It's such a minor detail but I absolutely love the way that the dialogue in the final battle against the Masked Man pauses as it's being written out. It really captures hesitation and uncertainty in Claus's movements as the combined efforts of Lucas and Hinawa finally get through to him; the first aching moments of him snapping out of his mind control and taking back his autonomy in years; the brief hesitation -- almost as though in shock and disbelief -- as the lightning deflects off the Franklin Badge and strikes Claus. It almost feels like the textboxes themselves are their own character or represent the emotional states of both Lucas and the player in that moment. Incredible.

#mother 3 #mother 3 spoilers #← spoiler tagging for a 17 year old game i guess #it's such a small thing to add to the moment especially with everything else going on yet it adds a sense of gravity to the situation #like you only know what's going on exactly because the textboxes tell you what's happening. so when it takes a moment #to say the next part it draws you in and immerses you in the same muddled feelings that lucas is going through #amazing game. 11/10 moment. who says you need hyper realistic graphics to really make you feel involved in the moment #(sorry for getting caught up in minor details 😔 it will happen again)

the two girls at the top are really messy if only because we made eye contact and I started chatting with them. They were quite lovely

the rest are:

Heya, I've been following for a bit and I really love your art. It inspires me too do art as well. Like wh art! Also cause I've always loved dragons. But anyway, I'd like to ask if you have any art tips? Like how you do fur, body shapes (human or etc), showing movement in drawing, etc, etc. Thanks for being awesome and have a lovely day!

hmmmm my best advice is to keep your pencil/penstrokes Gentle and Sweepy! when you press hard and make tiny lines instead of longer, lighter ones, your art will be more rigid. ya gotta loosen up a little!

also - and i will Always say this again and again - build up your visual inventory. study photos, real life, videos. especially videos. it helps you really See how animals (including humans) are put together, how they move, the squish n stretch, etc.

and! this may be a Hot Take idk! but you dont need to learn anatomy, at least not in the "take a real life class and once you can draw an accurate to life person/animal, you can stylize" like hmmmm no. try to visualize things as Puzzles! at least that's what helps me the most! everything is just a bunch of different shapes pieced together into a whole. once you understand that, it gets easier to play around with fluidity and style

#it also helps speed up the art process imo #instead of drawing One Big Thing #you're drawing a bunch of Small Simple Things!#but yeah dont overthink it. dont deathgrip your utensil. swoop your lines. puzzle pieces.#rambles from the bog #OH ALSO LINE OF MOVEMENT KINDA FUCKIN WORKS WHO KNEW!!!#i usually draw the head and then the line of movement and Assemble my puzzle following that #i hope this helped at least a little! have a wonderful day/night as the case may be as well!#ALSO IT DOESNT NEED TO BE HYPER REALISTIC OR ANYTHING #unless thats what youre going for! But! go for as much stylization as you want #who fuckin cares! there are no true rules for art!#any and all 'rules' are more like guidelines
