His front guards a center that his conflict filled world would be happy to tear apart. As the child of people from two nations in constant conflict--one of which is explicitly isolationist and dehumanizes those outside its church's reach--he hasn't really had a place where he can be without his facade. Annabeth who doesn’t trust the gods because she knows that it’s “eat or be eaten and power and glory and nothing else matters”. Annabeth whose own mother let a monster attack them in her temples Annabeth. Annabeth who believes that love and being taken care of and protected is something that needs to be earned. YEAH THAT ANNABETH—FULLY BELIEVED THAT POSEIDON HER MOTHER’S RIVAL SAVE HER FROM THE FIELDS OF ASPHODEL.

I’m saying it again cuz it needs to be said. Annabeth who does not trust the god’s to help her TRUSTED POSEIDON. Because he earned it with her.

She just spent the entire quest watching God after God fail them including her mother except Poseidon. Who caught Percy and gave them four pearls instead of three.

Finished reading Fields of Asphodel this morning, and my intense need to draw stuff for it single-handedly obliterated my art block. This is my MC Persephone (they/them), and they are incredibly in love with Hades.

Thanks to @chrysanthemumgames for making this wonderful story, it makes me so happy to be able to play a character who stims the same way I do! I can't wait for book 2.

(There's some silly stuff and a wip I probably won't finish under the cut :P)

i love the metaphor about the trees of asphodel. it’s basically saying that you’re rooted to your regrets. your regrets are apart of you if you don’t let them go. they will consume you if you’re not able to keep it from that. it’s about how when you regret something and aren’t able to keep it from going to deep, it’ll be in every move, everything you say, do. i love this.
