my friend and i getting into a legit argument about who is at fault for the giants shitshow this season, gabe or the players...she's like, i think the players are failing to take it seriously and that's not on gabe! they're not playing for the game! that's not his fault! which is. what. i'm like, gabe treats his players chess pieces and he treats games like a math problem. and his math SUCKS. you don't play sports based on analytics, you can't build a roster on sabermetrics bc that doesn't account for the very real human aspect of the game played by human players! the players fail to take it seriously bc gabe has done nothing to gain their respect and their trust bc he views them as a collections of statistics that can be manipulated by math! how are you supposed to take anything seriously if someone thinks your play is determined by numbers? like that's not sports. yeah alex wood COBB SORRY KING is an amazing pitcher, but did he have his mid-game banana. like did your players get enough sleep? is the bullpen beefing with each other? are the infielders communicating in and out of games? how stressed are your rookies coming out of a phenomenally awful development system? like: do the players trust each other and do they trust their manager to help them navigate the stress they have around their careers and their lives? if your boss makes decisions about your career strictly based on how what your analytics are, yeah you're not gonna trust him or care about anything he has to say bc he doesn't care about you as a human. jfc i'm so irritated about this argument lmao. like yeah the giants are a clownshow ass team and they need a serious reality check, but if they don't have a leader they know will hold them accountable as humans, not just as players but as PEOPLE WHO EXIST IN THE WORLD, how they are going to change?? why would they even care???

In Jackson, there were very few chances for injury. Occasionally during patrols if people came across infected there could be injuries from the quick pursuit, from falling or pulling a muscle. No bites or scratches in a long time, luckily. And sometimes other jobs would cause minor injuries too: a burn while cooking, a bruise from an animal, etc. But mostly it was the kids getting little scrapes and bruises from playing, which was a comforting and happy thought, reminding all of you that had grown up before of what a childhood was supposed to be.
Which was what made Joel so grumpy when he sprained his ankle and was laid up for at least two weeks, as per the medic’s orders.
“It’s like I’m a fucking child,” he had complained when he was first told, making the medic laugh, a woman named Jackie that you had met before for help with a rash which had come from the goat milk’s soap. Apparently you were allergic.
“Plenty of adults get sma— mild injuries as well,” Jackie replied, catching herself on the word, correctly guessing that Joel would not like the word, “small.”
“Yeah? Do they get ‘em walking across the fucking sidewalk?” he muttered.
“Maybe we’ll have to ask about putting out sand earlier this year,” you suggested. “Last year, things didn’t get this icy until around Christmas.”
Joel had no reply to that, laying his head back on the pillows you had set up for him. You rolled your eyes fondly and shared a glance with Jackie.
“I’ll leave you two to it, just remember the RICE method and you’ll be fine. I’ll be back in a week,” Jackie said and then you showed her out of the house.
When you got back to the room, Joel was still laying back but his eyes were open and he was watching you. You went over to him and brushed his hair away from his eyes gently, “Do you want me to stay here while you’re healing?”
“You don’t have to do that,” Joel said, and you were a little surprised it wasn’t an outright no. In the time that the two of you had been doing… whatever it was the two of you were doing, he had never come this close to admitting that he needed someone else’s help.
You decided to push your luck a little, try to get him to admit that he did in fact want you to stay, “Well, you could just rely on Ellie’s help for everything, I guess.”
Joel processed what that would mean, how much shit Ellie would give him for every little thing, and he shook his head once, saying in a quiet, slightly pleading, voice, “Stay.”
Your chest grew warm at just the one word and you nodded, bending down to kiss his temple and tuck the blanket around him better. “Why don’t you take a nap? I’ll go get something for dinner. I’ll have it ready by the time Ellie’s home and you’re awake.”
___
About two hours later, Ellie came banging into the kitchen through the back door and you intercepted her.
“Joel’s asleep on the couch, hun, can you stay in here until dinner’s ready?” you asked, finishing up the ham, cheese, and lettuce sandwiches you were making. If you were cooking at home instead of eating at the cantina, you made simple fare so as to not waste electricity or fuel.
“No he’s not, what are you hiding?” Ellie asked with a laugh, heading towards the living room.
You caught her gently around the arm and shushed her, “He is, you can look if you want, but be quiet please.”
Ellie tiptoed exaggeratedly, but you could see the curiosity on her face. She returned ten seconds later with a straight face, “What’s wrong?”
“Oh, honey, nothing’s wrong,” you hurried to say, remembering that because of their history, the sight of Joel vulnerable must’ve been terrifying for her. “He sprained his ankle, so he just has to stay off of it and get rest.”
“Sprained his ankle, huh?” Ellie asked, the grin on her face very close to evil.
“C’mon, you can’t torture him. Well, not too much,” you amended when you saw the incredulous look on her face. “Besides, he sprained it when he was bringing me coffee this morning, so he was being sweet.”
“Yeah, to you. I didn’t get any coffee,” Ellie pointed out, making it clear that him being sweet to you did not preclude him from any teasing on her end. “Anyway, I don’t know why you even go back to your place at night, you should just stay over. Not like I don’t know what you’re up to.”
The tips of your ears grew hot as you turned from Ellie so she wouldn’t see your embarrassed face as you said, “If we’re too loud—”
“No, I don’t hear you, thank fuck, I’m just not five years old. I know that you’re dating or whatever and I know what people do when they date or whatever.”
You smiled at that, put at ease that if nothing else, you and Joel weren’t too loud when you had sex. “You know, if you ever want to talk about you dating or whatever, you can always talk to me. And then I can talk to him.”
Ellie gave you a small smile and then grabbed a completed sandwich and an apple, mumbling, “Yeah, cool.”
Happy with where this conversation ended up, you started to head into the living room to wake Joel when you remembered you hadn’t told her, “And actually, I’ll be staying here while Joel recuperates, so I hope you meant it when you said I should just stay here.”
You heard Ellie’s little chuckle and quiet, “I did,” as you passed into the other room. Joel was awake on the couch, but looked freshly so, still blinking heavily, but he hummed when he saw you.
“I take it the terror is back and— it’s time for dinner,” Joel mumbled, yawning halfway through.
Smiling, you touched his cheek, rubbing your thumb over it gently and saying, “Yeah, but you can keep sleeping if you want to. Ellie and I can entertain ourselves.”
“I don’t doubt that, but I doubt she can do so quietly enough for me to keep sleeping,” Joel said and you tilted your head in agreement. He grabbed your hand and pulled you to sit next to his hip on the edge of the couch, “You tell her you’re stayin’ for a while?”
You nodded and tried to keep from smiling too wide, being too excited about her acceptance of you, “Yeah, she um, she seems kinda happy about it.”
Joel’s mouth quirked up as he said, “Course she is. Anybody’d be happy to have you, sweetheart.”
It was implied, not explicit, Joel’s sentiment, his own happiness at you staying at his place, playing some kind of house together with Ellie. But that’s all you needed, and this time you couldn’t help your grin.

https://discover.grasslandbeef (.com) /blog/novolone-cheese-dairy-free-bone-marrow-cheese-recipe/
Heres a bone marrow recipe with 0 butter, it was the one i was looking at. It seems that it just uses the plantains as a mushy base but i didn't know if the clans have access to anything that can be mushified. I was also thinking if my clans have access to milk (one clan lives on mountains and are known for knocking goats over cliffs to kill them, although its dangerous since you can be the one thrown over instead) but i havent researched that entirely. And about the eggs, I actually did have that written down (its called Balut iirc), fermenting things by burying them came up a LOT and stuffing large organs like stomachs to cook whole came up too. Pemmican seems like something the clans would also eat, since its just dried meat, berries, and fat.
DEFINITELY gonna use that marrow recipe as a butter substitute, it seems like the marrow alone can be used as a butter... unsure about the cheese though, the plantain seems like a very important ingredient there as a binding agent, and my cats don't have those.
Could apples or pears be used instead? I don't think blackberries would have that same "consistency."
On Milk
It's in the realm of possibility for everyone else's Clans who live on farms or have a good relationship with feral goats to collect milk! Difficult, considering their paws aren't particularly dexterous, but possible if they figured out a good grip. Feral cats who live near elephant seals are also actually able to steal milk irl-- that's because an elephant seal nipple lactates in 'bursts' with no kneading required.
But my Clan cats will never have milk for two reasons
They don't like to spend time around humans or steal from them, unless they're SkyClan. Living too close to humans and their pets stresses them out. So Warrior Bites recipes will never use them, because they would not have a culinary use for things they do not encounter.
The logistics of taking milk are difficult. They'd need to keep the animal still, milk them into a bucket, and then be able to run with that container (possibly jumping over obstacles). Since my cats aren't living directly alongside these animals, they don't have technological development towards this. Maybe as a dare! But not enough to get used in official recipes.
I also just, personally, really don't like the idea of trying to force Clan Culture into being an arbitrary reflection of ours. I sometimes do funny little tidbits, memes, or jokes, y'know? Especially for names (in both English and Clanmew) because I love puns and it eventually becomes its own word. But something as big as including dairy products as a base ingredient in official Warrior Bites entries completely defeats the point of my project.
I'm not trying to reverse engineer human food for cats, like, make "versions" of popular people junk foods that they would never come up with if they weren't just mimicking twolegs. I wanna make Clan cat food. I wanna make food that's 75% what a cat in this culture would whip up if you gave them a brain and fire and only 25% still palatable to humans.
(examples of suggestions I get frequently that are a hard no: pizza, hot pockets, noodles, sandwiches, insert random farm vegetable, candy, plant-based dishes that contain absolutely no meat)
But!! This is taking my Clan's cultures into consideration! It makes perfect sense to have milk AND evolve lactose tolerance if your Clan's culture is keeping livestock! Be that their own herds, or living in tandem with human farms, etc.
ShepherdClan would be a serious vibe.
Stomachs, Balut, Pemmican
I ABSOLUTELY plan to make dishes that are like haggis, where you take a big organ, stuff it full of meat, and then roast the whole thing. A++++ S-rank stuff. That's exactly the sort of thing they'd get up to.
ShadowClan in particular also likes to experiment with fermentation, so I want to eventually give them "ratwurst" lmao, sausages made from the intestines of rats, packed with meats, and then fermented until hard.
Balut is an egg in late embryonic development. You get a little bite of yolk and a big bite of meat! It's absolutely something the Clans would get up to. Traditionally this is done with ducks, which are everywhere in the part of England so I can definitely imagine Clan cats stealing a couple eggs 'that won't even be missed.'
But you know what I'm going to do? Clan cats LOVE doing this with cuckoo eggs most of all. Especially in ThunderClan and SkyClan. They'll inspect the nests of songbirds, and if they see a cuckoo, just take it and incubate it themselves. Just enough until it's maximum delicious.
They have a cultural love of songbirds, so they have a vested interest in protecting them from brood parasites which kill the other eggs.
And pemmican? Totally a ThunderClan thing. Funfact I decided that it's Ivypool's favorite food, she seems like she'd like something a little chewy.

i’m sitting on the 51st floor of my friend’s apartment building, it’s a lounge area that looks over melbourne cbd and it is gorgeous, but the lights in this room are blinding. i’ve had a really long day and i’ll probably have an even longer one tomorrow but i don’t wanna leave this building. i feel safe here. i don’t wanna go back home. home is representative of my source of anxiety. home is messy and dirty. home is where the tasks await me. and i just can’t. so with my 48% battery on my phone, i will stay here for as long as i can. it’s already 10:31 pm. but it’s okay my house is a 5 minute walk away. i feel incredibly lonely tonight, like i’ve been craving some sort of romance. and ( very embarrassing ) physical touch. especially when i see or hear about other people in love, it makes me feel so alone. but this is not the time for me to date anyone. and i don’t really like the people i know. i have a therapy session booked for day after tomorrow, basically the day after this assignment is due. so hopefully my brain will be a little clearer by then.
i feel really sleepy and tired even though i overslept the last two days. it’s just that time of the month. pms and psoriasis. causing fatigue. i chopped off a lot of my hair today. didn’t really think it through but it’s fine. idrc. same when i dyed it black. i just do things and it doesn’t matter. it’s just hair.
my friend is really lucky she gets to live in this building. it’s quite a lot more expensive than my apartment. the one i live in is already too expensive for me but somehow i’m managing.
i sat super still for an hour so the motion detector wouldn’t catch me and the lights dimmed down and i stayed by the window for 2 more hours. i really didn’t wanna come back home but i was hungry so i did.
i had one of those chicken curry pies from woolies, i only bought them because they were on sale but damn they are so good, but normally they’re priced at 8$ for 2 pies which is out of my budget :((. but it’s okay i can make my own and freeze them.
2.75+4 + ingredients i already have i can make like a whole bunch of curry chicken pies. but it might not be as good as the store bought ones cause my little toaster that i use as a makeshift oven kind of sucks.
im still hungry, the little pie did not fill me up enough, which makes sense because i only had two tiny pieces of sushi in the last 30 hours. i’m craving another pie but i don’t have any. also something about having food with mayo makes me feel gross and oily. like it’s all over my face. i can’t stand it anymore. i’m so tired. i know ill be getting my periods soon because i have been getting cramps all day.
i finally found the time to open the bag of stuff my uncle dropped off because they’re moving and they no longer need em. there’s a whole bunch of sauces and spices in there. i wonder if my cousin bought these cause these are good ingredients. i’m kinda hungry but there’s nothing to cook at home. there’s pasta but it’s not gonna be substantial enough. i’ve been wanting to buy some parmesan for the longest time but it’s so expensive, and i go through it pretty fast because it’s too good not to. i also kind of like goat cheese, not really in pasta more with like fruit on toast. there’s a thing of frozen shrimp in my fridge afaik, but it’s stuck solid in with the ice layer in my fridge and i wrestled with it but i couldn’t get it out. i’ll just dump it out when i clean my fridge and let everything thaw. it will be okay. it was old anyway.
i’m just so hungry. but i’m just too lazy to make anything or get creative, or eat something i cooked. i wish there was like a sandwich or something i could eat rn. well there’s rice, surumi, wasabi, soy sauce, sriracha, mayo, chilli oil, carrots, and nori. but i just wish i had some cucumber. i’ll go buy some tomorrow along w some cooked shrimp. maybe the frozen cutlets. i kind of miss them.

cassian isn’t the one the court turns to when there is suffering. he’s the leader of armies, he rallies soldiers and orders them. he doesn’t watch ghosts of girls lose themselves to the terrible things in their mind. he holds neither the nuance or the delicacy for this. but he finds himself gravitating to her none the less, it’s well past midnight, and he’s only just returned from reviewing the illyrian troops. while normally he’d excuse himself and try to sleep before the day begins again —
instead he wanders towards her where she stands and looks out to the skyline. bare feet almost silent as he pads towards her, leaning against the railing before tearing his sandwich in half, offering the freshly torn piece to her. it’s a simple act, the act of someone who cares. even if he isn’t the one with the words to make the world make sense.
‘ s’just a cheese sandwich. but nuala and cerridwen, they make the best bread. they’ll skin me in the morning for eating it and cutting it too thick. ‘
he takes a rather large bite of his half, watching her with an evaluating gaze. it isn’t judging. it’s just — thoughtful.
‘ y’know — ‘ more chewing, then a rather large swallow as he’s not brought any water or wine to drink. ‘ feyre told me about your flowers, the ones you grew at the cabin. i always imagined my mother would have grown flowers. the illyrian mountains though, not very kind for flowers, or people really. ‘ a hum before finally adding, ‘ only goats, bears, and a few illyrians really thrive. i think they’d all do a bit better if they had some flowers. ‘
it’s nonsensical really, but he isn’t mocking, he is — shockingly and startlingly genuine. then again it is well into over forty hours without him sleeping, and he’s exhausted and starving but — he gives a mischievous grin. ‘ next time i head up there, i’ll see if i can find you any. maybe then you can give me suggestions. i need group bonding activities for the men, digging flower beds and planting things seems as good a plan as any! ‘

(Tw ED related stuff under the readmore, this time talking about purging too)
(Don’t worry I’m safe/fine and didn’t engage in any disordered behavior)
So y’all know how I went on a hike yesterday and saw beautiful foresty sights?
Well idk how many calories I actually burned because fuck that, but I was out for a while, about 2.5 hours of actual moving but that involves very slow going on snowy patches. I spent maybe half an hour total with taking pics or stopping for a snack midway, some of that time getting low underneath trees to get closer to the creek (which was very active!).
Anyway, I was SUPER HUNGRY yesterday which is totally fine because 2.5 hours of activity requires fuel.
But today I’ve been having like a really hard time feeling full and satisfied, which is probably also related to hiking. Doubly annoying is that my body doesn’t want protein. Like I had a protein heavy breakfast but needed to pair it with potatoes (which, like carrots, are absolutely not a vegetable 😉) and toast because alone the idea of eggs and a vegan sausage like. I felt nauseated thinking about it.
Now I believe my body is trying to replenish its glycogen and is like “feed me carbs so I can continue to take you on hikes through knee deep snow!” which is fine but I don’t make carb heavy meals. Like they just aren’t in my repertoire of things to cook. And the few I do make that are carb heavy are also still protein heavy- like a turkey bagel sandwich is carb heavy because carbs in bagel, but I also put goat cheese (maybe with avo) and deli turkey on it and have vegetables and dip which I like with yogurt. Even my pasta is more protein heavy because I use lentil pasta (I honestly love the taste). Anyway most of the meals I know how to make and can do without much executive planning will have 25-35g protein in it.
And my body today is just not wanting it. I try, and the moment meat is being cooked, or cooked meat is being prepared, or I even smell the yogurt or milk, I literally feel so sick.
I could just eat carby things alone but something about it ALSO felt wrong- like just a bagel? Boring. Bagel with jam? Also boring. Also, snacky. I couldn’t bring myself to actually make a meal- even like, cutting up fruit I just couldn’t do. It didn’t make any sense to me. So after breakfast I finished an older protein bar I had forgotten about from last week, and then just didn’t eat.
Husband made (quite large) garlic knots tonight to use up old pizza dough. THIS smelled divine. I ate one- still hungry. Second- still hungry. Third- why tf am I still hungry? He only made 6, 3 for me and 3 for him, so I couldn’t have another one. So I was rummaging through the cabinets and remembered all the candy and treats we got on Sunday. I still had some of those, so I finished off the licorice and hello panda cookies (maybe 1-1.5 “recommended servings” left for each), have a couple pieces of fruit mochi, even have some coffee candies and a lychee gummy because they sounded super good. I was sipping water throughout too, as I do throughout the day.
But nope, still hungry. And now I’m craving something salty. Like great I satisfied my need for carbs, but my body is still hungry and is now wanting salt. So I have a couple handfuls of cashews. Keep in mind this is all spread out around 3.5 hours. It’s not all at once. I’m giving myself time to eat, to get it in my body, have my hormones adjust to the new fuel, etc.
Finally, after the cashews, I feel ACTUALLY satisfied and full. Not sick full but like, appropriate full. The full that means I won’t be hungry at an inappropriate time but I’m not over full. No more cravings. Like “move on with your life” full.
But what does my brain decide to do with this? It’s like I’m 19 or 20 again and my brain is saying “nope we can’t feel full, hunger is good, get rid of it.” (Note: I primarily exercise purged, so this little voice isn’t just like throw it up or abuse laxatives, which I also have done, but also “count up all the calories, try to estimate, and then go to the gym and burn it all off, you haven’t gone since Tuesday!”)
It’s just this small little instinctual urge which is likely coming up because stress and new scholastic endeavors and being forced to have people perceive me. Just got me in that old headspace again because of situational similarities.
Also: the fact that it was cashews that did it at the very end is killing me. Like not even after the mochi or the lychee gummy. Something with micronutrients and very very much needed salt because I DO get dizzy without it. Something traditionally considered “healthy.” THAT is what turned ED brain on. It’s literally about how full or empty I feel and how many calories I believe I’ve eaten vs burned in a day. Doesn’t matter where it’s from. Oats or chocolate or molasses or fucking carrots or nuts.
I’m just annoyed that even this far into/past recovery, my brain still goes back ten years when my body literally just feels NORMAL. Ten years into recovery and my brain is STILL triggered sometimes just by *actually feeling fully and completely satisfied.*
Anyway: I’m totally safe, not going to do anything, it was just like this little whisper of old times which I can easily tell to stfu now, but these moments are so rare I forget they exist and when they come back, it’s just a reminder that I will likely always have them trying to peak through stressful times.

🍝SDV Headcanon: Pasta (bachelorettes) 🍝
Yesterday was National Pasta Day. Here are my headcanons involving pasta and the bachelorettes. Farmer is a pasta lover. See my pasta headcanons for bachelors here.  What other HC’s would you like to see?
I’m so bummed. I spent like an hour writing these and then the Internet ate it. Meh... okay, let’s try this again.
Abigail
Is into weird, experimental stuff. Fugu noodles? Spicy eel noodles? Pumpkin noodles?
Once made Sebastian a ramen noodle sandwich. He promptly took her back upstairs to teach her how to properly make ramen.
Dyes the noodles black for Spooky Day with a chunky pumpkin tomato sauce. Pierre would raise an eyebrow, but Caroline would be supportive of her daughter’s creativity.
Is more into the desserts post pasta - she would make her unusual pasta dish if the farmer made her favorite pumpkin cheesecake.
If in a romantic relationship, Abigail packs a pasta lunch into the Farmer’s knapsack before going into the mines. Then of course, joins them on an adventure! Definitely with Bilbo Baggins energy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maru
Prefers noodle substitutes. Once when she was a kid, she choked on pasta. It’s a psychological thing, but she can’t eat spaghetti. Red sauce. Blech!
Bought a vegetable spiraler tool for making alt-noodles. It’s one of the things she enjoys doing with her mom. Robin likes making beet, carrot, and zucchini spirals.
Her absolute favorite is cheesy cauliflower noodles! She would shyly request fresh cheese from the Farmer if they are friends.
If she has to eat pasta, Maru likes Thai rice noodles (super thin noodles).
Since this girl loves strawberries, she attempted to figure out dessert pasta. Is thrilled to discover a Polish dish with strawberries and cream pasta.
Maru also enjoys the heat. Lots of spices added to her pastas. Cilantro. Red curry paste. She would get fresh honey from the Farmer to add to her Sriracha sauce if they are friends.
In a romantic relationship, she is so excited if you offer to make alt-noodles with her. She would worry about what to wear for once, and go to Haley for advice before realizing that she needs to get across town to meet you at the house in time.
Harvey once accidentally ate some of her pasta for lunch. His mouth was on fire for an hour. (Yes, I can picture his hair standing on end).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Leah
Also likes truffles like Harvey. Sometimes she brings him a pasta with truffles dish for lunch because the poor man forgets to take a break and eat.
Marnie let her set up a little smoker on the property. Leah smokes her own meats. If the Farmer keeps goats, Leah would swing by frequently for a sampling of fresh goat cheese for her pasta with smoked bacon dish.
If she’s in a rush, a simple pasta dish with chopped spring onions, garlic, and Balsamic vinaigrette is all she needs.
She enjoys wild caught salmon with her pasta served with fresh herbs.
Leah cans her own sauce with fresh ingredients foraged from the forest and from the Farm. If friends, Leah brings a can over to the Farmer about once a month.
If in a romantic relationship, Leah would join the Farmer for a pasta meal and bring a fresh salad and a bottle of wine to enjoy. She also brings hand-crafted jars for the Farmer to store all their noodles. On the bottom, she would carve “hand crafted with love” and a little heart with her name.
Tumblr media
Emily
Loves earthy vegetables with her pasta. Beets, carrots, daikon, onions and garlic.
Oh yes, this girl loves garlic! If the recipe calls for 1 clove, she uses 3. And way too much salt. Haley jokes that it’s her sister’s hair dye that makes Emily loopy when it comes to balancing out her spices. The only person who can handle THAT much garlic is Shane. And he never complains when she cooks for him.
Emily is a hands-on kind-of girl. If friends, harvest vegetables straight from the Farmer’s garden. Shows up wearing a big floppy hat and colorful patchy overalls and sneakers with little handdrawn parrots and rainbows and sunshine.
If in a romantic relationship, Emily accepts the Farmer’s invite to stay for dinner. Emily trusts the Farmer’s process, but would try to be helpful. She would shuck green beans and shell walnuts on the porch for a green bean, walnut, and creamy parmesan noodles dish. Emily is a hugger. She would hug the Farmer repeatedly while they were cooking. If they got annoyed, she laughs it off and says she just loves them so much.
Tumblr media
Haley
Asked her dad if angels existed after eating angel hair pasta for the first time as a child. It turned into a long conversation about life, death, and the afterlife.
Pasta is a comfort dish for Haley. Whenever she’s sad, lonely, scared, or upset, she returns to the classics: carbonara.
And she’s a meatballs girl. Doesn’t even need pasta. Leah made BBQ meatballs once at a town event and now she’s addicted.
And a noodles in soup girl. Whenever she’s ill, Emily attempts to make a beef broth and homemade noodles for Haley. It’s way too salty but she appreciates the gesture.
Became friends with the farmer after they made her chicken noodle soup when she was really sick. What a lovely and kind thing to do! Haley brings them sunflowers as a thank you gift. If in a romantic relationship, Haley bakes a pink cake with strawberry frosting and heart sprinkles.
Tumblr media
Penny
Knows her way around. Since her mom wasn’t around much, Penny learned to cook at a young age. She actually really enjoys it, but she rarely has the time to work in the kitchen in peace.
Makes macaroni noodle necklaces with Jas and Vincent. Blushes like crazy if you compliment the one she’s wearing.
Gnocchi (with extra potatoes) is her favorite pasta. Pairs perfectly with Emily’s extra garlicky garlic bread.
She enjoys a good shrimp scampi also. Would eat with Elliott every once in awhile and bond over the dish. He’s hopeless in the kitchen. *face-palm*
If in a romantic relationship with the Farmer, she comes over to cook pasta often, handrolling out her noodles. She loves the quiet of the Farmhouse kitchen.
Also, she has a romantic fantasy of being blindfolded and hand fed noodles, especially if the Farmer kisses her neck after the butter drizzles down.

It's Blorbo Blursday! For this question, you might need a bit of context!
A few fast food chains, Mcdonald's most notably, have done celebrity meals (CardiB and Offset, BTS, Travis Scott, to name a few!) that consist of a chosen combination of their regular menu items and might also come with some sort of special dipping sauce or branding on the packaging.
So for today's question, I want to know, what would your OCs "celebrity meal" be?
Thank you for this Ask, @writernopal!
I'm terribly sorry for the late answer. I don't know if this is a proper answer, but since I don't know much about real menus of fast food restaurants, I will answer with an "In-Universe" version of a "Celebrity Menu" for my cast!
RAELEN - (Raelen is a complicated one to answer for. She doesn't have a very specific "favorite dish", and is not a very picky eater either. But, I would say that Raelen's food of choice - if she had to answer this - would be) :
(SAVORY) Any kind of pasty with roasted venison for filling, preferably as warm as possible (as in, fresh out of the oven).
(SWEET) Pure chocolate cake, or overall anything with chocolate, though chocolate and fresh berry pies are her all-time favorite.
(DRINK) Fruit teas. Occasionally, warm wine - it's the most easily accessible beverage in the kingdom she grew up in and since she hates ale, it's the next best thing to find in taverns while on the run.
VALLERIUS -
(SAVORY) Anything spicy and extremely well-seasoned. Spicy pasta dishes, with flaming hot sauce or any kind of hot pepper stew would certainly be his favorites.
(SWEET) Vallerius is not a huge fan of desserts, but he would never say no to a well-made breakfast cinnamon roll or a creamy lemon pie.
(DRINK) Voidberry Juice. Sounds menacing, looks dangerous, but actually tastes really good, once one gets past its initial tangy/acidic taste. (The stems and leaves of the plant are poisonous though, so one needs to be really careful before making juice from the berries. That's why he only drinks this juice if he made it himself.)
EMRYC -
(SAVORY) Roasted deep-sea Kraken or fried lobster claws. Sometimes those two things go together in one dish. He hasn't had something like that since he left the Storm Isles, though.
(SWEET) Caramel Fruit - as in, fruits covered by burnt caramel - or any kind of hard candy, as long as it isn't acidic.
(DRINK) Chocolate milk is his go-to drink of choice.
TANWIN -
(SAVORY) He is vegetarian, and meat makes him sick. His favorite dish would be pumpkin and spinach pie. He also likes soup but hates salad.
(SWEET) Frozen Blueberry cake, he also likes anything with vanilla and blueberries, preferably if it is in a cake.
(DRINK) Wild blackberry wine/juice.
ANSELL -
(SAVORY) Anything with roasted/baked partridge wings, or river fish cooked with pasta. He does not like spicy food but doesn't like bland food either - his taste in food sits right in between those two options.
(SWEET) Glazed cherry rolls, but being a huge dessert fan, he ends up eating any kind of sweet rolls available to him.
(DRINK) A warm, sweet, mildly alcoholic (includes wine), butter-infused drink that usually includes honey and nutmeg.
MORWAN -
(SAVORY) Well-done mutton leg, roasted over a fire, with a side dish of creamy rice with vegetable sticks to follow.
(SWEET) Anything large and bountiful, though her all-time favorite consists of a caramel cake with chocolate and cream filling.
(DRINK) Ale, preferably of the strongest sort.
BRYN -
(SAVORY) Crawfish sandwiches, but he also loves mountain ox stew with cheese.
(SWEET) Anything with strawberry. His favorites include (strawberry) cupcakes, muffins, and cakes.
(DRINK) Strawberry Milkshake
YUNA -
(SAVORY) Spicy goat and pork casserole with foraged vegetables.
(SWEET) Almond pancakes with any kind of syrup
(DRINK) Rum
ELLINOR -
(SAVORY) Anything grilled. She is particularly fond of grilled chicken or turkey, with a side dish of creamy pasta and vegetables.
(SWEET) Warm rolls or pies with a vanilla cream filling. She is also a huge fan of almond pudding with burnt caramel toppings.
(DRINK) Hot milk with burnt sugar and mint. She also likes sparkling wine.
JULYAN -
(SAVORY) Spicy chicken/turkey pies or pasties.
(SWEET) Cookies of any kind, though he prefers chocolate cookies over all the others.
(DRINK) Black tea, with a spoonful of either sugar syrup or cream
AZRA -
(SAVORY) All kinds of stews and warm soups. Azra likes venison and oxtail the best of all types, though when it comes to soup he prefers ones made with vegetables over meat.
(SWEET) Vanilla bread pudding or honeycombs
(DRINK) Warm wine, as well as any kind of hot chocolate
JAMIE -
(SAVORY) Mushroom pancakes and any kind of crepe with enough filling, preferably not spicy.
(SWEET) Dried fruit rolls with powdered cinnamon and sugar
(DRINK) Apple cider, or light wine
ZEPHYR -
(SAVORY) Fish sticks, or any kind of fish pasties
(SWEET) Jam-filled biscuits
(DRINK) Green tea, as well as any kind of juice. Hates alcoholic beverages.
NADINNE -
(SAVORY) Seafood casserole bowls, usually made with sea-monster meat, as well as roasted lobster claws or shrimp.
(SWEET) Vanilla and strawberry jam cheesecakes
(DRINK) Sweet bubbly/sparkling tea
LUCIYA -
(SAVORY) Vegetable sticks, as well as baked/cooked venison with creamy pasta (preferably with some kind of sauce on the side)
(SWEET) Fresh fruits
(DRINK) Cold Tea, Wine (the stronger the better), or just water
NYX -
(SAVORY) Stuffed and roasted hare/rabbit
(SWEET) Orange and fig cupcakes. Learns to love chocolate desserts due to his friendship with Raelen.
(DRINK) Apricot licor
KADEN-
(SAVORY) Mutton with rice
(SWEET) Vanilla cakes, blueberry pancakes, and sweet pepper jam sandwiches
(DRINK) Grape/Blackberry juice
SYBIL-

I still need to figure out the favorite foods for the rest of the cast, but these are the main ones! I hope you like this and that this answers your Ask properly!

I know you're probably super busy with all the content you've got coming up, but I need some advice if you have the time? I'm throwing a Charmed party to celebrate the 25th anniversary, but I need food and drink ideas linked to the show. All I can think of is Paige's ceiling gazpacho 😅 Do you have any suggestions?
okay so i’m dividing this into lazy baby / lazy bougie baby / semi advanced / advanced levels of just different silly ideas and then also drinks!
lazy baby!
scrying crystals (crystal rock candy)
kit's kats (kit kats, after kit the cat)
lucky charmed (lucky charms o.o)
cole’s birthday cake/cupcakes (chocolate with red icing that says happy 100th birthday cole!)
prue’s turkey no mayo sammies from bucklands (get yourself a deli sandwich, cut it up into easy party sized bites)
black as coleos (oreos :p )
we all scream for ice cream (i would recommend mochi balls as they r also very easy to eat)
leo’s matrimonial pigs in blankets
once in a blue moon cookies (get cookies that are blue)
phoenix wings (spicy hot chicken wings)
duck medallions minus the medallions… (little duck cookies)
sin balls (coconut macaroons or really any other round item i guess)
lazy bougie baby
mark chao's peking duck (it’s peking duck)
black as cole ADVANCED EDITION (something with active charcoal as an ingredient — if you want a drink lemonade is popular — Warning Tho: if you’re on meds take them at least a couple hours before the charcoal bc the charcoal will suck them out of your system if not already absorbed)
a witch's yellowtail (sushi!)
once in a blue moon bowls (get some spirulina bowls from your local snob place, divvy them into like smaller jello type cups, you can even top with like shaved coconut in a little crescent moon pattern to be bougier)
all hallow’s eve altar pies (get tiny pumpkin or apple pies)
cole’s conception chocolates (get some nice chocolates)
quake and bakes (buy some edibles)
semi advanced
furies toast (get a baguette, grill it so it has a light char, add a neutral flavor (like a brie or avocado or something like softer on the palate), top with smoked salmon and maybe smoked chili flakes)
piper's audition recipe (stuffed pasta shells. alternately penne with some red wine sauce)
(don't) bite me-s (garlic knots \( •_•)_†… this could also be purchased tbh)
all hallow’s eve altar pies but you make them and get to do cute things with the top crust
p3 cookies (make cookies and decorate em with the p3 logo)
advanced
homeowner’s meeting tapas (goat cheese pizza, onion tartlets, chicken satay…)
the actual duck medallions
piper’s audition recipe (roast pork with gratin of fennel and penne with a port giblet sauce 😳)
drinks!
jeremy's gift (port)
primrosé empath (rosé)
seer's tonic (get some of those wellness shots or whatever apple cider vinegar type things and serve em in plastic champagne flutes)
paige signature (perrier baby!)
aunt gail's power stripping tea (buy a large jug of arizona iced tea, spike it if you're feeling fun!)
all halliwell's eve apple cider (can also be spiked!)
p3 h2o (this is what you label the water as)
p baxter's giggle water (gin and tonics, or really any alcohol tbh)
ms. hellfire (spicy margs)
grimlock vanquishing potion (midori sour)
p-3-ña coladas (piña coladas)
i hope u have so so much fun at your party!! tell me what u make!! <3

Favorite kind of cheese? Mine is shredded mozzarella 😋
Shredded mozzarella is AMAZING you have good taste! Okay so "favorites" are always hard for me bc I either have too many to choose (like favorite Taylor song? Yeah I can't) or it changes all the time. So currently here's my cheese rundown:
So for like snacking for just eating on its own. There is this brand from Australia called Old Crock and it's all good but their garlic&herb cheddar is SO. EPICALLY. GOOD. Hands down my favorite. But- I can't find it anywhere anymore!!! There was a brief period before covid where it was at almost every grocery store but now it's gone and I'm SO SAD I've even written the company twice. But that's definitely my favorite for snacking/charcuterie. Second choice is usually sharp white cheddar, and my favorite is from Kerrygold which is an Irish brand that makes dairy from grass-fed animals which is important with our diet stuff so we get their butter and also they make a cheese called Dubliner which is also really, really good especially as a melted/fondue cheese. Though both I've used on eggs and to snack on.
Otherwise, favorites depend on what use the cheese will be for. Brie for any melted cheese creation, there's a recipe I want to find; this local restaurant had cheese fries made with a brie, garlic & sage sauce and I've always wanted to figure that one out. Speaking if cheese fries that is one guilty pleasure which tbh it's been years but back in Chicago they have the cheese fries with the really melty yummy orangeish cheese that I know is not nutritionally the best so it's a treat but I do LOVE IT. Like the cheese fries from Portillo's or Steak N' Shake. Speaking of things I only find in Chicago I also love Greek food and I really love Saganaki which is an American-Greek creation but it's the one they light on fire and it's usually made with a specific cheese that's either goat or sometimes sheep and I want to find it and try making it someday. I used to be really picky and think things like feta were gross but now I love it like on gyros and Greek salads. I do still HATE bleu cheese and swiss cheese I cannot stand those and only *sometimes* gorgonzola.
Mozzarella with/in lots of pasta dishes is a must and very yummy for snacking; though I prefer parmesan for anything I need to actually melt cheese into and like to make homemade Alfredo. I also use parm a lot in eggs and on salads etc so many uses. For sandwiches I tend towards slices of Monterey or Colby jack slices if not regular medium cheddar. I will also snack away on cheddar but tend to like it sharper. Tillamook cheddar is good.
Anyways if anyone doubted my love of cheese I mean

that is a good painting for a woman
I could write a never-ending poem or five or 8 for each year I spent in art school in Lithuania and still have things to say about it. There is a lot that could be said about long hours at school drawing a lousy made replica of Ancient Greek sculpture or people who hanged themselves high as Christmas decorations in the building, “psychologists” who tell you to clap your hands instead of helping to cope with an enormous amount of stress and anxiety. And that is not even a fraction of stories that happened there. But everyone in my country knows this - the school is notorious for manufacturing one note “artists” (future teachers and people who create a “meaning”, even though that meaning is as boring as a grilled cheese sandwich) and people who have mental health problems. What the public eye doesn’t see, is the treatment of women artists. I would like to say “treatment behind the closed doors”, but that would be a complete lie, since the execution of sensitive souls is carried out in the broad daylight. This happens mainly because teachers and artists don’t know any better and their behaviour is not only praised by their colleagues, but by young artists (including women) themselves.
I was always known for my “bravery”. Even though I couldn't even hop through the gymnastics goat, I was always afraid to carry my cigarettes with me and be caught by the police (it happened to someone else once, so my fear wasn’t an irrational one. Well, maybe it was), but I always had strength to stand up for myself. In kindergarten, we were required to learn Lithuanian folk art - my country attempts to make us patriotic from a very young age, and if you look at my artwork from the first year, you can see that they succeeded in making us patriotic. We had to sing a very old song that was meantfor workers in a windmill. We had to be put in different groups and I didn’t hear which group I am in, so I just sat on the bench and waited for an opportunity to ask again where should I go. The teacher was absolutely furious that I was left there sitting and started to shout at me (that is a late-motif for a Lithuanian - any emotion should and can be expressed through anger). I looked at her - 6 year-old with poor kid’s outfit that some time ago belonged to another poor kid and asked the teacher: “do you need a calming tea or something?”. No one in my family asked this question, but for some reason I knew that it is exactly I should say. And this sentiment that no matter what happens, no matter what kind of teachers starts to express their disappointment, I should always stand up for myself.
Even though my art school was so horrible in so many aspects, there were some positive things. For example, I had art history lessons, so I know who Magritte is, and that German expressionists liked Nida. We used to skip my lovely teacher's lessons whenever we wanted to smoke illegal cigarettes from Belarus or to finish another worthless piece of "art" before the deadline. She knew that a 17-year-old would skip classes on a whim either way, so she decided to make a deal - to make up for the lost time, we had to write some small tests. So, after we collectively skipped the class,  we had to pick a random card with Lithuanian painting on it and write a comment. Everyone considered this task an easy one andcompleted in a matter of minutes, me and my friend, on the other hand, took this seriously and sat there for quite a while. I completed my task before her and decided to wait for my friend - she was the last left. I laid my head on a backpack and naively thought I could get some rest, at least for a minute. Art history teacher was surprised by how long my friend took,so she decided to look through what she wrote and maybe help her. So, she looked at the card that my friend picked and loudly, without any hesitation said “Oh, you got this painting… That is a good painting for a woman!”.
All of my sensors were wakened up from the dead. I lifted my head that felt so heavy from the lack of rest and sleep, looked at my teacher and loudly asked “good painting… for a woman?”. She was surprised by my question more than I was surprised by her remark. We got into an argument - not because we were angry by each other, but because we couldn't understand why we couldn't agree on this matter. My friend didn’t get me either - apparently, in the room of 3 women, who have their own in the art world, I was the one who saw a problem here. The next day, my friend brought up this situation in our small drawing group - just to make fun of me. There were two more young women, and still no one really understood why I wasn’t pleasantly surprised by that "fabulous" comment.
However, the next week during my art history class, my teacher stepped out of her way and prepared slides on "FeministArt”. I don’t know if she did it because my comment was thought-provoking, or out of malice, but either way, we spent 2 hours that week talking about Tracey Emin and Cindy Sherman, and every time she said the word “feminism”, she gazed at me with a little smile - just like little kids do when they find a secret stash of candies.

a weekend! the first weekend!
sent k to the airport thursday night and grabbed otto to come have a sleepover with ollie and the gang
friday morning walk and making breakfast! then off to work with the littles and board and brew for lunch, amazing. had some afternoon planning and then home immediately to do nothing. got a bit bored and the babies were stuck to me like glue, but otherwise a pretty nice time.
saturday - up early again for a walk and some tinkering with the giant tub of farmers cheese I bought. looks like i will in fact find a purpose for it, but i do in fact like goat cheese and feta better. then coordinated a facebook marketplace pickup and off to lakeshore / barnes and noble. got my amazing beautiful planner, got very overstimulated at lakeshore, and ran to the bathroom at barnes. it was so muggy.
ran over to traders where i was the deeply starving and decided to let loose and become the grabbiest version of myself. notable grabs include pesto, cookie ice cream sandwiches, and my favorite fake takis. and cauliflower!
back home to endless TWIG research, turns out i did not even open the iReady book, but that is ok! drove over to coronado to hang with amie and cristina for pizzeria luigi, drinks, and laughing our heads off at hot dog roller machines, among other things. what lovely people and what a lovely evening. home, sleep, happiness.
sunday - breakfast and hanging with the pups, off to clairemont to meet a very kind kinder teacher with book bins who offered more if i wanted, and then to k's to move his car and my car and check up on the house. and it rained!
home for lunch and then in a moment of pure overwhelm at all the clothes - i decided to grab another clothes rod for my closet storage system. googled, game planned, and went into the belly of the beast. busy and chaotic, but got exactly what i needed, some clothes hangars, a lunch box, dish brush, and some yellow tubs! fun!
home AGAIN to wrestle with the closet and find my system is outdated and the new system doesn't quite fit with the old, so rigging it to kinda fit because i spent over an hour working on this thing. jules suggested a wedge and i shoved some paper in there. it looks gorgeous and i sweat blood for this. also finally removed the nails all over the floor. it looks incredible and all my clothes fit finally. what an incredible win.
then downstairs in exhaustion to make a calzone and salad prep, and banana bread with terrifying bananas from the freezer. food, hanging with jules nate and the pups, and finally finally relaxing getting ready for bed and the week ahead. it'll be nuts, but man what a lovely weekend it's been

qotd: Do you prefer city or country living? Why? . Aotd: City living is my favorite because I love walking everywhere, even though I live in the suburbs. . After a wild bet, gourmet grilled-cheese sandwich, and cuddle with a baby goat, Alexis Montgomery has had her world turned upside down. The cause: Daniel Grant, a ridiculously hot carpenter who’s ten years younger than her and as casual as they come—the complete opposite of sophisticated city-girl Alexis. And yet their chemistry is undeniable. While her ultra-wealthy parents want her to carry on the family legacy of world-renowned surgeons, Alexis doesn’t need glory or fame. She’s fine with being a “mere” ER doctor. And every minute she spends with Daniel and the tight-knit town where he lives, she’s discovering just what’s really important. Yet letting their relationship become anything more than a short-term fling would mean turning her back on her family and giving up the opportunity to help thousands of people. Bringing Daniel into her world is impossible, and yet she can’t just give up the joy she’s found with him either. With so many differences between them, how can Alexis possibly choose between her world and his? The New York Times bestselling author of Life's Too Short delivers a refreshingly modern fairy tale perfect for fans of Casey McQuiston and Emily Henry. . #booklover #bookstagram #bookishescape #mybookfeatures #readingiscool #bookpic #booksarelife #bookishlove #bookstack #becauseofreading #readingoutside #abbyjiminez #booksandbeans #bookcollection #booksofinstagram #readingtime #amreading #bookaholic #prettybooks #bookreview #bookreviewer #bookobsessed #ilovereading #booksofinstagram #booknerdigans #nakedbooks #bookwormlife #bookcommunity #readmore #readinglife (at Columbus, Ohio) https://www.instagram.com/p/CnKZL81L7Al/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Hi Sofia! ❤️ How is it going? Sorry I'm a little late! So much to do and so tired recently 🥲
Hope you enjoyed a bit of your free time!! When are you done done with finals? 👀
Gonna confess, Im a glutton for food so always happy to hear people talk about their fav food too 😆. I know pannettone!! But I've only tried the Italian version, not sure how different they are (but I'm also sure the homemade ones are always the best!). Do you cook/bake too? :O I love empanadas too but I think I only know the fried ones! I had to Google the other two, BUT Locro looks so hearty to have omg and the alfajores looks so soft and good?! I wanna try them! 🤤 Just talking about it makes me so hungry right now... I do hope you'll get to eat all your favs this holiday season!!
Hmm I like a lot of different food too! And trying different countries food is always exciting to me so I like a little of everything. My favs is usually Japanese dishes or asian ones but specifically—I LOVE duck (the chinese ones in particular but also the seared foie gras), grilled meat 😅, sushi, udon (noodles are usually always a win), korean fried chicken or karaage. Randomly, I also like al pastor tacos, a good sandwich (roast beef is my go to ^^ ), samosas, hot pot, most potato things, cheese in general esp. gouda or goat!... I'll stop now hahaha. Btw do you have any favorite drinks?
Aww Im glad you enjoyed getting to where you are now! Asjdkkdd I'm not sure if my field fits me, there's definitely times I question it but it's what I do for now 😂😭.
The books—I'm familiar with the first few (jane austen books we had to read those in school!) but not the rest so I'll have to look it up sometime!! I had no ides howls moving castle was also a book! I'm sad to hear reading for uni took away reading for fun 😭. I honestly haven't picked up a book in ages so I feel this tho. These days I just read fanfics, I wonder if you were ever into those? 👀
Ahhh please!! I too love a lot of the scenes you picked as a fav! OMG AL 😭 you make me want to do a rewatch again of fmab...and the train scene with ed/winry and that line he says totally has my heart. AND THE MOB PARTS!! When the OST came on for both of those scenes? It was the most perfect beautiful ones and that song is one of my favs! That's when I knew I /loved Mp100 haha. HQ ahh so many good moments right...hinata growing is always so heartwarming, but so are the rest of them 😭. Honestly I want to rewatch hq like at least every year LOL... the sxf ones too, I love bond and I didn't expect to love Damien but it's growing. You picked such great favs ahh, let's see what Santa can do with those. 😉
Btw I haven't mentioned this yet, but went through your edits and you have such pleasant sets. So I want to ask! Do you have a favorite kind of style either that others make or that you lean towards? What inspires you to create?
Thank you for indulging me again and talk soon!!
- Animanga 🎅
So nice to see you again, secret santa ❤️ please don't apologize!! I hope you're doing well despite everything you need to do :')
My last final was the 6th, so I'm already on vacations for a while! I'm actually with my family at the beach rn hahahaha
Heh I totally get you! I honestly have no idea if there's a difference between italian panettone and the one we eat here 🤔 Empanadas can be either fried or oven baked!! They have a lot of variations between each southamerican country, in places like Colombia for example they always eat them fried, but here it's more common to have them baked as far as I know! Yeah locro is really comforting, carefully crafted to eat during winter >:) the tradition is eating it on may 25th, one of our two patriotic dates. Alfajores are heavenly!! I'm pretty sure they aren't very easy to find in other countries but if you ever stumble upon them and you're craving something sweet, I couldn't recommend them enough!
My mom is a baker that works from home (studied it professionally and all) but I admit I'm not much of a baker/cook myself 😅 I do enjoy cooking and if I'm given a detailed recipe there's a good chance I'll do mostly good, but for some reason I'm not very drawn to the kitchen. I do want to start cooking more tho, I just don't have much initiative. What about you?
Ooohh I think I've never tried duck now that I think about it 🤔 I want to try it now!! I haven't had the chance to try a big amount of asian dishes but I loved the ones I did try <3 i also love sushi and noodles!! Ohh korean fried chicken sounds delicious! I went to a korean food fair a few weeks ago with some friends and my favorite were the tteokbokki and the bulgogi 🤤
Oh I also adore tacos and anything with potato and cheese in it LMAOOO honestly idk if i have favorite drinks, I mostly like cappuccino and hot cocoa. When it comes to cold drinks, I'm fine with water or diet coke. I also like freshly squeezed orange juice 🧡
Oh you read Jane Austen for school?? Lucky you! We didn't read anything remotely similar in my high school, and then in uni my english literature teacher didn't like her books so we didn't read them 😭 I ended up reading pride and prejudice for another completely different class later on, and now I'm reading sense and sensibility by myself!
Oh I do read some fanfics from time to time, but definitely not with the consistency most people on fandoms do. Once in a blue moon I get obsessed with a character or a ship during like one evening and then spend the rest of the night searching for fanfics. I have bad luck at finding ones that actually catch my attention so I don't do it often.
HAHAHA I'm glad you liked the scenes I chose! Resisting the temptation to rewatch fmab is a constant struggle really 😖 same for Haikyuu! Oh yeah mob's soundtrack also takes the cake, wouldn't be the same without it 💕 Damien also grew a lot in me! His crush on Anya is so adorable. Can't wait to see what Santa does ;)
Awww thank you! My edits mean a lot to me so I'm very happy you like them 🥹 ohh that's such a hard question!! I find all editing styles or technics to be great on their own right, but I personally lend more towards gifs and graphics with soft colors, with subtle patterns and textures, carefully put together quotes and well placed panels! Maybe my explanation is a bit abstract so these are some examples:
https://at.tumblr.com/alphonseelriic/romancegifs-romancegifs-10k-followers-celebration/u4wogp3dgfbe
https://at.tumblr.com/alphonseelriic/meqistus-look-at-me-i-will-never-pass-for-a/gbfxrdxw73fz
https://at.tumblr.com/alphonseelriic/mazusu-assassination-its-the-family-trade-we/6o0wy6grzd58
https://at.tumblr.com/alphonseelriic/suzouyas-grand-king-oikawa-tooru-%E5%8F%8A%E5%B7%9D-%E5%BE%B9-for/891elmqmjv49
Obviously this doesn't mean I don't like sets with stronger or vibrant colors!! As long as there's harmony between them, any color combos will be great :') I also love gifsets with big, clear and crispy gifs! You see a lot of them now that tumblr has updated their size limit lol
What inspires me to create is mostly the process, which I usually enjoy a lot (unless I'm creatively stuck, then not so much hahaha). I also love looking at other's creations and seeing if I can make something as beautiful! The challenges from animangacreators are also very helpful when I wanna make something and I don't know what ;)
That was a very nice talk!! See you again soon, my santa ❤️

June 6th, 2022
Today was a free day, ours to do with whatever we wanted. So, obviously, Beia and I finally slept in. I woke up at 10 to find the weather was grey and moist once more (frowny face). The evening before, we had made reservations at this adorably expensive brunch place, Far’s Dreng, so, after killing time in the morning for a few hours, we met with Tessa and Alice and walked over for our 12:15 reservation. Immediately, I loved the vibe of the restaurant. It was what I could only describe as uniquely Instagrammable and quirky, with fake plants in macrame hangers dangling down from the ceiling all around and above us. The menu was very pricey, so I readied my wallet (lol). There was a menu of smorebrod, the open faced sandwiches which are very popular over here, where they recommended, for a satisfying meal, to order at least two (for like $10 each). The rest of the menu had sandwiches and waffles and other brunchy things. I ordered the Chevron sandwich, this delicious grilled panini type thing with sun-dried tomatoes, pesto, and gooey, creamy goat cheese. I, again, keep saying stuff like this, but I think it may have been the best sandwich I’ve ever had. I then got the best waffle I’ve ever had in my life- named the “Love Waffle-“ it was crunchy yet doughy, and covered in the syrup of a berry I’d never heard of before with some raspberries and blueberries on top. I also had a matcha latte. I’d definitely say it was all worth the price. It was some damn good brunch.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Afterwards, we killed some time as the rain picked up by doing some shopping. Beia had set up a tattoo appointment for today and Tessa and I had agreed to tag along as emotional support, so we walked around filling the time until the appointment came. We ducked into one store where Alice tried on some cute clothes and bought something. Afterwards, we popped in to a few souvenir stores- so far on this trip, I have been on a very unsuccessful hunt to find quality Christmas ornaments. These souvenir shops were also kind of a let down in that regard- can’t find a single ornament that says “Copenhagen/Kobenhavn” or has anything resembling the city on it! It’s all little dolls on ornament hooks, a few with a (kind of wimpy) Danish flag on them. Luckily, I found a few other cute things to bring back home, and a souvenir pencil for my boyfriend.
Tumblr media
By the time we were finished with the stores, it was time to head out for Beia’s tattoo appointment at this place called “Betty Zoo Tattoo.” Alice wanted to do more shopping, so we parted ways and the remaining three of us made it to the studio, descending a small flight of stairs and opening the door to this adorably decorated clean-looking studio that smelled of flowers, had plants everywhere, and was covered in aesthetically pleasing art. By this point, I could tell Beia was getting a bit nervous, so I tried my very best to reassure her (which probably came across as awkward, but oh well lol). Her appointment, however, went super smoothly! Her artist came down, she airdropped her tattoo design to the artist, the artist made a few adjustments so that the tattoo would fade well, and they got to the chair! Her artist (whose name I’ve forgotten) diligently went to work tattooing the tiny thin-line windmill design Beia came in with on the back of her lower leg, not saying a word the whole time. Meanwhile, Tessa and I sat on the couch and kinda shared space to peek over at the artist in work. All in all, it really only took about 15 minutes to complete! I didn’t get to see the outcome at this point, because the artist immediately wrapped it. Beia got up, reeling a bit from adrenaline, and asked about payment only to find out that the shop only accepted cash or MobilePay (Denmark’s equivalent of Venmo/Cashapp, that didn’t allow anyone with an American phone number to sign up on it). So, we needed to go find an ATM for her to use. She took a break before setting out to find an ATM, feeling a bit shaken up still. I’m honestly so surprised by how trusting her artist was to let her walk out the door without paying to go find an ATM. Eventually, we followed as she went all the way back by Norreport station to use one of the ATMs we had been passing by daily. She got her cash, and we walked another 15 or so minutes back to complete the transaction.

Once her tattoo process was finally wrapped up, we were all a bit snackish. Wanting to spend some more time exploring Nyhavn, we headed that way and found an Espresso House (which seems to be their equivalent of Starbucks?) to grab a quick bite at. Normally I would get a coffee, but I wasn’t feeling the need for caffeine, so I ordered a chocolate croissant (they are SO good over here) and this delicious toasted bagel (which had warm veggies on it… definitely an interesting choice). We sat to eat and chat, mostly about our pets- finding out that Tessa and Beia also have family cats. As I ate, I looked up and noticed something odd in the shop’s rafters- a pigeon had managed to sneak in to the cafe! The employees seemed to have noticed it about when I had, so they took a broomstick and started trying to get the pigeon down. All this accomplished, however, was making the pigeon scoot a couple feet away from them to the left. Oddly enough, as far as I can tell, the employees gave up trying to kick it out after this? As we finished our snacks and left, the pigeon was still there. Lucky bird, I guess.

Anyways, we went back out into the street only to find that, between us and some of the stores I wanted to shop at, was a marathon! To cross the street, we had to climb on this terribly shaky about 20-foot-high temporary metal bridge they had set up. I could feel every tremble of the metal all around me, and sat there hoping that they designed the flimsy metal panels under my feet to withstand someone plus-sized lol. Definitely kicked my fear of heights into action.

Anyways, Nyhavn was understandably super crowded with people watching the marathon either from the sidewalk or from a restaurant table. So that made it a bit less fun to explore.

As we walked amongst the crowds, I noticed a few touristy shops to pop in to for souvenirs. Frustratingly, still no luck with finding a Christmas ornament! How frustrating. Shopping was otherwise uneventful, and it seemed it was only the streets and restaurants crowded with people there for the marathon event. After shopping, we sat down at a restaurant right next to (what a classmate had said was) one of the oldest running tattoo shops in the world, which I thought was neat. Seemed like a small hole in the wall type place, almost literally (we peeked down through the windows and it looked like it was only one room!). Anyways, we sat at one of the few open tables, I had an overpriced beer, and I did some tarot readings for Beia and Tessa with the new tarot deck I had gotten the other day. They went well! I’m always pleasantly surprised when I do readings for people and they resonate or are otherwise super accurate. I’m not really the best tarot reader out there, and I don’t practice nearly enough (it’s no fun reading tarot for yourself), but I love when I do get to read for others. Almost lost some cards while shuffling, which wasn’t great.
After beer and tarot, we stood up again to see if there were any other interesting stores nearby, finding that most of Nyhavn seemed to have places for food or drink and not a whole lot else. That was alright, though, because we had made plans with Dane and the others in the “introvert group” to meet up once again at Bastard Cafe for another night of drinks, delicious fries, and board games! So, after wrapping up our second exploration of Nyhavn, we headed straight to Bastard Cafe. We were the first there, so we grabbed a long table outside. I was going to try to order some food and drink through their mobile app, but wasn’t seeing what I wanted, so I and a couple others went inside to order. We got some more delicious salt and vinegar fries with truffle mayo (thanks to Beia, this time) and I ordered some wine that was supposed to taste like Pina Colada. It kind of did! It was really more of a Sangria, but that’s alright.

By the time food and drinks arrived at our table the others had made it. Dane went to go search out some games- the first game of the night was to be Cards Against Muggles, a Harry Potter parody of Cards Against Humanity. Admittedly, I wasn’t super hyped for this. I like CAH-style games, to an extent, but where we were sitting was very loud and I’m never excited to have my turn as the card czar and try to speak up over both our table and everyone else outside to read peoples’ card submissions. I also know next to nothing about Harry Potter. I mean, I know my house and I’ve watched most of the movies, but if you ask me who tf Neville Longbottom is I don’t think I can answer. The game played alright. I think most of us felt about the same about it. Funny enough, as we asked each other our houses, I noticed that there were more Hufflepuffs than anything, and that the four of us had grouped together on one end of the table unknowingly. But yeah, other than houses, I don’t really know anything and others were in the same boat, so the game died kind of quickly, sending Dane in search of some other good games for a group of 8ish.

He came back with another CAH-style game, Cards Against Disney. This game played quite a bit better, either because more of us understood Disney references than Harry Potter references, or because a good handful of us were getting somewhat tipsy, myself included. I had gotten a delicious fruity Rose after the sangria, but it sure hit harder than I expected it to! Needless to say I got no other alcohol after that one. As for the game, we had a reasonable amount of fun. Some of us just weren’t into it. I think, once you reach a certain age, that’s kind of how playing CAH-style games goes. For me, the novelty of this type of game kind of wore off around when I was 18. Although I gotta say, for a game about Disney characters/movies (and that was probably sponsored by Disney), it was EXTREMELY raunchy. I was so expecting it to be a family-friendly game because Disney is notorious for their “Wholesome, family-friendly” brand (which is why they’ve canceled one of my favorite cartoons in the whole world just for having just one same-sex couple), making it quite a bit hypocritical to have a card game available with jokes about extremely gross, taboo topics. I mean, Disney’s hypocrisy aside, it did make it more interesting than if it wasn’t raunchy, I guess.
Anyways, the Disney game eventually sort of died out as well. Eventually, we said f it, and went in search of Secret Hitler. Those of us familiar with the game liked it a lot and wanted to play again and teach Jacob and Brandon how to play, as they hadn’t been with us for the first visit to Bastard Cafe. And we had a blast. Brandon’s facial expressions were so funny when handing out the Chancellor plaque/making policy decisions in the game, Jacob was just as funny, I’m glad they made it this time! There were some good rounds. I wound up with the role of “Fascist” more in the rounds we played then I probably ever have when playing the game back home. There was a round where all of the girls who were playing wound up with fascist cards, I think Beia was the Secret Hitler that round- which wound up pretty hilariously. Every time the guys would accuse us of being fascists (which happened often because Alice has like no poker face), I’d accuse them of being sexist, even though (especially Brandon) was basically on to us. I think somebody accused me of being the Secret Hitler and wound up dead in the game because they were wrong. If I remember right, us gals won, though. It was a blast. However, we didn’t play too many more rounds after this because we were all getting a little tired, and the cafe was only really open for another hour anyways.
We headed home around 10PM, right as the sun was setting. The sky above was so gorgeous. I still find their sunrise/sunset times so strange, though, and struggle to picture what it’s like in the winter, when the opposite is the case and there’s only 5-6 hours of daylight. Regardless, it’s been surreal walking around at what I’d consider to be night time with a bright blue sky or a sunset overhead (plus knowing that the sun just comes right back at 3-4AM).

Once we made it back, I relaxed and spent some time working on blogs and journals again. I’ve started falling behind, so I have a feeling these blogs are going to start being more than a day behind. Maybe I shouldn’t be typing so much for each day………………. Nah.
