#gorsekit story
Text
Fungichomp entered the daycare, shocked to see every kitten behaving properly, some even taking naps! The nests had been cleaned, and there was none of the usual screaming.
He was about to ask what had caused this, but then he saw her.
Long, life-hard muscles stretched under a dappled fawn and cream coat, while nightmarish blue eyes with almost-red pupils held him captive.
“Bella May.” He gulped.
“What do I owe this pleasure to?”
The matriarch of the Wooden Teeth chuckled, grooming the nearest kit with a few strong licks.
“Thought I’d help out today. The little monsters need to learn manners at some point, yeah?”
He gulped. He knew every kit in the Dark Forest by heart. The kit Bella May was grooming was new to him. A tiny little tortoiseshell with oversized fangs and semi-familiar dappled legs.
“And, uh, who’s this?”
Bella May purred louder.
“Well y’ain’t gonna believe this, but my Lamb met someone! He just had his young’un, and I’m taking care of the little beastie.”
Fungichomp could feel his blood run cold. The last thing the forest needed was more of Myrtlewing’s kin. Least of all from the volatile Lamb, who, if rumors were to be believed, was even more cannibalistic than the rest of his immediate family.
Even so, it paid to be polite when dealing in the Dark Forest, so he did not in fact, wail his panic to the rest of the woods.
“What’s her name?” He leaned down, examining how the little mollie dozed on her grandmother’s forepaws.
“Gorse. Or Gorsekit if y’wanna be formal.”
“…Ok? Is she one of Web-“
The glare he got let him know, in no uncertain terms, how Bella May felt about that particular question.
“She kinda looks like Lamprey-“
Another glare had him backtracking as quickly as he could.
“Because of her legs! They’ve got dapples!”
“Hmph.” Bella-May nudged Gorsekit towards Fungichomp, and she toddled over on surprisingly steady little legs.
“Hallo.”
Her voice was tiny, barely a whisper.
“Gran-ma says that you’re… uh…” She turned to Bella-May, who merely licked one paw and shrugged.
Gorsekit turned back.
“Gran-ma says you’re a good cat. That true?”
Fungichomp gathered the little tortie into a nest, and groomed down her spiky fur the best he could.
“I like to think that I’m good.”
“That’s good t’know.” She yawned, and peeped open one almost yellow eye.
“If you weren’t good, I’d eat you.”
“Good to know?”

Fire and Ice reread!
I didnt enjoy this nearly as much as the first book, so 7/10, i give my reasonings in the My Thoughts section. The writing is less clunky in the way its written, but the writing itself is, eh, its not terrible but its not book 1 standard.
On the bright side, i'm loving Windclan and the thunderclan apprentices.
Prolouge
Poor morningflower, having to give birth road-side without her mate
Its been nearly a moon since windclan was driven out, so they were there when rusty joined thunderclan
Deadfoot my beloved
Honestly ashfoot your complaining isnt unjustified, id be mad too
Chapter 1
They need to grow in their leafbare fur, interesting! Probably never brought up again though
"After many moons as an apprentice" its been 4 moons max, and you spent one of those moons not actually training, how did you even qualify for this
Ah yes, exposition monolouge on what happened the previous book
God i love how respectful whitestorm is
"Only been warriors for a few days" you literally just finished your vigil, dude, its not even been a whole day
Honor is a big thing for the clans
I like the idea of longtail just walking around camp giving the least subtle hints for days on end
Aww swiftpaw was so anxious for his ceremony, thats adorable
Way to have double standards, longtail. Still love you tho
And theres the full moon
Ah, more exposition, on lionheart this time. Thank you, erins, we get it, we did read the last book
Interesting how easily bluestar takes ravenpaw's leaving. I mean, not the tigerclaw part, but the leaving the clan part.
Chapter 2
Whitestorm still being respectful, even to the enemy
Oh no, whiteclaw, your not gonna see the end of this book
Yeah, so he did spend a moon looking after her
Im shocked Tigerclaw wants Windclan back
Chapter 3
Slow slug
Yellowfang seems rather chipper today
Chapter 4
As of the gathering, its been two moons since windclan was driven out
They have wood ants
They know what a year is
Apparently windclan doesnt patrol its borders often
Chapter 5
Ok so this generstion of windclan cats are DEFINITELY traumatised
I can't imagine tnp journey is gonna go well for them
I admire their sturdiness though, still willing to fight despite everything
Chapter 6
Ooo smart move, Fireheart, asking to go with them instead of offering help
Gorsekit is officially a little creature
Deadfoot!! My boy!!
I love fireheart's comeback to the apprentice
Aww barley likes sharing food with his boyfriend
Chapter 7
I love deadfoot so much, little blorbo man
Damn ok riverclan chill out
"Lame warrior" can we not
But also yess tigerclaw save my boy
Chapter 8
Oh no, whiteclaw!
Yess willowpelt protect your son
I wonder how much the story would've changed if sandpaw had dropped instead of whiteclaw, or both of them
Tigerclaw i see you trying to get your cronies new apprentices
I hope fireheart and greystripe share the story with the elders, i like them
Ok apparently brackenpaw is ginger now
Awww cinderpaw babie girl
Lil moody brackenpaw there, love him
But also they are like 4 moons didnt we just learn this was bad
Chapter 9
Honestly it is so irresponsible for bluestar to make these two mentors, they are like 10 moons at best, theres only 6 moons between them and their apprentices
Someone get Greystripe in therapy
Queens tell boogeyman stories of kit-snatching owls
Again, tree scaling, this time by smallear
Aw cinderpaw, my adhd babie girl
"When you brought them home" girl that was you, you were that kit. I know this is a writing error but i like to think its a mental disconnection due to the trauma of it
God, the "that cat in the forest...was his sister!" Is such a 2009 writing style
Chapter 10
Rip tulipkit, i think your the first of that litter to die
I wonder if fern and ash ever remembered their littermate
I love the difference between cinderpaw's wild bounding and brackenpaw's careful thinking
Awww princess and fireheart bonding is so cute
Chapter 11
Aw i like seeing them mentor, its so cute
Greystripe u kitten
Silverstream!!
"Cant you drown in your own territory" your honor i love her
Haha mischeivous cinderpaw
Chapter 12
Cinderpaw is a good liar confirmed
"Where were you when i was training" asked fireheart, the liar. "I found somewhere quiet to rest" said greystripe, also a liar
I cant tell if tigerclaw really is that observant or firepaw is just the king of overthinking
Brackenpaw's such a nerd i love him
Cinderpaw sweetie your adorable but please dont sneak up on your mentor
Chapter 13
They lost 5 kits to greencough last year, we never get info about them
Still very interesting that each prey has its own stalking technique
Chapter 14
"He was breaking the code by meeting up with another cat" oh really, sound familiar buddy?
Fuck it, im with greystripe, go see your code-breaking girlfriend
Since when the fuck has speckletail had a kit, but also hi mistlekit!!
Chapter 15
Dude your a hypocrite stop yelling at your bestie's girlfriend
But i do like how leader's daughter seems to be an important title
Silverstream's got a point, their love isnt affecting anyone
Ohhh the tabby kit was mistlekit
Ok damn why is dustpaw so aggressive
I wonder how dustpaw feels, technically being the cause behind cinderpaw's injury
Chapter 16
Explicitily described as twisted, noted
Chapter 17
Tigerclaw honestly didnt mean to, huh.
So now theres two kits with whitecough
Oh willowpelt absolutely heard that
Chapter 18
Unfortunately, fireheart, i gotta agree, its frustating watching people react to tragedies and just move on
Chapter 19
You've changed your tune awfully fast, Sandpaw, are we gonna get a reason for that or do we have to guess?
Willowpelt feels like shes covering for her son, but im definitely looking too far into it
These patrols are always longtail, darkstripe, and willowpelt. I know they probably just dont have any other warriors but its suspicious
Chapter 20
Oop, greystripe got sent to his room
Goddamn dustpaw chill out
Chapter 21
Princess honey you cant just spring this on a cat
Oh shes so sweet
Aaaand heres the ooc writing, this doesnt make sense
"It'll be at least 5 moons" would you rather he bring in a 5 moon old kit whos already adjusted to kittypet life?
Ah, there goes elderkit
At least the queens have some compassion
Ah, tom's first panic attack
Chapter 22
Has it been one moon or two? Im not sure
Cinderpaw i still love you
Asha and fern recently stopped nursing, meaning their about a moon old. Only a moon's differemce between them and cloud, then
"With all that white fur" what, like Frostfur? Or Whitestorm? Shut the fuck up, darkstripe
Chapter 23
Yeah, so its been 2 moons since the gorge fight
Deadfoot!!!
Yeah ya'll better shut up, starclan's displeased
Chapter 24
I still dont think fireheart would be this against greystripe's relationship
Ok no yeah fireheart's definitely overthinking this, he was talking about the mossball, dude
Chapter 25
Again! Willowpelt and Darkstripe in the same patrol
I can see Whitestorm being really pissed off at disrespect like this
Tigerclaw really doesnt think before he acts, huh
Good brackenpaw, run boy, run!
Hello brokenstar, you mangy motherfucker
Chapter 26
Spottedleaf's death was six moons ago, though this feels incorrect
Also fireheart, dude, you barely knew her
Kick their ass, frostfur! Kick their ass!
I nearly forgot yellowfang was a warrior before a medicine cat
Pathetic ass brokenstar, wheres your gloating now huh
Eugh can we not have this burden to the clan thing. Like shes allowed to feel like that, but only if the narrative shuts that shit down
Yay whitestorm back at it again being logical
Chapter 27
Yay, sandstorm and dustpelt!
I dont like dustpelt tbh but lets see if he redeems himself
Yeah, yellowfang, you shut that shit down!
Ok damn, greystripe, calm down, i dont even know why your angry anymore
Chapter 28
I might not like incredibly stubborn characters much, but i gotta give it to cloudkit, hes like a moon old and he caught a vole
Ugh i forgot spottedleaf is his messenger
Chapter 29
He just can't get it into his head that he's a hypocrite, huh?
What part of "dont leave the camp unguarded" was missed here, you just took every single warrior with you
Im not as fond as cloudkit as i am with cinder and bracken, but he knows what he wants
Chapter 30
Tigerclaw you arrogant bastard, i still love you though
I didnt see my boy deadfoot, where was he!!
About fuckin time these two reconcile, good god, this could've been sorted chapters ago
My thoughts
Eh, 7/10, a lot of it was just frustrating to read. Im really not a fan of miscommunication tropes or whatever hypocritcal shit was going on between fire and grey. Im also getting really sick of spottedleaf, The cloudkit being brought in scene was bad and weird, and dustpaw's just an asshole.
I liked the mentoring scenes, the apprentices, and yellowfang. I quite like brokenstar and tigerstar, even if their both bastards, and my boy whitestorm is still well written. I like that the queens are good fighters, and how supportive princess is of her brother. We didnt see much of runningwind but im fond of him. They still havent explained why sandstorm warmed up to him so suddenly, but its only book 2
Overall, a bit of a sour one, i definitely prefer the first book, out of the two, and i still think fire and ice should've been the name for the 6th book

abt the lunaswap au, what are the main differences? like how the the differences between rusty and luna change the story?
ok so a few things (not fully planned out, sorry!):
luna, of course, goes Into The Wild instead of rusty. im thinking maybe she meets sandpaw instead of graypaw?
she still fights longtail, gets her collar ripped off, etc. she goes at night though, and the way the moon reflects on her pelt reminds bluestar of her mom. therefore she gets named moonpaw!
as dawn breaks, ravenpaw rushes into camp, announcing redtail as being dead, etc. same as canon! but moonpaw is immediately a little suspicious.
moonpaw has a sibling relationship with spottedleaf, as firestar does in every one of my rewrites!
moonpaw, sandpaw, graypaw, and ravenpaw are good friends! dustpaw, however, resents moon a bit, seeing her as kind of a rival or enemy.
moon, sand, and gray help raven escape! moon also reunites with her brother, rusty, who decided to become a barn cat! ravenrusty real
moon still meets yellowfang and has the same relationship with her as firestar does bc. it was incredibly impactful canonically anyways!
spottedleaf dies still, leaving moon devastated. she lost the only sister she knew! so, when the kits are stolen, shes immediately on the trail, her friends at her heels. all of this goes down like in canon!
moonpaw, sandpaw, and graypaw are promoted to warriors together! dustpaw is even more angry and isolated as a result.
moonpaw is dubbed either moonwhisker or moonmoth!
journey to find windclan goes the same, but sandstorm goes with them! moon bonds heavily with tallstar, onewhisker, morningflower, and gorsekit especially.
when they get back, bluestar allows cinderkit, brackenkit, thornkit, and brightkit to be apprentices together! cinderpaw is assigned to moon, brackenpaw to gray, and brightpaw to sand! thornpaw ends up assigned to tigerclaw, which…isnt good. dustpaw is Furious that he isnt a warrior with an apprentice.
swiftpaw is also apprenticed to longtail, as in canon!
soon enough, moon reunites with princess too. her sister eventually has her take cloudkit back to the clans, but this time, she comes too. her twolegs have adopted out all of her kits, and she refuses to let the same happen to little cloud, who is nearly apprentice aged at this point. (she meets princess later than in canon!)
thats all i have for now :>

Number of Murders: 1 (unintentionally)
Murder Method: leaving in the open for a hawk
Known Victims: Gorsekit
Victim Profile: noisy kit
Cause of Death: shock
Cautionary Tale: ??
Story:
He didn't understand.
He knew that it was cold outside, and that's why he had to stay in the nursery, especially during the night. But nothing had to be explained to him further than that; he didn't want to go outside when it was cold anyways.
So he didn't know the dangers.
He didn't know that you could die.
When Littlesplash had her litter of kits, the tiny things were so noisy!
Batkit was awed at first to see cats so small, and was amazed that he had been so small himself, but soon enough the little things showed irksome behaviour. In particular was Gorsekit, who cried for no good reason day-in and day-out.
Too, it seemed everyone in the nursery was a heavy sleeper--everyone but Batkit.
He had enough. He wanted some rest, and to get the noise away from him. So he picked the little kit up and plopped him outside of the nursery, where the den walls would muffle his cries. And maybe the cold would teach him to be quite!
Then he was gone.
Batkit woke to the alarmed wailing of Littlesplash, who cried that she couldn't find Gorsekit anywhere. The Clan searched around and, feeling guilty, Batkit did as well.
But soon it became clear that Gorsekit wasn't still in the camp. Had he run away? Had Batkit upset him that much? Now that he wasn't so irritated from a lack of sleep, he felt bad for what he had done, made worse by everyone's panic.
Still, he didn't tell them the truth, too afraid of being scolded. Instead, while everyone was distracted, he snuck out of camp in search of the little kit.
There was no scent trials. Batkit was getting lost.
A shadow loomed over him, and before he knew it, he was being carried into the air. He screeched, alarmed, which caught the attention of Littlesplash and a patrol, who had left the camp earlier to search for her son.
The queen leaped into the air, unbalancing the hawk. It dropped him, then grabbed him again by the tail while Littlesplash clawed at it. It gripped onto him tightly.
Littlesplash slipped, but managed to grab onto Batkit. She pulled him down, trying to free him at the same time that the hawk jerked upward. Then there was a tearing, and an awful pain that made him screech, then they were falling to the ground.
Batkit and Littlesplash survived the crash thanks to the cats below catching them, but something was wrong. He was breathing quickly, everything was distorted. Cats around him were panicking, and soon, it was all dark.
Additional Information:
--If not for the shock, he would have survived his injuries--though his apprenticeship would definitely have to be delayed.
--Story inspired by both A Thief in ThunderClan and Tallstar's Revenge.
In TS, Stagkit took Tallkit out of the den because he kept crying, and Sandgorse found him.
--Gorsekit was out in the open, small, and loud, so a hawk quickly found him and took him in a heartbeat. I figured that if they didn't smell the hawk in ATiT, they wouldn't smell it here, and not when it was a blink-in-the-eye swoop.
--He is adopted by Tarantulastar and Hummingbirdstar (likely seeing the Gossamer Trees as somewhere a bird could never get him because of all the mesh). He is adopted when he is three moons old. Charkit/lynx, his adopted brother, is also three moons old, though they do have an age gap of roughly two weeks. This also makes him an adoptive Smalljump grandbaby!
--Base: F2U Oriental Shorthair Cat Base by Grassdew44 on DeviantArt (his ref is more his adult form)

Laurelpaw - BlossomClan Medic Apprentice
Laurelpaw is BlossomClan's anxious, yet outgoing, medic apprentice.
Names
Kit: Laurelkit
Apprentice: Laurelpaw
Medic: Laurelbloom
Immediate Family
Mother: Poplarstream (deceased)
Father: Unknown
Brother: Gorsekit (deceased)
Education
Mentor: Tansypetal
History
Born to Poplarstream alongside her brother Gorsekit, Laurelkit had a standard life at first. She played with her denmates, though she especially enjoyed listening to the elders' stories and watching the medic work. Laurelkit never had much of an interest in being a warrior, but wasn't sure what she wanted to be… until one day, when she and Gorsekit were three moons old. The two accidentally ate crowfood, and were immediately taken to the medic den. Laurelkit made it and managed to get over it… but Gorsekit didn't make it, and sadly passed. The loss greatly impacted Laurelkit, and made her decide to become a medic. Her mother, Poplarstream, didn't live to see Laurelkit be apprenticed - Laurelkit was named Laurelpaw and was given Tansypetal as a mentor, and is currently working in BlossomClan as Tansypetal's apprentice.
Relationships
Was close with her mother, Poplarstream. Poplarstream visits her in dreams at times, and is proud of her.
Was very close with her brother, Gorsekit. They have a gap in mental age now, but they talk to each other in dreams.
Has a crush on her denmate, Magpiepaw. The two are best friends, and have been almost their whole lives.
Is close with her other denmate, Chesspaw. Laurelpaw is closer to Chesspaw's sister, but is still close with Chesspaw.
Sees her mentor, Tansypetal, as family. Tansypetal can be strict and often comes off as rude, but the two care for each other still.

Droolkit and Puddlesong sharing one braincell (more info below the cut)
So because I`m big stupid it never occurred to me that Droolpaw`s and Puddlesong`s relation seems really fucking weird from an outside-prospective (Puddle is a moon older than Drool`s father, which means that at the beginning of Lost River Puddlesong is 2 ½ years old while Drool has only reached her 10th moon). So it`s time for some lore:
Puddlesong is an older brother figure to Drool.
Droolpaw`s parents left SkyClan for unknown reasons and Thrushclaw promised Nightwing, Drool`s mom, to take care of her kits. Because of his own family-history and his playful and childish attitude, Puddlesong often hung out around the nursery to play with Droolpaw, Dawnpaw and Gorsepaw (Droolkit, Dawnkit and Gorsekit at that time) or share stories his dad told him when he was younger. Drool and Puddle were especially close, cause they shared a lot of the same character traits. Puddle also unintentionally filled the lacking mother role in Droolkit`s life with the kindness and warmth that Thrushclaw was often missing (and still is honestly). Drool and Puddle became “best friends” and inseparable way into Droolpaw`s early apprentice-hood, where Drool grew a lot closer to her brother Gorsepaw and Puddle had to deal with some inner conflict stuff. After Gorse`s death and Puddlesong being appointed as Drool`s mentor, they rekindle their relationship and pick up their good-friends/brother-sister dynamic.
 ........
[Also in case you couldn`t read the totally butchered text:]
(top right corner)
Puddlesong: Droolkit will be a good kitten now and say no more curse words, yes?
Droolkit: YES, YES PLEASE LET ME DOWN!
(mid left)
Puddlesong: Look who comes for a visit! SkyClan`s strongest warrior!

windclan — year one — leafbare
tallstar loses his last life, protecting gorsekit from a hawk. this one he doesn't survive. (acting out the story of the first hawk-killer, effectively.)
deadstar succeeds him, appointing mudclaw (his first apprentice) as his deputy.
webfoot becomes a warrior, but downpaw, barkface's apprentice, dies.
tawnypaw is made rabbitfern's apprentice. (note: she's supposed to be tornear's apprentice, but he's still training runningpaw.)

au where Fireheart and Graystripe don’t bring WindClan back for anon!
please excuse the hideous lineart and shading
- long story short, WindClan basically all died off in twolegplace (monsters, dogs, rats, sickness, starvation, and maybe BloodClan) except for four cats
- Ashfoot (cause we stan), Gorsekit (cause he didn’t deserve to die) , Onewhisker (because any au where he doesn’t become an asshole is good), and Whitepaw (because YES WHITETAIL IS GREAT AND SO UNDERAPPRECIATED SHE WAS LIKE ONE OF THE ONLY ACTUALLY DECENT WINDCLAN CATS SHE WAS AWESOME I LOVE HER!!!!)
- Graystripe and Fireheart (especially the latter) are pretty depressed abou this because it was an important mission, and their first mission as warriors as well... and they failed
- Ashfoot, Gorsekit, and Onewhisker all move to ThunderClan, but Whitepaw chooses to stay at the barn with Ravenpaw and Barley (she may or may not think Ravenpaw is kind of cute) Ashfoot also gives her the warrior name Whitewind before she leaves, to honor her orgins
- Ashfoot raises Gorsekit, who later becomes Fireheart’s apprentice because :)))))) maybe she mates with some other cat in ThunderClan..
how old are Frostfur and Goldenflower
- Onefire

I really liked how Fireheart interacted with the elders !!!!! And Gorsekit and his mommy.. I love how Fireheart was so canonically good with kids and elders and mothers. I always view that as the moment he decided he wanted kits so he could tell them stories when he got old enough to be put in the elder’s den, even tho he did become leader I think he would’ve really enjoyed being a king/male queen as an elder and helping with kittens. Sorry for going off I love dad fireheart he’s so good
YES!!! I absolutely love Fireheart who’s friendly with kits and elders and I’ve definitely tried to stay true to that in the rewrite!!  Dad Fireheart really is just so fucking good

The Better Mother (short story)
“Halfkit? Halfkit?” Gorsekit swung his gaze around the camp, searching for his brown-furred friend. He had slept in most of the day, not yet used to the sleeping schedule of his denmates. It had only been less than a quarter-moon since he was found by his foster mother, Doesong, and taken into the Clan.
In the last few days, while most of the apprentices and Eelkit poked fun at Gorsekit for not being Clanborn, Halfkit had befriended him. It was Gorsekit’s understanding that Halfkit recognized what it was like to be tormented, his leading reason for giving a former rogue-kit a shot.
Eelkit was Halfkit’s brother. Gorsekit saw him now, watching intently as the apprentices, Snowpaw and Cloudpaw, practised battle moves. Halfkit wasn’t with him.
Moving on, Gorsekit poked his head into the elders’ den. His rustling woke Thistledust, who blinked a weary eye at the black kit. The grey-chinned tom let out a massive yawn. It was an effort not to flinch at the horrid breath that erupted from behind his yellow teeth.
Thistledust was kind. Gorsekit didn’t want to hurt his feelings, so he made sure not to wrinkle his nose in disgust. Thistledust smiled. “Hello youn’ Gorsekit! Are ya here for a story?” Forgetting his etiquette, Gorsekit pressed his paws against his ears.
Another elder, Archfrost, stirred. “Thistledust, you’re yelling again,” he grumbled. “Am I?” Thistledust asked loudly. “Is Halfkit here?” Gorsekit raised his voice in case Thistledust decided to speak again. “No, why? Are ya playing hide-n-seek? I loved that game when I was yur age. Have ya checked the nursery?” “He wasn’t there when I woke up.”                                                                  “He could be there again,” Archfrost suggested. “I love having you here, Gorsekit. But I’m trying to sleep, and Thistledust doesn’t exactly understand volume after age took his ears.”
Thistledust scratched behind his ear. “I heard ‘Gorsekit’ and ‘sleep.’” He paused, his leg still raised behind his head. “Do ya need to sleep, Gorse? Go on! Doesong’s gunna be waiting for ya. I’ll tell ya a story when ya wake up, maybe the one with the hawk in the ice!”
“Okay!” Gorsekit cheered, and turned to race out of the den and toward the nursery. Even if he didn’t find Halfkit, at least he still had that story to look forward to. Thistledust had an air of enthusiasm around him, capable of making the most boring stories sound like amazing legends.
“I saw the way he played with you yesterday. He was too rough. He was trying to hurt you.” Gorsekit recognized Shadefur’s voice. He perked up, peeking into the nursery. Sure enough, there was Halfkit. He was about to call his friend over, when Halfkit spoke.
“We were practising battle moves, he’s supposed to be rough!” Halfkit sounded defiant, an odd contrast to his ducked head and averting gaze.
Gorsekit trained with Halfkit yesterday, sure of being the only one that did. After all, Stormpaw, Snowpaw’s brother, was the only one that didn’t tease them, and he had been in the medicine den all day due to a scraped pad. Gorsekit ducked away, his eyes fixed on the brown figures in the gaps of the leaves. Why were they talking about him?
“He had his claws out, he made you bleed,” Shadefur insisted, almost as if her son hadn’t spoken. That was an accident! Halfkit had yanked on Gorsekit’s tail, it was only instinct that Gorsekit unsheathed his claws. Besides, Halfkit hadn’t needed to see the medicine cat.
“He said he was sorry,” Halfkit mumbled. He seemed to be losing his confidence.
“Only after I had a strict word with him!” Shadefur shook her head. Because I didn’t know before then! Halfkit hadn’t screeched, being just as surprised as Gorsekit had been when Shadefur fretted over the tiny dots of blood on Halfkit’s legs.
Shadefur sighed, wrapping her tail around her son. “I don’t want you to be mad at him. I know he didn’t mean it. He’s a rogue, it’s in his nature to be rough. That’s why I want you to stick with your brother from now on, okay?”
“No!” Halfkit wailed. “I don’t want to! Eelkit’s mean to me, Gorsekit is nice! Why can’t I play with Gorsekit?” Gorsekit’s legs buckled from beneath him and he fell back on his haunches.
Shadefur had always been so nice to him. Why was she speaking the way she was now? And what of Halfkit? Gorsekit imagined growing up, tormented by the older cats, with no backup to share the pain with. Was that only going to get worse when he became an apprentice? His chest heaved and he sobbed.
“Gorsekit!” A warm, familiar milk-scent filled his nose, and he felt himself be wrapped around by Doesong, as much as he could be at least, with her round belly. Her fluffy fur pressed against his own, pricked ones. Gorsekit shook as she licked the tears from his face. “What’s wrong, little one?”
It was a while before Gorsekit could answer her, gasping and sobbing into her fur. Doesong waited patiently, grooming his pelt in gentle rhythms. “Shadefur says that Halfkit can’t play with me anymore.” Gorsekit’s bottom lip stuck out.
Doesong tilted her head. “Is he unwell?” “No. She says I’m too rough, because I was a rogue.” Doesong pricked her ears. “She did?” Gorsekit nodded vigorously. “What’s a rogue?” He only had a few recollections from living outside of the Clan. He was sure his biological mother had a dark pelt, but he wasn’t sure.
“It’s a cat who lives outside of the Clans, and is usually hostile. Are you hostile?” “Hostel?” “Aggressive. Are you aggressive?” “No! You’re supposed to be nice.” Doesong smiled at him, a sight that almost made Gorsekit cheer up. “Then there you go, you’re not a rogue. You’re Gorsekit, my kit. And you’re Thunderclan.”
Gorsekit snuggled deeper against her, relieved. Then a thought returned and he worried again. “So I can play with Halfkit?” “You know what?” Doesong stood up, gesturing for Gorsekit to do the same. “Why don’t we go ask Shadefur?” Gorsekit cowered beneath his mother’s belly as she trotted into the den. Shadefur was going to yell at him again, he was sure of it. Would Halfkit get angry at him too, for upsetting his mother?
“Hello, Shadefur! Would Halfkit like to come play with Gorsekit?” Halfkit jumped to his paws, his tail lifting excitingly. He took one glance at Shadefur and sat back down. “It’s almost time for Halfkit’s nap. I don’t want him riled up, or he won’t sleep right.” “Maybe I could help tire him with a story?” Doesong kept her voice polite and smooth, but from beneath her, Gorsekit could feel how tense she was.
Shadefur licked her chest-fur. “Isn’t that usually something reserved for the elders?”
Doesong flicked her tail dismissively. “Nonsense! I tell stories to Gorsekit all the time when I need him to settle down. Not one has ever been ineffective. You did say you wanted Halfkit to sleep, didn’t you?”
Gorsekit held his breath. Shadefur’s tail flicked in what was presumably annoyance, her eyes darkening as she continued to stare at Doesong. Gorsekit pressed himself against the ground in an attempt to hide himself as much as possible, in case that enraged leer flicked to him.
He glanced at Halfkit, who met his gaze.  The brown tom’s yellow eyes were troubled. At first, Halfkit looked as if he were hiding from Doesong, as Gorsekit was with Shadefur. That is, until Gorsekit realized that his paws were shifting impatiently, with his ears angled behind him to listen to his mother’s response. “One story,” Shadefur grumbled at last. Gorsekit’s heart thumped painfully in his chest as Shadefur began to leave the den. “You have until I finish my crow.”
Silence fell over them again as they waited for Shadefur to exit earshot.   “Alright.” Doesong padded over Gorsekit, toward her nest, and climbed in. Gorsekit ran over to her, practically leaping in beside her. “Halfkit?” Doesong looked up. “Are you joining us?” Halfkit took a step toward them, then paused. He frowned, glancing out of the den.
“It’s alright, sweetheart,” Doesong soothed. “Shadefur said that you can listen to one story. There’s enough room for you here.” Halfkit continued to hesitate. Gorsekit panicked. Was Halfkit going to decide to join Eelkit after all?
Halfkit broke into a smile. Gorsekit wriggled happily as his friend padded over and climbed in beside him, even as his paws shifted some of the moss. “Now, I have a really good one. When I was an apprentice, Thunderclan….”
Gorsekit rested against Doesong’s shoulder as she told a story of how Thunderclan fell into a minor famine, and had to hunt mice from the barn on Windclan territory in order to get their food. His head sank into her pelt as her soft words lulled him and he felt himself growing sleeping, comfortably snuggled in Doesong's warmth.
=======================================
--Yeah Shadefur is racist (classist?). She doesn’t want her son, who would become Gorseheart’s long-time best friend until Gorse was pushed too far, to have anything to do with someone who was born outside of the Clans. But Doesong’s like “no, fuck u”
--Good mom
--Thistle is Doe’s dad and therefore Gorse’s adoptive grandfather. Archfrost is the parent to three cats that Gorseheart would later kill.
--Not the same Doesong as the resident, that’s just a coincidence

Warriors Rewrite Pt 2: Fire and Ice
Quick notes: Snowpaw is Mosscloud's new apprentice and she is teaching him paw-speak (all clan cats know paw-speak in this au), Willowpelt trains Brackenpaw, and Whitestorm is Swiftpaw's mentor. Ashkit and Fernkit are nearly identical silver-gray spotted tabbies, though Ashkit has blue eyes and Fernkit has green.
The prologue of the story is pretty much the same. Windclan is in exile hiding in some Twoleg tunnels
We cut to the main story. Fireheart and Graystripe have just finished their vigil and head to the warrior's den to sleep. In his dreams, Fireheart sees silhouettes of cats in a darkened background, moist scents filling his nostrils. In front of them suddenly a fire flares to life, leaving all but one cat shrouded in darkness. The lone cat is thin, and lifts his long skinny tail as if greeting the warrior. The cat's shape suddenly shifts a heartbeat later, becoming smaller, stockier. A voice rises from the quiet which had only been filled by the crackling of burning wood before. Its very familiar, perhaps from a deceased clanmate? Fire alone will save the clan.
The next evening is the gathering. Fireheart, Graystripe, and Sandstorm are chosen to go, as well as Cinderpaw and some others. Cinderpaw eagerly catches up with the two new warriors as they're heading to Fourtrees, asking them about what it's like to be a warrior now. Sandstorm butts in and teases them, claiming Cinderpaw's more interested in finding out how her "wuv" Fireheart is doing than finding out about warriorhood. Both cats become flustered and Cinderpaw tells Sandstorm to buzz off. Sandstorm laughs and trots ahead to catch up to Dustpelt. Cinderpaw decides to leave the warriors alone, falling back to walk beside Snowpaw.
At the gathering, Fireheart and Graystripe are introduced to the clans as warriors. Bluestar mentions the progress of Ravenpaw's medicine cat training, and tells the clan they will have more warriors and apprentices soon. Nightstar steps up next to talk about Shadowclan news. Frostfur speaks up, asking if there's been any news on Brokenstar. She's asked this for the past 3 gatherings, and still the answer is the same. There have been no signs of him or his followers, and so Nightstar assumes the former leader has left the forest for good. Crookedstar speaks next, asking Shadowclan if they have recovered enough to stop catching fish in the river. Nightstar says they have, since the clan now has the moors to hunt on. Bluestar speaks up, arguing it's not right for Shadowclan to hunt on that land. It's Windclan's, they should return home. After some arguing, all three leaders finally agree. Though Fireheart spots some alter intent in the other leaders' eyes as Crookedstar and Nightstar exchange glances.
The next day, Graystripe and Fireheart are assigned to fetch Windclan. Ravenpaw fixes them both some traveling herbs, wishing them luck on their mission. Fireheart calls over Cinderpaw and tells her to keep a close eye on Ravenpaw while they're away. He doesn't trust Ravenpaw being left in camp with Tigerclaw, as he could still be in danger. Cinderpaw promises to stay close, and decides she'll ask Snowpaw to help, though she won't tell him about what Tigerclaw has done. Fireheart briefly wonders if he should warn Bluestar about Tigerclaw when they come home, but he pushes the thought to the back of his mind for now. With that, the two warriors set off on their mission
On the way across the moor, the two spot some Riverclan cats trying to hunt. Fireheart tells himself to alert Bluestar of this when they return home. The pair makes it to Windclan's camp and follow their scent trail from there
Soon Fireheart and Graystripe find the tunnel Windclan has moved into. But when they enter they're pinned by some warriors. Tallstar approaches, gasping at the sight of Fireheart. "Jake?" He calls him, making the Windclan warriors step away from Thunderclan's. Fireheart corrects the leader and introduces himself and Graystripe. Tallstar apologizes, inviting them further into the tunnel. Fireheart talks with the leader for a short bit, convincing him it's safe to go home. Graystripe tells him he and Fireheart are happy to lead the way, and Tallstar gratefully thanks them. Tallstar rounds up his clanmates, allowing the Thunderclan warriors to guide their way back to the moor.
While journeying, Fireheart falls back to speak with Tallstar. He tells the leader Jake had been his father, and he wonders how Tallstar knows him. Tallstar briefly regales a tale of his youth and how for a while he'd hung around with the ginger kittypet. There's tenderness in his tone as he speaks, and Fireheart wonders if Tallstar had been in love with Jake. After this discussion, Fireheart goes to help Morningflower carry Gorsekit.
The clan rests a while in a barn, and are greeted happily by a cat there named Barley. The next day when set out, Windclan's medicine cat Barkface sees an omen. Blood is staining the clouds, an unnecessary death is to come. Tallstar tries to wave this omen off, prompting his clan to keep moving
At last, Windclan is delivered back to their territory, back to their camp. Tallstar is incredibly grateful to Fireheart and Graystripe, and tells them to thank Bluestar for sending the aid. Tallstar then tells Deadfoot and Onewhisker to escort the warriors back to their territory. The patrol heads to Fourtrees, following the gorge in Riverclan territory there. While traveling they are attacked by a Riverclan patrol.
While they're fighting a Thunderclan patrol arrives to help. Sandstorm helps fend a Riverclan cat off of Fireheart, but the cat nearly sends her over the gorge. Fireheart catches her before that happens. A ways over Graystripe is fighting a cat, and accidentally throws them off the edge. The battle is called off after this. Though Riverclan is pissed that their warrior died
The Thunderclan patrol returns home and Bluestar praises the young warriors for a job well done. As reward for their heroism, she plans on making both toms mentors. Tigerclaw tries to argue that other warriors would be better choices, but Bluestar's made up her mind
At moonhigh the naming ceremony is held. Thornpaw is given to Graystripe. And Brightpaw is given to Fireheart. Tigerclaw looks on at them, clearly unhappy that his stepkits are going to be taught by such inexperienced warriors.
The next day, Fireheart takes Brightpaw on a tour of the territory. Graystripe decided not to come along which leaves Fireheart feeling a little down. Still, he acts cheerful and happily guides his apprentice. Brightpaw is well behaved and mannerly, following his every pawstep. She's also very inquisitive, asking many questions.
Along the way, the pair stumble across a kittypet. Brightpaw asks if they should chase her, but by the time they make a move the cat is startled away. Foreheart decides to keep moving but tells himself he'll return here tomorrow. The cat seemed familiar and he'd like to speak with her. At sunhigh the next day, Fireheart returns to where he saw the kittypet. He sneaks into the nearby Twoleg garder and meets the cat face to face. The kittypet happens to be his sister, Princess. He and Princess talk a while, Fireheart explaining the clans a little bit, and Princess talks about her kittypet life and her soon to be born kits. Eventually they decide to part ways but Fireheart promises to visit again.
Another day passes. Fireheart and Graystripe finally train their apprentices together. Its on this day where Graystripe is rescued by Silverstream in the frozen river. Fireheart becomes jealous of the molly as he notices the way they look at each other already
As a result of getting soaked, Graystripe catches a cold which lasts even a quarter moon later. It doesn't seem to be getting better and that's because FIreheart's noticed his friend has been sneaking out a lot. He only noticed because he's gone to visit his sister a few times early in the morning. As a result of Graystripe's illness, Fireheart has started training both Brightpaw and Thornpaw. Fireheart has also started becoming closer with Ravenpaw and Cinderpaw. Often he'll share tongues with the medicine cat apprentice, and will have Cinderpaw join him with his apprentices for hunts and battle training.
Graystripe's cold spreads to others in the clan. Fireheart now not only worries about his friend's antics, but the physical wellness of the clan. Fireheart overhears Mosscloud expressing the same worry to Longtail. She tells him she's afraid of catching a cold and losing their unborn kits because of it. Fireheart feels a swell of excitement inside for his former mentor, excited to one day meet the tabby's kits. But he prays that the illness spreading around passes the soon to be mother.
Curiosity gets the better of Fireheart eventually and he decides to find out where Graystripe's been sneaking off to. He finds out that it's with Silverstream and he becomes furious. Not only is his best friend off flirting with an enemy warrior, but as a result he's been neglecting his apprentice and indirectly spreading illness to the clan. Fireheart argues with Silverstream to have her stay away from Graystripe but she refuses, accusing Fireheart of being jealous.
Fireheart returns home to find out Bluestar's sick with greencough. Dustpelt arrives, needing to tell Bluestar about Shadowclan cats on the territory. She can't take care of it, but Cinderpaw comes over and offers to tell Tigerclaw about what's wrong with Bluestar. Fireheart advises her not to, and leaves to fetch catmint in Twolegplace.
When he returns, Cinderpaw is gone. He frantically asks Ravenpaw about her whereabouts, and the apprentice tells him that Cinderpaw's gone to the burning ash to deliver the message about Bluestar. Fireheart races out of camp to find her. He arrives at the Shadowclan border in time to find his friend laying on the Thunderpath, hit by a monster
Cinderpaw is alive and brought back to camp. Only her back leg has been injured. Ravenpaw and Yellowfang examine her. Yellowfang tells Fireheart Cinderpaw will one day be able to become a warrior, whether she can walk on her leg or not. However, it'll take much longer now. Fireheart feels sadness for his friend. She was only a moon off at worse from being named a warrior. Now she'd have to wait a couple of extra moons
Fireheart goes to check on Bluestar. He enters her den just as she's coming back from losing her second to last life. After making sure that she's alright after waking, Fireheart goes to tell the medicine cats. Yellowfang thanks him for the news. Ravenpaw asks him if he can fetch more catmint tomorrow. Before leaving the den, Fireheart spies Snowpaw curled around Cinderpaw in her nest, helping clean her injured leg. He thinks its cute, finding some ease at the sight of something so sweet
Fireheart goes to get catmint the next day, taking Brightpaw with him. While collecting the herb he visits Princess who he finds out has just had her kits. Brightpaw introduces herself to Princess and asks curiously about the queen's kits. Princess is more than happy to talk about them. Then she talks to Fireheart about the clan. Fireheart shamelessly tells her about what's been going on with illness, Graystripe, Bluestar, and Cinderpaw's accident. Talking together, the three cats figure out maybe what'd happened to Cinderpaw had been a trap for Bluestar. Fireheart doesn't know if he believes it though, confessing he's been feeling off recently. He admits he is a little depressed having no kin in the clan, when most of the clan has family or love interests. Though he loves the company of his friends, its not the same as having something more intimate as family. Princess offers Fireheart a place to stay in her den if he's so lonely, but he respectfully declines. After a little more talking, Fireheart decides it's time to go back home.
A moon goes by. Graystripe is no longer sick but a good quarter of the clan is now. Ever since Fireheart saved Sanstorm's life a while back, she's started being nice to him, or at least not as sassy. Fireheart doesn't exactly understand why, but he appreciates it. Sandstorm has also been keeping him company more often which he's glad for. Somehow being around Sandstorm helps fill the void the lack of clan kin has left in his heart. When he isn't busy, Fireheart checks on Cinderpaw. She's progressing well in healing, having just fended off a nasty infection. Ravenpaw says she may be able to try walking soon, and Snowpaw seems eager to help her whenever he can
During a patrol, comprised of just Sandstorm and Fireheart, the pair check out the Riverclan border. They see the river's frozen and Sandstorm rushes home to tell the clan. Bluestar is pleased by the news and sends a patrol out the next day to raid enemy territory. The raid, however, has to be postponed due to the weather warming. When Fireheart gets home from the patrol, Graystripe attacks him for taking his place on the battle patrol. He thinks Fireheart doesn't trust him to fight Riverclan, and he's kind of right, though Fireheart did it for his protection. When the fight's broken up, Fireheart considers telling Bluestar about Graystripe's affair. But he decides against it, choosing to remain loyal to his friend
Fireheart decides to visit his sister the next day during a hunting patrol. He wants to check on her and tell her what's happened with Graystripe. When Fireheart gets there, Princess brings out her firstborn kit to meet him. She puts the kit in front of him, then tells Fireheart she wants him to take the kit back to his clan. She wants her (yes her, the kit is female) to grow up and be a hero like her uncle. Plus, having the kit in the clan might help Fireheart feel less lonely. Fireheart at first declines to take the kit. But after a little more persuasion, Fireheart decides to take her. Princess is thrilled. Firehert thinks the clan will be too. They need more warriors, kits were always a blessing
Fireheart brings Cloudkit to camp. Scorn greets him as he enters, leaving him feeling more alone than before. The whole clan's turned against him for bringing this kittypet kit here, even Ravenpaw and Cinderpaw seem to disagree with his choice (though they aren't mad, just concerned for the clan) Luckily though, the queens owe Fireheart a favor for helping rescue their kits. Brindleface accepts Cloudkit into her nest to suckle, having plenty of milk to spare. Cloudkit has been accepted into the clan
Another half moon passes. Thornpaw continues to be trained alongside his sister by Fireheart. Bluestar finally takes notice of Graystripe's negligence and holds a meeting. Graystripe is absent from it. Thornpaw is given to Sandstorm to train. Fireheart feels its unfair that Graystripe will be the last to find out his apprentice has been reassigned, but he knows it's his friend's own fault. Fireheart finds relief in knowing he has one less responsibility on his shoulders. And now Brightpaw can have his full attention. When Graystripe comes home later in the afternoon, Sandstorm purposely passes him by with Thornpaw, proclaiming out loud that she's excited to start battle training with her new apprentice. Graystripe is shocked, running to Tigerclaw to ask about Thornpaw. Tigerclaw looks utterly pissed at Graystripe, telling him if he'd been here he'd have heard the new of the apprentice's reassignment. Darkstripe passes by and sneers that if Graystripe had been around more his apprentice wouldn't be reassigned at all. Graystripe casts his gaze onto Fireheart, glaring at him, as if he was to blame for this. Fireheart feels his heart sink
That night at the gathering Bluestar argues with Crookedstar and Nightstar. Crookedstar counters her arguments accusing her of sending a spy into his territory. Fireheart knows its Graystripe Riverclan has been scenting. Nightstar chimes in saying the scent Thunderclan has caught on their shared border is from rouges, not Shadowclan. The leaders bicker some more, almost fight, and cause Starclan to cover the moon with clouds. The gathering is dismissed
The next day, Shadowclan scent it caught past the border again, and prey bones are found along with it. Tigerclaw leads a raid into enemy territory over it, leaving camp defenseless. Yellowfang recognizes the smell on the bones as Brokenstar's. No sooner she gets the words out the camp is raided
Brokenstar and his goons attack Fireheart, the apprentices, and queens. Fireheart faces off against Brokenstar himself. Clawface tries to intervene, but Graystripe arrives in time to snatch him off of Fireheart, killing the rouge.
Brokenstar sneaks into the medicine den to attack Yellowfang while the clan chases off the last couple of rouges. Yellowfang fights back, blinding him. When the ex-leader tries to slip away, Cinderpaw holds him down. Fireheart tells the medicine cats to finish Brokenstar off, but Yellowfang prevents this from happening, confessing Brokenstar is her son. Instead, Bluestar comes along and declares the rouge Thunderclan's prisoner. She changes his name back to Brokentail-his warrior name. Yellowfang gives the credit of Brokentail's blinding and capture to Cinderpaw. Bluestar is impressed, giving Cinderpaw her warrior name as reward. She is named Cinderpath.
A few days go by of relative peace. Though Cloudkit's started to cause some trouble. Tigerclaw vaugely threatens Fireheart about his niece. After Cloudkit and his adopted siblings are brought back to camp after wandering off one day, Bluestar commands Fireheart control his kin. Fireheart promises to keep a closer eye on her
That night as Fireheart sleeps, Redtail appears in his dreams. Cloudkit hunts in the background. The tom stands tall, head raised and starry eyes gleaming with determination. He speaks to Fireheart, giving him a message from Starclan. "A battle is coming. Beware a warrior you cannot trust." The warning comes as Cloudkit makes a grizzly kill on her prey, the mouse she'd been hunting letting out a cat-like screech of agony. Fireheart quickly wakes, looking over at the form of his sleeping friend Graystripe. Then he glances over at Tigerclaw from across the den. Which of these cats was the one Redtail was warning about?
In the morning, Onewhisker bursts into camp. He begs Bluestar to help his clan, they're being attacked by Riverclan and Shadowclan. Thunderclan is sent to help fight them off. During the battle Fireheart is attacked by Leopardfur. She wants revenge against Thunderclan for that one Riverclan warrior's death. Fireheart calls to Tigerclaw for help, but he just watches the fight instead. Fireheart realizes Tigerclaw is the warrior mentioned in Redtail's warning. Now Fireheart sees the true darkness of Tigerclaw's heart. After breaking away from the Riverclan deputy, Fireheart gets caught by Silverstream. Silverstream seems to have no issue with tearing into her mate's best friend. Though Graystripe calls out in an attempt to stop her. Silverstream snaps out of her battle rage, realizes who she's fighting, and backs down. But Fireheart attacks her before he realizes who it is. But Graystripe is quicker to call out this time, stopping Fireheart before he can lay a claw on Silverstream. Darkstripe sees this, and Fireheart spots him scurrying off to find Tigerclaw
After the battle is won, Graystripe thanks Fireheart for not hurting Silverstream. Fireheart promises that no matter what choices Graystripe makes, he'll always be his friend and look out for him. For the first time in a long while the two cats get along. Fireheart is relieved, and thinks that from now on things were going to be be alright

Warriors World #1: Gorsetail and Beechfur
As requested by @the-apocryphal-one ! If you’d like to hear the stories of cats from my canon, simply request and I will get to them. Hope you enjoy!
Gorsetail is a WindClan she-cat, daughter of Ashfoot and Deadfoot. Gorsekit was born alongside her brother Crowkit and sister Downkit, and were their parent's second litter. After Downkit died due to a case of shivers and spasms, Gorsekit and Crowkit became very close and were WindClan’s signature duo. Being the kits of two WindClan deputies resulted in a lot of pressures and expectations, but Gorsepaw always knew that as long as she had Crowpaw that there was someone who understood her hardships.
Then Crowpaw left. He was WindClan’s Chosen. He had received his own pedestal to stand on that differentiated him from even their parents. It didn’t help that Crowpaw left just before they were to be made warriors. Despite Tallstar’s offer, Gorsepaw kept hope that when Crowpaw returned that things would go back to normal. So she postponed her warrior ceremony and waited. And waited. And waited...
Owlpaw and Weaselpaw began to whisper and make fun of the “oldest apprentice”, and Gorsepaw began to feel more and more alone. When the Twolegs began to destroy the forest, Gorsepaw realized life was too short, and she had to move forward or risk being an apprentice forever in StarClan. She took the name Gorsetail, all the while thinking of her brother who was still gone.
When Crowpaw did return, Gorsetail was ecstatic. As she rushed to greet him though, he walked right past her. His blue eyes were dark and empty, and she watched as he spoke with Tallstar before retiring to his den without a single word to her. It took awhile, but Gorsetail managed to piece things together at his warrior ceremony as her brother took the name Crowfeather, after RiverClan’s Chosen, Feathertail.
Gorsetail continued to try and comfort herself.
“Once this journey all blows over, things will calm down for him and then I can reach out to him again. He’s hurting and I need to respect that.”
StarClan didn’t seem to want that though. WindClan’s leader, Tallstar, was old and passed away just when they had reached their new home. On his deathbed he had requested that Onewhisker be the new leader instead of Mudclaw, and it led to in-fighting between WindClan. Gorsetail helplessly watched as her friends were divided. Despite her friend Nightcloud’s insistence, Gorsetail chose the side Crowfeather was on: Onewhisker’s. She still wanted to return to their old sibling relationship.
And then Crowfeather ran away. He ran away with the ThunderClan medicine cat, Leafpool. Gorsetail couldn’t understand. What had WindClan done wrong? What had she done wrong? Was it because she took her warrior name without him? Or was it the in-fighting within WindClan? What was driving Crowfeather to abandon everything he ever knew? As she helplessly wondered why, Gorsetail watched as her clanmates left to fight the badgers in ThunderClan. Crowfeather may have returned to WindClan, but her brother hadn’t, and she just had to accept that.
Beechfur is a RiverClan tom and former loner. Before joining RiverClan his name had been Benny. Him and his friend Ripple had been living in the Greenleaf Twolegplace for awhile now, and were surprised to see the swarm of cats that suddenly appeared one day. The two had no fighting experience, and with the only option being leave or join the clan, Ripple decided that clan life would be the smarter option. Leopardstar wasn’t too excited with the idea, but Mistyfoot sold her on the idea they needed more cats to defend their new territory. With that, Benny and Ripple took the names Beechpaw and Ripplepaw.
It was rough in RiverClan at first. The cats were friendly and all, but within the first moon Beechpaw got sick from some funky water. When he almost died thanks to it, Beechpaw nearly left if it weren’t for the insistence of Ripplepaw that they’d be safer in RiverClan. So, he stayed. He worked hard and did his best, hoping that eventually this new clan would feel like the home Ripplepaw insisted it could be. Eventually he earned the name Beechfur and Ripplepaw became Rippletail.
Tumblr media
Beechfur had been gazing at GreenLeaf Twolegplace from where he sat on the island at the Gathering. He knew he should be listening to what the other clans were saying, but today had been a rough day so he naturally tuned things out. He yearned to find something to value in clan life, but the only moment he had felt truly happy was receiving his warrior name. He had to admit that he did like it a lot more than a dopey name like Benny. Then a voice spoke.
“I don’t think Benny is a dopey name.”
He hadn’t realized he had been talking aloud. Turning around, Beechfur was surprised to see a gray and white she-cat. She was a WindClan cat based on her smell, and her long legs and short fur also hinted at the fact.
“Well I think Beechfur is a lot better,” he replied.
“Ok, fair enough,” she laughed. She padded over to sit next to him. “I’m Gorsetail. I saw you sitting over here all alone and figured it was better than the mess that’s occurring over there,” she griped, flicking her tail towards the gathering.
Beechfur’s eyes widened as he saw the arguing commencing among WindClan, ThunderClan, and RiverClan. “What’s going on now?” he asked.
“Nothing that I care to partake in,” Gorsetail sighed before giving Beechfur a small smile. “So you use to be a loner?”
While the gathering did wrap us fairly quickly after that, it was enough for Beechfur and Gorsetail to cement a friendship. He immediately found her at the next gathering and finished his story of his life with Ripple and how he nearly died his first week as a RiverClan cat. It got a good laugh out of Gorsetail.
Beechfur couldn’t quite explain it, but something just clicked with Gorsetail. She was sharp, witty, and funny, but also kind and compassionate. She was genuinely interested in his life before RiverClan: something that everyone else had told to put behind him.
Gorsetail couldn’t quite explain it, but something just clicked with Beechfur. He wasn’t the smartest, but he was honest, affectionate, and carefree. He liked to ask questions and conversation flowed naturally, unlike a lot of other toms in WindClan. He was also emotional which was different from what Gorsetail was use to. She liked it though. Beechfur wore his heart on his sleeve and it made it easier to connect with him.
They agreed to meet at Twolegplace and it was love from there. Beechfur admired Gorsetail’s spirit and love for her clan. She told him about her mother who was the deputy, about her father who had made a name for himself despite his disability, and about her brother who had been the Chosen of WindClan when the clans first came here. Beechfur thought she was amazing, but behind that bright-eyed smile he could see her self-doubts.
It took time, and he didn’t push her until she was comfortable, but eventually he listened to Gorsetail. She laid in his fluffy pelt, her thin frame wrapping itself around his chest and tail and she told him all that had happened, and why she couldn’t talk to her brother anymore. He allowed her to cry and say all she needed to say before cleaning her bristling pelt. She had been through so much mentally, and yet still smiled and gave it her all for her clanmates. She really was amazing.
As Gorsetail and Beechfur began to part ways to return to their own camps, the WindClan she-cat stopped and turned back to face Beechfur.
“Thank you for listening to me. I’ve never told any cat how I had been feeling.” She paused, glancing down at her paws before meeting his gaze again. “After so long... it felt nice.”
Beechfur felt his heart rate quicken. She was thanking him? After all she had done for him? The tom paused, realizing Gorsetail had no idea what had happened during their talk. He gulped, and with a deep breath he said it.
“Gorsetail, you’ve shown me that I can do more for RiverClan. You have put your heart out for everyone despite how you have been feeling on the inside. You’re selfless, and I love that about you.”
The gray and white she-cat tensed up. She felt her ear tips grow hot and her tail instinctively lashed with confusion. Was this what she thought it was?
Beechfur straightened himself. “You taught me that I can give more of myself to my clan, and that I need to be selfless in return for all that they’ve given me.” Oh StarClan help him, he thought as he took another breath. His own tail brushed back and forth against the ground. His green eyes were drawn into Gorsetail’s blue pools.
“But before I can be selfless, I want to be selfish one last time,” he muttered. “I love you Gorsetail. I know it’s crazy but I’ve never met another cat whose made my heart beat this fast or get my mind spinning the way it does when I’m with you.”
Gorsetail winced at his words. Not because she didn’t like what he said. Rather, they made her feel very warm. But she couldn’t. She saw how Crowfeather and Leafpool turned out, and her clanmates still treated him with mistrust. Only Nightcloud had given the tom a chance. With a pained expression, she looked up to turn down Beechfur.
But she couldn’t do it. Gorsetail couldn’t deny what she was feeling for him, and knew that no tom in WindClan was like Beechfur. His vulnerability and open-mind made him easy to talk to. Despite knowing him for a short-time, it felt like he knew more about her than any of her clanmates.
“I love you too, Beechfur”
And that’s the story of Gorsetail and Beechfur. I can’t go into the details of their kits quite yet since Power of Twelve is being written, but I will continue their story as more is revealed. I hope you guys enjoyed the first Warriors World!

Stormshine’s decision
a summary of Stormshine’s story, a haunted windclan mother.
keep in mind these details will most likely change as i develop the plot more
tw for animal death, not an image but its a part of the story
Stormshine:
pelt color: gray and light gray, dark gray paws
eyes: light gray blue
Personality: angry, easily irritable, sweet occasionally. Tired.
Stormshine song: a Baby for Pree by Neutral Milk Hotel
Story:
Stormkit was born to Mousetooth and Herbclaw during a rain storm. Mousetooth was already a bit old for having kits, and were residents in Riverclan.
Stormkit was born with the power to see dead kits and how they died. It haunted her in her daily life. (think goosefeather, he would see dead cats everywhere)
Her parents wanted her to be medicine cat, because Herbclaw was before having kits with Mousetooth and becoming a warrior.
Stormpaw refuses, and after being mistreated in her clan for rejecting the medicine cat role, she begins to leave the camp at night for fresh air.
She meets Liontail, a windclan warrior, at the gathering spot. She approaches and talks to him, a spark of a romance.
9 note: liontail is not that much older than Stormpaw, only 2 moons)
The next day after meeting Liontail, she becomes a warrior.
She continues to meet with Liontail, feeling like she is in control of something for once. She eventually gets pregnant.
Mousetooth comments on Stormshine getting fatter, and Stormshine proudly says that she is pregnant with kits. She says that she its a windclans cat. She is proud of her kits, she believes that Liontail loves her.
Mousetooth and Herbtail are enraged, and Mousetooth claws at her, saying she cannot have windclan kits in their good clan.
Stormshine leaves Riverclan, daring anyone to hurt her or her unborn kits.
She runs away to windclan, confident that Liontail will be with her. She arrives and a patrol brings her in. Beetlestar and Peltclaw question why she is there, to which she replies that she is Liontail’s mate and these are his kits. Liontail walks in, neither happy nor upset to see her. He confirms that they are mates,
She is accepted into windclan, since they want more kits. The clan gets used to her, and she befriends Goldenfoot (another queen who is pregnant around the same time as her)
Liontail often leaves camp on “patrol” or some other reasons. This irritates Stormshine, as she expected him to be a bit more happy about the kits.
She follows him one day and he gets upset that she was following him, saying she should stay in the nursery and never go out. He gets angry when she protests and claws her stomach slightly. This terrifies her, and she runs back to camp and stays in the nursery.
[SUMMER]
Moons later, she has the kits. She gives birth to Webkit and Gorsekit. Webkit is a stillborn, due to the injury that Liontail gave her. Gorsekit is her only kit that survives of the litter. She becomes protective of them, swearing that nothing will come to harm them ever again.
Goldenfoot had her kit a day before, naming him Shadekit. Stormshine has trouble producing milk for Gorsekit, so Goldenfoot feeds Gorsekit occasionally when Stormshine has trouble producing.
As Gorsekit and Shadekit grow up together, Stormshine is still in the nursery, scared about Liontail who has become meaner and harsher on her.
Gorsekit sees this, and follows Liontail one day, hoping to help their mother.
Liontail sees this and knicks Gorsekit’s ear with his claws. Gorsekit yowls as Liontail tries to drag Gorsekit from running away. Stormshine hears this and runs over, fiercly clawing Liontail and giving him a scar across his face. She is furrious and fearful for her kit. She goes back to the nursery, with a new anger in her heart.
She still sees dead kits everywhere, and how they died. She has gotten used to it, but it only makes her more fearful for Gorsekit when she sees a memory of a kit being murdered by another cat.
She decides to follow Liontail when he goes out once more, being sneaky and careful. She finds him with a kittypet, who is obviously pregnant. She sees this, and instead of attacking him, she goes back to camp. She is in shock that this whole time he was seeing another cat.
One day, Liontail uncharacteristically asks Gorsekit to come play. Goldenfoot was watching Gorsekit for Stormshine so she says yes. Liontail leads Gorsekit out of camp and is trying to take them to be a kittypet with his other mate and the unborn ktis. He believes that Gorsekit will be better off with him. Gorsekit doesnt want to and tries to leave, but Liontail picks them up by the scruff and yells that this is for the best, and that they don’t need Stormshine.
Gorsekit meows for Stormshine, but no one hears except Wrinklestep, the medicine cat. He runs back, dropping his herbs everywhere, and yowls that Gorsekit is being taken away by Liontail.
Stormshine hears this and goes into Save My Kit mode, running with her claws fully out and desperate to get to her baby.
It begins to rain, so the scent is hard to find, and she panics for a moment before hearing someone talk to her. Its a few dead kit ghosts, telling her to follow them and they will help her find her kit. They lead the way, and Stormshine finds Liontail and Gorsekit, Gorsekit screaming out when they see their mother.
Stormshine demands to know what Liontail is doing, what is he doing with her kit. Liontail is taking Gorsekit to be a kittypet with him, where its safer. Stormshine says that Liontail cant just take her kit.
Stormshine attacks Liontail, who puts up a fight but eventually lets Gorsekit go.
Stormshine goes back to the camp, and tells the now Peltstar about Liontail and how hes leaving to be a kittypet.
Liontail comes back to the camp and Peltstar questions him about what Stormshine said. He admits it and is banished for hurting a kit, cheating on Stormshine, and etc.
Stormshine’s novel ends with Gorsekit becoming a paw with Shadekit. Stormshine watches the ceremony, and watches as another memory of a deadkit appears next to her. Its not a memory, but her own kit Webkit. They sit next to Stormshine and watch the ceremony, smiling. They both watch as Gorsepaw’s name is shouted among the clan.
Stormshine smiles, and says Gorsepaw’s name. Webkit does the same, and fades away.
keep in mind this is the first draft, and not really done yet

Puddleshine, Juniperclaw, Whorlpaw, Grassheart, Ratscar, Harestar, Minnowtail and Mallownose for genetics, story and name change (I know they are a lot, choose whichever you want if they are too much!)
Hello again! They’re certainly not too much. Thanks for the ask. Let’s get started. :)
Ok, let’s start with Puddleshine. Poor boy in a spot he never ought to be in. He’s described as brown with white splotches. His mother Pinenose is listed as solid black, and his father is a big dark brown tom with tufty fur on his head… Hmm, well, the brown is fine. If we assume his dad is solid chocolate and that Pinenose carries for chocolate, then Puddleshine could be the same. Of course, the white spotting is gong to have to go… Unless we have Puddleshine sired by someone who isn’t Spikefur. However, I’ll just keep it simple. So we’ve got a solid chocolate tom… Hmm, well, a dark brown prefix for sure, and one that doesn’t mandate stripes. It’s possible Spikefur could be a tabby, and indeed it is more likely, but if his markings are so insignificant that they’re never mentioned, I doubt that Puddleshine is going to have any notable markings himself. Otter- is appropriate, and has water connections, same as Puddle-! As for a suffix, the poor cat in canon was dragged into being Medicine Cat despite not wanting to be in such a role. To me, that indicates a passionate belief in doing things to help the Clan, no matter what. That makes him a likely -heart candidate, perhaps a quieter one who, while not quite in your face, is nonetheless stalwartly devoted to his views and who doesn’t change his mind easily.
Now, I haven’t put him into my current verse… But we have seen, through another activity of mine, that other universes with different events take place. So perhaps this tom exists in another world; perhaps the one in which Maplewhisker did become Leader?
In such a verse…Otterkit is born to a ShadowClan molly named Shadenose (solid black) and her mate, Eaglefur (large chocolate mackerel tabby with very faint markings). Otterkit (solid chocolate) has three littermates: two brothers named Birchkit, a pale grey mackerel tabby, and Lavenderkit, solid pale grey, as well as a sister, Mosquitokit, a small and faintly marked light black tabby. He and his littermates grow up with dreams of Warriorhood, and it isn’t terribly long until they all become Apprentices at the proper age of six moons. Driven by a desire to help the Clan, Otterpaw strives to hone all vital Clan skills. He even studies under the Medicine Cats, Littlecloud and Firetail, because who knows when those skills might come in handy? Of course, since ShadowClan doesn’t have a a Medicine Cat crisis, there’s no need to force this tom to give up on his dreams. Nevertheless, he maintains a steady devotion to his beliefs. Despite his quieter nature, he nonetheless becomes Otterheart. Mosquitokit becomes Mosquitonose, while Birchkit and Lavenderkit become Birchfur and Lavenderfur. Alas, Birchfur decides he’d be happier elsewhere, so he leaves the Clan to live life as a loner. Surprisingly, Eaglefur goes with him. Pinenose is disappointed, but ultimately sends them off herself, hoping that they’ll be happy and that they’ll reunite with her in StarClan. Otterheart is devoted to doing his best by the Clan, no matter what the other Clans think of it.
Next in line is Juniperclaw. His mother is Dawnpelt, a cream cat, and his father is Crowfrost, who is black and white. Now, I have made versions of Dawnpelt, Tigerheart, and Flametail. They’re currently Kits born to Cherryheart and Rookface. I’ve already mentioned Flametail –> Firetail above. Dawnpelt has been made a tortoiseshell named Commakit. Now then, Commaclaw will have Kits, but not by a fellow Clanmate. Despite being of recent ThunderClan blood, she still thought it’d be a mighty fine idea to hit up Privetfoot of RiverClan (currently Privetkit, born to Ashfoot and Swanstep) for some more fresh blood. Privetfoot is happy to oblige to a no strings attached coupling for the sake of spreading some fresh blood around, and they come to a mutual agreement that all Kits will be raised with Commaclaw in ShadowClan. Commaclaw, a black and ginger tortoiseshell with long fur, has two sons and a daughter with Privetfoot, who is short-furred epistatic white covering blue ticked tabby. The daughter is solid white, like her father, though the solid white covers dilute (blue + cream) ticked tortoiseshell tabby, and is named Sheepkit. One son is a dark ginger ticked tabby with long fur. He’s named Skipperkit. The other, a bright cream ticked tabby with short fur, is named Gorsekit. Gorsekit is the remake of Juniperclaw. Because my verse has nothing to do with the whole Darktail nonsense, or whatever happens there, there’s no splinter group formed. Gorsekit, Sheepkit, and Skipperkit all prove to be fine Warriors. Sheepkit becomes a very valued Warrior named Sheepwhisker; for a Clan with the smallest amount of territory, any cat who can hunt well for them is cherished. Skipperkit surprises everyone. As a Warrior named Skippercloud, he makes the decision to go join RiverClan, feeling drawn to living so closely connected to the water (though not quite skilled enough to earn -stream, for ShadowClan does have access to water in which they can swim) and also desiring to get to know his blood father. Gorsekit, like his sister, remains in ShadowClan. He takes after his mother in skill and becomes Gorseclaw. Though he misses his brother and remains a bit salty that his brother chose the Clan and father he never knew over the Clan, mother, and siblings he did know, Gorseclaw doesn’t let his bitterness control him. He does, however, have some rather rough days during which he depends highly on support and not doing much. It could be said that losing his best friend has spurred the onset of the invisible illness which had plagued him, on and off, since his Apprentice days after that one especially rough leaf bare.
Next in line is … Whorlpaw. Who is named a pattern of spirals or circles. I guess this is the new and hip version of Spottedpaw…
Right, so, SkyClan in my verse died out. I think a visit to another dimension might help this case, too! A dimension in which SkyClan doesn’t die out, perhaps? And so there are five Clans in the forest. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze, and ShadowClan bothers SkyClan a lot more than they bother ThunderClan since now they’re neighbours, but SkyClan remains. This grey and white tom, in canon, is born to Grassheart, a pale brown tabby with glossy fur, and Stonewing, a solid white cat. Was he named for a white gemstone, or are there perhaps other white stones? I’m genuinely curious to know. Anyway! Beechheart (a fawn classic tabby) and Snowfoot (100% white spotting covering ginger spotted tabby) are two fine SkyClan Warriors, and they’re utterly in love. They end up having a litter, and prove happy as can be when their Kits are born. One daughter is a grey and cream spotted tabby tortoiseshell with about 50% white, though she’s almost entirely grey tabby and white on account of having very few flecks of cream. She’s named Ploverkit. Another daughter is a very well-mottled tortoiseshell spotted tabby, about half black spotted tabby and half ginger spotted tabby. She has white tuxedo markings, and is named Spottedkit for her striking markings. The tomkit is grey spotted tabby and white, a bicolour like Ploverkit. He’s named Dapplekit. The three grow, close as could be with each other despite their differing personalities. Ploverkit becomes a full-time Nursery aid named Plovertail; she was offered -flower, but since she was also offered -tail (which is so much more prestigious among SkyClan), she didn’t even need to think through her decision. Spottedkit takes after her father and becomes Spottedfoot. She and her sister enjoy racing each other and honing their agility and speed together. Dapplekit, the quietest of the bunch, is happy to become Dapplecloud. He’s well-rounded in skills and very patient, though also ambitious. He spends as much time around the Elders as he can get away with; he loves learning from them, but must be reminded that there are other aspects of Clan life to learn about. He actually later becomes Medicine Cat, though only makes the transition as a Senior Warrior.
Grassheart is next, but I’ve already done her looks and rename above! A fawn classic tabby molly with glossy fur and hazel eyes, Beechheart was very much a -face and she knew it. With long legs, a limber figure, healthy fur, and pronounced tabby markings, it really was no surprise that she found herself with both a mate and a litter of Kits exactly four moons after her Warrior ceremony. Though they might be questioned for the practise, the fact of the matter is that SkyClan cats tend to get mates and have Kits very quickly. Ever-opportunistic and pressed for territory and prey, like ShadowClan, they handle it not by honing adaptability and resourcefulness as ShadowClan cats do. Rather, SkyClan strives to keep the population as close to maximum as possible. Not all Kits make it. Not all Apprentices make it. The goal is to get as many new bodies and members as quickly as possible, so that some illness or another won’t wipe out too many to save the Clan. In some universes, it didn’t work. In others, it worked just well enough. Beechheart had always been an avid defender of this strategy, and had even attempted to convince various ShadowClanners to follow after SkyClan in this manner! It was no surprise she was keen to make her words count as soon as she was legally able to. Snowfoot, swift and long-limbed and confident, had already been a dear friend of hers. The transition from best friends to mates and parents had been easy and natural. That, too, was no surprise. She happily doted on their litter, and though none of her progeny were quite as excited to produce more Kits, Beechheart nonetheless proved an enthusiastic grandmother when the time did come.
Ratscar is next! I never did make a counterpart for him, originally, in part because I had already made a ShadowClan molly named Ratheart and I didn’t especially want to move around prefixes to make another suitable arrangement. But now, he’s getting a placement!
In canon, he’s a dark brown tom with a distinctive long scar across his back. He has one family member, the canon verse’s prolific breeder Snowbird. Seriously, this molly produces nine named Kits in what appear to be three litters. And for some reason, in the book in which Snowbird’s mate first appears, he’s an Apprentice while Snowbird is already in the Nursery…and Snowbird was in the Nursery in the prior book which has no mention of Scorchfur… Did this tom first sire Kits when he himself was a Kit?!
Let’s change it up in this verse.
A ShadowClan patrol came across a very curious pair of cats at one point. Neither of the two were older than Apprentices; they seemed to be, perhaps, ten moons old. Older Apprentices in age. The molly was already pregnant.
Originally assumed to be mates, the patrol discovers that they’re siblings, in fact. The tom had been evicted from his birth clowder. He had been reunited with his littermate, his sister the pregnant molly, when the clowder had fallen apart as a result of a series of deaths. A tom made his claims and mated with various mollies to secure his position among the mollies who remained in his new territory, but disliking his character, she left soon after. She stumbled across her brother by chance, and they’ve stuck together ever since.
ShadowClan took them in. The tom was solid chocolate and a bit small, so he was renamed from Rat to Weevilpaw and was swiftly apprenticed. Not so for his sister Snow.
The fact of the matter was that Snow was fairly young and pregnant, and thus she needed much care and attention. A Clan cat her age should never be getting pregnant; she hadn’t been raised in a Clan. So, while Weevilpaw trained, Snow – who had opted to not be renamed until she properly began her training – had to contend with worried Elders, -flower cats, Nursery aids, and Medicine Cats alike. Not one day went by without as many cats as possible visiting Snow and checking up on her.
They were worried for her. Snow appreciated the level of care she received, understanding that though this Clan was full of independent and rather tough-love ideas, this was not a Clan so hard-hearted that they didn’t fear for a molly who in their eyes would never have gotten pregnant so young had she been born among them.
The Kits were born two moons later. It proved to be an exhausting birth, and Snow had needed help from a mostly white molly with patches of black and ginger, devoted and experienced in all matters of motherhood, named Brightflower. Three Kits were born, all small but ultimately alive. The first to see them besides Brightflower and Snow was Weevilpaw.
Every day, Weevilpaw brought prey to his sister, and then regaled her with stories of training, of Clan history and lore he had been taught, of new friends he had made. He proved a devoted brother, as well as a devoted uncle to his nieces. He also proved devoted to all matters relating to the Nursery and to all Apprentices, and earned the trust and respect of even mighty Brightflower.
All of ShadowClan mourned heavily when Lightkit, the largest of the bunch but also the frailest, passed away. Snow was told that the Kit might become a Spirit Kit, or otherwise might join StarClan.
Snow realized that whatever this place was, with these cats, it had become a home for her. She thanked StarClan each night that she had been brought here, growing to become fervently devoted to them.
The other two, another solid white named Wisteriakit and a tortoiseshell mackerel tabby named Leechkit, made it to apprenticeship. Snowpaw, Leechpaw, and Wisteriapaw were apprenticed together. Recently named Weevilflower guided them as best as he could, while still helping as much as possible. Some ShadowClan Queens were prickly about having toms around the Nursery, though Weevilflower was well tolerated and, when forbidden access, focused his efforts instead on the Apprentices.
Snowpaw became a Warrior named Snowfur. Her troublesome birth left her weaker than she otherwise could have been, and she rarely left the camp. She found a niche for herself as a Den fixer, a storyteller, an herb sorter, even a teacher. No one judged her; any who knew how young she had been when she first joined was merely thankful that she had survived the ordeal. She, like her brother, befriended Brightflower strongly, and mourned her eventual passing for an incredibly long time.
Wisteriakit became a Warrior named Wisteriafang. Her Clan’s fight was her fight, her Clan’s hunger was her hunger, and her Clan’s needs were her needs. She was incessantly devoted, though perhaps a bit too keen to prove herself.
Leechkit became a Warrior named Leechstorm, proving as well-rounded in skill as any Warrior could dream of being despite her rather turbulent nature.
Lightkit became a Spirit Kit. She often visits her mother and sisters, though she also enjoys pestering various Leaders and Deputies with advice and stories.
Weevilflower was just as thankful as his sister and nieces that he had come across the ShadowClan patrol on that fateful day. He remains devoted in his duties and unflinching, even in the face of injury. He serves the Apprentices, the Queens, and the Kits with the devotion of any proper parent. It was hardly a surprise when he found himself with a mate, Embercloud, and soon a litter of Kits: Whimbrelkit, Sloekit, Redkit.
All in all, his life turned out about as well as it possibly could have. He doesn’t want to imagine how life might have turned out if he had instead had to cope with losing his sister and being unable to care for any Kits of hers himself, alone.
Ah, yes. Harestar, a brown and white tom. He doesn’t exist in my verse, but he can certainly exist in some other verse. I don’t think I’ll be making him Leader, though; his qualifications are questionable, given the timing of his Deputy appointment and his ‘earning’ of his first Apprentice.
Anyway! He has no canon relations, so I’ll have to make some up. Let’s see now… His mother is Dipperpelt, a rather large black molly with white tuxedo markings, green eyes, and short fur. His father is Cloverpelt, a cream mackerel tabby with hazel eyes. Harekit, a black mackerel tabby tom with white tuxedo markings, short fur, and eventual green eyes, is born alongside his sister Newtkit, a tortoiseshell with white paws, hazel eyes, and oddly for WindClan, she has long fur. Harekit and Newtkit try to get along, but sometimes it just doesn’t work out. Harekit is confident, outspoken, and rather cocky; he adores himself and is convinced that he’s special. His father, too coddling and inexperienced with parenthood, encourages the behaviour. Newtkit is ambitious, level-headed, cautious, but also rather serious and not at all playful like her brother. That, too, is passionately encouraged by Cloverpelt. A competition results out of each kit wanting to impress their parents, easily impressed Cloverpelt and difficult to impress Dipperpelt, more than the other. This competition takes them in different directions. Harepaw trained to become a Warrior, and seeks gallantry and fame. He makes a name for himself by earning his Warrior Name first, and becomes Haretail for his profound agility. Newtpaw becomes a Warrior, too, but a more calculating Warrior. Like her mother, she’s reserved and focused. She becomes Newtclaw. Haretail is known and is, overall, well-liked. He seems to think he’s won every competition. It remains to be seen if he and Newtclaw, ever-devoted to her work and not caring in the least bit that Haretail has fathered not one litter of Kits, but two (one in WindClan and another in ThunderClan, both products of one night stands), could ever reconcile. They’re happy, though, and perhaps that’s all that matters in the end.
Minnowtail of RiverClan! She doesn’t exist in my main verse, but a version of her does exist in an rp I’m doing with another friend, the owner of @fan-clan-fun! However, I think I’ll do something different with her here.
Her mother, in canon, is Dawnflower, a very pale grey molly. Canon Minnowtail has no canon father. That decided, let’s see what to do with her…
Dawnflower’s pregnancy hadn’t been a notable surprise, neither had been the fact that she had decided to mate with not one loner, but two, to produce the Kits. Dawnflower’s first litter had fared poorly; only two Kits had been born, and neither one survived to apprenticeship. This time around, Dawnflower birthed four Kits.
One was a grey classic tabby with short fur and long limbs. He was named Pebblekit, and would grow into a Warrior named Pebblefoot.
One was a very pale molly, a blue smoke with long fur and a very bulky figure. Named Fogkit, she would become a Warrior named Fogheart.
One was a large and bulky black tabby, Whimbrelkit who would become Whimbrelflower.
The last was a dark grey classic tabby molly with white paws and a white belly. She was named Minnowkit.
Minnowkit had been adventurous as soon as she had been able to move properly. She had always gained a thrill out of exploring her world through climbing, wading, swimming, running. She was quick to develop a fondness for climbing in particular, though since RiverClan had few trees she had to make do with banks and rock outcroppings. Prone to mischief and rather hard-headed, it was no wonder she came to be known for a masterful ability to manage just about any terrain with relative ease. She didn’t like something as simple as a change of terrain getting in her way. Minnowtail has her eyes on the Nursery; she dreams of not just having Kits of her own, but also of creating another generation of pranksters so that the Clan will be extra cautious and aware. Needless to say, Minnowtail lives life on her terms, though she’s always full of love for her Clanmates. The same cannot be said for those outside of RiverClan; she’s especially scornful of those beyond and denied her loner heritage vehemently.
Last but not least, Mallownose! This one is interesting. He has a mother, Greymist, and a poorly named brother, Sneezecloud. He has a mate, Petalfur. Petalfur has a mother, a father, three littermates, and two younger siblings. Happily, Mallownose and Petalfur were introduced one book apart, and both were Kits in the Nursery together! This means their age difference can’t possibly be too large, since they’re also made Warriors in the same book – though, Petalfur as a 'paw is entirely MIA. It’s still better than a lot of canon couples!
Now, I haven’t actually made a version of Mallownose, though not out of spite! I simply felt I had too many RiverClan cats as it was without him. However, he can exist in another verse! Let’s see now…
Greycloud hadn’t quite expected to have Kits. It wasn’t that she didn’t know how they were made, she just hadn’t thought that a single occurrence could be enough to produce Kits. Of course, it was.
Fortunately for the grey classic tabby, she wouldn’t be undergoing the challenges alone. Her two closest friends, Mintface (pale grey tom with white tuxedo markings) and Icefoot (100% white spotting covering cinnamon tortoiseshell spotted tabby), found themselves expecting Kits together a moon after Greycloud moved into the Nursing Den.
Greycloud birthed two Kits, both toms. One was a grey and white bicolour she named Shrikekit, and the other, a light black classic tabby named Nightingalekit.
A moon later, Icefoot gave birth to four Kits. One was mostly white with a chocolate mackerel tabby tail, Yarrowkit. One was black spotted tabby with white, a bicolour named Duckkit. One was a fawn spotted tabby with white tuxedo markings, Muntjackit. The last, the only she-kit, a mostly grey and white bicolour with just a few flecks of cream, Heronkit.
Greycloud found her patience tested quite a bit by her two Kits. Shrikekit was curious, outgoing, and demanding. To add to this, Nightingalekit was easily distracted and very prone to up and darting after something without any kind of warning. Icefoot helped as much as she could, but she had her own paws full with her four Kits – though the number fell to three when Yarrowkit succumbed to a nasty case of greencough. Greycloud, luckily, earned much help from her Clanmates.
Nightingalekit proved to be swift and very easily distracted. Focusing was difficult for him and it was easy for him to start going; he often set off after whatever new and interesting object caught his attention. As soon as she was walking, Heronkit – loud and very much keen on warning the rest of the Clan when Nightingalekit was on the loose again, for her developing sense of pride demanded that she be the important one to keep Nightingalekit safe – joined on the dashes. She kept up with him easily, seeming to have inherited her mother’s speed. Nightingalekit was apprenticed first, being just a moon older, but Heronkit was swift to follow and once again, they could not be separated.
Time passed, and they were no longer Kits. Though easily distracted to the end, Nightingalepaw nonetheless maintained strong bonds with his mother and with his kithood playmates. He became Nightingalenose, taking after his mother even though he was also offered -foot, whereas his brother became Shrikecloud. Yarrowkit chose to go up to StarClan instead of becoming a Spirit Kit, but Duckkit, Muntjackit, and Heronkit all became Warriors: Duckfur, Muntjacwhisker, Heronfur. Heronfur and Nightingalenose were especially close.
It was, perhaps, only fitting that the two closest of friends jumped each other’s bones as soon as they were legally able. Heronfur moved into the Nursing Den, and gave birth two moons after becoming a Warrior. Nightingalenose took the teasing especially well; always quick-witted, he played along and took the teasing. His heart belonged to Heronfur; why should he hesitate to show it? Though they were both inexperienced, Icefoot, Greycloud, and Mintface all offered help, advice, support, and encouragement.
Three Kits were born to them. One, a dominantly ginger tortoiseshell named Sorrelkit. She will eventually become a Warrior named Sorrelstream. Another, a light grey tomkit named Jaykit. He will become a Warrior named Jayface. The last, a striking black tabby named Owlkit. He will become a Warrior named Owlnose, but in his verse, he will eventually change to being a Medicine Cat!
Nightingalenose and Heronfur couldn’t be happier.
And that’s that! I hope you enjoyed this delving into different universes. Thanks again for sending in this ask. :)

Burning Water Chapter 5 part 3
“We  cross  the Thunderpath here,”  Tallstar announced above  the noise of a monster racing  past.
The WindClan leader squeezed under the hedge. Deadfoot, Wetfoot, and a younger warrior followed him. Morningflower leaned toward Fireheart and took hold of her kit. She had stopped panting now, and as she took the kit from Fireheart she brushed her cheek gratefully  against his. He dipped his head to the tortoiseshell queen and followed Wetfoot under the hedge. Tallstar and Deadfoot sat staring wordlessly at the wide gray path. Wetfoot stood beside them and flicked his tail toward the younger warrior.
“This  is Onewhisker,” he told Fireheart. A monster sped past, almost drowning out the introduction and whipping up stinging dust.
Through streaming eyes, Fireheart mewed a  greeting to Onewhisker and turned his attention to the Thunderpath.
“We  should try to get the Clan over in  small groups,” he meowed. “The six of us can stay with  any that need help.” He looked at the Clan leader.
“If you agree, Tallstar,” he added. The leader nodded.
“The  strongest group will go  first,” the ginger tom announced.
The  others began to appear through the  hedge. Before long the whole Clan was  clustered beside them, pressed against sharp twigs, as far back from the Thunderpath as possible.
The six outsiders positioned themselves along the edge, watching for a break in the line of monsters. The Thunderpath was much busier than  it had been when they’d crossed last night. Onewhisker led the first group forward.
“Do you want us to cross with you?” Fireheart offered, noticing the  young tom’s fear. The mottled brown tabby shook his  head.
The cats beside him peered along the Thunderpath first  one way, then the other. All was quiet, and the group dashed safely  over to the other side. Two warriors came next, accompanied by a pair of skinny elders.
“Now!”  Greenflower ordered as a monster flashed safely past. The four WindClan cats crept out onto the empty Thunderpath. The elders winced as they scampered across on paws raw from the damp  tunnel. Fireheart willed them on breathlessly as they  neared the other side. A monster was zooming toward them.
“Look out!”  Oakpaw yowled. At his terrified cry, even the two elders bounded forward, fur bristling, and hurled themselves onto the other side a heartbeat before the monster raced past.
Two larger groups crossed, leaving  just one more. Only once they were safely over would Tallstar and Deadfoot cross. Morningflower and her kit stepped up to Fireheart’s side. Behind her trembled three much older cats.
“We’ll cross with  you,” The ginger tom meowed. He  looked at Wetfoot, who nodded. “Tell us when it’s safe to go, Wetfoot.”
Fireheart leaned forward to take Morningflower’s kit, but she jerked back, her ears flat. Fireheart gazed deep  into amber eyes and found his fear for his daughters reflected there.
The ginger tom squeezed his eyes shut and tried not to think about the destruction of the original forest as Morningflower straightened up. She and her kit would live or die together.
“Now!”  At Wetfoot's yowl, Fireheart and Morningflower dashed out onto the Thunderpath. The elders crept out behind them with Wetfoot  beside them. Time seemed to stand still as they hobbled slowly forward on stiff, battle-scarred legs.
If a monster comes now, we’re all fresh-kill! Fireheart  thought. The other side was still several rabbit leaps away.
“Come  on,” urged Wetfoot, nudging them along. The  elders tried to hurry, but one stumbled, and Wetfoot  had to nose him back onto his paws. Fireheart heard the distant roar of a monster.
“Go on ahead!”  he hissed to Morningflower. “We’ll get them across.”
Morningflower stumbled forward. Her kit (was he still named Gorsekit?) squealed as he bumped against the hard ground. Fireheart and Wetfoot pressed themselves against the older cats' scrawny bodies, nudging them forward.
The noise of the approaching monster grew louder and louder. Fireheart grabbed the nearest elder by the scruff of the neck and yanked him forward, before turning to haul someone else closer to the verge.
The monster raced toward them. Fireheart closed his eyes and braced himself, crouched over the elder. There was a screech and an acrid smell that stung his throat, then a fading roar as the monster sped away.
Fireheart opened his eyes and looked around. Wetfoot crouched over an elder in  the middle of the Thunderpath, unscathed, but staring with eyes as wide as full moons.
The other two elders trembled near the verge. The monster was hurtling away from them, swerving across the Thunderpath.
Thank you StarClan!
It had missed them all. Fireheart took a  shuddering breath and relaxed his stance.
“Come on,” he coaxed the last elder, padding beside them. “Almost  there.”
Tallstar bounded across with Deadfoot and gathered his trembling Clan around him on the  verge.
Onewhisker pressed his nose to Fireheart’s shoulder.
“You would have died for us,” he  murmured. “WindClan will never  forget that.”
Tallstar’s  voice sounded behind them.
“Onewhisker is  right; we shall honor you all in our stories.”
“We must  keep going,”  Deadfoot insisted. “We  have a long journey ahead of us.”
As  the cats  prepared to  move off, Fireheart  padded over to Morningflower. She was busy licking her kit.
“Is  he all  right?” Fireheart asked.
“Oh,  yes,” answered Morningflower mid-lick.
“What  about you?” asked Fireheart.
Morningflower didn’t answer. Fireheart turned to a grey queen, who he recalled would later be the deputy of WindClan. She nodded at his unspoken question.
“Don’t worry,” she meowed reassuringly. “I’ll take  the kit next.”
