Why I paint… each painting is a story… and has a story. From the subject who cried as she was walking out of the studio because the first time in her life she felt seen… the two bathers who were a way to pay homage to Degas who was an idol. Being careful to steal the soul, but leave the bones and not copy. To the painting where working from life had me paint a body when the model had purple hair and her head when she arrived for the second sitting with Orange hair. I feel so lucky to be able to do this!
