When I was a baby, everyone in my family went out to eat one day. My mother and my second/third cousin were left behind, because they were A) taking care of me, and B) Their husbands were out; the B) is relevant, because it was Valentine’s Day and the restaurant they wanted to go was giving discounts to couples for the whole day.

So they decided that the best course of action was to pretend they were lesbians and I was their newly adopted child. They got those snacks that day.

love feels so big terrifying catastrophic and world-ending a lot of the time (or maybe im just not normal) but realistically love is very simple. when i was a kid my dad offhandedly told me his favourite tic tacs were the orange ones so afterwards i asked my mum if she could buy two of the little boxes of orange and lime ones for me. and i went home and emptied them so i could create a full box of orange on its own to give to him the next time i saw him. you know?
