The Shipping Corner: Voxman, A Balm for Capitalist-Induced Angst

Note: I'm sorry this took as long as it did. I've been in a pretty bad slump recently and am just now coming out of it.

Lord Boxman is the black sheep among his peers. This is first established with Professor Venomous' initial distaste towards him and the later reactions he gets when he unexpectedly shows up at Billiam Milliam's villain yacht party. The only kinds of relationships Boxman has with other villains amount to strictly business transactions to create their robot minions. The shareholders that directly fund Boxmore are especially skeptic of Boxman's destroy the Plaza side venture and see this as a misguided, Snidely Whiplash-esque escapade. He's just a Saturday morning cartoon villain and they're the respectable big leagues. When Boxman funnels so much time, effort, energy, and resources towards the Plaza attacks, it takes precious time away from robot production; the one thing he does they consider valuable or worthwhile. They threaten to cut off their support if Boxman's production doesn't increase and then gladly replace him with Darrell when the opportunity arises. Darrell fits the exact mold they need for a CEO: he focuses exclusively on production.

There's no respect. There's no interest in or concern for Lord Boxman as an individual. The dislike is mutual. Of course Boxman doesn't get along with other villains. Most of the known names and faces on screen hold the purse strings and by extension, the fate of Boxman's entire operation. He feels like he has to put on his best face and performance to keep his business afloat. Without Boxmore, he seemingly has nothing and loses everything material. After Boxman was fired by the shareholders, he becomes absolutely depressed and floats around for awhile until Venomous finds him in his trash can. As much as he hates answering to corporate interests, he's locked in as a "robot manufacturer" as much as an Average Joe is stuck at a 9-5 job because of bills, a mortgage; and most frustratingly, how easily someone can fall into the trappings of letting a job define their self-worth or sense of self.

When Professor Venomous gets introduced, he's partly in Boxman's mental bucket of shareholder/necessary business relationships. Boxman goes to great lengths to hide K.O., Rad, and Enid after accidentally booking his business dinner on the same night as an antagonize the Plaza event. He's scared that his 'hobby' would dissuade Venomous from buying any more of his robots and break their already tenuous business deal. Instead, Venomous starts to see Boxman through literal rose-tinted glasses and becomes interested in Boxman's ongoing Plaza rivalry but uses the robots as a continued excuse to check in again on this weird, intriguing man.

Another interesting precedent is that Boxman is more fond of Venomous from the jump. When interacting with other business partners, Boxman is over-the-top and eager to please in video calls and plays the oblivious idiot in casual settings, but behind closed doors, he's bitter towards them. Boxman won't hug his own children and scoffs at open displays of affection. Yet he wants to touch or hug Venomous as often as he can reasonably get away with. Part of his behavior is the same eager to please facade he gives other interested business parties, but the bigger part is a legitimate interest in developing a more personal relationship with Venomous.

The pink shoujo sparkles and elevator eyes Boxman has for Venomous are a blatant indicator he finds him attractive. That's a surprisingly huge part of what kicks off his interest. Look at how he reacts to Dr. Blight in the Captain Planet crossover. Boxman initially shows skepticism and disinterest towards her crazy plans, but the second she flirts with him, the flip switches. The promise of romantic interest grants her access to the full power and force of Boxmore. When she leaves at the end of the episode, Boxman is disappointed. He wanted to continue their partnership, especially their potential interpersonal one.

In Venomous' case, he gets extra points for joining in the fight after the Plaza brats interrupt dinner. He asks about the design and Lego brick-esque connectivity of the Boxbots. He's not above participating in the Saturday morning cartoon skirmish. Rather, he misses that kind of fight and yearns to experience more exploits like it. Venomous is the only on-screen character outside of Boxman's kids that shows a willingness to listen to, try to understand, and engage with Boxman in a more personable, intimate way.

Professor Venomous fell into villainy after he lost his powers and realized how overbearing he found the moral code heroes have. Being a villain comes naturally to him; he likes the fruits of his labor in the vast amounts of wealth, prestige, and material power that he could gain. Fast forward to present-day in the series and he's the picture of a successful villain. He figures out the easy button for amassing stupid amounts of money by threatening a Congresswoman with a death ray. He's sought out for deals involving his scientific prowess. He's respected and liked among other villains to the point he's invited to Billiam's parties. Though while he has a comfortable position, he's become jaded.

Enter Lord Boxman. Compared to the villains Venomous is used to, Boxman dances to the beat of his own drum. He's more interested in defeating the Plaza than an endless vie for prestige, wealth, or power. He says he doesn't care what the other villains think of him and how he does things. No matter what happens, he's going to carve out his own path as a villain and do what he wants to with his life. Somehow, Venomous got tied up in a new, different kind of bureaucratic process as a villain. As a hero, he felt like an outcast and a loser everybody looked down on without super powers. As a villain, he has everything he thought he wanted but it was more of a means to make up for what he lost. It was more compensating and filling in an existential hole vs actually taking meaningful control of his life. In stark contrast to that, Boxman knows exactly what he wants and puts his all into every pursuit, consequences and obstacles be damned.

Collaborating with Boxman is an epiphany. Dreaming up new schemes and plots to challenge the Plaza is fun. It's fulfilling and satisfying to Venomous in a way that heroics and solo villain ventures weren't. There's one scene in particular after Boxman and Venomous join forces for the first time and lose spectacularly. Both of them are smiling; it's joyous. Boxman was down and out without Boxmore, but building Fink's attack trike was a spark of hope that he can rebuild even if its from the ground-up. Venomous just lost his nice house and all of his current material possessions because Boxman blew everything up. But then Boxman turned around and presented the exact existential solution Venomous didn't know he needed by suggesting attacking the Plaza. It's the dinner party attack, but this time, Venomous was a full part of the planning phases. He gets to share in and fully experience the devil-may-care and more whimsical parts of being a villain he thought were long gone.

Venomous offers to buy out Boxmore and root out the shareholders. Finally, Boxman is free of one of the bigger obstacles between him and his all-time favorite venture. Not only does Boxman have free reign, but also the equal partner he so desperately desired; someone that's on his same wavelength and as invested in his kind of villainy as he is.

Another important dimension to Venomous' character is his destructive spiral as Shadowy Venomous. Finding that 'missing piece' in Boxman and Boxmore respectively isn't a magic solution. There's significant baggage in how much emphasis Venomous placed on his need for power. This was such a huge quest and chunk of his life that its difficult to give up on the idea entirely. Its similar to how some people spend so much time chasing after a specific job title or promotion that this elusive thing becomes an important part of what defines them or contributes to their sense of self worth. Venomous left Carol because of a gross misunderstanding that she saw him as weak. He was missing the value he assigned to super powers for so long that every new solution was always a band-aid or a stop gap.

Someone can find a thing or circumstances that significantly improves their life, but they need to see and recognize this psychologically too for it to be completely effective. In other words, Venomous needed to recognize the real-time changes and results from joining Boxmore, then figure out how to weigh those continued changes with his own self-discovery or improvement.

Boxman started improving on being a more proactive parent. Unfortunately, Venomous started getting lost in his own head and pulling away from his other responsibilities or general life. A change as big as a new partner, surroundings, and blended family would be enough to kickstart depression; especially because Venomous hadn't appropriately addressed why he needed this abstract concept of what it meant to be the 'most powerful being.' Success and self-actualization weren't included with the previous accolades he achieved as a villain. It wasn't obvious and forthcoming with Boxman either. The lack of introspection and vulnerable talks with Boxman or anyone else is exactly what led to the wind-up and eventual "I'll destroy everything if it means getting rid of the years of resentment and frustration."

Both Venomous and Boxman have some sort of adult trapped in the shitty corporate world element to their character writing. In a nutshell, Boxman struggles with the existential threat of losing who he is to one specific job he performs; Venomous finds villainy gratifying as more of a hobby or extracurricular activity vs a full-time job. He's successful at it but the version he's successful at is more of a distraction or a means to fill in a missing part of himself than true interest in his corporate role. Boxman's approach to villainy is considered juvenile and worthless. Venomous still loves villainy but he wants the freedom to have fun and go all-out without worrying about reputation or meeting the specific standards that comes with his current position.

In 2024, after the various rise of corporate buzzwords trying to guilt employees back to pre-pandemic work standards and inflation vs stagnant wages, there's new weight to the Boxman and Venomous character allegories respectively. These two are that success story of Boxman giving the middle finger to a crappy boss and Venomous making that leap of faith from an empty, soul-sucking job to the more wild, out of pocket thing. Venomous' ill-obtained funds becomes that treasured pile of "fuck you" money that so many people dream about having and using to take a risk on something personally, meaningfully valuable to them. Or just having a window of opportunity to enjoy life the way they want to without having to worry about bills and necessities.

More importantly though, while they describe themselves as business partners, it's two single, lonely men building a life and trying to healthfully blend their families together. Part of this life is making space for someone new that makes the other man want to work on becoming a better, more thoughtful person. Regardless of where a person sits in their job hunt or even at the height of personal achievement, the most important part is the support network they come home to or regularly interact with.

Thematically, Boxman and Venomous are the opposite side of the coin to the more straightforward found family K.O. builds and maintains. It's a reminder that no one has to be lonely. They can and will find someone that brings meaningful, valuable things to their life; someone that makes them want to change and grow. While this is about an explicitly romantic pair, the message applies whether that hypothetical person and relationship is romantic, platonic, or a new addition to a found family.

4. what was the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person?

genderbending saren to make kryterius m/f like a fucking coward*. tagged me in wip games featuring her sharterius work when i am very openly and vocally an aggressive hater of that ship and also wrote saren horrifically ooc. other annoying crimes. finally rbed a post from me and tagged it as being about "milf saren" and i lost it and blocked goodbye

*note: i enjoy a good gb fic myself, there's a few from ye olde kmeme that i still like, but she ONLY wrote kryterius as gb m/f and didn't ever interact with my stuff for them that was m/m which reeks of bad implications to me. go away straight

7. what character did you begin to hate not because of canon but because how how the fandom acts about them?

kaidan. kaidan kaidan kaidan. the ONLY way i managed to save him for myself was retreating from fandom and finding a few sane shenko mutuals (they know who they are). he's a good fun character! i enjoy writing him! he's my friend! but my god shenkos (and frankly ESPECIALLY mshenkos) make me hate him so much.

garrus also started to suffer this fate but tragically there are no sane shakarians only ex-shakarians who migrated to the niche corner (mwah) so instead i had to just ship him in a rarepair nobody likes but me, quite literally i'm making the fucking tag, that's the only thing that's saved him and tbh i still kinda worry im not writing him in character

12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them

i mean really. is there any other character i COULD talk about. look at my entire brand here.

the councilors in general have WAY more character than they're given credit for, especially the original three who have 3 games of dialogue to work with instead of just 1 for the replacement three, and i could honestly do an entire essay for each of them, but let's stick to grandpa for now. putting this under a cut i went insane

this man is the ONLY councilor who's actually DOING HIS FUCKING JOB CORRECTLY. he's the one who's always trying to stick to the law and uphold it, tevos's hand-wringing about diplomacy be damned, especially in the first game. he's a representative of the people and he CARES about the people, every SINGLE time he scolds you in the first game and when he makes his dramatic entrance in udina's office in the third he's specifically concerned with the public at large:

after feros he's concerned that you only intervened because it's a human colony, and wants to be certain you aren't going to just ignore non-humans and will protect the galaxy at large, not just humans

after therum he's reasonably worried that liara is working with her mother and you've just helped a huge threat to the galaxy walk free

after noveria, if you killed the rachni queen he's reasonably concerned about why you just acted without any sort of "yo heads up" call or advice, whereas if you saved her. YEAH NO SHIT HE'S WORRIED ABOUT THAT ACTUALLY did you hear all the reasons the rachni returning should be a much bigger deal than the game treats it of course he's like "that's extremely fucked up why would you do that"

at the start of me3 he is the ONLY one of all 4 councilors to actively, directly state that people are scared and it's their duty as galactic leaders to stay calm and protect their people, indirectly calling out udina for calling him a coward because udina demanding help for earth and ignoring the alien worlds is doing the exact same thing he's complaining about them doing in turn

keep in mind that from his perspective in me1 YOU ARE LITERALLY A POLITICAL POWER PLAY. you literally get the job because udina wants a human spectre and it's convenient to send you after saren, you didn't actually go through the proper process to be vetted and confirmed, for all they know you're every inch as human-centric and unconcerned with aliens as every other alliance twat they've met at this point. and the alliance, via hackett and anderson's attitudes, REGULARLY prove that all they care about is having somebody who can ignore the law! and depending on how you play the game you can in fact confirm that you shouldn't have been given this authority and are just doing shady shit for hackett that he can't do on the level! you can in fact PROVE SPARKY RIGHT! high-renegade shepard actually fucking proves why sparky was right to vote no on you i will die on this hill

he's also the only one to actually fucking help you in the third game right away. literally goes behind the others' backs to do it. they just voted "nah we have to worry about our own people first" and he swooces right around with a solid first step for you to take and a clear understanding that everyone has to work together regardless of udina being a lil bitch. everyone who likes those mods/edits of doing air quotes and "ah yes, reapers"-ing him back to mock him in this scene is my enemy and also a fucking idiot you don't mock the person who is 1) actively trying to help you and 2) YOUR LITERAL BOSS SHUT UPPPPP

speaking of ah yes reapers. he's justified in saying that. i dont care what whiny little princesses your shepards are. he's been dealing with anderson for TWO FUCKING YEARS who has literally not shut the fuck up about it, when inciting galactic panic is the LAST thing they should be doing. of course he's tired. of course he's annoyed this is coming up again. the man has been putting up with this for two fucking years he wants to go back to bed.

ALSO in the opening scroll in 2 it's in fact strongly implied they DO believe you but are keeping quiet to avoid a panic ("the official story") and then the archives in citadel dlc confirm it with the secret spectres-only edition of sovereign's entry. they're not fucking ignoring you or dismissing the threat they're trying to avoid GALAXY-WIDE PANIC YOU FUCKING MORONS

also he has some BITCHING quotes, these two are my favorites they're burned into my brain:

[in response to udina saying he and the council are scared and trying to save their own asses] "Our people are scared, and we're looking out for them the best we know how."

[if you save the rachni queen on noveria] "I hope you're right, Shepard. Our children's children will pay the price if you're not."

also his facial scarring is badass and implies there's so much more to him than just "consummate politician" like bioware's little bio of him implies, and his "children's children" line strongly implies he actually has children's children which lines up with him being visibly older and more aged than the turians we're usually running into in the games and im sure ill think of more stuff later on but that's my unhinged rant for the day

alskdjflasd hey man listen i'll let you in on a couple of secrets. the first one is that, with the exception of the obvious garbage easily accessible on the internet, i generally take things in good faith, and if you're reasonable then i'll be reasonable back. if i ever come across as genuinely stuck-up or irritable well that's mainly because tone is hard to convey through words on a screen (and probably because i tend to post more about whatever stupid shit is happening to me and never about.... idk me winning the lottery ig lmao).

the second secret is that i struggle with this exact same issue. i have this thing where i question myself on a daily basis and fear judgment from every single person who has their eyes on this blog, regardless of how severe/petty their reasons would be (and if they're petty my brain will still find a way to turn it into some moral failing on my behalf). this is NOT something exclusive to strangers because every time i interact with mutuals i'm scared i'm saying something annoying or wrong and it'll be the final nail in the coffin that gets my ass blocked. i don't talk about this all that much because it's ultimately my personal problem to deal with and i can only whine about it so many times before it gets annoying for myself and others. i may come across like i'm perfectly self-assured but trust me i am anything but and if you psychoanalyzed me i think you'd discover that i'm faking it till i'm making it.

anyway lol i had a point in there somewhere. what i'm trying to say is that i'm just a person on the internet and chances are i'm more approachable than you think! and honestly? i'm assuming you have a good idea of the things i'm not cool with considering how vocal i am about them so if you're still around after all that then you have a more likely chance of passing the vibe check

Hello Charlotte.

I wanted to say thank you for interacting with me on your blog. You've been in the fandom for so long, it feels kind of surreal we're mutuals ^^.

But more important, interacting with your posts opened a window out of my echo chamber and I ended up having civil discussions with poeple who were previously in my block list. It really made me reflect on how I have been dealing with fandom negativity as a whole (not only Loki).

I think it's easy to make blanket statements about the "other side", and vague call out posts about the "puritans" who want to take away our sweet enemies to lovers trope and sanitize any thought provoking world building in fiction. When we're scared of other poeple's opinions, we are very quick at clutching our pearls.

But the truth is, we don't have the same response to fiction, and some discussions made me go "WTF, did they watch an alternate timeline version of that show ????". Or simply realising we don't apply the same social role or moral values to fiction. And you know what ? That's okay. As long as you don't go and attack other poeple online. I guess all sides are a guilty of that, and I would lie if I said I have never made an unwanted commentary on a post, even formulated politely.

Hope the fandom won't put you under too much stress and things won't go brrr again when Thor 4 and Loki 2 come out.

I'm not gonna lie, I read this a couple of times searching for the but. "Thanks for interacting with me, it's been real, but imma have to unfollow/check out now for Reasons." So that was special, lmao.

No, but, in all seriousness, this is such a lovely message to receive, and I really appreciate it. I'm really glad that I was able to, in some small way, contribute to an atmosphere that fostered discussion and open-mindedness, as opposed to wank and hate. Tumblr very much can be an echo chamber (on both sides of an argument), and I wish that we could step outside of it a little more often because even if, ultimately, you don't agree with someone else's take, you can definitely come away from the conversation with a new perspective or understanding of where the other person is coming from. And also, sometimes it's just fun to lob ideas (and even 'disagreements') back and forth. One of the things I miss the most about being a student (ie an English major) is those classroom discussions, where people shared their responses/opinions to a story, and sometimes a bit of debate would be sparked but there was no animosity or ad hominem shenanigans going on, just analysis.

So, yeah. I'm also glad that you were able to talk to people that you had previously blocked; not to make it all about me but I've been blocked by a lot of "pro series" people I've never spoken to just due to (I'm assuming) my more critical takes as well as who my mutuals were, and sometimes I do feel like, yknow, I wish that person had engaged with me and maybe had a discussion with me instead of just dismissing me entirely. Each time it happens, it makes the fandom feel a bit narrower. But it is what it is. And that's just to say that, as someone who's been on the other side of the "block and move on" table, it's nice and encouraging to see those narrow margins widening again, in however small a way.

But yeah, overall I agree with you - not everyone is going to have the same response to fiction, and that's why it's so important to remember how subjective fiction is when we're engaging with it. Fiction isn't only subjective and, yes, some takes are probably more "correct" than others (for example, Person A may have read the Great Gatsby and come away from it thinking it's a love story, whereas Person B came away from it thinking it's about the lie of the American Dream, and one of those readings is wrong), but the lines are very blurry bc so much of fiction relies on figurative language, for example, or metaphors, or reading between the lines. Two people will read the exact same book (or watch the exact same show) and come away from it with wildly different interpretations, and it becomes harmful and causes wank when people forget that it's completely fine to have those different interpretations (with some caveats; for example, if Person A comes away from The Great Gatsby thinking it's a love story, and being able to back that up with how they interpreted the text, but then going on to claim that the story is immoral and harmful bc it frames Daisy and Gatsby's relationship as romantic and no one should read The Great Gatsby anymore, for example, that's ... a little less fine. But that's a whole other topic.). That being said, attacking people over it isn't the right way to go about addressing it, and it is very easy to get caught up in the "them vs us" mentality and throw out blanket statements and vagueposts and the like. I'm as guilty of it as anyone.

/babbling. But, yeah. I whole-heartedly agree with you and am really glad you've joined the fandom and I've been able to get to know you a bit. You get it. (Incidentally, I hope it's okay that I answer this publicly; I always get anons so I never know if people who send asks off anon do so bc they want a private answer. Please let me know if that's the case.)

End of the year love :)

Hello my loves! While I don't have any holiday specials planned for this end of the year I do want to talk and say some things.

To my amazing readers/followers:

When I started this account in August, I didn't expect it to grow so much, I knew going into it though that everything I did was for my readers, and it's still like that. I am so freaking thankful for all of you, from starting with the name Angie to ending with Coco, you've all stuck by me and continue to support my work and I am forever grateful for that. In this new year I wish to continue letting out new writings, new smau's, and even finish all the ones I have now. I know this year has been crazy, and it's been hard, but thanks to all of you I had a reason to smile and laugh, a reason to finally write and feel good about what I write, so thank you so much :) I love you all and I'm excited to see how this new year goes!

Can you tell me a little about Jinx please? I'm new to her and would like to know some stuff, like what relations does she have with four certain main characters?

(I would love to tell you about Jinx! :D I’ll list some highlights of her personality and little tidbits about her that have been revealed up to this point.)

(Jinx can be a bit… much, for some people. This is because she is incredibly confident and not afraid to show it. Bragging is a daily activity for her and she enjoys showing-off. Most of her introductions go, “Hey! My name’s Jinx… Ya know, Star Nomad, villain, soon to be number one… Anyway…” She is also incredibly adventurous and loves an adrenaline-rush. Jinx never turns down a challenge, even if it is one she made for herself. Such as not carrying food with her because she wants to survive on what she can find. There is no reason for this other than it being a challenge and her wanting to preserve her ego. Unfortunately, she is extremely reckless when looking for something exciting to do. Even though she is smart, she will do something that she knows is stupid, just because it is a nice challenge or adventure. But Jinx likes to have non-dangerous fun too. She goes to clubs or parties to dance and sing. Jinx LOVES karaoke, and is actually a very talented singer and dancer. She also LOVES puns and makes them constantly. Pranks are something else she enjoys, and her pranks never hurt anyone. However, they do annoy and irritate people… a lot. Jinx can also be a bit rough at times, cursing and getting into fights. But she only fights people when they don’t give her any other choice. Although she does crave a good fight occasionally… Despite her coarseness, Jinx cares deeply for her friends. She is kind to them and protective of them as well. She shows her affection with high fives, elbow nudges, and arm punches. Hugs and kisses are not really her thing (unless it is with Conquerer) and whenever she has close physical contact with someone, she blushes automatically.)

(Jinx doesn’t know exactly how long she has been alive, but she does know it is somewhere between two thousand and three thousand years. Her early childhood memories are so fuzzy that all she really knows is that she used to be a child, because she couldn’t have been automatically born an adult. She is constantly traveling and has been in many galaxies. The longest she has stayed on a planet was when she stayed on a sheep infested planet for ten years. This is because she met a boy named Felix and they became inseparable best friends. Felix wouldn’t leave his home planet, so Jinx stayed on it with him. One day the planet was attacked and destroyed by a villain. In the confusion, Jinx didn’t see if Felix made it off or not. She never saw him again and for years she was consumed by anger. After several years of nothing but being alone and constantly fighting whoever she met, Jinx decided to try and prevent other planets being ruined by villains. Of course, she believes that there is no way to stop the other villains unless you are a villain too. Sometimes to do some good, you have to be a villain. She conquers planets so other villains can’t control them. Plus, it is fun to mess with the other villains and get higher on the leaderboard. Now she is on the leaderboard, has friends, and even began a relationship. Things are definitely getting better.)

Wander:

She doesn’t mind Wander but hasn’t interacted enough with him to consider him a friend. However, he is a fun guy and she wouldn’t mind hanging out with him more because he definitely knows how to party. She does admire how he tries to stop the other villains, but she has little faith in his befriending tactic. Jinx loves music and actually enjoys Wander’s singing. The fact that he can play so many different instruments does impress her, she appreciates a talented musician. His constant hugging would definitely cause some problems.

Sylvia:

Jinx and Sylvia have a mutual dislike of each other. Neither of them really know the exact reason, they just don’t like each other at all. This results in Jinx mercilessly pranking her and Sylvia not trusting Jinx. Their feud is silly because of how much they have in common. They both enjoy a good fight and share a mutual love of karaoke. This love of karaoke has caused a few fights over the microphone when they both happen to be at the same party. Wander usually has to break up the fight before things escalate too much. If they spent time together without giving each other death glares or wrestling over a microphone, they might actually get along. Wander would really like this but so far they haven’t even tried.

Lord Hater:

Jinx isn’t scared of Lord Hater at all. She frequently refers to him as ‘bone-head’ and he has been hit with a water balloon of her on several occasions. He actually amuses her, because of his tendency to act like a child and the fact that his room resembles a messy teenager’s room. They have never interacted before. Jinx avoids being seen by him when she visits the Skullship, something she does frequently. Whenever she does prank him, she is usually snickering in the shadows while Hater screams at the air. Jinx literally has no respect for him.

Commander Peepers:

Jinx does respect him… But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t love to mess with him. In fact, he gets teased even more than Lord Hater does. She is constantly leaving hints of her visits to the Skullship where Peepers can find them, because he does not enjoy having her sneak in at all. They range from sticky notes with the words ‘Jinx was here’ to her actually going up to him to say hi and also say an eye pun. Despite this teasing, Jinx admires Peepers and knows that he is the real leader of the Hater empire. She is impressed by his intelligence and skill, but she definitely isn’t going to let him know that.
