The first time they noticed how protective Pac was was when they were cooking. It was an accident. A slip of Fit's hand and the knife was being fumbled in his hand. 

"Ouch," he hissed as the blood trickled down his palm. 

Tubbo saw the change in Pac instantly. The way his eyes widened, his pupils darkening as his fangs pushed past his lips. Pac rushed over, grabbing a band aid as he did. Cradling Fit's hand gently, he licked the blood gently off the other man's hand while Fit and Tubbo watched curiously. He laid down the band aid with a sealing kiss. 

Only Tubbo noticed how possessive he turned afterwards. How he seemed to fawn over Fit's every move to try and prevent him from getting hurt in any capacity. While Fit was opening the oven, Tubbo grabbed Pac by the arm and pulled him close. “You're being so protective,” he teased as Pac flushed. 

“I just care about you guys, okay?” 

“Yeah, okay, bossman.”

Pac huffed. “I'm serious.” 

“Yeah, okay. It's totally not some weird ass vampire instinct shit that tells you to protect us from everything.” 

“Cale-se.”

He was nearly unbearable when the men were on their periods. Something about being able to smell the blood coming out of them made him feral as a dog. They had to get used to being wrapped up in blankets while Pac ran around trying to pamper them as much as humanly possible. 

Their friends learned to stay away very quickly. When Pac was deep in his instincts he was a kill first, ask questions later type of guy. After two near attacks, everyone knew to stay far far away if they smelled blood coming from the house. 

“Part of me is sad they don't try and come around,” Tubbo whispered to Fit the moment Pac left the room. They were curled up in bed together pretending they were annoyed at the pampering but loving it. 

“Why?” Fit asked, squinting at him. 

“Hot.” 

He laughed, open and honest. 

The door cracked open and Pac stuck his head in with slitted eyes. “I heard that.” 

Tubbo rolled his eyes. “Oh so I'm not allowed to call you hot now? Wowwwww, I see how it is.” The next moment he was bending over in pain and Pac was rushing over to bring him a new hot pad. 

“Now, now, now, you see what happens when you bitch at me. Take the coddling. Rest.” 

Tubbo rolled his eyes but he was smiling. “Yes, sir,” he said with a mocking salute. “Just don't rip anyone to shreds without us. I want something to drool over.”

so yes, like they've been fed this idea that victors should be happy because they love opulent lifestyles, have their own tv segments, are so beloved and finnick has very much played into this capitol darling image. so that idea cracks when reader plays the part in public for parties and for the media, but she's completely hollow in day to day life. so they realize that it's not really what they're told, there's a much darker side to winning that hidden that they know better than to ask about or be curious about. so they learn from finnick what they can do to support her and slowly push themselves back into her life and help her open up.

she works hard the whole dinner to not put on a persona, to just be herself and it's hard for her. she's anxious, nervous and it's obvious. beckett's jokes don't land, she adds little to the gossip him and tallulah bring, some nods and sometimes she forces our small things that add to story or commentary. it's enough for them to believe there's hope and that she just needs more support. after they leave she sits at the table still, head buried in be hands.

"they hate me, I wish I was the person I was before."

he's shaking his head ferverously, taking her hands in his. "no they don't. you did so good sweet girl, so proud of you."

he absolutely gets emotional watching her in a gorgeous bridesmaids dress, walking in the precession, makes him want to give the same thing to her. especially when she's told him about the whole process and made small mentions of what she likes versus doesn't, so he's got wedding things completely down for them. although he's anxious about asking, he's nervous he'll scare her off and about her mental stability. so he holds it off and as we know he waits too long.

The way you write Joel, Ellie, Reader, and all of the other characters is SUCH a breath of fresh air.

I read A LOT of Joel fanfiction. (am i allowed to say that? 😭😆)

But your writing hooked me from the very beginning of the series, to the point where if I fic that resembles the way you write even the slightest, it prompts me to reread your entire series. 🤦🏽‍♀️💋

The slowburn, the fact that they don’t label what they are but they both know DAMN well it’s something other than fuck buddies, and the character development is just UGHHH 🤭

I know it may sound redundant or repetitive but it really is just that. Sometimes I’ll reread your stories multiple times to really capture the emotion or the characterization in your writing. Your world building and the development of each character along with them having their own personal world—literally wouldn’t choose anything over your writing and storytelling.

All this to say, your writing has really captured me. And whether you continue writing on here for the next couple years or stop completely, I want you to know that your writing has a special place in my heart. (and my brain because i cant stop making head cannons of feral reader and joel 😫)

Oh my gosh I’m crying 😭 you’re so incredibly sweet and I’m just so thankful people like my stories and my writing 🖤 I felt for a long time like my stuff just wasn’t good since it just hardly got feedback and everything so hearing everyone’s responses have been so soothing to me!

So my last day at my day job was this Monday so I am officially a full time artist/creative director! I’m so stressed 😂🥹 But I got to hire 12 local artists for our new business yesterday and today we ripped up carpet and are scraping glue. Its so odd and nice to have more of my own schedule but there’s so much work to do. I’m hoping soon I’ll be able to balance it so I can have time to myself and can actually write and draw!
