Just binged the entire season of Wednesday so I can start reading fanfics and I have some thoughts

The show is not good. I didn’t hate every second of it but it was not enjoyable. Not even halfway through, I was already bored and needed a short break to get back in. This show is not about The Addams Family, far from it. It’s like someone turned a fanfic full of headcanon into a show. Pugsley was not acting like himself, Morticia and Wednesday had a falling out, and Gomez and Morticia don’t have the same chemistry the ones from the past had. I’d like to note that I’m using the 1990s film as my main basis of what the Family is supposed to be like as that is the most accepted portrayal of them that is known well enough. I’ve seen videos of avid fans of the Addams family speaking ill of the show and I was not expecting this. I have a lot of thoughts about the show, and not many of them are nice, so I’ll end this here. Was it worth watching? It was a nice show to play in the background while I played a mind-numbing game. Also, I did it for the fanfics. I wanted to read Wenclair fics and I will now do so.
