Why were we not given Nica sassing Father Bryce in 2x07?

I just remembered in Curse of Chucky when Barb bought father Frank with her when they first came to the house and Nica was uncomfortable because, as she said, her and her mother left the church a long time ago. She obviously still acts civil towards him, but there were still instances where the sass creeps out.

Like saying, "My mother and I have had quite enough pity, thank you." Or her tone when he and Barb are trying to get her to move into a care home so Barb could sell the house.
