I think a lot of the meta about Orym forgets that Orym isn't just an adventurer, he is a former bodyguard. His self worth is tied up in how well he can protect people and especially his loved ones. Thats why he sold his future to a hag, because its all he had left to give in order to be able to help.
Thats also why he seems so angry after FCG's death.
Otohan has killed his husband and father. Then him. Then he is brought back and told she also killed Fearne and Laudna. She killed Eshteross. She almost kills Keyleth. Now FCG has to sacrifice himself to save them all and kill Otohan and Orym was knocked out for it.
His job is to protect people and even with the added power from Nana Morri, it's still not enough. 6 years later and his loved ones are still dying and he can do nothing but watch.
People who are worried they aren't helping with climate change or any other big world problem bc they do something like make video games or art or are a cashier at a grocery store:
You are helping. You are making the art that helps me, an environmentalist actively working to restore biodiversity and ecosystems, get through each day. You are helping those of us on the front lines enjoy living or take a well-needed break. The person loading my groceries into my car is making it so I can eat that week and have enough energy to do my work. If you want to do more, you can volunteer, donate, and boost the voices of local community leaders working to protect and restore the local ecosystems, but don't feel bad if you can't. We are all in this together.
so me n sibling finished rise rewatch with all the newfound turtle lore after our big tmnt media binge......... many feelings i wanna get out
firstable........ how anyone watched this show and didnt think those were the ninja turtles in purest form i will never understand. like you cannot deny any of these characters being the same characters but with new roles to fill. raph is the protector. mikey is the heart. leo is the strategist. donnie is the brain. it just created a new dynamic, but never strayed very far from what came before
second....... take the ninja turtles and just hammer home a story about generational trauma and healing from it, giving them strength from how much they love and trust each other.... you break my heart wide open i am crying
to me they are the best amalgamation of all the turtles who came before them like: silly and sweet like 87, they have this close familial understanding unconditional love like 03, and this overarching story of bringing a family back together like 12
started this watch of all turtle media because rise on its own felt so good, but having gone back and seen all the other pieces i was missing makes me appreciate what it was doing more, because i felt every other series and movie in this one in spirit, but with the ideals of the modern cartoon saying: hey kids, its okay to ask for help, youre not alone, your feelings matter, and the people around you should support you
and on top of that, obviously the most visually stunning version to date, utilizing years of lessons learned from western cartoons and anime, meshing together in breathtaking action, but also having the most hilariously snappy comedic animation that uses what seem like cheap movements of a frame to make every line of dialogue all the more hysterical, and having these very expressive characters be able to be very subtle in the touching emotional moments.
i genuinely love this show so much and i feel really stupid for not having watched it sooner, and the fact it is the shortest of all the shows that never got the chance to finish its story makes me so sad. but at least what story it did get to tell was beautiful.
Unfortunately he's from a game from 2021 and so I closed my ask box to avoid spoilers because I am not far and I don't want to be spoiled on anything. Also I'm apologizing since I went a little bit too over-achiever mode on art of him and won't finish it tonight.
But you can see my new funky blonde guy obsession tomorrow.
you know how there are some interpetations of Wolfwood as the Judas to Vash's Jesus
and as the betrayal people use the whole "brought Vash to Knives"
that never really did it for me
sure, that incident is a betrayal all right - he brought Vash to the slaughter - but thematically, or in its consequences it just doesn't fit The Judas Betrayal
Wolfwood regreted it almost instantly and turned around undo what he's done and to rescue Vash - I went into it a while ago but this to me a Peter type betrayal the "before the rooster cries three times you will deny me" type
Now here is the take I come in with
in some interpretations of Judas his betrayal was not an act of selfishness but an act of love - Judas knew he had to betray Jesus for his ressurection to come
he betrayed Jesus, the person, to propagate Jesus, the idea, and in the proces sacrificed himself along with his eternal life
now hear me out on this
Wolfwood betrayed Vash, the person, by putting down his life, for Vash's ideals of sparing a life of someone else
due to this betrayal a part of Vash died
but a part of him has also undergone a change to allow him to reach his goals
this chapter really marks a turning point in Vash's character - something that wouldn't happen be it not for Wolfwood's sacrifice
Old test green life designs of LimL Scott ft. a red Martyn doodle I cleaned up and coloured in because I've been kinda ill recently. You can tell when stuff is drawn on a phone verses a tablet, I think
if youd like to read the stephens from the beginning you can do so over herrrreee :)
Scarlett: i feel like im going to throw up... do you think they heard anything?

Scarlett: i didnt even know that's how they met, Bobbi. they always just said they met in their bar or something.so how was i supposed to know we were going to turn it on and see THAT.. im going to be sick
[heaving noises]
now that sonic prime is over im even more confused about people insisting that its canon and will tie into the game timeline somehow and its place in the timeline will be clear by time the show ends . like all the little contradictions that make it hard to believe this is the game universe aside. theres no undeniable in universe evidence that this is the game canon and not just a separate universe thats more faithful to the games than any of the other sonic tv shows are. and theres also no hint to where this would take place if it was canon aside from shadow and rouge being there but that doesnt really narrow it down much . this whole situation is just confusing and weird
Originally I had just wanted to get that weird voice glitch from Thornton that I've been hearing ever since I got the game. But then I realized that it was funny to actually sit and watch the whole conversation play out instead of walking away. The mocap for Thornton here is especially good.
The thing that gets me about Mahiru is how they sneak in her tragedy, as opposed to some of the other characters. Like a lot of them have really blatant horror/tragedy from the beginning, but Mahiru's tale is hinted at until it smacks you in the face.
Aw, she's in love and blinded by love and would do anything for it, okay! Aw, she copies everything her lover does, even if it doesn't serve herself, like the silly scene with the bread, or the running, or the smoking, huh! Aw, she's willing to forgive someone that almost killed her because she feels so strongly that people should stick to acting on what they believe, wow!
And you can tell somethings a little fucked up but all at once it hits you like,
She's blinded by love and would sacrifice anything -- wait, anything? She copies everything.... so if her lover suggested he wanted to..... then she'd want to.... oh, oh no...... Surely she'd talk him out of-- unless she believes people should do what they have their heart set on, oh fuck.... But she's so full of life and excitement! Surely she wouldn't have made the decision to join h-- except, wait -- she'd do anything for love
What if. After all the eggs were left muddy and cracked they got taken back as they didn't mean to be given back like that. The worker that worked with them did such a lousey job they had to take them back.
But also all the eggs hate baths so so much and that's why this is taking so long. They're being little menaces god bless 🙏
honestly this isn't like, to say herbert is super niceys in canon BUT. i feel like if he actually succeeded in bombing the player, rookie, gary (and likely dot as well- i dont remember if the original epf command room was destroyed when the psa hq was) he'd probably not feel 100% happy about it. murder is in fact, a big deal! and while i'm not saying he'd instantly regret it i wouldnt be surprised if he'd feel SOME kind of way if he did succeed, even if he was mostly like "YAAAAY THOSE ANNOYING BIRDS ARE FINALLY DEAD". like yknow, even if i write my herbert to be Meaner and Nastier post blackout its not like i see even my herbert and especially not canons as someone who is Only Evil All The Time, i genuinely think this man would be at least slightly conflicted once the whole 'i actually succeeded in killing them' thing kicked in. and while he was obviously thrilled to bits about taking over the island and freezing the epf's leads, freezing them isn't exactly the same as killing them since as we know, even though it can have negative effects like gary saying he'd been having medical issues after being dethawed it's not permanent like being Killed-
