I can't be alone with all that's on my mind
But the hatred took over, after all. He should've been the green ninja. He should've been the one who was chosen to defeat The Overlord. "I don't want to control it! This isn't anything I don't already feel!"
Takes place after The Forgotten Element
•••
Kai's stomach convulsed as he gripped onto the toilet seat tightly, his knuckles going white.
As soon as the horror had sunk in that Skylor and Lloyd were injured by his greed and that Skylor had been taken, he had bolted to the bathroom and barely made it to the toilet in time before his stomach spilled over.
Which brought him to where he was now, bent over sick in the small bathroom just outside of the main room.
•••
"You have to destroy the staff, Kai!" Lloyd pleaded, running up to him as he continued to blast Chen's lackies.
"Chen was right! This thing's awesome!"
"Kai, it holds too much power! Destroy it!" He heard Lloyd say to someone "if we don't get that staff out of his hands-!"
"No one is taking my staff!" He yelled, anger in his voice. This was his now. He deserved it, after all. Lloyd just wanted to be the special one again. "You had all the power, now it's my turn!"
He shook the thoughts out of his head briefly, glaring at the offending object. "What am I saying? I can't… I can't control it!"
But the hatred took over, after all. He should've been the green ninja. He should've been the one who was chosen to defeat The Overlord. "I don't want to control it! This isn't anything I don't already feel!"
"No, Kai! Don't!" Lloyd pleaded, his arm in front of Skylor. A pathetic attempt to stop him, really, as he started to use the powers, the rush flowing through his body
"I should've been the green ninja!"
And with that, he launched the blast, watching the terror in their faces. He relished it with a grin.
•••
"Kai?" A voice broke him out of his thoughts, resulting in a shudder. He couldn't quite place who it was, but then it came again. "Kai, can I come in?"
A cough cut him off from responding to Cole, but he swallowed it back. "Yeah."
The door opened and Cole sat on the floor next to him, setting his hand against his back, "FSM, you're sweating through your gi." He heard him mutter under his breath, "I brought some water if you're up to it."
Kai shook his head; he wasn't very nauseous anymore, but he also wasn't sure he could keep anything down just yet since the nausea was now being replaced by the sinking feeling of guilt.
"Sensei G's got Lloyd," Cole spoke, clearly knowing exactly what Kai was thinking, "He's got some burns, and he's kinda weak from the whole "powers being sucked out of him" thing, but he's gonna be okay."
Kai nodded, but then the second thought came to his head. 'Nya still thinks I betrayed her and everyone else.'
Once again, Cole cut him off before he could even speak. "Lloyd explained the whole thing, they're not mad. Nya said your plan was dumb, but that was it."
Kai couldn't hold back his chuckle at the mental image of Nya critiquing his plan, but it was short-lived. 'Skylor's still hurt. And missing.'
"No one blames you, you did what you thought was right." Cole spoke softly, gently setting his hand on Kai's shoulder, who finally mustered up the strength to move away from the toilet and take the cup of water from Cole's hand, muttering under his breath as he drank.
"Don't think telling Lloyd that I should've been the green ninja before blasting him was right."
"You weren't in your right mind, the staff-"
"The staff brought out my subconscious thoughts that I've had since we found out about the prophecy." Kai interrupted, setting the empty glass down on the floor.
"The staff makes one greedy, power hungry. I don't know how it does it, but it obviously does. The reason it had no effect on Chen was because the dude was already cuckoo for cocoa puffs," Kai couldn't hold back a snort at the ridiculous phrasing, "and if you don't believe me, you can go ask Lloyd for his two cents."
Kai sighed. He knew he should talk to Lloyd, at least see that he was okay for himself, but at the same time, he had hurt Lloyd, the one he swore to protect when he was fully aware of what he was doing.
"It's up to you. Alternatively, you could help us try to find Chen, but considering you just threw up your guts, I'd go with the safer choice of talking to Lloyd."
Kai used the wall to pull himself to his feet, hitting the knob on the toilet before allowing Cole to support some of his weight since his legs were still shaking before speaking.
"Take me to Lloyd."
•••
Lloyd winced as Nya wiped at the cut on the side of his cheek.
While most of his injuries were from his fight with Chen, that one had occurred when the jet crashed into the basement and the staff hit him across the face as it flew out of Kai's hand.
Although, if he was being completely honest, he didn't remember much of the whole situation.
•••
Lloyd winced as he was pulled to his feet by two of the lackies who kept referring to themselves as Kapow and Chop, his side throbbing horrendously from his fight with Chen.
Despite trying to fight back, he was weak both physically and emotionally, not to mention the vengestone keeping his hands behind his back.
As he was forced down the halls and the echoes of the large serpent hit his ears, he fought back the tears that wanted to stream down his face.
'How could Kai do this? How could he hurt the team like this?' He tried to push back the selfish thought of 'how could he hurt me like this?' and tried to replace it with 'how could he do this to Nya?' but he couldn't do it.
As the chanting grew louder, he tried one more time to break out of the two men's hold, but one just kicked him in the leg, forcing him forward into the large room all four of them had snuck into on their first night here.
But Cole and Jay were nowhere to be seen, and as he looked at Chen, Clouse and Skylor who were surrounded by guards, he swallowed harshly, seeing Kai standing next to them.
The chanting rang in his ears as he was forced to kneel, the vengestone quickly being replaced by two giant chains attached to the floor.
He looked up as footsteps approached, seeing Kai grow nearer; the sadness and fury consumed him as he demanded, his voice thick with tears. "Why would you help them?"
"Don't worry," Kai insisted in a hushed tone, but as Clouse approached, he raised his voice, "it won't hurt. Much." Before walking away from him with a cackle, the chanting stopped altogether.
Lloyd watched as Skylor offered herself willingly to the spell, a pit growing in his stomach as she cried out in agony.
He had to shut his eyes.
But the cries stopped shortly afterwards and he opened his eyes, only to see Chen approaching him with a wicked grin on his face and his stomach dropped in fear.
"And now for the final element," the staff was pointed towards him and out of the corner of his eye, Lloyd saw Kai turn away, "only one can remain."
The white light surrounded him, and he was immediately hit with a searing pain in his chest that sent him to his knees before forcing a scream from his throat.
It was over fairly quickly, but he collapsed onto his hands and knees, trying to regain his breath as his body, now weaker than ever and heaved harshly.
•••
"Alright, that's the last injury," Nya announced, bringing Lloyd out of his thought process to see a joking smile on her face, "unless you're hiding something from me."
"No, you got everything. Thank you." Lloyd smiled softly, receiving a hand in his hair and he couldn't hold back his laughter because of just how normal that was.
"I'm gonna go help them find Chen, but your dad is right outside if you need anything. Get some rest."
Lloyd nodded, watching as Nya exited the room before laying down on his back, biting back the sharpness of the bruising from where he was thrown by Chen with his own abilities directly into the leaderboard.
The pain dulled out enough for him to close his eyes and try to let sleep take him when the door opened and two sets of slow footsteps approached him.
He couldn't stop from flinching due to the sting as a hand gently touched his burned wrist, but he instantly regretted it when he heard the voice. "Lloyd? Are you awake?"
'Kai'
Lloyd opened his eyes, blinking away the blurriness to see Cole and Kai standing over him. "Yeah, I'm awake," he noticed the guilty look on Kai's face, as well as the paleness, "you okay?"
"I should be the one asking you that."
"I will be," Lloyd nodded, getting a good look at Kai's face and already knowing that if he was gonna get any information out of him, they needed to be alone, "Cole, can you-"
"Yeah, I need to talk to your dad anyways," Cole smiled, winking to ensure he got the hint before making his way out of the room.
The door barely closed before Kai spoke up, "Lloyd, I am so sorry about all of this."
"You did what you thought was best, I can't blame-" Lloyd started, but he was cut off quickly.
"I meant the staff."
'Oh'
"Kai, that wasn't your fault-"
"I could have killed you!" Kai shouted, cutting Lloyd off again, "I could've killed you and Skylor, I said things to you that I haven't believed in years!" He had tears coming down his face now even though his cheeks were still red with frustration, "I hurt Skylor, I hurt Nya… I hurt you."
Lloyd wasn't thinking when he wrapped his arms around him, all he knew in that moment was that he needed Kai to stop crying, to stop feeling so bad for something that wasn't even his fault.
He felt hot tears soaking his shoulder as Kai's body shook against him, like he had been holding this in for a long time. 'How do I make him see that it isn't his fault?'
•••
Garmadon wasn't sure what he was expecting when Kai came out of the small room that his son was currently residing in while he recovered.
He definitely wasn't expecting him to come out with tears in his eyes and bright red cheeks though.
"Kai, are you alright?" He asked softly, in order to avoid startling the obviously in distress teenager.
"Yeah," he stopped to wipe his face on his sleeve, "yeah, I'm okay?"
Garmadon raised an eyebrow before motioning him closer. "Take a walk with me, Kai."
"No, you need to stay with Lloyd-"
"Just down the hall and back," Garmadon didn't like the idea of leaving his son, but he also knew that the majority of the elemental masters were nearby, and if there was an emergency, they would be informed before anything could happen to Lloyd, "Lloyd will be fine."
Kai relented after that and the two of them started walking at a steady pace with only the silence lingering in between them.
"You know, Kai," Garmadon spoke softly, watching as the fire elemental's gaze met his, "when I was bitten, I did a lot of things that I didn't have control over. I became corrupted and hurt a lot of people I care about. My brother, my wife, you four ninja, even Lloyd."
Garmadon heard Kai's breath hitch and saw a few tears forming in his eyes. "But after my son saved me, you all forgave me even though I didn't feel as though I deserved it. I still don't know how all of you did that so easily."
"Well, if it makes you feel better, it took me awhile to forgive you for all of that." Kai said in a joking tone, even if his voice was thick from crying and the tear stains on his cheeks were becoming fresh again.
Garmadon shot him a soft smile before continuing, "there are things in this world that we cannot control, things that have to balance out. Although it takes time to heal from those things, to forgive ourselves for those things, that doesn't mean we can't let others forgive us for them and to give us a second chance."
Kai wiped his face on his sleeve again and Garmadon put his hand on his shoulder, feeling his body shake under his touch.
"You don't have to forgive yourself right away from what happened with the corruption from the staff. In fact, I wouldn't expect you to do so. But letting the others in, letting them give you a second chance… It's a good place to start."
Kai nodded, tears rushing down his cheeks at full speed now, "I'll do that."
"Good man," Garmadon smiled as the two of them turned to make their way back down the hall, "and if you need someone to talk to about this again, my door is always open."
"You don't have to-"
"I'll have none of that," Garmadon shook his head, "You will come to me if you need someone to talk to about this again."
"Is that an order?" Kai smiled, the tears finally starting to slow and his mood was clearly starting to brighten, given that his sass was coming back.
"Yes, it is." Garmadon nodded, seeing that he had accomplished what he set out to do, "do I make myself clear?"
"Yes, Sensei Garmadon." Kai winked as the two stopped in front of the door, his demeanor growing serious again, "I'm gonna go help them find Chen."
"Very well." Garmadon smiled, watching as Kai pulled his hood over his head before running to join the others outside.

“Some things I just cannot change Are you waiting for me to show you the way out? This love has a lethal side I would take the bullet, ah
You feel just like you're wasting a lifetime on me Just give into the feeling we got something real, yeah 'Cause every love song needs somebody to sing
So let me show you I'm what you need before you run away...
Can't hear what those people say Telling you that you're crazy believing in me now And if we march on the front line I would take the bullet...”

‘Because you’re exhausting!’
The words had been playing on repeat in his mind for the past hour, and it didn’t look like it would stop any time soon. Buck felt, not for the first time, that he had made a mistake for filing that lawsuit. That was especially true since it had solved nothing. His friends, his family, had pulled away further. That was none more true than Eddie, who had started to pull away from him even before the lawsuit. Now, he was sure he had completely lost him.
Buck cleared his throat, wiping hastily at his eyes. He decided that he needed to clear his mind, and that it was time to fall back on his usual coping method. So, he stopped briefly at his loft to get changed into his hiking gear. He’d added to the collection in the last two years that he had been with the 118, especially since he was trained in rescue and knew what was needed in case of an emergency.
He’d been part of a lot of hikes, so he knew that things that might seem like overkill, were essential. That meant his headlamp since it was almost sunset, and made sure he checked the batteries on it and brought extra ones just in case. He also made sure he had his LifeStraw Water Filter that he’d recently purchased, since he’d taken to hiking a lot during his recent shifts as the Fire Marshal.
The man sent a text to Maddie telling her he was going for a hike at Griffith Park, which would be open until 9pm, so he had plenty of time for a few hours to go on the hiking trail. When he arrived at the park almost 40 minutes later the sun was almost completely setting, he grabbed his backpack with his supplies but first slipped on his hydration backpack, which was small enough to fit on his front, against his chest. He had enough water for at least a two to three hour hike.
He was twenty minutes into his hike, not having seen anyone on the dark trail this whole time, when his playlist cut off as his phone started to beep furiously. “JARVIS?” Buck asked as he detached his phone from the strap of his backpack.
‘Sir will be with you shortly, Mr. Buckley,’ JARVIS told him. Buck knew that J was an AI, but he had always been pretty expressive. However, he wasn’t sure he’d ever heard him sound as strained as he did now.
“What? Why? What’s going on, J?”
The AI was silent before he started to speak again. ‘Sir was attacked two hours ago by an assailant that I’ve been able to identify as the Winter Soldier.’
This alarmed Buck and he lifted his head, looking for the armor but the dark sky was empty thus far. “Is Tony hurt? Why are you bringing him here?”
‘Sir didn’t have a combat ready armor with him at the time and though he managed to evade capture, he suffered a head injury that’s rendered him unconscious.’
“Why didn’t you take him to the hospital?” Buck demanded. “He could have a concussion!”
‘My protocols are to bring him to the closest person he trusts, and since his healthcare proxy is currently in D.C., you were the closest person to his location.’
Buck ran a hand through his hair, his cap getting knocked off in the process, but not that he noticed in that moment. “Alright… alright,” he muttered. He turned back and started to run back the way he had come, and was glad he hadn’t gone too far down the trail. He reached his Jeep in less than ten minutes, glad that he had kept to his training regiment after he’d started his light duty. After all, lying around doing nothing was more detrimental to his health.
He heard the repulsors then and he lifted his head to see the armor coming in from the west. That meant he had been in Malibu when he’d been attacked. The armor touched down more gently than he would have thought, but then again, JARVIS was the one flying it. It also appeared to be an incomplete armor, so that’s likely why he’d been mostly unprotected from the attack.
“Alright, open her up J,” he told the AI. When he did, Buck was ready to catch Tony as the unconscious man tumbled out. He’d opened his passenger side door ahead of time and easily lifted him and put him inside. “Tony, hey,” he said as he rubbed his sternum and patted his cheek to get him to wake up.
Tony moaned weakly and his eyelashes fluttered but didn’t open. The was blood caked on the side of his head from where he’d been hit and Buck didn’t have time to wonder what exactly it had been. Tony whimpered when he shifted him up further in the seat, making Buck wince.
“Sorry, sorry, but I need you to wake up.” Finally, his eyes opened and Buck couldn’t help grin at him. “There you are.”
“Ev?”
“Yeah, it’s me.” He took his headlamp off as an idea occurred to him, and used that to shine in his eyes. He flinched at the light and that wasn’t a good sign, especially since his pupils were dilated. When the man suddenly leaned out the open door and threw up, narrowly missing Buck’s hiking boots, he knew that he had a concussion, and needed to get him to the hospital to make sure it wasn’t anything worse.
That’s when he noticed the blood at his side and when he lifted his shirt, Buck saw that he’d torn his stitches. “Shit,” he hissed. He reached under his seat for his first aid kit, being thankful for his sister’s paranoia after the truck bombing. He quickly patched the wound, since he didn’t have the supplies to restitch it there and then he buckled him in and ran around to the driver’s side. Buck was relieved when he pulled up his maps amp and saw that there was a medical center less than ten minutes away. As he drove, he had JARVIS call the hospital.
“Tony? Are you awake?” The man groaned. “Do you know where you are?”
“M’in y’r Je’p?” Tony slurred. That didn’t sound good.
“Can you remember what happened?” Buck pressed, needing to see how bad the concussion was.
“Dunno… g’t hit?”
“Do you remember what hit you?”
Tony was silent for too long that Buck reached over and shook him, and sighed in relief when the man flinched. “No… no,” he said, shaking his head but moaned in pain at the movement. “Hurts.”
“I know, but I got you, Tony,” he reassured him. He looked behind him when he saw the blue lights and a cop car, which then pulled along side and then he motioned for Buck to follow him. It seemed JARVIS had also contacted the police department for an escort. Buck gave a thumbs up and followed the black and white cruiser.
As soon as they pulled into the ER, a few nurses and a doctor rushed out with a gurney. Buck told them about the head injury and the torn stitches as they loaded Tony onto the gurney. The cop told him that he’d be guarding Tony as per the instructions of someone named JARVIS. Then he was left alone, not knowing what to do except look at the hospital doors for a few moments before the siren of an arriving ambulance snapped him out of it. He closed the passenger side door of his Jeep and then got back in to find a parking space.
He was lucky to find one, even if it was further away than he would have liked. However, before he could leave the Jeep, JARVIS spoke up again. ‘Mr. Buckley, sir is being tracked.’
“What? By who?”
‘The Winter Soldier.’
“Who is that?” Buck asked a bit hysterically. He didn’t know what was going on. All he knew was that someone had hurt Tony and now they were likely coming to finish the job.
’He is an assassin that’s been sent by HYDRA.’
“Hydra? What is Hydra?”
‘HYDRA is an authoritarian paramilitary subversive terrorist organization bent on world domination. It was very active during World War 2 but with the efforts of Captain America and the Howling Commandos, they were able to destroy it.’
“I’m sensing a but,” Buck groaned where he’d laid his head against the steering wheel. This was spiraling into very dangerous territory, and Buck felt that he was barely keeping his head above water.
‘It seems to have survived and infiltrated SHIELD. Sir discovered this several days ago, as well as a plan to use an algorithm created by a HYDRA scientist to identify people that posed a threat to them and thus be able to eliminate them.’
“He stopped them and then they came after him?” Buck hazarded a guess. He took in several shaky breaths, trying not to have a panic attack right that moment. He was a first responder, a fire fighter that was used to running into a burning building, but this was more Athena’s area. Only, he couldn’t call her, couldn’t call anyone for help.
It was in that moment that Buck truly felt alone. He was alone in this.
‘Yes, that is correct.’
Buck contemplated on what he should do now, wondering if he should go inside, or call the police to warn them. It was just, would they believe him at all? Buck seriously doubted it. He was worried, because right now Tony was unprotected. “What do I do, J? I’m just a firefighter... or rather, I was.” He sighed and ran a hand through his blonde hair. “I can’t help him.”
‘There is a way, Mr. Buckley.’
The man’s head lifted in surprise. “What? How? What do I have to do?” He’d already lost his family at the 118 and didn’t want to also lose Tony. If there was something that he could do, then he would.
‘The Rescue Protocol.’
Buck frowned. “What’s that?”
‘Sir designed armor to your measurements and called it the Rescue armor.’
“What?!”
Before he could ask more, he heard the sound of repulsors once again and rolled down his window as he stuck his head out of it. He saw the suit coming from the east, which he found was weird. “Where is it coming from, J?”
‘Sir designed it and had it built at his lab in New York, because that lab had the equipment for it. He activated the protocol almost three hours ago, but since it was on the other side of the country, it is only now arriving.’
Buck stumbled out of the Jeep and saw not one armor, but two of them. “Wait, that’s two armors.”
‘It is War Machine, Mr. Buckley.’
“Holy shit,” Buck gasped, not believing that he was about to see Rhodes after all these years.
The two armors touched down and the face plate lifted on the War Machine armor. “Evan Buckley, is that you?” the man asked incredulously. The War Machine armor gave Rhodes about four inches, so they were about the same height.
“Rhodes, hey man,” Buck greeted him weakly. As he turned to what JARVIS had dubbed the Rescue armor, he saw that it would likely give him four inches as well. That explained why the Rescue armor looked taller. It was also colored the same blue as his LAFD uniform.
Rhodes pointed at the other armor. “Is it safe to assume this is for you to use?”
Buck ran a hand down his face as he nodded. “I don’t- I don’t know the first thing about how to use it. I kinda just found out literally a minute before you got here.”
“Lucky for you, FRIDAY informed me about the situation going on with Tony, so you might not have to use it.”
“Who’s-?”
‘Colonel Rhodes, incoming from the west,’ JARVIS interrupts them suddenly, voice urgent.
The Rescue armor is opening and Buck yelps as it lunges at him and incases him. He staggers back as the HUD turns on, breathing heavily and an alarm is suddenly beeping. Buck is stunned as his Jeep suddenly explodes in a ball of fire as it is flung to the side and into another car. The instincts he learned from his time in the SEALs kick in as he jumps away, rolling with the momentum, and is shocked at how easy the armor moves around him.
“Evan!” Buck hears Rhodes panicked voice and his vision is suddenly filled with a man with long hair wielding a grenade launcher, which is aimed right at him. He jerks to the side to avoid the grenade, which sails dangerously close to his face and it hits another vehicle that also explodes.
‘Mr. Buckley, may I suggest leaving the area before the hospital takes damage,’ JARVIS tells him.
“How do I do that?!” He yelps as the repulsors at his feet suddenly turn on and he waves his arms around wildly as he starts to lift off the ground, which makes the take off shaky and almost flies into another car.
‘Keep your hands at your side, Mr. Buckley,’ the AI instructs.
Buck quickly does that and the armor shoots into the sky, and it’s only because he’s jumped from a helo into the ocean during the BUD/S training that he doesn’t scream. Of course, he hadn’t made it much longer after passing Hell Week, because he hadn’t been able to turn off his emotions. So, he was very terrified in that moment. Especially when he saw a motorcycle following them with the long haired man on it, and did he have a fucking metal arm?!
“Evan, this way,” he hears Rhodes call. He follows JARVIS’s instructions as he angles his body to follow the man and almost whoops when he’s able to do it without veering too much off course. “We need to get away from the city before we engage.” They’re heading toward the Hollywood Hills, more than likely where there are very little houses.
Buck is totally onboard with that, since the last thing he wants is for someone to get hurt. He tries not to think too closely about what engage actually means, and that he was going to actively attack someone. And shit, he’s thinking about it now.
Then an alarm starts to blare through the speakers and with J’s warning, Buck twists in midair to avoid being hit as their pursuer shoots at them, which sends him into a sudden barrel roll that has him giving a choked off scream. He some how manages to regain control of the —his?— armor and gasps when he sees that the grenade had missed him, but managed to hit a building. Buck becomes alarmed when he sees that it was a house on the edge of where the hills start.
“Shit!” Buck exclaims as he turns, forgetting his fear and even that he’s way out of his element. There are people in danger and he can’t just do nothing. “JARVIS, is there some kind of fire suppressant system in the suit?” He sees as the AI selects the systems but curses when he sees its aimed for it to be used in case the suit is on fire or sparks. “I need something to stop the fire!”
‘There is a water gun on the shoulder,’ JARVIS tells him. Of course he had seen it, which resembled the one that Rhodes had on the War Machine armor, but he had assumed it was a weapon. ‘If you land in the pool beside the house, there are compartments that will open to suck into the suit and that will be directed to the water gun.’
Buck grinned despite himself, because he hadn’t been expecting that. “Wow, I thought it was a gun!”
‘That’s why Sir called it the Rescue armor. He designed it especially for you.’
And Buck could see that now. He hadn’t designed it like a weapon the way he had for Rhodes’s War Machine armor, but like a tool used to rescue people for Buck. Because that is what Buck did, he was a firefighter and he rescued people, and now the name Rescue for the armor made sense. “Alright then, J. Let’s see what this thing can do.” He had the AI connect him to Rhodes and told him that he needed to keep the assassin off his back while he went to put out the fire and see if there had been anyone inside the house.
“Roger,” Rhodes tells him. The War Machine turns and heads toward where the motorcycles is still following them. It also appears as if there are two police cars and one police motorcycle following the man. Whether they were alerted because he was breaking laws to catch up to them or because someone saw him shooting the grenade launcher is unclear, but that doesn’t matter at the moment.
“J, is there like some kind of autopilot on this thing? I don’t think I can land softly enough not to damage the pool.” Buck asked as they fly toward the house. He grins when the AI takes control of the suit and they land. JARVIS relinquishes control almost immediately after and he grins when he sees that the water can also come out of the hands by three individual tubes that can open up at the palms. It’s a good thing the pool is fairly large, and the gallons in it are likely enough to extinguish the flames. If not, there is another pool next door he can use.
“Aright, let her rip, J,” he tells the AI. He braces for the pressure to hit, use to doing it when he handles the hose as a firefighter, but it seems that he doesn’t need to as the suit is immovable. The water leaves the gun and the palms of the armor, and he aims at the worse of the flames. He cuts off the flow when the flames frizzle out, but makes sure there is enough left inside the suit in case there is more fire inside. There is a hole on one side of the house, and he rushes in like he usually does. “LAFD! Is anyone in here?” Buck shouts, forgetting that he isn’t a firefighter with the department anymore.
There is smoke and ash from the destroyed wall in the air and he kicks a few chucks away as he goes further inside. “Hello! Is someone in here?” His voice sounds mechanical and almost resembles what Tony’s does whenever he speaks while in the suit.
That’s when the suit’s HUD displays a scan of the house and it detects three heat signatures. Even then, he keeps calling and soon he hears a voice calling for help. The first person is a man in his early fifties which is the owner, judging by the information that JARVIS is displaying, and that he lives there with his younger wife and fifteen-year-old son. He brings the man out even as he protests. “I’m going to get them out,” he tells him with certainty.
He finds the wife next in a bathroom, a woman in her early forties who is unconscious from a hit to the head. Buck needs to secure her neck and substitutes a towel gently but tightly around her neck, making sure its not enough to strangle her. He then sees a bathrobe and uses the tie of it to secure the towel in place. Now that the neck is secure in case she has a spinal or neck injury, he carries her out.
“Evan, are you clear?” Rhodes calls over the coms, hearing the strain in his voice.
“Almost, Rhodes. I got one more victim inside the house. Give me ten minutes.”
“You got five,” he gasped. Buck jerks his head up as he hears an explosion, but sighs in relief when he sees War Machine still in the air.
“Copy!” Buck yells as he runs back into the house. JARVIS had pulled up the information, so he knows the name of the young man. “Jake! Jake, are you there?” He hears the house groan and knows the explosion caused the whole structure to be unstable, but he doesn’t want to leave until he has the teenager. Buck heads to where the heat signature is coming from, glad there isn’t any more fire, but there are sparks and if the gas line was damaged it could get really dangerous really fast. So he hurries. “Jake!”
He comes upon a room for a teenage girl and decides that he obviously isn’t there. Then he sees movement and turns. “Jake?” he calls as he rushes in. He finds a teenage girl huddled in the corner, confused by her presence there and wondering if he’ll have enough time to find Jake, but knows he can’t leave her there.
“It’s Jenny,” she whimpers as the house shudders.
Buck is confused. “What?”
“That... that’s not my name. It’s Jenny.” She cries out as the house shakes again. “J-Ja... that’s not my name!”
He realizes what she means almost immediately and nods as he kneels. “Alright, Jenny,” he soothes. He holds out his armored hand. “Take my hand, sweetheart. I’ll get you out, alright?”
Her eyes, bluer than even his own, dart up to his face. Then she nods and takes it. Buck lifts her up and carries her out. He deposits her into her father’s waiting’s arms who sobs a thanks for getting his daughter out, and Buck takes a moment to smile.
“Evan!”
“Shit!” he curses when he sees another grenade coming their way and instinctively lifts his hands and lets the water go with all the pressure the suit has, from the water gun as well. It must be more like a water cannon, because it knocks the grenade out of its course, and it hits the house. Buck turns and shields the family from the debris as it seems to hit another support beam and the whole structure comes down.
When he makes sure the family of three is okay, he goes a few steps away and his second take off is more smooth than the first one. He sees the lights of the emergency crews as he goes, and now that he knows the family is safe, he decides to concentrate on the fight that’s coming. Buck had never been a violent person, had never seen combat during his SEAL training, but he also knows that he can’t stand by while this assassin wrecks havoc and harms more people.

Athena had gotten a call from one the police officers in East Hollywood. While she wasn’t able to put any kind of official alert on her family or the 118’s vehicles or homes, they each knew the names of the people closest to them. When one of them was involved is an accident or any kind of incident. Mostly it was her kids, Michael and Bobby. Oh, and Buck, of course. It was because that kid was always getting into trouble, and because despite what Bobby said, Buck was his son. He was his son even while he was suing Bobby and the man was mad at him.
So, when the East Hollywood police were contacted by Iron Man’s associate to be an escort and given the license plate of Buck’s Jeep (which he’d just gotten back from the body shop), Athena had found out about it twenty minutes later. Naturally, she told Bobby, who was off shift and both of them raced over toward Kaiser Permanente regardless that they couldn’t contact Buck due to the lawsuit.
They were horrified when they found that area around the hospital parking lot cordoned off by police. Athena got off to try to find out something, telling Bobby to circle around and she’d call him when she knew something. She was able to pass through the police line easily enough, and even if she wanted to go immediately to the hospital and find out about Buck, something drew her to the scene.
There were several vehicles that had been on fire, which meant the another fire station, mainly station 6, were on the scene. There was a lot of destruction, like a bomb had gone off, and as she walked closer to the scene to try and see what was happening, she stepped on something.
The woman frowned and bent down to pick it up, seeing it was a California license plate, covered in soot and half burned. She wiped at the numbers, the curiosity getting the better of her. The moment she did, the sob felt like it was punched out of her.
It was Buck’s license plate.-

Austin was losing his shit. He woke up in bed sweaty, wet, and hard as a rock. 'What the hell happened?' He thought back to the previous night and couldn't remember anything. The last thing he could recall was starting the washer and that was it.
He jumped as Jack opened his bedroom door. "Dude, are you alright? It sounded like you were about to blow or die, wasn't quite sure which." Jack raised an eyebrow as he noticed how sweaty Austin was. "I still can't really tell dude."
"I was having a really vivid dream, sorry thweetie." He clamped his hand over his mouth and cleared his throat, not quite sure how that lisped, twisted version came out.
"Haha. Fuck you too. You're my bro, just making sure you were alright up here, thweetie." Jack shut his door and went back to his own room.
"Fuck, I had a wet dream?" He put his hand down gingerly and felt the size of the cum puddle. "Apparently I had like 4." He wiped his hand on the dryer part of his sheets and stood. As he made his way to the bathroom he noticed some of it still on his hand, as he flipped the light on, he brought it up closer and looked at the droplets on the back of his hand. They were so perfectly white, and round. He wondered if all of his loads looked like that, and what they tasted like. He had his hand to his lips shortly, relishing the taste. He caught sight of himself in the mirror and swore he saw his abs clench and unclench under his skin, like they were forcefully moving against his skin.
Austin's bad habit of just pushing the door over allowed Jack to catch Austin in the middle of it, his cum covered hand, licking it off like a porn star, everything. Jack's eyes nearly bugged out when he saw the skin on his back writhe like something was trapped under it. Jack hurried back to his room without making a sound, he didn't want Austin to know he'd seen everything.
Austin stood horrified for a few moments before rushing through a shower and off to the gym office for his turn at the financial half.
Jack continued his watch of Austin, things were getting a little weird, he kept seeing Austin's body do that weird skin thing. Aside from that things were relatively normal, until that night when Jack was in the shower at home, taking care of the last order of business.
As Jack stroked himself, Austin came wandering into the bathroom sniffing like a bloodhound. "What smells so good?" He asked aloud.
Jack jumped, "Dude get out I'm in the shower!" Austin paled and immediately put himself on the other side of the bathroom door. He hadn't even noticed the shower running, he was so focused on the smell that had wrapped itself around his brain. Jack quickly finished up, but made sure to leave a little cum on his hand, he was trying to push Austin to his limits.
Jack went to the kitchen, grabbing a small snack when Austin came in again, sniffing. "There's that smell again, what is it? What are you making? I'm drooling man." Jack held his hand up and offered it to Austin, "Here, come try some of it."
Austin took his hand gingerly and licked it clean 'I can't believe how good this is, it's amazing' he thought as he rolled it around his tongue. Once Jack's hand was clean, it was like Austin could think again. "What was it you asked me again? I totally forgot why you called me." Austin wasn't sure why he was in the kitchen. "Oh, I just wanted to know if we had cereal." Jack covered. "I'm pretty sure we do," He reached up and grabbed it from the pantry and set the box on the counter "sorry, I didn't realize I put it up so high, my bad." As Austin left, Jack just stared after him. He had seen the skin on Austin's shoulders split open for a second, showing hard, sweaty muscle underneath. By the time Austin had left the kitchen though his shoulder was whole once more. Jack had a feeling whatever was happening was going to happen soon.
~3 nights later~
The weird level had stayed up to 10. Each night when Jack would masturbate he'd save a little more each time, finding ways to feed it to Austin. Tonight, he was going to give him every drop. "Alright, I'm off to bed." Jack got up and headed for his room, as soon as he was out of sight he pulled his basketball shorts down enough to start rubbing himself, as he did he heard Austin inhale deeply. 'Perfect' he thought.
He pulled his shorts all the way off once he was in his room, making sure to not close the door completely. Jack sped his strokes up as heard Austin walking down the hall. He was so excited about what was happening that he nearly came as Austin reached his door, it was too late though, he was coming. As he fired off his first shot, Austin quickly jumped onto his bed and wrapped his lips around Jack, sucking greedily at him. Jack's brain was on overload, he couldn't believe he'd got Austin to do it finally. As he reached down to thread his fingers through Austin's hair he noticed how taut Austin's skin looked, every pore, every vein, every muscle was visible; it looked like he was about to burst when suddenly he did.
Austin had swallowed every drop he could and suddenly he looked up, mind clear again, but he was so itchy. "Jack what the fuck man? Why are we in your bed, and why are you naked? And why am I so fucking itchy?" Austin reached to scratch his chest and as he did, the skin on his chest cracked and tore away, revealing a hard set of hairy pecs. "Holy shit! What the fuck is this? What did you do to me?" He tried desperately to put the discarded layer back but to no avail.
Jack scrambled back, unsure of what to do or of what was even occurring. Austin crawled back off the bed and as he did he kept running his hand over his newly exposed pecs. The itching continued around to his shoulders, he fought the urge to scratch them though,fearful that this condition would get worse.
His time was running out though, as his body began to absorb the load from Jack, his transformation was kicking into high gear. He balled his fist to keep from scratching and as he did the skin tore away from his wrist, revealing more hardened features. His new hand was wide and strong, easily larger than seconds before. "Jack help me man, I don't know what's happening to me, what the hell is this?" Austin was completely falling apart, literally and figuratively.
"I don't know what's happening, it's like there's someone underneath you, and they're coming out." Jack tried to not smirk at his choice of words. He thought back to the guy that had fucked Austin in the shower, he had said that the seeds were planted and growing, this must just be the final stage.
"Am I still going to be me? I don't know what to do!" Austin rubbed his neck nervously and as he did more skin came off, revealing a thick, corded neck. "Fuck! It keeps happening!" His voice dropped a couple octaves, bringing it to a solid baritone.
Jack was tired of waiting though, he'd waited so many years for a chance at Austin he was done being patient. He sat up and pulled Austin in for a hug "I need you to trust me. It's gonna be ok." With that Jack dug his fingers in and pulled back from the hug, ripping apart Austin's back so the man below could appear. As Jack was leaning back and pulling the discard with him, he saw Austin's back and shoulders spread further than ever before, he was absolutely massive. Jack's cock responded by getting hard and starting to produce precum as though he hadn't gotten off just moments before.
The smell hit Austin hard, his eyes snapped to Jack's erection and he began to lean forward going for it. He pulled back though "No! I'm not gay! I'm not!" He got up off the bed too quick though and lost the skin on his lower leg, the muscles below surging forth as the limb lengthened too, leaving Austin standing at an angle beside Jack's bed. He tried to will his erection away, fearing what would happen but it was too late. His seven inches surged forward and ripped open too, revealing a 10 inch monster hiding below.
Austin had lost most of his old self at that point. The only thing that remained was his left leg, upper right leg, and head. The battle had been lost. Of its own Accord, his right calf flexed and tensed, forcing open the seam along his quad, the rest of the leg that bloomed forth was a massive thigh that brought even more height. As the new leg threw off his balance, Austin brought all of his weight down on his left leg, allowing it to explode outward and mirror its twin.
He turned and looked at Jack "I'm a freak, look at me!" Austin's body was radically different. He'd grown 8 inches bringing him to 6'5" of towering power. His weight had gone from 180 to 240, although he had hardly any fat to speak of, Jack was incredibly turned on. Austin had literally shed his skin and become the embodiment of Jack's ideals. Jack got to his feet quickly and stretched up, bringing his mouth to Austin's and pressing a fiery kiss to him.
As Austin stood there, unsure of what to do, he surrendered to his transformation. This was all too much to process so he took the easiest option, he brought his hands up like he washing his face and pulled, letting his new face blossom forth. Once he'd done that all his inhibitors fled. He looked in the mirror along the wall and took his new body in as a whole. He had legs for days, a strong chest, powerful abs, and a dark brooding face that held all the best angles. The Lesser Alpha had been born, and he was a sight to behold.
Jack sat on the edge of his bed, hard as a rock but not sure how to act in front of the newly awakened Alpha. Austin turned and eyed Jack, his bold features giving an intimidating glare. "Is this what you wanted? A new Austin? An Austin not scared of his own power? An Austin that could snap you in half? An Austin that you tricked into becoming a beast?"
"Austin, I, uh...I just..." Jack trailed off and readied himself to be destroyed by this improved version of his best friend. Austin reached out and shoved Jack down onto the bed, hunching yet still dwarfing him. "Well I've got news for you buddy. I fucking love it." Austin returned Jack's earlier kiss with the same fire. "I need to breed, I need a beta to keep me grounded and whole. I need it to be you Jack. Will you be mine?" Austin's new cock was rock hard and pressing against Jack's leg, urgent and hot with need.
"I've always been yours you idiot, claim me." Jack swung his legs up and Austin caught them right away, his dick was spouting precum like a fountain, he pressed briefly against Jack before popping into his virgin warmth. "Austin, this is my first time, I'm gonna need practice to take all of you."
"No you won't. I was shaped by your seed, as you will be shaped by mine. We are two halves of a whole." Austin purred as he continued sinking deeper, once his balls touched against Jack, he let out a held breath. "You feel amazing." He whispered.
Jack was in bliss. He could feel Austin's seed working it's magic already. His ass had plumped into a sexy bubble, his legs had gained a few inches making it easier to accommodate Austin's impressive height and cock.
Jack's body had primed Austin to become his true self and now his own body was responding to the desires of his new lover and mate. Austin came quickly, before Jack could truly enjoy himself. Sleep overtook the pair, Austin was still buried inside of Jack. The transformation had exhausted them both to the point that their eyes were drooping minutes after they each came.
The next morning Austin woke with a splitting headache. While they slept his body had returned to its original form, with a few new changes. He now stood at 6' even, and weighed in at 200 lbs. A noticeable increase from his previous stature. The most startling change though was the bone deep pull he felt to Jack. Even though they still laid together on Jack's bed, Austin felt like they weren't close enough. He didn't question these new feelings, instead he wrapped his arm around Jack's chest and buried his nose in the back of Jack's neck, breathing as though he were a beggar at a feast.
As Jack stirred lightly and moaned quietly Austin felt his body react at once. His chest began to swell with new muscle again, his arms bulking up as well. The tie Austin felt to Jack became stronger as well, without knowing how, he was suddenly aware that Jack was thirsty for orange juice, and desperate to feel Austin's length buried in him once more. A voice inside his head assured him that these feelings were good and natural. That Jack was his missing half and that he needed protection and to be cared for.
With a grunt, Austin climbed over Jack and pressed his lengthening cock between Jack's legs, wanting to breed his mate once more.

Note:  This scene occurred to me and would NOT leave me alone.  I’ve written it mostly to get it out of my brain so that I can maybe move on.  I don’t have any current plans of expanding it beyond this.
Chat Noir flinched away from the ice in Hawkmoth's smile as he fought against the chains that bound him to the pillar.  Hawkmoth had never killed, but this still felt like a death to him as he watched the man pace forward.  Hawkmoth's thin lips parted, and he reached out to set a hand on Chat's shoulder.  "Don't feel too bad, Chat Noir," he said quietly, his voice laced with self-satisfaction and an odd note of compassion that didn't fit with the villian Chat had expected.  "You've been quite the worthy opponent."
Hawkmoth knelt down with surprising grace, reaching for Chat's ring, and Chat clenched his hand into a fist immediately.  "No!" he snarled, but Hawkmoth only chuckled.
"I regret that this is the way it has to be,"  he said gently, and to counter the softness of his voice, Hawkmoth's hand gripped Chat's implacably, forcing his ring finger open.  "If you had a son, you would understand, but you're too young."
"You use people," Chat shot back, trying desperately to twist free before the ring came off completely.  "I'll never understand!"
"I don't require your understanding," Hawkmoth snapped, his patience fracturing for a moment.  He reclaimed it a second later as the ring finally slipped free and Chat was engulfed in green light.  Before the light fell away, Hawkmoth rose and paced to his window, gripping the ring in his hand.
"Finally.  I'm almost there," he breathed, his palm spreading open as he looked down at the ring.  Near his hand, a tiny black kwami floated, glaring at him.
"I won't serve you," Plagg spat.  "My kitten's gonna get that ring back."
"He can have it back," Hawkmoth assured the kwami, staring at him.  "Just as soon as my goals are fulfilled.  And I'm sure Ladybug will be more than happy to trade her miraculous for her... partner..."  The words trailed off as Hawkmoth turned and finally faced the boy chained to the pillar.  "Adrien?!" he hissed.
Adrien glared up at him impotently, still uselessly fighting the chains.  "She's too smart for that," he snarled at Hawkmoth.  "Ladybug knows how important it is to beat you.  She won't just hand her miraculous over!"  He jerked hard on his right hand, and swore as pain shot up his arm.  Distantly, he recognized that he would bruise later, but a bruise would hardly matter.  He wasn't leaving this place, after all.
Hawkmoth took a step toward him, then turned sharply away toward the window once more.  "You will understand soon enough," he assured Adrien.  "Tell me the transformation phrase."  Adrien stared at Hawkmoth's back, missing the clicking steps approaching behind him.
"Why would I do that?" he demanded, his feet scraping against the stone floor as he tried again to get the leverage he'd need.  "I'll never help you!"  He grunted as the chains bit into his chest, and then he froze at a new voice.
"Adrien."  Nathalie's impassive voice made the boy jump, and he twisted a little to watch as she moved into view.  "You should listen to your father."
"My...."  Hawkmoth glanced back, frowning, and suddenly Adrien could see it.  He sank against the pillar limply as the color drained from his face.  "...You?"
Hawkmoth drew a measured breath, then finally turned to face Adrien.  "It will take time for you to process this," he said simply, staring down at his son calmly.  "But you will understand."  His head suddenly jerked to one side, and his eyes gleamed as he threw out a hand and a shuffling form propelled forward from the corner.  "Marionette!" he said sharply, and strings flew out from the figure's limbs to wrap around the girl who'd been hiding in the shadows.  "Ladybug.  So glad you could join us."
Ladybug held still, her large blue eyes sliding from Hawkmoth to Nathalie to Adrien.  "Where's Chat?" she finally demanded, looking at Hawkmoth once more.  "The akuma said you have him."  Her fist gripped the yo-yo at her side, her eyes holding Hawkmoth's.
With a bitter smile, Hawkmoth gestured to Adrien.  "And so I do.  I will be happy to release him if you will hand over your miraculous."  He stepped closer to Ladybug, enjoying the way her eyes widened and her cheeks paled.  "I believe this counts as checkmate, Ladybug."
"Don't hurt her, Father!" Adrien snapped, struggling anew against his chains as his father approached Ladybug.
"Father?!" Ladybug demanded, her eyes jerking from Hawkmoth to Adrien and back.  "Mister Agreste?" she whispered.
Hawkmoth sighed deeply, glaring at Adrien for a moment before turning back to Ladybug.  "Your miraculous," he demanded shortly.  Ladybug's eyes slid to Adrien again, and she slowly slid to her knees.
"Don't hurt him," she whispered, as Nathalie clicked forward with confident steps.  Her eyes closed against the betrayal in Adrien's eyes.  She flinched when Nathalie reached toward her ears, but held still otherwise.
"Young lady, I may be a villian, but I'm hardly a monster," Hawkmoth informed her, as pink light wrapped around her.  Nathalie rose, Marinette's earrings cupped in her palm.  "Still, the appearance of it has certainly made this simpler."  Nathalie dropped the earrings into his palm, and stepped back quietly, and Hawkmoth smiled at the two teens bound before him.  "I no longer need the phrase," he noted conversationally to his son.
As Tikki and Plagg watched in horror, Hawkmoth removed the ring and nestled it alongside the earrings in his palm.  "Kwami!" he commanded suddenly, and his raised voice echoed through the stone chamber.  Marinette inched toward Adrien, desperation and fear in her eyes that Adrien could only answer in kind.  "Creation and Destruction," Hawkmoth began, his voice dropping with the start of the incantation.  "Power of life and power of death, combine and grant my wish."  His fist closed against the bits of jewelry in his palm, ignoring the prick of earring backs against his skin.  Tikki wilted.
"What do you want?" Plagg hissed, wrapping around Tikki protectively.
Marinette slumped against Adrien's side, crying openly.  "Marinette," Adrien breathed softly, his heart breaking for her, for himself, for all of Paris.  Despite her tears, though, Marinette twisted to look up at him, and he felt one hand fumbling at his chains.  The brush of her fingertips against his wrist were an epiphany he had no time for.
"Kitty," she whispered, the word barely more than a breath.  "Help me."
"Return Emilie Agreste," Hawkmoth demanded of the tiny god, blood from his hand dripping onto the stone floor in punctuation.  Behind him, Nathalie straightened a little, clasping her hands together.  Plagg's eyes flicked to the woman angrily, dropping briefly to her hands before dismissing them.  He'd expected a weapon of some sort from Hawkmoth's minion, but instead she merely fidgeted with her ring.
"There's a price," Tikki murmured, her tiny voice shaky with emotion.  Plagg bristled.
Hawkmoth nodded.  "Dark wings, fold," he commanded, and the purple flash revealed Gabriel Agreste.  "The price will be paid," he assured the kwami, as Nooroo shivered violently nearby, backing into a corner.  "Now, return Emilie Agreste!"  The demand was sharp and cold, and the gods of creation and destruction twisted around each other, their bodies shifting to a small tornado of black and red.  As the wind whipped through the room, Gabriel smiled slowly, turning toward his son.
"You are soft, like your mother," he said quietly.  If he cared about the way Marinette was fighting with Adrien's chains, he didn't show it.  But his words captured Adrien's attention away from Marinette.
"What?" Adrien demanded weakly, his eyes wide and horrified as he finally registered the sadness in Gabriel's eyes.
"You require your mother," Gabriel whispered, slowly sliding a thin blade from his cane.  "You will be happy now," he informed his son as the tornado grew.
"Father, no!" Adrien cried, jerking against the chains once more.  In his panic, he bucked Marinette away from him, but he couldn't even register the thought, because there was a new threat, and it was thin and silver.
"The price must be paid," Gabriel apologized quietly, so focused on Adrien that he didn't notice Nathalie's approach until she rested one graceful hand on his arm.
"Gabriel," she whispered, reaching for the blade in his hands.  "It... already has been."  Gabriel frowned at her, and Nathalie smiled gently at him, her body convulsing briefly as she swallowed down the toxins trying to escape.
"Nathalie?" Gabriel demanded, the blade clattering to the floor as he caught her.  "What did you do?"  Her hand lifted to cup his cheek.
"Be with your son," she whispered, before sagging in his arms.  As her hand fell away from his face, powder from the open ring on her finger dusted his jacket.
Gabriel stared down at her, horror and revulsion shattering the dispassion in his eyes.  In the eye of the tornado, a woman's voice rang out.  "The price has been paid."

The Advisor and the Psychic (Older! Ignis x Fem! Reader)
Hello! It’s been a long time since I’ve posted or done literally anything, so for you, my dear followers, I have something that I have been sitting on since last year before I thought I would ever make a Fic blog or do any of this. Good Asterals.
There may be more chapters. We will see.
Synopsis: A Psychic comes to the Citadel to warn of and impending attack on the city of Insomia. King Noctis is away on affairs of State and his Advisor was left behind to hold down the fort.
Warnings: Light smut. Possibly some later if I write another chapter. Let’s see how this is received. :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Your eyes opened blurry & unfocused. It feels like you have been hit by a truck that had then backed up and ran you over again.
Where am I?
As your eyes came into focus, you found yourself in a massive bedroom appointed with sleek, high end furnishings. The room smelled like antiseptic.
“Ah, you’re awake, miss.” A velvety voice said to your left. The sudden sound made you jump and hastily pull up the covers to your chest as though you were exposed. You certainly felt exposed waking up in a strange place unaware of how you got there to begin with.
The man who broke the silence introduced himself as Ignis Scientia.
“Wait, the King’s advisor? Where am I?” Your eyes scanned the room looking for any sort of clue.
“Yes. You’re at the Palace in Insomnia. We found you unconscious & with high fever at the gates. King Noctis had insisted we bring you inside. Although, I thought it unwise to bring strangers inside the Palace walls.” He said, thinly shielding his menace.
“I assure you, if you intend to cause any havoc within these walls, madame, you will be neutralized without any hesitation.” The flat, eerie & polite tone of his voice made a shiver run down your spine.
You swallowed as you felt cold sweat begin to pool on the back of your neck. This may have been from the fever breaking or the handsome advisors bedside manner. Somehow, you found the courage to speak and state your purpose for being in Insomnia.
“I did not come here to cause any harm to the King or the city. I have a message that must be given to King Noctis” Ignis’ eyes met yours with cautious curiosity.
“What message would that be?” He said, sarcasm peeking through the edges of his voice.
“Your lives are in danger. Yours, Noctis, the entire city. I have… abilities. I get premonitions of the past, present, and sometimes the future.” You said trying to keep the panic out of your voice.
The handsome stranger raised an eyebrow and adjusted his glasses. He took a breath and rose from his chair. Ignis walked over to the end of the bed contemplating and calculating your tale. His face betrayed just how conflicted he was.
Is she to be believed? It could very well be she does have these powers. Noctis can warp and use magic. Perhaps...No. This must be confirmed before a national incident occurs.
“How am I to know you are telling the truth? To come into the palace and say we are in danger is brazen and dangerous. You could incite widespread panic.” Ignis said evenly. He looked you directly in the eyes watching your face for any sort of tell that you were a threat.
“I can show you.” You looked directly into his green eyes with fierce determination. You threw off the covers and walked directly to his side. Your eyes met his and you could see a startled look on his face as his hands reached out to summon his weapons.
You slowly raised a hand to his cheek keeping your fingers together and closed your eyes. You heard Ignis suck in a breath as he grabbed your wrist, then he glazed over. It was beginning. You were transferring the vision of the future to him. His future. Unfortunately, you could not see what was being transmitted.
Your limbs tangled together as he held your wrists above your head. His cock was sheathed deep inside of you keeping a slow rhythm. Your walls clenched as Ignis emptied his seed into your aching sex.
The vision changed to your lips meeting as the congregation of your friends erupted into applause. “Mrs. Scientia” he whispered as you placed a hand on to Ignis’ cheek.
You felt the flow of power ebb and you took your hand away from his face. Ignis stepped back in horror and embarrassment.
“Six, you weren’t lying.” He raised a hand to his forehead and closed his eyes trying to regain his bearings.
“The first time can be a little... disorienting. You may want to sit down.” Ignis heeded your advice and slowly lowered himself into the chair. His eyes met yours once more. Ignis’ cheeks flushed a bright crimson.
Is he... blushing? What did he see…You felt your heart quicken and sweat once again begin to pool.
“What did you see?” The words were out of your mouth before you could stop them. He looked away and smiled. He was laughing.
“What is your name?” Ignis politely asked.
“Oh, (y/n).” Ignis took your hand and placed his lips on your knuckles placing a light kiss.
“It is a pleasure to meet you, y/n.” A smile stretched across his lips revealing the most perfect set of teeth you have ever seen. Well, his tune changed quickly.
“I take it you cannot see what is being shown when you transfer your visions. Intriguing. Do you have any control over what is shown?” He asked, hand on his chin.
“Ah, that’s correct. It is a one way connection. Most of the time, I can control what is passed. There are other times where the energy of the person overpowers what I’m trying to transfer. You should have seen Insomnia being invaded. Judging by your reaction...you saw something else.”
“That’s correct.” He said, trying not to smile. “You are welcome to stay here for the time being. There is a full bathroom just across the room and I will have clean clothes laid out for you. I’ll be back in to check on you shortly.” He turned to leave and stopped when you spoke.
“I need to speak with King Noctis immediately.”
“He is on state business. King Noctis will not be returning for another two days. You’re welcome to stay until then. If you can manage to, ah, show me what you’re trying to tell him, I can send word.” Ignis turned and left, closing the door behind him.
He’s certainly charming. Perhaps that shower isn’t such a bad idea.
Ignis closed the door behind him and leaned against it. She is to be my wife...what in all of the Asterals…
His cock twitched at the very viceral vision of the beautiful stranger beneath him. Her panting and moaning as he took her slowly and to completion. He shivered.
There was a knock at the door as you slipped the black tank top that was left on the bed for you when you came out from the shower. Waiting on the other side of the portal was once again, the Royal Advisor, Ignis Scientia. This time, he was much more cordial. In his hands, a silver tray with what smelled like eggs, bacon and sausage. Your stomach rumbled at the realization.
“I thought you would be hungry.” He said as he invited himself into the room. He wasn’t wrong. You didn’t remember the last time you had eaten. He placed the tray on the coffee table in the middle of the room that was flanked by loveseats on each side. He removed the cover with a flourish revealing the best breakfast platter you have ever seen.
“Please dig in. I’m sure you’re famished.” His dictation perfect, the opposite of your behavior as you dove into the meal before you. Each bite was delicious and cooked perfectly. The bacon crispy, the sausage juicy & the eggs runny. The meal was so satisfying, you thought you were going to cry. As quickly as it was set down before you, the plate was clean.
“This was amazing..” You said, emotion flooding your praise. “Compliments to the chef!”
“Why, thank you, Y/N.”
“You made this? It was divine.” Good looking and he can cook. Be still my heart…. No. Focus. You’re here on business.
“I spent a great deal of time keeping and caring for the King. I have been cooking for him since we were children.”
“Ah, explains why you’re so good at it.”
“I accept your gracious compliments. I get no better satisfaction than seeing a clean plate.” He said, smiling from ear to ear. An uncomfortable tension hung in the air. You broke the silence.
“Ah, Mr. Scientia-” He cut you off before you could continue “Please, call me Ignis. There is no need for formalities.”
“Alright then… ah, Ignis. What did you see when I transferred visions to you?” His eyebrow raised at your question. His face flushed once again. Why in the Six is he turning red…Did he see something…
“It was certainly not doom or destruction, as you had claimed before.” He failed at suppressing a chuckle.
“Then what DID you see?” You asked feverishly this time.
“Two lovers in the throes of passion.” His liquid dictation made you shiver. Your eyes widened and your heart skipped a beat.
Eyes wide “Who...Who did you see?” Barely able to finish the statement.
“Myself...and you.” His tone was even and his emerald eyes unwavering from yours. You didn’t dare break eye contact, he wouldn’t allow it.
“You’re lying. That couldn’t possibly…” His eyes continued to drill into you, unblinking. His gaze was intense.
“I would not lie. The premonition was far too vivid to come from my imagination, my dear.” He leaned back on the sofa and crossed his legs. His eyes never leaving you.
Well, there’s only on way to find out. Here goes.
With a deep inhale, you focused your third eye and allowed your eyes to begin rolling back into your skull when the Advisor broke your concentration.
“What are you doing?” He did not mask the panic in his voice as he reached a hand out to touch your arm.
“I can recall what was transferred to you. It just...takes some effort. Please don’t move or distract me. It won’t work otherwise.” You snapped back, laced with frustration.
Once more, you took a deep breath and began the tricky process again. You felt your mind sink backwards, as though you were being submerged in thick water. The room did not change except you were seeing the space with a filter of blue.
You were now alone on the sofa, the silence being punctuated with sighs and ruffling of sheets.
“Holy shit, he wasn’t lying.”
In the bed, the two lovers bodies moved in a rehearsed synchronization, a dance known only to them. The vision began to fade from your sight as you heard yourself reach climax.
Once again, you were back in the present, the colored filter gone. Replaced with the Advisor watching you intently, a blush creeping to your cheeks.
“Well? What did you see?” Ignis said expectantly. “Ah, I see.” He answered his own question. A smile betraying his poker face.
For the first time, you desperately wanted your vision to come true.
Win the Game
Feng meets the Pig again and tries to win the game.
Things weren't going the way Feng had hoped it would. Everyone knew they'd be in for a rough time when the fog cleared and they saw the meat plant. It was the Pig's home and everyone knew what happened in this place thanks to Tapp. Rolling her shoulders, the Asian woman looked for anything suspicious.
Off to her left was a staircase that led up and to her right was a generator, neatly nestled beside a giant metal door. From experience, she knew that when most of these generators powered, those doors would slide open, making the place even more confusing. She knew it'd be best not to immediately work on a generator, killers usually patrolled them in the beginning of the trials. Cautiously walking around, Feng saw the faint glow of a hex hidden being a large pillar. Crouching next to it, she began to take the totem apart.
Pulling at the small rope that bound the bones together, Feng looked around, keeping an eye out for the killer. She had no idea what this hex was or who was hunting them, but she figured it'd be better to destroy this while she could. It was best to dismantle hexes just in case they were something that messed with the generators. Too many times were they killed because they didn't find a devour or couldn't get generators done due to ruin.
The bones fell and the candles went out with the rather loud 'bang' that occurred whenever a hex was gone. Moving to crouch beside a pile of boxes, she saw a crouched form make their way into the room. She was about to go and greet the person when she realized it wasn't a friend. The pig-masked killer angrily searched around the room for Feng, walking mere inches from the woman.
Feng held her breath as the killer passed by and only let it out when she was certain the pig wouldn't hear it. The tell-tale sound of the pig going to ambush someone was loud in her ear and Feng ran, but she wasn't the target. David's pained yell echoed through the room as he ran from the generator he was working on.
Crouching next to the familiar machine, she continued the repairs David had started. He got the machine about halfway done when he was attacked, so Feng's work was cut short for her. Focusing on the wiring in front of her, the woman almost missed the heavy footsteps and pained groans making their way to her. Almost.
David turned the corner and looked at Feng, a grin on his face as usual.
"I stunned the bitch, she ain't puttin a trap on me"
Shaking her head and laughing quietly, Feng pulled away from the machine and followed David to a corner and pushed him down. He grunted, shifting his jacket off of his shoulder so the woman could see the wound better. It was a deep slash going from his right shoulder to the middle of his back. She'd have to thank Claudette later for making them wrap some bandages around their bodies just in case. Unraveling some from around her forearm, Feng wrapped the bandages around David's torso. Claudette would have to actually patch it up with her medkit later, this would do for now.
"C'mon this gen is almost done, the other's should get theirs done soon if they found any."
Pulling the larger male to the almost fixed machine, they worked together to fix the wires. Their siren sounded and shortly after another one did as well. David pulled her arm, pointing off into the distance. Looking through the doors, she saw the pig creeping up on Jake, who was nearly done with a generator. He yelped loudly when she ripped him off the machine and then proceeded to drop him.
The pig placed her boot on the small of his back and leaned down, slamming the bear trap on his head before picking him up once more. After she left, Jake struggling on her shoulder, Feng and David crept over to the machine and finished it. Feng needed these generators done. If she doesn't do them, she doesn't escape. If she doesn't escape, she loses. Feng rarely loses. Yes, sometimes she isn't the best team player, but she knows when to cut her losses.
Jake's scream tore through the air and David looked at Feng. The woman nodded, following his lead. They could see Jake's crimson aura hanging from a hook. The hanging man reached up and grabbed the base of the hook, trying to throw himself off the hook. When he didn't succeed he tried again, swinging himself up and off the hook.
"Looks like tha lucky bastard didn't need our help after all"
Shaking her head with a smile on her face, Feng made her way over to a chest.
"I'm gonna go make sure that pig bitch doesn't get Jake, ya keep safe Min. Don't wanna have ta pull you off a hook."
Nodding slightly, she heard David leave and she sighed lowly. She hated being alone on this map. There weren't enough places to hide from the killer and the generators were damn near impossible to find if you don't know your way around. Pushing herself up off of the ground, brand new flashlight in hand, Feng searched for another generator. Three were done, only two more needed to be completed.
Looking around, the woman noticed a red aura dangling from a hook in the basement. No one heard the scream because they were too far, but she noticed them now. She was almost at the person when they began to struggle on the hook. Running down the stairs, she turned the corner to see Ace pushing the entity away. He turned to Feng, desperation in his eyes as it began to get harder to push the limb away.
Lifting him off the hook, Ace nodded thanks and run up the stairs. Going to follow, she stopped when Ace screamed in pain. The pig was waiting at the top for them. Hiding behind a wall, she watched as the killer brought Ace down the stairs and hung him on the hook again. The spidery limbs quickly descended, piercing Ace's stomach and sides before pulling him up to its realm.
The pig ran up the stairs and it occurred to her that she must have learned some tricks from Leatherface. Creeping up the stairs, Feng turned the corner into the bathroom, seeing the generator sparking. Ace had to have been working on this before he was caught. Deft hands began to put wires together when she heard the sound of rapid beeping. Getting up from her crouched position, she saw Jake at a macabre. His arms were shoved into the small holes, which were filled with razor wire. He whimpered in pain at each movement.
"C'mon Jake. You can do it."
Feng mumbled quietly, hoping she learned properly from Dwight how to be a better leader. Jake twisted his head towards her and he ripped his arms out of the machine. He had a key in his hands and fumbled with the padlock on the back before ripping the trap off of his head. It snapped when he threw it to the ground and he coughed, hands shaking from the near-death experience.
Pulling the male towards the bathroom, she motioned towards the generator. Nodding, Jake crouched in front of it and studied the wiring before getting to work. Feng took the side closer to the door and helped. Hearing some grunts and cursing, she peered from the door and saw David being carried to the basement.
His shoulder was bleeding again and he looked furious. He was punching the killer's back in a vain attempt to get off her shoulder. The siren lit up as David was hooked. The pig ran into the room, blade raised as she eyed the two up. Feng booked it from the room, leaving Jake to the killer. He shouted as he was knocked down, and the pig left him to find Feng.
Seeing the red stain appear on the ground, she quietly pushed herself through a window. The killer walked around and through the room, Feng was in. Moving through the window once more, she evaded the killer and ran towards where Jake should be. He wasn't there, but she followed the bloodstains to him.
The raven-haired man crawled his way into the basement and was near David, who was struggling on the hook. Shaking her head, she grabbed David off of the hook, struggling to hold his bulky frame up. Grunting, the man immediately turned to Jake, patching him up the best he could. Feng joined him, contributing what she could.
Quiet footsteps were coming down the stairs and the trio looked at each other.
"I'll take the hit, you two run."
Both David and Jake looked at Feng with surprise clearly written on their faces. Rolling her eyes, she gestured towards the stairs and ran, catching the attention of the pig. The red stain appeared on her back and she felt the blade slice through her side. Yelping, Feng gripped her side and limped around, stopping near a window.
The pig was nowhere in sight and took it as a good sign. Two pairs of footsteps running behind her made her turn and grin. David and Jake caught up to her, looking at the smaller woman with small grins on their faces. Jake held the toolbox Ace had before he was taken and gestured to follow him.
"I know where the last one is. Good thing is, it's close to an exit."
Jake walked off and the other two followed. Sure enough, there was a generator waiting to be fixed. The three began to work on it, flying through the process with ease. When they were almost done with the machine, David got up and walked over to the switch on the door. He waited for the siren to sound before ripping the switch down.
The red lights began to light up and soon enough the door slid open with a loud grinding noise. They missed the pig creeping around the corner, crouched and silent as ever. She sprinted at Jake, but David pushed him through the exit before she could get to him. The scrapper took the hit and went down, so close to the exit, but not close enough. The pig picked him up and slung him onto her shoulder.
Sudden determination filled Feng, they didn't make it this far to die. Shining the flashlight in the pig's eyes, she flinched and dropped David, swinging blindly in front of her. Her blade managed to hit Feng, and the woman fell to the ground. It wasn't a serious attack, but the damned entity made every wound seem like it was ten times as bad as it was.
David was about to go for Feng when the woman crawled towards the exit, and he waited until he was certain she was going to make it. Turning to run through the gate, Feng felt herself be dragged backward by her ankle.
'No! I was so close!'
The pig stood over her and swung her blade down at the gamer, but Feng blocked the hit with her hand. She felt the blade go through her hand like it was nothing and Feng screamed. Looking into the pig's eyes, the killer swung down and sliced at Feng's neck. Blood sprayed everywhere and Feng's body fell to the ground.
Waking up at the campfire with a sore throat, Feng wasn't expecting Dwight to hug her. Nor was she expecting David to pat her on the back.
"We saw what happened through the fog, you saved David. Thank you."
Dwight had a smile on his face and let go of the woman. David ruffled her hair in thanks, wrapping an arm around Dwight before making their way over towards Jake, who also looked thankful. Rolling her eyes, she smiled at them and made her way over to Claudette to see if she had anything for her throat. It was a good trial for the woman, even if she did lose from time to time.
