Yk something that lowkey really bugs me? I hate how often when people talk about Steven Universe in terms of LGBTQ rep, there’s always this stupid 'I know, but’ angle to it. Quite frankly, I don’t give a shit about the stuff other people don’t like about its writing (hell, quite frankly there are plenty of things that are arguably better regarded which I find less compelling or worse written). It was a series with not just one or two but literally dozens of queer characters, and told a story about self-acceptance and fighting against bigoted systems of power that spoke to me and a lot of people, one which didn’t pretend prejudice and abuse don’t exist like some shows with LGBTQ rep like to. And it did it before almost any other kid’s shows even touched the subject- you wouldn’t have stuff like She-Ra or TOH without it and their showrunners have basically said as much. It deserves to be treated as the jewel in the crown of Gay Cartoons and not just some also-ran.

I know I write about how wild Penelope is (she is) but OdyPen is very likeminded. Odysseus is just as wild and out of pocket. It's just that we already KNOW that from the epics. word of advice if you see a sonic game being widely labelled as bad you should give it a chance yourself before taking those opinions as an accurate representation of what the game is like. because the internet is just like weirdly biased towards sonic and says almost anything sonic related is bad and cringe and half the games that get put in the "bad sonic games" category arent even bad or at least have some redeeming qualities. people literally just hate fun

It's past 11 on a school night and I'm fucking crying over robot sentience.

I could never understand what it would feel like to be created with the intent to kill and maim. Maybe, the intent to work and be worked, but not kill and maim.

I will never understand what it's like to be created with the intention of being a product for the masses, either. I think, I hope, I beg, no one does.

I will never ever be able to fully comprehend why hours of people's work, time, and money would be put into formulating my sentience only for me to be seen as disposable. Even if I could be improved, even if I were "defective", there is no reasonable justification for giving me emotions only to dismiss them by pushing me as a product for a year before starting anew.

It's... It's cruel, to the machines. Sentient or not, it's cruel. Though, I guess we are cruel.

I’d like to share a personal story that I just remembered.

Ever since fifth grade, I’ve been hoarding pencils. Now that’s a less interesting story for another day, but just know that I collect a ton off of floors.

Now, In sixth grade, I had this lunchbox that had a mesh compartment on the inside for storing a water bottle. I used it to store all my pencils instead. I carried it with me to every class.

I also was always “the art kid” ever since first grade at the latest. I was always drawing.

So, in chorus, we had these folders where we kept sheet music. I kept getting in trouble for drawing on mine. One day, the chorus teacher got tired of telling me to stop, and took away my pencil.

I quietly pulled out another pencil and got back to business.

A few minutes later, my teacher noticed I was still drawing. She took away that pencil too.

I pulled out another pencil.

Now, by the time the teacher noticed that one, my classmates were all going:

“How many pencils do you have?”

To which I responded by unzipping my lunchbox to reveal hundreds of pencils.
