Thinking about the fact that in my Shakespeare class this morning we were watching the Shakespeare Uncovered documentary for Hamlet (which is the one David Tenant hosts) and my teacher went "yeah so we watched one of these before for our twelfth night unit but this one's a little different because it focuses on hamlet more as a character, plus it's hosted by a fairly well known actor that some of you might know, or ever revere-"
SIR I MENTIONED THAT I LIKED HIM AS BENEDICK IN MUCH ADO ONCE DONT USE IT AGAINST ME INFRONT OF THESE PEOPLE

the only thing I keep notes on when writing is stuff that's already been signaled and needs to come back somehow, and I try to keep those notes as condensed as possible because if they're too lengthy or I have too many items I'll start missing things, but that gets very funny when I jot down something like

hi it's time for a dive into * .✧ ro's ancient oushirou art ✧. * on this lovely oushiversary!!
(aka i don't wanna reblog any of this art directly from the source bc a number of the posts include my old name ^_^ also there's a lot and i'm already spamming y'all with old art KJNASFKJN)
↑ early college era -- still hadn't taken coloring classes, but i had taken anatomy classes and was using my favorite boy as practice outside of classwork :o)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
↑ that first one was from when i was drawing my own dakimakura cover bc i figured honeybee would never deliver on an official one (and also a nod to the fact that i had just had my first taste of nutella and it broke my brain (positive)). and i could be wrong but i thiiiink the second one was around when the official one was announced...? maybe?
i just needed a daki so badly. when i FINALLY got my hands on the daki cover, pillows of that size weren't standard over here, so i actually had to make my OWN dakimakura by sewing two standard pillows together... in a larger case comprised of a sheet... which i did all by hand bc i didn't have my sewing machine at the dorm... i was Committed. 😊👍🏻✨
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
↑ The Sillies. i'm saving everyone from being subjected to all of the oushipug drawings but. ousheep.... ough... and i included the third one in my nick-gave-me-a-pass-to-gush post, but i'm putting it here too bc. it's cute. :3c
Tumblr media Tumblr media
↑ practicing with the yoh yoshinari sections in the PSG design books. good stuff, highly recommend taking a look if you're into very interesting western-japanese animation style mixes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
↑ shortly after getting my hands on after winter -- the bouquet is a drawing of a scene from his route ;w; he's so sweet... and so clumsy... top left is from the time when i was watching the end of clannad during all-nighters while working on assignments. can you tell just from that sentence that i was Quite Unwell at the time? KJASNFKJN. (still love miku!oushirou so much tho. honestly love this style. i want to study my art from around this time at some point, maybe regain some things that were uhhh Firmly Discouraged, to put it nicely, during my later college years.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
↑ doodle dumps! first one is from shortly after playing AW, second is from maybe... junior year with a couple from sophomore year? just a lot of style practice. third is mostly from the end of college when i was. struggling kJNASFJKN. SCAD Profs I Will Not Name made me feel like shit for drawing "too anime", then a couple of years later said their "anime" students were their favs, so my style was. very mixed and not confident. skjdnf.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
↑ random gifs! wish i could find it, but i also have one somewhere of him blasting off team rocket-style KJASNKDJN and another of him getting scared from a horror game? movie?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
↑ first anniversary pic!! and a reblog meme of "draw your favorite character wearing what you're wearing right now", and i was dressed to drive down the street for some late night gas station food w roommates.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
↑ selfship-before-selfship "wife blog" art from 12yrs ago!! kazuaki, the series's artist, has drawn catboy oushirou in design docs before, so he'll sometimes pop up in my art as well ksjdnfnkj. also, naturally, self insert art babey. and he's being a little asshole ksjnd.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
↑ the one on the left is like. right around when i graduated?? the one in the middle was for his bday, probably 2020, when i was just starting to get back into art, the one on the right is a college sketch that i redrew as practice to ease myself back into drawing in 2020.
Tumblr media
↑ bday cupcakes for the bday boy!!!! around like. 2013 or 2014? i used to do a lot of baking for his bdays before i had dietary restrictions kJNASKJFN, though i sometimes sneak a little treat in on his bday if i can find one.
maybe as i sift through posts on my old blog i'll collect all of the weird art i've done and post them in chunks like this. nice way to put them someplace without spamming people with old curiosities ksjdnfk.

Hi Sivsi! I was wondering if you had any advice on getting into needle felting? (I thought I saw at some point you had some thoughts on what wools are good or bad to start with?)
I need a craft for some craft nights I will be doing with some friends, and I have always been extremely inspired by the Laudna figure you made. I haven't done needle felting before, but I have made fabric & fiber figures other ways, so I am game to give needle felting a try! I would appreciate any tips you'd care to share. Your felted stuff is lovely.
Hi!! Firstly thank you for your compliments and ty for giving me an excuse to ramble haha (tho hopefully this big block of text won’t make things too intimidating!)
I’ve actually made a list of beginners items for a few others have asked. I go briefly into what they are + what they’re used for so hopefully it’s a good place to start as an overview of what you might invest in. I’ve also tried linking to only one or two shops (US based) to make it convenient and primarily share one of my biggest go-to Etsy shops! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1CaqjPi0l9-XCEJ_aU6c8m2p2bVEpy5Q56WdtU0XoTKY/edit
I think, following these links, would be the recommendation to avoid felting kits. They ideally should make things more convenient for beginners, but unfortunately tend to just be cheap cash grabs with inadequate supplies that seem to make things as user-hostile even for advanced felters. There are some really good ones out there, but the downside is that they’re coming from professional felters/small businesses and (understandably) necessitate a bigger price point. Fun if you know what you want and you want to learn from pros, but not always ideal if you’re completely new to felting and don’t want to spend $50 on one project’s worth of materials.
Next up is, like you’ve said, wool! i do mention this a bit in the above doc, but the biggest thing with wool is to avoid roving. Since you’ve done other fiber art before, I’m sure you’re aware of the difference, but for those who aren’t: roving is wool with a long fiber-length that’s been combed and straightened out for yarn spinning. In needlefelting, it can be good for longer fur or hair, but it’s horrendous to try and do sculptural work with and not ideal as your color layer, either. I stress this point because unfortunately roving is the most commonly available and unless you know to avoid it, most of what you’ll come across in stores and kits is going to give you a bad impression of what felting is capable of.
Instead, what you want to look for is carded wool. Wool that has been processed in a way that encourages the interlocking of crimped fibers until a large batt has formed. Variations can occur depending on the breed of wool, but generally carded wool is going to be very easy to sculpt and shape with your needles and will provide good color and detailing as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Roving vs carded)
That all being said, there’s a lot of different terminology in regards to wool specifications. Different breeds of wool will have different looks and feels to how they work, and it can be daunting when you don’t really know what you’re looking at. I’d highly recommend not stressing over it at first. As long as you’ve got carded wool you should be fine, and over time you’ll start to get a feel for what you like best/will be able to recognize their specifications and labeling as you go.
similar can be said about needles. there are a bunch of different needle shapes that supposedly do different things, but literally the only thing that truly matters is sizing. Large needles (lower gauge) for initial/bulk work, and finer (higher gauge) needles for colors and detail sculpting. Needle breakage is fairly common, so you can even just get a bulk variety pack off Amazon or something to begin with. Most of mine are from a bulk pack my mom bought years ago and only a couple are the “specialty” kinds. I would swear by my 42 spiral needle but I also wouldn’t die without it lol
Back on the topic of wool real quick - wool can be blended! If you’re in a pinch you can use blending to make new colors/shades, but I particularly would’ve loved to know abt this when I got started so that color transitions wouldn’t have been so damn hard lmao
Wire armatures! Armatures aren’t always necessary, however the more you felt the more likely you are to need to build one eventually. There are several methods, but the sturdiest and most versatile imo are ones that incorporate twisting wire together to build it up. I feel like people find these intimidating, but they’re actually super easy once you get the hang of it and are going to be far less fiddly than trying to tape or glue wire together.
Tumblr media
(I couldn’t find any tutorials on this method so here’s a shitty doodle instead lol. The main thing is to make sure both wires are wrapping around each other evenly, but otherwise the formula of Neck > Shoulders > leave wire for arms> Spine > Hip > Legs is the same across species and the only change is proportional)
Regarding armatures, I’d recommend a line of glue along your wire for the first layer of your wool wrap, as wire has very little grip to it otherwise and it can make things fiddly! after that first layer is on it should be fine, though.
Pastel works great as addition coloring! Typically pastel is known for needing a lot of fixative layers to stick to clay, plastic, vinyl, etc but because of the tightly felted texture of wool, the soft pastel powder works its way into the layer of fibers so deeply that I’d almost call it unforgiving if you mess up because it will not come out. I don’t know how well it reacts to prolonged/repetitive exposure to the oils on your hand, but given that a lot of it rests within the surface of the felt, I don’t think you’re actually going to be coming into contact with much of it by handling the colored areas. Nothing tracks onto my hands or comes out, even as I’m running it under water. Idk how relevant any of this rambling is but pastels are new experimentation for me and im gonna ramble abt it anyway lol
I think to try and wrap it up I’ll link a list of artists I really like on YouTube. Felting has always felt like an underrated, misunderstood craft to me and as a result I feel like the learning of techniques is a lot more closely communal, in a way, and also harder to find resources on when I was first starting out. A lot of what I’ve learnt has come down to closely watching the processes of others and making friends in the craft. Aside from me being a felting geek and finding process vids entertaining in general, these are some creators I feel like I’ve really learnt something from!

So if 141 were part of different motorsports, which would they be? Moto GP? Indy racing? F1? NASCAR? {there is an amazing story by Nuria123 called Racing Hearts Season , all out Formula 1. Highly recommend.}
Personally I need a story of 141 as a street racing team. Ghost would be the driver- I’m sorry he just is. Love my little guy. Will figure out his backstory later👍. Roach gotta be the name of his first car that he totalled tho. He’s be racing, but his car got rigged and his car does summersaults before crashing, Price going in and saving him. His old mechanic- Sparks- gets’s fired and he begins to fix his own cars, making his hands and deadly steady, but he struggles to figure out what he’s doing most of the time. Price knows he needs more help but is constantly getting waved off by his absent protests. Roach wasn’t coming back, so instead he made a new car called Ghost. Having connections with the son of a bitch Gaz with his mansions and museums filled with cars allowed him to buy his Porsche. It was a banged up Yeah, but he was determined to make Ghost perfect. His creation, all his no one was going to fuck it up. And then Price brought one stupid looking guy into the garage. He had a stupid Mohawk, a dumb leather jacket and an even dumber looking smirk. He hated the joy radiating off of him. And he heard his voice, fuckin’ hell- he’s Scottish too. Price introduced the two. Simon pulled the sleeve higher on his face, wanting this guy, John, to leave as soon as possible. Smiley, too giddy looking at his car, too intrigued in Simon. And greasy. Greasy. “Price, for fuck’s sakes- I told you I don’t need a fucking Mechanic.” Soap looks undeterred by his obvious irritation of his being there, continuing to mull over the severity of the damage. “This car has more potential and you know it son.” Price said sternly. “If my hands worked better I could help but if your gonna push me away every time I’m trying to help you not fuck up then it’s clear someone else more capable does.”
Simon hates that he knows he’s right. He’s not made to fix the shit box. Yeah he fixed the door and the paint, but with only one NOS connected, he felt incomplete, obviously needing more. She looked at John. Gave him a once over. “Pretty lass she is.” John smiled smoothly. Simon didn’t know what to say. What could he say. Be wanted nothing to do with this prick. Soap tried to ignore the clear distaste being thrown towards him. “So… what’s his name?”
Bold of him to assume the car was a guy. Which it was.
A sign to Ghost that this Scott was a bit more than he let on.
I went on a bit of a tangent there but basically:
Ghost = Driver
Gaz = Money machine
Soap = Mechanic
Price = Think Of Doc from Cars. Yeah.
Everyone else I got to figure out, including Soap’s nickname. Also König. Need my baby boy there- and Krueger and Nikto.

11, 16, 23! :)
11. Favorite comment you’ve ever recieved on your work?
Oh that's such a hard question bc I've gotten a lot of sweet comments over the years! But one that sticks in my head from recently is one of my regulars for my commissions commented that he's appreciated seeing my art improve over the years thru the comms themselves and it made me really happy! Like aw shucks, you liked my art enough then and continue to enjoy it more as I improve and grow?! Golly! Wow!!
16. What’s the most daunting part of your process? Ex, planning, sketching, lineart, rendering etc
Planning and composition can be so hard esp if I need to rope everyone into a background!! Once I've gotten past the sketch I can usually get on with things smooth sailing but oh the planning... for comic pages it's hard to get the panel layouts to look good, I still struggle with that a lot too.
23. Do you listen to music or watch shows while you work? If so, what’s your favourite?
Definitely lotta music and youtube vids and podcasts! There's definitely too many to list favorites properly!! but I'll just go through a small sampling of the more recent go to's
Dice Funk! I love Dice Funk theyre wrapping up their current season Rezubian this Sunday and I highly recommend that one it's a good goofy scifi adventure for ppl who like something of a star trek/spelljammer type setting. Ya Like Ilithids? come get em.
I've had AJR's new Album Maybe Man on loop. and by the album I mean Inertia and a handful of the other songs, tho they're all good!
I also continuously compile playlists for all my projects, like Runaway Drakaina, my DnD comic I'm chipping away at, concepts I'd like to work on someday... the RD playlist is 6 hours long and rn the most recent addition is Gone by Morning by Madilyn Mei
I have been slowly (slowly...) watching hbomberguy's donkey kong nightmare stream after seeing him share his side channel, like on and off when I want something really in the background. no paying attention head empty just listening to a man struggle with an old game while raising bonkers $$$ for a good cause
I like watching speedpaints where the artists really go into their process, ABDIllustrates and GinjaNinjaOwO are two big favs in that department! they inspire me a lot esp when it comes to character creation!
BobbyBroccoli got me to engage in a feature length documentary abt Nortel when I don't particularly care for the history of like... tech companies. so glowing endorsement he makes great docs abt tech/science related scandals
I could go on and on but we would be here All Day

😈 Has there been a point in a story where you did something just to be playfully mean to your readers?
🎢 Which of your fics would you call your wildest ride?
🎶 Do you listen to music while you write? What song have you been playing on loop lately?
🛠What tools/programs/apps do you use to write?
🌞 Do you have a preferred time of day to write?
💖 What made you start writing?
👀 Tell me about an up and coming wip please!
🤩 Who is your favorite character to write?
🤲 Would you please share a snippet of a wip?
🤭 Do you have a favorite tag to use when posting your works?
Lots because you said you were board <3
O my I'm gonna have to put this in a Google doc xD
1.) Not that I can particularly think of, no. The only instance there might be is a big cliffhanger for my fic Venture, I think.
2.) I'd say Venture or Imprisoned. (I should prolly link these, huh) Venture, because it's so long and I've got so many things happening in it, Imprisoned because of how many times Sap lashes out and fights back, and subsequently gets beat back down.
3.) Absolutely yes I do! I listen to music when I do everything! My current top four songs are Aura by GHOST, Rest Employed by the Stupendium, The End of The Line by the Stupendium, and Iron Lung by the Stupendium. Very good listens, I highly recommend them! (Remind me to put links)
4.) Just Google Docs
5.) Not particularly, just whenever motivation decides to hit me.
6.) I've always wanted to be a writer since I was a little kid, but what seriously got me started was the indie game Ib, where I was like, 'i can make g/t of that's and started typing away. That was several years ago tho, and the fic still hasn't seen the light of day cause my older writing is so bad. It needs to go through some heavy editing before I let it out.
7.) I have an Eddsworld nom fic i'm almost done with. I've been hanging on to it since I ditched my eddsworld blog (sadness) cause I wasn't willing to let the fic go. Another one I wanna talk about is a (still unnamed) XD fic. It's inspired by I think one of jknight's fics. It's got Sap and Dream and XD and it's sorta almost done.
8.) Sapnap, definitely. I like unhinged characters, and I like characters that can be calm headed in bad situations. The guy can be both!
9.) A snippet, you say…? How about this one? It's a bit of a continuation to Bees, when the Dream team are better acquaintances and George and Dream actually start to hang out with Sapnap.
"You've got–you've got five eyes?" Sapnap’s eyebrows creased, and he cocked his head at the hybrid.
Dream laughed and raised a hand to push up his fringe of hair. Indeed, there was a tiny, vertical fifth eye slitted in the middle of his forehead.
"Yep, but I don't use it much. My two main eyes do the same as the fifth.”
10.) I don't believe so? There is a thing I like to do, tho, cause I think it's funny. If I mess up the tag 'reblog' and misspell it like 'renlog' or 'reblig' I like to add fuck immediately after : D
Ty for the asks!!!

First actual post and keeping this like a progress journal format!
Game Progress:
Main Menu
Getting the Main Menu done was pretty easy with Renpys default code.
Using this video :
youtube
It really helped with customization.
But I plan to kick it up a notch and make the menu have a gif background! I want it to be more lively... the idea is that each game will show the characters you're experiencing the story with on screen.
In this case it will be Victor and Kojo.
But for now I want to get the base game stuff in order.
Custom Gui
I will add more to this but the GUI part have been a real trial and error cause I got too carried away and hoped into making art without thinking of how those assets could be reused. DONT BE LIKE ME.
Please map out the ideas of your color palletes, custom frames , menu backgrounds etc.
And please use a grid. Coding placement has me relearning x and y asis plus mental bs-ing while flipping between Clip and Booting up the code again.
Tumblr media
Below is the Frame for Notification, the dialog box and and skip box. I personally like having them be super similar to keep the theming but I've seen others play around with them too.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Notes
And this is advice for EVERYTHING when typing the code but please please please use Notes , fellas.
Tumblr media
Make sure to keep them brief. I tend to use them for reminding myself the exact moment a cg , sprite or animation should be used or like a "save point.
This is also good cause you really could overwhelmed yourself with a new cg for evey secne.
If I ever remaster the game I want to be able to use gif backgrounds some time, like ones with just a bit of light effects.
I have an idea of the style of music / sfx I want to use but for now the game is silent. So if I do end up never using music at all I want the best to atleast have a nice extra feel to them.
Pacing
A story board or flow chart is good to get the geenral idea of the pacing before , during and or after the dialogue/scene script is done. I've done both. Its been really helpful in cutting down on excess story, reusing assets and having you preplan your renpy files with necessary sections. Trust when I say coding can get uber messy and a clean code is such a breath of fresh air.
Below snippets of my Storyboard, flowchart and Google doc
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Below Image of a professional doing his script folder sections. I think he divided it by chapter and special scenes? I have to find the og video.
Tumblr media
One of my besties reads out the story outloud ( highly recommend) and my literature bestie is my editor. Both have seen the old flow charts/story boards , so its made the editing easier since the charts are a good "quick general recap" . They've also suggested way to tighten things or tell me to drop an unnecessary"path/storybeat"
My most up to date on is the Google docs (the tick box list) . I will miss my old story board, but some things have to go....this out of context part tho survived the GREAT EDIT.
Tumblr media
So that's if for now! I started this progress last year around August/September and dedicated every Wednesday to be a Dev day, so I might try to make those nights/Thursdays when I update this blog on that stuff.

eyes emoji? been lurking on the doc ock content for a while... i always thought he was a Big Smart Sciencey Man who gave himself his uh. Extra Limbs i suppose. he was Forcibly turned?????? what Happened im Curious
it depends on the comic, cartoon, movie, etc. as to what happened, but the one thing that's the same is that he made the actuators (the arms) himself. As well as the fact the actuators were also, y'know, literally fused to him.
His reasons for making them differs. These are the only 2 I know aha... but they do show a good difference. (they're also really great and u should def check them out!! highly recommend), however, this does spoil some stuff.
Spiderman 2: they were a vital part of making his reactor thing. It blew up in his face and it wrecked the actuators that were still attached to him. The actuators had a very high functioning AI and one thing lead to another and he went off the deep end, but like.. Not willingly. :( The arms puppeteered him in a way? They got fused to him and took over his mind. Which, if I had 4 extra voices screeching and chattering in my skull 24/7 I, too, would lose it. Lol
TSSM: they were just tools to help aid him with his work, multitasking, performing actions that one couldn't normally do, "and of course.. maintaining a safe distance.". They do require a battery of sorts to keep them powered up, after the incident of being electrocuted and having "become one with my arms." he requires extra charging, which, luckily there's a guy who is literally a walking source of infinite electricity nearby :)
Both Doc Ock's were originally very kind and sweet scientists before their accidents, and still have that side to them deep down even after.
[Additionally, there's also my own Doc Ock & how he was forcibly turned]
a little further explanation on TSSM Otto tho:
Episode 8 of TSSM is his Doc Ock origin, where you see the incident occur.
spoilers under the cut <3
constantly being belittled, traumatized, and abused to some extent by Norman, he was locked into an experimentation chamber when he had begun some maintenance work on it. (if you're familiar with norman being green goblin then you know it was norman who locked him in there)
experiment commenced and a lot of electricity and power surged until Otto was electrocuted and the place kinda blew up a little. Of course, Norman comes in pretending to be concerned, and his prior berate-ment of the poor guy just earlier before this incident comes echoing into Otto's head as he comes back to after being found and uncovered. "I can't have weak men in my organization"
and rightfully, Otto finally lashes out at him. accepting his fate that had been forced onto him unwillingly by his own boss.
unfortunately, that comes with a lot of trauma..
The poor guy honestly. You feel really bad for him and I really don't blame him, he didn't deserve any of that which happened to him.

How I Annotate (Nobody Asked Tho)
This is just the way I do it, not trying to say it's the correct or superior way to do it.
First step is acquiring access to google drive, which I use bc it's free and I'm poor.
Second step is putting the text of what you're reading *into* the google doc. If you read physical copies and are scared of writing in them, you're gonna have a ton of typing ahead of you. If you read PDFs or ebooks, you can copy-paste, but it'll only let you paste so much at once and you'll have to do it in batches of a few paragraphs at a time. It's very time consuming, sorry. I also HIGHLY recommend putting the chapter titles as Headings instead of normal text, bc in google docs it will act as hyperlinks to those specific parts of the document. (screenshot of the left side of my annotated document of If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio. I'll be using this document for example shots.)
Tumblr media
Third step is setting up your highlighting key [(if you're going to use specific colors for different things that is, you don't have to tho) (comments default to an ugly yellow color that i don't like, if you know how to change this let me know, and also if you're going to make comments instead of typing directly in the text be aware of this)]
Tumblr media
Fourth is to decide how you're going to differentiate your thoughts from the text of the story, bc as mentioned before, the comments all default to the same ugly color and i don't like it. What I do is highlight the section relevant to the annotation in whatever color my key dictates, and then change my font and bold it and type the annotation in between the paragraphs or sentences, usually encased in {{ and }} and highlighted in the same color as the section.
Tumblr media
I like doing it this way for now, but who knows! One of the best things about digital annotating is that you can change it part way through the book and keep everything consistent, instead of halfway through a physical copy the blue highlighting is suddenly something else bc there wasn't enough of it's first purpose.
Here's my pro/con list for my current method, because it's not perfect but it's mine.
Pro:
Very customizable, you can differentiate your annotation from the actual text in a wide variety of ways and use custom highlight colors to fit your aesthetic
You can easily insert links in your annotations if you want to link a specific article, website, or even another book document at a point in the text
Can annotate any book this way, even if it's an antique book or you only have a physical copy that's a collector's edition and therefore don't want to ruin it
Makes it possible to share the document with friends (or even a book club!) and have all the annotations in the same place while people are reading at the same time
Con:
Having the annotations in the text itself can get super clunky and make it harder to read after a bit, hopefully I'll find either a way in google docs to change the comment highlight color, or another *FREE* software where I can do that
Have to put the text of the book into a new document before you can get started, which as I said earlier is very time consuming. I know there are PDF editors and annotating software, but I've yet to find one that I like the layout and mechanics of
Can be difficult to find where you left off if you didn't write it down or make a note somewhere in the document

eidolon’s gender diaries: 7/6/2023
i thought it might be fun to document my medical transition here! i may even show photos of myself when relevant. today was just intake, though, so no need yet.
so. ive known i was trans since i was 11. came out to my entire family and school at 13. and ive been wanting top surgery and HRT the entire time
however i was super mentally unstable in my teen years, trauma, abuse and mental illness made it a hell of a struggle to stay alive. i was drowning and the possibility of testosterone making that worse concerned my mom.
we tried to get me on hormone blockers, but the guy i saw was a transphobic dickwad and deemed me not trans, even tho i thought i was a binary trans man at the time. he said i was just hormonal and sent me to the womens ward to go on birth control
ive been on just that, birth control, for 8-9 years now. my periods cause me severe dysphoria, but honestly it was not even sort of enough to help. it was a bandaid solution to a bigger problem
over the past 13 years of learning and growing and figuring myself out, ive come to love my body and identity the best i possibly can. but as my mental state stabilized yet my dysphoria stayed consistently horrific and disabling, i realized i might have to make the jump and start gender affirming care
it was scary. my dream has always been to be gender non conforming. ideal gender presentation for me is like... beard, makeup, long hair, no boobs and a dress. lol. tho tbh, clothes wise i dress different all the time. but u kno
given the bad experience with the highly acclaimed gender specialist at 16, i was highkey terrified but my experience at the lgbt clinic i went to today was literally insanely positive
first off, my doctor is trans. they are not 100% sure on pronouns yet, but they do not identify with their assigned gender. love it! they are super passionate, kind, and caring. they love to say “beautiful” when they mean “great” (i.e. “do you know about xyz side effect?” “yeah!” “beautiful :D”) and theyre just... so cute lol.
i got my blood drawn for tests on diabetes risk, blood cell count, and testosterone and estrogen levels. i just got it drawn for other health issues recently so thankfully that lessened the amount of bloodwork. i haaate bloodwork.
i also had to sign So much paperwork so my doc is not legally accountable for if i misuse the meds or dont like the results. he wished he could just give me testosterone today but that and the bloodwork needs done first
im a little afraid of the lifestyle changes ill need to make, namely with making sure to exercise more as there is a higher risk of cardiac arrest and similar issues on testosterone but staying in shape can help lessen it. but i think itll be good for my mental health in the long run, and a good motivator
next week i have an appointment where we will do everything and ill get my first prescription of testosterone... shakes like a chihuahua in excitement
also, apparently my insurance is very lax about top surgery and i may be able to get it within the month. at the latest, within the year!!!!!! my bmi/weight does not matter and i got a recommendation of a surgeon i was already impressed with the results of!!! hes done a lot of top surgery for “obese” patients and it all looks amazing
im literally so excited. i honestly thought i might not live to see the day i got to medically transition... but here we are :D i lived!!! i lived bitches!! im 24 and i have a long life to continue!!! and i will be so much happier and my body will feel like MINE!!!!!!!!!

you said go wild /lh (/nf to do all of those tho fajwekj)
1 - Answered on Doc's ask <3
16 - What’s an AU you would love to read? (or have read and loved)
This is a typical one, but I've always loved Soulmate AUs. They're the first fics I've ever read and remain my favorite AU.
17 - What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it?
I don’t think I’ve ever talked about this, but a twist on the hanahaki AU, instead of growing flowers in their lungs, they slowly start to fade away, becoming more ghost-like each day. Over time they do lose their feelings for the other, which stops them from dying, but this would be after weeks/months of them losing their memories and losing their physical form. By the end of this, they’d become a completely different person and would never be able to gain those memories back.
25 - What other websites or resources do you use most often when you write?
Always use Google Drive and Docs for my writings, but other than that just Grammarly for editing!
31 - What’s your ideal fic length to write?
The ideal length for me would be 1,000-2,000 words. Although, one day I would love to be able to write something longer.
32 - What’s your ideal fic length to read?
I’ll read anything, but I do prefer longer fics; 2,000+ words.
39 - Is any aspect of your writing process inspired by other writers or people? If so, who?
Nope! My horrible writing process is entirely my own, even if I should probably look into ways to make it more progressive.
44 - If you take/write prompts: do you prefer dialogue or scenario/narrative prompts?
Definitely scenario/narrative prompts. I have a burning hate for writing dialogue so I try to avoid those as much as possible.
48 - What’s the last fic you read? Do you recommend it?
“Moon Song: A Wolf Tail” on A03(One-Shot, 12,000 words). If you’re into The Hobbit, then ya I would absolutely recommend it! It has a nice mix of angst, hurt/comfort, and a happy ending.
49 - What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!
“Scar”
He was named after his greatest insecurity: the long pale scars that covered his face.
Back when it was just a silly joke between friends, nothing more than some playful teasing, he was okay with it. Then the name started to spread like wildfire. People taking the nickname and replacing his name with it, until it was everywhere. Soon, anywhere he looked, that horrible name was stuck to him, trapping him.
Every time he saw that name it reminded him why he couldn’t look in mirrors, why he hated pictures, why he hated how he looked.

I’m sorry king I’ve never seen tombstone, just aliens and near dark, is it good tho?
It is 100% where even if Westerns aren't your thing, I would still highly recommend. It is so good and I love it personally. And if you got a thing for old-timey western men, would recommend 150%. It is my favorite historical western hands down and Val Kilmer's Doc Holliday is something you don't want to miss out on.

An intellectual: the real point of Twin Peaks is that it’s a meta commentary on the past zeitgeist created by TV and media that causes people to be desensitized to violence and fear more easily and that we need a balance for without good the dark will consume and tear you apart but the audience’s desire for answers caused the show to fail and The Return was commentary on the state of fans wanting the show back but because the mystery was already solved it can never be what it once was and the festering of negativity in culture caused by media over the 25 years since Twin Peaks first aired has only worsened our need to see casual violence and not consider the actual ramifications of that desire which in turn corrupts Twin Peaks as a show itself.
Me: hahaha Dale Cooper go brrrr

Thank you for helping me with the light theme mode! Can I ask another thing? It's not a coding-related one this time! Can you tell us tips on how to plan choices-based games? Like, how to be organized with so many choices, romance options, paths. I'm sorry if I am bothering you, feel free to ignore me if you want!! 😅
hmm i'm not sure I'll have that much of use to say - while there are all kinds of writing tips and advice out there, and I'll recommend some programmes and such that I find useful, it's really all about figuring out your own process & what works for you.
my advice would be to get at least a little bit comfortable with writing branching fiction in concept, and the kind of thinking required for coding: personally, I think it's a good idea to try a smaller project to practise ideas and coding on, something that you don't intend to share.
second, much as i personally hate outlining and planning, turns out it does help - me, at least. it doesn't have to be super precise, but to have notes of what needs to happen in each branch, what information the player needs to receive, what interactions they need to have, etc - having a loose outline really helps me keep track of that, as well as maintaining consistent pacing across branches. i pretty much just have a google doc with branches colour coded, but ik some people get really sophisticated with things.
that being said, it helps not to be too rigid - a lot of my smaller branches, in particular in dialogue, come from me just vibing and following the flow of the scene, and that works for me, helps keep me interested and I think makes the interactions more dynamic and natural.
third (fourth? idk) - ambition is a good thing, especially when it keeps you interested, but there's a balance between ambition and needlessly overstretching yourself. too many branches will inevitably lead to less indepth content for each branch, just 'cause you won't have the time or inclination to provide equal content. it's up to you to decide what constitutes 'too many branches', tho - whether that's lots of ros, or a massive range of choices, or a blank slate mc with a huge range of personality options. everyone's limits are different.
obsidian - a notes app with lots of functionalities including a mindmap type screen that's apparently v good for plotting (full disclosure I haven't messed w this one much but it comes highly recommended)
miro - mindmaps!! good for plotting heavily branching stories, you can colour code and add sticky notes and all sorts
trello - also a good organisational tool, i use it for to-do lists when editing and such
