Celebrating Snoggletog with them
ft. hiccup, tuffnut, eret, snotlout, astrid, ruffnut
Tumblr media
⤷ Hiccup
Hiccup would be very excited. He would wake you up with soft kisses, then he would make you breakfast and then you two would spend whole day together doing lots of different things. Like riding your dragons, snow war, building a snowman and decorating your own small tree in your common house. You would make a hot chocolate together and after that you would go ice skating. But Hiccup don't know how to do it so you would have to teach him. Which would be lots of fun! Hiccup would made a special gift for you and he spend almost six months on it.
⤷ Tuffnut
Tuff would be excited as well. He would wake you up by him singing some Snoggletog/Christmas songs. He would try to make a hot chocolate or some cookies, but he would fail. So he ask you for help which you accepted with a smile, because he did a puppy eyes on you. Then he would want to attack his sister with snow balls so he starts a snow war and surprisingly you two win. Tuff isn't one of the creative people so he tried so hard to think about special gift for you. But he probably asked Ruff for help.
⤷ Eret
Eret never really celebrate Snoggletog so I can say it was his first. And what made him more happy was that he could spend it with you. You would have to show him everything. So you two made hot chocolate and snowman. Then you went on a walk around whole Berk. Eret would ask you on lots of question like why does vikings decorating this big wooden tree and much more. Only thing he knew about Snoggletog was that you are giving and reciving gifts. So he made you something from wood.
⤷ Snotlout
Snotlout was trying all day to impress you but all he did was embarrassed himself. But it was very cute see him try. Hookfang also had a lots of fun, because he teased Snotlout and made him fail in his many attempts to impress you. But one of the things Snotlout enjoyed the most was when he gave you his gift for you. He saw small sparkles in your eyes and how happy you was. He swear himself that day, he's gonna do everything to make you smile and keep you happy.
⤷ Astrid
Astrid would make yaknog ofc! But she wanted your real opinion, because she hates when you lie to her. So when you told her it wasn't good she was little sad, but then you decided to do a small changes on it that she was happy to help you with. And after that it was very delicious. So you decided to go to everyone and serve them yaknog 0.2 and everybody loves it. She would made you a gift as well and it was one of the best gifts.
⤷ Ruffnut
Ruff would want to build a snowman with you. Like whole snowman family and after that she would want to play a snow war which we already know that she lose to Tuff. And that made her little pissed so you had to comfort her mostly with kisses and hugs. After that she would want to bake something and she doesn't care what it is. Then she would want to prank all of her friends. She just want to a lots of things with you. Her gift would be with something you love the most.

hi!!! could I please request Reader x snotlout relationship headcanons? Possibly them being opposites on the surface but actually being similar in a way? Like they both feel things very strongly
This took me a little while longer to write, since I didn't really pay that much attention to snotlout throughout the three main movies that I watched 😔
But! I didn't want to leave your request unanswered and wrote it :)
Sorry if it isn't completely accurate. If you have any tips leave them in my inbox or send them through private messages :)
Some key words:
-D/n = Dragon's name
Tumblr media
Alright, let's start off with the basics. You probably met through a mutual friend
*cough* *cough* Astrid *cough*
And he at first didn't get your whole get up. I mean, you were vikings!
Whilst he acted (somewhat) reckless and seemed to shift to this supposed 'playboy' persona of some sort (although that persona really wasn't accurate..)
While you were on the calmer side, closed off and anly speaking to people when needed
He found it a tad bit annoying
I mean- you're vikings! You're supposed to be reckless! Yet you were- not?
Well, at least in his eyes you weren't
After a little while, you started to open up a bit more. Still not having that reckless and uncaring persona vikings had, but being the usual self just more... Outgoing? If you could call it that
But, Snotlout paid no mind. He was too busy looking our for his own image to care
I think the first time he noticed something about you that intrigued him was when you first made friends with the dragons
Snotlout trudged through the grass, an over exaggerated groan echoing through the island as he carried food for his dragon, Hookfang
While he walked, he couldn't help but overhear a seemingly onesided conversation, in which a familiar voice was involved
"We're gonna be the best, D/n!" A voice, which could only belong to Y/n, encouraged. Snotlout smirked as he walked towards the sound, peaking from the corner to spot the dragon rider scratching their dragons head
"We're gonna win this race! Promise." Y/n chuckled, patting their dragons head twice before mounting onto them
"That's quite a big promise there, Y/n. Are you sure you'll live up to it?" Snotlout butted in, mockingly smirking at them as he waited for their response
Y/n looked him up and down, smirking lightly themselves as they sighed
"Seeing how you and your dragon act together, I'd say I've got better chances." They sighed, pulling their dragons head upward lightly to send them into flight
Snotlout only glared as they flew away, but he couldn't help but feel something forming in his chest. Admiration? No, that can't be it...
Maybe respect?
From that point on, each time the two of you interacted, Snotlout gained more and more respect for you, which eventually turned into a crush
He was so obvious about it
Like he did with Ruffnut, he constantly flirted and did small favour's for you. Either getting the sheep for you to win the race or tightening up a know that you definitely didn't need his help with
And to your oblivious eyes, you just though it was playful teasing and friendly interactions. Oh... Poor you
You'd sometimes play into his flirting. Giving him a few fake compliments and teasing remarks back, which only worsened his crush
The more he hung out with you, the more he realized how many characteristics you two shared!
Yes, on the outside you acted completely opposite, like I had mentioned in the begging
But, you both had this urging courage that propelled you forward, you both needed praise and attention from the ones you loved. But, while snotlout was more outward in showing these emotions, constantly complaining that is; you'd more often than not just keep to yourself, giving the person small hints but never outwardly saying it
Okay, let's start with the actual relationship headcanons:
I think he'd be the type to show you off. Like: "hell yeah they're my partner! You wanna say something about it?????"
Love language is definitely 'words of affirmation'
My guy is in constant need of praise 😭
Doesn't mean he doesn't praise you tho. You're constantly receiving words of encouragement and praise; but he'll stop praising you as soon as you stop praising him (like that's ever going to happen)
Is really into pda but also not that into pda if that makes sense? Yes, he'll wrap an arm around your shoulders, kiss the top of your head, even peck your lips every once in a while. But there is no way in hell he'll actually make out with you in public! Nu-uh, that's for you and him only
I can't really think of anything else... So I'm gonna leave it here for now :)
Sorry for the huge delay on the posting! If you have any other requests please leave them in!

Man your work is great :D could you do Astrid hiccup tuffnut ruffnut and snotlout with a small jolly reader(4 feet tall) that riders screaming death or a titan wing catastrophic quaken.(I just like the this short joyful person next a GIANT creature that looks like it squash you like a bug it's just a bit funny to me XD)
Astrid, hiccup, the twins(separately) and snotlout x reader who’s a short ball of joy and rides a screaming death
Decided to do screaming death cus I love them
<<WARNINGS:abit of angst,snotlout not likeing spitelout,mentions of injuries(dragons mainly),snotlout needs a hug,spelling errors probally>>can you tell I don’t know how to do warnings?
HAS BEEN PROOF-READ
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Astrid
She is absolutely stunned
Your so tiny.and yet you managed to tame the screaming death
She nearly had a heart attack the first time stormfly and the screaming death play fought, she still nearly dose after she gets used to them
She knows your screaming death won’t hurt stormfly, but as the good dragon rider she is she gets worried for her dragon
She may not admit it but she’s extremely cocky over the fact that one of the dragon riders on their side managed to tame the screaming death, with is defiantly no easy feat 💀
She genuinely questions you on how on earth you managed to tame the screaming death
She’s amused by the size difference between you and your dragon
Little ball of joy and a island destroying demon/pos
Due to your small size she can easily pick you up
She picks you up under your arms and you can only dangle there
You’ll just have to hope your screaming death is feeling nice and might scare Astrid to put you down
Don’t think you being small is all fun though.
Is stormfly is particularly pissed off by the screaming death she will pick you up by the scruff of the neck and run/fly off with you
A chase will ensue, that may or may not have to end up with hiccup and/or having to sort it out
She admires how you can stay so sweet and joyful
She may or may not admit it but she adores your personality,in hard times you can seem like a bright light in a endlessly dark hallway, and she couldn’t be more grateful
Tumblr media
Hiccup
Also nearly has a heart attack
The screaming death defiantly had some bad blood with him and toothless
But with you,it’s like a big cat/dog and almost completely docile
How?
Ok well maybe the fact that he made the screaming death plummet face first into a rock wouldn’t help
Your tinny compared to hiccup and even tinier compared to the screaming death
He worries that you may become a large target for dragon hunters
Toothless and the screaming death, don’t exactly get along
I mean years of hatred and bad blood isn’t going to fix easily…
But the you and hiccup will find them curled up together
You don’t understand them but that’s ok
He asks if he can examine the screaming death,or maybe ride it.riding is a less likely option though 💀
He will wince or cringe if he sees any scars or damage he may have caused
He can relate to you being positive and joyful alot
But can also be abit jealous, how can you stay so joyful even in some of the most stressfull situations
He’s so unimaginabley grateful that your there for him during the entire time
You decrease his stress tones
It also feels like a weight off of his shoulders with the burden of having such a great relationship with a endangered and powerful dragon, you’ll stick together and get through it though
He also picks you up,and makes fun of your height.
Tumblr media
Ruffnut
Probally one of the only ones who dosnt almost have a heart attack
If anything she’s jealous that you managed to tame such a cool and destructive dragon
Begs asks if she can have a ride just one please?
Will try everything and anything with the screaming death
You will need to supervise 24/7 sorry not sorry
She brags about you all the time
She loves your short size and will toss you over her shoulder/hold you like a log
She’s teases you about your size WAY to much, please tell her to put a sock in it T.T
Barf, belch and the screaming death become the faces of Loki day
Barf and belches personality might have slightly affected your dragon but oh well
Loves to cause distruction with you
If you don’t go on a mission she’s not going either, even if tuffnut begs.
She enjoys your joyful personality and loves that there’s someone that slightly carefree
She also feels like she can be more reckless now that there’s a island destroying dragon on the riders team
You will have to keep an eye on her,or lecture her.either works
Will Loki you hard, unless the screaming death is around.she dosnt want to become 🧀 today thanks
Tumblr media
Tuffnut
Also dosnt get a heart attack
Instead he gets destructive zoomies
He begs you, like hands and knees and everything
For one chance to either ride or cause destruction with the screaming death
Jokes on you though if you say yes to either, the other will happen anyways.there’s no winning in this situation sorry
Surprisingly knows when to give the screaming death space
He’s reckless but sensible
Will bribe the screaming death to go on destructive trips constantly
He makes fun of your height, more than ruffnut
Chiken and the screaming death surprisingly get along the best, unlikely but wholesome friendship for the win
Chiken by proxy loves you a lot aswell
So if tuffnut loses chiken he checks you and the screaming death basically first
Somehow carries around a stall with him so you can get to high places when need be
Will kick ruffnut off barf and belch for a ride if you asked
Man Is whipped for you
Don’t leave tuffnut alone with the screaming death though, either he or someone else will die
He at some point becomes something of a second rider to the screaming death,it’s a lot of bribing and treats though and also the fact that he encourages the screaming deaths destructive tendencies
He likes your joyful ness, will also try to bribe you to help him get out of situations he gets himself into
Tumblr media
Snotlout
Probally faints during first encounter
Is very worried for everyone’s saftey,it’s a similar situation as to when they took in the injured singetail
Complains a lot about the fact that allowed to bring the SCREAMING DEATH to berk/the edge
He admires you Aton
Your short, shorter then him and look at you go!
Gets a bit jealous of you and may think he’s not good enough
Give him a hug :(
One time during the longest day he ended up snuggling against the screaming death, and survived.after that day they grew abit closer which was sweet
He enjoys your optimism and it’s a good balance since he can be abit pessimistic sometimes
If his dad ever comes to visit and your around he finds himself gravitating towards you,he feels safe with you
Hook fang and the screaming death like tug of war.why?,who knows
They like to play catch with each other aswell, again no idea why
He asks if you want to ride with him and hookfang quite a lot,it’s his way of non verbally getting recognition and validation
He finds himself being a lot less pessimistic when your around and just in general, your jolly personality is infective and effective
He likes to just hug you when he’s feeling down of tired
He picks you up places you in places where you can’t get down easily
He pisses off the screaming death.quite a lot
He likes writing books for you and indulging in your hobbies aswell
Shows you off a ton,as long as you don’t mind though,he doesn’t want to make you uncomfortable
He likes knitting things for you
He also likes it when you both are in the same room, you can be doing something different or even just being quiet,as long as your there he doesn’t mind
He likes to spar alot aswell, but he never lets it get to the point where either of you get hurt
He’s very protective of you despite the fact he dosnt really need to be
He just cares alot

They were asking Odin to give them a partner, and you fell into his arms
(you were in a high place and fell from there)
Tumblr media
Hiccup
° Hiccup was looking at the sky and asked Odin to find him a partner, not even a second passed and Hiccup saw a black spot in the sky and automatically opened his arms and you fell into their arms.
°He was surprised that his prayers had actually come true (and so quickly), but he wasn't complaining.
"well… hello, what would your name be".
Astrid
° Astrid felt like an idiot for doing this but she swallowed her pride and looked up at the sky and asked Odin for her to date someone. She closed her eyes and when she opened them you fell into her arms.
° Astrid was quite surprised and stared at you for a long time.
"damn, it really worked".
Fishlegs
° Fishlegs was looking at the sky desperate for some sign but after a while he started to lose hope and suddenly he sees a black spot in the sky falling towards him, Fishlegs quickly opens his arms and you fall into his arms.
° When you fell, Fishlegs' eyes shone and he smiled, Fishlegs didn't believe that his wish had really been fulfilled.
"oh, hello, I-I'm Fishlegs."
Snotlout
° Snotlout was a little desperate for a partner so he looked at the sky and closed his eyes and asked Odin for a partner, some time passed and Snotlout ended up getting impatient and angry and started cursing Odin, between curses you suddenly fell in his arms.
° at the same moment you fell into Snotlout's arms he shut up and stared at you and admired your beauty for a while until he looked up at the sky and thanked Odin.
"Thanks you Odin".
Tuffnut / Ruffnut
(sorry can't come up with ideas for them).

Roars And Rose Petals
Pairing: Hiccup 'Horrendous’ Haddock III x fem!reader
Word count: 3.2k
Warnings: Graphic description of violence
Summary: After a mission involving sinking dragon hunter ships and freeing any trapped dragons on board goes wrong and one of the dragon riders is left injured, Hiccup tries to make sure (Y/N) gets the proper rest she deserves with much resistance on her part of course.
A/N: For the sake of this story your dragon is going to be female. The name or species is up to you though. I'm not sure how I feel about this one-shot overall. When I first started working on it I think I started it out strong but the further along it went the more I feel as if I lost sight of the one-shot. Hope you enjoy tho :)
(Y/N): Your name
(H/C): Hair colour
(D/N): Dragon's name
(D/S): Dragon species
*Gif does not belong to me
Tumblr media
(Y/N)'s hands tightened around the edge of (D/N)'s saddle. She lowered her chest to the point she was almost laying flat on (D/N)'s back as they began to dive through the rows of boats sitting on the water's edge. Jutting an arm out in front of her and (D/N)'s head, (Y/N) called out, "Come on girl, let's sink them before they sink us."
A gargled response was announced from below (Y/N) before a beam of flames was shot towards one of the boats. A chorus of strangled-out cries filled the air as (D/N)'s head turned and the flames they were emitting fell to another ship, tearing through the deck and leaving smouldering wood. A gentle pat hit the side of (D/N)'s neck, silent encouragement once the flames ceased.
"(Y/N), more help is needed on the other side of the armada," Astrid called out from Stormflys back, passing by (Y/N) and (D/N) on her own way over to meet Snotlout and Fishlegs. By the sound of it--or lack of it--Hiccup and the twins seemed to be doing just fine.
"On it!" (Y/N) called after the blonde, turning (D/N)'s so they could follow after the Deadlynadder. "Come on (D/N)," (Y/N) muttered, "Just a few more ships and then we can go home and relax for the rest of the week. I promise I won't let Hiccup rope us into any more missions or training exercises."
A pleased rumble left (D/N)'s chest at the same time as a bemused yell left Hiccup. "Hey!" He had called, grinning over at (Y/N) before diving out of the way of some dragon root-laced arrows. (Y/N) chuckled, shaking her head as she focused back on the task at hand, eyes locking on where Astrid and Stormfly had disappeared to.
Without warning, a metallic chain was shot their way. "Quickly (D/N), up. Up!" (Y/N) screeched at the sight of the hooked weapon.
(D/N) let out a bellowing screech as she tried to shoot up, wings snapping out. She wasn't quick enough however as the chain wrapped around (D/N)'s right wing, pulling the (D/S) wing taut with the hook digging into the underside of her wing. A cry escaped from (D/N)'s throat, shaking (Y/N) as their bodies jolted with the pull of the chain.
"Steady (D/N)," (Y/N) attempted to say, hands tightening once more on (D/N)'s saddle as her (H/C) whipped around her head, the wind picking up and throwing her hair around. (D/N) seemed immune to (Y/N)'s words as her left-wing rapidly shot up and down.
Growing more erratic with every passing second, (D/N) started to shake rapidly, trying to throw the chain off her. In her attempt to loosen the chain from her right wing, (D/N) also began to jostle (Y/N) from her back.
"(D/N), no!" (Y/N) shouted as she began to fall, slipping from the leather saddle as (D/N) began to crash down hard, being pulled in by the dragon hunter ship. "Someone? Anyone?" (Y/N) tried to call out as gusts of wind slapped against her face. When it became apparent that no one was coming, (Y/N)'s eyes squeezed shut, arms coming forward to cradle her head as she got ready for impact.
Before (Y/N) could hit the crashing sea's surface, a chain identical to the one that had trapped (D/N) wrapped around her waist, snagging one of her arms by her side because of the angle at which she was falling. The hook of the chain tore through (Y/N)'s shirt and dug itself into her side, making her wince as she got whipped through the air and came crashing into the side of the boat.
The tips of her boots scraped against the water's edge as she dangled against the side of the boat momentarily before being pulled up, the rattling of chains filling (Y/N)'s ears as she struggled to free her arms. When she reached the halfway point, she had managed to untangle her arm from her body and the dragon-proof chains. With a soft grunt, (Y/N) brought both hands to the hooked metal that was still lodged into her side. Taking a steadying breath, (Y/N) tried to relax before she abruptly pulled at the hook, ripping it from her skin. A startled cry tore through (Y/N)'s chest but she did her best to muffle the noise.
Keeping the remainder of the chain wrapped around herself, (Y/N) allows herself to be pulled up and over the side of the ship. Only then did she unravel the chain from her waist and fling the hooked edge at the dragon rider that shot and pulled her from the air. The hook hit the hunter with a strangled cry from him before he fell to the ground, weighed down by the heavy metal.
(Y/N) didn't stay put for long after that as she jumped forward onto the boat's deck. Picking up a stray bow from the fallen dragon hunter, she tore an arrow from the quiver still latched to the hip of the man. Aiming the bow and arrow, she didn't hesitate before releasing the arrow on one of the dragon hunters, tearing them from their focus as the arrow buried itself in their shoulder.
The wounded hunter's cry caught the attention of more hunters, pulling them away from the dragons in the sky and to the fallen rider on their ship. (Y/N) tried not to look put off by the many eyes on her. Instead, she readied herself for the onslaught of weapons that were bound to come her way. "Someone grab her!"
Getting another arrow from the hunter's toppled-over body, she aimed it at the nearest dragon hunter, getting ready to shoot it at the first sign of danger. "That's right, come and get me!"
None of the dragon hunters took a step forward and for a second, (Y/N) thought she had successfully warded them off. But when the padded thumps came from behind her and a soft growl began to emit, (Y/N) realised it was a certain dark-scaled dragon that had warned the hunters off. "No one is going to be getting anyone unless it involves getting you out of here."
A smile danced across (Y/N)'s face as Toothless began to stalk forward, his nose scrunched and teeth flashing in a warning. "If it isn't my knight in leather armour," (Y/N) cooed as she lowered her bow and arrow, discarding them to the floor as she stepped towards Hiccup and Toothless.
"Well, I wouldn't say-" Hiccup began to say, cutting himself off as he watched (Y/N) crouch in front of Toothless. "And she was talking to the dragon," He muttered grudgingly.
Trying to conceal a wince as she lowered herself to the ground, (Y/N) scratched the underside of Toothless's chin for a few seconds before raising again, angling herself so Hiccup could see her torn skin, a pool of blood starting to build and soak her shirt. "Don't worry, I didn't forget about you Hiccup," (Y/N) hummed as she lightly dragged her fingers against Hiccup's shoulder, placing herself behind him and on Toothless's back.
"Hold on," Hiccup warned, waiting only a moment as he felt (Y/N) wrap her arms around his waist before he adjusted Toothless's tail and the two of them shot up from the dragon hunters ship, Toothless shooting a plasma blast to the boat deck, both scattering the hunters and tearing through the wooden surface. "Are you ok? Toothless and I tried to get over here as fast as possible once we noticed you and (D/N) weren't in the air anymore."
"I'm fine," (Y/N) seethed through her teeth, trying to keep her voice level as she lied to Hiccup. A soft rumble came from Toothless as he looked back at (Y/N), sensing something Hiccup couldn't. "We need to get (D/N) though. She was taken down before I was."
"Astrid and Snotlout are already on it," Hiccup assured, chancing a glance back at (Y/N) to give her a reassuring smile. But when his gaze landed on her clouded-over eyes his smile instantly dropped. Turning his head back round and lowering himself forward to whisper into Toothless's ear, "Get us out of here bud."
At the increase in Toothless's speed, (Y/N)'s grip tightened around his waist. "No- wait- Hiccup! We can't leave yet. What about (D/N)?" (Y/N) chocked out in a panicked shout, head whipping around to face the ship both Astrid and Snotlout were hovering over a dragon hunters ship, one of (D/N)'s wings sticking straight up as the sound of shouts rung out from said boat.
"Like I said, Astrid and Snotlout will take care of it. Toothless and I are getting you back to the Edge," Hiccup stated, leaving no room for objection.
Against his hopes, however, (Y/N) still attempted to object to him. "I need to be there when (D/N) is retrieved. I'm not going to abandon her with a bunch of dragon hunters to be sold off."
"She won't be alone. Astrid and Snotlout are going to be with her every step of the way," Hiccup's voice took a gentle tilt, one of his hands reaching back to steady (Y/N) on Toothless's back. When his hand came in contact with (Y'N)'s side, a large hiss escaped her, forcing Hiccup to retract his hand quickly and look back at her with a worried glint in his eyes. "Are you sure your okay, (Y/N)? You don't sound too good."
"Hiccup I'm fine," (Y/N) murmured, head still turned so she could face the dragon hunters ship, Watching as Stormfly took out a few hunters with her spines and Hookfang lit himself on fire, a startled screech coming from Snotlout at the sudden heat. As Astrid and Stormfly dived towards the boat deck, (Y/N) turned her head back around before resting her chin on Hiccup's shoulder. "Let's just get back to the Edge."
"At least we're finally on the same page," Hiccup muttered, eyes flickering down to where (Y/N) lay. At the pale complexion of the (H/C) haired girl, he turned back to Toothless and muttered, "Get us out of here Toothless."
The black-scaled dragon let out a light roar before shooting forward, propelling himself as he raised himself further into the air, gliding at level with the clouds. Fishlegs and the twins were ahead of them, flying closer to the water's surface as they had a headstart on getting away from the destroyed fleet on hunting ships.
There was almost a sense of calmness in the skies. If it wasn't for the dreadful silence and the loosening grip of (Y/N) behind him, Hiccup could nearly say it was an enjoyable flight. "Just hang on a little longer (Y/N). It won't be long now."
"I don't know what you're on about, Hiccup," (Y/N) attempted to chuckle, raising her head so she could shake it before dropping her forehead to rest on his shoulder, eyes glancing down ar ger side where she could see her blood-stained shirt sticking to her skin, the red mellowing in with the dark tones of her shirts.
"That's alright," Hiccup said airly, focusing on the sky in front of them.
When Toothless's feet touched down, (Y/N) was instantly on her feet and making her way towards her hut, taking some staggering steps every once in a while as a flare of pain shot through her side. With every step she had to fight back a wince, trying to compose herself as she knew Hiccup's eyes were most likely watching her, sceptical of nothing but she needed to get away from Hiccup so she could fix the gash in her side.
She didn’t get far though before the clicking of Hiccup's metal leg was racing to catch up to her. “Are you sure your okay (Y/N)?” Hiccup asked once he was walking in step with (Y/N). “Ever since the dragon hunters ship there’s been something off about you.”
(Y/N) chanced Hiccup a glance from the corner of her eye, furrowing her brows at the implication. “I don’t know what you want to hear hiccup. I’m fine. I can say it again if that’ll help-“ (Y/N) was cut off as her knees gave out from below her.
Bracing herself for impact, she welcomes the crash that never comes. Instead, she is engulfed by two warm arms. One of Hiccups' hands landed on her gashed side, making (Y/N) jolt upwards in pain. “Oh my gods! I’m so sorry (Y/N),” Hiccup exclaimed as he lifted his hand from your side allowing you to sag in relief as the pain subsided. Hiccup could only feel dread however as he saw the red liquid coating his fingertips. He stopped breathing at the sight of it, the remaining arm wrapped around (Y/N) tightening.
“I promise it’s no big deal Hiccup,” (Y/N) began as she struggled to try and push herself up. “It’s just a small cut. Once I wrap it I’ll be as good as new.”
“Good as new?” Hiccup questioned outraged as all his breath came flooding back into him at the sound of (Y/N)’s voice. “You can barely walk and seem to be losing consciousness by the second. Sorry if I don’t think you'll be able to walk this off like every other mission gone wrong.”
“Have a little faith in me Hiccup,” (Y/N) muttered as Hiccup helped to right her up, both his arms still wrapped securely around her, careful of where his fingers splayed to not bring her any more harm than she had already endured.
"My faith will be restored once we get you patched up."
"I can live with that," (Y/N) agreed, nodding her head sluggishly as she spoke, maybe the blood loss had started to get to her. "Just drop me off at my house and I'll be able to take care of it."
"You've done more than enough to prove you can't be left alone," Hiccup stated, voice sharp as his worry for (Y/N) started to build. Turning his head back to Toothless who had been slowly trailing after them with his face turned into something of worry, Hiccup said to the dragon, "Keep an eye out for (D/N) and come and get us when the other dragon riders land. I'll be with (Y/N) helping patch up her wound."
"You don't need to help Hiccup, really," (Y/N) said with a shake of her head. "You've already done more than enough for me. All I need help with is getting back to my hut."
"It's fine (Y/N), I want to help you." The two of them began walking at a slow pace, Hiccup considerate of the breaks (Y/N) had to take every couple of meters to steady her breathing. "It's times like this where I wished we picked a better design for the Edge."
(Y/N) turned her head to face the taller boy with two furrowed brows. "I like the design we have," She said slowly.
"Yeah, but not in moments like this," His voice grew softer.
"My hut is a perfect distance from the stables that at night I don't have to hear the snores of Hookfang or any other dragon that might be staying there."
A soft chuckle left Hicuup's lips. "I think you were the only one who took that into account when deciding where your hut would be."
"At least I'm not like Fishlegs."
"Why's that?"
"I didn't decide to build my hut on the ground," (Y/N) states like it's obvious. "Sure my hut's a bit of a trek from the clubhouse but I think it's worth it now that it's actually built."
As (Y/N) stopped speaking, the two of them stopped outside of her hut. Hiccup left her side only momentarily to open the door for her, reaching out an arm to help her hobble inside. They only broke apart once more after Hiccup urged her to go and take a seat at her bed while he looked for something to wrap her side in.
"Tomorrow we should fly to Berk," Hiccup started as he began to walk back over to (Y/N). He hadn't been able to find any scraps to use so instead he had a worn-out green shirt that he hadn't seen (Y/N) wear in a while. "Gothi will have better supplies than we do."
"Nonsense." Hiccup began by tearing a strip of the fabric off before gesturing for (Y/N) to lift her shirt and expose where she had been cut. Hiccup tried to keep his voice level as he spoke, watching as the fresh and old blood became clearer. "We need to make sure one of our best dragon riders is in top shape."
A hiss disguised as a chuckle left (Y/N)'s lips at the first contact. After that, not many words were spoken between the two of them as Hiccup worked with delicate hands while (Y/N) was left to watch while keeping her shirt out of the way.
When Hiccup finished he stayed crouched in front of (Y/N), not letting his eyes stray afar from her covered skin. "Promise me you'll be more careful out there," Hiccup muttered lowly, throat sounding dry as he refused to meet (Y/N)'s eye.
(Y/N)'s forehead creased at the boy's words, and her eyes downturned as she tried to catch his eyes. "I never tried to put myself in danger. It's just they had (D/N) and things started to get a little rocky until you showed up."
"I should have been there quicker," He shook his head, a few small braids flying as his hair got tangled. "I don't know what I would do if you got hurt like this again."
A soft sigh escaped from (Y/N)'s lips as she spoke, a hand hesitating only briefly before she was reaching forward to rest it on Hiccup's cheek, guiding his head so he was facing her. "Today was a one-off. Normally it's me who's saving you and Toothless remember?"
"I know." A ghost of a smile appeared on Hiccup's face before it was disappearing just as quickly as it arrived. "I just can't bare to see you get hurt again."
"And I won't," (Y/N) hummed as she bent forward, resting both of their foreheads together. "What we do is dangerous Hiccup, but you got to trust me when I say I'll be fine. I wasn't paying attention today, that's why (D/N) and I went down. I'll forever have the memory of today to remind me to pay more attention, okay?"
"Okay," Hiccup sighed, his shoulders relaxing from their tensed position.
"Now," (Y/N) said as a smile stretched across her face. Standing up, she dragged Hiccup up by the hand as she began to carefully walk to the door of her hut with a staggering one-legged Viking behind her. "I've got a dragon shipment that should be coming in soon. Do you mind escorting me back?"
"Of course, m'lady," Hiccup grinned, offering (Y/N) his arm once he fell into step beside her. "I wouldn't want anything to happen to you on your way back to the stables." Hiccup said, elating a laugh out of (Y/N).
That was how the two of them ended up walking arm-in-arm back to the stables where an energetic (D/N) was waiting for them.

“Okay, Hiccup, you called all of us here so what is it?” Astrid asked, arms crossed.
It was early in the morning. Fog covered the grounds of Dragons Edge and the air was especially chilly.
“I got a terror-mail from Johann-“ Hiccup was cut off by Snotlout
“Oh, come on! You dragged us out of bed because Johann sent you a letter!” Snotlout cried, Hookfang made a noise of agreement.
“No bueno, amigo.” Tuffnut shook his head while stroking chickens feathers.
“Hiccup,” Astrid sighed, “Please tell me whatever Johann said in that letter is worth telling this early in the morning.”
“It is, I promise.” Hiccup said
Everyone groaned in union. You had all been hoping to be sent back to bed.
You leaned against your dragon, enjoying the body heat they brought, as you waited for Hiccup to carry on.
“Go on then, Hiccup.” You said
“He said he had been visiting Glacier Island recently-“ Hiccup began
“No! We are not going back to that bag of ice, no way!” Snotlout roared
Hiccup ignored him, “As I was saying, he said it had been unusually quiet, so,” Hiccup raised his voice so he could be heard over the shouts of protest, “We will be going to check it out.”
“This is what you woke us up to tell us.” Ruffnut complained
“It takes some time to get there so we might as well start early.” Hiccup reasoned
“Hiccup, are you sure this is a good idea? Every time we’ve been there we’ve nearly escaped death.” Fishlegs spoke up
“Those dragons aren’t exactly friendly.” You put in
Hiccup sighed, “I know, I know. But we have to make sure.”
“Do you think the dragon hunters have something to do with this?” Astrid asked
“What would the dragon hunters want with the Snow Wraiths? They don’t have the Dragon Eye anymore, we do.” Fishlegs said
Hiccup shook his head, “I have no idea. But I’m definitely curious.”
Fishlegs nodded in agreement.
“Everyone needs to change into their warmest clothes, we all know how cold it is there, especially at this time of year.” Hiccup said
Everyone nodded and made their way to the clubhouse door.
As Snotlout was about to open the door, it opened for him.
“Surprise!” Dagur shouted, arms open wide as if expecting a hug.
Snotlout shrieked in fear and hid behind Fishlegs.
Heather appeared behind Dagur, a pleasant smile on her face.
“Dagur, Heather, what-what are you guys doing here?” Hiccup asked
“We’re here to celebrate Snoggletog with you guys, of course!” Dagur said
“I thought you guys knew we were coming?” Heather asked
“Nope, we didn’t.” Astrid said pointing to Snotlout
Heather turned towards Dagur, “You didn’t send them a terror-mail?”
Dagur looked shocked, “Me? I thought you were doing it.”
Heather shook her head, “No. We agreed you would do it.”
“No. We agreed you would do it.” Dagur argued
“It doesn’t really matter.” Hiccup interjected, “It’s a pleasant surprise, really.”
“Are you sure?” Heather looked worried, “We don’t want to be a bother.”
Hiccup shook his head, “You aren’t. It’s just…”
“..Just what?” Heather asked
“We got a message from Johann and we were gonna check it out.” Astrid said
“Johann? Is that the skinny guy with the long beard?” Dagur asked, genuinely curious
“That would be the one.” Astrid confirmed
“I think I stole his ship a couple of times.” Dagur muttered to no one in particular.
“What did he say? Maybe we could help.” Heather motioned to her and Dagur.
“Do you remember Glacier Island?” Hiccup asked
Heather and Dagur nodded.
“Johann said that the island had been unusually quiet. We think that the dragon hunters have done something to the pack of Snow Wraiths.” Hiccup explained
“And we’re going to check it out because Johann has never been wrong, and definitely hasn’t sent us on missions full of dead ends.” Snotlout spat
“A possible deadly mission full of wild, untamable dragons…I’m in!” Dagur said excitedly
Heather smiled at her brother's enthusiasm, “We’d be happy to help. If you’ll let us.”
“Of course you guys can come, Heather. You and Windshear would be a lot of help.” Astrid said
“And, yes…you can totally ride with me because I know you’re dying to ask.” Snotlout said
Astrid glared at him.
“It would be nice to have a couple extra riders.” Hiccup considered
You sent him an encouraging smile, urging him to accept their offer.
“Of course we’ll help, brother!” Dagur clapped his hand on Hiccup's back making Hiccup stumble, “With you dragon riders, and us Berserkers, nothing can stop us.”
“I guess it’s decided then.” Fishlegs said
“Alright, everyone, gear up. It’s gonna be a long flight.” Hiccup announced
—————————————
You added a couple extra layers than you normally would, and just to be safe added some blankets and extra jacket in your satchel just in case you had to stay longer than you would hope you’d have to spend on an island made of ice.
As you and your dragon landed by the clubhouse, Hiccup walked over to you.
He held out his hand to help you down. You accepted it with a smile.
“You have everything?” He asked
“Yep, do you?” You asked
He nodded. He paused for a moment and then sighed.
What is it, Hiccup?” You asked worriedly
“This. All of this. What could Viggo possibly want with the Snow Wraiths? He knows how dangerous they are and he doesn’t have the dragon eye so..” Hiccup took a moment to think
You sighed, “If anyone can figure out Viggos motives, it’s you. But, that doesn’t mean you should spend all your time worrying about it. We don’t even know if Johann was right, and the Snow Wraiths are gone! One thing at a time Hiccup, or you’ll drive yourself crazy.” You cupped his cheek affectionately.
He smiled gratefully and pulled your hand from his cheek and kissed the back of it.
“Ugh! Are you two done yet?” Snotlout shouted, obviously revolted by the display of affection.
You glared at him, “Yes, Snotlout, we are.”
“Amazing! Let’s get this show in the sky!” Dagur shouted excitedly
“Remember guys, one Snow Wraith is dangerous enough. But a whole pack of them-“ Hiccup began
“Is extremely deadly. Blah, blah, we get it!” Snotlout interrupted
Hiccup nodded, “So steer on the side of caution.” Hiccup warned while mounting Toothless.
“Of course, our dear Hiccup. We will steer on the side of most caution.” Ruffnut grinned mischievously
“We hear you loud and clear, H.” Tuffnut sent two thumbs up with a similar grin as his sister.
Hiccup sighed, knowing they weren’t going to listen to him.
“We’ve got a lot of ocean to fly over, so let’s go!” Hiccup shouted as Toothless jumped into the air with the rest of us following close behind.
——————————
How you were still freezing under three layers of clothes, you didn’t know.
Normally you would’ve tried to get your jacket from your satchel that was attached to your dragon's saddle, and risked falling off. But, the thought of falling into the water in this weather, was worse than the chilling wind that made your eyes tear up.
“There it is.” Hiccup shouted for the first time in hours.
You shivered at the thought of stepping onto the island of ice. But followed the others nonetheless.
“Finally.” You heard Astrid mutter in exhaustion.
During any other time of the year the flight would’ve been fine, even enjoyable. But of course Glacier Island would be a problem during the coldest time of the year.
When you hopped off your dragons back you took the moment to observe your surroundings. It was peaceful, just like it always was when you first got here. No sign of any disturbances, so that was good.
“We should spread out, we’ll cover more ground that way. Regroup back here in an hour.” Hiccup commanded
Fortunately, but unfortunately it didn’t take long to find something.
You gasped when you saw the nets, you hadn’t truly believed Johann.
You tried to convince yourself that they were from the last time you had fought the dragon hunters at the island.
Your hopes were gone when you heard Fishlegs and Heather shout for Hiccup at the same time.
You all grouped up around Fishlegs who was holding a dragon root arrow. Snotlout was a bit behind him holding his foot in pain.
“What did you find?” Hiccup asked
“It’s a dragon root arrow alright. I found it right around this area.” Fishlegs answered
“You found it? I’m the one who stepped on it! Why does this always happen to me?” Snotlout cried
“I found these.” You held up the nets
Hiccup looked at the nets in your hand in distress.
“How do we know those aren’t from the last time we were here?” Ruff asked
“Because the wood I found was recently burnt.” Heather spoke up
Hiccup sighed, obviously much more worried than before.
Dramatically, a snow storm began to brew.
“Fishlegs?” Hiccup looked towards said Viking
“These dragon root arrows are fresh.” Fishlegs answered Hiccup's silent question.
“How fresh?” Astrid asked
“A couple days, maybe. No more than a week.” Fishlegs said nervously
Hiccup cursed.
Snotlout gasped and covered his ears.
“Hey, boss, the Snow Wraiths normally come out during the storms right?” Tuff asked
Hiccup nodded.
“So, if the Snow Wraiths are still here, they would come looking for us, right?” Tuff went on
“Yes, because they can make out the heat of our bodies, while we can’t see them.” You answered, shuffling closer to Hiccup.
Hiccup wrapped his arms around you subconsciously, still in thought.
“Can we make a plan before we all turn into ice.” Ruffnut complained, latching onto Fishlegs for some body heat.
Tuff nodded, his teeth chattering as he did the same.
Hiccup nodded and looked up, “We’ll set up camp and make a fire. The more heat, the bigger the target.”
“We want them to attack us? Give me one good reason we shouldn’t just feed you to the nest right now!” Snotlout shouted angrily
“I like your idea, brother. I’ve been itching for some action.” Dagur said, pulling out an ax, and chuckled evilly.
“Uh, no, we’re not going to fight them, we’re just gonna draw them out so that we know they’re still here.” Hiccup said
“Great plan, genius. So what happens if they are here? Do you plan on making us dinner.” Snotlout protested
“We’ll fly away, and head back to the edge.” Hiccup said
“Uh, Hiccup, are we sure that’s the best idea?” Astrid asked doubtfully
“No. But it’s simple and easy. We don’t need to be here any longer than we need to be.” Hiccup said, rubbing the side of your arms as a hint to the cold being the problem.
Everyone nodded and got to work.
“Sorry, baby. Daddy Dagur will use you soon enough.” Dagur stroked his ax affectionately
————————
With the tents set up, and the group huddled around the small fire they made, we waited.
You were close to Hiccup's side, both of you sharing the blanket you had brought. You and Hiccup were leaned against Toothless, while both Toothless and your dragon used their wings to cover you from the harsh wind.
“They should be here any time now.” Hiccup reassured you
You nodded, hoping to believe him.
So, you waited.
———————
The blizzard only got worse and the Snow Wraiths were still not showing.
“Hiccup, we can barely see a thing!” Astrid shouted
“We have to make sure they’re still here!” Hiccup said desperately
“If we want to do that, we have to go to the nest. We’re wasting our breath sitting out here.” Heather said
Hiccup didn’t look pleased but he nodded.
When he remembered no one could see him but you he shouted, “Saddle up, we’re going to the nest!”
———————
Inside, you didn’t have to suffer from the harsh wind. Which was a big bonus.
You don’t know why you didn’t try to convince Hiccup to do this sooner.
The only downside was that Snotlout led you out of the caves (why did you guys follow him? Probably to make sure he wasn’t the one who found the Snow Wraiths first. He’d find a way to make them mad, if they weren’t already mad at seeing a stranger in their territory.).
When Toothless used his sound waves to locate the nest, things went a lot smoother.
You held your breath as you entered.
“Everyone, spread out, and look.” Hiccup ordered
You and the dragon covered one area of the nest but you didn’t see a Snow Wraith.
When you turned to report this to Hiccup, you noticed the look on his face and you knew you wouldn’t have to say a word. Because he already knew.
Hiccup shouted in outrage.
“What should we do, Hiccup?” Fishlegs asked in an anxious voice.
“We go back to the edge, I’ll send a letter to Johann, and-“ Hiccup was cut off by a gurgling noise.
It was coming from a small crack in the ice.
Hiccup flew down to check it out.
After he examined it for a few moments he said, “Fishlegs, come look at this.”
Fishlegs looked at the area Hiccup had pointed to and gasped.
“What? What is it?” Snotlout asked
Fishlegs turned to Hiccup, “Is that…”
Hiccup nodded, “I think it is.”
“Ooh, is this a guessing game! Okay, I’ll go first, meatloaf, lamb, hamster!” Tuffnut shouted
When everyone looked at him strangely he said, “What? I’m hungry.”
“Hamster?” Heather asked
“Hey! If you have a problem with my dietary choices, you can keep it to yourself.” Tuff accused
Heather looked at Astrid in confusion, in the return the blonde only shrugged.
“Hiccup.” He looked up at you, “What it is.”
“I think…” he paused looking back at the crack in the ice, “it’s a baby Snow Wraith.”
Someone gasped.
“Are you sure?” You asked
“Pretty sure.” Hiccup answered
Snotlout groaned in annoyance, “So if she asks a question, you answer? Your favoritism is showing, Hiccup. And I don’t like it.” Snotlout narrowed his eyes.
Hiccup just rolled his eyes.
“How did it even get there?” Snotlout asked
“Your mom never had that talk with you?” You asked teasingly
You laughed under your breath while Snotlout muttered for you to shut up.
“Hiccup, do you know what this means?” Fishlegs said in a concerned voice
“What? What does it mean?” Snotlout asked
Hiccup nodded.
“It means that this baby has been left vulnerable. He’s too young to provide for himself, and much less protect himself.” Fishlegs said
“Well, we can’t just leave the baby Snow Wraith here, then.” Heather said
“Yeah, no baby dragons left behind.” Dagur said
“We aren’t going to leave it.” Hiccup reassured
“But, Hiccup, we’ve never seen a Snow Wraith outside of Glacier Island. How do we know we’ll be able to inhabit him anywhere else? The edge isn’t nearly as cold as it is here.” Fishlegs said
“Maybe, one of us will stay with him, while the others go get the other Snow Wraiths back.” Hiccup suggested
“It’s far too cold for any one of us to stay here for that long. Even with our dragons.” You said
“She’s right, Hiccup. Staying here isn’t an option either.” Fishlegs agreed
“Well, what do we know about the Snow Wraiths?” Hiccup asked
Fishlegs pulled out his dragon cards, “We know that they can blend in with the snow..they can only make out our body heat..and that they typically live in cold places.”
“What about the snow capped mountains back on the edge, those are pretty cold.” Ruffnut said absentmindedly
Fishlegs gasped, “Yes, that could work. Good idea, Ruff!”
Ruffnut looked shocked at being praised, “Oh..really?”
Fishlegs nodded.
“Well..you're welcome.” She said
“Good idea, gang.” Hiccup spoke, “Now how do you get this little guy outta here?”
—————————
We bribed him with a chicken leg of course.
Tuff had to leave the room before we pulled it out so he wouldn’t get upset.
Apparently, Dagur carries around cooked chicken legs.
He claimed that he was always getting hungry on long flights.
Now the dragon was nestled comfortably in Fishlegs arms. Sleeping peacefully as we made our journey back to the edge.
When Dragons Edge was finally insight, Hiccup called out directions, “Fishlegs, Heather, you take the baby Snow Wraith up to the mountains and make sure that it can safely inhabit the mountains. The rest of you, to the clubhouse. I need to get something from my hut but I’ll meet you there.” And with the final word he set towards his hut.
“You heard the man.” Dagur shouted
What you weren’t expecting when you landed was a certain trader standing there, looking quite nervous.
“Trader Johann?” You said in surprise
“Ah! Good, you’re here. I have the most important news that must be shared with master Hiccup straight away.” Johann said
“He’ll be here in just a moment.” You said
But Johann just shook his head, “We don’t have a moment. I must tell master Hiccup this information now. Before…it is too late.”
You and Astrid shared a worried glance.
“What information?” Astrid asked stepping forward
Johann looked even more nervous to be addressed from Astrid.
“Johann, what information?” Astrid continued
“I was hoping to wait for master Hiccup..” Johann began
You sighed, “No need, because there he is.” You pointed towards the sky
Hiccup climbed off Toothless’ back with something in his hand. When he looked up, he was surprised to see everyone looking at him in worry.
“What? What is it?” He asked
You nodded your head towards the unexpected guest.
“Johann?” Hiccup said in surprise
“Yes, master Hiccup, I have urgent news for you.” Johann said
“We got your terror mail-“ Hiccup began moving to your side to get a clear look at Johann.
“It is not about that. Or rather it is, but it is updated information.” Johann said
“And what would that be?” Hiccup questioned
Johann chuckled a little, “Well you see..”
“To the point, Johann. If this information is as important as you say it is, then we can’t waste any time.” You cut in
Johann sighed a little, “You’re right, miss. I was chatting with a few of my merchant friends when I caught wind of some dragon hunters heading out east. I heard them mention big, untamable, dragons who could see body heat. I was certain they were talking about the Snow Wraiths.”
“How far east, Johann?” Hiccup asked, sounding urgent
Johann perked up a bit, “I’ve brought you a map.” He pulled it from his bag and handed it to Hiccup.
Hiccup opened it and quickly glanced over the information, then nodded.
“Thank you for all your help, Johann.” Hiccup said
“Of course, master Hiccup. As always, it is a pleasure to serve you.” Johann bowed dramatically
Hiccup turned towards the rest of us, “Okay, gang, Snotlout, find Fishlegs and Heather and pass on Johann's message. Tell them to stay here and look after the baby Snow Wraith until we get back.” Snotlout nodded. He and Hookfang flew off towards the mountains.
“I'm sorry to interrupt, master Hiccup, but did I hear you correctly? Baby Snow Wraith?” Johann asked
Hiccup nodded
Johann gasped, “Oh, dear. If the mother has been taken from her baby she will be in much hurry to get back. You must proceed with caution, master Hiccup.”
Hiccup nodded, “Thank you, Johann. As for the rest of you, change your winter gear for protective gear. You heard Johann, the Snow Wraiths won’t be able to tell the difference from us and the hunters. Once Snotlout gets back, we take off.”
Everyone nodded.
————————————
“So how far away is this place, Hiccup?” Astrid asked
“Not far.” Hiccup replied
“You don’t sound too happy about that, brother.” Dagur commented
“I'm not. What are the dragon hunters doing so close to our island.” Hiccup responded
“We’ll figure it out and then we’ll deal with it. We always do.” You said
Hiccup sent you a small smile, and you returned it with one of your own.
——————
“That’s the island.” Hiccup pointed downward
You all peered down.
“Uh, is it just me, or does that island look pretty abandoned?” Tuff asked
“It’s not just you, Tuff. They must be hidden somewhere on the island.” Hiccup said
A huge explosion caught all your attention.
“There!” Hiccup shouted, “Ruff, Tuff, Dagur, you pressure them in from the right.” The twins and Dagur nodded
Hiccup called your name and Snotlout's next, “You two will take the left.” Hiccup looked towards Astrid, “We’ll come up from behind.”
We did just as Hiccup told us to, but where we were expecting a battle or flying arrows, there was a mess instead. Bins and barrels were knocked over, some had been filled with food, others with weapons, but not a hunter in sight.
“I'm confused, I thought we were supposed to be dodging the flying arrows, not following them to find the hunters who want to hunt us and our dragons.” Snotlout said
“If we find the hunters, we find the Snow Wraiths.” You replied
“Right, the dragons who also want to kill us. Great.” Snotlout muttered
A roar could be heard in the distance.
You and Snotlout made eye contact, a knowing, displeased look was on his face, “We’re going to go near the angry dragon instead of away from it, aren’t we.” Snotlout said
You grinned a little, “Yep.”
“Of course we are.” Snotlout muttered
When the two of you got there you found the rest of your group was already at the scene.
One of the Snow Wraiths was fighting a couple hunters on the ground.
The gang tried to help but the Snow Wraith thought that you were a threat so they started to fire at you.
The hunters were too busy dodging the Snow Wraiths attacks to care about the rest of you.
You saw a hunter run for the woods, and Hiccup and Toothless following. You followed, not knowing where the rest of the hunters were and not wanting Hiccup to run into them.
Hiccup stopped in front of him, blocking his path. You stopped behind him, blocking his escape route. When he turned to the right, Toothless blasted down the tree. When he turned to the left your dragon knocked over a couple of trees.
“Where are the rest of the Snow Wraiths?” Hiccup demanded
The hunter whimpered in fear.
Your dragon growled, “Answer him.” You said
“I-I-I don’t know. O-one minute we were working, just like normal. Then that Snow Wraith cornered us.” The hunter spilled
“Where are the rest of you?” Hiccup demanded, Toothless opened his mouth ready to fire a warning shot.
The hunter screeched, “Un-under the island. There’s an entrance a few feet underwater. The rest of us were working up here.”
Toothless relaxed and Hiccup smiled.
“Thank you for the help!” You yelled as you dropped the hunter on top of a tree.
When you made it back to the others the Snow Wraith was gone.
“What happened?” Hiccup asked
“It just flew away.” Fishlegs answered
“We tried to stop it, but..” Astrid added
“It would’ve torn all of us to shreds!” Snotlout roared
“Believe me, it was compelling.” Dagur added
“Tell me about it.” Ruff muttered
Hiccup just rubbed his hand over his face.
“What did you guys find?” Astrid asked
“The location of the other hunters.” You answered
“Where?” Fishlegs asked
“Under the island.” Hiccup said
The other six raised their eyebrows.
“Under the island?” Fishlegs sounded confused
You nodded
“How far under the island?” Tuff asked
“Only a few feet.” You said
“It shouldn’t be too difficult, but proceed with caution.” Hiccup warned
———
You hovered over the water uncertainty. On one hand, you were ready for this to be over. On the other, you weren’t exactly looking to go swimming this trip.
“Alright, gang, I’ll go in first. Wait a few minutes before following me in, just in case it’s a trap.” Hiccup said
“Why does he get to do all the fun stuff?” You heard Tuff mutter
You watched anxiously as Hiccup and Toothless dove for the water.
And you waited…
When nothing happened, Astrid spoke up, “I think that means it’s clear.”
“Remember to be cautious.” You said before all of you dove
You held your breath as you plunged into the water. Given the speed your dragon was going it felt like a slap to the face. You tried to ignore the sting as you resurfaced under the island.
It was cave-like. A few torches lit here and there providing a little bit of light.
Hiccup stood (dripping wet) waiting expectantly with a torch in his hand.
Once all of you had made it in, Toothless led you all through the dark underground, using his special ability to locate the rest of the hunters.
The ground shook under your feet when you heard a bang.
Toothless let out a growl, positioning himself to be ready for whatever was coming. The rest of the dragons followed.
Before you knew it Hiccup was yelling “Duck!” and pushing you to the ground.
You gasped as you watched 1…2…3…5? Snow Wraiths fly past you in quite the hurry.
Hiccup's arm was on your back trying to push you back towards the ground. Toothless and your dragon were covering the both of you but with the speed the dragons were going at, no one knew if staying on the ground would keep you safe.
After a few moments of silence, Hiccup pulled you up.
“Well that was great.” Snotlout grumbled
“I’ve never seen a dragon of that size move so fast.” Astrid commented
“Me either.” Hiccup stated
“They had to be running from something big.” Ruffnut said, excitedly
“It had to be a-a…a dragon as big as this island.” Tuff said
“If it was as big as the island, it wouldn’t be able to fit in here.” Astrid said, annoyed
“Habitat change, perhaps?” You added
“Those both could be- uh, possible.” Hiccup said
“Well, what are we waiting for, let’s go take a look shall we?” Dagur said
Said person tried to fly off, but Hiccup stepped in his path and stopped him.
“What are you talking about? Clearly the problem has worked itself out. So let’s go home before we get ourselves killed!” Snotlout said
“Because we don’t know if the problem has solved itself, Snotlout. There could still be more Snow Wraiths. And we don’t if the Snow Wraiths were running from something. So we have to plan this accordingly before we jump into the volcano.” Hiccup said
“There’s a volcano?” Tuff asked, looking around
“Yeah, it’s over there.” Ruff pointed the other way
When Tuff looked, Ruff hit him hard on the back of the head.
“Hiccup, we don’t have time to come up with a super brilliant plan. The baby Snow Wraith needs its mother. Heather and Fishlegs can only look after it for so long.” Astrid said
Hiccup nodded, “Yes, yes. That’s a good point, but-“
“She’s right, Hiccup. We need to act now, we can’t plan for all the possibilities. Who knows what being here has done for the Snow Wraiths. So, if there are more..” you cut in
Hiccup sighed, “You’re right. On your dragons and approach with caution.”
It was so dark, that without our dragons we would have run into the hard walls.
Then, something grabbed you off of your dragons back.
You screamed in surprise, feeling claws dig into your forearms.
You could faintly hear Hiccup scream your name in panic over the sound of your dragon's worried calls.
You were flying face, you weren’t sure where you were going as it was pitch black.
That was until you were plunged into cold water.
Water went up your nose unfortunately. And your eyes burned at the sudden salt water.
You quickly tried to swim up to the surface. Also, unfortunately for you, there were small tides pushing this way or that. You weren’t sure if you were supposed to fight the tides or allow them to take you. You hadn’t remembered these from before. Maybe because you were focusing on holding your breath.
You felt something grab the back of your clothes and pull you up. You coughed urgently, desperate to get some air.
A tongue was trying to be helpful by licking the water from your face. By the worried grunts you knew it was your dragon.
“I’m alright.” You gasped out a little
You felt a human body come in contact with yours, gently cradling you while asking too many questions for your mind to comprehend.
“I’m okay.” You assured Hiccup
“What was that?” You asked when you finally sat up on your own
“That's something we would all like to know.” Snotlout said unhelpfully
“We couldn’t see anything. By the time we made it back here it was gone. Just..vanished.” Astrid answered
“What do we do then?” You asked
Hiccup was deep in thought, “We draw it back to us.”
“What?” Multiple voices said
“Some of us will wait here while the others go out to be bait. When the dragon brings one of us back, we corner it.” Hiccup explained
You sighed, “I’ll do it.”
Hiccup sent you a harsh look, “No. Someone else will.”
“Hiccup, it already happened to me once-“
“I said, no. That’s final.” Hiccup said, looking very authoritative.
“I’ll do it.” Astrid volunteered
Hiccup nodded, “Good idea. Astrid and I will fly back. The rest of you, wait here. Remember, we don’t want to hurt it.” He said mounting Toothless's back once more
“Hiccup-“ you tried once more
“Stay. Please.” His eyes were pleading
Reluctantly you stepped back.
—————————
Hiccup's plan was successful as usual.
The dragon who had thrown you into the water was an unknown species.
Hiccup had already calmed it down, thankfully. Or so you thought until the dragon threw Hiccup on his back and flew off.
“Hiccup!” You shouted in horror, quickly mounting your dragon and flying up.
You paused when you heard Toothless’ worried growl from the ground.
Sighing a bit, you landed and mounted Toothless, while your dragon flew after you.
You had ridden on Toothless before, but Hiccup was always on the reins. This was new, Toothless and you were both worried for said boy's safety, in a place where the dragon who had taken him could easily dodge past all of you, so you had to search for him in the complete darkness.
None of these thoughts seem to occur to Toothless as he flew at record breaking speed through the darkness.
Minutes felt like hours as you were desperate to come in contact with them.
Toothless only seemed to move faster when Hiccup's voice could be heard.
Settling down in a poorly lit portion of the cave you jumped off Toothless and ran for Hiccup.
“Are you alright? What happened?” You asked worriedly while checking for any cuts and bruises.
“I’m alright.” He assured you and Toothless.
“What was that?” Astrid asked jumping off a Stormfly's back
“It was a very bad plan. As usual.” Snotlout commented
“It was amazing. One minute you were there and then..you weren’t! Like magic!” Tuff said in a tone as if he were telling a poorly written story.
“This dragon wanted me to see this.” Hiccup lit a torch and used its flames to brighten the cave wall.
Markings and pictures were shown.
“What does it mean?” You asked
“It’s why Viggo came here. He took the Snow Wraiths because they can see body heat, meaning that this dragon couldn’t get past them, like it could us. And with the Snow Wraiths unparalleled abilities and the uneven numbers taking this guy down would’ve been pretty easy.” Hiccup placed his hand on the dragon sympathetically, “But, Viggo underestimated the Snow Wraiths abilities, and they were able to fly away before they could ever get near here.”
“But what is it?” Snotlout asked impatiently
“I think it’s…I think it’s a new species of dragons.” Hiccup said
You all were taken aback.
“Are you sure?” Astrid asked uncertainty
Hiccup nodded, “I am.”
“So, what do we do now?” Tuff asked
“We can’t leave this kind of information for people like Viggo to find. I’ve already copied a bit of the drawings in my book, but the rest of it…” Hiccup looked toward the dragon, a silent request.
The dragon fired on the wall, completely destroying what had been there.
“Fishlegs is going to be so upset he missed this.” Snotlout commented
“Heather, too.” Dagur added
“So, what about this guy?” Astrid asked pointing the new dragon
Hiccup turned to look at everyone, “I say, we take him back to the edge. He no longer needs to protect this information, and he’ll be better protected there. But if anyone has a problem with that…” Hiccup waited for an objection that never came.
“I call riding him!” Snotlout shouted
Hookfang growled and flamed his body.
Snotlout recoiled, he chuckled nervously, “I’m just kidding, Hooky.”
Hiccup seemed satisfied, “Well then-“ he was cut off by a distant growl
You all knew the look on his face, you were going to check it out.
With Toothless and Hiccup in the lead we flew back where we came from. Following the sounds of the unknown dragon.
When we got there our new companion dragon was already at the scene. Surprising us, but no one commented.
Next to it was a Snow Wraith fighting desperately to get out of a dragon proof cage.
“All of them didn’t get out on their own.” Astrid said, sadly
“It’s hurt.” You commented seeing the nasty scratches on its side.
It stopped making noise as soon as Hiccup held his hand up in the air.
“Hiccup..” you began
“She’s the baby Snow Wraith's mother.” Hiccup finished your thought
“She must have been fighting so hard to get free that she hurt herself.” You added
“Yeah.” Hiccup said sadly, noticing the scratches
“It’s okay, we’re on your side, and we’re going to get you out of here.” Hiccup said, approaching cautiously
When he deemed the dragon to be calm enough, Hiccup nodded towards Toothless.
Toothless opened his mouth ready to blast the lock but our new dragon companion beat him to it.
He blasted it straight through the cage.
Once again, you were all shocked speechless.
Toothless grumbled unappreciative at his thunder being stolen.
“Let’s see…it’s the key to the dragon proof cages and information on a species of dragons..and it flies really fast…I’ve got it! Keyflyer!” Tuff shouted
Ruff scoffed at her twin, “Keyflyer, really?”
“Do you have a better suggestion?” Tuff fired back
“No. But I will!” Ruff said, determinedly
“Hiccup, this is incredible.” You said
Hiccup grinned widely at you, “I know.” You could see the wheels in his head turning.
“But let’s not get too ahead of ourselves.” You reminded
“What? Oh, you’re right.” He turned towards all of you, “Let’s head home.”
———————
Hiccup's bed was far warmer than yours. But, maybe that was because there were two people in it instead of one.
You enjoyed using the excuse that Hiccup's bed was much warmer than yours so that you could spend the night at his without too many remarks from the others.
Hiccup didn’t mind at all, it was much more comfortable to cuddle with another human than a dragon that weighs 5x more than you do.
Your arms were curled around each other, barely any space between you two. If someone were to come on it would look as if there were only one body in the bed instead of two.
Most mornings you wake up and Hiccup had left with Toothless for a morning flight. He comes back eventually, crawling back into bed, so that the two of you could talk softly about whatever was on your mind that morning. Or, you might join him for a morning flight.
Your favorite mornings you woke up with him right next to you, no rush for a morning flight, just taking your time. Until, you are inevitably interrupted by someone. These mornings could be counted on one hand, but they were the best.
To your luck, today was one of those mornings. Snoggletog was still a bit away, but you and the gang did a few things to celebrate together before heading back to Berk. This year, Dagur and Heather joined in those festivities.
Hiccup was absentmindedly stroking the hair from your face, making you melt in a feeling of bliss. His eyes were unfocused, meaning he was thinking, his eyes were trained on the floor on the other side of the bed.
“Hi.” You said, voice quiet but it still came out louder than you meant it to.
He smiled down at you, “Good morning.” He softly kissed the crown of your head.
You hummed in approval.
“How long have you been up?” You asked, stilling his hand by your hair and intertwining your fingers.
Hiccup shrugged, “Not long. I didn’t expect you to wake up so soon.”
You smiled teasingly, “Oh, planning to do a bunch of Hiccup things before I woke up and started to annoy you.”
He huffed out a small laugh, “Yes, that’s it.”
Then, a loud bang came from downstairs as Toothless dashed up the stairs in surprise and jumped on you and Hiccup.
“Get up, brother! Breakfast is warm and tasty!” Dagurs voice shouted from below
Toothless lifted one of his wings to reveal a grinning Dagur.
Dagurs grin changed to a look of surprise at the sight of you.
“Oh, am I interrupting something?” He asked
“Are both lovebirds in there? Shocker.” You could Snotlout laugh outside of the hut.
“Yeah, those two are attached at the hip all the time.” Tuff said
“Imagine being with someone all the time, I could never do that.” Ruff added
“Same here, sister.” Tuff agreed
Hiccup groaned in annoyance, “Yes! You are interrupting something. Leave, all of you!”
“Someone’s grumpy.” You heard Snotlout mutter before the door slammed shut.
He turned to look at you, a look of regret on his face. You knew he felt bad for this morning being interrupted.
You smiled, “Breakfast?”
He smiled in return, knowing you weren’t. He leaned down for a sweet kiss.
———————
“…and there they were. Great great Uncle Hopnutt with his one leg and a bucket, staring straight into the eyes of the big bass, the size of a Toothless!” Tuff told his story in a dramatic manner that all of you were used to.
Toothless’ head shot up at the sound of his name.
“The size of Toothless? Please.” Astrid laughed, clearly not believing Tuffnutts story.
“Don’t barf on the yak until you taste it, A. Double G Uncle Hopnutt swore on his other leg!” Tuff pointed to one of his legs.
“And that’s a big deal! Because..Y’know..he only has one leg.” Ruff added
“Oooh, what happened next? What happened next!” Dagur demanded like a child about to receive a new toy.
It was later, you had just eaten dinner and now we're sharing stories.
Toothless opened the clubhouse door walking over to you and Hiccup.
Hiccup sat watching the twins with his arm around your shoulder, you were snuggled into his side.
When he noticed Fishlegs he smiled.
“Hey, Fishlegs!” Hiccup greeted
Fishlegs grinned, “I can’t believe you found not one, but two new species of dragons.” Fishlegs squealed in delight, “This is more amazing than I thought. And, you would not believe what I found out from the baby Snow Wraith!”
Snotlout walked over to us, “For the record, I was the only one who was brave enough to go in the cave in the first place. The rest of them were too chicken to go in.” Snotlout bragged
You rolled your eyes, “Yep, that’s how it happened.”
“Yeah, good thing we brought you along Snotlout or things would’ve gone way south.” Hiccup added dryly.
“You’re welcome.” Snotlout said, examining his nails.
Fishlegs looked unamused, he opened his mouth to speak when chicken jumped on him in fright.
“Not cool, A. I told you your face makes her nervous.” Tuff raged
“I didn’t even do anything!” Astrid complained
“Sure you didn’t, Astrid.” Ruff said accusingly
“Hey, get off of me!” Fishlegs pulled chicken off of him
“Be careful, Gronkle lover, she’s fragile!” Tuff roared, picking up chicken and cooing at her.
“Hey! She took my book!” Fishlegs yelled
Tuff chuckled menacingly, “Did she?” He smirked holding Fishlegs book up in the air.
“Give me that!” Fishlegs ran towards Tuff in search of his book.
Tuffnut through the book in the air, towards where his sister was standing. But instead of landing in Ruffnut hands it landed on Snotlout's face.
Snotlout shrieked as he fell over.
Astrid fell to the floor laughing.
Heather ran over to pull Fishlegs off of Tuffnut.
“Should we help them?” You asked Hiccup
He examined the scene in front of him, “We’ll step in once Astrid pulls out her ax.”
You nodded in agreement, enjoying the scene in front of you.
You and Hiccup laughed silently at the chaos that was currently your friends. Enjoying these last few moments together before you were sure to have to step in before anyone could get really hurt.

The Jealous One pt 2
Pairing: Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III x Fem!Reader
Words: 1,351
You and the twins become acquainted.
Tags: fem!reader, silly, ambiguous timeline, the Twins
<Previous - Next>
You and Snotlout peered around a corner of the Great Hall, one of the closets on the way to the kitchen area. He was leaning over your head as you were crouched close to the floor, giving each other enough room to both peer past while also retaining your personal space.
“Ruffnut’s hot,” He said, as you wrinkled your nose at him, “And single.”
It was dark on account of it not being mealtime as of yet, the torches cool and unlit in their holsters.
“She doesn’t like you,” You rolled your eyes, “Besides, what happened to Astrid?”
Snotlout wasn’t that close with anyone either, for obvious reasons. But once you got used to him he became sort of bearable. It helped that there was no love lost between the two of you, forced together more out of boredom and circumstance than anything else.
“She’s too busy with the nerd to give me a shot.” He scoffed.
You were glad to be spared the terrible pick-up lines, for the most part. You were still the bouncing board sometimes, in a ‘does this sound right?’ or ‘do I look hot enough to pull?’ sort of sense. You always said ‘no.’
“Which one?” You grinned. You felt a bit bad for making the jab, but Astrid, Fishlegs and Hiccup were all in their own sort of three-way acquaintanceship, the mention of which you knew would put him off.
“Ugh,” Snotlout made a noise that could only be likened to a gurgle and he used his hand to shove you further downwards, to which in response you elbowed up, jabbing him in the gut.
He was a bit rough sometimes but he was good company and decent enough entertainment when he wasn’t. That was okay, though, because you’d long grown past the nervous stage in your friendship where you’d been too nervous to prod back, not that he’d been exactly trying to roughhouse you at that time.
You cradled the thick pigskin in your arms, carefully filled until bursting with a hardy mix of sap and honey and sewn tightly but clumsily shut by the both of you.
You snorted crawling out from under Snotlout and edging your way into the empty hall, “Where do you think I should stash this? Do you mind playing distraction again?”
“There are no good spots,” Snotlout complained, “Why don’t we just throw this at someone and get it over with?”
“And where would we find someone?” You asked, glancing back and forth, “There’s no one here.... We should really get going. I don’t want to get caught.”
You backed up slightly on your toes, causing Snotlout to have to back up too to compensate. He got the idea eventually, moving back out of your way.
Snotlout complained, “If there’s no people in the hall, then why are we hiding? I mean, they’d catch you. Wuss.”
“Shut up,” You glared back at him, tossing the pigskin in his direction, “And I meant I didn’t want to get caught with you.”
“Whatever,” Snotlout scoffed, catching it roughly.
You winced, expecting it to burst, though was pleasantly surprised when it didn’t.
You turned, ready to leave, and nearly bumped into someone else as you did.
Tuffnut. Ruffnut stood next to him, both of her arms crossed over her chest.
You could just barely make out her face over the shadows and she waning torchlight.
“What are you doing here?” You asked as you pasted a twitchy grin onto your face, eyeing the newcomers.
“Nothing.” Tuffnut said dully, holding a very obviously full bucket by his front.
“What are you doing back here?” Tuffnut squinted his eyes at you with mock cynicism, leaning closer exaggeratedly.
You listened to the creak of the large doors of the Great Hall, allowing light to trickle into the dark space and a light smattering of conversation as people began to pour in.
Ruffnut craned her head towards and around you.
Snotlout snorted, holding the skin obviously in front of him.
“We were talking about how hot Snotlout thinks you are.” You said snidely and glaring at Snotlout from the corner of your eye.
“What, me?” Asked Tuffnut, turning sharply to look at Snotlout, finger pointing to himself as the bucket revealed itself, swinging some of its contents onto the floor.
“What?” Snotlout glared at you, then back at the twins, “No!”
Tuffnut opened his arms wide, dropping the bucket to the floor, the black, tar-like slush seeping across clean-ish stone, “Bring it in, man.”
You sighed, rolling back your eyes, Tuffnut beginning to enclose in on him.
You looked back just in time to meet eyes with Snotlout, who was feeling the pigskin in his hand, bringing it up and down testily.
You shook your head, dread growing in your gut.
Your legs bent as you braced to run. Snotlout might have been able to handle the twins but you certainly couldn’t.
You gasped as he lobbed the skin at Tuffnut. It smacked straight into his face, bursting and splashing onto Ruffnut, who shouted loudly in retaliation.
Weren’t sure what kind of expression he wore behind the spray as you turned around and bolted.
You listened to the trees, their leaves rusting quickly together by the beginning of the line, just a few long yards away from your feet.
“Gross. …In the mead?” You whispered back, facing up towards the night sky. You couldn’t make out much besides the stars, which perhaps seemed to make them shine all the brighter.
You felt the mud beneath you move uncomfortably as you shifted though you were much too tired to care. It wouldn’t do much anyways, nearly the whole of your front half was crusted in mud.
The others weren’t much different, collapsed and fallen like an assortment of mismatched flower petals. You couldn’t see them, but you could feel the weight of their presence displacing the air to your sides.
Turns out the lot of you got along like a hut on fire.
“I was five.” Tuffnut declared, his eyes, not bothering to be quiet, as the rest of you.
Past you and everyone else was the incline to a shallow hill, just low enough to see past it but still tall enough to make your legs burn with effort as you had tried to run past just an hour or so earlier.
“He was,” Ruffnut agreed in a whisper, to your left. You heard the sound of flesh on metal as Tuffnut was weakly whacked on the head, her shaky arm reaching over to smack his helmet with her palm.
You thought of your earlier game of cat-and-mouse.
Your hand, laid over your torso, twitched over a spot that still ached in a deep and dull way where a mud ball had been thrown into you particularly roughly.
Overall, it was thrilling. You thought it might be dangerous at first, out so late at night trying to run with such violate personalities.
Honestly, though it turned out to be no different than when you’d made off with Hiccup as kids. Hiccup could be a pretty violate personality himself sometimes, though not in the same ways.
“You get freebies at that age, right?” Tuffnut managed, as Snotlout groaned from above you. You heavily suspected that he had begun to drift in and out of sleep.
“‘M helmet…” He groaned, “Lost…”
You smiled hawkishly at the reminder, resisting the urge to kick the horned object by your feet further away.
You remembered you and Hiccup messing around as children. People were a lot nicer on him when he was a young kid. They got harder on him when he got older, and then they gave up, which probably felt a lot worse than them being mad.
“Right,” You said, “Still gross. Someone had to drink that, you know.”
You were able to avoid most repercussions. The Chief's son making a mess was a lot bigger news than you, even after it became a pattern, and a lot more interesting-sounding when they omitted his sidekick.
“Well,” Tuffnut shrugged,” They didn’t have to.”
“...That is true.” You snorted, beaming.

hii if you’re still looking for prompts may I request first kiss with snotlout x reader?
omg i fully thought i posted this ages ago, im so so sorry to have made you wait so very long!
first kiss with Snotlout
It was sweet; fleeting; decadent. Snotlout sought all he could reap before the chance was lost, leaning closer to you. Laughing, you watched his lips search for you a moment after you pulled away.
Opening his eyes, Snotlout flushed bright red. "Was it bad?"
You composed yourself. "No, not at all. It was great." You smiled subconsciously, lips tingling. "It was great," you repeated.
Snotlout grinned like a fool.
It was not his skill, per se, that had charmed you so. Any other idiot would've been as thrilling to kiss as a doorknob. This idiot -- your one -- had much more naunce: shy behind all that confidence, unfaulteringly flirtatious, and devoted as any dragon. More secretly still, desperate to please you.
True to his nature, Snotlout puffed out his chest even as his voice wavered, shuffling closer to you on the furs of his bed. "Can I kiss you again?"
Smiling, you answered the affirmative and dipped in to kiss him.
This time, you each took care to slot together properly, lips fitting to your counterpart. Snotlout tucked a stray stand of hair behind your ear and cupped your cheek, palm warm and a little sweaty on your skin. He smelled good; like a campfire.
Snotlout pulled away first this time, gratified, awed. "That was... wow."
You laughed, and nodded your agreement. "Yeah."
"I'm glad we--"
"Me too," you added, a touch too eagerly. Snotlout smiled toothily at you.

hi! May I request some snotlout x reader dating pretty please?
Yes you can my friend 😌
I put it into headcanons because its easier to write it this way, if you would like a specific situation you would probably have to request that separately
SNOTLOUT X READER (Dating Headcanons)
Tumblr media
Not my Gif
Pairing: Snotlout x Gn! Reader
Reader pronouns used (half the time I don't even put the pronouns into my writing) : They/Them/Their's
Warnings: nothing but a sweet viking boyfriend
Summary: Headcanons
Right so personal headcanon of him general is that he has a load of burn scars.
Yk from Hookfang, so whenever you look at him for too long, he gets shy
As big as his ego can seem, he's kinda fragile
Needs to be treated with care.
He gives up on flirting with Astrid and Heather, he's only focused on you
PLEASE compliment him
He needs it
His dad's a bit of a douche and brings him down when he comes by
You gotta comfort him when it happens, like a lot.
Like you gotta make sure he doesn't do something stupid
I mean you have to make sure if that most of the time
You might as well be his parent
If you just hold him gently, he'll purr like a cat.
Don't ask where this idea came from it just kinda appeared in my head.
He loves when you appreciate his muscles
Like just tell him you think they are cool
He'd be jumping for joy!
Hookfang
Hookfang would probably pretend to prefer you to Snotlout just to be spiteful
Even when he's not pretending though Hookfang knows when you two need privacy
Hookfang also genuinely enjoys your presence since Snotlout is less annoying when around you
Snotlout quietens down a little bit around you
It's cause he's in love~
However, he may be quieter but he also shows off to you sooooo much.
Or he shows you off to everyone
He's gotta keep your attention somehow
He just wants you to think he's interesting.
He's a victim of the Twins pranks, however with you around you tend to spot when they try to pull something on him.
He's always trying to make you laugh and smile
He gives gifts to you whenever he can find something he deems worthy
Although sometimes neither of you have time for eachother because the riders are doing things, he'll make sure you always get a bunch of flowers.
Sorry if this isn't the best but it's what I've got for now 💜 hope you have a wonderful day/night/whatever time it is for you

Pelt: Snotlout Jorgenson X Gender Neutral Reader
Tumblr media
Prompt: Tropesgiving Day 2: One Bed Pronouns: None Mentioned Physical Sex: None Mentioned Rating: G/Fluff Warnings: Snotlout the flirt, the twins fight, written with a male reader in mind - but it's never stated Summary: When someone forgets to bring enough blankets for the no-dragon training trip the group ends up having to share the few they do have.
When Hiccup first opened his mouth you thought you heard him wrong, but as he pulls the mix of fabrics and pelts from the travel bag his words are proven.
“That’s three blankets and one pelt.” Astrid confirms as she lays them out between the group.
“I could’ve sworn I packed seven!” Hiccup exclaims.
“Not everyone can be as good at counting as I am.” Tuffnut nudges his sister. “See, watch. One, two, three, four, five…” He pauses.
“Six?” Ruffnut suggests.
“No, no. I think it’s ten”
“Then what’s after ten?”
“As much as I would love to let you guys count for the rest of your lives, I’m a little worried about us possibly dying in the cold.” Fishlegs say as he begins to fiddle with his hands in nervousness.
“Look, we’ll be fine.” Snotlout insists. “I’ll just have Hookfang-“
“We don’t have the dragons, Snotlout. This was supposed to be a simple training exercise.” Astrid groans as her hands stretch out the blankets. “Maybe we can cut them.”
“With what though?” You join her in looking over what little protection the group will have from the cold. “If we use a sword or an axe we might damage it so much that we can’t use it.”
“We can’t risk it.” Hiccup decides, kneeling down to pick up the pelt. “I guess we’ll have to share.”
He hands the pelt to you and passes out the blankets, one to Ruffnut and a larger one to FIshlegs.
“No way am I sharing with you!” Tuffnut says as he tries to wrestle the blanket away from his twin.
“I don’t want to share with you anyway!”
“Guys, guys stop!” Hiccup tries and fails to get their attention. “Whatever, Fishlegs isn’t gonna fit under a blanket with anyone else, so you’re on your own.”
“Fine by me!” The gentle giant smiles, holding his blanket close to his chest.
“That just leaves us.” Astrid mumbles as a blush spreads across her cheeks.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, you expect Snotlout and I to share the pelt?” You glance between Snotlout and your other friends.
“Unless you want to take one of the twins…” Astrid offers.
You turn your head to see the two Thorstons rolling around in the dirt, forgetting the blanket they’re fighting over.
“I’m up for it if you are.” Snotlout says in his usual flirtatious tone.
“Save it.” You scoff.
“For what, when we’re curled up together under the moonlight?”
You wait a moment for Astrid and Hiccup to wander over to the tree line as they begin to collect sticks for a fire, then you turn on Snotlout.
“I don’t want to ruin this for Hiccup because he’s my friend, Astrid too. They don’t get away much. But, keep this up, and I’ll switch so you’re stuck with Hiccup. Got it?”
“All right, all right. Sheesh, no need to be so harsh.” Snotlout’s face drops and, for a moment, it seems like he might get through the night with a decent level of dignity.
As the twin’s fighting dies down when they’ve forgotten why they were fighting, the group gets a fire started. By the flames, on all sides, you make your beds. Fishlegs smooths out the dirt underneath him and pulls out a little doll resembling Meatlug from seemingly nowhere. Hiccup and Astrid stretch their blanket out, giving each other a respectable amount of space that will dwindle once they’re asleep and unconsciously roll into one another’s arms. The twins are both sitting under their blanket, giggling about something Ruffnut found by the lake not far from here.
All of the group is settling in nicely for the night. Except for you and Snotlout. No matter how you tug at the pelt, seemingly a bear’s now that you’ve been messing with it enough, you can’t arrange in a way that keeps you from touching each other. No matter what, you’re going to be snuggling close if you don’t want your feet to freeze. As the night gets one you settle for facing away from him, your back pressing lightly against his chest. But just as you close your eyes, there’s an annoying noise that wakes you.
“Your teeth are clattering.” You note, quiet enough for only your bedmate to hear.
“I can’t help it, it’s cold.” He argues.
You sigh, pushing a bit more of the pelt to him. It may expose you to the cool air flowing between the ground and the furry cover, but it keeps Snotlout content and quiet. Soon enough you find your shivers overtaking you, making i impossible to sleep.
“If you scoot closer we can fit the pelt over us better.” Snotlout mumbles, half asleep.
“Not even in your wildest dreams.” You tuck your arms in as tight as you can, trying to keep yourself warm.
“It’s not like that. You’re cold, I’m warm, it’s not fair.”
“If you ever bring this up-“
“I just don’t want you to freeze.”
You hesitantly scoot inward, letting your back press solidly against Snotlout’s chest. The blanket falls to the ground again with that extra half inch of slack. You’re able to pull it in just a bit to keep the cold air from sneaking through.
“I think it might be every warmer if I wrapped my arms-“
“Shut up.” You cut him off.
For once, he does shut up at your request. Now, enveloped in warmth, you’re able to peacefully drift off into sleep. A particularly loud crackle from the fire wakes you in the middle of the night. You shut your eyes again to sleep, but an unfamiliar feeling makes you stay awake. Underneath the pelt, Snotlout has his arm loosely draped over your torso. You’ll never admit just how nice it feels.

Httyd characters seeing you in their clothes
ft. hiccup, tuffnut, eret, snotlout, astrid, ruffnut
Tumblr media
⤷ Hiccup
Hiccup was in his workroom working on new tail for Toothless when he heard your steps. He didn't turn to look at you but it was past a midnight so who else would be in his house. 'It's late darling, you should go to sleep' he said. You hugged him from behind and that was the moment when he saw sleeve from his green t-shirt. He turns to look at you and saw you in his t-shirt. 'Come to the bed with me, I will help you with this tomorrow.' you said. Hiccup was still admiring you but nod and kiss your forehead. 'You should wear it more often you look cute.' he said before going in a bed with you.
⤷ Tuffnut
You were with Ruffnut babysitting Meatlug's babies because she had toothache so Fishlegs took her to Gobber. And you both were dirty when you come back into her house because babysitting those demons isn't easy. You decided to change but you didn't have a spare clothes. So Ruffnut gave you some shirt. When you changed you heard Ruffnut yelling at someone. You came to her to see what's happening and saw Tuffnut who was searching for his shirt and when he turn to yell back at his sister, he freeze. You have his t-shirt and you looked super cute. A smirk show up on his face when he said: 'Never mind, you look better in it anyways, cutie.'
⤷ Eret
It was cold outside and when it's cold weather at Berk, it's freezing inside the house. Eret was helping some viking with his ship but he should be back in a few minutes. You were freezing, you had socks and t-shirt with long sleeves but it wasn't enough. You saw Eret's bear fur so you decided to put it on because it looked very warm. After a few minutes Eret came home and saw you sleeping on a couch. He also noticed you had his bear fur. But you looked really peaceful so he didn't wake you up. He just kissed your head and whisper little 'sweet dreams'. But he would definitely tease you tomorrow about it, just a little
⤷ Snotlout
Snotlout was in his room searching for new t-shirt because Hookfang 'accidentally' burn the one he was wearing. But he couldn't find any. Suddenly you open the door to his bedroom and peaked out your head to look at him. 'Do you want something to eat?' you asked him. It was around 3 p.m. and Snotlout didn't have a lunch, yet so you thought he maybe is hungry. He turn to look and answer you but instead of answering, he smirk. 'Oh look what we got here, you look hot babe, but yes I'm hungry.' he said when he smacked your ass, making his way into the kitchen.
⤷ Astrid
You were sick and Astrid was on her way to your house with some medicine. When she open the door of your bedroom she saw how messy you were. You had pale skin and you looked very very tired. But that wasn't the only thing she saw. She also saw you in her red t-shirt which she was trying to find for days. 'How are you feeling baby? Also you look amazing in your new clothes' she teased a bit. You smiled at her while you tapped on an empty place right next to you. Astrid understood really quickly and come to you for cuddles. She put her arms around your waist and pulled you closer. She doesn't care if she would get sick, she just wants to cuddle you.
⤷ Ruffnut
Ruffnut and you had sleepover in her house because Tuffnut was with Snoutlout. Ruffnut was in the kitchen making some easy food. So you had a time to change into your pyjama. But you had different idea. Right now you were looking in Ruffnut's closet, for some shirt you could sleep in. And you find a perfect one. It was her dark blued t-shirt. When you changed, Ruffnut opened the door. 'I made some food and drinks for us and- oohhh look like I have here sweet dessert.' she said. She made her way to you, put her hands around your neck and kiss your lips.

Scent Headcanon — Httyd Omegas
Tumblr media
Notes: I have rewatched Race to the Edge so many times, I know it's plot by heart now.
Warnings: spoilers of Race to the Edge on Viggo's, might contain grammar errors
»» Dagur smells like a campfire and wood, with all the time he spent on a boat while he worked with the dragon hunters, he also has a faint smell of the ocean. When he gets mad, his scent becomes smoky, like an entire fire.
»» Because of his hobbies and workaholic tendencies, Hiccup's scent has merged with the things he uses. So he smells like a mixture of ink, paper, leather, and metal. When he gets angry his scent spikes and the metal smell becomes way stronger than the others.
»» Because of Hookfang's ability to set themselves on fire, also all of the fightings Snotlout gets in, he lost most of his natural scent, so people can only smell the burnt leather and smoke. But when he gets angry, his actual scent comes out more, so he smells like mango and fresh-cut grass.
»» Now Viggo's scent changes after he falls into the volcano. Before he smelt like ocean, wood, and river stones, but now he smells like burnt skin, fire, and ash. When angry his smell also becomes smoky, but is quite intoxicating and not in a good way, so he tends to control it.

The world was different for the boy that lived in the icy nest with the Alpha dragon. He was considered royalty among the rest of the winged creatures, and they all loved him dearly. Even outside the nest, dragons would flock all around to help him. He was found on a boat, abandoned by the rest as an infant. The boy was saved by two night furies that had brought him to the dragon nest.
The two didn't stay for long, but would come by to check on him. Y/n had spent two years learning how to act like the dragons. They would all take turns to care for the boy and Y/n would take care of them. Y/n would start helping out with raids as he rode one of the many dragons, usually commanding them what to grab and what to do. Even if he looked two years old, Y/n was a powerful soul.
After returning to the nest after the most recent raid, Y/n called out to the sky in hopes that his night fury friends would hear his call. The gods had answered his prayer as two pitch black dragons flew down and looked down to the h/c haired boy. Y/n's e/c eyes gleamed with excitement as he quickly got onto the e/c eyed night fury. The three of them flew up into the blue sky, Y/n grinning wide. The two dragons opened their mouths to shoot into the air, causing Y/n to giggle and kick his legs.
One of the shots was right in front of Y/n, and he screamed out in excitement as his face was covered in smoke and his hair slicked back. Y/n leaned his body down onto the dragon he was riding as he stroked his head. The other night fury made jealous grumbles as he flew right below the other. Y/n smiled at him and walked off the e/c eyed night fury, slipping down its wing to be caught by the green-eyed night fury. Y/n hugged the dragon, feeling so content at the moment.
“I love you guys so much. I promise I won't let anything bad happen to you.”
Y/n then roared out into the sky as it rumbled through the wind. The roar sounded like a dragon, as others roared in response. Many other dragons had flocked around the night furies and Y/n commanded them forward just as a king did to his subjects. They all followed as the green-eyed night fury took the lead, with Y/n still riding him, guiding them to a pool of fish. Y/n pointed down at the pool, causing all the dragons around to dive and catch their food.
“Everyone go eat! And save some for the other's back home!”
All the dragons growled in agreement as they all caught various amounts of fish. Y/n then instructed the night fury to fly down with the other dragons as Y/n collected as much fish as he could. Once the fish in the ocean were gone, Y/n had everyone fly back to the nest to feed the others. On the way Y/n snacked on one of the many raw fish he caught, sharing some pieces between the two night furies. The night furies dropped him off in front of the nest as he walked in with a deadly nadder.
He was so excited to share what he got with his huge dragon family. Y/n walked deeper into the icy nest, and to get all the dragon's attention he did his dragon call. It echoed throughout the whole nest, as all the dragons turned their attention to the small boy. Some dragons flew down to crowd Y/n, curious to what he had brought. Y/n jumped up and down in excitement, even if this was a daily thing.
“Time to eat! I brought everyone food!”
Y/n held up the fish he got and threw all the others to the expecting dragons. They all roared in delight, thanking the small boy for the food as he went to where the baby dragons were flying. He loved watching how carefree they were, even if they could be annoying sometimes. The baby dragons had found Y/n and started to pull him to their small nest. The parent dragon that was taking care of them today tried to pull the babies off of Y/n, but he insisted it was fine.
This was a daily occurrence, and Y/n loved feeling wanted by the babies. They only ever listened to him, as did all dragons, but the babies were a special case because they listen to no one. Y/n sat down in the nest with a baby Hideous Zippleback sitting in his lap. The other babies tried to push and shove the baby dragon, but Y/n held his hand up to stop them. The other babies stopped as the Zippleback cuddled into Y/n's small lap.
“You will all get your turns little ones, just a bit of patience.”
Y/n then started to pet and preen the Zippleback as its two heads caused small sparks of happiness. Y/n loved when the dragons had a small fiery reaction to him just being there. It was much how the night furies were when Y/n rode them in the sky. Y/n giggled as some sparks caught onto his hair, panicking the overseeing dragon. A big dragon paw hit Y/n’s face as the overseeing dragon pat out the small fire that started on Y/n’s h/c hair.
As Y/n helped clean the Zippleback, a baby monstrous nightmare and snuggled up to Y/n’s side. The other baby dragons saw this and all piled Y/n, causing him to fall back to the ground. Y/n was slightly suffocated by all the weight on his chest, making the overseeing dragon panic once more. Y/n was flailing in the pile, trying to breathe while the overseeing dragon pulled the babies off. The babies started to whine as they tried to get back onto Y/n, only to be stopped by the overseeing dragon.
Y/n couldn’t help but burst out laughing at how needy the baby dragons were. The overseeing dragon bumped into Y/n’s back, making sure he was okay. He slung the dragon’s head over his shoulder and started to stroke its nose in hopes of calming it down. The baby dragons all flew away to go do whatever the gods know what, and Y/n’s waist had been trapped by the overseeing dragon’s tail.
Y/n leaned into the overseeing dragon as one of its wings were draped over Y/n's lap. Y/n marveled at all the dragons that flew around the nest seeing how happy they looked. He closed his eyes with a soft smile, leaning deeper into the dragon that was cuddling him. The same zippleback Y/n was cleaning had placed itself back onto Y/n’s lap and fell asleep. Many of the other baby dragons had done the same, creating a cuddle pile.
This was the routine Y/n had lived by for ten full years, and he couldn't complain. There was this itch in his brain that he couldn't ignore, however. The other dragons had noticed the way Y/n looked at himself in the reflection in the water, and the majority conclusion to help was to steal books and items from the ships they looted. On usual raids, Y/n would only ever ask the dragons to steal food and help the other dragons that were trapped. On these raids, Y/n never went as the dragons claimed them to be too dangerous for him to join, but it was all because they wanted to bring these books and items back as presents.
Y/n had read through each and every book he had ever received from the dragons. Over the next five years he had memorized each and every page. The information felt so new to him, this was the other half of who he was. A viking brain and a dragon heart, both making him tough through and through. One book scared him though, the dragon killing book.
He knew that vikings had killed dragons, but he never wanted to admit it. He wanted to believe his dragon friends were safe from harm. But out in the open world, Y/n could only do so much. Y/n had wandered out of the nest and onto one of the rock formations connected to it, watching the dragons fly away to do whatever they wanted. Y/n then stumbled as he felt a gronkle nudge him closer to the edge.
Y/n started to panic the closer he got to the edge of the water, not wanting to get wet. Y/n heard the frenzy of dragons flying above him, a boat being pushed closer to Y/n. The boy was left confused as he looked at each and every dragon. A monstrous nightmare had brought Y/n his books and tossed them into the boat, pulling Y/n into it soon after. Y/n stood at the edge of the boat as all the dragons of the nest flew out and stood around the boy.
“What’s going on? Is everything okay?”
The dragons all roared out in response, a low flame from their mouths lit up the area. Y/n finally understood what was going on. This was a farewell to Y/n as they all kept roaring. Y/n felt tears drip down his cheek as he was finally able to go out and explore. Y/n started to push the boat as he waved to the dragons.
He couldn’t help but cry as he was leaving his home, his family. Y/n started to sail slowly away, but his boat started to rock slightly. He looked over the edge of the boat to see scauldrons helping him push his boat along. His tears dripped into the water as one scauldron rose its head out of the water to lick Y/n and gently squirt semi warm water on his face. Y/n giggled as his tears mixed with the salty seawater.
Y/n had sailed like this for a month, before the scauldrons had to leave to find food elsewhere. Y/n understood and waved them off, as he was now alone. His boat floated in the sea, in no particular direction. All Y/n had were his books, so he decided to reread them over and over. Sometimes he would pass other viking’s ships and hear them singing, intriguing Y/n.
He picked them up and would hum these sea songs to himself whenever he got bored with the books he read. He sailed for about two months, or what seemed like it because Y/n had no sense of time. It was dark as the moon reflected the moonlight. Y/n was laying on the boat’s floor as he slept soundly. Y/n’s boat suddenly crashed into a nearby rock formation, destroying the front of the boat and making it sink.
The sound of crashing had alerted the chief of the island Y/n had crashed on. He ran toward the location and saw the boy almost being consumed by water, his books completely drowned and surrounding the boy. The chief dove into the icy water and brought the small boy to the shore. He called a few men to save the books while he pulled the small boy out of the water. Y/n yawned as he stretched his small arms and looked at the man holding him with his e/c eyes.
The chief looked at the boy with a raised eyebrow, curious as to how such a small child sailed here all by himself. It concerned the muscular man, and the others that had now surrounded the chief. The chief’s wife ran up and saw the boy he was holding, taken aback that such a young boy had crashed into Berk. Y/n looked to the chief and then to the woman that had stood right next to him. He had seemingly no concern for almost drowning.
“Where am I? And who are you all?”
The chief sighed in relief and put the small boy down on the floor as he stood by himself. The group of people were amazed by the boy surviving in the frigid water after crashing. The chief’s wife knelt down and checked the boy for any wounds, as if she was his own mother. One of the chief’s greatest friends that had a peg leg and a hooked hand joined the group to see the boy. The chief knelt down next to his wife and put his large hand on the boy's small shoulder.
“You are on the island of Berk. And where might you have sailed from?”
Y/n thinks for a moment to try to think of a place to say, but he can’t think of any. Y/n looks up at the chief, messing with the hem of his shirt. The chief had tilted his head in curiosity, trying to make sense of the boy’s actions of trying to self soothe. The chief’s wife kept her hands tenderly on the boy’s cheeks and looked at him with gentle eyes. Y/n felt an odd sense of comfort here.
“I do not know where I came from. I just sailed from the open ocean until I crashed onto this island.”
The group that surrounded the boy started to murmur themselves in whispers they thought Y/n couldn’t hear. Y/n looked around the group with curious, childlike eyes that could melt any soul into a puddle. But those very eyes held that of a dragon's. The chief's wife saw it in the boy, the soul he had and she was enthralled. The chief had a questioning look on his face, trying to find any reason why a young boy like the one in front of him would have sailed all the way out here on his own.
"I see. Well, I am Stoick the Vast. You have landed on Berk."
From that point on Y/n became apart of Stoick’s family. He was treated as just another Berkian by everyone else, even though his view on dragon hunting was different. Time went on, and Y/n became incredibly close with the village’s smith, Gobber. The two were a colorful duo, Y/n indulging in Gobber’s stories and Gobber teaching Y/n about dragon history as well as inventing.
Stoick found the pair to be quite troublesome, but found it endearing nonetheless. Stoicks’ wife loved Y/n as if he were one of his own. She saw eye to eye with y/n about not wanting to hurt dragons and seeing no reason for it. Y/n was seemingly able to win everyone over.
After three years, people began to notice the lack of Y/n aging physically. Many tried to ask the boy, but he always managed to dodge the question. It always made Y/n really uncomfortable whenever he was asked. He just found his new family, there wasn’t anything that would pull him away from it.
It unsettled the chief, but Y/n never seemed to be affected when eating the raw fish so he tried to keep his worries low. In his mind the child was odd no doubt, but having Y/n with him for so long Stoick got attached. Stoick then decided to make it a rule for the village to never question Y/n’s habits or lack of aging.
Stoick had noticed Y/n’s uncomfortable feelings around the questions pertaining to his lack of physical aging, but there were more things he had noticed about the boy. Whenever Y/n would eat, his teeth would show, and they seemed sharper than normal. Not only that but Y/n only seemed to have a craving for fish, raw.
Over the three years of staying in Berk, Y/n tried his hardest to convince people not to hurt the dragons. It happened so often, the other vikings started to think Y/n was crazy. No one said that to his face though out of fear of Stoick’s wrath. Stoick tried to explain the reason for hunting dragons over and over but Y/n never accepted those reasons.
Things changed however, when the chief had a son. His birth son who was named Hiccup. Y/n was excited because not only was it someone who he could connect with at his age, but another person to his found family. Hiccup also changed Y/n because as soon as he was born, Y/n started to age physically.
The two boys grew up together, Y/n teaching Hiccup about the world and following Stoick everywhere to learn about the history of Berk. Hiccup found a passion with dragons, watching them from afar and seeing his father hunt them. Y/n noticed this affinity and decided to nurture it.
Y/n told Hiccup all that he knew about dragons, even things that other vikings never knew. Many considered the information to be made up or embellished, but it had Hiccup hooked. The two explored and did everything together. Y/n metaphorically attached himself to Hiccup, going everywhere Hiccup went.
As the two aged, both were considered weird and different. Albeit for different reasons, but they were reasons nonetheless. It was another thing the two boys connected over. Being outcasted by the village and having differences that others didn’t agree with.
When Hiccup was busy, Y/n found himself at the forge. Y/n’s other friend was Gobber. He loved helping him with inventions and weapon building. It became a pastime for the two to create new weapons and learn how to improve old ones. Gobber was another best friend to Y/n.
The closer Y/n got with Gobber, the more the urge to tell him about his past grew stronger. Gobber seemed to notice Y/n’s hesitance around him and the little slip ups when Y/n spoke to him. Eventually, Gobber decided to question the boy’s behavior. Both were in the forgery, working on weapons for the village.
“Mind telling me what all this talk of living with dragons means?”
Y/n immediately dropped the weapons he was working on, onto the floor. Fear crept up into his heart and he looked utterly dumbfounded. How did Gobber find out? Well to Y/n’s obliviousness, it was Y/n’s own fault.
Y/n turned around slowly, but kept his head down. Gobber raised an eyebrow at the boy’s behavior, but kept his silence. He wanted to hear the full story, he wanted to know about the boy’s past. It felt only right to Gobber that he knew based off how long Y/n’s been around him. Y/n took a deep breath and decided this was the time.
“It means how it sounds. Before I crashed onto Berk, I lived with dragons. I was raised by them. They taught me how to fish and survive. But then I left and well you know the rest after that…”
There was an uncomfortable silence between the two. It was only interrupted when Y/n went back to the weapons he dropped. The clanking of the weapons being placed on the table sounded more deafening as Y/n waited for a response from Gobber. Y/n’s mind raced with all the terrible what if scenarios.
“Well that's certainly on par with my dragon stories, wouldn’t you think?”
“Huh?”
That wasn’t a response Y/n was expecting at all. Sure, Gobber had his own tales of adventuring and such, but comparing it to Y/n’s was something the boy didn’t quite understand. Gobber only laughed at Y/n’s confusion and proceeded to tell him stories of how he lost his leg and hand. This ended up taking half the day and no new weapons were made.
The forgery were full of shared anecdotes and laughs. Y/n felt safer than he did before with Gobber knowing his secret. One thing that still plagued Y/n’s mind though was if Gobber was going to tell Stoick. Gobber noticed Y/n’s shift in mood once more.
“What’s on your mind, kiddo.”
Y/n stiffened once more, caught off guard with how perceptive Gobber was. It honestly astounded Y/n that he was, but he also remembered how close Gobber was to Stoick and all the battles the two fought with each other.
“You’re not going to tell Stoick are you?”
“Tell Stoick what, exactly?”
“My past… What I had shared with you.. Can you please not tell Stoick?”
Gobber had nodded, understanding Y/n’s unease with the chief knowing Y/n’s true past and who he really was. Albeit his past did explain Y/n’s strange behaviors and his defense for dragons, but Berk’s chief is one who is not as open-minded. After that, the two went back to chatting and just sharing stories once more.
Over the years, Y/n grew up in this new world as a viking. Learning and training, but not to hurt dragons. No, but to defend them and his found family from them. Y/n would convince Stoick to have Hiccup help with Gobber in the forge, much to Stoick’s dismay and concern. Hiccup would learn how to invent things with Y/n always by his side.
Y/n’s new home was not ready for Y/n, however. The gods seemingly having different plans for the boy. One faithful night would prove that Y/n’s two worlds of vikings and dragons would converge. Be it for better or for worse.

this axe I drew for a HTTYD fan fic
Tumblr media
Sample from Chapter 22
"Hey, Gobber!" I said as loudly as I could over Grump's snoring.
"Quiet, ya lazy beastie!" Gobber nudged the dragon to quiet him. Grump groaned but quieted.
"I've come for the axe. Is it ready?"
"Of course." Gobber picked up a sturdy looking axe with a leather cover hiding the blade. "One ornate axe ready for Snoggletog, as promised."
I undid the buckle of the cover and examined the beautiful steel blade. It was ornate and not as strong as Gronckle iron since it was meant to be a fireplace hanging but would still make a beautiful battle axe with a deadly cut if needed. The engraving was a copy of my own art; a Monsterous Nightmare head and a love knot. I'd spent a lot of time creating the design and Gobber had spent even more time carving it into the blade in the last two weeks. I didn't think Gobber had spent a single free moment not working on this axe.
"Engraving that beauty was a labor of love, lass. Hope it's for someone real important to ya."
"It is." I rebuckled the cover and set the second half of Gobber's pay on his work bench. He definitely deserved more and I decided I'd have to give him a little extra when I had extra on me to give.
Gobber smiled. "Good on ya, lassie. Happy Snoggltog."
"Happy Snoggltog, Gobber." I waved as I left the shop.

Hi hi!! How are you?
I was wondering if you have any continuation for The jealous one (or other), otherwise no problem!
Have a nice day <3
The Jealous One pt 3
Pairing: Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III x Fem!Reader
Words: 3,492
Hiccup tries to catch your attention. You remain stubbornly obtuse and subtly obstinate.
Tags: fem!reader, silly, ambiguous timeline, Snotlout Jorgenson, Ruffnut and Tuffnut Thorston, suggestive content, Jealous!Hiccup, Post RoB/DoB, Pre-RTTE
<Previous - Next>
“Hello,” You managed, as you squeezed between two large, metal-breasted women.
You were barely able to hold back the urge to break out into a jolly skip, remembering with glee the look on Phlegma’s face when she’d been greeted with a hall half full of greenish sheep.
You had plans and people waiting for you, though nothing could ever be important enough to keep you from enjoying the smell of fresh air and rainy weather. Currently, the village had just broken free of a drizzle, the clouds parting in order to welcome through soft sunlight which danced, tingling across the skin of your face.
“Good morning,” You wished with cheer as you passed by Burthair, who balked as you curled your lips upwards. Your apparent reputation as sullen, timid, and alone did you wonders so it must have been an awful shock to see you so bright and chipper.
You tapped your toes against the stone foundation marking the beginning of the forge hoping to knock off any loose, dry mud before you tracked it inside, though you were sure it was for naught. There was already a steady line of dirt leading into the forge made up of large, round dragon prints, bookmarks and small rounded crescents you were certain belonged to Gobber’s peg.
“Hello,” You called at a hunched back, connected to a body which was standing before one of the long benches set around the area, one of his arms extended to scribble something down on a piece of parchment while he scanned a book, keeping track of the lines with his right hand.
A lanky set of shoulders startled before Hiccup, the one and only, set his stick down with a level of finality, shoulders falling as he turned, red undershirt crumpled and covered in smudges. His face was also smudged, and you would have had the mind to worry about the state of his book if you had the care and weren’t in such a hurry.
“Hey,” Hiccup said, turning around and running a hand through his hair, leaving dark streaks behind as he did it. You knew how incredibly dirty his pillow was because of it.
You grinned lopsidedly, wondering how much brighter his hair would be if he’d washed it more often.
He seemed startled to see you smile so bright, a hesitant smile of his own jumping across his mouth. The light from the open window and the side of the forge hit his face pleasantly, lighting the freshly defined shape of his jaw and the high bone of his cheek. It looked soft.
Your ears pinked. You weren’t sure you’d felt this great since you were kids. Or at least since you were fifteen. It wasn’t often that you saw him without his leather anymore. You admired him without it, skinny frame and all.
You shook that thought away, walking in further, circling to face him as he moved throughout the open room.
“You had a long night?” You asked as you eyed the tired tilt to Hiccup’s eyes and the exhaustive bruising underneath, “I’m sorry I wasn’t here to keep you company.”
Hiccup shut his eyes, furrowing his brow and shaking his head as he looked away, “It’s alright.”
You shrugged your shoulders as if you were feeling them out, trying to dispel some of the nervous energy locked in your nonexistent, but growing, still, of course, muscles.
“So…?” Hiccup began.
“So?” You asked, before realizing, lips quirking into an awful, dopey approximation of a grin. Right. And you had to be quick.
“Snot used up all his Zippleback Gas capsules,” You said, finally. When in doubt, blame Snotlout. He was running low too, of course. Because you’d stolen a few.
You hoped he hadn’t noticed.
“Really?” Hiccup rubbed his hands off on a rag, wiping away dark ash and oil.
You brushed aside all thoughts of Snotlout to ogle at Hiccup again, wondering what it would be like to press your lips to his, chapped and scratched from all his time up in the air. What all that smoke, wind and metal would taste like mixed with spit.
It was very indulgent. You were sure you’d given up on things like that a long time ago, between conversations about Astrid, girlfriends and shooting down dragons, though some fluttery nasty feeling in your stomach reared its head. You were absolutely sure there must have been something in the air to have your face heating up the way it did, and so you were determined not to stew on it as you had for so many nights before.
Hiccup hesitated, stuck in the space between words, brows furrowed as he stared you in the eyes. It was still, quiet for a moment before he spoke again, “I’ll get you some more.”
He opened his mouth again, then shut it, holding back and looking a little guilty for it.
You sighed, fingers twitching.
Hiccup looked down, nodding, leaning against the forge window, “So, are you free…?”
“Ah, no,” Your shoulders stiffened, already partially turned away as you began to take a few steps backwards. You were a bit surprised that he had asked, certain that he wouldn’t have missed your absence the past couple of days.
He seemed kind of bummed at that, and maybe a little confused, the corner of his mouth tilting wide, brows quirked as he turned back towards his desk.
“I have to go,” You said awkwardly, grimacing and rubbing the back of your neck, as you began to back out. You had someone waiting for you, after all.
“Yeah, sure, but-! Will you be-” Hiccup turned back around quickly “-free, soon? Wait-!”
“-Unless you’re trying to light it up with Zippleback gas, in which case- Fishlegs just published a study on that, see, it says that, on page thirty-four-” You gestured with your arms, standing in front the rest of your gang, slumped over a large set of crates in the fields.
“Gods, just shut up,” Snotlout groaned as you spent their attention enthusiastically.
Still somehow you got dragged into another chore with the Jorgenson. You were certain now that everyone thought you to be two of a kind, especially as you began to hang out more and more, which left you slightly unsettled but joyful yet still.
You had run into the twins along the way, but Tuffnut had been long since gone, and Ruffnut’s had followed soon after, though she had the mind when she was there to nod along occasionally and drop a snipe even as her eyes drifted, so as to at least give the impression that she was paying any sort of attention. Maybe that was why Fishlegs liked her so much.
You were just simply on a break between tasks as you waited for Johannes to get back to you with a list of things he needed doing. He’d even offered coins this time, which kept you from running off with Hookfang.
Snotlout was incapable of handling himself during any sort of long conversation or lecture, period. You didn’t mind, however; you were just eager for the opportunity to talk someone’s ear off, and you found that you didn’t feel bad for him at all.
Valhalla knew it had been a while.
“No,” You said, “Anyways, since- Have you taken a look at Bork’s notes recently? Honestly, even though they were edited, so they’re not reliable, of course, I still think the bit on N-...”
You trailed off in your quest to remind Snotlout why it had taken you so long to become friends in the first place as you felt a tap on your shoulder. You jumped, for a moment, turning to meet Hiccup in the eye.
“Anyways, I’ll tell you more about it tomorrow, but- Uh-hm… What was I going to say..?”
You wrinkled your nose as you turned, a bit disappointed to have been interrupted. The two of you hadn’t talked in a while so you were certain that whatever was coming next wouldn’t be so good.
“Can I go now?” You waved Snotlout off as he complained.
“I-” Hiccup started twitchily, before continuing on, “Are you free?”
“Not- not right now,” Hiccup shuffled nervously, at your look, before trying again, “But I’ll be free before the sun’s half down, if you have the time. Though I still have to-”
Snotlout seemed generally uninterested in what you were doing, head on his fist as his head bobbed, struggling not to fall back asleep.
“Damn,” You grumbled under your breath as you watched his shoulders slump then start as he blinked back to wakefulness.
Hiccup glared at Snotlout moodily, looking like one of Johannes’ sad hunting dogs.
You squinted at him, “Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I’m sure,” Hiccup said, scuffing his foot into the dirt as he began to shuffle away, “I’ll meet you later? By the Great Hall?”
You shrugged, “Maybe.”
You watched blankly as Hiccup disappeared around the bend and unsurely made your way back to Snotlout.
“Who took a dump in his boot?” Snotlout griped.
You didn’t deign him with an answer. You weren’t sure how.
You quickly stumbled up the steps to the Great Hall, boots half filled with dirt and a hefty stick lodged down the back of your shirt.
You had lost track of time quickly, easily falling into quick banter and working hard at the promise of coins to spend down at the docks. When you had finally finished and Johannes had finally had the mind to let you leave without any hassle, the sky had already begun to darken and you had realized with a start that you were very, very late.
The sky now was past dark, going from orange to blue and black as you finally made your way up to the top before you were able to bend over and heave, breaths coming quick and heavy as you finished your sprint across the island.
When you finally had enough air to stand back up, you looked around, eyes scanning across half dead half alive grass, listening to the squeaking and chirping of bugs as they came out to explore the night.
“Huh,” You said finally, after a moment. It was empty. You were all too familiar with Hiccup’s penchant for getting dragged away by some task or other, a quest from his father or a want of Gothi or Gobber’s.
Still, an amount of disappointment in yourself and the circumstance, as well as a small curl of guilt made itself known in your chest. You knew how it felt to be left waiting.
Against all odds, you tried not to let it consume you, though, sure that Hiccup had probably forgotten about it all anyways.
It had been a few days since you’d run up to an empty hall and you had hardly seen Hiccup around at all. If you didn’t know any better, you were sure you would have believed him to be avoiding you.
You were sure you would see him around soon, though you couldn’t help but to worry.
As such, you became quickly aware of a shadow fastly approaching from your left, as it grew bigger and hovered above you momentarily before continuing forwards, heavy wingbeats blowing against your hair.
When a quick glance back refused to bear any fruit, you turned your attention back to the bundle of Dragon Nip in your hand, dried and held together by a string which you hung above Snotlout as he shouted and grabbed for it.
You were kneeled over the large stone wall at the base of the hill on the way up the Chief’s hut, one hand clutching the wall as you bounced and dangled the string.
The usual Dragon Nip spots had been harvested to dirt, and Snotlout was too busy doing whatever he did on his lonesome to even search for seeds, not before it was too late.
“Hey!” Snotlout scowled as you stuck your tongue down at him, smiling benignly. You quite enjoyed looking down on him from above.
You had low stamina but, as you found, with how lazy he had been getting flying everywhere on Hookfang, it was enough for you to just barely run circles around him.
“Hey, Hooks! Give me a hand!”
Said dragon grumbled, laying behind him, head on his clawed wings, resting in the sun like a lazy, fat cat.
His eyes were closed, though occasionally he’d snort amusedly and flick his tail, paying vague attention. His gaze might have been just as raptly kept on the grass if you hadn’t raked your hands just under his jaw earlier, dropping a few blades into his open maw, Snotlout none the wiser. So, at the moment, it seemed as if he was just pleasantly out of it, taking in the cool morning breeze.
You heard a thump before the familiar gurgle of Toothless, as he landed just behind Snotlout, stepping and hopping lightly as he landed.
It was not soon after that that Hiccup dismounted, swinging his leg off Toothless and stumbling to his feet.
“Hiccup?” You asked, just as Snotlout let out his own annoyed exclamation.
“Urgh. Watch where you’re going!”
“Hey,” Hiccup said nasally, rubbing sticks and twigs out of his hair, before grumpily greeting Snotlout.
“Cool it, twinkle toes,” Snotlout didn’t fail to notice the bite in his tone, smearing and snarking back, “What do you want?
Hiccup glowered at him sourly.
You held back a laugh as you began your climb down the side of the top of the stone wall, Dragon Nip bundle still in hand.
You jerked back as a branch from one of the bushes to your side caught on the side of your tunic and scowled to yourself, putting the Nip under your armpit as you fumbled with the branch, trying your hardest to undo it.
“Fishlegs is on his way over,” Hiccup mumbled under his breath irascibly, as you trotted up to them.
Once free, you walked forward, noticing with glee how quickly Snotlout had turned his attention away from you, who was trying to move as quietly as possible.
“I didn’t catch that. Do you mind repeating it?” Snotlout jabbed smugly.
“Fishlegs is on his way over!” You shouted loudly, laughing again as he jumped away, hands over his ears, no doubt nursing sore drums before turning his scowl onto you.
You turned towards Hiccup. He looked, in part, ruffled, eyes wide, lips quirked downwards though you found him no less charming and no less saddening as you did before, especially, as you were suddenly reminded, after you had left him waiting at the Great hall.
You slumped slightly, brows cinching and lips turning down, about to mumble a sullen apology for the other day before you felt a heavy weight crash into your side.
Perhaps realizing you were now at his level, once you were turned away, Snotlout began to scramble for you.
You yelped as he grabbed for the bundle of Nip, shouting nonsensically and running around Hiccup, keeping close to his back and using him as a human shield.
“Give it to me!” Snotlout shouted, “You don’t even have a dragon!”
Hiccup stared at the two of you, brows furrowed disconcertingly the whole time, head swiveling in an effort to keep up, arms up in an effort to keep balance, nearly tripping over his own feet.
“No!” You scoffed, shouting back wheezily, knowing very well that if you didn’t give any to him, he’d have nothing for Hookfang for a good long while, “You snooze you lose.”
You startled as he feinted to Hiccup’s left, moving to his right. You ran the opposite direction, the two of you running circles around Hiccup.
“So what-” Hiccup panted, trying to keep up with you, who was already working up a sweat, trying to carry a bit-too-large basin in you arms, “What’s been going on between you and Snotlout?”
“What?” You shouted back, feet moving a bit too hurriedly for the load you kept wrapped in your arms.
Your eyes trained on the top of the hill as it grew nearer, legs working furiously to meet your goal.
“You and- Snotlout-?”Hiccup asked, prosthetic giving him slight trouble as you stumble-ran across a large incline, little red with plants, grass, rocks, roots and budding bushes on the other side of the large bridge leading out from the village.
“What?” You asked back distractedly, again, “I can’t hear-Whatever you’re asking, the answer is probably ‘no!’”
“Really? Because I really, really-”
You blocked him out slightly, though not on purpose, the effort you were already expending on working your legs and on keeping a bare grip on the smooth wood basin with sweaty palms making it difficult to pay attention.
You weren’t sure when Hiccup began tagging along, probably once you bridged the gap between the forest and, well, bridge. In all fairness, you were a bit too preoccupied to be sure.
You took a moment’s rest as you finally reached the top, surface plateauing and settling into a flat, open-ish only barely tree-ed plain. You walked past a set of trees into the grass, stopping by a shallow ditch filled with plants and bordered by roots.
Then, with a pitiful whine, you realized that you’d come the wrong way.
You heard there was a new outcropping of Dragon Nip on the other side of the island. You needed to get there before anyone else could harvest the spot dry, and before Snotlout could hear anything of it, so you rushed immediately to compensate. You hurried it up tenfold after the twins began putting in their own requests. So it wasn’t just you and Hookfang on the line.
You should have just told them to stick it. You grit your teeth with the realization, set now in your motivation to grab everything and not give them a bit. You’d sell it instead.
You turned, then, from the middle of the clearing, the head of your foot caught on a rock, causing you to stumble forward, into Hiccup.
“Son of a-”
The two of you grappled with the basin and with each other in an effort not to tumble, which ultimately ended in you losing your grip on it, sore and strained fingers twitching erratically as blood once again rushed through them.
You tried to go after the basin as he grasped your arm in a panic in an effort to keep steady, causing the two of you to fall, made all the worse by the subtle dip in the earth.
You hit your elbow as you fell, the world blurry and confusing until you came to a quick and dizzying stop, as if you’d been flipped.
It was a struggle, but you landed forwards, with your hands on both sides of Hiccup’s head.
Sun filtered through the leaves, light landing gently on his face, framing one cheekbone and the other eye, lightly caressing the sides of your face, covering you like a soft, thin, weighted blanket.
In the short moment you took to glance down at him, he was mid-blink. His brows were up high, and the set of his mouth and jaw were lax.
He looked stunned, most probably because of the weighty pressure of your torso against his gut and one knee pressed between his, the other on the outside of him, though you didn’t have much to take notice or to marvel, which was in part by design.
Why would you, when you knew for sure that this boy was one who wouldn’t marvel back?
Moments passed by in a hurry, a rush that should not have allowed you to even register a moment. The kind of rush of experiences and memories made to meshed and flow like a stone tumbling along a river, ephemeral and summed up by the emotions you felt in that exact instant.
Of course, you realized that had you slowed down you might have imagined a world where this would have seemed, to you, to be a magical moment. Perhaps there was something special about it, though you didn’t have much of a mind to care for anything besides the nip and the awful soft -but brief- look in the eyes of the boy below you. It really was quite the beautiful day out.
“Come on, come on,” You startled, pushing off the ground and rolling over him, ignoring his soft grunt, rushing and scrambling for a hold against the hill, grabbing for grass as you scrambled out of the ditch, running after your basin as it cracked against stone and rolled all the way down the hill and back towards the cliffs.
As you ran off, half rolling again down the hill back into the forest, you left Hiccup, turned over on his side with furrowed brows.
He pulled his hand, reaching to grab after you, back towards his middle, confused and startled tilt to his lips as he watched you go.
