Fools Gold / Pyrite. This one is different from the other Pyrite. This one is handground using some fools gold I got in Cambridge. This one doesn't go gold/yellow as the other one does. Its much more greyish although it still has the golden sparkles. I suspect there is Galena in the middle as it looks very similar to the Galena and Fools gold mix I did earlier. Today I will talk about one of my own colour creations - “Flüsch-grün”.

If you have been watching my shop for a while, you might have noticed how much I love to add a dash of PB71 here and there. I think it’s the most loved pigment in my product range, and while I will go further on PB71 on a separate post, it’s worth mentioning that this colour wouldn’t have made it if it wasn’t for the said pigment.

It was originally named “Sprout Green”, made of PY150 and PB71. I tweaked the ratio a bit, and immediately thought of the eyes of Flüsch - one of the two furry friends I share my life with. PY150 is a rather strong colour on its own, and the dull, soft, muted cerulean blue balanced it all nicely, adding some nice granulating effect to it.

Upon opening up my shop, I decided to include a small mixed media painting of Flüsch in every order that contains Flüsch-grün paint(s). These(top seven images) are the first set of works that were sent out to new homes along with the paints. I really enjoyed the whole process of making them, and it’s also a good exercise to keep myself motivated in drawing and trying new techniques!

My first #studioghibli film was My Neighbor Totoro. This was before I knew what anime was, that this film represented a whole different culture and its folklore. It was love at first watch and I rented this movie from blockbuster as much as my parents allowed (I'm aging myself, I know 🙈). Color spotlight:⠀ Courtney's Grey⠀ Now this is truly a crowd favorite. A mix of PBr7 and PB29, this one was made with two friend's named Courtney in mind, since they both have the favorite color of blue. I never would have imagined that it would be as wildly popular as it is, though I do absolutely love it myself! Color spotlight:⠀ Lime⠀ Made with PY53 & PB28 this is a fairly opaque color that is BRIGHT! Although it is a cooler lime than you normally would see, I love this mix. It has some granulation due to the PB28, but that just makes this color more magical.
