I think smth that gets me about the way a lot of the fandom woobifies Vash is that like... so many of them erase his anger? They make him a soft and sweet doormat who never gets angry Ever, and that's just objectively not true, EVEN IF we're just talking about tristamp Vash. He's definitely softer spoken in tristamp than the other versions, but we still see him get angry!! We see him Yell!!! And these people ignore that!
Then when you consider 98 Vash and ESPECIALLY trimax Vash. Bro is genuinely furious like Any time he is dealing with #Situations. He gets angry. He yells. And he's genuinely tempted to kill people in anger (as we see with Monev).
It's just plain mischaracterization when people make him so soft and sweet and Never Angry. And we all know exactly why people characterize him like this.

i am a vassal and you are my lord. i have sworn to serve you and you have sworn to protect me. this is an expression of mutual care and support but also of mutual threat.
i am a good weapon, a strong weapon, and i am more than capable of any destruction you could ever wish to inflict. i am helpless but to obey any order you could ever wish to give; i swore an oath.
you could wield me against targets i don't want to harm for ends i don't want to pursue. but so too did you swear an oath, and so too are you helpless but to protect me. remember that a shield is meant to be moved into the path of an enemy sword and struck. it would be easy to find an enemy sword.
it was smarter for us to be allies than enemies. our vows are knives we hold against the other's throat, and still this bond keeps us safe from each other. what is trust if not giving someone the ability to destroy you in the confidence that they will not use it?
an attack dog can be a beloved companion. just remember that its teeth would know no difference between your enemy's flesh and yours.

Stares off into the distance. Garp believes in Luffy so much. Believe isn't even the right word, he knows. He knew Roger. He knows if there's anyone who's going to do it, it's Luffy. He knew it early on and it terrified him. Just as he knew Roger's sotry, he knows how this story ends. He's terrified. He loves his grandson. He knows who he works for. He knows the powers in charge. But Luffy kept proving the world wrong again and again and again and even he couldn't deny anymore that if there's anyone who can make it and survive, it's Luffy. He's so damn proud, he always has been. Luffy's going to be the one and he knows it to be a fact as given as the sea.

I wonder if you’d rather fix Toji or make him worse?
i have no interest in having a toxic relationship with toji im fixing that man. toji is like a stray cat in the sense that at first he comes and goes as he pleases and is slightly a nuisance and wants to take advantage of any kindness shown to him yet lashes out and runs away if you pet him the wrong way. eventually comes slinking back ready to cause problems again and is so surprised when the door is open and dinner is almost ready that he just ends up staying.
