Honestly, I wasn't quite sure how to answer this! You likely didn't mean anything by it, but "bisexual het" really threw me for a loop 😭 😭 I would refrain from using that phrase in the future!

Anyway, I'm assuming you are looking for something like GSNK ❤️ Since I'm not sure what it is you like about GSNK, or who you are and what you usually read, I'll just recommend a bunch of stuff :p

I worked at a bookshop last year, so I'll start with my usual recommendations on LGBT+ manga/graphic novels (that are officially licensed in English). They're mostly coming-of-age stories. Linked is the instagram post with more recommendations, explanations, & summaries!

Also in this rec are: Manga with characters like Kashima (and relationships like HoriKashi)

I was gonna include a lot more, but this list is already pretty excessive 😅 This is scheduled to post tomorrow evening, but know I finished this at midnight!!!!!!!!!!!! (Happy Valentine's Day!!!)

Main Recommendations

My usual rotation of recommendations from back when I worked at a bookstore

Blue Flag by KAITO

8 volumes. My favourite series!! I have so many thoughts about it. Simplest way to summarize the theme of the series is in the first sentence, "Your best friend... or your lover. You can only save one." (implied: who would you choose?). Love triangle between the main character, Taichi, a shy female classmate, Futaba, and the main character's popular, childhood friend, Toma.

A lot of western fans complain about the ending, but I thought it was very fitting for the series. I might be biased because it's my favourite, and I can't necessarily justify myself without spoiling it >.<;; CW for homophobia & outing as a major conflict in a later volume.

Our Dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani

4 volumes. Beautiful visual metaphors. Main character comes to terms with being gay & overcoming his internalized-homophobia. CW for attempted suicide & homophobia.

The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang

1 volume. Focuses on gender identity and presentation!

Skip & Loafer by Misaki Tamamatsu

8 volumes (7 English localizations), ongoing. Has an anime coming out soon! I reread it recently and joined their fan server, but I'm just lurking ^^; I feel like people who enjoy GSNK would also enjoy this series.

Although it isn't explicitly queer unlike the other two recommendations. It's still very charming! I really like the main character and her aunt. Even though her aunt is a supporting character, the chapter that focused on her made me cry a lot. My favourite characters are actually the aunt and the drama club president (a side character... but given his role, it tracks LOL /hj) I remember when I first read it and didn't understand why people would call it WLW representation (I still enjoyed it though!) After my recent reread, I get it now >u< Even if it's not canon, I ship two of the main character's friends together. I'm very curious to other people's interpretations~ My wife doesn't really read the same things I do, so I have to wait to watch the anime with her when it comes out before we can discuss it together.

The Prince and the Dressmaker by Jen Wang

1 volume. Focuses on gender identity and presentation! I picked it up because I liked the cover and I wanted to read more things by Asian American authors. I remember telling my sister it reminded me of Miraculous Ladybug (likely because the main character is a dressmaker)

The Story of How I Went to a Mixer and There Were No Women There

Only scanlated up to ch. 8 unfortunately 😢 I've started buying the Japanese volumes but my grasp of the language has gone downhill since I graduated lol Pretty much as the title says! Some guy gets invited to goukon by a female classmate, but he and his friends find 3 ikemen when they arrive. Turns out his classmate and her friends work at a crossdressing bar! And they just didn't feel like changing back after work!

Story About How My xx Girlfriend Dotes on Me

Also known as The Androgynous Girlfriend is Doting on the President. A cute short series (with short chapters) about the class president (unnamed until the 2nd "vol") and his super handsome, cool girlfriend, Natsuki. Under her stoic exterior, she's a little spoiled and very forward about her love for the president! I thought this series was really cute! I want more chapters of them!!

Cigarette Kiss / Refrain Kiss by Yorumo (part of the Resonant Blue—Girl's Best Time collection)

2 chapters of a cute GL collection by the artist Yorumo! Kobayashi knows she's cute, and she flaunts it with the intention of hooking up with handsome guys! And to her luck, she was just assigned to work with the cool Akira. But it turns out Akira's a girl! The only GL in this recommendation list...

Ikemen Dansou Reiya ni Koishiteru!! by Yunoki

AKA I'm in Love with a Handsome Cosplayer Dressed as a Man!! Another title summary lol... Only 1 chapter has been scanlated so far. Is a remake of another series by the author with a (slightly) different title, but I recommend this version (restarted in 2022). The main characters have a lot of similarities to HoriKashi! Assistant cameraman Kippei is invited to attend a cosplay event for the first time to get practice photographing people. He is immediately captivated by cosplayer Makoto. Makoto is equally interested in Kippei (he has muscle from lifting heavy shooting equipment after all!), but, not wanting to disappoint him, she continues to pretend to be a man in an attempt to get closer to him.

Tonari no Kinniku Joshi by Ano Amesuke

A short series about a muscular girl and a tsundere boy Ruby (the muscular girl) isn't technically an ikemen, but I love their dynamic (maybe I just like tsunderes?) I also have no recollection on how I found this series but it was saved on my mangadex. Some parts of the scanlation read weirdly, and since it's a short series, the writing isn't the best, but I still enjoyed it!!!!!!

Not a manga but will include it anyway: the Taiwanese drama Bromance would also fall under this category! I remember when older HoriKashi fans and I would talk about how well it would suit them as an AU ^^

There's so many more I wanted to recommend for one reason or another (like My Crossdressing Senpai... I wanted to make a whole section about exploring gender identity or featuring trans characters... And then there's some that barely have any relation and I just think people should pick up like Ruri Dragon) but I've been working on this for the past 4 hours LOL

Anatole

A restaurant, maybe a play, or just dinner are his go-to dates. The dinner option might turn into a picnic, which will probably include coffee.

Likes bookshop dates and ice-skating dates too.

He is, however, rather open to something you might want to suggest, although he prefers museum dates to not be the first date.

Arcanaverse, he'd prefer you didn't take him somewhere with the sole purpose of showing him off. He will notice, he will leave.

With who you ask? If you're good at conversation, taller than him, high intelligence low wisdom/book smart with a degree and not an ounce of common sense in your body, and a bottom or a vers congratulations! You might be eligible for a date with Nana.

Amparo

Do not ever take her to the theatre if you're the one asking her out and it's your first to fifth date. That's where she works, and she is passionate about her job but that's not the only thing she does.

Taking her dancing is a very good choice however, she also enjoys coffee dates, but the café has to have some quirkiness to it or she'll 'meh' about it.

Escape rooms or gothic-esque experiences? Please do! She'd love if you take her to a treasure hunt.

I actually was in the process of physically painting this but I did it in a sketchbook instead of on watercolor paper and I'm not sure I like..the warping..outcome..I didn't really like it that much to begin with..umm..but umm Happy Almost Valentines day.

I've been in a really big spring cleaning mood but not actually accomplishing much. Sorta...I did finally get another bookshelf after years of wanting one but I was holding off because I wanted a matching one and ikea just is no longer reliable so I found one from target that is very similar-esque. So I finally got that up but now I have all this other stuff I don't know what to do with. I'm half trying to decide if I should get a semi matching cabinet that can hold my printer and hide papers..or if I should just get another storage bench that you can like sit on but also stores stuff on the inside or if I want a filing cabinet..

having a husband means his stuff is making me claustrophobic. I have half a mind to empty my closet and throw all of his stuff in there and close the door. What happens is he goes on a deployment/assignment/tdy and he packs a bag/duffel/suitcase and then when he gets home..NEVER UNPACKS IT. And it sits in the floor like "look at me, I'm your dresser now". He doesn't even use the dresser. So I think I'm taking the dresser back and throwing all his stuff in the closet *heavy breathing*

otherwise I went to the gym for the first time since trying to paralyze myself to death but I'm doing mucho light duty. My gym just got a deadlift platform and I'm too scared to use it but I want to so bad.

I feel like this year was just off to such a bad start that its already wasted and I have no aspirations for this year at all. And its only february.

Im going to try to draw something else later today, maybe paint tomorrow and I think I'm almost done with Tales of Arise and it'll probably take precedence.

I don't really like the fact that cheritz made a dlc for jumin's bad ending :(

I mean we already had to deal with players who just saw jumin as his bad ending and then they come up with this 😔

I'm actually kinda disappointed tbh💔

Like I'm excited for saeran's ae and jaehee's bday and I have always wished for a jumin dlc, but I didn't mean it like that... Now a lot more old and new players will misunderstand jumin's character and only view him as kinky and such :(

It is specifically meant as a bad ending DLC continuation, so I’d like to think that people will recognize it’s not his true ending or how he normally behaves simply because of that. The announcement also made vague mention of showing off Jaehee’s “dark side”, too, so if we get some Dark Jaehee DLC alongside the Dark Jumin story (it sounds like we might get a mini playable thing, rather than just one scene?) it might help underline that.

That said, it was never really that bad as bad endings go. It gets unfair criticism amongst the half of the fandom that doesn’t like it - especially those who use it as a weapon against Jumin - as people act like he’s kidnapped the MC and it’s not a consensual unsafe bdsm relationship. At least with the DLC, Jumin’s good name can be cleansed some by expanding it into what appears to be some weird kinky 50SoG-esque romance exploring a version of the romance where Jumin doesn’t quit or rededicate his life. (or it will go the opposite direction and make everything worse) And to be perfectly fair, Jumin is, undeniably, kinky. He’s just less ‘daddy master kink’ than certain parts of fandom thinks.

Personally I’d have preferred it to be BE1 we explored, but alas, fandom wants that pseudo-H content, of which I feel like it’s going to be very hard to really explore without pushing up the game rating if the DLC is of any decent length.

I do think, though, that if this DLC is popular it will be the doorway to other ones. Not a whole lot of those bad endings are as playable as Jumin’s first two bad ends, but there’s a few options out there to be the new ‘valentines day and after ending’ bonus contents for characters, and it opens the door to ‘alternate path’ DLCs. It could be a net positive, because the alternative is that Cheritz is going to be forced to give up on the game completely and move on to a new cashcow unrelated to Mysme entirely.

But if it isn’t, then....

Well.

Jumin’s gonna end up being ‘the only guy that bad ended so hard he got a whole DLC about it. And it was kinky.’ - that’ll be pretty unbearable dealing with fandom. Even if it would mean in a roundabout way that Jumin actually surpassed 707′s popularity in fandom.

maybe he could even picture the question marks floating above her head, despite her constant and very inexpressive face. though she is yet to fully grasp the situation, already her body moves as she asked of, accepting the chocolate bouquet and canvas quite easily; which — could have possibly wounded edgar's pride a little, seeing how she'd so easily done a task that had so taxing to him ( though it may have a different kind of effect, ‎ ‎ ending up as more fuel to the fire of this gorilla - hakuno mindset he seemed to have .. ah.‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ maybe she'd get an edgar - esque comment about how this strength of hers was expected of a gorilla ‎ —- ) . hazel gaze settles on the items now held in her hand, before shifting back to the painter. just as a question as to just what he wants her to do with these was about to leave her, she finds her question indirectly answered by his —- very indirect way of telling her that he'd gotten these for her. ❝⠀ o - oh. ⠀❞ and that, to her is even more surprising. the prospect of anyone gifting her something is one that she already finds . . . surprising, to say the least. so the prospect of valden - sensei gifting her something ?

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ . . . for one thing, the joy that accompanied is in a far greater quantity as well.

had this been a typical bouquet of blossoming flowers, she'd have lifted them up to her flushing face already; soft pink naturally blending into the flora. that doesn't sound like something she could achieve with these cocoa browns, however, though the very presence of these chocolate flowers were proof of how much thought went to the gift. it's easy to picture the doll - like hakuno kishinami decorated with a bouquet of flowers, she certainly held a fondness for the blooms as well, but those who know of her would know of her sweet tooth; a quality not many would've expected from the regal display she'd seemed to exude.

—— and that image is broken with a giggle slipping through pink lips, with her hands occupied, hakuno has no means to muffle her laughter. not that she'd intended to so in the first place. ❝⠀ no, i wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. ⠀❞⠀⠀⠀emphasizing that point, she tightens her hold on them, bringing them closer to her person — well, an attempt was made, at least. one might even describe it as a very childish sort of attempt at that, and truth be told, even her gorilla arms were starting to ache from holding the items. even so, hakuno has no intentions of on letting them go anytime soon ( rather, she feels the need to keep holding and looking at these gifts ! ) . yeah, that definitely is a very childish line of thinking. but what is that if not proof of how deeply she cherished these gifts from him ? ❝⠀ . ‎‎. ‎. thank you, valden - sensei .. ! ⠀❞
