Weirdest phenomenon ever: went to block people liking an anti Vigcup shipper post and… found people on there who read my stuff? Like, if you think I’m disgusting and in the wrong, why are you reading it? I’m literally so baffled. You can’t have it both ways.

you know what? i am 100% sure there will be plenty of people subscribing to watcher tv, but in my opinion the biggest impact will be the fandom’s respect. ofc i don’t see them giving up on this idea, but either way, i think lots of people see the boys in a different light now.

This chapter hits harder when I realized what the assault attempt of the brides to Jonathan meant if we take his expressed love, safety, and comfort for the feminine.
Jonathan has been expressing how the mere idea of being in a room in which a lady was writing letters gives him a sense of calm. He looks up to the fictional heroines of his novels to give him strenght, and ideas in order to survive Dracula's façade. Jonathan comforts himself in the memory of Mina, and his love for her. He even goes out of his way to disobey the Count, and sleep in the unlocked room, why?
Because Jonathan feels safe in the ladies' chamber. He has the themes of a gothic heroine, so Jonathan is comforted when he is sure that he is surrounded by the soft, and protective femininity, instead of being within the grasp of Dracula's aggresive masculinity.
"I determined not to return to-night to the gloom-haunted rooms, but to sleep here, where, of old, ladies had sat and sung and lived sweet lives whilst their gentle breasts were sad for their menfolk away in the midst of remorseless wars."
"I want to get away from the Count, and this ladies' room is unlocked. It's old yet beautiful because women have lived and loved here. So, if I stay here, hidden, with the memories, and ghosts of these ladies as company I feel safe, and away from that man."
And then, the brides appear in front of him. Jonathan recalls the incident on his journal with fear, and rage, yet there is a point of his writing prose in which he stops his fear, and instead feels... Sad.
The brides appear, and the first thing that Jonathan calls them is ladies. The strong adjectives that he used with Dracula are gone to give room to a softer tone to describe their appearances. How Jonathan admits that he felt attracted to them, with shame since he feels he is betraying Mina. The way Jonathan immediately starts to use words like "repulsive" and "animal" when he realizes that the brides are going to do what Dracula has been implying for a long time.
How Jonathan passed out of horror when he realized that the brides were going to kill a child.
The femininity that Jonathan loved, and felt comfort in is now tainted by the monsterhood of the brides. He realized that not all women are going to be soft, and give protection to the unprotected, how these vampire ladies would have killed him if not for the Count arriving. If Jonathan can't go to the brides, and their femininity for safety, then the Count and his masculinity is the only thing that is keeping him safe.
"As I look round this room, although it has been to me so full of fear, it is now a sort of sanctuary, for nothing can be more dreadful than those awful women, who were—who are—waiting to suck my blood."
Jonathan is now alone, without anything to comfort him, and the Count has him exactly where he wanted him to be.

me: i finished the latest trailblaze mission in hsr so i can look at what other people are posting now! oh boy i hope it's discussions and theories about the story. i can't wait to see what everyone thought about firefly (what was going on with you sweetie...) and A Child's Dream - that segment in particular really left a profound impact on me. like who is mikhail? the voice we hear throughout is obviously misha's - did he have a twin? does mikhail have something to do with clockie? and from what we heard and saw, misha or... mikhail. encountered the embodiment of Death that lurks beneath the dreamscape. what's... the full story there...? i can't wait to see other people's perspectives it'll help me piece a more coherent theory together-
other hsr fans: *thirstposting about aventurine and/or dr. ratio, trying to cancel sparkle even though the entire point of her character is that yes she's a horrible person because it's high time we see how DANGEROUS and CRUEL the masked fools can be - no more reducing them to the silly wacky hijinks sampo pulled on jarilo; you should be scared of these guys; the game's story never wanted you to make sparkle your next skrunkly blorbo babygirl lol, heated discussions about whether dr. ratio displayed the same racism towards aventurine that sparkle did and if that makes aventurine/ratio a bad thing to ship (??????????), more thirstposts about aventurine, 500 billion generic yaois of aventurine and ratio that don't even maintain either of their characters*

crocodad is so so so so so so so fucking funny but most of the fan content around it SUCKS bc of this weird idea that crocodile would be nurturing as if he isn’t exactly the kind of guy that would be dodging at the speed of light any child support claims nami keeps sending cross guild… tsk tsk.
SKFNDNFC LITERALLYYYYY
i don’t care what oda said in that one sbs i really don’t think crocodile has a parental bone in his body. protective, maybe, of people and things he considers his own, but i think if you put him in a room with a child he’d only be capable of interacting with them like a small adult, if absolutely forced to interact with them at all. otherwise he is Leaving he is Gone.
(note that most of the people crocodile interacts with are wanted criminals. he is talking with this hypothetical kid like they’re both in The Biz.)
also this is definitely me projecting a little but i read a fic like this once and as a transmasc person who experiences visceral horror at even the idea of pregnancy, i think this goes double for like. a kid that he birthed. yeah parent-child connection etc etc but my favorite take on it is that crocodile didn’t realize he was pregnant until he was literally in labor, and he had the genuinely extremely reasonable and relatively measured reaction of flipping the fuck out, running to ivankov the second the kid was out of him, and then pulling a complete disappearing act.
children are also a major fiscal responsibility and he is Not About That.

Hi Tumblr, I'm only here for a sec and then going right to sleep (please note this tendency of mine before you take seriously the criticism to follow), but I would like to lodge a complaint. Apparently, there is a miniseries airing, RIGHT NOW, in the GAP cinematic universe, where, if I'm understanding the MDL comments correctly, Nueng, aka Sam's incredibly hot older sister who yelled at Grandma, is in the In-from-180-Degree-Longitude role of out-of-the-picture-mom's bff who out-of-the-picture-mom's daughter wants to hook up with ????? and nobody ????? on my dash ?????????? told me* ???????????????
HOW COULD YOU, HONESTLY
*posted about it when I was online and osmosed it to me

Angsty set of Morgana-opinion Headcanons for the GaGene family bc yk what they need a bad day. just a bit of a bad day.
• Conrad is an easy subject. Morgana is… a much more complicated topic of discussion for the family. She’s influenced a large part of Gavus’s life, and raised Liberta, and they both have varying opinions on her.
• Gavus is a lot more solid in his feelings, they’re complicated, yes, but he’s solid in that his disapproves of her actions. He’s had time to come to terms that what she is doing is not okay and that he cannot support her any longer. Gavus knows that Morgana is not as good a person he thought she was, but even then. He cannot truly bring himself to hate her. She hurt him, his kids, his husband, and yet he cannot find it in him to hate her. He still wants to plead with her and make her see reason, even after knowing she won’t listen. He does find it painful, even now, to think about the good times with her. It’s jolting to know someone you loved and respected turned out to be so horrible, and it taints everything, Morgana is no exception.
• On Liberta’s side, it’s quite a bit more complicated. Liberta doesn’t know how to respond to Morgana’s actions and horribleness. He doesn’t want to believe it at all actually. He finds himself, often, unable to process what he had actually went through and what is good and bad in his childhood with Morgana because he genuinely cannot tell. Not to mention she treated him nicely, like a son! She can’t be all that bad then, right? She’s still a good person deep down, because she has to be.
• He’s got a good ol’ case of Mafuyu Asahina basically
• Eugene, on his own opinions, hates Morgana. He despises her, and every single fake ass person on the Celestial’s faction. He hates that she messed up badly, that she betrayed Gavus and raised Liberta to believe that his feelings don’t matter. He hates that she did that to his family, and he hates how the situation is complicated. It’s not like everyone can agree she sucks as easily as they do with Conrad. Hell, it hurts him that Liberta even saw her as a parental figure at all! That fucking sucks, and he can’t do anything about it because she DID raise his kid, like it or not. He’s mindful about what he says about her around the kids, but next to Gavus he’s mouthing her off left and right as many chances as he can get whenever she comes up in conversation.
• This both amuses and irritates Gavus. It’s essentially like, “Raven, I know you hate Morgana but can we focus for a second??”. The amusement moreso comes from the fact at least one of them holds enough hatred in their heart for both of them for that woman, thank you Eugene.
• Lastly, Lucilla. Lucilla’s feelings are extremely simplified: Morgana = Conrad. Conrad = Bad, Hate that guy. Morgana = Bad, Hate that girl. She understands there’s more nuance to it for Liberta and Gavus, she’s not dumb, and she can, to an extent, recognize where Liberta is coming from. However, it frustrates her a lot whenever she hears words in Morgana’s defense, from Celestials or otherwise. It’s awful, terrible. Just what about Morgana needs defending? What could possibly be so good about her? She doesn’t get it. She doesn’t get any of it.
• Pretty much, the overall opinion as a family is, well, it’s complicated. Her actions run a bit deeper because of her emotional hold on two of their family members, and Conrad at least made it easy by acting like he doesn’t care (because, well, he doesn’t! Mans is as straight forward as he sounds: he just wanted power and destruction.), but Morgana? Morgana acted like she cared, and maybe she did at one point. For Gavus. Maybe she cared a lot about Gavus, and maybe she got attached to Liberta as well. But it doesn’t erase what she did, just simply complicates it further for the ones she hurt, because they loved her.

I suppose this is just another appreciation post but I guess, for anyone willing to read! I let the absolute smallest things put me in turmoil but I'm trying my best to do better. Just want to say that I'm so grateful for all this otherwise immense support to fall back on for, frankly, self validation and improved self esteem. To let these (now rogue) moments of dismay pile in my mind and drag me back down into a dark place would be betraying all this love and support, and I absolutely don't intend to let that happen again. Thank you tumblr for treating me with kindness in my wrongdoing. In my fragile being, you treat me with great gentleness and I will never stop reminding you how much it means to me, even if to you it might not feel like much
What's happened today is so meaningless!! Completely brainless!! Shouldn't even take up a minute of thought, and I want to grow stronger to not be so strongly affected by such things, and it's you who makes me feel like I'm capable of doing that
