Recently I have been practising #slowliving practices like this - #therapeutic art of painting #Ganesha …. U see I’ve had this poster for years & over time it’s fallen off and been broken. #Heartbroken to loose one of my fav Ganesha images I noticed, hang on I can make a 3D replica & get an afternoon of craft out of it Transferring the skills used in regular painting - back colours first I found emends joy in the space it took in my day & now can enjoy the beautiful bright colours of him as I gaze into his wise ways … who is Ganesha ? He is the remover of obstacles (or put them there for us to wake up) & this is why is usually associated with #yoga 🧘🏽♀️ One of the stories of Ganesha goes that he was the eldest son of #shiva & his wife #Parvati & received his elephant head as he was protecting his mother whilst his father was away … shiva was unaware of his birth in his absence & therefore upon his return Ganesha was protecting his mother as she bathed. Shiva cut off his head in an anger & replaced it with an elephant head saying the large ears will help hear the needs of the people … I have found having Ganesha in my life as #support has really allow me to utilise the wisdom he symbolises …. The primary relationship that creates the pattern for all relationships begins with the one you have with yourself. If you don't love yourself, who you are, then it's difficult to set up the dynamics required to have a loving relationship with another. The only person who can heal or connect fully with that part of yourself IS yourself. Your partner is there to witness, to support, to nurture, to kiss your grazed knees when you fall and help you stand again, but it is not their role to heal you or fix those parts that feel broken. Love yourself. Value who you are and what you contribute to life and to those around you.
