Day 1571: Batiri

Amazon of Bana-Mighdall. Batiri was one of the many Amazons still mourning Queen Anahid when their new Queen Nehebka was declared to be dead. With Wonder Woman and Shim'Tar battling it out, the Bana Amazons were at a loss as to what was going on.

The two of them duking it out, buildings were being destroyed in their struggle, with Faruka and those allied with her attempting to gun Wonder Woman down during their battle. During all of this chaos, Hermes having been alerted to Diana being in danger had canvassed Egypt in search of her, only for powerful forces to stymie his efforts until he began to sense two great powers of Olympian origin.

Flying towards the source, a massive sandstorm sprung up to stop him. But Hermes powered being geared towards travel, he was specially capable of bypassing any barriers to reach his destination. However the Egyptian military having been searching for Bana-Mighdall for years, finally had a location and began carpet bombing the sandstorm. Unable to enter and reach the city, unlike their artillery which was causing even more devastation.

During her battle with Wonder Woman, Shim'Tar had wound up getting lasso'd and during this Diana demanded to know why she accused her of killing Nehebka. Under the power of the magic lasso, Shim'Tar loudly boasted that she murdered Nehebka so she could take over the Amazons as directed by Faruka. Her confession heard amongst the Bana Amazons.

With the city being bombarded, this massive battle between champions raging, and chaos rampant, Batiri prayed to any gods who might be available to lend their aid. Hermes being close by made a bee-line for Batiri and asked how he could help, working to block a mortar shell from crushing her in the process.

Batiri explained the situation and Hermes declared that he needed the Gaea girdle to stop this so Batiri led them to the temple which it had been kept, only to find it was gone. Being used to empower the Shim'Tar!

Faruka having no sense of timing stood atop a dias and declared that this was all a sign that the Bana must leave their city and venture out into the world to make the world burn and have revenge for what has happened to them!

However many of the Bana Amazons seeing the devestation affecting them did not connect with Wonder Woman or with outsiders. In their mines this was entirely the fault of Shim'Tar and Faruka who started this whole mess.

Thus one of them turning a machine gun upon Faruka, gunned her down, her corps falling from the dias and falling in a mess on the ground below. Seeing this, Shim'Tar was enraged and striking Wonder Woman hard enough to send her flying into a building, Shim'Tar declared that she would murder all of the Bana for the death of Faruka, launching herself forward and laying low not just the one who gunned down Faruka, but those surrounding her.

Before Shim'Tar could continue her rampage however, Diana had lasso'd Shim'Tar and restrained her, holding the Bana Amazon tight in an effort to subdue her. Just when it seemed like this battle had ended, the sandstorm that surrounded Bana-Mighdall turned inward and swallowed everyone up. Everyone and thing disappearing, leaving only Hermes, and Wonder Woman who held her magic lasso which now was bound around the Gaea Girdle instead of Shim'Tar.
