summary: yamazaki yuzuru, also known as park jonggun, is trying his damned best to learn korean for csat. despite his best efforts, his favourite bartender doesn’t seem too impressed. in other words: park jonggun hwaiting~

gun’s first thought upon seeing you is - damn, you’re gorgeous.

he’s been to this izakaya several times before, but he has never seen you behind the counter. maybe it’s your first day. maybe you’ve been here for a while, working the wednesday night shift, and he has just never been here on a wednesday. it’s a school night, after all. he has his csat to study for, even though he thinks he’ll fail. his korean isn’t quite up to par. he’s spent too long in juvie, and even longer in japan.

gun isn’t the only japanese person here. well, technically gun is korean, but he’s been yamazaki yuzuru, shiroi oni for so long it feels like he’s japanese instead. when he’d fought that straw-haired asshole, kim joongoo, the dumbhead had downright refused to believe gun was korean by birth. no way, he’d said with a mocking grin, hand over his jaw where gun had almost knocked his entire bottom row of teeth out, your accent’s fucking atrocious.

gun would’ve gone for round two of a fight if goo hadn’t smashed a staff into his face and almost broken his skull as well as his nose.

anyway, back to the izakaya. where gun speaks japanese, because it’s so much easier than korean to him.

gun’s been here often enough to start to recognize the regulars - hattori-san with his raspy kansai-ben, who always orders cheap beer to go with his equally cheap cigarettes and starts flirting with the whoever’s pouring his beer whenever he gets too drunk; miyamura-san, who had been sent on a year-long business trip from tokyo to seoul and drinks sake to cover up how dearly she misses her family; and there’s park jong gun himself, who always orders the same gyoza dish because it’s damn tasty, alright.

today, it’s a different person behind the counter. it’s you, who speaks kindly to miyamura-san when she weeps about homesickness. it’s you, who doesn’t hesitate to call a drunk hattori-san a cab and manhandle him out of the shop yourself when the taxi arrives. you’re around gun’s age, japanese by birth, but both your japanese and your korean, which you showcase when a korean couple wander in in search of ramen, are both better than gun’s. you don’t seem too wary about gun, either. you’re always bringing him his signature gyoza with a sweet smile, offering him helpful tips on learning korean when he brings his notebook in to study for tests. gun-chan, you tease him sometimes, study at home, not here. he doesn’t answer, too busy wondering why you don’t fear him in the slightest.

because you should.

gun is the most dangerous person in this small izakaya. you’re strong enough to manhandle hattori-san, who is drunk and balding and somewhere in his late fifties, but your wrists are thin, your legs long and slim. you’ve got that doe-eyed innocence to you too, like a newborn fawn. you’d be able to please him with your body if you didn’t break under his rough hands first.

or maybe that could be the foreplay. you’d look good, struggling not to let gun break you, fighting back with all you’ve got.

gun has no alcohol with him, but his cheeks feel a little too flushed for his own comfort. he finishes his gyoza in silence, pays you a hefty tip and refuses to take the change, and then leaves.

he’ll keep you a secret, for now. choi dongsoo doesn’t have to know about you. and neither does gun's asshole of a housemate, kim joongoo.

he comes to the izakaya once every two weeks almost religiously just to see your pretty face. every time, you greet him with a smile. at some point, it becomes a running gag between the two of you. tadaima, he’ll say as he steps in, all evidence of his, ah, after-school job carefully hidden away. okaeri, you’ll say in response, your usual gyoza? and gun will say yes, because this place, this banter, is starting to feel like home to him. nothing has ever felt like home to him. it’s hard to find peace when gun lives the life of a hired gangster.

of course, of course, peace never lasts.

because one day, after school, kim ‘fucking dumbhead who can't read social cues’ joongoo insists on following gun to the izakaya. “i’m hungry,” he complains, “it’s your cooking day today, and since you won’t cook, i’ll just get dinner with you.”

he really doesn’t want to let joongoo meet you, but joongoo's a tenacious bastard who refuses to let go even when gun is trying to choke him out in the middle of the street, so gun ends up with no choice but to bring him to meet you.

he's still squabbling with joongoo by the time he steps into the izakaya. "okaeri, gun-cha-" your eyes widen. "ara ara, gun-chan, you brought a friend?"

"yes," joongoo says at the same moment gun says "we are not friends."

you giggle, eyes bright. "okay, gun-chan and gun-chan's not friend."

"gun-chan," joongoo mouths in awe. his knowledge of japanese is limited to anime and "omae wa mou shindeiru".

gun gives him a noogie because he's too polite to get blood all over your meticulously cleaned counter. "usual gyoza for me," gun mutters to you in japanese because he knows joongoo won't understand, "and the least popular item on the menu for him."

you laugh. "hai, hai!"

you end up placing two dishes of the same gyoza in front of gun and joongoo. gun blinks. "you're kidding, right?"

"gun-chan, you're literally the only one who orders this."

joongoo digs into his gyoza with a hearty "itadakimasu!" and you laugh when he gets sauce on his stupid glasses. gun feels overwhelming jealousy gnawing at his insides. you're his. you shouldn't be laughing at joongoo unless you're mocking him.

"just between you and me," you whisper to gun over the counter, "your friend reminds me of some of the tourists i used to get at the famiresu i used to work at in japan. they'd try to speak in japanese, but their accent wouldn't be right. it's sweet to see them try."

it's all too easy to imagine you in a cute apron and matching hat, cheerfully shouting "irraishaimase!" at new customers. it's too easy, like it's a memory instead of a fantasy. "which one did you work at? denny's?" back when he was fourteen and living the overpowered tween gangster life, he’d almost gotten attached to a denny’s worker who had actually tried to help him with his schoolwork and learning korean in particular. they were sweet but authoritative. they knew how to order him around and get him to do things, and that might have been the beginning of gun’s masochistic streak, actually. gun hadn’t seen them since he got arrested and sent to juvie in korea, but now that he thinks of it, they might have looked a little like you.

maybe he’s just projecting.

“yeah! i did work at denny's, actually.” it’s only thanks to gun’s years of experience as a trained thug that he doesn’t let his surprise show. did you read his mind? “why ask?”

“i was just curious. i grew up in japan.”

“yeah, i guessed. your japanese is excellent, but your korean… you make the same mistakes as one of my old regulars, but he was fourteen and you’re what, nineteen? you mix up the i, geu, jeo words too, just less often than he did.” you hum, a distant smile on your face. “it was easy for me to remember. it’s almost the same as koko, soko, asoko, isn’t it?”

gun nods. yeah, that was how the waiter from back then taught him to memorize i, geu and jeo too. gun just messes it up nowadays when he tries to think in korean instead of japanese. you flit off to help another patron and strike up a conversation with them instead. gun had almost forgotten that he couldn’t monopolise your attention that easily.

joongoo nudges him with the most demonic smile of all time settled on his face. there’s a veggie stuck between his teeth, and oh, what wouldn’t gun do to punch it out of the way? punch joongoo so hard he chokes on his own shattered teeth? “someone’s got a crush~” he sings loudly. nobody hears him over the din of the izakaya. “i’m gonna tell the b-”

gun tips his chin up and forcefully shuts joongoo’s mouth. joongoo whimpers as he bites his tongue, but gun holds his mouth shut. “don’t you fucking dare.”

it’s not even a crush. it’s just a passing fancy. you just remind him of someone he used to know.

“we’re leaving,” gun hisses. he’s going to beat joongoo’s ass into next week. “yo, jagiya-”

joongoo chokes on a laugh, but gun can’t think of why. over here… isn’t it jagiya?

“it’s jeogiyo,” you say with a shit-eating grin. it’s cute on you, unlike on joongoo. “but if you want to call me jagiya i won’t mind either, gun-chan.”

gun remembers making that mistake, years ago. he’d mixed them up again - jeogiyo is ‘come here’, jagiya is ‘sweetheart’. joongoo laughs harder at gun’s slowly reddening cheeks. oh, he wants you so bad. he’d hurt you so good, make you cry as he calls you jagiya and carve his mark into your body the only way he knows how.

“or should i call you yucchan? yamazaki yuzuru-chan?” you lean in close, something dangerous on your face. good for you, gun is a dangerous man. “the white oni?”

gun freezes. “how-” no matter how he thinks of it, he can’t think of how you would know about shiroi oni. could it be the other patrons warning you against him? could someone have told you?

“you’ve always called me y/n-san, and i appreciate it. but do you know why i came to korea to study?”

gun shakes his head. you’ve always been y/n-san to him.

“my name is magami y/n. you killed my father. you hurt my little brother ken-chan.” gun remembers now - he remembers young magami kenta who idolised him, until he killed the patriarch of the magami clan. maybe you were sent away to the city to study, and that’s why you weren’t there. “did you really think i’d let you get away?”

gun stops you from threatening him the only way he can think of - he yanks you closer by the collar of your shirt and when you stumble, he’s there, waiting to swallow all of your protests with his lips. oh, he’ll break you.

he’ll break you until all you know is how to scream his name and beg him for mercy.

oh, you’d look so gorgeous.

hi guys here is an extremely informal tiny sneaky peeky at my next multi-part fic!!! here to show that i haven't forgotten ab you guys, i promise i've been working on stuff!!! if you don't know, i've been working away at this fic since invisible string! the vibe is very best friends (to enemies?) to lovers... reader falls first ellie falls harder, jealousy, mutual pining, bestie!jesse hehe <3 this is unedited bc i'm still writing it!!!

you had almost died before you had made it to jackson.

you didn't really know why you weren't dead. you weren't really sure why the man with the gun took pity on you that day. maybe it really was your weakness that had saved you.

weakness, or plain stupidity. it didn't matter anyway.

when you were surrounded by a group of people on horses, you were fighting for sensibility. the lower halves of their faces had been covered with scarves acting as masks, and you didn't know if they were the bandits that assumably slaughtered your previous group or members of a rumored safe haven.

you had been scared and exhausted, fighting for your life even though you weren't even sure if that was what you wanted anymore. you yelled and spat out threats to spite the tears in your eyes, anything to defend yourself before your lungs would surely give out. driven purely by nerves, you continued waving your weapon around even when the man leading the group ordered you to drop it.

it was practically a death sentence. it should've been a death sentence, but it wasn't.

their promises of safety fell on deaf ears until you actually saw the place. even then, it was months until you got a decent night of sleep.

the man who was the first to point his gun at you, tommy, was also the first to lower it. you don't know what made him save you that day, but when you arrived at jackson he almost seemed amused.

in passing, he spoke to another man that you later learned to be joel.

"get ready for a case of deja fucking vu," tommy had muttered.

you didn't know what it meant, and you didn't know how to decipher the look that plastered itself onto joel's face.

you were the last surviving member of your group before jackson, or at least that's what you had to assume. nobody really believed that you had made it that far on your own, especially considering the state that you were in. you knew that they were weary about another group coming and looking for you, despite your honest confessions.

before jackson, before you were alone, you had been taken in by a group. the QZ was threatening to fall any day now, and they had heard whispers. talk of safe communities throughout the states. with the information they had compiled across time, one of the rumors was bound to be true. you weren't admittedly close with any of the adults but on the night of chaos, they convinced you to join them.

you wanted to believe that they cared for you, but the truth lingered in the back of your mind. you knew that they knew that you wouldn't make it out. you wanted to believe that they were truly good, but when you shared your story with tommy, maria, and joel, you noticed the glances. the looks they shared. you didn't understand it until you were older, and even then it took awhile to come to terms with the truth.

your group wasn't saving you. they weren't looking out for you. they were using you. you were bait.

on the day that you had lost them, they told you to stay put in the woods. they told you that you would be safe there, because they weren't sure about what was up ahead. if the coast was clear, they would come back for you.

it wasn't true.

they had thought that they were heading into safety, and leaving you behind was a distraction to the bandits that had been hot on your trail. they had been wrong. they walked straight into trouble, and you went undetected.

and they had thought that you didn't stand a chance.

well, they were wrong. now all of them were dead and you were still here.

if only they stayed put, maybe they would've been saved too.

I’m gonna try and make my point again but on anon bc worried of harassment if Certain People don’t agree.

the christofascist themes in warriors I’ve only been able to notice because they align pretty well with patterns I’ve noticed in my own life. clan life (and starclan) HAS to be the only way for cats. it has to be accepted willingly, or forced upon the “lesser” groups (see, atheist or simply non christian) or they will be destroyed in some way. chased off their own land, killed, assimilated, etc. the clan cats are colonists just like eropean christians. see, squirrelflight’s hope. why does no one challenge the clan’s ideas that they are entitled to land, any land, that would benefit them? even if other cats live there? because they aren’t christia- I mean clan cats so they’re lesser and their lives are expendable. see again, squirrel flight’s hope.

I know the conflict of that book that everyone remembers (other than the abuse apologists and kids who don’t understand) is bramblestar abusing squirrelflight for 464 pages (and then getting her sister killed but he’s a man so it’s okay), but the glaring problem is the author’s bias on people different from them. there was absolutely no reason the only cat loudly protesting the slaughter of expecting mothers and children was the protagonist. and she was treated as though she were in the wrong, and punished over and over again in this book alone. remember they hate squirrelstar and her ideals. heinous, genuinely. and there wasn’t even a good resolution to that! moonlight died! the sisters had to leave! and then helped them in the next arc! what the fuck! anyway

one will note how christians are known to refer to non christians as “wicked” “evil” “dark” “lost” or other terms to make it pretty clear they think less of you for not sharing their faith. the clans the same. even through uncontrollable circumstances such as birth you are shamed in this society and downright humiliated on a good day, attempted murder on a bad one (stormpaw, featherpaw and stonefur)

and the victim mentality the clans have along with the paranoia that they are constantly at risk of being wiped out despite there being like 30 cats in their fucking colonies at all times. there is always a war on christianity. there is always a fight the clans have to win to survive. they always have to kill someone else, lately someone minding their business, to survive. they have to impose themselves on other cultures because they are the True way of life and they never have to be confronted with the idea that they are just as flawed if not more than their counterparts. and if they are, conveniently their opposition is killed off or written to submit later on proving them right. I will not include bloodclan and the kin in this because they were legitimate threats, even if in a way they were also caused by clan culture.

the most glaringly obvious example of why I believe warriors and christofascism overlap outside of the need to force themselves on everyone, is the inability to question anything without severe punishment. you cannot question god without threat of eternal damnation or being ostracized from peers and even attacked. you cannot question starclan without threat of eternal damnation and the same. even when there is no logical solution but to admit that they’re wrong and cruel and just as petty and dangerous as the dark forest, in the end the lesson is that you should listen to starclan, never doubt, never question, or you will be punished. and there is no hope for redemption even if you offer yourself to be used.

that is the issue I have. and it’s a very obvious one that I’m sure I’m not the only one who says something about it, but depending on where you live, I live in southern america, it’s not hard to see parallels. do I think it will ever escalate to the severity of reality? no. probably not ever. but the fact that I can see it is what worries me.

again not very well written, and I even got anxious towards the end so my apologies if it’s hard to follow or too sloppy! just wanted to share my thoughts even if people don’t agree.

This is really interesting, thanks for sharing!! I thought it was pretty illuminating, as I'm someone who's never heard of the term Christofascism. I don't know enough about Christian discourses or the subject at hand to commentate too much unfortunately, but I really appreciate your taking the time to write this out for me. If you're interested in expanding this further, I'd actually recommend looking into some texts on decolonization, as a lot of what you wrote hit on points similar to that (in my opinion of course).

I'm not really the best person to asks for texts like that so I'm gonna link you to communistkenobi's reading recommendations on the subject.

edit: missed it so thank you to cicadaclan for pointing this out but i'd argue against the separation of bloodclan and the kin in this. bloodclan are literally written to be godless outsiders who hate families. the kin are the continuation of the evil outsider intent on destroying the clans. the kin, whether or not they were a threat, still fall into the evil outsider trope.

childe likes having tickle fights with all of them because he treats them all like little brothers which annoys scara bc he's like 20 times older than him lol but childe's favorite lee amongst the three of them is scara because there's just something nostalgic about it to childe oh also! i like to think that when the team gets together for the first time, scara is absolutely tempted to get back at childe for all the times childe has tickled him. since childe has forgotten about scara, it would mean that he doesn't remember scara's spots anymore but scara would finally have the upper ground because he still remembers all of childe's tickle spots. this was the one and only time he has initiated a tickle fight with childe and he still lost badly because he's not good at being a ler lol i think out of the three of them gaming would be the only one to initiate a tickle fight with childe! he absolutely gets wrecked every time but he's still in his shonen arc and will beat childe one day but probably not though oh and gaming and chongyun would have tickle fights! i view them as gaming trying to coach chongyun because chongyun kinda sucks at this lol but imagine gaming letting chongyun practice tickle techniques on him i cri

I watched the the last two episodes of Hazbin Hotel

HOLY FUCKING SHIT OMFG I JUST WANTED TO EXPRESS MY THOUGHTS ON IT AND RAMBLE SO HERE

!!!VERY DETAILED SPOILERS!!!

Episode 7:

almost immediately I was happy to see Charlie get angry and frustrated even if it was just for that little rant about everything that’s happened so far and then choosing to make a deal with Alastor was insane I’m already theorizing all the ways he could ask for a favor that would still be pretty bad even if it doesn’t involve hurting anyone.

when we get to meet Rosie for the first time I kinda expected her to me more malicious and kinda blood thirsty but she ended up actually being a very sweet person who was very genuine and I loved that about her, she gave Charlie some very good advice about Vaggie that I really appreciate bc I though the same thing, also wasn’t expecting her to have the voice she did but I loved it anyway. (FUCKING SUSAN) the way both Alastor and Rosie just behaved like besties in this was way too funny Alastor cursing was way funnier tho and the fact that all it took was just to say hey there’s gonna be free food and it’s angels flesh was so stupidly simple.

I loved that they gave Carmilla another song she was absolutely beautiful and badass like bro HER HAIR DOWN GOT ME BARKING NOT GONNA LIE, she’s a very strong woman who is smart, resilient, and loves her daughters, also I’m biased bc she’s Latina and I’m latina so obviously she’s the best. The fact that Vaggie being an Angel was so obvious is hilarious to me I always thought the X on her eye was some type of aesthetic eyepatch not like an actual thing angels get when they lose and eye??? Still not sure about that but whatever, I loved the realization that yeah Vaggie fights with no real concern about her own life because she’s never had to fear for her own safety before, she wasn’t even aware she could die so the fact that Carmilla is like girl you fight like you aren’t scared of getting hurt which is stupid on your part is both funny and like wow yeah she’s so right that is a dumb way to go about it. Since usually demons can’t cause any type of real harm angels have never had to worry about death so they go about killing every extermination day completely recklessly so it keeps them open to weak points, they didn’t even think about their own weapons they left behind being used against them so yeah, the song was an absolute bop (like girl find the motivation to fight in the fact that you have someone to lose).

I love that the others stayed obviously they would but it’s nice to see everyone trying to help in any way they can despite the circumstances, they all enjoy each other’s company and it was so nice to see how far everyone has come.

Episode 8:

I’m kinda confused as into how Vox managed to get cameras? technology?? Into the hotel but whatever his reactions are funny. Almost immediately I was trying to figure out who was gonna die this final episode and when I saw dear ol Pentious in his little uniform I kinda knew and I was pre sobbing getting ready for the emotional damage I was gonna get (which side note I absolutely love his hair?? When it’s down I mean I’m a sucker for long black hair??? So yeah) anyway the whole thing with him and Cherri is so cute he’s such a dork. I like the scene with nifty and Alastor cause honestly I fully believe he doesn’t own her soul she’s just so outta pocket that he finds her amusing and her presence entertaining and he genuinely enjoys it so she gets to stick around, DID YALL SEE THE FUCK ME EYES HUSK GAVE ANGEL AT THE BAR DONT TELL ME YOU DIDNT AND THE WAY ANGEL LOOKED AT HIM WHEN HE WAKLED OFF YOOOOOOOO I CANTTTTT, and then Pentious being so awkward with Cherri is so cute my man was STRUGGLING tryna confess his love for her, he did say some really sweet things tho that she was kinda getting into it before he ran off plus Angel being like hey he got two dicks and she’s like huh 🤔 (like GIRL GET SOME OF THAT OR ELSE I WILL ).

They really did us dirty with having Charlie so obviously in front of angels door crying and shit before the episodes came out that shit had me sweating. So Adam, I’m not gonna like he kinda….👀 but only because he’s voiced by THE Alex Brightman like c’mon be so serious he did that character so good I can’t even, also I was kinda wondering why all the exorcists are all women like is that just because Adam prefers it or what? But anyway the fact that Vox got the other two V’s together so they can all watch this shit go down is so funny bc they couldn’t care less. It was so fun seeing what Alastor had in store bc I find him so fascinating as a character he has all these interesting powers that he doesn’t really get to use too often since he never has a reason to kinda go all out and have fun killing people so it was fun seeing that. Bro when Adam punched the dome that was wild I was like wow that was kinda cool I’m not gonna lie and the fight with Alastor was insane the animation was amazing it was so fun seeing Al just dodging his attacks with such grace like go off king tell him he’s a bitch 😌💅, when his microphone got sliced in half his reaction was absolutely priceless holy shit I rewatched that shit like 5 times bc I couldn’t get over him cursing like it was so quick but it did the job so well, hearing his actual voice outside of his normal Radio-ish way of sounding was really something it made it feel more alive I guess. Vox’s reactions was so funny he really is a bitter ex that just wants the worst for him I love it (NO! FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOUUUUU, PUSSY!!) I love him.

Apparently her and Adam made a deal which my theory is that way before it was made official in order for for the exterminator to happen permanently which I’m guessing was Adam’s idea him and Lilith agreed that if she sang just enough to get his idea accepted by Sarah she would get to stay and chill in heaven maybe? It could be deeper than that but it’s crazy that all this time when her daughter needed her most she was just enjoying life upstairs, maybe she really is the evil mastermind behind it all.

(Something I just thought about, did Lucifer cheat on Lilith with Eve??? Cause like when he said he stole botu of Adam’s wives he was with Lilith so does that explain why they aren’t together or maybe had a falling out a long time ago, or would explain his depression and sense of guilt despite it being so long ago kind of)

Ok. But like?

I'm cool with remus not being traditionally beautiful. But Sirius still thinking he's the best thing ever. I think that he has certain attractive features, but he's def not some rockstar and most ppl don't take a second glance. But you need that to see the shade of his eyes, his crooked smile. Sirius loves him and finds beauty because of not despite of his scars. Bc they show strength and tell a story.

Mid level I think someone put it. Sure, I get why that can be a thing.

But. I think he can have sex appeal in other ways. His smile, his voice, a look in his eyes, muscles in certain places that defies him being otherwise skinny.

I'm fine with sirius being super intelligent and quick. Its canon after all. I love how him and James have this quality. But I don't think that means that remus liking to read or studying a lot takes that away from Sirius. I think that he likes academic validation, and he needs to read and study to stay caught up. He wants to prove he's worthy to be at school and has to work for it. I do think that he's smart though, and adds to group dynamics.

I don't think that he's just a downer and boring persay, otherwise why would they want to be with him. I think that he'll do the research maybe on the great idea that Sirius and James had and they will later carry it out flawlessly. Or sees some kind of gap in the plan and can think quick to help patch it up.

I do think he probably gets so hyperfixated on things which some people can't stand. but sirius loves to hear him talk about it. Just like remus is obsessed with everything sirius has to say. He's totally a nerd but I don't think he's just pathetic or a loser. Or maybe I just don't see those words the same as the recent posts have been using for him.

I think he's extraordinarily kind. he worships sirius, who in turn thinks remus is also the best. He's not rude to him even though I really do think they fight. But can't stay mad at each other long.

I do think that he can be angry, but I also think that a lot of times it's just at himself or crappy life circumstances. He's normally careful to keep any anger controlled bc he's worried about perception.

he's shy and and awkward and deals with a lot. He loves to help the younger students, and he uses above hard earned study methods to help them bc everything doesn't just come naturally or can share how he overcame it.

If everyone has a crush it's not bc he's completely hot or any of that. He's a soft boy with big comfy sweaters that gives good hugs. He's a good listener, a good teacher, shares anything he has, especially the chocolate that seems to be never ending in his bag. Bc he believes that it'll make you feel better. He has a kind word or compliment and can make you feel better.

I think he can be a momma's boy. And wants hope or poppy to hug him, and give him a space to cry and be weak. Otherwise I think that he likes to try to hide his pain bc he doesn't want to be a burden.

And ... That all said. I think that CR remus is different than a lot of this and hes absolutely perfect and I love him and I'd do insane things for this fictional man. It's one of my favorite ways to read about him. But something that carries over there from everything else I said is how enamored he is with Sirius Black. And how much he loves his inner circle. How he has this sacrificial love.

But anyways, I could go on about CR but that's totally not the point. Ive just seen a few things and wanted to say some things about how I see him a lot. And maybe the posts that have me feeling kind of sad talking about him are actually saying some of the same things I'm just negatively associating some words or ideas bc I know personally I can also interpret things completely the wrong way or not read into the subtext well enough

And the people who like to come all up in my inbox about hating Sirius-- this isnt that. To be clear. I don't want remus to take over any traits of Sirius or whatever else you accuse me of. This has to do mostly with remus except me saying that sirius sees something in remus that a lot of people don't, that they're in love and adore each other.

I do in fact love Sirius Black and think he's wonderful. And you're missing the point if you think I hate that man. But I want to talk about remus rn and if you want something talking about Sirius, so many other wonderful people on here do that, so let's find that instead and let me hyperfixate and talk about remus.

Other random things I'll probably add to that really are prb just me.

-he is a horrible dancer. But he'll do it for sirius

-he'd do almost anything for Sirius.

-he's a music snob. But he'll read anything

-he is super annoying in class bc he shakes his leg or taps his quill. Sirius thinks it's adorable though.

-he needs a cane around the full. But he doesn't like to use it.

-the man loves weed. Him and hope smoke together.

-he has no idea how to take care of his hair

-to me he's associated with chronic illness, pain or disability in every universe. Or some mix or variation. (Ofc authors have free choice it's their story and I have no right for demands or anything) but I write him that way, hc him that way, get stupidly happy when I read it bc I feel so seen, search AO3 tags regularly for these portrayals.

-remus has no sense of style. But sirius doesn't care, he's so soft and cozy with his sweaters. The only thing about that is that I'm personally convinced hope bought remus a leather jacket, he shows up wearing it on the train, Sirius somehow gets his hands on it... Remus' eyes pop out of his head, maybe drools a bit- and it becomes Sirius' trademark

anyway this story is seriously so good, i think you might be my favorite writer on tumblr. you genuinely know how to keep a story engaging and still have it make sense instead of just filling it with unnecessary smut to make up for it, even your heavily spicy ones always give something at least in the background. also i like how you play with characters, i think a lot of people write character too ooc but you manage to take the essence of the characters and change them how you need them without losing their true self. like how you write dark az and in this story he's kind of acting like an asshole but you still see bits and pieces of azriel in all of them

Honestly I agree Eris was a little OOC in that swan part—I’m deciding he was stressed from Father Vanserra breathing down his neck and he needed the comedic relief :)

But hey! She ended up actually doing something about it, maybe he will help her grow a little backbone—or rather feel it’s okay to hit back sometimes!

And yeah, poor Bas 😕 He was READY (I can’t promise any more of him though, I’m sorry 😭)

Things kind of escalated way too quickly when they were flying together; I’m putting that down as the whole IC being incredibly wary of Eris because of the Mor incident, and also the Autumn Court isn’t exactly known for being particularly fair or welcoming, so it’s kind of believable Eris would inherit those traits from his father :/

Also I feel like a surprisingly big part of angst (for me at least) is the edge of humiliation? How reader allows herself to be degraded and doesn’t really fight back or protest against it because she doesn’t see it as being wrong, more that it’s expected/deserved? I think most people respond stronger if it’s their dignity that’s being targeted, which helps with the angst because of how low one has to go to deliver a blow like that :)

I’m so excited to write more about her powers and how they manifest!!! Also about who’s going to try to help her, but who’s going to actually succeed in helping her and then how she manages with the new development!!

I suppose with Silver Flames (I know some people have mixed feelings about how the characters were written) they’d just been through a second war (civil war??) where they came so close to loosing so much, and despite how most of the IC has already been through one, I can’t imagine you can become desensitised to something as bloody as open, gratuitous murder to such a massive scale.

Anyway, that was a long-winded way of saying I can see how so many mistakes were made in the aftermath of the devastation of war. It’s not an excuse or a justification but I really don’t think it would be realistic for the characters to come out unscarred from a second war.

I’m so happy people find those fics to be suitably engaging, and enough to continuously choose to interact with them.

The fact alone that you’ve taken your time to articulate how you feel is so important to recognise for me.

The Carver Lore Post

(^This isn’t part of it but I do think his favorite color is purple)

Also this is all my opinion (mixed with a little projection) and obviously not canon

ANYWAYS, I will be separating everything into different categories‼️‼️‼️

Home life

I can see Carver growing up in a middle class, small town kinda situation. HUGE mama’s boy, meh with his dad. I think his mom coddled him a lot growing up and he wasn’t entirely able to take care of himself.

I think people have mentioned this before, but I do see Carver as the youngest child. He has an older sister, maybe about 4 or 5 years older. They don’t fight all that much, if anything they’re frenemies. She cares a lot about him and it was really hard to move when she got into a college.

His family is very tight knit but aren’t super into family gatherings so when Carvers invited to other people’s family gatherings he gets excited.

School life

He wasn’t the best at school but certainly wasn’t the worst. He did pretty well but wasn’t exactly sure what to do after high school.

Not incredibly popular but still pretty well known, mostly because he was on the swimming and basketball team (though he quit basketball in sophomore year because he got bored) Generally liked, had enough charisma to not seem like a complete asshole.

Social life

He never had a lot of people he considered friends despite being a bit of an extrovert. Carver never really felt like he knew how to actually talk to someone. He could do small talk and act like he understood what to do but at the end of the day it was exhausting for him.

Maria & Ladybug

I am a strong believer in Maria, Ladybug, and Carver all living in the same town growing up. I think Maria was a mutual friend of Carver and Ladybug but slowly they all just became one friend group.

His friendship with Maria has always been pretty strong. They started off as just lunch buddies but quickly started warming up to each other. They have gotten into a few fights but most of them were resolved quickly.

Carvers friendship with Ladybug was rocky to begin with. Every few months they had a new big argument and it all ended in a sort of rivalry. They still talk, but both have a “I’m not apologizing until he apologizes!” mentality when they’re both in the wrong.

First kill

I think he was the last one to actually kill someone. Carver was friends with someone in the business who happened to have someone wanting to take them out. He happened to be there while the two were fighting and managed to kill the assassin relatively quickly. He felt surprisingly calm about it and the agency Carvers friend worked with started keeping tabs on him.

The trauma and mental health stuff

I’m not gonna get into the specifics bc I’ve talked about it before on my Medusa tattoo post and elsewhere but even outside of that I think Carver went through some sort of major traumatic event. He didn’t tell anyone for a long while, and when he did it was only his close family and friends.

He doesn’t view it as big or important really, Carver doesn’t even see it as trauma. It takes him a while to really understand the impact it had on him.

Trauma aside, he’s always been a very anxious person. Panic attacks are rather physical for him and he’s almost always on high alert. He isn’t very good at regulating anger and it got him into a lot of trouble growing up, but he’s always managed to narrowly escape punishment.

I think his family would be pretty unsure about therapy or mental health in general. They aren’t super traditional but they still hold up some of those values. It would take a while for them to agree to let him go (mostly bc his doctor recommended it)

Speaking of his family, Carver did grow up in a Catholic home but he’s not very religious himself. He doesn’t have a really negative experience with the religion outside of a lot of Catholic guilt he needs to work through.

Regarding mental health, I’m of the belief that Carver’s autistic and has PTSD. I think his parents were recommended an autism diagnosis but decided against it and never told him. Surprisingly (or unsurprisingly ig) Ladybug pointing out his symptoms was what got Carver to realize he’s autistic and has PTSD.

Okay! So this one is just kind of a random fantasy I thought I would share with you. It’s been my “trying to drift off to sleep so I’m going to write an imaginary scenario in my mind” type thing. Anyway! Anyway, Khonshu doesn’t want this goddess or god to come to power, so Khonshu basically orders the Moonboys(player’s choice) to kidnap her to keep her out of other people’s(or Harrow’s) hands and to perform a ritual where whichever Moonboy has to take the readers virginity in order to bind her power to Khonshu instead of whichever entity she was supposed to serve. Thus binding the Moonboys and reader for life, pretty much. They refuse at first and then meet her and instantly develop an obsession. I’ve been picturing it more CNC or heavy dubcon(oops, my bad).

And for extra spice, sometimes Layla shows up for the party. Either just the help the Moonboys or as an avatar herself.

OUGH thats a fun question...

i would say minerva makes several selfish decisions. not betraying jowan during the origin quest is selfish in its way; at this point she’s settled in the idea that there are some acceptable losses to be made for the circle to thrive, but she reacts when her friend is threatened. as for her quest decisions hmm... siding with caridin over branka is a little selfish in an odd way even though it’s the “good” choice. she’s only just really gotten into blood magic and she’s terrified of the comparison between herself and branka prioritising ends over means, so she does it more to assuage her own self-doubt than out of any real morality. that’s why it’s actually the only decision in the game where she refuses to play the diplomat and persuade her companions who question her, and she snaps at them instead

sparing loghain is somewhat selfish. she does it because she’s desperately fearful of what her own reputation will be one day if she becomes the elven blood mage who killed the hero of river dane. that’s only partly for herself though... it’s also for the sake of people like her, the hope that if she’s remembered well she might save others from the judgement that’s always loomed over her. asking loghain to do the dark ritual was almost entirely selfish though. she knew he would have died to slay the archdemon without question, knew it would be a justified end for him, a tying up of loose ends... but she couldn’t let him sacrifice himself and steal the saviour’s title she’d fought so hard for. and she didn’t want to die either! so she chose to convince him to do the ritual, which is quite something to frankly manipulate a man (who she had never forgiven for his actions but who she also did honestly consider a friend, as she only realised as she was persuading him) into doing, without ever revealing her true reasons to him. not to mention releasing an unknown magic into the world despite all her circle training and maleficar’s guilt

keir is less obviously selfish because he’s the shield, the protector, fundamentally defined by what he can do for others. but leaving bethany behind for the deep roads expedition, not because she couldn’t handle it but because he couldn’t risk losing another sibling to the darkspawn, was selfish. or he thinks so afterwards, anyway. it’s hard to say in the end whether he did things to protect people or because he was afraid. as a rule there’s a fundamental selfishness to the way he is with his own people; anyone else’s loss is justifiable for them. he and anders sometimes fight bc ultimately keir can’t match justice’s absolute dedication, he would sacrifice the cause of mages to see his and only his people safe, he’s only a man and that’s who he is. it’s kind of a moot point bc half his loved ones are mages who will never be safe until they’re free, but it is also arguably what he’s doing in the act 2-3 break and the act 3 on the loose quest when he’s effectively shackled by meredith and hunting blood mages for her, bc she has bethany, and bc she can’t not know abt anders and merrill

i’ve always been charmed by da2’s description of reaver mechanics as “selfish sacrifice”, so that’s another one for keir, too

siding with the templars was a little selfish for helena. she did go to redcliffe at fiona’s invitation—she made that much effort, to placate her brother’s ghost—but ultimately it went too far for her pride to save those who had sold themselves to magisters, when the templars were also at hand. and she wanted so badly to believe for her own sake that there was something salvageable in the order. so she went to therinfal redoubt and told herself they would see what could be done for the mages once the breach was sealed

He despises everything about yuji and I see him praising others and he calls yuji boring (he's not but I'll let you live today sukuna). I don't like theorizing too too much for fear of raising expectations, but I'm really curious about sukuna's life during the heian period.

Ah yes, no worries about chapter leaks lol. My weekly routine involves checking leaks first thing Wednesday and Friday mornings and nerding out with the moots about it 😂.

Like I am for real worried about JJK ending because what am I going to obsess over when it ends?!!!!!

But anyways, I did hold off on posting my reply to you until today (Sunday) for those who follow this hellhole of a blog of mine and don't actually read leaks.

it's going to be a tough ride for sure ~

Yesssss I was hoping we'd get to see Megumi inside the inner domain wrecking Sukuna or at least inflicting some sort of damage 🥲🤧. SOMETHING! ANYTHING!

Regardless, Megumi fighting Sukuna from within whenever his friends are in danger is so... this boy is so beautiful and he doesn't even get it.

To your point about this being a though ride, Frenchie is my voice of reason when it comes to my fatalist fear of Megumi's death. @justafrenchlondoner recently said some good stuff about how Gege is probably trying to get us to feel like all hope is lost before something good happens.

After all, it isn't uncommon to see events continue to escalate in a sort of "it's going to get much much worse before it gets better" kind of way.

For some reason (denial), I have a feeling megumi's going to overcome this. I won't comment more on that because i feel like i'll spiral

Riiiiight so I'm still rather unwilling to let myself hope Megumi is surviving for the mere fact that I don't want to be hurt. That's just my nature tho.

If I break my heart now then I won't be heartbroken later on if it turns out that Megumi is not surviving.

Sound logic as you can see lol. I have a tendency to come up with worst case scenarios.

Despite that, I think the idea of Megumi surviving this ordeal to carry on and change the Jujutsu scheme of things makes a lot of sense. Not to mention having to carry the burden of responsibility for the memory of the people he cared about but lost along the way, quite possibly because of his own miscalculations.

Ugh... depressing.

It's so "Watanabe-ending" in its execution but far, far more depressing, brutal and cruel.

On another note, sukuna and co's eventual defeat will be worthwhile for how much suffering they've caused and will cause. Sukuna's choice to leave yuji alive will definitely come back to bite him, but it's interesting that his joy comes from seeing yuji suffer and look pathetic than giving him death.

Yeeeeeeessss. I really like the idea that Sukuna's continued underestimating of Yuji will come back to bite him in the ass. I personally will not be surprised if Yuji takes Sukuna back into himself and then kills himself in a self-sacrificial fashion.

Very Pisces of him. Very dying on the cross for our sins symbolism.

I was also thinking about the idea that Sukuna feeds off of other's suffering too. This whole idea around him being a hedonist with no regards for others takes on a whole new dimension when you consider he might go out of his way to cause suffering because it brings him joy.

It feels like an exploration of a demonic being which made me realize that I think that I've taken for granted that JJK is a horror story and that Gege may be using horror tropes.

This only become clear to me as of late when Sukuna possessed Megumi's body. It was a total execution of demonic possession where the person who gets possessed has to be mentally weakened in order for the demon to take over.

Also, from my understanding of demonic entities, they are said to feed off of negative emotions and actually orchestrate situations that cause suffering precisely so that they can feed off of these emotions.

When sukuna and uraume laughed at yuji, I felt like I was laughed at too.

I have to admit that this is one of my favorite panels ever because, as you say, it's SO DESPICABLE of them to laugh at Yuji when he's so utterly broken after having miserably failed at saving Megumi.

I have personally been fascinated with the reactions this panel has gotten because it speaks to something very real.

Whether it is the experience of being bullied or our unwillingness and complete rejection of the very same evil that exists within, I feel like Gege struck a deep cord with the execution.

And this is one of the things that have been on my mind about Gege lately--his execution of events as of late has been far more brutal and cruel than before.

Idk how to explain but the events in Shibuya were bad and shocking... but #things right now just feel hopeless and it feels like Gege is unleashing his self-loathing onto his characters--and his self-loathing is cruel and brutal.

With mangaka like him I always have to wonder about their psyche. i.e. CLAMP's Nanase Okawa has an uncanny ability to take you into deep pits of relatable grief and meaningless despair right along with her characters.

All of the above said, I also agree with Frenchie about how I both hate and love Gege for the execution of this moment.

The fact that Gege was able to depict a deep experience of despair through Yuji and then elicit hate from the audience, it speaks to his ability as a story-teller and how the story he's telling resonates deeply with the audience in a cathartic fashion.

Also, not sure if you've seen this post by littleholmes but it includes a photo of what might be the Harima statue in question.

And like... the despair this child statue seems to be experiencing and expressing is so palpable, and I love Gege for making a reference to it because it speaks to Yuji's inner child's grief and helplessness and suffering for not being able to impose his will upon his environment.

Not sure if Spooky will write about it in more detail but I also love what @linkspooky said about the idea that Yuji trying to "Shonen protagonist" his way through things usually doesn't work out.

It's a nice twist on how Shonen mcs just barrel their way through #things with their typical Shonen mc single-minded determination, and everything works out because of the power of friendship or something like that.

Not to sound like a broken record, but this is why I don't understand the idea that JJK is cliché Shonen. There's so much happening underneath the surface that is so rich in commentary on common shonen tropes.

okay, i calmed down a bit. holy shit what a chapter. this chapter is possibly one of the most intense chapters you've posted yet, if not the most. the only other chapters that immediately come to mind in terms of emotional intensity are the ones including Gojo's tearful confession and the chapter with the "last kiss." this chapter devastated me on a completely different level. the drama had me reeling and i loved it so fucking much. well done, Kami. really well done.

i'm going to try to not sound like a broken record since you already know my immediate thoughts based off of my past few anons 😭 it's so interesting that Choso immediately goes to call Geto's brother shitty, yet later on in the chapter Geto refers to them at friends. Choso's denials are believable since he does seem like a major introvert and only really goes out of his way to socialize with the reader, but i wonder if we'll ever meet Kenjaku in this fic. or is this a sneak peak as to who we may meet in a certain sequel...? 👀👀👀 KAMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!! why do i feel like you're going to draw some parallels between Suguru and his brother's relationship to Choso's relationship with Sukuna. i'm not sure how it would go, but if you do choose to do that i feel like it would floor me.

i love that this chapter is unveiling so much of Choso's toxicity holy shit. i know it's all related to his possessive nature, but the anger issues had me taking breaks and walking laps in my room at 1:30 am on a work night. the way he's upset about things we aren't even aware of (how "flirtatious" we come off in a regular conversation) was expected but the way it built up to him exploding was just *chef's kiss*. the way still calls us little pet names, especially after that huge fight, stung me.

not only did this chapter reveal so much about Choso, but it really does solidify how toxic the reader is for him as well. there's no such thing as a perfect character (even though these jjk men get so close) but this was a perfect reminder that despite everything, the reader has her own red flags to work through as well. will she ever? probably not bc holy shit that passage was so perfect and needed. also, who wouldn't act that way in that kind of situation 😭 swatting OUR hand away when HE is the one causing the scene? omfg it got me so mad LMFAOOOO

also the reveal that Sukuna is a physically abusive asshole? omfg. it makes sense for his character but still, the contrast of that info to how we knew him is intense. it's a shame that he's so fucking hot 😭😭😭 with the things he's done, i understand why Choso has the feelings he does. but holy shit dude, the reader didn't know 😭 why tf is he taking it out on her 😭😭😭

Suguru that motherfucker. i hate now smart and intentional he is with every fuckin' action he does in this series. UGH. the way he had me cringing (in a good way) to the point of having to take breathing breaks after practically every line. especially when he said "Go after him, idiot."

KAMI. YOU 🫵🫵🫵🫵🫵 OH MY GODDDDD. IF IT WASN'T OBVIOUS THAT WHAT THE READER IS TO CHOSO, GOJO IS TO THE READER, HOLY SHIT. YOU'RE PRACTICALLY POINTING A NEON-LIGHT ARROW TOWARDS THAT PARALLEL. such a genius way to reuse that line. once i read that, it fucking clicked. the same fucking line Geto says to Gojo in chapter 8 after their first big fight. oh my fucking God Kami. reading that made me have to put down my phone and stare at the ceiling for a bit. so fucking well done. it's lowkey so funny how Geto has been there for so many of the big fights. i'm so fucking excited to see how this develops. my brain is so fried once again.

1. Gojo’s breakdown chapters & the chapter where Choso leaves (chapter 19 I think) were one of the only chapters that made me tear up while I wrote them😭 Well, aside from the next one I’m abt to drop- ANYWAYS THOUGH, glad you enjoyed it like always ^.^

2. See, here’s the thing about Kenjaku’s mentioning, he was only brought up to show two things; One, Choso has friends and a life outside of the reader, and Two, Choso and Geto have more of a connection/knowledge of each other than what might’ve been expected :)

It’s also another slight anime reference bc like I’ve said previously, I do tend to mirror things such as friend groups or actions to the way things are done in the anime & Choso’s appearance was always made with Kenjaku so, why not make that a factor here yk?🤷‍♀️

3. There actually are already some parallels ^.^

Notice how Choso calls Kenjaku shitty & Suguru snaps back by saying Choso’s brother (Sukuna obv) isn’t any better. Then, you also have Yuki who points out that both men haven’t told the reader anything about these terrible brother’s of theirs, despite both men having connections & intimate moments with her.

It’s kinda meant to show that there is a lot the reader simply doesn’t know. That was honestly somewhat the point of the past few drama chapters! There’s a list of things she learns all in the span of one day, from Gojo’s obsession to Sukuna being abusive— she learned all of that within a single day.

Anywho, the parallel is simply that the men who she claims as her type both have done similar things to her in regards to opening up🤷‍♀️

4. I wanna note that a lot of people are calling Choso’s actions here toxic. Now, I’m not going to disagree of course but, I will just say, his moment of blowing up isn’t unnatural. Choso’s not the best with his feelings, as we can see, and imagine you’re in his shoes for a moment.

How would you react to everything he was just told? Do you think you wouldn’t have blown up as he did? Especially when you consider how passionate he is about his brothers, more specifically, Yuji.

Just wanted to throw that out there! Yes, he shouldn’t have yelled the way he did but this is something that’d been building up & because he’s such an introvert (I am too ngl) it’s not unusual for him to have a sudden outburst as he did seeing as he typically keeps his thoughts and emotions inside rather than wearing them on his sleeve :)

5. Yep, I want people to understand that she herself is not perfect in anyway. The reader just gaslit the hell out of Choso & played on the fact that he believes she knew nothing about Sukuna.

NOW before y’all jump on our mc, while it is toxic & bad, she only does that for the benefit of everyone if you think about it. I said this earlier but she has learned a shitload of info in one day. With that, she’s just as stressed and tensed as Choso is atm so she uses her situation in order to manipulate Choso into telling her the truth about everything.

Think about it, she could never manipulate Gojo into telling her his truth and as said, the last thing she wanted was to go through that again, especially with someone like Choso who typically tells her everything.

Yes, yes it is bad that she did that but in a way, it was for something positive such as forcing Choso to open up to her. Not only that, it also gives her a path to reveal other things to him ^.^

6. Again, Choso didn’t exactly mean to blow up on her but he’s been tense the entire time so it was bound to happen. He’s not blaming her, he’s just upset and is unsure of how to properly express tht as we can see💀

And I think I said this to a few anons so far but, who knows the last time Choso & Sukuna interacted with one another? Given that & based on what the reader experienced, we don’t know how long ago Choso saw Sukuna be abusive to women, now Yuji on the other hand is different ofc because Choso clearly states Yuji’s current age and that kinda shows that tht abuse is ongoing.

7. When I tell you, I WAS SMILING SO HARD AS I WROTE TS. I LOOOOOOOOOOOVE making parallels so I literally went back to the chapter with Gojo & Geto just to recall what Geto said to him and then I was like “Yup, time to reuse this shit😈”

Story Study: Luka Couffaine in MLB S4E2, Truth

New blorbo official announcement: Luka Couffaine from Miraculous Ladybug.

(As of S5 episode Migration, pls no spoilers)

He's always been a pretty cool character, but I first got really excited about Luka in S4, episode Truth, when Marinette (his girlfriend at the time) refused to tell Luka her secret (about being a superhero). Luka was understandably quite upset and Shadow Moth tried to take advantage of this to akumatize him into the villain Truth - able to uncover secrets.

Luka resisted this. At this point in the series, resisting akumas was still RIDICULOUSLY rare and unheard-of and took a stunning amount of willpower. And he resisted it because - as he said - secrets can't be forced. That's smth he believed on principle. He wasn't gonna violate someone like that.

He did this EVEN THOUGH HE WAS ALREADY GENUINELY UPSET AT HER (and with good reason). He did this despite the immense temptation even being spoken to by Shadow Moth puts someone under. This is - excuse me - a stunningly miraculous display of self-control, morals, and strength of character. I've admired Luka ever since.

He did end up getting akumatized, but not before shouting at Marinette to run, fully aware he was about to become a villain without any real control over his actions.

And like - yeet, I do so love when characters are aware they're about to lose control - through no fault of their own - and are fighting with every last shred of their being to hold onto themselves, but some villain is slowly, inexorably, digging deeper into their soul and STEALING THEIR BODY, using it - using THEM - that's such an intimate violation I'm stunned speechless and it gets me every time.

(Tangential but - this is esp true if you're aware inside while it's going on - the guilt? The shame? That's YOU hurting your friends, your hands, your words - and there's nothing you can do to stop it and also it's your own out-of-control emotions that did this anyway (and maybe some tiny part of you feels justified and you hate that, too) - maybe this is why everyone forgets what happened afterward. Suppressed memories.)

Ofc if the character doesn't know it or forgets or its not actually made into a narratively significant thing (in MLB this happens at least once an episode, if not more) well then, it can't be impactful. Characters have to express smth to give the audience permission to also feel it. To acknowledge, yes this is as bad as it looks. Instead of moving on and making you wonder if that was really the intent. Sit in the emotion for a moment. Also bc, then you can get punched in the feels over the CHARACTER getting punched in the feels, and that's really the point of fiction. I digress.

But once the character ACKNOWLEDGES it like Luka does here??? THEN you can feel it!! YEET AND YIKERS YALL, I'M GONNA SCREECH!!! He KNOWS he's about to lose control, he knows the danger of akumatized villains - he's BEEN akumatized before, he was Silencer - and also since he knows the TARGET of his emotions is Marinette?? And she'll be the first in danger?? THIS IS MONUMENTALLY DISTRESSING!! To the point that he resists!! Successfully! For a good while! This is a legitimate violation of his physical body and he makes it CLEARLY known. And the reason is that if he utilized the power Shadow Moth is giving him, THAT'D BE A VIOLATION OF MARINETTE'S PRIVACY TOO!

Most MLB characters don't acknowledge the violation when they're getting akumatized bc they're already so fully under Shadow Moth's thrall by the time he even speaks to them. In other words they don't have the self-control, self-will, self-awareness, or desire to do so. Luka tho - YEET. Luka knows and he feels and he has a strong sense of morality amd responsibility and he FIGHTS. That's all it comes down to really. If a character can FIGHT for mastery of his own body. That's strength there.

ANYWAY! Luka became one of my fav characters (not more than Adrien tho, but Adrien's a whole 'nother post lol).

I wish he got more screentime. Characters fighting, resisting, sacrificing for their convictions - YEET that gets me. Characters sacrificing for PEOPLE THEY LOVE??? EVEN BETTER

Characters sacrificing for people they love WHEN THEY'RE NOT FEELING TOO HAPPY WITH THOSE PPL RIGHT NOW? MAKING THE LOVE UNCONDITIONAL??? AKGGHALFHALFNSLFHAKFBALHFKH

Characters resisting external villains for all that? Amazing. Characters ALSO resisting THEIR OWN SELVES - THEIR OWN DESIRES - ON TOP OF IT?? I'M GOING FERAL

I purposely put myself in situations that inspire and stoke less than healthy patterns or put myself closer to said situations and then wonder why im feeling all insane. I think I want to convince myself that it's 'all temporary' and that whatever happened before in my head won't happen again. But it will. If only I could go off the deep end in one fell swoop in every way ever. Even that horrible thing you're thinking about, whatever it is. Yes, even that one. Just do everything terrible ever and then end it with suicide which is also Terrible Thing bc God forbid someone has autonomy over a life he not only didn't ask for but was given little reason to stay in. Ruin everyone's opinion of me. Inspire only fear and vitriol. Hatred and hurt and pain pain PAIN. Sure! I am a bad person! What are you going to do about it! By the time you figure out enough to send a mob after me, I'll already be long dead. You'll have to wash the smell of rot out of your fucking walls. Bitch.

Wish I could just. Grow from morbid into truly heinously unforgivable like that corpse flower. Despite what anyone believes, it would be growth. Just in a different, undesirable form. But wouldn't it be rad just to go apeshit? For a final trigger to send me bouncing round the walls intent on seeing blood? Everyone would hate me. That would be ok. I don't mind. People can feel how they feel. I know I unnerve people. It's like they can see the thoughts behind my eyes. Tick-tock, tick-tock; counting down into the next impassioned tirade. Sometimes the demon overtakes. I wouldn't say I have a split personality disorder, I don't really fit the criteria. I gave him a name though. Anyway he does that. And then suddenly I am not in a harmonic split of choice and rationale. A correct and healthy balance of right and wrong, good and bad. Suddenly I am tilted, the entire world is tilted, I feel dizzy and I don't know if it's somewhat physical or all mental. Everything shifts. Things mean something different. I'm more alien and darker. And that little voice (not an actual voice, no hallucination) is urging urging urging like it's the end of times, and we only have 24 hours left on Earth and nothing to lose. That whim? Do it. The other one too. You know you want to. What? Too pussy? Coward. Come on. You know me. I'm you. What's stopping you?

And then rationale and logic and all that are on the Defensive. No. Don't do it. Fight it. [More of the demons temptations.] Okay. Maybe do it a little but only in a really roundabout way that doesn't hurt anyone. Okay. Let's maybe go for a smoke. Let's close our eyes and fantasize. Think think think. Fight it. GOD I listen to the song you said felt like Iris and N. You are so true it IS them. N telling Iris that she’s making a mistake by siding with the enemy

But Iris is sick of all the hate she’s getting from the people of Unova who don’t believe she’s good enough. She just wants to prove everyone wrong by showing how strong she truly is, even though drastic ways. But lmao yeah she’s just doing what the people of Unova did to her, treating them the same way they treated her

Imagine she found the location of Ghetsis temporary hide out and she just, girlbosses her way inside. Taking down grunts until she reaches the room where Ghetsis is trying to make a run for it, thinking the Government or some organization found his ass. But he’s still being cautious cause the damn Champion of Unova is there with her Haxorus. He makes a snide comment about how there’s finally a champion that takes initiative, the public must be happy with her

But she just, calls her Pokémon back to his pokeball and sits in a chair across from Ghetsis. Getting straight to the point about why she’s there, saying she wants to make a deal with him

She will give him private information about the Unova League, will fight for him should the time ever come, AND she reminds him about how she is the Hero of Fate and she can control Kyurem and it’s power, all of that in exchange for the power and control that comes with Team Plasma

She wants to become an equal to Ghetsis, she wants to be a leader of Team Plasma. She’s confident that with her help Team Plasma will rule over Unova. She’ll make sure the same mistake doesn’t happen again

(They both know the other would backstab them if given the chance, but they’re willing to work together for the time being)

Yknow while Ghetsis knows to not challenge the Champion, he wants her to know she's outnumbered still despite taking out the grunts guarding his office. So while talking to her he subtly taps his cane twice on the floor, calling forth the Shadow Triad. But it's been a minute, then a few more, he couldn't feel their presence, couldn't feel them within the room. He gritted his teeth, then he looked at Iris, she was smiling at him, shaking her head. She pulls out a black and bloodied bandana from her pocket, waving it around.

"you were looking for them weren't you?" She laughed at the way he tried to hide his surprise. She saw his grip on his cane getting tighter, and she drawled out, "they were weak. Then again, what did I expect from Plasma, anyways?" And she went on how it was just a pathetic organization, run by a pathetic man, and his equally pathetic sages and mercenaries. But, w her help, it won't have to be a sorry excuse for an organization anymore. Not like it was in the first place, she knew Plasma would be in a much better situation in her hands than on Ghetsis'. And god ofc, Ghetsis also wanted that power, and ofc he'd give her the benefit of a doubt of her being one of Plasma's leaders, especially since she has Kyurem too, and while he failed the first and second times, he's not gonna fail a third time. As they say, third time's the charm.

But then again, bad things come in threes.

The plan was going well. They first froze over Icirrus, as it was a frozen wasteland anyways, Dragonspiral Tower has been destroyed, not like it has any use for them anyways. Everyone was running, screaming for help, Brycen wasn't around as Gym Leader anymore, so the folks ran and got help from the strongest trainers in the city, hoping it would be enough to buy them time to call Brycen, or even better, their Champion. Iris merely watched them from the frigate, Ghetsis right besides her, he was monologuing really, she didn't listen, he was quite boring.

And when Icirrus was nothing more than a frozen graveyard, they left, just as Brycen finally arrived, what welcomed him were the frozen corpses of the people he once protected.

Next was Mistralton. Skyla had put up a fight, but unfortunately Flying types were weak to Ice. W her Braviary, they tried flying towards the frigate, a newfound rage in her eyes as the rest of her gym trainers were helping the people of Mistralton from the grunts. Just as she was close to getting to the frigate, a Hydreigon came in, stopping her. And ofc, she thought it was Ghetsis' Hydreigon, she knows he has one, so she and her Braviary tried attacking it. Just as she was about to win, a beam of ice hit her and Braviary, making them fall from the sky. Braviary was quick to recover, flying beneath Skyla just in time to save her from a gruesome death. And as the two looked up, the frigate went on the direction of Driftveil. Skyla looked around Mistralton, they couldn't save a lot of people and Pokémon, and god she felt like shit. She ended up calling Clay, warning him of Plasma, and after the call, she's there trying to help those who survived the brunt of Plasma's ice.

Ofc, it didn't surprise Iris in the slightest that Driftveil was prepared. And she knows by now that Clay also informed the rest of the League. Oh, what a hassle. But, as much as he put up a fight, Ground types were also weak to Ice. Iris just let Kyurem have his fun, she thinks he deserves it for all the hard work. She watches Clay along w his gym trainers and the trainers from the PWT try and stop Kyurem, but failing miserably. Kyurem howled and used Glaciate, Fire specialists and those w Fire types tried to counter it w Flamethrower and Heat Wave and Flare Blitz, crashing to the ice, hoping it'd melt, praying to Arceus it's enough. But it wasn't.

Watching them struggle, Iris actually laughed. Those people insulted her for being weak, but look who's the weak one now. Ghetsis wasn't around, but she knows what he was going to do. And man was it so predictable. She hears his footsteps behind her, no doubt to backstab her. Just as he was about to, he grunted, as he was suddenly held down to the ground. Iris finally turned to him, the Shadow Triad was pinning him to the deck, two were grabbing his arms, the other one has his hand the back of Ghetsis' neck, forcing him to look up to Iris. Ofc that caught him off guard. He thought they were dead.

Iris just laughed at him, then she looked at the mercenary in the middle, "you were right, he really fell for it," she said, pulling out the same bandana, throwing it in front of him.

Ghetsis struggled within their grasps, calling them traitors, but they said that Iris offered them a better deal, smth Ghetsis himself didn't offer them. The former boss of Plasma tried to fight back, to call out his own Pokémon, but none came out of their pokeball, refusing to do his bidding. Ghetsis looked up at Iris, a puff of smoke leaving her lips as she laughed, the cold was really getting to all of them. Her eyes were bright, almost glowing, she looked as if bored. Then w a smile, she said, "kill him."

And for once in his life, Ghetsis finally knew what fear felt like
