It’s Fine Press Friday!
In 1974, Lewis and Dorothy Allen, long-time proprietors of the Allen Press in California, hand-printed this version of John Dryden’s 17th-century play All for Love, a tragedy in blank verse about the affair of Mark Antony and Cleopatra. It was printed on an 1846 Columbia handpress in an edition of 140 copies using handset Menhart Unciala for the text and Hadriano for display, and printed on damp rag paper specially handmade for the Allen Press at St. Cuthberts Mill, England. The edition includes a portrait of Cleopatra hand-painted in gold and seven colors on papyrus made by craftsmen at the Cairo workshop of Dr. Hassan Ragab. Each act opens with a cut of a drawing by Victor Seward hand-colored by Dorothy Allen, and the right-hand margins of every text page are decorated with Egyptian hieroglyphs and symbols in a sequence of four colors and black.
Our copy of is yet another donation from our friend Jerry Buff.

simple negative energy capture spell jar
hello! this is a spell from my bos that i typed out today, and thought i'd share with all of you.
it's a basic energy capture jar. what it does is it takes negative energy that hits it and absorbs it into the jar, keeping a space safe. it can be considered to be a type of ward.
feel free to modify this to your needs! if you try it, let me know how it goes in the notes.
ingredients
a jar or bottle of your choosing
a small mirror to go on top of the jar (i prefer aluminum foil, but either works)
a binding sigil, either handmade or sources from someone else
obsidian for protection
basil for attracting negativity to the jar (and not you)
cinnamon for protection and defense
mugwort for a magical boost
hyssop for purifying the captured negative energy
st. john's wort to handle the negativity
dandelion for added protection
a black candle
optional: mullein, acrimony
steps
create, print, or copy down your sigil. assemble other ingredients and perform any pre-spell rituals you have.
place ingredients into the jar. you can select the order, or you can do it like this: cinnamon, basil, st. john's, dandelion, hyssop, mugwort.
as you place each ingredient into the jar, visualize your intent for it. you can also speak an affirmation such as "this jar will protect me" if you wish.
fold your sigil thrice away from you, tucking it in the jar, and following it with your crystal.
pop the cork, lid, or seal on the jar.
seal JUST the edges with the candle, and place the mirror in the center of the closing contraption.
et voila, you're done! place it wherever you need that protection.
notes
i'm autistic and selectively mute, so i usually don't speak during my spells, focusing more on intention. this is something you can modify.
i would rate this an 8/10. it's a good basic protection jar, and you don't need anything too extensive for protections unless someone is after you or something anyway.
anyway, i hope that's helpful to someone! if you have comments, suggestions, etc., do let me know. part of what i miss about old witchblr is the open dialogue that used to be spread on posts; people don't talk enough now. so feel free to come talk to me, and if you have improvements, i'm all ears!
thank you for your time.

Note
hello! I’m new to witchcraft and one of the first things I wanna do is make a protection/luck charm. I have a rope necklace with a little glass vial on it and I was wondering what some good things to put in a protection or luck charm would be?
I have some epsom salt, rose quartz, amethyst, turquoise(I think it is), and shark teeth along with some others. Also what types of sigil should I use and how would you recommend I do it? Thank you so so much for helping me out!! I wish you much fortune in your journey <3
I apologize for such a late reply! Things has been hectic and I've been working with my spirit Family intensely along with other personal projects. (Have been away from Tumblr in a bit too) --- Well, I would say go with your intuition on what does good with your energy. Not all protection-famous ingredients work with the type of energy you may or may not have! So far, your choices are pretty solid. (Especially the shark teeth!) But some good suggestions for protection/reflection from me: -Horehound herbs -Angelica Roots -St. John's Wort -Obsidian -Black Tourmaline -Shungite --- As for sigils...to be honest, I use a decal sigil of Archangel Michael for a vanity mirror if you are okay with working with angels. But 95% of the time, I create my own sigils. I use the technique where you write your intentions clearly on a parcel. I take out the vowels and any repeating letters, and use those letters left over to create and manipulate them into shapes intuitionally to create a sigil. For example: "I aim to protect my loved ones." Take out any vowels and any repeating letters --- left over: M T P R C Y L V D S. And you create these letters into shapes. Get creative! This is the method I personally use but you don't have to. Just a suggestion of course. I just like it handmade because it felt more effective and personal for what I'm going for that collides with my energy directly. Hope this helps! If you have any other questions about this still, don't hesitate! I'll try to get back at a timely manner... ---

Embracing the Midsummer Sun: Exploring the Pagan Holiday Litha
As the summer solstice approaches, pagan communities around the world eagerly anticipate the celebration of Litha, a joyous holiday that marks the height of the sun's power and the peak of the summer season. With roots deeply intertwined in ancient traditions, Litha is a time of merriment, connection to nature, and honoring the abundant energy of the sun. In this blog post, we will delve into the significance of Litha, its customs, and how you can embrace this radiant festival in your own pagan practice.
Understanding Litha
Litha, also known as Midsummer or the Summer Solstice, is celebrated annually on or around June 21st in the Northern Hemisphere (or December 21st in the Southern Hemisphere). It is a time when the sun reaches its zenith, gracing us with the longest day and the shortest night of the year. In pagan belief systems, Litha represents the height of the sun god's power and the triumph of light over darkness.
Symbolism and Themes
Sun Energy: Litha revolves around the sun's energy and the abundant life force it bestows upon the Earth. It is a time of honoring the power of the sun and embracing its warmth, vitality, and life-giving qualities.
Nature's Bounty: Litha is closely associated with the bountiful harvest and the flourishing of the natural world. It's a time to appreciate the abundance of fruits, vegetables, and flowers, and to connect with the vibrant energy of the Earth.
Balance of Opposites: The summer solstice represents the perfect balance between light and dark, as the sun reaches its peak before gradually waning. Litha reminds us of the importance of finding harmony within ourselves and in our surroundings.
Ways to Celebrate Litha
Sun Rituals: Welcome the sunrise or sunset on Litha by performing a simple ritual to honor the sun. Offerings of flowers, herbs, or handmade sun symbols can be presented, expressing gratitude for its warmth and light.
Bonfires and Fire Magic: Fire is central to Litha celebrations. Ignite a bonfire or light candles to represent the sun's fiery energy. Dance around the flames, practice fire scrying, or perform fire-related spells to harness the element's transformative power.
Nature Communion: Spend time in nature, whether in a garden, park, or the wilderness, and connect with the Earth's abundance. Meditate, picnic, or perform outdoor rituals, embracing the vibrant energy of the season.
Herb Gathering: Litha is an ideal time to gather and harvest herbs at their peak potency. Select plants such as St. John's Wort, lavender, or chamomile, associated with sun energy and healing, to use in spellwork, sachets, or herbal remedies.
Celebratory Feasts: Prepare a feast using seasonal produce, incorporating sun-shaped foods, such as sunflower seeds or citrus fruits. Share a meal with loved ones, expressing gratitude for the Earth's bounty and the nourishment it provides.
Litha, the pagan holiday of Midsummer, invites us to celebrate the sun's radiant energy and the abundance of the summer season. As we embrace the longest day of the year, we honor the sun's power, connect with nature's bounty, and seek balance within ourselves and the world around us. Whether through rituals, bonfires, nature communions, or feasts, Litha offers a vibrant and joyous opportunity to celebrate life's flourishing and the unity of the natural and spiritual realms. Embrace the warmth of the sun, bask in nature's beauty, and allow Litha to illuminate your pagan practice.

Other Information~
The "Yuu" for Scarabia's chapter.
Avis was not having it; they HATE unexpected trips, as they need a few days in advance to prepare themselves since they get overwhelmed easily when they go into new spaces. They love magic though, and they slowly got used to their new surroundings. They have a set route to get to classes to avoid getting sidetracked. Bonded with Epel, as he reminds them of a friend.
They lived in St. John's, Newfoundland with their family and is the eldest of three. Tends to annunciate their words due to people having a hard time understanding their accent, but also because they attended years of speech therapy. Understands a little French, but barely.
The mirror would have sorted them into Pomefiore, as they are tenacious in their endeavours. Doubt them? Well here's a matching hat and scarf set for the winter! Has a yarn horde; everywhere you look there's yarn, current crochet wips, and handmade items. They have made winter sets for Epel, Jade, Jack and Floyd; customized with designs that remind them of them!
Avis dislikes sudden changes in their schedule, so they hate being dragged on random adventures or tasks without being warned in advance. This caused a dislikement of Floyd at first, but Jade helped smooth everything over; Floyd time is designated silly time. When they hang out with Epel they slip into their natural accent and they both just talk away.
They like comfortable clothes, and also tend to make their own. Their most prized piece is a cardigan that their great-grandmother made them. The white streak in their hair is natural and is caused due to vitiligo. Likes wearing bright eyeshadow looks, since bright colours make them happy. Sam stocks up on the specialty yarn, hooks, and needles just for Avis; he's feeding the hoard.
Doesn't have a favourite professor, but they have gifted all but Crowley a handmade present; Crowley gets NOTHING. During a lab class, the bear that they were making got some potion spilled on it causing it to come to life. The bear is playful and reminds them of their younger cousins; they named them Koda.

Buckthorn Crook Stave (SOLD)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"This listing is for a Crook-headed Stave that I crafted from Buckthorn, a resilient tree that is especially suited to workings of purification and the purging of unwanted forces.
After harvesting, debarking, and curing the length of wood, I went about sanding and smoothing the entire piece, making sure to leave the specimen’s thorns in tact. Once I was satisfied with the texture of the wood, I then stained the entire piece using a pigment made from Yellow Ochre, before further sanding the stave to reveal a mottling of paler wood, and then finally applying another pigment made from Old Horseshoe Nails atop the last. When the color had fully set, I then polished the wood using my personallly devised Wisefool's Oil (an oil of empowerment that works splendidly as a wood conditioner,) and then sealed the piece against wear and moisture using multiple layers of my handmade Wisefool’s Glaze (a wood varnish composed from a variety of potent arboreal resins, such as Dragon’s Blood, Black Frankincense, and Storax.)
Finally, I took the stave to a crossroads beneath the light of a Full Moon and fumigated it with a mixture of St. John’s Wort, Vervain, and Tarragon. The resultant piece is a lovingly fashioned Craft implement that I believe will be a commendable tool in the hands of its future wielder.
This stave measures approximately 35” / 89cm in length."

Uncover Gozo in 4 Days: The Ultimate Travel Itinerary
Tumblr media
Transport Options to Your Accommodation
Upon arrival, you have a few options to reach your accommodation. Public buses are available and they connect Mgarr to Victoria and other towns. However, for a hassle-free experience, consider pre-booking a taxi or using a ride-sharing service. If you’re planning to explore the island extensively, renting a car might be the most convenient option.
Recommended Areas to Stay
For first-timers, staying in Victoria offers the advantage of centrality. It’s the hub of the island, making it easier to travel to various attractions. If you prefer a coastal setting, Marsalforn and Xlendi offer excellent sea views and dining options.
Afternoon: Exploring Victoria
Visit the Citadel
The Citadel in Victoria is not just a tourist attraction; it’s a symbol of Gozo’s resilience and history. The fortified city offers a journey through time, from its Phoenician roots to its role in the Knights of St. John. Don’t miss the Cathedral of the Assumption, a baroque masterpiece with an illusionistic flat dome. The adjacent museums, like the Gozo Archaeology Museum and the Natural Science Museum, offer deeper insights into the island’s past and natural history.
St. George’s Basilica
Another architectural gem is St. George’s Basilica. The marble interiors and intricate frescoes are awe-inspiring. If you’re lucky, you might catch a local choir performance, enhancing the basilica’s ethereal atmosphere.
Local Markets and Shopping
Victoria is also the commercial heart of Gozo. The daily market in Independence Square is a must-visit. From fresh produce to artisanal crafts, it’s a microcosm of Gozo’s rich culture. For souvenir shopping, head to the narrow lanes off the main square; you’ll find handmade lace, locally produced honey, and the iconic Maltese cross jewellery.
Tumblr media
Evening: Dinner in Victoria
Recommended Restaurants Serving Traditional Gozitan Cuisine
End your day with a culinary journey at one of Victoria’s authentic restaurants. Ta’ Rikardu, located within the Citadel, offers traditional Gozitan dishes like “Gbejniet” (sheep’s cheese) and “Fenkata” (rabbit stew). For a modern twist on local cuisine, consider booking a table at Maldonado Bistro, where Chef George’s creatively incorporates local ingredients into the menu.
Day 2: Coastal Wonders
Morning: Dwejra Bay
Azure Window Ruins
Begin your day at Dwejra Bay, home to the iconic Azure Window ruins. Though the arch collapsed in 2017, the site remains a popular diving and photography spot. The geological formations around the area are equally captivating.
Inland Sea and Diving Opportunities
Adjacent to the Azure Window is the Inland Sea, a lagoon connected to the open sea through a narrow tunnel. It’s a diver’s paradise, offering a unique underwater seascape teeming with marine life. Even if you’re not a diver, a boat ride through the tunnel to the open sea is a must.
Fungus Rock
Don’t miss Fungus Rock, a 60-meter high limestone islet. It was once highly guarded by the Knights of St. John due to a rare medicinal plant that grew there. Today, it’s a protected nature reserve, but you can admire it from a distance or capture its grandeur through your lens.
Afternoon: Ramla Bay
The Red Sandy Beach
Ramla Bay is renowned for its unique reddish-golden sand. It’s the largest sandy beach in Gozo and offers a perfect setting for relaxation or family fun. The shallow waters make it ideal for swimming and snorkelling.
Calypso Cave
Overlooking Ramla Bay is Calypso Cave, said to be the cave referred to in Homer’s Odyssey. Though the cave itself is often closed for safety reasons, the viewpoint offers a panoramic vista of the entire bay.
Water Sports and Relaxation
If you’re an adrenaline junkie, Ramla Bay has you covered. From jet-skiing to paddleboarding, water sports facilities are readily available. Alternatively, you can simply rent a sunbed and bask in the Mediterranean sun.
Tumblr media
Evening: Xlendi Bay
Cliffside Walks
Xlendi Bay is more than just a picturesque fishing village. The cliffs surrounding the bay offer some of the best sunset views in Gozo. The walking path starts from the bay and leads you to the top, offering panoramic views that are Instagram-worthy.
Seafood Dining Options
After working up an appetite, treat yourself to a seafood feast. The Boat House, known for its fresh fish and generous portions, is a local favourite. For a more intimate setting, try Ta’ Karolina, which offers al fresco dining right by the water.
Day 3: Historical and Cultural Exploration
Morning: Ggantija Temples
Significance and History
Your third day in Gozo should ideally start with a visit to the Ggantija Temples, one of the most important archaeological sites not just in Malta but in the world. Older than Stonehenge and the Egyptian pyramids, these megalithic structures date back to around 3600 BC. The name “Ggantija” derives from the Maltese word for “giant,” and folklore suggests that the temples were built by a giantess.
Guided Tour vs Self-Exploration
While you can explore the site on your own, a guided tour offers invaluable insights into the temple’s architecture, religious significance, and its role in ancient society. Audio guides are also available for those who prefer a self-paced experience. Don’t forget to visit the on-site museum, which houses artefacts like pottery and statuettes unearthed from the site.
Afternoon: Ta' Kola Windmill & Xaghra Square
Importance in Gozitan History
After the temples, make your way to the Ta’ Kola Windmill in Xaghra. This well-preserved windmill is a testament to Gozo’s agricultural heritage. Built in 1725, it offers a glimpse into traditional grain milling techniques and is one of the few remaining windmills in Malta with its original grinding machinery intact.
Nearby Attractions: Cafes, Shops, and Local Life
Once you’ve had your fill of history, take a leisurely stroll to Xaghra Square. This bustling area is a hub of local life, filled with cafes, shops, and the occasional street performer. Look out for local products like Gozitan lace and artisanal food items like pastizzi, a delicious pastry filled with ricotta or peas.
Evening: Folk Music and Dance
Where to Experience Traditional Gozitan Music and Dance
To truly immerse yourself in Gozitan culture, spend your evening enjoying traditional music and dance. The village of San Lawrenz often hosts folk music events, where you can experience the unique sounds of the “Ghana,” a form of Maltese folk music. If you’re visiting during the summer, check out the local festas, vibrant community festivals that often feature traditional dance performances.
Recommended Venues and Events
La Stella Philharmonic Club and Aurora Opera House are two venues where you can often find traditional performances. Keep an eye on their event calendars for any folk music concerts or traditional dance shows.
Day 4: Outdoor Adventures
Morning: Hiking in the Gozitan Countryside
Recommended Trails: Wied il-Mielaħ, Ta’ Cenc Cliffs
Gozo’s landscape is a hiker’s dream, offering a mix of terrains from rugged coastlines to serene countryside. Wied il-Mielaħ is a valley trail that leads to a natural limestone arch, offering stunning views of the sea and surrounding farmlands. Ta’ Cenc Cliffs, on the other hand, offer a dramatic landscape where the land meets the sea, and is a haven for birdwatchers.
What to Bring: Essentials for a Hiking Trip
Pack plenty of water, sunscreen, and a hat to protect against the Mediterranean sun. A good pair of hiking boots is essential, as the terrain can be rocky. Don’t forget your camera; the views are breathtaking.
Tumblr media
Afternoon: Kayaking and Snorkelling
Best Spots: Mgarr ix-Xini, Hondoq Bay
If you’re a water enthusiast, Gozo has plenty to offer. Mgarr ix-Xini is a secluded bay perfect for kayaking and snorkelling. The bay is rich in marine life and offers a serene environment for underwater exploration. Hondoq Bay, with its crystal-clear waters, is another excellent spot for snorkelling and is particularly popular among locals.
Rental and Guided Tour Options
Several operators offer kayak rentals and guided snorkelling tours. Gozo Adventures and St. Andrew’s Divers Cove are reputable options that provide all the necessary equipment and safety briefings.
Evening: Farewell Dinner
Best Places to Have a Farewell Dinner
For your last evening in Gozo, make it memorable by dining at one of the island’s top restaurants. Ta’ Frenc is an award-winning restaurant set in a 16th-century farmhouse, offering a fine dining experience with a focus on local ingredients.
Gozitan Dishes You Must Try Before You Leave
Before you say goodbye to this enchanting island, make sure to try some quintessential Gozitan dishes. Apart from the already mentioned Gbejniet and Fenkata, try “Aljotta,” a fish soup, and “Pastizz,” a flaky pastry filled with ricotta or mushy peas.
Tips and Recommendations
Best Modes of Transportation Around Gozo
Public Buses: An Eco-Friendly Choice
Gozo’s public bus system is not only cost-effective but also environmentally friendly. The buses are generally punctual and connect most major attractions and towns. If you’re staying in Victoria, the central bus terminal serves as a convenient hub for various routes. However, do note that the frequency of buses can be less on weekends and public holidays.
Car Rentals: For the Independent Explorer
Renting a car gives you the freedom to explore Gozo at your own pace. The island is relatively small, so driving from one end to the other takes less than an hour. Companies like Gozo Car Hire and Mayjo Car Rentals offer a range of vehicles to suit different needs. Remember, driving is on the left side of the road in Gozo, as in the rest of Malta.
Taxis and Ride-Sharing: Hassle-Free but Pricier
For those who prefer not to drive, taxis and ride-sharing services offer a convenient but more expensive option. Always agree on a fare before starting your journey to avoid any misunderstandings.

Spring Break in the USVI!
Spring break was finally here, and it was time for a much-needed tropical getaway! Like many of my fellow college seniors, my boyfriend and I chose to escape to the Caribbean, with St. Thomas as our ultimate destination. The excitement grew as we boarded the plane, eager for sun, sand, and sea.
Upon arriving, we settled into our Airbnb condo on Sapphire Beach. The location couldn't have been better, with two pools on the property where we could lounge and cool off after a day at the beach. Additionally, the condo complex had three restaurants offering a variety of delicious foods and drinks, as well as a charming coffee shop serving up everything from coffee and pastries to smoothies and ice cream. We felt like we had everything we could possibly need right at our fingertips.
Sapphire Beach greeted us with its stunning beauty. The soft, powdery sand stretched out as far as the eye could see, meeting the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea. The sky above was a brilliant blue, with a few fluffy clouds that drifted by, casting shadows on the beach below.
We found a perfect spot on the beach, set up our towels, and settled in for a day of relaxation. The beach was alive with activity, providing us with great people-watching opportunities. Families played in the sand, children laughing and squealing as they built sandcastles and splashed in the waves. Couples walked hand in hand along the water's edge, occasionally stopping to share a tender moment or take a selfie against the backdrop of the sea. People lounged on beach chairs, sipping colorful drinks adorned with umbrellas, their laughter and chatter mingling with the sound of the waves.
As we soaked up the sun, we couldn't help but notice the diverse mix of people around us. There were locals, easily recognizable by their warm smiles and laid-back demeanor, as well as tourists from all over the world, their accents and languages adding to the vibrant tapestry of culture that surrounded us. Even the staff at the beach bar and coffee shop came from far corners of the globe like Hawaii and Australia, each bringing their own unique perspective and experiences to this tropical paradise.
For dinner, we decided to try one of the restaurants on the condo property, called Sudi's. It was a quaint establishment located right off the pool, offering a menu of delicious sandwiches, tacos, and pizza. However, the highlight was the famous Virgin Islands drink, the Bushwacker. The owner, who also served as our server, explained to us with the history of the drink. She explained that it consisted of vodka, kahlua, dark crème de cacao, cream of coconut, a splash of triple sec, and milk, all blended with ice and topped with a grating of fresh nutmeg.
The next day, we embarked on a ferry journey to St. John, eager to explore another tropical paradise. The ferry ride was a scenic delight, offering panoramic views of the sparkling sea and the lush greenery of the islands. As we approached St. John, we could see its rugged coastline.
Our exploration led us to a charming shop filled with handmade crafts, water toys, snorkel gear, and souvenirs. The shop owner warmly greeted us and began sharing insights about St. John and the differences between this island and St. Thomas. He spoke passionately about the island's rich history and its unique blend of cultures, painting a vivid picture of life on the island.
As we listened, we realized that the true beauty of St. Thomas and St. John lay not only in their stunning natural landscapes but also in the people who called these islands home. They were the true treasures of the Caribbean, each one adding their own thread to the intricate tapestry of culture that made these islands so special. Despite being U.S. territories, the islands had a culture all their own, shaped by centuries of history and the resilient spirit of the people who called them home.

Silver-Plated Icon 999 | (5.12" x 7.1") 13 x 18 cm
Title: The Holy Family | Orthodox Icon | Handmade | Silver-Plated Icon 999 | (5.12" x 7.1") 13 x 18 cm
Highlights: handmade, consecrated
Materials: wood, 999 silver, gift box
And a collection of 12 rare postcards - RUSSIAN ICON
RUSSIAN ICONS - A COLLECTION OF 12 RARE POSTCARDS
The Archangel Gabriel (Angle with the Golden Hair) The Miracle of St George The Battle of the Novgorodians and the Suzdalians. The Miraculous Sign of the Icon of the Virgin The Trinity by Andrey Rublev St John the Theologian in Silence Sts Boris and Gleb The Entry into Jerusalem The Mother of God of Vladimir Icon Not-Made-by-Hand of Our Lord The Baptism of Christ St Nicholas with Selected Saints (on the borders) Kazan Icon of the Mother of God
The titles of these icons are written in five languages (Russian, English, German, French, and Japanese), which only proves the international value of the Russian art of icon painting.
This set of postcards includes some impressive examples of Russian Orthodox icon painting. Some of these icons can only be found in museums and reflect the history of the development of icon painting in the country throughout the centuries. Every period is represented here: the early stage (the 12th century) when the artists were taking lessons from the famed Byzantine masters, the era of flourishing (the 14th and 15th centuries) when independent schools of icon painting in Russia were established, and the late stage (the 16th century) dedicated to discovering theological meanings and finding the unique artistic side.
The multifaceted diversity of Russian icon painting schools is shown in the works. Thus, the Novgorod icons are notable for their brightness, and positive vibes in the colour palette, and at the same time, they convey infinite spiritual power. It’s visible in such works as The Baptism of Christ and Icon Not-Made-by-Hand of Our Lord. As if opposing this brightness, there are the Pskov icons, which stand out because of their dark colours. Another approach to icon painting is shown by the Moscow School – the visible inner harmony and serenity as in Andrey Rublev’s famous work The Trinity. And although it’s a widely-known motif for many believers, the painting and the talent of the artist turned it into one of the most prominent works of Russian art.
Another change in Russian icon painting was influenced by the appearance of The Mother of God of Vladimir. This image was not made in Russia – its birthplace is Constantinople. Brought to Kyiv at the beginning of the 12th century, it stayed in the Holy Dormition Cathedral until 1480. It was later transferred to Moscow but regardless of its resting place, has always had immersive power over believers. And even more: the striking beauty of the Mother of God and her genuine mournful features ranks this image as one of the most perfect portraits in the world of art
Description:
THE REPLICA OF JERUSALEM ICON CONSECRATED IN A CHURCH
1 HANDMADE ICON + GIFT CASE
ICON SIZE: 13 x 18 cm (5.12 x 7.1 inches)
The Holy Family is one of the most common souvenirs that pilgrims and tourists bring from Jerusalem. Even without visiting the Holy Land, you can make a generous gift for your loved ones and order the Holy Family icon online in our store. This handmade icon can turn into a family heirloom and serve as home decor. This is the exact reproduction of Jerusalem icons, which is made with the blessing of the clergy.
This is a rare depiction that cannot be found in many churches: typically, Joseph is not portrayed with the Virgin Mary and Baby Christ in sacred images. However, it serves as a great reminder of the human origins of Our Saviour and the importance of family ties. The Holy Family is a frequent gift for a newly wedded couple, wedding anniversaries, or for the birth of the first child. It will become a great and meaningful home decor for any couple.
The image on the icon makes its meaning and purpose quite clear for all believers. The Holy Family is a symbol of strong bonds that bind a man and a woman, mutual understanding between the spouses, and their responsibility for each other and their children. The portrayal of the Holy Family is so vivid that it looks like a photo from a family album – warm and radiating love and happiness. This is the example of an ideal family, which everyone should strive for.
Believers turn to this image if there are problems in the family: frequent fights and misunderstandings between husband and wife, conflicts with children, infidelities, or loss of warmth and affection. Single people ask the sacred image to help them meet a worthy spouse. Anyone can turn to the Holy Family with requests for protecting his family and giving health to all relatives.
[MATERIALS AND PRODUCTION]
Only quality materials were used for crafting this item: high-density wood and 999 fine silver. Thanks to the solid wooden stand, it can be placed on the shelf or the table.

This past weekend was the Second Saturday ArtWalk in St. Pete, Florida with numerous galleries staying open into the evening. Above are images from the recently opened Drew Marc Gallery, part of The Factory St. Pete’s complex in the Warehouse District. In addition to the artwork, the gallery also had live painting by Michelle Gordon.
At Morean Center for Clay is Lauren Hope: Time (pictured below), a solo exhibition that includes the artist’s ceramic work and photography.
From the gallery-
...Time is an investigation of alternative photographic process, using clay as a catalyst for record keeping. Using ceramic vessels as pin hole cameras, Lauren captures moments in time and transfers them onto ceramic surfaces. This exhibition will be a collection of photographic prints, vessels, cyanotypes, and handmade pinhole cameras.
Her statement about her work-
My work is heavily influenced by the complexity of hues, forms, and patterns found in the natural world. This studio practice has become deeply cathartic, signifying the ephemeral and fleeting notions of time.
Ceramic vessels within this collection are wheel-thrown, altered, and sculpted. Every striation carved serves as a visual representation and a gentle reminder of the delicate passing moment. This method of subtractive carving has become transformative, developing into deep states of meditation and reflection.
Experimental photography is used as an explorative process, allowing for the convergence of internal and external experiences. By casting memories and photographic recollections onto stoneware, I attempt to immortalize my profound experiences and revelations.
This exhibition will be on view until 12/30.
