Well, Makoto and his group, Hina, Hajime, Sonia, and Gekohara have found the sweets and blade couple. As far as I know they are hesitantly teaming up even with the couple trying to kill them....... Sonia put up a good fight and know one got hurt!

That's good to hear. I have nothing to fear knowing that Makoto and the others can take care of each other.

thought we'd check in on the Lost in the Hallway(tm) crew

SO it's still the same with the og survivor group joining, but more of the class is hopping aboard too (taka, chihiro, and sakura jumped at the chance). i think the only reason ff relented and allowed the remnants to use their hospital was because all of the thh class pulled sad puppy eyes & promised to take care of them. it's not all roses, but i think whatever wariness/resentment 78 feels towards 77 won't make them turn their backs. they are makoto's class after all.

no no the lil remnants have a more punch-on-sight adversary to watch out for. if not just to make their lives a little more difficult than they need to be ヾ(*´ ∇ `)ﾉ

Danganronpa wlweek2023 day one: Rarepair/Unloved Character

Hi all! I wanted to try and participate in this event and thought drawing Ruruka Ando for the unloved character would be a fun way to kick things off! I thought she was the most interesting part of Future Arc so it’s a shame she never really got any focus outside of that. She’s got such a fun design too, I love the fuzzy parts of her coat and her overall colour scheme!

I’m hoping to participate for all the days, thought I wasn’t able to get every one finished before have, so stay tuned!

idk if this is the right place to ask but what was the planned story of despair gang? (if you're okay with answering!)

At this point I have to be honest with myself and realise that no, I’m probably never going to go back to that fic considering all the plans I have for myself for the future (lol)

In that case, I’m finally going share what was going to happen in the rest of the plot (fun fact chapter 6 had already been half written before I stopped working on it rip)

So, for anyone curious, I’m going to leave a link to the unfinished chapter 6 (with some extra notes and art) and the rest of the plot under the cut

So, I kind of split the story into 5 acts and an epilogue, and chapter 6 was the start of act 2. Bear in mind I only wrote down a vague plan of the story as the majority of it was in my head at the time.

When it cuts back to the gang, before making it to the apartments, they come across a basketball court full of Monokumas in their way. They deal with them together as a team.

They then have a round of basketball together (Rin and Papyrus vs. Hajime and Matt) — Hajime manages to score the final dunk only because of the help of Izuru, who he quickly attempts to repress as the others cheer for him.

Afterwards, they find the apartments and settle into one that’s the least destroyed and messy.

Rest of Act 2:

At one point, the gang find a playground where Rin and Matt go on the swings. They talk about what they should do after the tragedy, mentioning theme parks, which sparks Hajime to chime in. Rin and Matt then go to the bathroom, leaving Hajime and Papyrus alone. Papyrus tries to talk to Hajime about what happened at the basketball court.

Another day, Hajime and Papyrus go out to find entertainment for Rin and Matt after the two complain about having nothing to do. Hajime gets his leg slashed by a Monokuma during an ambush, so Papyrus carries him to a bookstore where he can safety bandage him. He then gives Hajime a pep talk about his confidence. Hajime wants to say something back, but Monokumas once again catch them off guard, forcing them to flee back to the apartment.

Another day, Papyrus and Rin go out on a supply run while Hajime heals from his injury. During this time, Hajime gets to know Matt better, where he talks about his time working for Despair Melody (and puppy crush on Parappa).

There was going to be a scene where Hajime and Papyrus end up in an arena similar to the UDG game but instead of fighting a child, Gumi invites them into the middle of the arena for a challenge, demanding she gets Rin if she wins. However, Hajime and Papyrus manage to win, so Gumi cuts off her finger much to their horror.

The end of Act 2 would have the gang’s apartment being found and burned, forcing them to flee into the sewers.

Act 3:

After navigating the sewers for a while, they come onto land again where they realise they’ve ended up in a district all about Miku: billboards, flyers, merch stores, and music all around. They would go onto infiltrate Despair Melody’s base (which is the Parappa Town school). I think this was because they were going to use it to gain good reception to contact Future Foundation (and talk to Nagito and Parappa).

Act 4:

In an act of defiance and manic, Gumi kills Sunny. The gang wait atop the rooftop (of the school I’m assuming, perhaps to be picked up by Future Foundation) but are ambushed by Gumi, who they see has replaced her chopped off finger with Miku’s somehow. They would then flee through riots in the streets (probably Despair Melody’s doing) where they loose Matt during the escape. However, Izuru finally manifests, allowing Papyrus and Rin to be captured while he flees.

(I don’t remember what act this was going to be, but at one point while sitting alone, Hajime would finally gain the courage to tell Papyrus about Sans, but to his surprise, Papyrus figures it out himself. The two then have a hurt/comfort moment about it.)

Act 5:

Hajime is awoken/saved by AI Teto (was gonna be a whole other plot thing lol). Hajime then locates and saves Papyrus. As the two go to find Rin, AI Teto would take over a Monokuma and ensue some hijinks. Gumi would tell Rin the truth about Len: that he’s dead. He was the body that Miku used in the 3rd case of the 69th killing game that they dressed up as Miku (yes this is actually canon when Teto says “I didn’t want Miku to kidnap—” but cuts herself off in the 6th trial, she was going to spill that they kidnapped Len for that case). They save Rin and confront Gumi. Izuru manifests again, but this time to finish off Gumi himself by slashing her stomach.

I don’t know how this happens but in the plan it then says ‘the building explodes as the three are rescued by a Future Foundation helicopter’.

(I also assume this is the act where Hajime is finally true with his feelings towards Papyrus and is 100% reciprocated c’mon c’mon reverse sansmaeda real and true)

Epilogue:

The gang (I srsly don’t know what happened to Matt at this point maybe he was already on the helicopter that would be cool) join Future Foundation as the world starts to be rebuilt together. Gumi, who didn’t die, is put into the hope rehabilitation program.

Bonus: Hajime and Papyrus adopt Rin and Matt and now live as a family because a human and a skeleton can fall in love and raise a singing robot girl and a dog boy. The end :)

Also for anyone wondering, the participants of Sunny’s killing game were all planned to just die in the explosion, but hey wouldn’t it be funny if they were all found and rescued at the end instead 👍

I always find my way back to my roots lol. I wanted to spice up the future foundation outfits because they are some of the most boring designs in the series. A series known for cool and striking designs using uniforms as a base. I definitely want to redo/ refine byakuya’s look but I’m happy with what I got lol.

Got a paramount+ trial subscription. Just finished watching all of Strange New Worlds (review: solid star trek shenanigans, pretty much all bangers with the exception of the Spock-is-human episode which just suuuuuucked and the Klingon war trauma episode about which I have let's say Philosophical Reservations in that it could have been more Space M*A*S*H. not as gay as I was promised, in fact I would say disappointingly heterosexual. adore uhura, hemmer and la'an. cannot believe they gorned my boy 😢)

ik it's not a popular opinion but i think one of the reasons i still don't care for doveti-ger is bc i actually really liked how their arc ended in OOTS. i felt like there was a lot of maturity in dovewing's realisation that he thought her powers were 'cool' and they both got a thrill out of meeting up secretly, but that he didn't really understand her or share her values of what mattered--

but then the erins were like "lol first love is always true love, no exceptions" and then we regressed from there

My Review:

I don't usually read murder mysteries, but I really enjoyed this one. Allie Therin knows how to write great characters and a compelling, twisty plot of empaths and danger. I was kept guessing as the story progressed, and kept on the edge of my seat the whole time. I love the hints of slow-burn future romance, sown in a relationship of slowly growing trust. Reece is prickly and difficult and full to the brim with sarcasm (that constantly gets him and his sister in trouble). Evan Grayson - the Dead Man - is mysterious and brooding and competently takes charge of any situation and intimidates everyone into doing what he says. They make a wonderful combination (and argue constantly). Jamie is the best sister and detective and I'm so glad she has Liam to anchor her. I will absolutely be picking up the next book as soon as it is available. Highly recommend. *Thanks to NetGalley and Carina Adores for providing an early copy for review.

Everyone remembers the scene. It’s stuck in my brain. Every single time I look at him, I can see it playing on loop. And it breaks my heart.

The scene I’m talking about is where Makoto almost kills himself because of despair. And let me tell you, I felt a heck of a lot of despair while watching it.

So imagine this…

You and Juzo were the ones who stopped Makoto from ending his life. Watching Juzo pin the almost unrecognizable man who you’ve fallen in love with since the killing game struggle, cry, and grunt in pain made your heart shatter into a million pieces. It was at that moment your hope had left you. After all those days begging stuck in that god forsaken school, your hope slowly repairing with the help of Makoto’s blind optimism and kind words to you, it all comes to an end as you collapse onto your knees, tears streaming down yours cheeks, but your too stunned to even speak. Just silence as Juzo smacks some sense into him. Even as he returns to his original hopeful self, your despair still consumes you. You slowly get up and walk over to him.

“H-huh?! Ah! Reader, are you okay? Why are you- Ackk!”

Your plan on just walking over to him fails as you fall on top of him, your voice finally returning to you. His eyes widen as you let out a pent up wail, full of agony and suffering. You try to convey your thoughts and feelings in words, but only your loud crying can choke it’s way out of your throat. Hearing your destainful sounds, the sight of you desperately clinging onto him as if he is sand between your fingers, tears and snot dripping down your face, eyes red and puffy from crying so damn hard causes his heart to break as well. Yes, you heard me right, Mr. Sunshine and Rainbows’ heart literally cracks due to your despair.

As Juzo leaves in disgust, you finally find your words.

“M-Makoto… I- Sniff- I-I-I don’t know-Don’t know what I-I would have d-done w-w-without you… p-please I- please d-don’t…. PLEASE DON’T LEAVE ME!! I-I… I love you!!! S-S-So m-much!! Wahhahhhhh!!

For a few seconds, time froze. You… loved him? Everything made since now. You always stuck by him, during and after the killing game, even before it started. You were so kind to him, you defended him no matter what, you always made him feel less alone. But he never thought you cared about him in that way. The funny part is that he has also had a crush on you since high school.

Enough with the ones got, HC’s are easier

After a long time of comforting you (maybe around 30 mins or something, he really wanted to amen sir you were okay) he apologizes for ever letting himself fall into despair and for the fact you had to see him like that. It must had been very traumatizing. And it was. After that touching moment together as you both hugged while leaving against the wall, still sat on the ground, you decided that after you both got out of there, you would start a life together.

And you did. You both found a place to live at the future foundation, at least what was left with it, and began your healing processes. It took many, maaaaaany nights of crying into each others chests, days off of work, and time spend talking to each other about everything that happened and how you both feel until it actually stated to get better.

Every night you both would fall asleep holding each other tightly, not even daring to let go in case something happened in the middle of the night. And sometimes, you both would have nightmares. Terrible ones. Sometimes, one of you would walk up by screaming while tears gushing down your cheeks, just to be greeted by the other who sleepily held on tight, wishing that all this pain you both experienced would go away.

Those nights turned to few, rare nights. And with months, but most likely years or hard work with therapists, medication, and spending time with each other, you both eventually got to a point where you could wake up almost every morning to be excited for the day ahead of you, instead of scared and dread-filled.

And on the last day of both of your theropods visits, he once again surprised you with how much hope he can bring to you by going down on one knee and asking you to marry him.

I’m rereading mob psycho cause I need some motivation in my life and the parallels between dimple and Reigen are just like ough to go through again.

#it’s kinda insane #ok not super insane but it just hits you in the face #Reigen talking about how LOL wasn’t helping anyone just making people dependent on dimple so mob did a good job #dimple talking about how he wants to understand mob better than anyone else because then mob will depend on him #and dimple gets access to that power #it’s 1. a glimpse into if Reigen had been worse and 2. shows why the story needs to happen #Reigen is dependent on mob for business sure but ultimately he can pick himself a life apart from mob #separation arc showed that because he was the one who chose to apologize and chose to do community service and he decided himself to just #step the fuck up #if Reigen were cut off from early in the manga he’d probably be the same too. #but like. dimples thing about dependence is not wrong #mob is very much dependent on Reigen for making sense of these emotions. which to a degree makes absolute sense #outside of his powers being a thing he’s a kid. kids are figuring everything out for the first time #but it doesn’t change the fact that mob was dependent on Reigen for this kind of. emotional need? is that the word? #Reigen is someone he trusts to know things and so it’s imperative that trust isn’t really broken #because then mobs foundation will shatter #it’s also a hint of a possible future when Reigen describes group psychology stuff in regards to LOL #they’re all smiling and laughing in the cult but outside the meetings they get more and more anxious and that’s why they return #that’s why they probably search for a god other than lord dimple when they’ve been ‘freed’ #freed in the sense that the effect of cult psychology is still there but dimple is gone #in another world if Reigen failed mob would have found another mentor #also who’s to know what would’ve happened if the dependence did not occur and mob didn’t block his powers. #anyways that’s why I’m very much for the ending of mob getting his own life even tho Reigen isn’t super prominent in it anymore
