Breaking News! Mani Royal Visit to Iphigenia?

In a stunning turn of events, the Royal Prince of Máni has announced a royal visit between a member of the Royal Family of Máni and the Royal Family of Iphigenia.

The Royal Prince’s youngest son, the Prince Sigmar, will travel to Iphigenia to meet with Queen Constanze. This will mark the first royal visit between the two countries since the disasterous attempted reunion of then-Crown Prince Wilhelm and Princess Freya in 1914.

Ahhhh I really want a Dabi redemption, with the whole todo family theme seeming to be changing and bettering yourself, Dabi please. Though it would also fit if he didn’t, being the “outcast” or the odd one out in the family, and being one of the ones that needed the change the most and not getting it would work. but like, horikoshi my man, please? Either way, him being touya isn’t going to be as tearful and wholesome as people want.

I’d honestly be a little disappointed if we didn’t get to see a major villain redeem themselves or have a change of heart and Dabi’s the perfect choice in my opinion considering his connection falls more on the hero side (his family and Hawks) then with the villains. But he’s also a man that seems to not care about anyone but himself so I could also see him continuing on the route of being a black sheep either way (he’s a black sheep in the league as he doesn’t share the same bonds as they do and he could potentially be a black sheep in his family for the same reason).

Dabi revealing he’s Touya is going to have disasterous consequences on everyone (the heroes, civilians, his family) so it’s totally not going to be the tearful family reunion everyone seems to want. Dabi has actively tried to hurt Shouto after all, his baby brother, and has hurt many of his friends so I don’t Shouto is going to be too happy with him (he’s probably going to be devestated, lets be real).

I can’t wait to see what happens with Dabi in the future (I’m not lying when I say he’s my favourite villain and the mystery and his stand-offish nature compared to the rest of the League is a major reason why. You could just explore so much with him T-T).

What’s Next for the SURvers?

As was briefly talked about during the reunion, a lot of the castmembers has been buying houses. And I hope we will see more of this in the next season, like with Chelsea Meissner and her awesome renovation and OCD on Southern Charm.

Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix, Katie Maloney-Schwartz and Tom Schwartz, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, Scheana Marie and Kristen Doute has all bought themselves their first house. It will be nice to see them become adults with real homes now and not their tiny studio apartments with shitty electrical error etc.

There will also be weddings next season. We all know that Brittany and Jax will get their wedding special on the show, but what about Lala Kent and Randall Emmett? They will get married in April 2020, so there may be possible to have them on the season, right? I pray and hope that their wedding will also be a part of the show. Make it happen, Bravo Gods!

There may also be engagements next season. On the season final Beau Clark admitted to Lisa Vanderpump that he was going to propose to Stassi Schroeder. Will he do just that next season? Will it be a part of the show? They are my OTP in the reality world and I need to see this.

Will there be babies though? Schwartz has been the one to bring up babies this season, which makes me think that he and Katie are trying to get pregnant now. And now they have gotten themselves a nice new home, perfect for raising a little family. I can see that happening the next season.

As for the drama, we all know that the group was divided after the disasterous reunion. But we know very little about who will return next season, like on the Real Housewives series. I can’t see it possible for James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss to return next season, after James got into a fight with everybody except from Sandoval, Ariana and Scheana. Will even Vanderpump return as the Queen and boss next season after she quit RHOBH?

I saw:

One-Eyed Jacks- Two bank robbers get cornered and “the kid” sends “dad” to go get fresh horses. Instead a bit of parental abandonment occurs. After five years hard labor the “kid” escapes and sets out to get his revenge. When some other outlaws suggest he join their robbery plan he discovers that “dad” is now the sheriff of the target town. And so we get a sort of tense family reunion. “Dad” lies outright about what happened, and when “the Kid” meets the family he picks out a little side target. He seduces “Dad’s” innocent young step daughter with a reflexive lying. “Dad” reacts badly, and when the “Kid” kills someone in self defense he has and excuse to have him publicly whipped and and his gun hand crushed. During his recuperation he considers possibly chosing love of his romantic victim over vengance, but when his cohorts go off and disasterously rob the bank without him it looks like he will fatally take the blame.

This isn’t really a redemption story. Not quite. It’s a story liars, and that applies to everyone. Even the innocent young thing and her loving mom lie. In their case it has to so with fear, the uncertainty of a truth faced and the comsequences, but that’s why “Dad” lies too. He ran out on his friend and he knows that could get him killed. The other chief cause of lies are to get what you want, and if the “Kid” smiles when talking to you you better watch out. Everyone shows different faces to different people, presenting what is best for them at that moment. In the end there is no reason to believe the final words from the “Kid” are anything but lies either.

It’s an interesting movie, but I will be honest, I was only watching it to satisfy a lot of years of curiosity. Way back when Twin Peaks first aired, the original not this continuation I haven’t seen yet, I adored the show. (yes, I own the trading cards, the secret diary, soundtrack, the Cooper tapes, the issues of the fan mag “Wrapped in Plastic”, and other junk) In the show the local brothel not only shared a name with this movie, but a line of dialog pointed at it...something like “Isn’t that a Marlon Brando western?” Around the same time I was trying to hunt down these books on cult films by Danny Peary, not easy to manage in those pre-internet shopping days when you live in the middle of nowhere. I treated this books almost as a wish list, and this movie was one of the ones covered. After more than 20 years I still hadn’t seen the movie and have long forgotten the discription in the book. So now I finally have!

It’s an interesting film, sort of classic style with a twist. Visually it does the stunning scenery and artfully framing of the old era, but internally it’s all about a muddy moral reality without mythic heroes and symbolic family rifts of the next era of films.

So what do you know, Marlon Brando wasn’t a bad director. Pity he didn’t stay behind the camera because (horrible confession) I find him distracting as an actor. I always get staring at his odd nose, straining when he mumbles, and there is just something about his performances that make my brain go “fake”. I’m not saying he was a bad actor, or even that I haven’t liked him in some roles. He could be great in moments, just....yeah, distracted sums it up.

You think that’s bad, you should here me rant about how (with a couple exceptions) annoying I find Laurence Olivier! LOL
