Thinking about how one of the meals my poor ass family would make when I was a kid was 'flower bread', aka slices of bread topped with a processed cheese slice and tomato slices and baked in the oven and eaten like toast.

I'm perplexed why we even called it that. Sure, I understand *why*, the tomatoes look like flowers, but I don't know if it was our idea or it was something that came from something else, as in more

It never occurred to me to ask and now I really can't because while my mother's memory isn't bad per say I feel like after my dad died and she got remarried she got super bad at remembering shit from my childhood. As if she washed her hands of that time with he bastard late husband, and the idea of 'flower bread' will just be a whimsical thing now but have no idea what I'm talking about.

Its happened before, like I remember she used to make some sort of float that involved straight lemon juice and vanilla ice cream... I imagine some kind of citrus based soda? She'd do it constantly, but for whatever reason when I ask her now what was that she has no idea.

Every time i tell people i buy groceries every 14 days they seem shocked by this and tell me they buy groceries every day or several times a week.

That in turn blows my mind, as someone who couldn’t possibly hate buying groceries more than i do, i can’t imagine doing it that often.

Bonus if you tell me in the tags how you feel about shopping for groceries. Do you hate it with a passion like me? Feel indifferent to it, just another chore? Or do you somehow love it?
