Hiiro: I told you that…I had a talk with Tenshouin-senpai before our conversation on the phone in the rose garden, right?

Mayoi: Yes. On the car ride home…You had told us that you were in the office reading fan letters.

Hiiro: It was a confusing, unclear series of questions and answers. However, from that moment on, I really began to care.

How will I meet my fans’ expectations? How should I grant Tenshouin-senpai’s wishes? What is an idol, even?

I was told to think a lot about it, and I’ve been really thinking about until today but—

I look at you, who can do anything, and there’s times where I think to myself “What the hell is guy?” and get super frustrated.

If even Hiro-kun is worrying and thinking like this, I can see that we’re really just the similar in that way.

Hiiro: …hm. I wish I could have a flexible way of thinking like you, Aira.

This time around though, I understood that both back then and now, I’m only brooding about, and that I have no confidence in the conclusion I reached. I felt like I didn’t grow.

Tatsumi: Don’t be so hard on yourself.

While you are bold enough to take action, on the other hand, you are also capable of holding your ground to make a careful judgment—

Hiiro-san, isn’t it possible that your virtue to thoughtfully react to questions has stayed the same since you were a child?

Compared to when we first met, you’ve grown dramatically in singing, dancing, and movements. If you can take my word for it, I can guarantee that.

Being a person who doesn’t know much about idols, I’m amazed at the amount of growth you’ve accomplished over just one summer.

Even if you’re not similar to the others, we can work on the parts that you feel inexperienced at from this point on. Because we will help you as much as you need…♪

I feel very guilty for the crisis that I have caused to everyone, and I will reflect upon my actions.

To know that I have comrades who are close to me, it’s very reassuring. I feel more light-hearted now.

I’ve come to learn the common sense of the city, and of course, there are countless things I’ve gained since becoming an idol…For me too, I’m sure I figured out a couple of things, too.

I’ll think more optimistically from here on again. For a clear answer to Tenshouin-senpai, and what I can do for Alkaloid.

Tatsumi: That’s right. There is nothing that you have to face by yourself, Hiiro-san.

The fact that a good result is required of Alkaloid, it’s a problem that affects the entire unit.

Sooner or later, regardless of who started it, we would have something to confront.

Aira: I think if I had started it, and if Tenshouin-senpai had come at me like that…To be honest, it’s a scary thought.

To put it simply, to win some sort of award. But in reality, to become so popular that you’ll have a schedule where you’re counting down by the minute—

It’s the height of being an idol…It’s not like we ourselves covet the status of being popular figures.

Aira: We're the younger generation. Yeah, we’re not really hungry for power. 

I mean, have you ever thought of aiming to become one of ES' Big 3?! Honestly, I haven’t.

Tatsumi: The Big 3….Hm. If popularity ranking is visualized on the foundation of a clear, numerical value of L$, it may be an appropriate indicator of authority within ES.

Aira: But numbers aren’t everything, right?

Even for a term like “top idol”, everyone has different criteria for what makes someone at the top.

In my case, I call someone a top idol when I can point at them and call them great but…

How well they sell, their ability, popularity...Financial power? It's not like the top idols in every sphere are all the same

Mayoi: Yeah. Even after this much deliberate thinking, there’s no way that we can just come up with something so suddenly, after all…

Tatsumi: The realization seems to be setting in that viewing things from an ordinary perspective will not do—For both close goals, and far goals

Hiiro: ….That’s right but. It’s just one thing, but something came to mind for me.

Hiiro: Less of being something that I want to do, it’s more of something that came to mind.

It’d be a job for everyone in Alkaloid, and not only can we act on it at once, but I have a feeling that we would rake in some good experience.

I was told it was a happening on a large scale…We should be able to get good results from it.

So because I want to record my progression of where I am in the story, I'm posting my impressions of the units so far. (Disclaimer: I haven't read many of the stories, and about half the knowledge I have is from osmosis and spoilers. The other half is actually reading wiki entries and the actual stories. So if these takes are inaccurate, that is probably the point XD)

Without further ado....

fine - unit of 2 rich kids who are sort of trying to be slightly less evil but kind of still are evil, one (1) theatre kid who is just there for the ride and his crush, and a butler with the face of an angel and the threatening aura of a ezekiel-accurate angel in disguise. Also another impression I had of it was one chronically ill idol stan with three of his idol crushes. But they're solid, if slightly flowery; not exactly my style but their songs are good.

Trickstar - literally my sons. Traumatised idiots who choose to continue to see the bright side with a slice of anarchy. They're all so dumb. Their leader looks straight laced but is more insane than his co-leader who is perpetually wearing the ^u^ expression (except when trauma slapped). The other two members are a camera-phobic gamer boy who is also a model and a guy who exudes reliability and sanity but is also kind of an insane workaholic with inferiority issues. I'm adopting them all and their songs are like…both generic but SO sincere you can't hate it.

Ryuseitai - Me when first meeting them: Awww! A power ranger themed unit! So cute! Me, after hearing stuff about the two senior members' lore and how they recruited their youngsters: (clutching my heart, trying not to sob/lose my mind) Aww! A power ranger themed unit! S-so cute! I would die for literally all of them…WHY. Such silly happy sincere tunes sung by such silly, devastating characters??? Found family, to me

Alkaloid - everyone here believes they are holding everyone else back with their psychological problems (Mayoi), disability problems (Tatsumi), ability problems (Aira), or culture shock problems (Hiiro). And yet they're the unit whose songs have mostly all been ones I absolutely loved. Which means the assembly machine factory idols Eichi's got going on are working and idk how I feel about that

Eden - A bunch of guys with severe family issues who probably have never read the bible (well, maybe Nagisa has). So, like, tw inaccurate depictions of the bible? Anyway, deranged quartet of a softie obsessed with cool rocks but really he has sort of a god complex, a guy with a perpetual :D who is as smart as he thinks he is but is also kind of oblivious to all of his other skills and flaws (and thus is a combo of terrifying snake and kind of someone you're sort of humouring because he's funny), a spoiled princess who might have a bit of a savior complex, and a dude who kinda just got swept along for the ride but is actually really fond of them. And it shows in their music.

Valkyrie - Just….theatre kids, who put the drama in dramatic and the intense in intensity (that's definitely not how the expression is used). They also have a very strange thing going on even though they're trying to be healthier, but I'm too afraid to ask. Unfortunately, though, they have some killer compositions and so many references to Classics and Things, not to mention their songs are genuinely good for those who want that quick theatrical vibe

2wink - Adorable twins that I was lured into thinking were the normal mischief twin duo trope but what in the actual ensemble were the writers DOING? They deserve at least half the cw/tw tags. Also, one of them is kinda like Trickstar (just wants to make things brighter) while the other one has schemes and will not hesitate to destroy you while giggling, yes. All that angst but they have such cheery tunes. Like, boys please….

Crazy:B - I mean, with a name like that….listen. You think it's the guy with the metabolism-related medical condition who has a dad implied to be accused of cannibalism and his freeloader who is a literal prince but also constantly broke that would be the most insane. But, no, we also have a fifteen year old assassin who has definitely killed and a guy who is literally both committing identity theft AND helping in witness protection. But, yes, their songs are fun, as is their dynamic. Also…Amagi brothers. Ough.

Undead - This is just…four urban fantasy love interests thrown into a unit. I'm not exactly sure what urban fantasy race Adonis and Kaoru are (though sometimes I'm inclined to think adonis is the protagonist who just kinda got swept along for the ride except he does have the vibe sometimes (aka casually kidnapping HiMERU)) but a vampire and werewolf are very obviously there. Really do love their rock and roll style, like come on (though I sometimes do think it'd be cool if they let Rei's love for jazz into their songs)

Ra*bits - Look. I love them. It really is just a single dad with one of the most messed up backstories doing his best. But like, also, leave them alone please?? The writers really just made them the damsel in distress character that makes Subaru go "oh, I have to take this revolution stuff seriously" and that's not even mentioning all the other stuff they seem to go through??? Like they do not belong in whatever genre Enstars is going for but they make it work but….let them rest. Songs not my style but they fit their vibe of "smile and spread joy" which works cause I do feel joy. Like Trickstar without the revolutionary goals.

Akatsuki - TBH, I'm still kind of wondering why these three (a warrior, a mangaka, and a tailor who used to be a delinquent) are still idols. I mean, they do have talent and traditional aesthetic is fire, and they're definitely sort of found family, but why still idols guys? That said, again, songs not my style but they definitely capture their aesthetic and vibe and that's always cool to me. Also, one of the members was raised in a Buddhist temple and helped with funerals, and I do not know enough about Buddhism enough to say if they portray a Buddhist accurately but given how they portray everyone else's quirks, it probably still has a giant dose of deranged on it.

Knights - HAHAHAHAHA. They're all insane. But they have talent and earned their place in the big three. But that does not make them less insane. That's all because I will go a bit barmy if I think about them too much. Silly, insane knights who enjoy hobbies like kidnapping (affectionate) and dancing/singing (will kill you in a duel)

Switch - Look….at heart, I can't hate these fantasy game isekai themed group. I enjoy their music because I do like the electropop remix/edm thing they have going on. And it DOES kill me that the only two 3-people units (Akatsuki and Switch) both have the dynamic of "a couple of parents and their beloved and most treasured cinnamon roll of a chaotic son." But like Valkyrie, I don't know what's going on with the senior members and am too afraid to ask, especially since they seem fine with it while their son with synesthesia cheers them on.

MaM - He is literally a cowboy. I - is there a thing with Japan and cowboys? And did someone at the writer's table see that samurai, Victorian thief, cowboys, and pirates post? Because somehow, the only member of this unit is all of them. A very stark contrast against his weirdly cheerleader/mom friend songs. I know he has mommy issues (mafia thing, I think) but.....son, are you okay?

Double Face - Yeah, okay, I love them. They might be the murder unit and I still have no clue to their formation but I love it. Put the Victorian cowboy thief samurai pirate and the child assassin together and you get secret agent type music that sounds like it could be in an old spy flick? How can you not love it?

Hm… I know I said this before, but will the fans really be happy seeing me fanboy over other idols?

Kohaku: I think so too, Love-han. The you in front of us right now is overflowing with happiness.

That’s probably why I like going to idol shops with you.

I don’t want to just see the audience’s smiles, I want them to see the smile of the idol they love…

okay so im gonna do this both ways as in favorite riders the shows and favorite riders the characters

for shows:

1. kamen rider w (wbk, my forever beloved, i dont think this will stop being my favorite soon. the fucking detective show. DUB E X crime and the city. fucking found family. hidari shotaro MY GUY. so much insanity just look at my header on here. phillip :')))) i have so many feelings and im forcing myself to stop here. ryu voice Dont Ask Me Questions.)

2. kamen rider ex aid (my first rider and yknow you dont forget your first rider. the gamer doctors are my beloved. the suits are so cool (taddle legacy!!!) kiriya is here AND HANAYA TAIGA. WHY IS HE LIKE THIS. taihii the most insane ship dynamic ever. POPPY MY BELOVED <33333 the character songs are So Good. i like real game and the taddle legacy theme a normal amount. EXCITE EXCITE ALL I GOTTA DO IS LIVE ON)

3. kamen rider ghost (big part of this is takeru which ill get to later. but goood theres so much good in this show. warera omou yue ni warera ari!!!! its literally so fun. and the messages are so good!!! life is beautiful and i never want to die. makoala and takekari marriages happened and nothing else is canon. THE BELT NOISE THE BELT NOISES. mugen ghost is my fav final form ever. that one henshin scene from the summer movie kills me. keep going go go go go go go gotta ghost!!!!!)

4. everything else ive watched so ooo and revice (ooo: i need to rewatch this one actually bc it made me feel so much but then i watched w next so yeah. ANKHEIJI LEGENDARY GAY OF ALL TIME. i love all the characters so so so fucking much but especially eiji this fucking guy. the greeed my beloved... the insert songs!!! so many times you can find me singing SONO SHUNKAN NOMIKOMARERU DAAKU SAIDO NO KIKEN NA YOUKUBO. so yeah you count the medals one two and three anything goes life goes on coming up ooo :')) (revice: free theraphy show fr fr. like just good vibes all around. loved this one so much. there is tragedy but we prevail. the music is fucking amazing i have listened to mirage mirror 73 times within a single month of discovering it. the suits!!! daiji and ikki and sakura the siblings ever. hana makes me emotional and also hanasaku oh my god heated drama between women. deep drop danger kamen rider demons INSANE belt noises in general. THE THEMES IN THIS SHOW YES I WILL LOVE MYSELF.)

1. shotaro/kamen rider w & kamen rider joker (the fucking guy ever. god. i like him so much its a little distressing. hes my best friend. i want to dress like him sort of unironically. i am feverishly waiting for my joker memory to arrive. HIS BACKSTORY MAKES ME SO SAD. LIKE I CAN EMPATHISE. SO MUCH. and his dynamic with phillip akiko ryu i :'))) the found family ever. yeah. i often rewatch w ep49 just for the joker scenes. i have his birthday as per my headcanon in my calendar. i am not normal)

2. taiga/kamen rider snipe (so. hes my type of character so fucking much. broken sad lonely fucker of a guy. i want to kill i also want to hug him and i want to make him kiss hiiro. saving people to save yourself,,,,, yeah. NICO TAIGA THE SIBLINGS EVER. babang bang bang babang bang shooting uh. his fucking emo fringe neon suit. the dog tags he wears for no reason. THE SNIPE PREQUELLLLL im gonna stop here before it derails but oh my fucking lord)

3. takeru/kamen rider ghost (YEAH SO. tied for my fav main rider with eiji. takeru is incredibly important to me if he werent the same age as my brother id call him son but alas. i want a hug from him i think it would fix me. his fucking journey as a character..... he makes me sad but like happy sad. like i appreciate life more when im sad about him. his scenes in the pacman movie literally kill me. you always gotta keep going chasing after life its the only way you can live. go go go ghost [i start crying uncontrollably])

4. daiji/kamen rider live (bonded with this guy 6 episodes into revice its insane. this character is insane. i need to hug him. his fucking character song is therapy for me. KAGERO YOU FUCKING EMO EBOY. daijis vcinema is so good and i felt so much. i love the evililtylive suit despite the stupid name. i just love daiji in general and i dont ever think about how his actor is the same age as me <3)

5. eiji/kamen rider ooo (MY GUY MY GUY MY GUUUUUUY. i need to give him a hug. hes been through so much. but he still. he still is Like this. like what the fuck genuinely. the scene from ep30 is in my head constantly. tied for my fav main rider with takeru bc god does eiji make me feel things. but this is so fucking long already if you need to hear me cry about him send me an ask bc. ohmygod. HINO FUCKING EIJI. i dont Ever think about him in zi-o. and ooo 10th is not real)

I haven't seen him since he left homeroom, actually. He said he was going to the garden today or something, and left the classroom early.

Rinne: So while Hina's out tending to crops, Yuta-kun's droppin' by the arcade on the way back from school.

You called me a good-for-nothing earlier, but taking a detour to the arcade sounds pretty irresponsible to me, y'know!

Yuuta: What~? This stuff's normal. You can buy and eat at the shopping district, and there's even a live house here you can go to.

Hiiro-kun stops by places on the way back from school, too. Don’t you know about that?

Rinne: ...He tells me plenty about how bright and fun school life is, but he's never told me about his after-school detours.

Yuuta: I’m guessing Aniki takes him around places, since they’re both roommates.

He probably said something like, "I’m sure you got used to school by now! So let’s head on to the next step!"

Rinne: I can imagine that. So have you two been getting along with that lil' brother of mine by doing stuff like that with him?

Yuuta: Yep, we get along. Our class as a whole is pretty close in general.

During the last exam period, we would all stay after class and study together. But this one time, at some point, Aniki sneaked out...

By the time I noticed, he’d gone and bought soda for everybody.

Knowing Aniki, he probably just did it 'cuz he wanted to take a break, really.

(...Wait, at what point did I start talking about Aniki? Why should I bother telling Rinne-senpai all this, anyway?)

Rinne: Why'd ya stop? What happened after that? I wanna hear stuff about homeroom and class duties too.

Yuuta: Can't you just ask Hiiro-kun directly instead of me? What’s so interesting about homeroom and class duties in the first place—

Oh, that reminds me. Our class has this new craze where the person in charge of class duties will leave a note in a journal for the person on duty the next day.

Aniki started getting really into it, so he began leaving riddles and making it impossible to read without decoding the message!

(Huh? I started talking about Aniki again. I guess I can try telling him about what Hiiro-kun wrote...)

Rinne: ...Oh, they've got a new medal game[4] here! Yuta-kun, c'mere!

Fighting stands, or battle tables (対戦台), are back-to back arcade games commonly found in Japan. They're popular for fighting games, and instead of the side-by-side versus modes often found in overseas arcades, the opponents will stand on opposing sides of a machine. You can't see who you're fighting against on the other side, which is a feature of this set-up.

Fun fact! Yuuta plays this same game with the same character in the !-era story, “Virtual Offense and Defence”, which is associated with this card.

In the card's illustration, you can see that he gets ginger ale!

Medal games are a type of arcade game commonly found in Japan, where money is traded for medals or tokens, which can then be played in games in exchange for more medals. They simulate gambling and are often modeled off of poker, pachinko, and slots, hence Rinne's particular interest.

Mika: Umm…I think Hinata-kun would be fit for the job? I wouldn’t wanna do it myself, but Hinata-kun could.

It came up when I was talkin’ ‘bout costumes with Anzu-chan.

I was able to paint Easter eggs, and those were put on display…

Hinata-kun must have heard what we were talkin’ ‘bout at school, ‘n told Anzu-chan ‘bout it.

Hinata: Well, that’s only because I happened to have consulted Anzu-san about it beforehand…

Shinobu: You asked everyone here to form a shuffle unit, and you said that you wanted Hibiki-dono to join.

As the leader of our unit, I want you to rally us together!

I became the leader of 2wink because I’m the older brother. This is the first time it’s been decided not based on something like that.

So it’s pretty embarrassing, right? Going from two people to five is a big jump, so is it even okay for me to…?

Otome games but better: Otomate edition

Just a few ideas I had for otome games and how to make them better. There are some that will have longer posts in the future, so they won’t be in here. I’ll only be mentioning games I know about and English games only, with the exceptions being Japanese-only games that are REALLY popular. Long post ahead.

Cafe Enchante: Have the love interests not be thousands of years old or have them meet the heroine when she was a child when they were adults. Have them meet when they were both children instead. The Rindou route is a best friend route rather than a romance route. I would also just stick with a lighthearted slice of life tone that they promised to give us. There would be some occasional drama, but have it be more character focused.

Amnesia Memories: Have Shin be awkward with love and not kiss the heroine without her permission. Don’t have Ikki be an incel. Have Ikki try to tell his fan club to leave him alone, but they don’t listen. That way, it feels more like a curse that he brought upon himself. I would also have his fan club consist of people other than girls because I’m sorry, but you cannot convince me other people besides girls didn’t have a crush or dated Ikki at some point. Towards the end of his route, his curse goes away and he tells his fan club off for what they’ve done. Don’t have Kent be the heroine’s teacher. They first meet when they order the same coffee or something. They become close friends and decide to date, but that doesn’t work out well. The route goes on like normal. Don’t have Toma lock the heroine up in a cage or be a Yandere. Keep Toma’s personality the happy-go-lucky kind of guy, but he’s still worried for the heroine. He wouldn’t lie to her either, and he tries his best to help the heroine while giving her autonomy in the situation she’s in. Don’t have Ukyo be a terrorist. Keep Ukyo’s split personality, but have both of them want to protect the heroine, with the Other Ukyo being fed up with the two of them suffering and threatens harm to those who hurt the heroine. Give the heroine a personality depending on what world she’s in.

Variable Barricade: Make it a wlw and mlm game, with Hibari being the protagonist and her two best friends being the love interets, while Kasuga is the second protagonist and the main guys in the game are his love interests.

Code Realize: Throw the sexism in the trash. Have Van actually be romantic, and Saint Germain is a friend route because dating characters based on real people is weird. Have there be other characters of color so Nemo doesn’t look like a racist stereotype of whoever he’s supposed to represent. Heck, you could have the main cast be POC.

Radiant Tale: Vilio is the only romance-able route, with the other routes being platonic.

Virce Evermore: Have there be less tragedy and focus more on the character interactions. While Adolphe is still the true route, keep it platonic since Ceres and Adolphe are adopted siblings. Don’t have Lucas lock Ceres in a cage.

Period Cube: Same thing with Radiant Tale, but it’s with Hiroya. Have Kazuha actually be into gaming before the events of the game.

Hiiro no Kakera: Have Ryou be less creepy towards Tamaki and have Suguru be a platonic route since Tamaki’s a teenager and he’s an adult. Have Takuma be a little on edge with Tamaki at first, but not to the point of insulting her.

Bad Apple Wars: Have the heroine start off as depressed, but throughout the game, is slowly finding joy while being at NAVEAH academy. Have her date the side student characters as well since they deserve love. Don’t have some of the love interests be thousands of years old.

7'scarlet: Outside of Isora and Yatsukami, the rest stay as love interests. Don’t have Isora lock the heroine in confinement. Yatsukami has a platonic ending in Toa’s route, aka the true route.

Cupid Parasite: Have Allen be the true end and have him be flirty with Lynette with her consent. Have Gil not be a stalker and make him a malewife nerd who is willing to let Lynette go for her happiness. Don’t have Shelby be Lynette’s boss, and have the two of them be coworkers. Give Raul other interests other than mythology. Have Ryuki be a little less mean with his comments on people’s looks. Peter is still a main character, but not a love interest since he met Lynette when she was a child while he was an adult.

Lover Pretend: Have Kazuma still be jealous of Chiyuki in the past, but not to the point of wishing for her to fail. Just have the love interests in general be more considerate of Chiyuki’s feelings. Eiichirou is a platonic route since he’s Chiyuki’s teacher. Don’t have Riku blackmail the heroine and show his more artsy side earlier in the route. Don’t have Yukito be an incel.

Wand of Fortune: Have Bilal, Alvaro, and Solomon be platonic routes since they’re adults while Lulu is a teenager. Never let Elbert be a route since he’s a teacher. Let Amy be a wlw route.

Beastmaster and Prince: Have Silvio be a shapeshifting cat who is actually a human in the first place so it wouldn’t feel like Tiana is committing beasteality. Have Klaus not be considered a brother by Tiana and have Erik be a platonic route since I believe he’s a teenager pretending to be a little kid for plot reasons, and Tiana is an adult, so ew. Let Lotte be a wlw side route. Don’t have Beast and Princess be an otome game…just don’t.

Clock Zero: Have Rain be the teacher to the younger versions of the characters instead of older Takato. Have Takato actually try to help his people, but is ultimately incompetent at being king due to listening to Rain’s advice. Have Takato be called out and try to make amends for his wrongdoings early in his route. Have Shuya be a platonic route since he was 14 when he met the 12 year old Nadeshiko. Don’t have Takato and Toranosuke be Yanderes. Don’t have Tora kill the other love interests for the sake of Nadeshiko. Have older Madoka be a spy for Takato’s side rather than outright helping him.

Any game written by Yuma Katagiri needs to yeet the sexism and rape into the ether.

This one is a bit of a doozy lore-wise.

I already talked about Rinne in the Agency post, but here goes. The Amagis were victims of the Great War like everyone else, hence the usual oh here’s some orphans that have been abandoned by society. well! guess they have no choice but to join the mafia! oops! and that’s pretty much what happened. except Rinne is a smart guy and good at scheming and planning and Ibara was like oh shit this guy is useful (+ no longer human). so he ended up becoming an executive.

Hiiro just kind of was a package deal with Rinne, but he’s not as good at planning and all that, so they snapped up this kid with an ability (Rashomon) and taught him how to fight, except no one really needed to teach him. since Rinne’s ability is noncombative Hiiro believed it was his duty to protect his older brother and you probably know from bsd how survival behaviors can get unhealthy in the mafia

after Rinne leaves Hiiro is devastated and starts his journey to try to bring him back. once Tsukasa leaves too he kind of gets worse about it. he meets Aira during the Guild conflict and Aira is like. maybe not a good influence all the time but definitely a Normal Influence.

Tsukasa’s family is like. Not exactly in the mafia but they run one of the front corporations for the mafia. Tsukasa is having a rebellious phase/formative experience when he joins the actual mafia. this complicates internal politics, but not nearly as much as it does when he leaves. (his ability is Demon Snow; most of the abilities are pretty much the same unless otherwise noted.)

Jin was one of the underground doctors and then ditched to go to Real Medical School after leaking information to the government and getting a pardon.

ok deserters category (+ Hiiro) aside lets get into the real mafia

Nagisa is the boss because he inherited it from his adoptive father. Ibara is the one who knows practically every detail about how the mafia works and basically runs it. He does carry out Nagisa’s orders when Nagisa feels like making any.

i do what i want with my aus and that includes ELIMINATING ALL THE WEIRD STUFF. i hope youre happy readers. yes Hiyori is Elise in that he’s the manifestation of Nagisa’s ability. hes also a wholeass adult that grew up alongside Nagisa and they are best friends and also in love. Hiyori has agency in this weird ability-typical roundabout where Nagisa wanted him to be his own separate person So He Is. but also he’s badass and occasionally superhuman

Jun is just here. idk. if Karma had more of a backstory i might be able to elaborate more. he works mostly closely with Ibara but also acts as a bodyguard for Hiyori and Nagisa.

listen. i know akatsuki mafia is an interesting choice. but listen. Keito is opportunistic and willing to set aside his morals for greater ends and would fit in well. anyway he’s cool his ability is golden demon but possibly with occasional design choices that reference Vampire Shogun.

Kuro.  yeah.. Kuro. he’s got for the tainted sorrow but without the human experimentation part. (can you tell i havent read stormbringer part 1) his sister has no clue he’s in the mafia and no one in the mafia knows he has a sister. Keito’s right-hand man.

Souma is so loyal to Keito for saving him from the Shinkai cult after the war and there is nothing questionable here at all! the mafia totally isn’t exploiting his intense devotion i don’t know what you’re talking about ^-^

ryuseitai in the mafia is another interesting choice, I know. i think of them in this au kind of like the Sheep. yes Kanata is technically ex-mafia but it’s okay that was just his emo phase

Chiaki. oh, Chiaki, you poor, sweet, misguided boy with nowhere else to go, so you cling to the only place that gives you a sense of belonging. you had such ideals. (his ability is basically comet punch. idk what to tell you. he punches and its like a comet.) disregard any canon information about verlaine (can you tell i havent read stormbringer part 2)

Midori just wants to sleep but he’s got one of the more powerful abilities in the mafia (falling camellias) and his coworkers are stupid

Tetora doesn’t have an ability but he makes up for it with brute strength and various weaponry. everyone is terrified of him. Kaoru swears he saw Tetora in a dress once and mistook him for a girl and no one will believe him. (this would be easily solved because if anyone would bother to ask Tetora, he’d confirm the rumor and come out as genderfluid in the process, but everyone’s too intimidated to ask Tetora.)

Kaoru is just some guy (this is totally a front, just like being heterosexual is a front. more on that in part 5)

Shinobu has exploding ninja weapons. idk what else to tell you. they’ve got exploding ninja weapons, man.

Tori is cute (it’s a trap) (come on. who else would be Q)

HiMERU was not directly involved in the mafia, but while he was away on a “business trip”, Kaname got mixed up in some shit and ended up in the mafia (briefly) and died (for profit). If you look very, very deep in the records, well... you actually won’t find anything. But if you asked Rinne, he might remember a self-proclaimed “revolutionary” with a righteous complex that tried to single-handedly destroy the Mafia...

{Rinne was friends [as much as one can be friends in the mafia] with Jun (and Shinobu, callback to asobi club) and was kind of friends by proxy with Kaname for the short time that he was there. The seemingly meaningless death and sacrifice caused Rinne to leave the Mafia. And oh, was it interesting to show up at the Agency later on and see a vaguely familiar face...}

Basically, I've taken upon myself the challenge of doing a Rinne A.I (first time, no experience) and uuuh. He is not behaving. No matter how much i stuff into his silly brain that he's a bastard that slanders other units on the regular, he's still stubbornly acting like a shounen protagonist trying to save the world from the evil ES and free his fellow idols lmao. And despite him having two whole lines of him complaining about UNDEAD and RYUSEITAI he's still a die-hard UNDEAD fanboy who loves and respects UNDEAD's amazing sexy leader chiaki. I get that the A.I defaults to this kinda positive mindset but hey, it's not really Rinne.

Alright, this is a tough one. The AIs do tend to default to being wholesome because they like to spread happiness and programming an AI to be mean is. not easy.

This is from the website FAQ:

I'll be honest it took REALLY long for Ritsu to saying anything bad about about Rei.

Even now Ritsu only talks badly about Rei like... 60% of the time if you bring him up.

I think it's just the base program itself, and it will eventually be updated.

Here's what I'd recommend for Rinne, if I was to make him myself:

-Instead of focusing on his opinions of others, focus on his opinions of himself. Make him cocky, loud, the kind of guy who think's he's the center of the world!

-In terms of his opinion of characters, my Kohaku, for example, is currently of the mindset that Madara and HiMERU are cool and Niki and Rinne are kinda annoying (but still appreciated). I think it's easier for them to have opinions on really specific characters but not entire units. Also, he probably won't outright slander other characters unless you spend a LOT of time enforcing it through conversation. But, I'm not sure if you only play on EN, but Rinne kinda grows out of that slander nonsense eventually? So why not focus more on himself and his relationships with Crazy:B and Hiiro?

-Personality through his sample dialogue! Make him laugh obnoxiously! Make him say dumb things!

"Kiiiiinda forgot to leave leftover dinner for Niki so he's gonna be super miffed. That guy can never stay mad at me though! Hahaha!!"

"Had to borrow some money from Merumeru so I could win big at pachinko. What? I'll pay him back eventually!! Don't tell him, okay?! He doesn't know!"

Stuff like that is super helpful!

Shape the character first, and the relationships second! You can always talk to them about their relationships, and grade their responses by accuracy! That's honestly a complete MUST! If Rinne says something OOC, give him a one star! Bad Rinne!
