looking at the smug looking Imperial with a look of betrayal, “Basti, you can’t really think I was volunteering, where you?” She asked, her tone laced with mock offense.

Bastian narrowed his eyes at his two partners before smiling coyly at Mirri, “You’ve made your choice so live with it”

Currently still having to rest my hand from the artparty-notetaking combo strain injury, but a guildie has me buzzing in place wanting to play eso again

#the thing with eso and gw2 that make them unplayable when strained (and contributors to it sometimes) is that #i am left handed so my tendons are weaving together into a meaty yarn when i balance wasd with a 1thru0 combat keybinds (plus-#-tab and tilde for targeting and weapon swapping as well as f1+ skills #i have given dodge and 6-0 and special action key and autorun and mounting all mouse keybinds as well to buffer #but it still adds up since my left is doing the brunt of the work strafing and backpedaling and weapon skill hitting #and the desks in school are abysmal by which i mean only one of my classes isnt in an auditorium with a fold-over desk the size of my hand #and the remaining class has desk space that barely holds a notebook #which all put my arm in weird positions that force me to twist my wrist when writing #i now have a cheapass school laptop that is thankfully working quite well so far and has feather-light keys which reduce strain quite a bit #but im still not out of the woods lmao #catch me playing skyrim while i study bc its the lowest strain game i have and i need recreation to not go insane #anyways goodnight wish me luck on my calc quiz. professor and ta were unclear so idk if it's tomorrow or friday or if i have one on both #OH and one more thing. if any of you need a vamp or wolf bite in eso hmu i have multiple chompers of each and it only takes me a second

So in the original story when syke was in her late 20s I had it so she specifically had never had a pet herself. Her brother has pets shes helped with and there mayve been a family pet at some point but she specifically has never had one. When I changed it to her being in her late 30s that just didn't feel right because she does really like animals, BUT I don't think pre base game she would go out of her way to get one because she was mentally not doing very well

So my solution is basically a stray cat adopts her. At first it's just on their property so no one minds cause it eats vermin, then it turns into "well,,,theres not many rats now because he's a good hunter. I'll pick up cat food on my way home"

And eventually its "well,,,its cold at night. Maybe I'll let him inside by the fire"

And so on and so forth until this giant, old, scarred up, mess of a tomcat is unambiguously hers and it follows her around and sleeps in her bed and she loves him very much

Except because of how they met and how long it took her to admit it was her cat, he only answers to "Cat", so that ends up just being his name

What do you cart around?

So. Eso has this problem(ok theres quite a few problems with this game i love) where treasures are only to be sold, and not to be displayed. as someone who started elder scrollsing with oblivion, this hurts my soul.

So uh. Screw that, i’ve decided that to help differentiate and characterise my eso characters, and totally not in protest where im hanging on to these for display purposes when i know it’ll never happen, i’ve started carrying certain treasures around with them! These are either always in their inventory, or placed in their personal house storages!

Does anyone else do this? Feel free to reblog with your own little quirks like this, or even use this to start thinking about treasures to collect!

So here’s some of my examples :D

Tavilo

My slutty dark elf boy who, in actuality is obsessed with chocolate, has no chocolate to obsess over in this game(>:I), so instead i’ve been carrying around a Marble Kwama Egg and a Stuffed Bantam Guar almost since i first started playing. It makes me think he’s maybe a bit homesick when not in morrowind

Asher Mahoney

A comic character, who’s generally a bard when i make him in games. He’s a punk and a bit of an edgelord, or at least likes to think he is. He generally gets alot of lady attention in and out of universe, and really loves cats. I carry around a Tin of Eyeblack with him, because...it’s just too perfect. What a rockstar

Cirilo Cerveau

A generally sweet natured Werewolf who runs a fantastical Library full of thought-to-be long lost histories and records. He’s also obsessed with his Book Club, and really wants people to take part(although they are terribly boring). I’m challenging myself to see how many parchment, information, book style treasures i can keep in his inventory and still function as a player
