📌 - how did you find your hyperfixation?

i basically went down a rabbit hole and eventually ended up here lol. back in mid september, i was feeling nostalgic at like 2am and decided to look up some tmnt stuff because i used to be SUPER into the 2012 series when i was in elementary school, and i saw some folks talking about rottmnt. some of it was about the great animation, and others were 30+ year olds whining about how different it was, and that was enough to hook me in lol. i found the premiere/pilot episode that nickelodeon uploaded to their facebook page, then i saw the trailer for the rottmnt movie, and i watched both seasons over the course of the following week.

💔 - tell us about one of your LEAST favorite characters and why you dislike them.

i don't like either of the sando brothers, unfortunately </3 i just think they're both kind of annoying, and not in an enjoyable way. i know they're more or less just one-off characters used to add more villains and such, so they're obviously not gonna be as well developed as the rest of the villains, but i just. don't like them very much :')

🏳️‍🌈 - do you have any headcanons that are important to you?

YES YES YES. okay so, like,,, im usually not super concrete about my headcanons and such bc i like playing around with this stuff, but i DO have some that stay pretty consistent:

leo - gay trans man w/ adhd <3 he/they, bc why not. plays guitar but sucks at it bc he barely practices (projecting onto him lmaoo). sneaks out of the lair to go to shitty concerts sometimes, both in the hidden city and on the surface. medic of the team, but tends to pass off the more severe stuff to donnie.

donnie - bi, queer, and masc aligned nonbinary (or agender maybe. kinda like both headcanons so i can't pick between them). they/he, but he doesn't really care about terms (masc/neutral are usually used by others, but they don't mind fem ones either). autistic, but idk if that counts as a headcanon since it was confirmed as canon recently? but yeah. loves plants and botany in general, even though tech is still his wheelhouse. second most capable when it comes to cooking (behind mikey, of course), he just doesn't do it very often. also sneaks out like leo does, but he usually just does stupid and/or mildly to moderately unsafe shit bc dude likes the adrenaline.

raph - unlabeled queer. he just doesn't feel the need to pick a label, y'know? he's just raph, and that works for him. folks usually use he/him bc it's familar, but he has no real preference most of the time, so any work. autistic + possibly some other flavor of neurodivergent. picked up knitting at some point and he sometimes makes gifts for his family. the only brother with a decently strict sleep schedule.

mikey - pan + either genderflux or demiboy. any pronouns, but his preference changes pretty often. adhd, dyslexic, and probably autistic. lots of vocal stims bc i like projecting <3 him + raph used to be closer, but they drifted apart a bit as they got older (they're still close, of course, but it's different compared to when they were kids). his favorite season is either spring or fall. despite how seemingly adept he is at handling other people's negative emotions, he SUCKS at handling his own. buddy tries to bottle that shit up and it does Not work out.

aaand those are my current favorite ones i think. ive got some, uh,,, slightly more embarrassing ones ig? nothing objectively bad obviously but. just might talk abt them in the tags bc i can <3

#asks #this turned out a LOT longer than expected but it was really fun to ramble about it for so long :'D #anyways. onto the Secret Extra Headcanons because im easily embarrassed and im too chicken to say them in the actual post lmao #so. i project onto these guys a fair bit. not to the point where they're unrecognizable but still quite a bit.#aaand i. umm. think it would be kind of funny if leo and/or donnie enjoyed the Devil's Lettuce. because yeah.#they're TEENAGERS in NEW YORK. come on. it's not uncommon.#im definitely projecting onto them bc i am also a teenage enjoyer of that shit but. i just think its fun to imagine. it ain't hurting -#- anyone. y'know? im just some teenager having fun projecting onto teenage characters.#ive got lots of more personal headcanons but they'll never see the light of day. those are between me and my notes app <3

Favorite character: My favorite from the main cast is Wembley, of course, and my favorites outside the main cast are Cantus and Jamdolin. Cantus especially is very important to me.

Funniest character: I'll admit that the original version of Gobo has made me laugh more often than any other fraggle, including any in the reboot. He's so snarky and kind of a jerk, it's really funny. They made him a lot nicer in the reboot, which is fine ig, but I'll always miss mean Gobo.

Best-looking character: I gotta hand this to Cantus and Jamdolin. They both have awesome colors and unique textures that make them look super awesome. Also special shout to Jack Hammer bc he has so much swag. Ik he's not a popular character but I like him, ok?

3 favorite ships: Wembley and Boober, Red and Mokey, and idk. Matt and the Storyteller? Tosh and Lou is also a super cute rarepair

Least favorite character: fucking MARLON and the other creepy one. I forgot his name.

Least favorite ship: Ugh I have a few actually. First of all, I don't like Wembley paired with Gobo or Boober paired with Mokey bc they just give off very strong sibling vibes. Also something icks me about Wembley and Mokey. I also really don't like all five of them shipped in a polycule for those reasons.

Reason why I watch it: surprisingly, despite it being my favorite show ever, I don't watch it very often because I have this weird urge to keep my favorite things sacred. Like if I really like a certain song, I'll keep myself from listening to it for long periods of time to preserve the "magic." Maybe it's wrong of me to do that, because the show just makes me soooo darn happy. I didn't grow up with it, so it doesn't give me a nostalgic feeling, it just seriously is a well written show with characters I care about and lessons about friendship worth learning (even if I already know them by heart). Also I squeal and cheer whenever I see Wembley he's so precious to me

Why I started watching it: I had gotten into the muppets one day by just finding it on Disney plus and I quickly began to hyperfixate. The reason why I branched out to fraggle rock is because my friend's mom recommended it to me.

sorry im just feeling nostalgic but for the longest time guess we really are brothers was a fic of mine which had the most subscriptions and hits (still has the nearly the most kudos ig sdlkfjdsl) from march 2021. and now my longest fic just beat those two numbers which will be done in two chapters. idk its just really interesting to see my writing change over time and stuff and get better and then that fic surpasses one of my oldest fics kinda ig. so thanks for all the support on my writing yall it means a lot :) i hope it continue writing more for this fandom even if the dsmp ended tomorrow

✨ WHERE TF DID HE GET THAT RAGE?

✨ Everyday he wakes up looking like an angry gremlin and he growls at people saying hi to him in the hallways

✨ The elementary school teachers genuinely like him and they know deep down he's a very sweet boy but KIDDO PLS GET YOUR HANDS OFF LIL TIMMY'S NECK AND DO YOUR MATHS MANIA MULTIPLICATION WORKSHEET HE DIDN'T MEAN TO DROP YOUR FAVORITE ERASER

✨ Mikasa and Armin were the only people who could calm him down

✨ You know that one kid who gets sent outta the classroom every week? And like teachers always call said kid's parents for a meeting? Eren is that kid

✨ At first, a very disappointed Grisha went to the meetings, and then neither parent went cuz they were too busy, and then Carla always went. By "too busy" I mean having yelling matches and digging up old bones and then storming off like toddlers. That was the hardest part of Eren's life

✨ A lot of Eren's rage came from his parent's crumbling marriage and he missed his dad but MY GOD he was relieved when Grisha left them. Eren has a soft spot deep down for him, but he's gonna break a damn wall if he sees Grisha again, and near his mom

✨ Eren's behavior improves at the start of middle school though. He's still not to be fucked with and lowkey terrifies the teachers, but he's much more amiable

✨ Eren's grades also improve in middle school. He finds more motivation and his study routine is shite but atleast he's putting more effort. Speaking of grades, he always scores 100% in PE

✨ Eren was always the fastest runner and even though he isn't super passionate about sports, he's competitive

✨ I feel like Eren would sometimes do sports for fun, but his main interests lie in martial arts. I hc he learns karate or judo or smth and get numerous degrees in it throughout the years

✨ Eren is popular despite being a hardass. He still gets clowned doe

✨ PLENTY OF FUCKING INJURIES AND BRUISES

✨ Now onto college Eren with the long hair and dem abs

✨ He's chill for the most part ig, still scary doe

✨ He gets daily reminders from Mikasa and Armin to study and that's the only reason he passes

✨ I feel like he'd take the same classes as his friends and be nonchalant about college but then get interest in his subject and find it's his passion

✨ "Woah", Eren doing a perfect Gabbie Hannah impression at 3 AM after realizing how much his major means to him

✨ Eren's handwriting is messy but readable. Hw takes notes on random pieces of paper and random notebooks so the night before the exams he's turning the house down looking for that half ripped sticky note

✨ But I mean the grade is good so he won't stop the bad practice

✨ 9/10 times Eren is the veteran face showing new college students around the campus. Him and Jean actually

✨ In a modern world, Eren and Jean are frenemies becuz Eren finds him annoying. They have roast battles and even rap battles. Eren tells Jean to stfu if he even breathes

✨ Eren goes to bed at 2 and he actually tries to fix his sleeping schedule but then Jean sends him game invites and he's just MAD

✨ Sasha and Connie throw parties every weekend and you best believe Jean and Eren are in the convenience stores getting snacks and then tampons to make a tampon princess castle tgt later on

✨ Eren is the friend who has a nice ass car. He picks ppl up and drops them off everyday

✨ He LOVES going on late night rides with his peeps

✨ ESPECIALLY Mikasa 😳

✨ Eren is head over heels for Mikasa and Mikasa is the same and their mutual pining is so fucking embarrassing atp

✨ Eren is one of those ppl who are scared of love so the intensity of his feelings for Mikasa scare him so when he's hanging out he's like

" Mikasa looks pretty I wanna hold her hand. Welp, time to fuck or beat one out"

✨ Eren is defo popular among the ladies but he isn't flirty, he's just polite. He isn't a fboi despite what other writers say

✨ He does like hookups doe. He'll back off if a gal aint interested doe

✨ Eren also seems like a tattoo kinda guy. He has one of an eagle on his neck and his initials on his back

✨ Idk why but he rubs me as the type of dude who'd be friends with kids. Like 1 or 2. Namely, Gabi and Falco

✨ Eren goes to Paradis college and FalBi go to Paradis middle school. They used the college performing hall for a play and Eren volunteered to help prepare the stage to get out of classes. That's when he met a sweet, quiet Falco and a hyper, feral Gabi. He was amused by their interactions and got nostalgic seeing them tbh cuz he remembered his elementary days with Armin

✨ Gabi was trying to rope Falco in for another one of her dangerous plans and Falco ultimately caved

" Let's sleepover in this hall tonight. Our parents are out and I bought all the stuff we need"

" What? That's crazy! What if we get caught?"

" Fine, but it's on you if we get in trouble"

✨ They've been talking ever since and when Eren realized Gabi is Reiner's fave and closest cousin, they became closer

Summary: Tsuki realizes he needs to let her in to understand him.

Inspired by If I Could Fly by One Direction, I never thought I’d get nostalgic and listen to this song for the sake of this Fic.

He knew it, if only she could too.

She was always there. Following him and Yamaguchi around. Yamaguchi never cared that she was there, he enjoyed having another friend. He was always so nice. Always accepting everyone that said hi. He needed to be careful, People come and go all the time. He shouldn’t be so trusting.

A year had passed since they met. She had shown up to almost all of their games during their tournaments wanting to cheer on her friends. Especially during the Nationals. Their team needed the extra support. Tsuki would never admit how happy it made him to see her cheering them on.

“Y/n!” Yamaguchi yelled, causing Tsukishima’s head to shoot up towards their friend.

“Yams! Tsuki!” She waved, approaching them, “How was practice?”

“It was good!” Yamaguchi was excited as always.

“It was fine” Tsuki shrugged it off, he hated the small talk. Why must she always stick around?

Y/n tried her best to ignore his comments, he always seemed so negative about everything. It felt like his negativity was always directed at her. Yamaguchi gave her an apologetic look. He knew what she felt. She had spoken to him about it before and he had did his best to reassure her that Tsuki didn’t hate her.

The three walked in silence for a while. Unsure of what to say, y/n decided to find something to talk about.

“There’s an action movie that comes out this weekend, maybe we could all go see-”

“Can’t.” Tsuki interrupted her, waving it off.

“Why not?” She raised an eyebrow, annoyed that he didn’t let her finish speaking.

“I don’t want too.” Tsuki didn’t look at her, he spoke as if he could care less.

“Tsuki.” Yamaguchi snapped at his friend, “You don’t need to be so rude, she was just as-”

“Fine. Don’t go. I’ll invite Hinata and Yachi instead.” She turned her gaze away from them, “Yams you can still come though.”

Her street came up and she had never been so excited to get away from them. No. Him. Normally they would walk her to her house, since it was dark out. She just wanted to get away from them.

“I’ll see you tomorrow. Night.” She turned onto her street and walked away before they could protest. She could hear Yamaguchi scold hid friend as she hurriedly made her way home.

Why was he always so cold with her? Had she done something to him in the past? She couldn’t think of a reason. She grew to like him. He was always so different compare to most. He was good academically and physically. He was amazing in her eyes. Was she too cheerful with him? Was she just annoying?

She sighed in relief when her head hit the pillow on her bed. Home at last. She wasn’t going to put up with his cold demeaner any more. She had enough.

The following morning she left at her normal time, walking to the school earlier than needed became a habit for her since she would walk with the two boys. Just like every morning they waited at the end of her street for her.

“Morning Yams” She greeted only him. She didn’t say another word as she kept walking next to Yams. The boys knew right away this wasn’t normal. Tsuki was always in the middle of them two. Listening to their pointless conversations. This time Yams was in the middle and she made sure of it..

The walk was silent and awkward. No one wanted to say a word, and those that did, didn’t know what to say. Y/n kept her eyes looking straight ahead. Yamaguchi looked at Tsuki, a puzzled look, only to see he was just as confused. What happened to their friend to make her stay so quiet?

The school building came into their sights. She let out a sigh before walking a head of them. Waving goodbye in the process. She was definitely not happy. Tsuki and Yamaguchi headed to the gym.

“What did you do to piss her off?” Yamaguchi practically yelled at his friend as they began to practice.

“Why would I do anything to piss her off?” Tsuki shrugged tossing the volleyball to his friend.

“Who did Tsuki piss off?” Hinata asked as he approached them.

“Y/n” Yamaguchi replied, tossing the ball back to Tsuki, “She hardly spoke to us this morning. Well she spoke to me a little bit.”

“Tsuki was probably being rude to her again.” Hinata nodded his head, as if he knew the answers to everything.

“This doesn’t concern you.” Tsuki snapped at him.

“She’s my friend too!” Hinata yelled back.

Tsuki would never admit this, but he hated that you didn’t acknowledge him this morning. He hated not knowing why. He shrugged it off, it’ll blow over by the end of the day.

Only it didn’t.

She never showed up to meet them after practice. Before that she didn’t speak a word during any of their classes. Keeping to herself.

Yamaguchi groaned as he read the text from y/n

‘Don’t wait for me, I went home after school.’

“And you probably thought she was gonna be fine by now!” Yamaguchi shoved the phone on Tsuki’s hand so he could read the text.

“Well I don’t know her problem!” Tsuki was frustrated, why was she acting like this??

“Well I can list a few things!” Yamaguchi let out a groan, “You are always so cold towards her, You hate that she includes herself in our lives don’t you? Why? Because you hate that she fits into your life perfectly and you are too stubborn to accept the fact that liking her scares you! I see how you look at her! You liked her since we met her!”

“I-” Tsuki was at a loss of words.

“She wanted to see a movie with us and you completely blew her off, you could’ve tried to be nicer about it! She’s my friend too and I hate seeing her upset.” Yamaguchi ranted, he almost jumped away from his friend, the glare Tsuki had always scared him. But the glare never came.

“I’ll talk to her.” Tsuki gave in, he didn’t bother denying anything his friend said. They were true.

Once they made it towards your street, Tsuki and Yamaguchi separated, He was going to talk to you tonight. He approached your front door and knocked.

“Hello?” A very sleepy looking y/n answered the door. She was in an oversized sweater and sweatpants. “Oh, what are you doing here?”

“I need to talk to you” Tsuki folded his arms.

“Fine, but be quiet, my mom is working still.” She allowed him to enter and he followed her to her room. Her parents were so used to the boys coming over it didn’t bother them. “What is it?”

“I wanted to ap-” He struggled to say what he thought, “Apologize.”

“What” Her eyes widened a bit, this was different for him.

Tsuki was struggling to say this thoughts. He never apologized often and speaking his mind on his feelings was way out of his comfort zone.

“You must really need to talk then, huh?” She tilted her head to the side, then shoved him towards her bed “Sit down and take a moment to think?”

She was always so serious when it came to people needing to talk. It always made him happy to see how concerned she was for others. Even though she was mad at him, she realized that there was something wrong and it would give her a reason as to understand him more.

“I’m just going to say everything.” Tsuki sighed, rubbing his temples, “This isn’t an excuse, but an explanation.”

“Okay, I’m listening” She sat beside him, preparing for what he had to say.

“I hate that you just show up one day, with this determination to be my friend. I hate that you never shut up for a moment. I hate how nice you can be. To me. I hate that laugh, when everything is funny to you. I hate that you are always around. Showing up to the games to cheer us on.” Tsuki ranted, looking down at the floor avoiding her eyes.

She wasn’t prepared for this. He didn’t like her.

No. That wasn’t the case. Not for him.

“But I hate the silence that followed me around today a lot more. I hated it when you stopped talking to me today. I hate how scared I am to open myself up to someone. I hate how attached I am to you. But I love it. Your stupid laugh. I want to hear over and over again. I want you around all the time. I missed you.” Tsuki had just laid everything out for her.

“Tsuki” She looked at him. He had opened up to her completely.

“I really like you y/n. This doesn’t excuse my actions towards you. I am sorry for that. Letting people in scares me. I’m scared they will leave. I pushed you away because I was scared to get attached only to lose you.” He let his guard down, he allowed himself to look up at her, the fear in his eyes were clear, he was scared of this moment, but at the same time he was trying to fight down the fear.

“Tsuki.” She stood up and moved herself to stand directly in front of him, “Though this doesn’t excuse your actions, it hurt me how mean you were to me, but I can forgive you.”

He took a deep breath as she cupped his face with her hands, “I really like you too. I want to get to know you. the real you. If you’ll let me one day. I want to move past this. I’m not going anywhere. I’m here and I’m staying.”

She gave him a deep kiss. Nothing too crazy, just a kiss that was full of meaning and passion. She was proving her point.

Tsuki waited till she pulled away, he opened his eyes and met hers, he desperately wanted this to work. He was going to make sure it did.

“Let’s take this slow yeah?” She smiled and kissed his cheek.

“Lets go see that movie then” Tsuki agreed, he was relived that he got this off his chest.

“Deal” She smiled happily.

“Hey y/n?” Tsuki studied her sweater, adjusting his glasses to get a better look.

“Yes?”

“Is that my sweater?”

ok so I really like this song it’s super super catchy but. But 😭 it has like those cash register sounds in the background and I mean it doesn’t ruin the song or anything but like it sounds like they’re trying to hard JDJDJDJJS I would not listen to this song in front of friends just because of the sound effects BUT like I said it’s really catchy so it kinda makes up for it!! My favorite part is when there’s the instrumental part that leads into a key change!! I rate this an 8.5/10

BATTLE BATTLE BATTLE—

i like this one a lot too! One thing that’s kinda cool is how they go back and forth on the chorus like matenrou is first I think and then fling posse and the way they’re going back and forth almost makes it seem like they’re really fighting yknow!!! Ummm also it has like Moments where like idk they’re memorable like when doppo screams or Gentaro does the whispery thing and I like that!! This ones also 8.5/10

Black Journey—

dont get me wrong I do like this one but it’s probably in my bottom three 😭 I don’t actually dislike it THAT much it’s just that I really like all the other songs ig? There’s really only one song I dislike but we’ll talk about that later anyways this song is pretty nice I’m not good at recognizing voices but whoever is singing in the very very beginning (Gentaro???) did a very good job I’m gonna give this a 6.5/10

a lot of what I’m gonna say here goes for both of gentaros songs but they both sound almost unfinished? That’s not really what I mean idk how to describe it they both sound like they’re missing something?? theyre both extremely catchy and really well written which kinda makes up for it but it’s still kinda noticeable yknow? BUT im not saying this song isn’t good like it’s really good but it COULD be better I think but um for some reason the chorus makes me nostalgic?? I have no idea what for but yeah. Hmm 8/10

Im insane for liking this song so much it’s so obnoxiously upbeat and I swear I should hate it but I DONT because like yeah it’s obnoxious but it’s catchy and I can never be sad or angry while listening to it cuz it cheers me up. im embarrassed to like this song as much as I do 😭 but like. love this one!!! just like with Gentaro’s other song this one sounds a bit unfinished and I don’t like it quite as much as his other one but it’s still really really catchy his voice sounds very smooth and nice here!!! Also it has this one like piano bit in the background that I like :)) I really like the chorus but the reason why I like this one less than the other is because the rest (outside of the chorus) is a tiny bit boring but still I’ll give it 7.5/10

SCRAMBLE GAMBLE—

im also embarrassed to like this one as much as I do but this might be one of my favorites 😭 no idea why but I really like it my favorite part is the right to left left to right part there’s more lyrics than that but that’s all i can remember AND it doesn’t have cash register noises so it’s a step up from dices other song I really really like it 10/10

SHIBUYA GHOST NIGHT—

Maybe it’s just me but I feel like this one doesn’t seem to be as popular but for whatever reason I’m like obsessed with it 😭 I really like Halloween and in theory this could be considered kind of a Halloween song??? Not really but like ghosts and stuff idk and it always gets stuck in my head I really like it 9.5/10

SHIBUYA MARBLE TEXTURE—

this ones cute the beginning sounds like .idk how to describe it like bouncy??? It’s very bouncy???? I like how they say the name of who’s rapping before they start that’s nice and I like the kind of call and response part thats a little towards the end idk I don’t have much to say 8/10

I like the original a tiny bit better than the remix but this ones nice too! It doesn’t have as much of the like bounciness but it still sounds good. The background part when each person like individually raps makes me really nostalgic for some reason? My only complaint is I don’t really like the siren noises they always take me by surprise even tho I know they’re coming 8/10

this is the only one I’ve looked at lyric translations for and the song itself AND the lyrics are both really nice. I love the piano part a lot it’s really nice and there’s this really specific line in dices part that I really like when it has the like descending violin thing which gets me EVERY TIME 😭 also towards the end I think it’s the last time they sing the chorus there’s like a drum roll added in (sounds like snare????) and I’m obsessed with it and also again towards the end they add like more background instruments to like flesh out the sound (?) and I really like that 10/10

The boat is a must and it is happening!! Hehe yes the tubing would be chaotic, everybody is just trying to get each other to fall in 😂. Hehe brigid gets so wrapped up in laughing at us that Braden pushes her in haha. Yes we all look super hot in our bikinis, and the boys are speechless! Like dyl and Jamie are just like wow, she looks so amazing! And Kirby is so in love w you, he’s like I’m the luckiest man ever. I’m still gonna make sure that I wear a non tie bikini so that it doesn’t untie, like one time I was in the boat and my friend pulled on the string and the entire thing untied and I just jumped in the water to retie. my relationship with digital art and how BNHA salvaged it

I just wanted to let out my thoughts but I can only do it here :>

This might be a downer for some people but I’d like to share it with people here. BNHA means the world to me and this is why.

I first started drawing when I was 7 years old in 2006

I think it’s ugly now, but 7 year old me remembered being so proud of this because this is a drawing of my stepfather. This is the only drawing I have that was from my childhood. I think the aim here is to draw in anime style BUT I didn’t even watch anime back then. I had a classmate who loves anime and she taught me to draw in school. Drawing became a favorite hobby immediately after that.

Then it was 2013 and I was 14 years old. Drawing is still my favorite thing to do besides being on the computer. I love anime at this point too. My parents bought an iPad for the whole family, but I was almost always the one using it. I discovered an app called ArtStudio and thought “Wow, I can draw without making a mess and with only my fingers” because I was always too lazy to take out my drawing materials and clean up afterwards.

These were my first digital drawings. The pirate one was the very first. I got obsessed real fast. I can color so easily, undo any mistake, layers are a blessing too. There was just so much more freedom. I always sucked at coloring in traditional art and I didn’t like the mess (idk my hands get so messy traditionally)

The next year, it was 2014, I was 15. My birthday is in a couple of months and I knew my parents were planning to buy me something pricey (I think it was a laptop) so I approached them and asked if they could just buy the Wacom Bamboo as a present which was cheaper anyway and I even explained how it works to them and how it would allow me to draw on the computer instead of the iPad. I tried really hard to be convincing. I would have prepared a powerpoint presentation if I had to.

They did give me the wacom as a present. They even gave it to me months before my birthday so I could use it already. I thought I was the luckiest teen in the world with my parents.

These are a collection of my favorite works from 2014 to 2016. The middle one was my second drawing using wacom and Paint Tool SAI. I was a part of a lot of fandoms in those years lol

It gets downhill from there :/

April 2016, my mom and I moved to Japan, while my stepfather and siblings stay in my country. It was tough. For someone who is obsessed with anime, you’d think I’d be thrilled to live in Japan.

I was. Though only at the first few months. It’s not the same as it’s portrayed in anime (I should’ve known but I used to be blinded by anime). It was just lonely. The language barrier sucked and then lots of financial and family issues until my parents split. I got my first boyfriend too and I thought I was blessed by the nicest boy, but the relationship became extremely toxic but I didn’t have it in me to walk away.

All the shit that happened affected me mentally and emotionally. My biggest outlet which was digital drawing, was also out of the question because I did not have a computer/laptop when we moved to Japan. We left it in our home for my stepfather and siblings, even the iPad. I have my wacom with me, but no computer/laptop to use it with. I couldn’t draw.

I tried though. I used my phone to draw, but it wasn’t the same. Then the life problems got piled up, things got worse, and I just lost motivation in anything. Literally anything. From 2016 to 2019, I stopped watching anime, I dropped out of all the fandoms I’m in, I stopped watching my favorite TV series or movies, and I stopped drawing. I even got a bit disconnected with my friends who lived in my country (we talk regularly online). My family was broken so I gave all my attention to my toxic relationship as well which made everything worse too lol

I didn’t draw besides from a few scribbles and the drawings above. I did try digital art on my phone a couple of times again and even posted them on my IG, but they weren’t any good. Eventually, I got mentally and emotionally drained and dropped out of senior high school. I just stayed home for almost a year, leeching off of my mom. I felt even more worthless and my life had no direction at this point. Nothing mattered anymore.

April 2019 or so I think, my (ex)bf bought me a laptop. He says it’s a gift, but I think the real reason was to make up for something horrible that he did (which is stupid because money /gifts won’t resolve anything). I have a laptop. I can draw again, but I didn’t. I didn’t care, I wasn’t interested in drawing anymore anyway.

Welp. June 2019, I went back to my country. My (ex) bf stayed in Japan. The distance helped me end the relationship and my friends were there (they always were) to help put me back together along with two trips to therapy. I went back to finish my senior high school in my own country this time. That said, I have to stay in my country for school (but I was happy because I didn’t wanna go back to Japan yet when the breakup was still fresh and with going back to school, my life has a direction again.)

It was weird. I remember just being sorta lost and confused because I used to put my time, effort and everything into my previous toxic relationship, which was now gone. I was free and I had so much free time that I didn’t know what to do with it. I got so used to doing nothing and being nothing.

This is where BNHA enters.

Dunno when it started, but I started seeing Bakugou frequently online. It’s usually just Bakugou. I knew who he was because my friend suggested BNHA to me back in late 2018 I think but I didn’t watch it since I’ve lost interest in everything at that point in my life.

But ye I thought he hot af but I still didn’t watch BNHA.

But then for some reason he REALLY kept appearing in my social medias and it was really frequent. The last straw was when I saw a pic of him in UA’s gym uniform and thought “damn boi aight imma watch bnha for u” (y’all gotta admit he looks good in those colors with his combat boots XD )

I watched BNHA. Fell in love with Iida along the way. Then I switched to Tokoyami (but Shoji was hot too so aaaaa), but then angry emotionally-constipated sea urchin head caught my heart again. But oof. BakuDeku moments really made me feel some type of way I haven’t felt since I moved to Japan. It felt new but nostalgic. I fell hard in that ship.

I started obsessing. From memes to posts to fanfictions to buying merch to filling my room with BNHA posters. I realized I was reverting to my old self from the time I was still happy and it was thanks to BNHA (and the good people who helped me through the worst too)

Shit I wanted to draw BNHA, I thought.

I mean, I have a laptop, I still have my wacom and drawing softwares. I could totally draw digitally again if I wanted to.

But guess what

I can’t :c

My hand physically cannot draw. My drawings don’t look the way I want them too. 3 years of not drawing really destroyed any skill I had. I was back to square one.

September (yeah they’re ugly, I laughed at it). If you’re wondering why I drew on paper, it’s because, for some reason, I really CANNOT draw digitally. I mean it. I can barely sketch digitally at this point. The lines and shapes just doesn’t come to life. They’re just scribbles. But somehow, I can kinda draw on paper with a ballpoint pen. But yeah, that was the best I could do at this point in my life

After that, I still tried to draw, to regain my old art style, but it didn’t happen... It just doesn’t look or feel the same. Drawing used to be fun. But during this phase, it felt like my ugly drawings were just mocking me (probably was just too emo that time lol)

Weirdly, around a week or two I think, after my half-assed attempts at drawing, I managed to draw digitally somehow o.o

I did a Midoriya and Todoroki drawing like this too. It was my first post here on Tumblr I think. The annoying part here is that I cannot draw digitally unless I draw on paper first, take a pic, and then trace the lineart. I couldn’t draw directly on the computer. Granted, drawing on paper and drawing on digital is very different for me in the first place anyway. But it was still a pain. And it still looked like shit. I can only draw stiff poses :/ it seems like my brain decided to delete all data about anatomy and posture and backgrounds. My lineart here is even messy af. It still really not the same as my old style.

By 2020, I think I got my old art style back. On March, I made this. This took me 27 total of hrs to make.

Right now, I think it’s not bad, but back in March, I was disappointed with the result. This is when I finally broke down crying because it didn’t look good enough and I hated that it took me 27 hrs to draw “bullshit.” I was angry at myself for losing interest in drawing for 3 years when I could’ve used that time to improve. I had to start all over again and it still didn’t look good. (Current me thinks that the drawing above is alright. I was just a lot harsher to myself back then. Used to have a lot of issues but I’m doing great now)

I cried myself to sleep that night. Woke up wanting to cry again. I wallowed in sadness for a couple of days. Eventually told my friends what’s up. Got some pep talk. Even talked to my sister (she’s great, she always hypes me up with my stuff and sometimes I think she’s my biggest fan with how she appreciates my drawings and I’m really grateful for that).

My world turned a 180 and I was weirdly positive after all that crying because brain chemicals and shit. I had a revelation. If I hate how my art style looked so much, then I should have been putting effort in changing my art style, not trying to regain my old art style (that I don’t like anymore)

I researched a lot. I analyzed different art styles and anatomy again. I did everything I could think of to find a style that works for me. I might have even neglected school for a bit to focus on digital art lmao

After all that work, I posted a fanart of middle school BakuDeku in their classroom. I love that fanart so much even if I probably have better ones by now because that was the first fanart I made that I felt like I could be proud of and it was the first one I made in my new art style. It was a milestone for me.

March 2020, I moved back to Japan and without the toxic relationship, I’m a lot positive now. Happy. I’m myself again after the previous bad years. I’m still continuously learning though, trying to improve, but at least, now, I found my own art style :) I really suck at interacting with people online, but I’m always grateful for the support everyone has been giving my fanarts. I’m happy when my content makes people happy.

This is why BNHA is important to me. The series is great alone, but it’s not just that to me. BNHA is so much more. It’s what made me find the passion to create again, only this time, it’s focused on drawing (I used to write, but now I just draw, but maybe I’ll write again for BNHA).

My family is supportive with my love for BNHA, but I think they don’t know the deeper reason why I love it. Sure, I was fine living on with nothing much going on in my life. I’ll finish school, get a job, work until I die or something. It was okay. It was the way of life. But BNHA gave my life color again. I wasn’t just blindly going through life anymore. I have something to look forward to everyday now. BNHA even became a bridge to other things. Ever since then, I’m a lot more open to people, to try new things, to explore and not just live through life and waste away. I got better at leaving my comfort zone. I’ve never been happier in my life :D

hi lei :3 what did you do today? i went to the libary to try for a part time job or voulenter but because of the covid situation their unsure if they need either i still gave them my contact info so hopefully :3 i used to go there often and even voulentered when i was younger it felt nostalgic i had too much time on my hands so i helped make an activity kids are eventually gonna use work like that feels rewarding the place is really nice for kids makes me think of klee n albedo imgine him reading to her 🥺🥺 or joining a kids activity with her their dynamic is so cute- 🍰

ooooooooh!! that sounds a lot of fun! spending a big chunk of the day inside a library for a valid reason honestly sounds like a dream come true. i hope you get the job! idk how this would sound but... i don’t really ‘like’ kids (unless they’re fictional) ahsghabshsjahah— but volunteer work, and doing something for others,, all of that sounds good. idk maybe i’m just turned off bc all the kids i met have been complete little shits.

i once had to do smth like that for school. we had to choose a story and tell it to the children in a ‘creative’ way. traumatizing, really. their unimpressed gaze as a bunch of introverts attempt to tell a story w finger puppets is still burnt inside my mind. but the concept of the activity is nice ig. imagine telling bedtime stories w albedo and he awkwardly wiggles one of klee’s toys as he says the dialogue and you’re trying not to laugh as you say your lines. or! or maybe, doing those finger painting activities w them and klee makes a clumsy portrait of you three holding hands and then she boops albedo’s nose and she laughs and invites you to gang up on him and while albedo doesn’t necessarily see the point of having a paint war (and is honestly dreading the cleaning up part), he ends up smiling along bc you two seem so happy and maybe... just this once, impracticality would be alright.

Do you have an idea before or after creating a character? nowdays, usually before. in the early days, when i was just testing out professions and races and stories, not really.

Which race is your favorite to imagine a story about? sylvari.

Do you often use the same faces?

Do you often use the same skin colors?

Do you often use the same tattoos? never. i have a policy to never use the same things. (or combinations at least)

Do you use the sliders for the face or not? always! are there really people who don’t??

Do you bother to pick colors for the starter armor or not? yeah but idk why bc i can basically insta level any character i make with all my scrolls and tomes lmao plus i change to outfits anyway

Do you pick carefully the choices for your character base story? yes, though nowadays i tend to just pick the stories i like best and not follow base storylines for rp at all

If no, is it always the same choices (ie. easiest to complete)? ^ sort of...

Do you not bother at all and only use a makeover kit once in game? even if i’m gonna switch to exclus i still make an effort bc i aint gonna look ugly in the first cutscene (yes i watch it always its nostalgic)

Do you like/use exclusive faces/hairstyles more? hold on i’m gonna count actually now i’m interested. exclu faces.... 5?/22, hair 11/22.

Outfit or armor? armor mostly. outfit if i truly can’t find anything, for festivals&funny times, or as placeholder.

Do you stick with one armor for each character or do you change a lot? i try to stick for a time.

If yes, why? Is it for “RP” reasons or just aesthetic ones? i’m just always out of trans charges tbh lmao i hate mapping

Do you have a timeline for your characters (ie. date of birth, armors throughout the story)? storyline yeah, any big important appearance/other changes, not really armors n shit lmao other than me remembering what i used to play in

Is there a title you use more than another? like an in-game title? i have so many so i try to use as many as i can...

If yes, which one and why? ig “light in darkness” or “blazing light” or whatever those are? i’d have to check and im lazy lmao

What is a big difference from when you started the game to now in regard of characters creation (ie. going faster, going slower, making bold choices, settling on a particular style, etc)? i’ve become more bold i feel, and i stopped giving a shit about the main story lmao once you hit 2 of each profession you’ve kinda exhausted most options i feel, and there’s so many interesting things and possibilities that are not covered in the canon story of the commander. butt uh for the creation screen itself, i tend to plan out what i want with makeover kits, to the point i sometimes have screenshots of sliders, so ig it goes pretty fast overall - i dont go to char creation unless i already know what i’m doing
