Appointment Update:

The dr laid out some of the most likely causes of my miscarriage, one being my gestational diabetes, and another possibly having clotting issues. Merry talked about what I take on a daily basis which includes:

Metformin

Prenatal

D3

Iron

Women’s multivitamin

She advised to stop taking the women’s multivitamins because I may be getting to much vitamin A which is not good for pregnancy. She also advised to add aspirin to my daily medication; in the event I do have a clotting issue.

I did advise her that I have yet to have a natural cycle since my miscarriage, so she prescribed provera for 10 days so my body will have a withdrawal bleed. Once that happens we will start the fertility treatments again.

She did test my hcg levels again but did not do any genetic testing. She did say if I have another miscarriage to bring in any tissue and they can have it tested. If I would have brought it in this last time they would have tested it but I was told not to by the front desk.

I am glad we are able to get back on track and hopeful that we can have a better outcome in the future. On my way home from the visit I was playing my praise playlist and I had an image flash in my mind of baby feet with a hospital bracelet around the ankle. If that isn’t a sign from God I don’t know what is.

My husband Alec and I have been trying to have a baby for several years now and it has been a struggle. I have PCOS which causes me not to ovulate very often if at all. We are now working with a fertility clinic called REACH in Charlotte, NC to better our chances. They have me on a few medications right now and we are getting lots of different testing done to see what may work best and if it’s doing what it should. This is going to be a bit of a long journey but of course this can all get very expensive. While we are looking to avoid a procedure if possible all of the testing adds up. If you are able Alec and I would really appreciate any donation you can give so that we can make this dream a reality. Every penny counts but we understand not everyone can afford to make a donation but ask that you keep us in your prayers.

Right now we are still getting treatment plans set up so we don’t know the full estimate just yet but we are starting our donation goal at $5,150. Due to the fact that we don’t have a set estimate we are also giving the option that if the cost doesn’t end up being that high we can either return donations or use it towards other baby expenses. We would never use anyones kindness for another purpose.

CD1 fascinating enough, I started spotting yesterday in the middle of a family kickball game. Today marks CD1 so I have already called the doctor and made the appointment for my fertility lab work and they are going to talk about scheduling my ultrasound and hsg. I guess I would rather be 4 days early then late or to start over the weekend and mess up the timeline for these dr visit.
