Episode 20: Major Questions

As time passed, Lucy still felt perplexed by her job. She knew Damien wanted to expand the company to other forms of digital media, but to what exactly? And why was he leaving those sort of decisions in the hands of a new hire who he hadn’t even met?

Lucy’s confusion was complicated by the fact that she enjoyed being at Rainy Day. She liked her coworkers and saw a lot of potential in the company. Even with all of the uncertainty about her role, she was still getting paid and it was helping a lot. On the other hand, how could she feel secure in her job when she didn’t even understand what her job was?

Frustrated, she turned to the internet to do some research on Damien. If no one at work could tell her what his expectations were, maybe she could find out from outside sources.

Through her searching she discovered that Damien hadn’t always been so reclusive. He gave a lot of interviews in the past that provided more information about the mysterious entrepreneur. She learned that he grew up in San Myshuno, raised by his widowed mother along with his brother. Apparently his mom had quite the avid interest in computers and technology, but it was hard for a woman to make it in a field like that back in those days.

Now Lucy understood why he was so adamant about hiring women at his company. He wanted to give them the opportunities his mother never had. He also spoke a lot about the lack of representation in the field of anyone who wasn’t a straight, white, cis male.

Looking at her coworkers, Lucy could see that Damien was trying to amend that. She was finding herself endeared to the man, as infuriated as she was by his lack of leadership. She had to wonder, why her? What was it about Lucy that made him think she of all people should be at the helm of all of these big decisions?

Suddenly, it dawned on Lucy that maybe that was never his intention. Parker had said that everyone else who was interviewed declined the position, insinuating that they didn’t want all of that responsibility. But what if that wasn’t what the job was at all? Lucy finally realized what she needed to do.

Hey y'all! I've really felt like making more cc lately, but I'm determined to upload some more of my completed recolors before I hop into any new projects. Here we have two summer themed recolors, a dress and a jumpsuit! Details, credits and download links below the cut.

DETAILS:

These are recolors of @joliebean's jungle dress and @akalukery's plunge halter jumpsuit. Mesh is included thanks to the original creators generous tou's, but I recommend you check out and download the originals as well.

the dress has 15 swatches and the jumpsuit has 12, various summer themed patterns for both.

Both have custom thumbnails for the first swatch.

these definitely aren't perfect recolors, but honestly I think they work just fine and I liked how they ended up so I figured I'd share.

P.S sorry that i'm never going to use any other preview style for CAS cc, it's just too easy to use this template and I do not have the energy to do proper previews anymore especially if i'm going to be uploading a bunch of stuff, which i plan to!

Investment Mod by Twinsimming 📈📉

Based off of the investment feature from The Sims 4 business career, this mod gives your sims the ability to research and invest in the stock market.

This is a script mod that can be placed in your Packages folder. It was built and tested on 1.69 but should work fine on 1.67.

SimNation Stock Market

Sims aged Young Adult and older can now invest in the SimNation Stock Market (SNSM) on the computer under the new “Investing…” pie menu path. From there, your sim can either “Research Stocks” or jump straight into the market and “Invest In Stocks…”. 

Sims can invest four different amounts of money: §1000, §2000, §5000, and §10000. As the amount of money increases, so does the risk of losing money on your initial investment.

Investing §1,000 has a 25% risk, investing §2,000 has a 30% risk, investing §5,000 has a 35% risk, and investing §10,000 has a 40% risk.

Every investment has the opportunity to produce returns from 101% up to 250%, or lose anywhere from 0.01% to 100% of the initial investment amount.

Sims will receive a return on their investment in 2 days. They cannot invest again until they get their return.

Certain traits can either increase or decrease your chance of risk by 5% when investing (note: this value stacks the more traits your sim has):

Increased Chance Traits - Unlucky, Loser, and Absent-Minded

Decreased Chance Traits - Lucky, Genius, and Born Salesperson

New Interactions

Research Stocks - Gives the Financially Focused custom moodlet. Not researching stocks before investing increases the chance of risk when investing by 5%.

Invest In Stocks…

Invest In Stocks (§1,000) - Gives the Small Investment custom moodlet, 25% risk of losing money.

Invest In Stocks (§2,000) - Gives the Medium Investment custom moodlet, 30% risk of losing money.

Invest In Stocks (§5,000) - Gives the Large Investment custom moodlet, 35% risk of losing money.

Invest In Stocks (§10,000) - Gives the Very Large Investment custom moodlet, 40% risk of losing money.

New Moodlets

Financially Focused: Given after a sim uses the “Research Stocks” interaction, lasts 1 day, +5 mood

Small Investment: Given after a sim uses the “Invest In Stocks (§1,000)” interaction, lasts 2 days, +10 mood

Medium Investment: Given after a sim uses the “Invest In Stocks (§2,000)” interaction, lasts 2 days, +10 mood

Large Investment: Given after a sim uses the “Invest In Stocks (§5,000)” interaction, lasts 2 days, +10 mood

Very Large Investment: Given after a sim uses the “Invest In Stocks (§10,000)” interaction, lasts 2 days, +10 mood

Line Go Up: Given after a sim gains money from their investment, lasts 12 hours, +10 mood

In The Red: Given after a sim loses money on their investment, lasts 12 hours, -10 mood

❀    EDITING TIPS.

the white color fill needs to match the color of your posts : to change this you must double click the white box on the color fill layer + it should take you to a window to change it. the same goes for the blue music player background in version 1 specifically ( there is a different process for version 2 ) or you can remove the white background but the stroke layers may look a little funny .

to change the blue background on version two you must change it through the shape fill ! the same goes for the gradient switch

Lunch Meat Sandwiches Default Replacement

I wanted a vegetarian-friendly replacement for these but didn't find anything that ticked all my boxes (clean template, reasonable polycounts, yada yada) so I gave it a go myself!

I snatched the avocado slice and textures from here, the bread got retextured as well but uses original meshes. I also made the spread bottle thingy a new texture.

The related text strings got replaced too, they now refer to these simply as lunch sandwiches.

Download default (SFS) (alternate) - the file is compressed. 512x256 texture.

The polycount is 540 for the single sandwich and 3240 for the group meal plate, so higher than the original (368 and 984). The other meshes are close to their original polycounts. Everything is properly morphed.

Edit: Now there's also a custom version!

Download custom (SFS) (alternate) - the file is compressed. Available for lunch and doesn't require any skill points. The name for the custom version is lunch avocado sandwich.

As always with custom food, please consider before adding. Deleting it from your game might cause issues.

Update (20.3.2023): Added French, Russian, and Finnish translations to both default and custom versions.

Leaf & Bean - Cafe-Style Menu Default

Hi everyone! I love love love @moyokeansimblr's Restaurant Menu Default Replacement -- it's so sleek and modern and classy, and my Sims...are not. XD I mostly build little cafes and teahouses, so I reached out to the lovely Mokoyean, and she gave me her blessing to use her default replacement as a template (this was before I learned to do it myself) for a design that would better suit my game, so many thanks to her! 🤗 I highly recommend you check out her default as well and see which design would work best for your game!

This menu has a heavy emphasis on coffee and tea, along with some soups and sandwiches:

And the back has a little cafe-style "logo", along with the rather generic name, Leaf & Bean Cafe:

And since Mara managed to get herself seated at the only table without a light 😂, here's the texture itself:

I used a combination of my Lorem Ipsim font and Franzilla's MaiOttograf with some leafy modifications, plus icons by kerismaker and Freepik at Flaticon.

I'll be making some board menus to match this style in the near future as well!
