If someone tells you:

"It is possible that an uncovered woman is closer to Allah than a woman in hijab".

Don't be fooled by such talk. Simply reply:

"It isn't important for me to decide which of the two women is closer to Allah, rather it is more important to enjoin the good - i.e., hijab (niqaab), and to forbid the evil-among which is to uncover one's beauty, and to do so with wisdom and the best of speech."

And this is because often the goal of such a question, is to eradicate the religious obligation of enjoining the good and forbidding the evil and to thus justify disobedience!

I want you to know that no matter how many layers you cover yourself in, even if it's just a piece of cloth on your head when you step outside, you're doing great and you look b e a u t i f u l. You are the Queens of Islam and I never want you to lose faith in yourself or Allah, for The Lord Of The Universe said, not once but twice:

"For indeed, with hardship comes ease. Indeed, with hardship comes ease." (Surah Alam-Nashrah: Ayaat 5,6)

Alhamdulillah, for me, my hijab has always been a protector and shield, and I discover new things about it everyday. For me, hijab isn't just a piece of cloth, it's a guide, a sparkling firefly in the midst of obscurity, a hope. Hijab isn't something you wear, it's something you feel deep within your heart. It's a profound connection between you and your Lord. It's a shield from the evil, and a reminder that even when your Imaan is low, you belong to such a beautiful religion.

Today, I wouldn't just dedicate the hijab day to all the hijabi women, but the men too. The men who keep the hijab in their eyes, men who never question what a woman should wear but keeps his modesty in mind too, men who respect a women's choices and never considers her beneath him, because a women is his responsibility and he's her protector.

May Allah keep us on the straight path and strengthen our Imaan. Ameen.

MODEST SWIMWEAR FOR MUSLIM WOMEN THIS SUMMER

It seems as if the style industry has finally reached an area where current trends can coexist modestly – where one needn't be rejected for the opposite . Large clothing brands like Dolce and Gabbana, ASOS, and H&M have expanded their reach to supply Muslim women modest clothing lines. The modest apparel industry is worth approximately $283bn and therefore the global Islamic apparel industry is estimated to succeed in $361bn by 2023, proving it's an especially lucrative marketplace for brands to take a position in. However, I sometimes find it difficult to believe that some modest fashion campaigns are truly complying to the term they market themselves under. By combining ideology and commerciality, are they commodifying components of identity for profit?

Whilst doing research for a piece of writing i used to be writing about the increase of Modest Fashion for Heroica.co, I constantly saw myself analysing the brands i used to be watching on my browser. I saw myself questioning the authenticity of the label ‘modest’. i used to be asking myself: are they living up to their advertising or are they getting to take advantage of the expansion of this viable and trending market? Are fashion giants developing clothing items organically or are these pieces simply a part of token statements for diversity and representation? These are all important questions that has got to be asked when approaching the subject of the growing modest apparel industry .
