Boy do I have some Kuruk headcanon
The fight with father glowworm scarred him so bad he started hallucinating like korra did post the fight and during his recovery
His right arm that he used to land his titanic strike on fgw was damaged so bad it was permanent, even after recovering his right arm kept shaking and it would cause him painful episodes every now and then, he no longer gif the ability to bend properly with it and had to adapt to using his left arm instead
Follow up to that, after he met Ummi, she noticed his arm and asked him about it, he dismissed it but she didn’t want to just leave it like that so she made him a compression sleeve that really helped out
He discovered he can waterbend at a very young age, five years old to be exact
He’s distantly related to korra
He’s the first guy ever to try air surfing (I know it’s shown that gyatso did it in the show but ut was never said that he’s the first guy to ever do that)
He’d go above and beyond for Ummi on their dates
He fell out of touch with his parents, despite them loving him dearly they kind of also had the same view the public had on him tho so it made their relationship freil
When Ummi introduced him to her parents Kuruk jumped off a cliff to prove his love for her, safe to say he got her dad’s blessing after that
The more he Slayed spirits the colder he permanently got which is why he’s a very touchy guy, the warmth of others brings him comfort
Following up to that, touch is his love language
On his very bad days where his sickness got to him, Ummi woukd climb with him in bed and they’d spend the rest of the day in each other’s arms
After ummi’s death he ended up cutting off his hair in an act of grief, nobody noticed tho cause he never took off his polar bear dog pelt outside
Kuruk and wan shi tong are good buddies surprisingly
Kuruk’s animal companion was a fox, specifically the same spirit fox he sent to Kyoshi at the end of her novel

Bought myself a good luck charm for my spinning wheel. I’ve called her Habetrot, after the fairy of the spinning wheel from the Scottish Borders.
In one tale about her, Habetrot reveals herself to a young women who, in order to be married, needs to prove herself an industrious spinner. After many false starts, Habetrot appears to her in the guise of an old women, unremarkable besides the length and thickness of her lips which have been deformed from wetting fibre to spin. This is how she is described in the Scots version of the tale:
“…for sittin on this stane wes the drollest littil auld wumman she haed ever seen in aw hir days. Atweill, an it haedna been for hir siller hair an the whyte nutch wi the freil she wure on hir heid, Mysie wad hae taen hir for a wee bit lassie, she wure sic a droll cuttie skirt raxin nae ferrer nor hir knees.
She hae a richt auld-farrant style aboot hir an she wad hae been a rael bonnie auld leddie, haed it no been for hir lips, that war verra lang an unco sonsie. This made hir gey ugsum, for aw hir rosie chowks an sheinin blek een.” [1]
Habetrot spins the yarn for the young woman which impresses both her mother and a passing laird. When laird wants her to prove her spinning ability, Habetrot and her fellow fairies appear, lips all deformed, to warn the laird that the young woman will end up like them if he sets her spinning. Astonished, the laird agrees to leave the spinning to Habetrot and married the young women.

Lo spirito universale, l'evoluzione, o quello che volete voi, tollera una sola verità.
La vostra.
Anzi, direi che qualunque percorso evolutivo ha come suo paradigma dominante la ricerca incondizionata della propria verità.
Lo scopo ultimo è riuscire a cogliere e rivelare la nostra autentica natura, la Freile, come la chiama Zeland, e vederla rispecchiata nel mondo.
C'è un suono caratteristico e unico della propria anima la quale, come spiegavo nella diretta sull'autoregolazione, è fatta di tante piccole componenti.
Quel suono rappresenta l'unica verità possibile, l'unica verità che possiamo ospitare.
Se ci sono due o più verità di mezzo tenute in ballo, per comodità, per paura o altro, quel suono non si sente.
Esso viene soffocato, oscurato, rendendosi spesso confuso.
La vita stessa, in questo modo, diventa confusa, e sopraggiunge una grande stanchezza.
L'anima si fa triste, e si ripiega su se stessa fino a che il dolore non diventa intollerabile.
A volte questo dolore assume la forma di una sensazione ottundente sparsa per tutto il corpo, non del tutto localizzabile.
Per mantenere dentro di sé dei conflitti, delle doppie verità, c'è bisogno di una grande energia, e siccome l'energia è limitata, prima o poi ci si svuota completamente, o ci si ammala.
Quando invece si trova la propria verità, ci si lascia andare ad essa, con tutte le responsabilità del caso, l'anima comincia a cantare, a ballare e a battere le mani di gioia.
Non c'è bisogno di fare molte cose per intraprendere questa strada, in realtà.
È sufficiente incamminarsi nel sentiero della ricerca, e soprattutto del sentire.
È a partire dal sentire che possiamo valorizzare noi stessi, e scoprire che cosa, dentro di noi, riflette la nostra verità.
L'ascolto di sé, probabilmente, è lo strumento più efficace per iniziare a dirigerci verso questo obiettivo.

...Silent zone Independence Day Welcome home AU. just another to add to the list.
if you aren't sure what silent Zone is, here; Silent Zone Independence Day is a novel by Stephen Molstad in 1997 - 1998 (i think?) as a prequel to the 1996 film "Independence Day". its set in the late 1960s and early 1970s and details the early career of Dr. Brackish Okun. it has Aliens, Some horror-ish elements, of sorts.
Anyhow. I was reading it and thought of a mix of welcome home with it too. I got a rough idea of which characters I'd put where, so I'll start with that introduction to the cast.
Wally Darling As Dr. Sam Dworkin.
Julie Joyful as [Undetermined].
Sally Starlet as [undetermined].
Barnaby b. beagle As Chibatutto.
Frank Frankly as Dr. Freiling.

there are some blanks in characters being I'm only on... Chapter four page 106? so, do forgive me. I'm trying to make connections everywhere. here's a page or two with the cast as the characters, edited to fit... somewhat. Dialogues might be mixed to fit cast members and who they are connected to.

Life seemed to get sweeter and sweeter for Y/N. when Home - a strange name for a guy, - told you where they were headed, you had prepared for a long, uninteresting car ride in the musky jeep they were in, which would've been a living nightmare. but instead, you and home - still a strange name, - went to Welcomes' Airport and signed in at the small cargo transport company, SwiftAir. You'd only flown twice in your lifetime, once when you had won the Westinghouse competition, and once to New York, for a whirlwind of a vacation in the big apple.
Today, they lifted off in a small - cramped - twin-engine Cessna. Once they were out, over the Sea of dry, hot desert, the captain invited you into the cockpit of the aircraft. it was a warmer spring day, and, as soon as you left LA's smog behind - in your dust, literally - the view was superb. you couldn't help yourself but to give into your childish urge and shove you face against the glass and imagine seeing a crashed UFO, your breath and palms smudging the clear glass. you felt lucky. Mr. Home had told you that they were heading for "A very important laboratory near Las Vegas." based on what the short, tanned guy with blue hair curled - somehow - into a spiral had told you three weeks earlier in your college dorm room, you assumed it was one of the National Labs in Mexico.
Visions of sparkling equipment and gleaming multi-story buildings danced at the forefront of your mind.
it was a Thursday, and Y/N wondered what the Set Offs - your group of misfit geniuses named after the band Set It Off - sitting in Professor Rain's Class, were thinking of your sudden disappearance. You would see if there was a way to sneak a postcard to them when you got settled. You were snapped out of your Daze as the Pilot announced,
"There She is, Lost Wages, Nevada." Y/N only had a moment to study the narrow build up alongside both sides of highway before the plane suddenly banked north. A few minutes later, the pilot turned and called back to Home over the noise of the roaring engines, "We're coming up to the Nellis Range perimeter, Sir."
Y/N looked down and saw they were flying over a double fence, one inside the other. I hope this isn't where we're headed.

World of Ideas and Imagination
It was impressive that the lesson on exploring diverse ideas from a single topic and making a combination with personal experiences to me. Particularly intriguing was that 'Playve' who is a Korean virtual idol can also be connected with week 9's keywords (digital realities). This exploration highlighted the experience of incorporating commonplace cultural phenomena into academic discourse, and let to know the various design elements hidden within our surroundings.
In the previous Photography module, it was very difficult for me to take pictures. I had to capture the moment to express abstract topics such as balance & rhythm, but I took only the things that I could intuitively see.
If I had learned WOII at that time, I could have captured it from a different perspective. I learned the ability to think from a different perspective and observe through various ways of thinking, so I will be able to complete more advanced assignments in the future.
Fundamentally, it would be a greatly helpful experience in comprehending something from a design perspective, serving as a valuable asset in my goal to become an outstanding designer. Moreover, the knowledge gained from WOII is beneficial for a communication design student.

Eurovision Chat Over Coffee, with Eurovision Reference Group Chair Bakel Walden.
The Eurovision Song Contest's Reference Group guides the Contest, overseeing its development and format, financing, brand awareness, and, of course, the Contest alongside the host broadcaster and the core team at the EBU.
In 2023, Dr Frank-Dieter Freiling retired as Chair after thirteen years, and Bakel Walden was voted to take his place at the head of the Reference Group. With two decades of experience in broadcasting, he is currently the Director of Development and Offering at Swiss EBU Member SSR SRG.
The Reference Group is one of the less visible parts of the management of the Song Contest, but one that has a significant say in the course of our Contest. On a recent trip to Malmö, Ewan Spence sat down with Bakel to talk about the role of the Reference Group, his television career, and how he sees Eurovision evolving over the next few years.

Nuevos modelos de autos en pista
Este fin de semana, el Turismo Carretera inicia su 87º campeonato en El Calafate con una emocionante oleada de novedades. El protagonista principal es el debut de los nuevos modelos de autos, entre ellos el Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, Toyota Camry nueva generación y el moderno Torino. Un espectáculo garantizado con al menos 9 autos nuevos en la parrilla.
Diversidad de modelos en competencia
Con la llegada del Chevrolet Camaro, Ford Mustang, Dodge Challenger, Toyota Camry y el Torino versión 2024, la "máxima" contará con una asombrosa variedad de 10 modelos en pista. Estos modelos se unirán a los tradicionales Ford Falcon, Chevrolet Chevy, Dodge GTX, Torino y el Camry con la versión 2022/23.
Cambios en la transmisión televisiva
La cobertura televisiva también experimentará cambios destacados en comparación con la temporada 2023. Ahora, las tandas de clasificación del sábado se podrán disfrutar en TV Pública, además de DeporTV y Motor Play. El domingo, la acción en vivo estará disponible en TV Pública y Motor Play a partir de las 10 de la mañana hasta las 14, con la novedad de que las series del TC se podrán seguir en vivo por TVP.
Potencia renovada en los motores
La ACTC ha decidido aumentar en 50 cm3 la cilindrada de los motores de todas las marcas y modelos del Turismo Carretera. Este cambio tiene como objetivo ampliar la potencia frente a los autos de TC Pista y la brecha entre el TC Pick Up y el TC Pista Pick Up. Se espera que esta modificación aporte entre 6 y 10 caballos de potencia, con cambios en las RPM máximas para Ford, Chevrolet, Dodge, Torino y Toyota.
Adiós a las gomas reselladas
Desde este campeonato, la ACTC prohíbe el uso de neumáticos resellados en Turismo Carretera y TC Pista. Cada piloto deberá adquirir un total de 8 gomas nuevas durante el fin de semana de carrera. Además, se implementa el sistema NA Tire Control para transparentar el sorteo y asignación de gomas.
6 debutantes prometen emociones
La temporada trae consigo la emoción de 6 pilotos debutantes en el TC. Entre ellos, Tobías Martínez, campeón del TCP, estrenará el Torino nueva generación. Facundo Chapur, Agustín Martínez, Sebastián Abella y Lautaro de la Iglesia se suman a la competición, mientras que Rudi Bundziak espera superar problemas económicos para unirse más adelante.
Cambios en el circuito de El Calafate
El autódromo Enrique “Quique” Freile de El Calafate presenta ajustes solicitados por la ACTC, destacando la modificación en la polémica curva número 1, ahora transformada en un impresionante curvón. Además, se realizaron ajustes en pianos y vías de escape.
Fechas confirmadas para el calendario
La ACTC ha confirmado los autódromos para las primeras 7 fechas del campeonato. El próximo fin de semana se abre el certamen en El Calafate, seguido por Viedma, Neuquén, Toay, Termas de Río Hondo, Concepción del Uruguay y Rafaela. El calendario incluye posibles fechas en Posadas, San Juan y Buenos Aires, culminando con el esperado GP Coronación en La Plata.
