A little teaser for the future!Apritello fic I'm writing:

Donnie clutched a hand to his chest dramatically before standing up, pulling out a prototype of the weapon and striking a pose. "Behold the SBL! Designed to deliver a sonic boom directly into the eardrums of our foes to deafen them so we can strike while they're clutching their head and reeling from the pain of a hundred and ten DBs!" He cackled manically as the tiny device hovered into the air and made a tiny beeping noise.

"Uuuuh, did it work?"

"This, my dear blue brother, is just a design test."

Raph gave him a doubtful look. "And will it actually work? Or will it deafen us too?"

"Raphael! Of course it'll work. Are you really going to question my work?"

"Uh, yes." Leo deadpanned.

"Okay, fair. Hurtful, but fair. But! Are you going to question the work of the amazing and wonderfully talented April O'Neil?" He gestured to her as she was mid pizza bite.

April stopped and looked up. "Mmph?"

Leo leant across to Mikey. "See this is what I mean, he's smitten with her," he staged whispered.

Donnie rounded on him, eyes twitching and full of fury. With a SHIIIING his claws sprung up from his battle shell.

Raph leaned over. "You should probably run."

"I'm thinking about it..."

"Leonardo." Donnie took a step forwards. "Brother. Compadre."

"Mmm... you should definitely run."

"Yes, thank you, Michael." Leo slowly stood up, took a deep breath, then bolted out the door.

There was a scramble as Donnie flew after him, and the sounds of screams, threats, and crashes slowly dissolved into a background cacophony.

So I’m rewatching 2012 TMNT s4 and I’ve gotten to the point where the turtles were captured by the triceratons and have to fight in the like gladiator arena.

But, before that the triceratons we’re gonna just kill them and to do so they put them in the airlock and just slowly opened the door and basically tried to suffocate them??

Like- they were literally gasping for air and choking for like a solid 15 seconds before Leo managed to remember a breathing technique master splinter had taught them so they could just..survive?? Without breathing???

And then when they were kicked out of the airlock for not dying and then were saved they just never talked about that again??? Like girl-

Y’all suffocated and almost died in the cold vacuum of space how are you not ok???

Anyways new HC 2012 turts start to freak out when they feel like they can’t breath

My favourite TMNT incarnation

So my first tmnt incarnation that when I was 10, was TMNT 2012. At that I thought it was super cool at the time especially season 3 but I missed season 4 and 5 due to being attracted of other media back then.

I'm 20 years old and my favourite tmnt incarnation is TMNT 2003. The reason it's my reason because I love the writing, the story arcs from season 1-4 but season 5 feels a bit odd but it's still fun to watch tho. And contray to other people's feeling about the turtles personality, I think their written well and I relate to them like a LOT especially Donnie and Leo but for me Raph's and Mikey's behaviour are understandable to me(smacking is bad irl, but I get it lol) as someone who lives in a sibling of 4, (I'm a third child). I have a lot to say but apparently I currently don't have the words for it right now. But I still love ROTTMNT especially after the movie, their fun to watch and it's nice that their designs and roles are different, it's super fun to watch. I love ROTTMNT a lot but somewhat I just really adore TMNT 2003 a lot more than any tmnt incarnation at this point I'm sorry

Extra: I love TMNT 2007 for the turtles design because they look so hot(especially Leo because I'm just a leo stan most of the time). The movie is just mid because as much as some parts of it the fight and rooftop jump scene at the end is cool but there's not enough turtle boys moment being turtle boys. It's mostly not a clear to the why Leo is sent to training? or is Donnie like chosen as a temporary leader? Not to mention, robbed sequels that center or Mikey and Donnie(I'm still bitter about it but welp what to do).

I will never be over Leo’s 4D chess play in “Many Unhappy Returns”. Like, just in general it is a spectacle to see this character who we’ve seen goofing around time and time again, who’s only sometimes decided to take things seriously, only to show him making a maneuver like that.

And here’s what gets me the most about his plan against Big Mama: he comes up with it on the spot. The second he sees that Big Mama has the solution they need, he’s already in game mode.

It is so satisfying watching the episode back when you realize his plan, because he literally sets the stage entirely for a decisive victory. He sees that the champion is a kraken, and comes up with both the solution to defeating it and a reasonable excuse to get that solution into the battle with them on the fly:

“Like your champ aaand those six guys. In fact, we don’t want this over too quickly. You should armor up those rookies. The whole shebang. Especially with these pointy helmets.”

And this is why giving him teleportation powers is perfect, too. He analyzes the battlefield and makes use of all the assets, moving pieces around to guarantee a win. It is honestly so impressive to witness and one of my favorite parts of his character.

One of the interesting things that I don’t see brought up about Leo is the fact that he’s actually kind of crazy smart. Like, no one brings up the fact that not only was he able to re-function Sheldon, but he was smart enough to know how Donnie's technology works in order to do it.

My idea is that he doesn’t quite understand it, and he’s definitely not on par with Donnie's intelligence, but he’s a close observer and listens enough to Donnie's ramblings that he can figure it out with a bit of tinkering. It doesn’t work very well and it may try to kill him, but he is able to do it, which is still impressive.
