Sunny Day Jack - Villainess AU Headcanons
I’ve been on a real fantasy kick lately, and that’s not stopping with post. This is a plot bunny that’s been hopping around in my mind for a while, and it snatched up my Dragon Jack AU headcanons from the previous posts, along with the tragic short story of Alice remembering how she died in her past life as Mary to become a bigger bunny. This is the long overdue and previously teased Villainess AU!
Content warnings before we begin: this post touches on topics of infidelity, betrayal, yandere obsession, attempted mind control, death, chronic illness, trauma, and a bit of spice to lighten it up. This shouldn’t get too dark or smutty, but who knows where indulging in my OTP will take me?
On that note, I might wind up using some art from the game/teasers/merch/etc. in this post, so I’m going to go ahead and give a shout out to SnaccPop Studios’ patreon. Consider joining to see some exclusive stuff! Credit to them for this game that has given me plot bunnies that are constantly multiplying.
Anyway, the villainess genre, for those unaware, is a subgenre of the transmigrator genre, which in turn is a subgenre of isekai stories. Typically it takes an otome - a dating sim game aimed at women with a female protagonist - and has the world within that story be real. The main character, a fan of the dating sim, is reborn in the world of this dating sim, not as the protagonist, but as the evil villainess rival who gets in the protagonist’s way and inevitably meets a terrible end regardless of the route taken, often going through much humiliation in the process. The main character then has to avoid her horrible fate and overturns the original story, oftentimes becoming the one the love interests are drawn to instead of the original female protagonist.
Naturally, there are stories that tweak the formula around and subvert expectations, but that’s the basic gist of the genre.
Now Something’s Wrong with Sunny Day Jack is a dating sim, but there’s a distinct lack of a villainess character involved in the plot, which makes sense since Jack fills the antagonist role in every route pretty well. This means that a villainess AU would have the world of the in-universe game be different from the game that we can actually play in our world over on steam and itch. If you’d like to see my ideas on an isekai that takes place in the game as we know it, check it out in this previous post over here.
So let’s start with the AU’s in-universe game itself, and what classic otome roles our favorite male leads might take. While I could cast Ian in the prince role once again like I did with the dragon AU and the fantasy incubus Jack AU, I think we all know who the real ruler of SDJ is.
Thus Jack gets the role of the crown prince. Now, we could have this be a standard fantasy kingdom, but I feel inclined to give it a SunnyTime Town AU twist. Much like in the Aphrodisia crossover Mafia AU, our favorite clown family is a powerful ruling family, only with magic and clown gimmicks instead of guns. Shaun, Nick, and Ian aren’t their typical selves in this universe, but they too get a nice colorful makeover and some spiffy titles, as shown in these limited edition trading cards. Thanks to Crispy for sharing pictures of the cards, and credit to Sauce for creating the amazing artwork in the first place.
Since we’re talking about the cards, how about we shake things up and leave the star of the show for last so we can show off the clown counterparts of the other three male leads.

Ian Duff has the title of Sir Sweet Dreams, and is a knight in this AU, part of the illustrious order of the Night-Knights. His hair is a shade of violet-blue, with face paint that gives him some blue splotches and stars. The Duffs are a noble family, and Ian struggles with the weight of obligation as the firstborn son. He’s not suited for combat, being a pacifist at heart. The otome’s main character (who I will call OMC for simplicity) would help Ian choose his heart over his duty when going down his route, and fight for the future that he wants instead of what his family expects.
Tumblr media
Shaun Durand-Cofer is a member of the mage tower, with white and gray face paint and glowing golden eyes, given the nickname of Glad-Pire due to his cheerful personality and his specialization in studying the secrets of dark magic. He’s still our favorite goth butterball, even as a magical clown, and he has MoonPie as his familiar. In the original otome game, OMC would help him deal with the doubts that he’s been having about studying dark magic. He’s been a great benefit to the kingdom, but many are suspicious of his motives, not trusting dark magic in any form, and his relatives are ashamed of him despite the good he’s done.
Tumblr media
Nick Herrera’s clown identity with his white and blue face paint is an interesting one, with the title of Sous Chef Sweetly, his job in the trading cards is very different from his employment in the game. Now, typically fantasy otome games don’t have our OMC romancing a chef, but they do have love interests who are wonderful at cooking. Regardless if he is a sous chef or a dom in this universe, Nick is a member of the nobility, and is quite popular with people. He has countless suitors wanting his hand, and he’s known as a ladies’ (and more) man. However, despite his reputation and charming personality, in reality he’s just a shy dork who struggles to make a genuine human connection. In the otome game, OMC sees past his status and reputation that others have placed on him, and sees him for the awkward guy he is deep down inside.
Tumblr media
Finally, let’s talk about Jack, or rather him and the rest of the Blouin family. King Marceau and Queen Lucy rule together over this colorful country, and are known to be just and fair. Jack, their second born child, is crown prince and heir to the throne. Their eldest child, Jane, would have been next in line if she didn’t make it very clear from an early age that she did not want the role. She would rather travel the world as a free spirit, not weighed down by the weight of the crown, so she left it to her little brother to take care of in her place.
Fortunately, Jack has accepted his role with dignity and grace. He’s known to always be smiling, a prince everyone admires and desires. Deep down though, he has insecurities about everyone only seeing him for the title of king that he will one day inherit. They see the prince first and Jack second. He always had the option to pass on the role to his younger sibling, but young Jo is a sensitive soul, and Jack couldn’t force them to carry such a heavy burden. He accepted the role of heir from Jane gladly, and he was always sure he could handle it, but doubts creep in that OMC helps him work through as they see Jack for who he is and not for the crown he must one day wear.
Now, the role of the villainess in these games is to act as a romantic rival, the person who stands in the way of OMC getting together with one of the love interests. There can be one that gets in OMC’s way no matter who they pursue, or each love interest could have a “villainess” who gets together with them should the OMC fail their route. Typically, if there’s at least one villainess, she’s engaged to one of the love interests in an arranged marriage set up by their parents. She’s also obsessed with power, and typically the crown prince. This is why she’s usually the prince’s fiancee, who is clearly unfit to be queen.
But why not make things a bit spicier? The villainess in this otome game is an arranged marriage to Ian, but she wants to marry Prince Jack instead to become queen. In Ian’s route, she abuses him similarly to his mother, making him feel like he’s not good enough for her. However, when OMC gets closer to Ian in his route, they get on the villainess’ nerves and she gives them a hard time despite not actually caring for Ian. It’d be like seeing someone steal your toy away when you weren’t ready to discard it. The general vibe is, “I don’t want him, but no one else is allowed to have what’s mine!”
For Shaun’s route, the villainess would be tricking him, using his knowledge of black magic for selfish ends without him realizing it. In the bad end, he would be arrested and executed for treason, as the villainess used him to help her make a love potion that she used on Prince Jack. She, of course, also is executed, because the villainess doesn’t win regardless of the route. The OMC would have to find out about the villainess’ schemes to clear Shaun’s name and prevent the potion from being used.
In Nick’s route, the villainess is jealous of his popularity. He’s also probably a stepping stone in her plots to bewitch and seduce the prince. She’s less of a central antagonist in this route for the OMC, but still an annoyance that gets a bad end regardless of how Nick’s route ends, because the villainess having countless bad ends is kind of the punchline.
Then of course there’s Jack’s route. Naturally, being the one the villainess is lusting after and wants to bewitch, the conflict with the OMC is more pronounced in this route for obvious reasons. OMC must stop the villainess’ countless bullying tactics and schemes in order to have a happy ending.
Basically, it’s the classic otome game setup, with a touch of colorful clown face paint for flare.
Now, the actual MC, the character we’d be playing as in this AU, would be a fan of the otome game. Perhaps playing it is their guilty pleasure. They’re familiar with all the routes. Then, one day, they wake up in the body of the villainess in classic transmigrator isekai fashion.
Although the role of villainess is typically for cis females, MC is whatever gender we decide they should be. There’s a lot of possibilities to explore how an AMAB MC might react to suddenly having an AFAB body, or perhaps whatever force of the universe that made them take the role changed it so that the “villainess” is whatever gender MC was in their previous life, or whatever gender that is true to them.
MC would then be left with the choice of how to handle living in this world and the role they were expected to play. The obvious solution would be to avoid anything having to do with the OMC or seducing Jack, but typically it’s not that easy for the MC to avoid the other characters in a villainess story, especially if they’re engaged to Ian. This is especially true if they start feeling attracted to Jack despite knowing the many bad ends that might await them down that path.
There’s a lot of variables with a general MC and how that would affect the villainess character, as well as what they made of that character. That’s why this ramble took a while to make. I got too caught up on the broader picture, and kept waffling back and forth on things.
So let’s narrow our focus, shall we?
Alice takes the role of villainess in this story. In the original game, the character Alice is spoiled, greedy, vain, gluttonous, and just an overall unpleasant rival that is meant to be the clear-cut bad guy that the player should take great pleasure in seeing get a most unpleasant and humiliating end. You know, the typical chubby antagonist whose weight is the reason why they are deemed repulsive and the butt of the universe’s jokes.
In a way, Alice is forced to take up an unpleasant role like her acting teacher warned her she would be pigeonholed into in the main universe. Only, in this case, she’s expected to live the part.
Of course, unlike a lot of stories in this genre where the villainess starts off chubby and goes through a story arc where they quickly lose weight, Alice is going to stay chubby in this AU, because as long as one is healthy, their size and shape doesn’t matter. It won’t stop people from making fun of her for her size, but it also won’t stop her from being beautiful and worthy of love.
Since this is a reincarnation story, naturally Alice’s previous incarnation was Mary. Since otome games weren’t really a thing in the USA in the early 80’s, the world would instead be based off of a storybook, or a series of stories. It could even be a tween romance series where the main character romances a different guy in the same setting, something super self-indulgent where the protagonist may as well be a build-it-yourself OC with how little detail they have. In this AU, it was a series that was a guilty pleasure when Mary was young that she probably cringed at when looking at it again later in life.
It would also provide a huge tonal whiplash to suddenly find herself in the role of such a series’ villainess after dying such a sad and lonely death in the hospital. Instead of waking up in the comforting arms of her lover in the next life, she wakes up in a lavish mansion with memories of the character she was reborn to play blending in with her sad former life.
It would be interesting if, as a kid, Mary envied the OMC for all the adventures and love she got, only to go back to the series as an adult and see all the awful messages. Many protagonists in the genre wind up empathizing with the villainess, seeing where the story painted them in an unfair light, and things about Alice in the story wound up striking too close to home now that she saw them as an adult, and the OMC is a lot more childish and self-centered than she remembered.
It’d still be strange for anyone to wake up in the role of an antagonist they sympathized with, especially when their last memory was filled with so much grief, pain, and trauma.
While I am tempted that Alice just wakes up one day with Mary’s memories, I think it would be more fitting that they were triggered. In the original story, the first time Alice saw the crown prince at a party, she fell obsessively in love with him. However, in this case, his familiar face reminded her instantly of Joseph, and struck her with a painful nostalgia that rocked her to her core, awakening her memories of her previous life and how she died.
Alice collapses from the shock on the spot. All the memories of pain and love colliding and blending in with this new reality hit her all at once, overwhelming her completely. To onlookers, she’s a noble lady who merely fainted, possibly swooning at the sight of the crown prince, or because of some sudden illness.
It, understandably, takes Alice a while to reconcile the two sets of memories… especially when she realizes that she’s been reborn in the world of a story with many possible endings… as the hated villainess who is going to meet one of many awful ends.
Alice grieves for Joseph and everything she lost as Mary all over again. Prince Jack is so painfully similar to Joseph… especially if the SunnyTime Crew Show existed in her previous life. It’d be so shockingly coincidental, too coincidental, and it’d be hard for her to know what to make of it. Even if the show and the character of Sunny Day Jack didn’t exist, she would still wonder if maybe, just maybe, she wasn’t the only one reborn.
At the same time, Alice knows the original story. The Alice in the story was obsessed over Jack. What if she goes down the same path, leading to the doom of not only herself, but possibly even her family who enabled the villainess’ rampage in the series?
Since Alice would regain her memories the first time she saw Jack, it would most likely be a point in time before the stories were supposed to begin, perhaps even when she is still a child before she gains that villainess reputation in the first place. It might be fitting too, since the first time she and Joseph met was as children. In a way, it’s like they had their first meeting all over again, only she’s the one who needed to be taken away for medical assistance.
This leaves Alice in a difficult place. Should she find out if Jack really is Joseph? What if he doesn’t remember their past lives? What if she’s wrong and the universe is playing yet another cruel joke on the villainess Alice?
What if this is why the character Alice was so dangerously obsessed over Jack? The story was primarily focused on the OMC, not really touching on the reasons why Alice was so desperate to be with Jack beyond an apparent desire for power. The stories never really talked about her family, which Mary is surprised is so loving, even to the point of spoiling Alice. She wished for a family who loved her this much, and now she has it. She’s not alone anymore.
The original story has so many paths that lead to her doom. Mary Phoenix is dead, and she is now Alice of house Rose. There was nothing left for her in the life she left, and in this new life she doesn’t hurt like she used to. She has so much more in this life, everything she dreamed of during those long and lonely nights she spent sick in her room.
The only thing missing is her starlight, but… if he would be happier without her… she’ll leave Jack be. The prince in the stories was always disgusted by the villainess and adored the OMC no matter what route the OMC took. Mary helped Joseph get the job of Sunny Day Jack that led to his death. If Prince Jack really is Joseph reborn like she suspects, he’s loved by all. She knows from the stories and what she has heard that he has a loving family, and the love of an entire kingdom.
Perhaps the best thing for Alice to do is to be content with the life she has now. She has a loving family, wealth enough to do practically anything she wants, status, and, well, Ian was a sweet character. They’re not engaged yet at this time, but maybe an arranged marriage with him wouldn’t be so bad? She had met him before regaining her memories as Mary, and he seemed quite nice. Also, as a reader she did think that the villainess Alice would’ve been happier if she just was satisfied with her fiance Ian.
It doesn’t change the fact that Alice still misses Joseph. She still loves him more than anything. The pain of his death is fresh in her mind. Would it really be so selfish just to see if perhaps Jack really is her starlight reborn? Would she still be a villainess wanting to have some sort of relationship with him? She’s not the character Alice. She won’t be so cruel, and certainly wouldn’t use mind altering potions on anybody.
Alice is left torn on what the right thing to do is. The story ends miserably for her in so many ways, but this isn’t a story, this is her reality now. Love taken too far can become obsession. What if she projects her memories of Joseph onto Jack? That wouldn’t be fair to him. He might never remember… or he might be someone else entirely. He might just look like her starlight, with the name of the character he played when he died, the same character she came up with as the show’s writer. The same role that led to his death. It would be so cruel if he wasn’t Joseph, but then again, this world is very cruel to its villainess.
It’s this sort of internal war that keeps Alice secluded from the world and society for a while. She needs time to sort through these memories and thoughts. She needs to grieve and remember the story to figure out what the right path forward is. This seclusion and sudden drastic change in her mood worries her family. They don’t know what’s wrong with her, and she won’t open up to them, as there’s no way to explain without sounding like a lunatic.
Eventually, Alice would come to the conclusion that she should keep a respectable distance between her and Jack. If he is Joseph and remembers her… it’s all she could ask for. But she won’t go down the path of forcing it. She won’t force him to have a relationship, to love her, and she certainly won’t force him to be what she wants. She will accept that Joseph is dead and that she must move on and somehow find a happy ending despite the role she has been given. Whatever relationship she might have with Jack in the future, she won’t forcefully bind him to her just because of a past that was now dead.
Jack, however, has different plans.
Come on, you can’t expect me to let things end like that for my OTP. I’m a sucker for happy endings after all. Besides, we’ve still got to add some yandere spice to the mix even if Alice is refusing to play the part like the villainess character did.
Despite Alice’s fears, Jack is indeed Joseph reborn. He has a passing familiarity with the story, since he knew that it was Mary’s favorite series as a child. He took interest in the things she liked, even if they didn’t resonate with him the way it did with her. However, the original story doesn’t matter to him. The instant he saw his sunshine’s face for the first time, he knew, he just knew that he couldn’t let her go.
Just like Alice has trauma from her death, Jack does as well. Whatever supernatural curse bound Joseph to the tape led to the pair being reborn in this world. Perhaps he figured out a way to escape his hell, or change its form, leading to the creation of this world while also bringing Mary’s soul into this new world he created. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that Mary was the one who came up with the concept of the SunnyTime Crew show in the first place and was one of the writers. Perhaps the wish she made at the end of her life changed both their fates, and she was the one responsible for this world’s existence. Perhaps it was a mixture of all these things, or something else entirely that led to this situation. For all we know, a trickster god decided to meddle with things to give them a new life where they might have a second chance.
Perhaps a trickster dragon god who wants to see her OTP live a new life in a different world where they can be happy together and is a fan of the villainess transmigration genre. ;3
Whatever the case, Jack won’t let anyone take his sunshine away. He isn’t Joseph anymore. They can have a fresh start, a new life without the sins of Joseph Cullman to weigh him down. He can create the life for the two of them that he always wished to make. He can be whatever he wants to be, including a prince charming that will give his sunshine whatever her heart desires.
The time Jack spent in hell left him with nightmares of cold nights, lost and alone even before consciously remembering his past life. He clung to his family more because of it, being somewhat of a spoiled baby, but their love helped him not feel so alone. Even still, something was missing, a hole in his heart that ached to be filled.
Being a prince, Jack sees countless faces. He has to remember so many people in order to be a good king one day. He often goes to parties to greet countless nobles, but none of them caught his attention like Alice.
Initially, Jack didn’t see Alice in the crowd, staring at him with wide eyes. It was the commotion that caught his attention. He heard one of the young ladies had fainted. The knights were on alert, worried about foul play. They ushered the prince to safety, but Jack dragged his feet, he kept looking back.
Then Jack caught a glimpse of her, the girl being carried off by a servant or a worried parent. Her sickly pale face was so familiar… he couldn’t place it. He struggled a little harder, wanting a better look at her, but the knights were stronger and urged him away. Something inside him screamed to go back. He had to see her properly, look in her eyes, which were twisted tightly closed.
For some reason he was certain that her eyes were a distinct shade of blue.
Jack couldn’t get Alice out of his mind. He found out her name after things calmed down. She had gotten sick. What was wrong? Oh, the family couldn’t say for sure. That wasn’t good enough of an answer for Jack. He needed to know what happened, if she was okay. He had to see her.
The glimpse of Alice was like a crack in the wall that separated Jack from his memories of Joseph. He had painful flashes, nightmares of a life filled with regrets that only had a few shining moments of happiness.
The brightest light in that darkened life was the one with eyes the color of the sky at dawn.
Jack kept petitioning to visit Alice, under the excuse that he wanted to wish her well, see if she was alright in person, but the Rose family politely declined each time. His concern was appreciated, but she was too unwell for visitors.
It drove Jack crazy, and it brought back memories of a hospital, of a woman whose life hung by a thread. More than once Joseph had to take Mary to the hospital even before her final days there. Being unable to see her also made him feel lonely in a way that he hadn’t felt in so, so long. He felt so very, very cold.
At some point Jack remembered names. He remembered Mary, Joseph, and the tragic way his life and career ended with exposed sins and gunfire. He also remembered what came after, the cold emptiness and pain that tore away at him, his desperation for someone, anyone to save him, to remember that he was still there.
Jack struggled with reconciling these memories. He wanted to escape from them, but at the same time he couldn’t let go of Mary, the girl who looked so much like Alice. The memories of the story that made up the world he lived in were vague, something he remembered far later, but for now he just had to meet Alice, if only to settle the dissonance that had overtaken his mind.
The change in Jack was noticed, of course, and his family were concerned about him. He quickly remembered how to hide how he felt behind a smile. The more he remembered of the actor known as [Redacted], the better he could play the part of the cheerful, smiling prince. Being a prince really wasn’t that much different than being a kids TV show host and teacher after all. He just needed to put on a good show for everyone.
When Alice had recovered enough to leave her bedroom and try to live her new life, she was shocked to learn that the prince wanted to see her, and was surprisingly insistent about it. Although her family said that she didn’t have to see him if she was still unwell, she couldn’t turn him down. She had to see him, talk to him at least once. Then maybe, just maybe, she could figure out what she should do.
The moment they met, Alice tried to act like a proper lady, to not let on how seeing Jack face to face made her heart ache so much. She curtsied and greeted him as she was polite instead of giving in to the part of her that just wanted to throw herself into his arms and cry.
Those eyes of hers were just as bright and blue as Jack knew they would be. He knew that he was right. Alice was Mary, his sunshine. She acted as if she didn’t recognize him, but maybe it was better that way. They could start over as Jack and Alice. They could forget all the mistakes, all the pain.
This time, Jack would do everything right.
Jack was charming during their meeting. He expressed concern about Alice fainting at the party, offering her a gift that left her confused and a bit flustered by the attention. His behavior was so kind and princely… but he didn’t recognize her. She couldn’t be sure this was Joseph or just someone with his face. Spending time with him was both wonderful and made her heart ache with longing. If she was to keep herself from becoming obsessed with him, she knew by the end of the night that she would have to keep her distance.
Of course, Jack would never allow that. He started sending Alice letters, visited her often, and invited her to the palace. Despite the painful nostalgia of their past, the time they spent together was a joy to both of them. Alice laughed at his dumb jokes for the first time in what felt like forever. It was so hard not to simply fall in love with him all over again in spite of herself.
Though they were getting closer, Jack couldn’t risk anything getting between them. By this point, he remembered some elements of the story, just the broadest strokes, but they were enough for him to remember the roles they were supposed to play… and how the “villainess” would inevitably meet a tragic fate.
In many storybook isekai stories, the protagonist writes down everything they can about the original story so they don’t forget it. I, like many readers, wonder what would happen if someone else was to come across these notes, but that plot point never comes up again.
So what if Jack, when visiting Alice one day, snoops through her things, and finds her notes about the original story? It could be what makes him remember the original series in the first place. It was so long ago since he read it, and he wasn’t a fan of it after all. His memories would be far more faint than Alice’s would be.
So many routes lead to awful deaths for Alice in this series. It’s sadistic to its villainess - banishment, imprisonment, beheading, assassination, poisoning, turning into a monster, and many other countless awful ends. There are some notes she added of potential counter-measures to escape these awful fates… including a note that she can’t let herself fall in love with Prince Jack.
Well now… Jack isn’t about to allow their story to meet a tragic end in any respect. Never again.
Jack is going to change the story, and the first change is to make sure that Alice gets engaged to him instead of Ian. Oh, his parents are surprised when he brings it up. They were going to let him choose who he wanted to marry when he was older, rather than force a choice, but Jack was adamant that he wanted to marry Alice. Arranging a marriage isn’t uncommon for nobility, and in fact talks had been going on between the Rose family and the Duff family for a while now, but those are swiftly ended.
Needless to say, Alice is shocked by the change in the narrative. She was already surprised that Jack liked her and went out of his way to spend time with her instead of avoiding her like in the books, but an engagement? Should she be happy or worried? He reminds her of Joseph, but he is different now. Is he really her starlight?
When meeting Jack next, Alice tries sounding him out. She tries to subtly bring up things about their past that only Mary and Joseph would know. Jack doesn’t acknowledge these things, redirecting conversations and distracting Alice so she doesn’t try again. If she tries being more forceful, it causes Jack to be shaken up, not wanting to be Joseph anymore, and she immediately backs off at seeing his distress. Even if she wants answers, she can’t stand the idea of hurting Jack.
The question never gets neatly resolved for Alice about whether Jack is really Joseph, but it’s hard for her not to be swept up by him. He always had a way of charming her, and they have so much fun together. Even if they are new people now, they fit so neatly together, like two puzzle pieces. Despite her resolve not to fall in love, he keeps finding ways of making her heart flutter in spite of herself.
There’s also the looming fear of the OMC and Jack falling in love with her like he did in the story, but Alice is all too aware that the story has changed. Hell, her awareness changes it in and of itself. Plus the original story was a series of stories with different routes, with no true timeline. She has no idea how the OMC is going to change things whenever she finally appears.
Alice and Jack grow up together like they did in their previous lives, only this time nothing is forcing them apart. In their own ways, they make alterations to the original story without letting the other know in order to make sure Alice won’t face a tragic end. Jack at times takes a bit more direct action against those who would hurt his sunshine.
Suffice to say, Alice falls in love with Jack in spite of herself, and eventually the truth that Jack remembers will be revealed. It’ll hurt Alice that he hid it all this time, especially since it would have reassured her so much that he remembered too. There’s going to be some drama, but in the end they love each other and want to be together. Even if the reveal might hurt after lying for so long, Alice will forgive Jack. In the end, she’ll always forgive her starlight.
In the end, Alice and Jack have their happily ever after. The memories might have left scars on their hearts, the past might have had such pain and darkness, but they can move forward. They can heal, find love and so many new connections in this life. Most of all, they’ll always find their way back to each other. Their love will bind them together forever.
As for the OMC… perhaps they get together with Ian in the end. I mean, Ian does cheat on MC in the original SDJ game, and he plays the role of the love interest who cheats with the protagonist despite being engaged in the in-universe otome game. It’d be narratively fitting.
Plus it would be kind of funny if, regardless of Jack remembering or any other connection like with Alice/Mary, MC tried to avoid their bad end by staying faithful to their fiance Ian and accept the arranged marriage… only to be cheated on when the OMC comes along, similar to the Ian route in the original story.
Man, wouldn’t it hurt even worse if MC sincerely fell in love with Ian, vowing not to cheat like the villainess did, only to wind up being the one cheated on in the end. Wouldn’t that be a kick in the teeth?
That’s pretty much all the ideas I have for the villainess AU I have for now, but it feels weird to leave it on a sour note, so here’s one last bit of fluffy OTP self-indulgence.
Jack isn’t going to wait for the wedding night to seduce Alice, though he is going to be eager to have their wedding as soon as possible. Also, in a bit of narrative irony, he’s going to be the one to get the mage’s tower to make a potion for him, but not a love potion. He would never force his sunshine to do anything she doesn’t want to do. It’s more of a potion made for loving if you catch my drift.
After all, what’s a fantasy AU with a horny male lead without some magical aphrodisiacs? Nothing to influence the will or remove consent, but it does make the skin and other places very sensitive. It’s just a little added spice after they become intimate to make Alice respond so strongly to his every touch and burn for Jack all the more.
Jack could take some as well, though he doesn't need an aphrodisiac for Alice to drive him crazy. Every time she touches him, he burns so badly for her, so desperate and needy. It took everything he could to hold himself back until she finally gave in to her feelings and loved him despite fears of the original story and their pasts. Suggesting they have a little fun with aphrodisiacs just makes things a little more fair by giving Jack a chance to drive Alice with crazy with desire for a change~
I hope it wasn’t too meandering of a ramble, hahaha. Maybe I’ll come back to this plot bunny again sometime. I hope you enjoyed it!

I love the Good Omens AU and come up with some dialogue thingy, it's how I work on comics but I didn't think I'd draw them this time, so I'll just post them in case anyone interest and manifest them into fic—
Good Omens AU Demon: Benji, Lane, Ilsa Angel: Ethan, Luther, Brandt
Benji's evil plans always got intercept by Ethan, one day he's on the edge of tears, Ethan's heart absolutely can't handle it.
B: Lane must blow me into pieces this time 😭 E: Oh, I'd hate that… Maybe we could come to a middle ground? B: What? E: I'd let you cutting the city wifi down for 10 mins instead of an hour. B: 10? That's too short! 30 mins E: 20 B: Deal
-----------------------------------------
Benji working on his tablet like Hehehe E: What're you doing?" B: Oh just encouraging online discord, spamming messages, pirate movies… E: What's wrong with movies about pirate? B: Wh— no, that's not— well, at least you know what a movie is. E: Ofc, it's a play on a screen. B: Pretty much yep, what's your favorite? E: My favorite?? B: …You've never watched any don't you? E: No? B: C'mon let me show you some of the best!
Process to show gore zombie movie *cough shaun of the dead cough*, at first Ethan made a face at it then he noticed something and said to Benji "This movie is so sweet", Benji is confused as hell. Aka Ethan's way to turn every horror movies into wholesome shit.

i know you said that franziska being declawed in the Gyaku Shaun Sai Hanri au was mostly for metaphorical purposes and you didn't want to dive *too* deep into the logistics of it, but i was wondering for the sake of the metaphor- was it an accident or on purpose? and if it was on purpose, who was the one who pushed it to happen? is edgeworth also declawed?
Funnily enough I expanded on that point and made it a part of the worldbuilding so this is a well-timed ask. While initially Franziska being declawed was just a reason for her to use a whip despite having Natural Weapons (tm), as I kept developing the AU having / showing claws kinda became this extended metaphor for the performance of masculinity
Manfred has his claws out all the time as a way to intimidate and create a presence, as do other characters who are trying to be extremely masculine, intimidating, or scary (Tigre, Simon, Daryan). Klavier also has his claws out as part of his bad boy rockstar image, which is why his hands / paws are often in his pockets when he’s off-stage— he doesn’t want to hurt or scare anyone!
This is also used in the opposite context— Dahlia and Kristoph hide their hands or don’t show their claws much to appear less threatening. In the same way that claws have a masculine connotation, their lack is seen as feminine, which is why Franziska is declawed. It was intentional and she accepted it happening bc it was seen as a necessary evil to perform femininity correctly. However, because she mimics her father’s tactics and wants a way to be seen / respected in the courtroom, she got the whip as an alternative to achieve the same effect. As to why Franziska / cats are declawed and not any other species in this society of sapient animals… idk it’s a AA-world German thing ig??????

Just saw the Yu Gi Oh post where you gave Desmond a deck based around Ezio being one of his main cards and it reminded me that when i finished reading Esama's Loose Ends, i wrote down an idea i got. XD
Basically, Desmond gets sent to the Yu Gi Oh verse as a card and in a fun twist, we can send Shaun, Rebecca and Bill after him some months later. In this AU, Abstergo never got Desmonds body, there was just some blood stains near the Eye(enough for Sample 17). This leads Bill to desperatly search for his son and in the beginning Shaun and Rebecca help him, but as the months go by and nothing comes up, they start losing hope.
Not Bill though. He is adamant that his son is still alive, the Apple told him so. Eventually the Brotherhood send Shaun and Rebecca after him to get the Apple back and to stop this madness. Bill though, has found out that his son is in an alternate reality and there is a PoE that can get him there. Just as he activatesthe device, Shaun and co. catch up to him and gets transported too.
All of them wake up to a world where children fight multi million dollar tournaments with real monsters summoned from cards... WTF??? Bill is still adamantly searching for Desmond and when asking around, he hears people talk about "hoping to see Desmond in action" at the next tournament. When they get there though, it is not just Desmond he sees, but a bunch of Assassins... as the monsters controlled by people. All their eyes are a soulless white and then everyone goes wild as Desmond gets summonee to the field... Bill found his son. Now he needs to free him.
.
So yeah, the idea is that Desmond and his ancestors are being controlled by whatever evil corporation rules in the Yu Gi Oh verse(sorry, my knowledge about this series is very limited XD) and it's up to Bill, Shaun and Rebecca to save Desmond and stop the evil guys, with the help of these random children that insist they can help.
"Do you guys even know how to play Dual Monsters?"
"... Fiiiiine, you can help"
Heres's the wall of text i wrote down in a flurry of words about Desmond as the card. XD
Yu gi oh x AC crossover idea: After the Eye Desmond ends up in the Yu Gi Oh verse as a card. He has multiple stages to his card and his theme is that at first he can't attack and monsters are forced to defend him until a certain number has been met and he transforms into a form that can attack. His first form is a chained up ball of golden feathers called Desmond The Chained One. His 2nd form is called Desmond The Free One and has him sever his chains and fly free, but the chains remain on him(he is in simple clothes reminiscent of his hoodie and jeans). His 3rd form is called Desmond The Awakened One and has him hold an Apple of Eden and his clothes become the robes of the Assassins. His last form is Desmond The Sacrificed One and along with the Apple, he has the Eye in front if him. In this form his chains are finally gone and the player can choose to either sacrifice him to protect every card on the battle field from a spell or effect that would destroy a monster or they can sacrifice everything and let Desmond remain. In his 2nd form he gains the ability to summon other Assassin cards(Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad The Eagle, Ezio Auditore The Hunter, Ratonhnhaké:ton The Furious, Edward Kenway The Pirate, Haytham Kenway The Leader etc) to aid him. His 3rd also gains the ability to sacrifice a card to take control of an enemy until the end of the turn.
Here’s the link to the Altaïr possesses Desmond ala Yami Yugi idea and my idea for Desmond’s OP deck for those curious
I only fully watched the series with Yugi in it so I’ll suggest that, instead of an evil corporation, we just have Desmond be part of the new cards that are part of some kind of ‘promotional tournament’. This way we can put this in any of the series/season you want and it’ll become more or less a ‘filler arc’ XD
Okay, my suggestion is for the criteria to change forms is that ‘discarding’ or ‘losing’ a number of cards to ‘evolve’ Desmond.
For Desmond to become Desmond The Free One, 3 cards must be discarded or lose regardless of who lost it (the player or the opponent). BUT Desmond must already be in the field for those cards to count. Any cards lost before Desmond is in the field is not part of the count. This includes magic and trap cards.
To get Desmond the Awakened One, the player must discard or lose 3 cards (this includes the cards that the player has already sacrificed for Desmond’s 2nd form).
And for Desmond to become the Desmond The Sacrificed One, it’s more specific: the cards Altaïr, Ezio, and Ratonhnhaké:ton must be discarded or defeated in the field. Of course, if they have already been sacrificed, that still counts. But here’s the thing though…
Desmond the Sacrificed One doesn’t summon any Assassin cards. He forces the players to summon them as long as they are in the player’s hand and there is a free spot in the field. Any time he summons an Assassin, he can no longer attack or use his control skill and he prioritizes summoning Altaïr, Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton.
AND he has a special ‘passive skill’ with the Altaïr, Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton cards. He will always take the first hit of those cards per turn. This means that, the opponent could easily whittle down Desmond’s health by attacking Altaïr, Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton only once.
This is mitigated by:
Desmond cannot be directly attacked or removed from the field as long as there is an Assassin card in the field
He heals 10% of his total HP for every Altaïr, Ezio and Ratonhnhaké:ton cards in the field per start of the player's turn.
The Aegis shield can be equipped to Desmond and it will take 50% of any damages that is aimed at Desmond until its shield is depleted.
Edward’s passive skill “Protecting the Future” where Edward can take the damage that would prove to be a killing blow for the cards Ratonhnhaké:ton, Haytham Kenway and Jennifer Scott also applies to Desmond.
The magic card “You are an Auditore” which heals 30% of the health of any Auditore cards in the field and that includes any ‘Kenway’ on the field also affects Desmond.
Equipping Altaïr or Ezio with the Armor of Altaïr (there’s also two copies of them in the deck) halves all damages they take and Desmond only receives 1/3 of the damage when his passive activates.
Keeping Desmond the Sacrificed One also heralds a permanent field effect. All monsters other than Desmond take damage every start of the turn. The field is called ‘Remnants of the Sun’s Wrath”.

Fright Night AU ramble
one day I'll give this a proper post with well thought out thoughts but just make due with this
----
Fright Night. FUCKING. Fright Night. This is the vampire series for me. While you hoes were waiting for Rob Pattinson to peak after Twilight, I had this. Your Boyfriend, nor John Doe, nor even Sunny Day Jack wasn’t my introduction to erotic horror – this was. It may not have been named such in genre. But to me, it defined the very essence of it. Blood, sex, suspense, even comedy. You want it, it has it.
The premise itself is pretty simple. A high schooler named Charlie Brewster spies on his new neighbor, Jerry Dandridge, as he’s hooking up with a prostitute. Through the window he witnesses Jerry bite the woman and have his live-in assistant take out the trash the next day. Being a paranormal enthusiast and avid watcher of the monster show, Fright Night, he is led to believe that Jerry is a vampire. He then enlists the help of the tv shows’ host, Peter Vincent, after Jerry sets his sights on his girlfriend, Amy.
There are 4 film installments in the franchise.
You may ask me, “Elf, why the fuck are you telling me this and why should I care? You labeled this a sunny day jack thing, you’re losing me.”
Well, maybe you should be patient and LISTEN because I’m going to rock your shit okay? First off, we’re following the 2009 installment because while the ‘85 one is great, I personally find the former more of an entertaining watch.
We already have Vampire Jack, right? Put him in the role of Jerry Dandridge, but as Joseph/Jacktor as his “human” form. He totally fits ‘09 Jerry imo.
One of my MCs, Cloudy, is the Brewster of this story. Cloudy doesn’t have all that much interest in the supernatural like the original lead, but she’s repressed and curious, with a drive for solving mysteries so I believe that she would spy on someone if she hyped herself up enough.
Oh, even better – because I’m a ShaunXCloudy shipper – Shaun is her boyfriend in this. He’s the one with the paranormal obsession, and is even a bit bummed to find out that Cloudy has an in-the-flesh vampire as her next door neighbor!
I think maybe Ian would be the “Evil” Ed of this universe? He is very shrimpy and paranoid like him, at least in the version of the 2009 installment. He’s also very vulnerable like him, so I think that Jo would use that to his advantage before turning him into a vampire lackey.

hey besties i have fanfic-themed but not directly plot-related questions! well, mostly
question 1) do yall have any favorite zombie media? was there anything in particular that yall are drawing on for your fic?
personally i've been scared of zombie movies all my life lol but because of tamn i've finally been trying to finish the world war z audiobook? (the last time i tried getting thru it was pre covid which has been. a weird experience) it's fully voice acted and i like it so far! super different from the 2013 movie with brad pitt
question 2) :3 do you guys think you'd be up to talk about the no-apocalypse au where scarian get to have a normal breakup someday? :3 it doesn't have to be now or anytime soon but i'd be into hearing about it!
anyways hope yall are having a good day lock and key ^_^
These are some really REALLY good questions!!!
for starters! for me (Lock) I actually didn't start watching zombie media until Key introduced me to it! We watched the Korean series All Of Us Are Dead together, and then followed it with Last Of Us (the tv adaptation) and the first seasons of The Walking Dead, so I've have a very curated window into zombie media (actually! We watched Walking Dead as research for TAMN, because Key wanted to make sure I understood what hordes of zombies in cities look like!)
As for Key's zombie exposure (lol): I (Key) WAS BIG INTO ZOMBIES GROWING UP!! Constant zombie media consumption--probably one of my earliest hyperfixations ngl I feel like what we're drawing on while we write TAMN is an amalgamation of all our favourite bits from the things we've seen together, as well as some of my favourite formative zombie medias while growing up.
The Walking Dead Season 1 remains like, one of my all-time favourite seasons of any television show ever, so that's definitely a big influence. (Some of the later seasons get a lot less of my love LOL) The Korean movie Train to Busan is also a popular one you may have heard of--I'd definitely recommend giving that a go if you're okay with zombie media that veer on the side of tragic. When The Last of Us (Part One) came out, it quickly became my favourite zombie-oriented video game, though a lot of its predecessors (Resident Evil series esp.) really gripped me (even though it took me ages to play-through cuz they would scare the shit out of me LMAO) Its TV show is also an excellent adaptation, so if you're not into playing it or watching a Let's Play, the show is a good bet! The UK series In the Flesh was also an interesting look into After™ the apocalypse, and though it was cancelled after it's second season, it's also worth a watch for a fresh perspective on zombie media. 28 Days Later was an excellent movie and ofc Dawn of the Dead is a classic. And then the usual comedies like Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland, etc.
I saw World War Z as a movie but never read the book! I should def give it a try--idk why I never did! God, honestly I could ramble about zombie media forever if given the chance 😂 None of this even begins to cover the sheer amount of zombie comics I read. I was very much a "webcomic" era kid, so a lot of my favourite old original zombie comics are either offline now or I simply don't remember what they were called anymore, so I have no way to track them down :( I did recently enjoy the webtoon Boyfriend of the Dead as a light-hearted, humourous read, but there were a lot of gripping, nuanced, plot-heavy original comics like a decade ago that I loved and I wish I could link. ANYWAYS. I'LL STOP MYSELF HERE AND LET LOCK ANSWER QUESTION NUMBER 2 LMAO
HI IT'S LOCK. I'M BACK. Now, as for a non-apocalypse Scarian scenario, we've actually thought about this a LOT! One of our favourite things to do is make an AU, and then multiple "what if one key things was different" spinoffs of the same AU.
We're gonna put this under a read-more, in case you'd like to keep the "what if" a mystery forever, but to sum up:
In an alternate reality where Scar and Grian break up and then the zombie apocalypse doesn't happen........ they stay broken up! Scar gets what he longs for in the fic: time away from Grian to hurt and grieve and heal with the support of his close friends who care about him.
It takes him a while until he feels ready to date again, but Scar does eventually start a new relationship with someone he knows really well, and has loved and trusted for a long time. They get engaged and start planning their wedding..............
............. and then Grian comes back and says he's sorry, that he misses Scar, that he was wrong, and that he doesn't want to be without him. And Scar................... takes him back.
It's-- listen, it's not the best possible outcome! But we're basing heavily on the Life Series Scarian dynamic, which is itself incredibly nuanced and complicated and tragic and a little bit "you're both bad for each other." It's part soulmates, and it's part codependence, and it's partly killing the person you love with your bare hands alone in the desert, and how that guilt ends up haunting you into every other subsequent timeline. Grian's not the best person for Scar as he is, and Scar's not the best person for Grian, but they want to be with each other, and unfortunately that desire often overrides common sense.
As for what happens after that.... we don't know yet! It was a thought experiment we worked through and ultimately realised "oh, it's WAY better for them that the zombies DID happen in the long run, 'cause without them this would be awful." (Not that the zombies are great, but woof......... Scarian, c'mon.) In this version of events, they lose a lot of friends when Scar takes Grian back, and the isolation suits Scar poorly. It takes them a much longer time to work through how to be good for one another. If the zombie apocalypse was good for anything, it was forcing a reckoning of what they wanted and how to get it--the only other option was death. Without that hanging over their heads, it takes Scarian years to reach any sort of resolution, which (no spoilers but) takes TAMN!Scarian a much shorter amount of time to get to.
Hope that answers your question! The 'what ifs' are our favourite, so we love to ramble about them hahaha <3

I still haven't 100% decided whether or not I wanna dedicate myself to writing a multi-chapter fic, but if I do, I want some input about which one people would most like to see. So I'm gonna post some descriptions and a poll~
These are not gonna be the actual names of any of them btw, they're just placeholder names for the poll lmao
And if I end up writing one and enjoying it, I might end up writing another when I finish the first. We'll see. I also might veto the poll result and write whatever I want. Idk. It's my blog I just love knowing y'alls thoughts on things <3
80s Lads
A little bit of heatstroke and a chance encounter leads to the crew's set medic becoming a full-fledged member of the Sunny Time Crew Show. Meet Birdsong Baby, the diversity hire! A bird-themed singer with a stuffie called Lil Peepo. And then there's her shifty actor, Nik Starling. A mystery that Joseph is desperate to unravel, and Jean is desperate to keep to himself. Almost as much of a mystery as the pretty dancer at the strip club across the studio's parking lot. Who is Kitty Cohen and why is her name whispered among the cast and crew so often?
This story would involve my partner and I's OCs, polyamoury, Jean being evil and sexy, Joseph being sad and sexy, smut, angst, mutual pining, and an unhappy ending. It's the direct prequel to the Pre-Story.
Pre-story
Nik and Zander don't know anything about reincarnation. They don't know anything about past lives or the Sunny Time Crew Show. They know nothing of Birdsong Baby and Kitty Cohen. But sometimes history repeats itself. Bad decisions, bad relationships, finding each other... What happened before Ian cheated? Before Jack came into their lives? How did they get to where they are today?
This story would also involve my partner and I's OCs, plus a bunch of other OCs, polyamoury, a lot of stuff that doesn't involve much of the sdj plot/characters other than Ian and Shaun, and some smut. It's the direct sequel to the 80s Lads.
Grumpy Director AU
Sometimes people make mistakes. Like stumbling half-cut into a meeting and pitching a stupid kids show about weather-themed clowns. And sometimes those mistakes lead to the show being commissioned and them put in charge of directing it. They hate the show, they hate their life, and most of all they hate the show's stars. And somehow, more than that, they hate how much they don't hate the show's stars nearly as much as they say.
The OC in this story would probably be voted on from a few possible OCs of mine, it would involve lots of unhealthy coping mechanisms, a deeply depressed OC, polyamoury with Jean and Joseph, and lots of dirty flirting and smut.
Ghost!Rory AU backstory
After shooting Joseph, Jean turned the gun on himself. He had nothing more to live for, and he couldn't stand the idea of spending the rest of his life in prison. What he didn't bank on was getting stuck in a different kind of prison. Stuck in the blank emptiness inside the tape, with only Joseph for company. How do you cope, spending eternity with the man who killed you? Spending eternity with the man you killed? Sometimes they both think it would be better to slip back into the roles of Jack and Rory...
There wouldn't be an OC in this story, it would focus on the Jean/Joseph and Rory/Jack relationships. Lots of angst, emotional vulnerability, trauma, and probably some smut too.
Sunny Time Crew Member
This one would be more of a collaborative work with y'all. The OC would be voted on, as would the relationships. Generally, it would be something that involves Jean and/or Joseph falling for an OC crew member on the Sunny Time Crew Show.
Something Royal
This one would also be more of a collaborative work with y'all. The OC would be voted on, as would the relationships. I'm thinking something either arranged marriage, royal/commoner relationship, or royal/servant?
Ian Comes Home
He fucked up. He knows he fucked up. But he still pays the rent, and his room is still there. So maybe if he moves in, he can win them back over? Maybe he can make up for what he did? Maybe... just maybe... he can have a second chance. But they're not going to make it easy for him.
This one might be done with Zander and Nik, or might be done with a different OC depending on what people wanna see. There's a few ways this could go, but it would definitely include angst and sad horniness/smut. Might end up straying into yandere/noncon stuff if that's the vibe, or might have a happy and sweet ending.

5, 8, and 13 for whoever you're Feeling? >:)
[ prompt ]
5: What is your OC's moral code?
In general, Reed has a very flexible moral code. He does prefer to avoid unnecessary fights & death outside of combat, but it doesn’t really take much for him to decide that’s the only way for him to get out of the situation. Lying’s fine, stealing’s fine, he’s cool with manipulation & gaslighting if it’ll work in his favor, & he’s pretty desensitized to violence and used to being used as a weapon so killing for other people isn’t a big deal.
8: Would your OC consider themself evil?
Reed sure as hell doesn't consider himself to be a good person, but- no, he doesn't think he's evil either.
13: Who does your OC hate the most?
Reed hates the BOS as a whole- kind of hates Maxson for the way he’s leading the faction as a whole & the way he throws Danse out post-Blind Betrayal, hates Quinlan, Kells, Teagan, & Rhys just because, & hates Elder Lyons for setting the east coast chapter up to become what it is now. He also hates the Institute as a whole, hates Shaun(kills him on sight when they meet on the MIT roof in his solo au, where he doesn’t have my other two OCs influencing how he handles the Institute), and he hates a handful of prewar groups/companies/etc including but not limited to the U.S. Army & Vault-Tec. Oh, and he hates his parents too- but that’s old news and he doesn’t really care about that at this point.
Mercy deeply hates the Enclave as a whole and in general hates pretty much every faction that tries to replicate the former U.S. government in some way or thinks they should have centralized control over a region- hates the NCR, Legion, Mr. House, literally every chapter of the BOS she’s interacted with(West coast, Mojave, Midwest, & East coast), etc etc.

Hello, Ms. Yuki Dragon.
I know this is a bit forward but I have a suggestion related to AphroDesia.
Remember when Jambeebot had that picture of Jambee as a priest and Tmon as a clergyman?
Maybe it was some kind of religion that practices beliefs in love and "other things"? *ahem* 🤭
How would you write an AU like that?
Sadly, I must have missed that picture myself. It sounds really interesting though.
I assume you’re asking how would I write a religious-themed AU involving SDJ? That would be an interesting idea.
Jack, being charismatic, would have to be a minister with a large following. He is well known, leading the main church for the religion, and most everyone respects him. He has such a sweet and wholesome, squeaky clean image.
Let’s not stick with any real world form of religion and stick with more fantasy-based ones, shall we? Let’s say this particular religion has a chosen one of sorts, a saint who is granted holy powers by the god they worship. They heal the devout worshippers, slay evil, and all that good stuff.
Now... such holy symbols are meant to be pure and untouched by the sinful world. Wouldn’t it be a shock if the congregation knew that the leader of the church was showing his love for the saint in far more carnal ways?
It would be such a scandal! But Jack insists that this is just another form of love. Still, they won’t make their relationship public since the followers need time to warm up to the idea of a saint who knows the pleasures of the flesh.
Also, it’s a perfect way for Jack to keep certain rivals away, such as demon hunter Shaun, priest-in-training Ian, and member of the church Nick. They can’t try to seduce the sunshine saint if that’s against their religion’s rules after all.
Oooh, I even have an idea of how to inject a little more SDJ flavor into this AU. Just as a heads up I’ll be switching from general MC to my personal version, Alice.
Jack, being head priest, faces off against demons and what not. His desire for love, real love and not just the shallow surface level of love, leaves him vulnerable. A demon attacks him and forces him to experience hell.
It was after hours at the church when it happened. A lone soul came to pray for guidance despite the late hour, feeling lost and hurt because her fiancé... ex-fiancé cheated on her.
It was absurd... Ian was training to be a priest, and because of that they had to be chaste... Alice was fine with that, relieved in fact that the pressure was taken off. It wasn’t that she didn’t have urges, but it was intimidating, and she felt more comfortable taking things slowly. Once his training was done, he would be allowed to get married, and only then they could consummate their relationship. It was a huge deal, especially to him, that they had to wait before doing anything more intimate than a kiss.
At the same time there were moments when their making out went a bit too far, when things got so steamy between them. Ian would panic after realizing, especially if Alice signaled it was too much, he was being too rough with her, and he would beg her for forgiveness before praying to their god to help him resist temptation.
That’s why Alice never thought in a million years that Ian would come to her door in the middle of the night, sobbing on his knees, covered in lipstick and bite marks. He confessed that he was weak; he gave in to the temptations of another woman. He will confess in the church and get guidance from the other priests and their god as well, but he had to confess to her first. He needed her to forgive him first.
Heartbroken, Alice asked for time to think and pray. It was the best she could do when she was in so much pain over his betrayal. Even still, it took a while to convince Ian to give her space to think, as he was so desperate to be forgiven and to not lose her.
Which leads Alice to the church at a late hour. It was a bigger church than the one near her home, but she couldn’t risk running into Ian while praying, not when he was so reluctant to let her go. She expected even the priests to be asleep and maybe she could pray and light a candle privately, maybe receive a sign from their god on what to do... when she came across thick miasma of cold darkness, and the head priest curled up in the middle of the floor, caught in a silent scream.
It had been a routine blessing, or at least it was supposed to be. Jack is popular and was given donations to him and the church. Among the coin tidings, there was a curious medallion adorned in jewels that looked like a smiling mouth surrounded by flourish gold trim to look like sunlight. It’s not too dissimilar from the smiling sun symbol their church uses to represent the sun god they worship.
Jack had felt something... compelling about the medallion beyond its obvious value. Only too late did he realize that a demon had cursed it, no doubt snuck it in to target him directly. It was tailor made to corrupt and seduce his worst nature, make him unleash all his most sinful desires.
Jack resisted, but in that resistance he was locked into hellish torment that turned minutes into years. Slowly, slowly the solitude and cold of the curse was breaking his resolve despite his divine power as head priest, making him so painfully aware that the love people felt for him was just as the face of their god and not for him as a man.
Then a miracle happened.
When Alice saw Jack caught in the throes of agony, she ran to him. Some power she never realized she possessed came to life, and she knew instinctively how to banish the demonic miasma from the church.
It was when Alice awakened as the holy saint, the being blessed by their god who would use their power to do good in the world. She didn’t realize this of course, but Jack did when he woke up and saw her leaning over him, glowing gently with divine power.
Jack instantly fell in love.
As the saint, Alice needed to move to the church to better use her powers for good. Jack was so grateful and gave her everything she could want. He guided her on what to do as the saint... and what to do about Ian.
Well, it was obvious wasn’t it? Ian betrayed her, he broke sacred pledges of love and the priesthood. Oh, their god is merciful and will forgive him if he repents properly and cleanses his soul, but Jack worries that if he could be tempted once, he might be tempted again.
It was the right thing to do to end the engagement and to have a fresh start at Jack’s church. Alice had a whole new life ahead of her, a greater destiny after all.
Alice wasn’t used to all the attention, being prayed to and having so many look to her for holy blessings and healing with her new divine power. Fortunately, Jack helped her, kept her company, and was a true friend.
Over time that friendship developed into something... more.
This time it was Alice who was caught with feelings of shame. The saint must be chaste, right? To remain pure in mind and body for the sake of gaining their divine powers. Once priests finish their training, they’ll have earned their divine powers and thus they can have relationships. A saint supposedly has the ability to keep gaining power from their god, thus needs to remain pure... or some such.
Jack, fortunately, brought up one day about how the practice is an antiquated throwback to older beliefs written in by more restrictive priests in the past. Now, he wouldn’t ever even consider saying anything bad about his predecessors, but sometimes even the most devout of them can be tempted by being given power over people. It’s why he prays to their god daily, and he knows she’s been feeling that burden since she became a saint.
Sadly, most people are comforted by the idea of a pure, chaste saint, so it will take time to help them come around. Still, Jack assures Alice that such feelings she’s having are normal.
Alice asks what feelings Jack is talking about, evasive and in denial.
“Why, love, of course,” Jack says with a knowing smile.
Alice sputters, face flushed, and at first vehemently denies it. Jack says gently he believes her, but insists that if she does feel that way, she can tell him. He just wants what’s best for her.
At one point a line is crossed. Alice panics at kissing Jack (even though he guided her in for the kiss), but he reassures her that it’s okay. More kisses follow and it feels so good, so inviting... then one of the priests knocked on the door because the saint was needed for something and the two of them hastily had to cover up to hide the signs that they made out.
Alice angsts a bit about how things have changed between her and Jack, but he makes sure to keep reassuring her that it’ll be fine. They can be together if she wants it. The world might not be ready to understand what they have, but that’s okay. What’s important is that they love each other and that it’s not a sin to love, no matter what older doctrine might say.
Interestingly, as their relationship deepens and gets physical, Alice’s divine power gets even stronger, and Jack’s as well. It seems as though some misinformation was recorded in the past at some point, as their love seems to get even more of their god’s blessing.
It’s more reason for Jack to use his sermons to change the misconceptions of the other members of their faith so that one day he and Alice can make their relationship public. Then, they’ll be able to get married and their love can shine brightly in the light for all to see.

sjdhajdsh sorry bursting in your ask like this but i just need to discuss this ep with someone who also ships tenfourdonna!!! now that its been some hours after wby i gotta wonder when ficwriters will get to work lmao, that donnatoo (the fake!donna) begs for an au where she turns good and finishes copying donna - maybe they could pull what they did with tentoo and 🥀 , dropping her off with shaun and sylvia while donna and 14 travel with rosie or smth lmao
i would love to see fake!doctor and fake!donna try to take over the universe. the scary part about the no-things copying them specifically is that they love each other fiercely and they are deeply bonded, and know each other on a level most two people don't. therefore they're as much of a team and more than the actual doctor and donna.
i have to restrain myself from wailing that donna should really just be with fourteen forever. she really should be-- i think she's lying about not being able to remember the last 15 years for him. i worry that's what's going to kill her, though. she'll admit to the doctor at the last moment that of course she remembers it all, of course she knows everything, and of course she loves him and she knows that he loves her, and that will be it.
but WHAT fun an evil!doctor and evil!donna series would be LOL imagine they discover that clothes are removable and shapes fit together?

✨Fanfic Masterpost✨
Links and summaries to my current finished and WIP fanfics. All of the below are for Critical Role! Five Points Make a Difference Pairing: Essek Thelyss/Caleb Widogast Chapters: 4/? (WIP) Word Count: 12,238 Characters: Beauregard Lionett, Caleb Widogast, Essek Thelyss, Jester Lavorre, Fjord (Critical Role), Yasha (Critical Role), Astrid Beck, Eadwulf Grieve, Yussa Errenis, Mollymauk Tealeaf, Caduceus Clay Tags: University Rivals AU, Alternative Universe - Non-magical Summary:  Caleb has the second-highest exam score in his physics class. It’s the worst thing that’s ever happened to him. Excerpt:
“My life is over.” Caleb’s head slammed against the library desk repeatedly. Beau rolled her eyes as she adjusted her phone, tilting it to the perfect angle so that his forlorn pose was visible in the frame behind her. “God, you’re so dramatic. Smile for the camera, nerd.” “How? I can never smile again.” Caleb’s voice was muffled against the wood, which only made the situation more comical in Beau’s mind. She grinned with satisfaction as she added a caption and sent the image through Snapchat. Hopefully the rest of the gang enjoyed Caleb's pain as much as she did.
Wizard Brunch
Pairing: Essek Thelyss/Caleb Widogast Chapters: 7/8 (Planned Ending WIP) Word Count: 25,485 Characters: Caleb Widogast, Jester Lavorre, Shaun Gilmore, Allura Vysoren, Essek Thelyss, Yussa Errenis, Marion Lavorre | Ruby of the Sea, Reanminere "Reani", Caduceus Clay Tags: Developing Relationship, Fluff, Essek's Big Vacation Summary:  Essek gets a mysterious message from a stranger asking if he wants to join him for brunch. Excerpt:
It was insane. A waste of a spell that could lead to getting killed by a stranger, although he had no idea why someone from Tal’Dorei would have it out for him. On the other hand, wasn’t this why he began traveling to begin with? To be far away from all the forces trying to kill him or draw him back into politics, to gain some perspective by looking outside himself and his narrow-minded goals? Essek pressed a thumb against his mouth as he contemplated this, scanning the paper to a scrap of fabric pinned to the bottom of the map. It was striped purple and gold, a colorful addition to the parchment, and it took Essek a moment to understand why it was there. He could use it to teleport.
Our Little Dark Age
Pairing: Essek Thelyss/Caleb Widogast Chapters: 1/1 (Complete) Word Count: 1,291 Characters: Caleb Widogast, Essek Thelyss Tags: Neutral Evil Essek, Alternate Universe, Toxic Relationship Summary:  Caleb and Essek bask in the afterglow of an assassination. Excerpt:
Essek sat on Caleb’s lap and curled around him like a cat in a sunbeam. One arm looped around his back while the other ended in long fingers that gently, with praise and encouragement, stroked the maze of tattoos adorning his skin. You would never think from their relaxed embrace that a body lay three feet away, reaching for the golden throne that the couple sat on. The fine cushions were stained with blood.  “You did so good, Caleb. You’re so good.” Essek murmured into his ear, sweet as bird song. Caleb nuzzled his cheek in reply, looking just as pleased.

I was bored and having some thoughts of “what would Evil Gale be like?” and landed on an AU where something happens to Preston and co. before Gale arrives so she just kind of… wanders the Commonwealth, lost, looking for Shaun, and the Institute (X6-86) finds her before Deacon intervenes
…and then diving into it more she’s just a different flavor of Nuetral Good, just more scared of the people topside because literally almost everyone and everything was trying to kill her lol
Still a super cool concept though, definitely will be playing with it more
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
also, obligatory X6-88 and Sole romance, bc when in Rome,

Hey this is @strange-slenderverse-aus , I just can't ask from that blog for some reason, I am here to ask for splendorverse! Patrick and splendorverse! Collective headcanons
ok in all honestly the plot of mla0 is still kind of lost on me, I think Patrick would mainly be trying to mend Shaun and Michaels relationship though, he'd probably still be a little bit of a cryptic dick about it though lol
as for the collective? no clue honestly! the one idea I do have is sort of a roleswap between the observer and firebrand. like the observer is a good guy actually helping Noah and firebrand is fucked up and evil. but because of the way they both act Noah ends up trusting firebrand over the observer
also smth smth Mr scars/Milo trying to help people cope with his death
also also if that's a sideblog you can't ask from it, asks can only be sent from the mainblog

okay i just rewatched Pacific Rim for the millionth time and, hear me out, a Modern Pacific Rim AU?
Like, the Masyaf Eagle having been originally piloted by the Al Sayf brothers but a nasty battle kills Kadar and takes Malik's arm so now Malik serves as an engineer/command center for the Eagle's new pilot Altair who is in search of a co-pilot. And the only one who can successfully drift (synchronize) with him is Desmond. (Altdes)
Ezio Auditore who inherited the Eden Assassin after his father and brother were killed in battle. Ezio who lost his co-pilot and dear friend Yusuf in a battle. Ezio who is trying to stop his sister from becoming his new co-pilot because he's so scared of losing her like he's lost everyone else.
Edward Kenway and Adewale being totally awesome troublemakers and pilots of the Jackdaw
Haytham and Shay being co-pilots of the Morrigan Revenge and having a ridiculous rivalry with Connor and Arno, pilots of the Phantom Aquila
Jacob and Evie co-piloting the Victorian Conqueror and setting records for fastest kaiju kills.
Bayek and Aya becoming pilots after losing Khemu during an attack and piloting the Hidden One.
Kassandra and Alexios being terrifying co-pilots of the Spartan Misthios
Totally out of left field co-pilots Eivor and Basim who seem so unlikely because they spend most of their free time arguing, but being badass pilots of the Raven Destroyer.
idk i just got really excited
Nooonnnnnyyyy!
You got me excited as well because I love mechas and kaijus! Pacific Rim is one of my most favorite movies ever! (Although, as a huge Del Toro fan, that’s not really surprising XD)
Making it AltDes makes me go jshdafjkhjbhsdasadg
Okay, okay.
I think Shaun and Rebecca could be K-Science Officers focused on why these Kaijus are attacking humans in particular. Now, I was thinking we can make Al Mualim the Marshal in charge of Altaïr and Desmond’s Division and we can keep him as a ‘good guy’ in this setup but, if you still want him to be ‘evil’, perhaps he’s secretly in charge of some kind of illegal project that uses Kaiju parts to create a new type of Jaeger.
Why are we making Al Mualim the Marshal?
Because we’ll make Desmond a second generation of Jaeger Pilots. His father, William Miles, was known as the hero who saved South Dakota from total annihilation so there was a lot of pressure for him to do well.
Hell, he didn’t even want to become a Jaeger Pilot and he had actually run away but he was called back after he got ‘visitors’ who insisted he needed to be escorted to a PPDC base where Altaïr is trying to find a co-pilot. They spar and found out they were compatible but their first few Drifts were so bad everyone starts to doubt that they were actually compatible and, honestly, Desmond and Altaïr didn’t understand why they’re being paired together.
They had nothing in common.
That’s when Al Mualim tells them that they have one thing in common that was clear to everyone during their Drift sessions.
They both had walls around themselves, keeping them from fully synchronizing.
And, surprisingly, it was Altaïr who pushes Desmond to talk to him, to try and understand one another.
Only to be surprised when Desmond asks him, “You’re doing this because Al Mualim told you, aren’t you?”
Later on, Altaïr corners him once more and asks back, “How’d you know?”
And that’s how Desmond realizes that their compatibility might stem from their similar upbringing because Al Mualim was Altaïr’s own William Miles.
Other Unorganized Notes:
The AltDes in this one would be more in line of ‘reluctant allies’ to friends to lovers… probably.
When they become lovers, everyone suffers because they're that kind of couple.
Masyaf Eagle mainly uses a one-hand sword but has a secret short blade on its left arm. It’s projectile weaponry is primarily throwing knives but it will get a gun upgrade on its right arm later on.
Ezio befriends Desmond easily and has a friendly rivalry with Altaïr. He also likes to joke about asking Desmond if he’d like to be his co-pilot instead which just makes Yusuf laugh. After Altaïr and Desmond get together, he makes the same jokes just to get a rise out of Altaïr. (Claudia is in a separate base for training and Ezio always finds the time to visit her or send her messages)
Eden Assassin is mostly known for being versatile, having both short and long-range capabilities. It’s also known for its left hand having a hook blade attachment.
Edward and Adéwalé are one of the oldest Jaeger pilots still on the field. Edward is also Haytham’s older brother and he worries about him a lot. Edward also likes to spoil his young nephew. A lot of people are actually curious how the two of them could be co-pilots considering their personalities but Adéwalé and Edward never answer any of their questions. It is clear that they are loyal to one another.
The Jackdaw has a chest blaster which blasts out four shots (as a reference to how Edward usually has four flintlock pistols on his chest harness). Jackdaw is primarily a ranged Jaeger and its main weapon is a twin pair of gunblades.
Haytham transferred to be Shay’s co-pilot after a huge disagreement between Shay’s old co-pilot erupted and ‘corrupted’ their Drifts too much that they could no longer operate Morrigan Revenge. Haytham usually just lets Shay lead but any time Haytham wants to take the lead, Shay backs down immediately and follows him. Haytham does not approve of Ratonhnhaké:ton being a Jaeger pilot.
Morrigan Revenge primarily uses a long one-handed sword and a short dagger. It also has a grenade launcher on its right shoulder. It’s mostly known for having a head that looks like a taco. (no, I’m not sorry, I will forever talk about Haytham’s taco hat)
Ratonhnhaké:ton and Arno are the youngest Jaeger pilots currently in the field. Ratonhnhaké:ton doesn’t have a good relationship with his father but he’s cordial to his uncle. Arno is the son of Charles Dorian who died in a Kaiju Battle piloting a Jaeger. He actually became a Jaeger pilot to follow his step-sister who pilots a different Jaeger.
Phantom Aquila is an experimental Jaeger and its main experiment is if it’s possible for a Jaeger to have two forms. A humanoid form and a quadrupedal form. It’s faster on its quadrupedal form and it usually takes that form when it’s providing support or distractions. Its humanoid form uses primarily a tomahawk-like weapon and has a crossbow on its left arm.
Victorian Conqueror has the highest record for the fastest Kaiju kills because Evie and Jacob actually cannot handle being drifted to one another for too long. Everyone is keeping it a secret and only their main engineers and support team (led by Jayadeep Mir) know about it. They believe the main reason for their low drift timeframe stems from Ethan Frye’s death… not that Evie and Jacob believe them.
Victorian Conqueror has a cane sword and a kukri-like blade. It also has invincibility capabilities but they’re still working out how to make it useable as it can only be activated if Victorian Conqueror does not move.
Aya and Bayek were actually retired Jaeger pilots. They returned to the field after their son’s death and still uses Hidden One which is one of the oldest Jaeger still on the field.
Hidden One has a lot of possible weaponry at its disposal but they primarily use either a shield and a one hand sword or twin short blades. Supposedly, Aya prefers the short blades while Bayek prefers the sword-and-shield combo.
Alexios and Kassandra are known for having lots of friends… with benefits… Sometimes the same friends even. They also came from a family of Jaeger pilots and are very close. On their time off, they usually go off base to visit their mother. Their step brother is also a Jaeger pilot while their step father is a Marshal for another base.
Spartan Misthios uses a sword and a short blade. The short blade is special as it actually came from an older Jaeger model named the “Spartan King”. Spartan King is legendary for protecting thousands of civilians against a horde of smaller but faster Kaijus, holding down the line as everyone escaped. By the time the Spartan King had been overwhelmed and both of its pilot died, everyone had managed to escape. One of the pilots was Kassandra and Alexios’ grandfather and Spartan Misthios is considered to be the Spartan King's successor.
Eivor and Basim have… very soap-opera level of drama. Raven Destroyer's original pilots were meant to be Eivor and Sigurd but Sigurd was discharged after just two Kaiju battles. Rumors say that he had been dishonorably discharged due to how he acts. Basim was transferred as one of the candidates for Eivor’s co-pilot and they didn’t exactly start well (Eivor punching Basim hard enough that he actually flew across the room may or may not be exaggerated). Still, they do work together whenever they’re in their Jaeger… only to go back to bickering afterward.
Raven Destroyer has a shield on its left arm. It switches from a hand axe or a pair of daggers at any given time and even its fighting style changes from pure brute force to hit-and-run tactics in a blink of an eye, making it a hard opponent to fight.
All Kaijus have codenames based on gods and goddesses.

Father's wing color changing to white at the end of his life's gotta mean something, eh?
*diagnoses father with old*
i think fathers wings turned white around his 30s but thats bc shaun is my special evil little boy and swans change colors during their life cycle. something something, ugly duckling representing shaun's awkward adoption and indoctrination into the institute, then heralded as the father of all synths with bright white wings to boot that match the stark whiteness of the institute. *smacks the root of father wing au* i can fit so much metaphor into this bad boy.
