For AUs... How about an AU where Keiji and Megumi both survive the First Trial? I'd like your take on that :)

you have opened pandora's box! i hope you're prepared to read a whole ass essay JSHDKABD

BUT SERIOUSLY TY THIS IS SO INTERESTING!! i saw your post on this already and commented on it then (in the tags ofc JGVKDDJDJ), bUT that was the meta of yours that inspired me to think that, maybe, keiji wouldn't be the way he is without that particular first trial and its outcome..? so i'll be operating under that assumption for these scenarios, so as not to feed a fed horse! (as peta would say,)

this does seem like quite the task, considering that it would require both conceptualizing megumi when we have minimal information about her, and reconceptualizing keiji to the keiji before the death game, when we also have minimal information on how he thinks in general... (and his characterization in this is all based on a theory to begin with, so it's not the most steady foundation lol)

of course, their first trial would need to be something else for this au… to keep things simple, it'd be best if it was neutral– neither him saving or not saving megumi, to neither restore nor forsake his faith in himself. megumi saving him would probably leave some positive impression of her on him too, so a trial which includes none of those things would be mosy fitting. but the trial itself isn't what's interesting, so i won't go into it further djdksbdk.

assuming they don't have a trial together, they'd meet each other the first time with everyone else-- i'm sure megumi would recognize keiji after the initial shock of how different he looks. and even if keiji tried to distance himself from her, she'd mention she knows keiji right away. i do think she'd have quite a bit of logic in her, but not an unsympathetic amount! however, she has been shown to throw morality to the wind when protecting keiji in the past (though asunaro may have been involved in the coverup in ways we don't yet know), so i think she'd do something similar here. she'd say she knows him and possibly that he's a police officer to solidify his standings amongst the other participants, assuming that keiji doesn't lie for himself first.

speaking of what keiji would do… so, i'm reconceptualizing him as more solemn and maybe a bit less guarded? however, it's also important to keep some level of his chill with his stupid grin and avoidance, because that constitutes a large part of how he copes with his trauma. a keiji wrestling between solemn genuineness and avoidant nonchalance, protector and sacrificer, logic and emotion! a mid-way between the two extremes of before the shooting and during the normal death game. definitely more stoic, though… less smiley but not brooding either. i think a more stoic, perhaps more reserved personality pre-death game would make a lot of sense for keiji, considering that he has absolutely no friends.

BUT ANYWAY!! back to what i was saying– i think megumi would lie in keiji's favour, because she wants to get him out of there alive (sympathetic megumi ftw!) but she may hold it over his head a bit, if only to keep him in line with her plans by means of guilt. it's worth it, though, if she can make up for what happened with the shooting– really, she couldn't believe it when she saw keiji! after he quit, i bet they'd barely seen each other since. the bags under his eyes make his face look so gaunt and haunted compared to how he was when he was a kid…

she still treats him like a kid, too. they slowly fall into the mentor-pupil relationship again they had before, by habit, like ancient cogs beginning to turn for the first time in years. but, this isn't all easygoing, of course.

i don't think megumi would apologise for the coverup. at least, not right away. she seemed very keen on ignoring it back when the shooting happened, so despite any guilt she'd have around the incident, she doesn't bring it up. keiji's somewhat content to keep it that way as well, considering that facing what he did would shatter him. but being with megumi is like facing the shooting… i'm sure being with her like that would bring up bad memories and relight slumbering resentment. he'd eventually want an apology, an explanation, something… how soon "eventually," would be, though, i'm not sure. especially considering that keiji wants to survive, and megumi will help him do that.

though, i think keiji's will to live in this scenario would be a little weaker, oddly enough. because when he kills megumi, that plunges him into the confirmation of himself as a sinner-- he has more to run from, and if he's killed two people now for the sake of his well-being (first because he feared for his life, second in hopes of being rid of his trauma), why not do it again? he's not going to dwell on it anyway, he's not going to look…

but keiji in this scenario is wrestling with himself. he'd still like to be a protector. maybe… it's still possible? maybe he's not damned just yet? maybe there's worth in sacrificing his life for the more vulnerable.

and that internal conflict could potentially clash harshly against megumi's goals of getting them out alive by any means necessary. she's not malicious, and she wouldn't try to get someone killed for the fuck of it, but when it comes down to it, she's just there for them.

i do think megumi would feel guilty for the children, though… gin and kanna are so young. sara is so bright-eyed and clever, it almost reminds her of what keiji was like back then… but she's willing to shoulder the guilt of murder for keiji this time, if only to finally atone for what she did to him and to save herself as well.

there's a few ways this could go though!! i have about four. 1) megumi is ruthlessly logical as keiji is in the actual game, and keiji goes along with it for the sake of his own survival. they end up being the sole survivors of the death game; keiji hates megumi and is entirely broken // 2) same as the last one except the rest of them thwart megumi and keiji's evil plans and maybe keiji and / or megumi die.. :v // 3) megumi is still ruthlessly logical BUT keiji's resentment of megumi and his morals push him away from her and he works against her to protect everyone // 4) megumi starts out logically, but noticing how keiji has changed as a result of his trauma and how cold he's become (she can see the same strains of her "forget morality, save yourself" logic in him and some of his decisions) she decides to let herself fall to emotion and either sacrifices herself for keiji or someone else.

and, some misc. things i didn't get to mention above....!!

i REALLY loved your idea of megumi being team mom. with the above in mind, it's exactly parallel to keiji's role in the normal death game! a should-be protector wracked by guilt who abuses their power regardless. and to think of keiji potentially taking on the role of the abuser while also possibly being one of the vulnerable underneath the force of that power… it's just really interesting!

depressing parallels aside though, i think megumi would be a nice sensible mom figure for this group of idiots sjfhddj. maybe a little blunt or initially distant, but ultimately caring.

as for her role in a wider sense, i think megumi would actually be more trustworthy than keiji is in the normal death game. although she has the disadvantage of sexism working against her, she's actually in a police outfit and lacks the shady appearance. i'm certain she could conduct herself in a way that would garner everyone's trust-- she wouldn't have any questions she needed to dodge like keiji in the main game, unless keiji brought up the shooting, but even then, that's much less severe than murder. there wouldn't be any creepy flirting with her either, not only because there's no questions to dodge in the first place, but i think she'd opt to use her authority to harshly shut down any opposition, like she did with keiji after the shooting. and when that fails, she'd fall back on logical and / or manipulative rebuttals. i also think a large part of why nao and reko specifically don't like keiji is because he's a man! a creepy man at that, and that feeling really is justified, but the point is that megumi's a woman, a respectable woman, so they wouldn't have the same qualms with her. she could also prove herself to be a more capable leader than sara, being older and still having a cool head. she'd very much come off as a reliable leader if she tried to, i think.

but back to happier things!! i think keiji would take on a less authoritative role if under megumi's wing. it's hard to say exactly how his role would change, considering that we don't know if keiji saw the percentage papers normally, and if he did in this au, would megumi as well and would they both try to cling onto sara for survival's sake? BUT i'm not going to get into that, i just want to say that i think it'd be neat if keiji took up an older brother position to in group! kind of the same as the normal death game, except he has less control over what the group does and is more on the same standings as the other participants. i think he'd get closer to being a genuine protector in this scenario, fail sooner at his attempts to avoid emotional attachments to the other participants, and i also think he'd do a lot less of the creepy flirting!! because really, the only reason he did that anyway was to dodge questions, and that'd be a lot less necessary if 1) he had dependable megumi vouching for him from the beginning, therefore making him less suspicious to the others // 2) megumi's death would no longer be a topic of concern cos it didn't happen! // 3) if someone attempted to dig up info about his past or something of the sort, something that could get in the way of the group's trust of him and therefore keiji and megumi's chances of survival, megumi could likely shut it down as she has a good reputation amongst the group. besides, the only one who would say shit like that is shin, and people don't trust him very much anyways sjfjsbfnd.

i think keiji and sara would potentially have a less manipulative and more wholesome friendship in this au ahhh ;<;

as much as a manipulative dick megumi is to keiji in this au, she gets softer when his hallucinations seem to be affecting him more, or when he has nightmares. (CAN YOU TELL I'M A SUCKER FOR FLAWED BUT GENUINE MENTORSHIPS YET)

i've started to become STAUNCHLY AGAINST the notion that keiji killed megumi maliciously or that he would kill megumi maliciously!! because logically, it'd probably be more beneficial to have such a trustworthy ally in the death game (maybe not trustworthy to him, but to everyone else) and emotionally, I JUST THINK THEY'D HAVE BEEN CLOSE BEFORE OKAY AND I DON'T LIKE THE IDEA THAT HE'D KILL HER 😭😭 (that's more my emotions than his LOL, but i think it's so important that megumi's murder was an inactive murder that keiji was unsure of to the moment it happened and beyond!! you could say his angst about killing megumi during the 2nd main game is more about him killing another person, regardless of whether or not it was megumi, BUT i like to think the fact that it was megumi SPECIFICALLY was significant to him.) so that's why throughout i haven't really entertained the idea of him trying to kill her or anything like that, especially considering the theory i'm weaving this au under, which dictates keiji would likely be a lil softer + more emotional :>

CONSIDER,,, in that scenario i posed where megumi sacrifices herself for someone / keiji: while she's dying or before her death, she hugs keiji and tells him she's sorry, it wasn't his fault. no one's ever told him this before because he's refused to talk about what happened with anyone after her dismissal of it. after she says that, though, it feels as though he's let out a breath he's been holding for years and some of the weight of the shooting is finally gone.

that's all i can think to say at the moment, SO… to sum things up– a tl;dr, if you will--

(i never actually watched this show so pls don't kill me if the casting choices are weird 😭😭)

i hope this wasn't too derivative of yours or too horribly self indulgent to read LOL. this wasn't nearly as thorough as i could've been, but it might've been a bit much to consider more branching paths ajdbsns. thank you for letting me rant about keiji and megumi, i was thinking about them earlier today so it's nice to be given a chance to ramble about them again!!

overall i dont think he'd make a big deal out of it or anything

he'd be really nice and respectful

would clown you if something went wrong and you started cursing in your language tho

omg he'd probably get the other members involved too

and they just won't stop even if it's already been WEEKS

and he'd seriously like, STUDY it

and you're just so proud of him

also it wouldn't be him if the first phrase he learned wasn't 'i love you' or 'can i get a kiss?'

so this boy now goes 'i love you so much' in your native language every time he sees you :(

let's say you've been dating for like 2 months

and you haven't really told your family yet

and one day you're on a videocall with one of your family members

and he slept over at your place

you're sitting in the living room after you've made breakfast

and you and that family member are on a videocall

and while that's going on sunghoon wakes up in your bedroom

and he's like ???

where r u

so he quickly does a bit of a morning routine

and goes to find you

and accidentally walks into the frame of your camera

so your family member just saw a random guy just emerge from your bedroom

and they're like ? who's that behind you

so you're like ??? there's noone behind me?? and you turn around and get startled since sunghoon is just standing by the door to your bedroom

he's like:🕴️

you fall off the couch and sunghoon's like "baby, are you okay???"

and he's trying to help you up

and your family member saw that mess unfold lol

after sunghoon checks up on you and the both of you sit down your family member asks a million questions and refuses to let sunghoon go out of frame for even a second

so sunghoon sits through the rest of the call next to you on the couch while you're answering all these questions your family member is asking

and he doesn't understand anything

after the call ends he probably walks back to your bedroom and falls asleep again since the encounter with your family member completely drained him of energy

since we know this boy's an introvert

and introverts have to recharge after being social and engaging with people

also the whole entire situation probably shook with him a lil

after he wakes up again he walks into the kitchen where you are and hugs you from behind

and then he softly asks "do you think you could maybe teach me a few words in your language?👉👈"

and of course you can't say no

who could say no to sunghoon???

so you help him learn some words

and the next time you facetime your family this boi is ready to impress them with his speaking skills😌

you and the other enhypen members were eating dinner together at their dorms

hee decided to make ramyeon and so the other members and you decided to help him and make some for yourselves

but sunoo was in their 'make-up room' doing his skincare routine (so you took it upon yourself to make one for him too)

after you set the noodles to cook your phone started going off

so jay and hee decided to compete and see who'd get to the phone first (since it was in the living room)

and so they ran to get it

knocking a lot of stuff over in the process

and scaring jake who went to the bathroom earlier

then jay (who was leading btw) tripped over a random bag on the floor and hee then tripped over him

when they got back to the kitchen they were a lil bruised up so you decided to take care of them first and just let the call go through

they both had some light bruises and jay somehow managed to also get a few scratches

so he was bleeding a bit

he was being extra

"pPalLi hElP jiGeUm riGht nOw okay???"

(i swear i love jay with all my heart im not trying to make him seem like he's annoying or anything)

you had to save him :')

so you got a few bandaids and patched them both up a bit

after that you went to the living room to call back to whoever was calling you in peace since everyone was busy in the kitchen

it was one of your childhood friends

you called them and they started nagging you for not picking up and scaring them

and right in that moment sunoo came out of the 'make-up room' and went into the living room where he left his bag when he got back from practice (the same bag that caused jay to trip lol)

and he heard you and your friend pretty much yelling at each other and bickering through the phone

and he got curious

so he walked up to you and was like

"who are you taking to?(✿^‿^)"

and the friend on the other line heard him and was like

"YOU HAVE A BOYFRIEND??!?!"

so for the next 30 minutes or so they made you explain everything to them

and they were extra nosy

so you were taking about how you met, what your relationship is like, his friends, what he's like,

and other things

while sunoo was sitting next to you

looking up at you with so much love and adoration in his eyes even though he couldn't understand a single word you said

after you and your friend said bye and hung up he was like

"you're so amazing o((*^▽^*))o"

i don't think he'd make you teach him any words

apart from 'i love you' or 'i'm cute' or smth

he's just really happy to have someone like you no matter how many languages you speak so he's just gonna adore you for a bit and then start teasing you like he usually does ;)))

so he'd demand you call everyday

and one day you were in your old bedroom, just laying on the bed and calling jungwon

when your parent/family member came into your room to inform you that dinner is ready or smth

and they saw you were calling someone and were like

who are you calling??? (since you didn't tell them about jungwon yet they couldn't really guess it was him or anything)

and well, you just didn't mention anything about having a boyfriend at all

you're there like uhhh can I tell them?? should I tell them??

and you do

which sparks a conversation about him

while you're still calling WITH him

so for like 15 minutes you're talking to that family member while jungwon just listens

and while that's happening his thought process is like..

'how did I get so lucky'

'i like that language'

'they sound so cool'

'oh shoot they said my name???'

'what's happening?'

'what are they walking about??'

'????'

'hurry up and talk to me now'

'hey >:('

'I'm the one you're calling :('

'but take your time i guess..'

'damn i miss them a lot'

and then you get back to him and he asks you to translate everything you said

so you do

and he's just

he might ask how to introduce yourself in your language or smth and will not ask you about anything ever again

until you find out he's been secretly learning your language

so that he can surprise you :(((

let's say it's right after enhypen had a comeback right

so they have a few days off before they start working on some new projects and stuff and ni-ki somehow managed to get sick

even though you, the members, and the staff were making sure he was taking care of himself

so you're just hanging around the dorms

helping the members around the house and checking up on ni-ki from time to time

at this specific moment you were cooking dinner with jay

so you kind of just left your phone with ni-ki in their bedroom (where he's resting)

and you got a call from one of your friends or smth (maybe like your roommate??)

so ni-ki called you to let you know

and he was like: „Y/NNNNNN!!!!"

you're obviously concerned like ??? what's wrong?? is everything okay??? is ni-ki okay??? my child why are you yelling so much???

and you bolt from the kitchen to the bedroom

and when you run through the door

you stub your toe on a dresser or something

and you start cursing in your language

and ni-ki hears it all

and even though you're in pain

he can't stop laughing

cause he's kinda evil >:)

then after he stops laughing at you he's like: are you okay? ://

and you are eventually

fortunately no toes were broken that day

then he asks you what you were saying

and if you could teach him all those words

so you're like should i? should i not? and you eventually do (bad idea lol)

let's just say you got a beating from all his hyungs after he wouldn't stop cursing in your language

but it did take them a while to find out what all those words ni-ki is saying mean

so this child would probably teach them these words for fun

and would tell them that it means like 'i love you' and 'have a great day' or smth

but he would always laugh whenever they said any of them

and it was somewhat suspicious

which resulted in jungwon searching it up

and nearly then he nearly beat you with a pan later

you should feel lucky you're alive lol

hee and jay probably found it funny tho

“Oh Ace,” he purred, those damn fucking gloves appearing in his hands out of nowhere (did he have them tucked in his pockets this entire time?). With deliberate motions, Sabo smoothed the leather over every finger, and flexed, like he was about to whip out one of his ryusoken moves. “Are you sure you just want me to jerk off in these?”

“Well if you've got any lube tucked away,” Ace shot back, “now's the time to pull it out, put on a good show.”

Sabo's consequent exhale was nowhere near the flippant-and-suave chuckle he had clearly been aiming for. Smugly, Ace counted a point in his own favor before dropping onto his back and finally—finally—undoing his pants. “Can I take these off?” Sabo finally requested with a hint of a whine. Ace suddenly thought of Marco, and how he might smirk at that tone, if he was here. “It's not working for me.”

“It's working fine for me,” Ace did his best to leer, thoroughly enjoying his own bare hand's capacity for friction. Sabo made another sound of protest, and Ace gave in with a snort. “Fine. Just one hand.”

“It's all I need.” The right glove disappeared as fast as it came, and Sabo arched high and satisfied into his own hand, now skin-to-skin. He obligingly let the gloved hand remain in play though, skimming teasingly up and down, grinning sharply at Ace's open mouth. “Hey,” he ordered, “go faster.”

“Anything you want,” was Ace's breathless answer. He didn't stop, even sped up, gripping hard and fast and chasing that finale. “You can have it from me.”

“I would chain you down,” Sabo snarled, practically a threat, only the blade was turned wholly inward toward himself. Like he was daring Ace to give him absolution. “I would bend you 'til you're ready to break, and keep you there for hours. I would make you beg for release, but deny you anyways. I would see your skin dark with my bruises, I would, I would—”

Ace's hands twisted hard against his binds, wanting genuinely to be free of them for the first time since they started this—and Sabo's reaction was instantaneous. A flex of haki into his fingers, and Sabo was slicing through the leather of his belt, letting Ace loose with an expression of terror.

And Ace dragged himself across the bed until he could cup Sabo's cheek in his clean palm and pull Sabo into a biting, filthy kiss. He was still hard as sin, and thrust forward into Sabo's hands to let him know—

“Anything,” he panted into Sabo's mouth, meaning it with every fiber of his being. He didn't mean for Sabo to cut open the belt; he had just wanted, so badly, to feel Sabo's touch. “You have me.”

Hii, do u have any tips for writing fics?? I’m so used to writing research reports, lab reports, and formal essays that creative writing has become something I really struggle with. I guess it’s having the freedom to write anything and not knowing how to make sure it’s not corny. I tried outlining a fic one time but it was so frustrating LOLOLOL. Anyways, I love your ateez fics. They are so cute and creative!!

hi !!!! im like rlly touched u asked me and i feel u actually that's why i started this blog; im a biomedical engineering major so as u can imagine i dont get to take much creativity with what i write because writing papers and reports and proposals are so formulaic and u gotta stick to the facts so that being said i actually tested out of all my college writing classes so all my writing knowledge is from ap english in hs lmao so take it w many grians of salt

the #1 thing i do when im feeling sort of unmotivated about a story or maybe like like dragging myself thru mud to write it is to just write the "fun" part first. to me the fun part is usually the climax or maybe the like the "wouldn't it be cute if..." moment that came to mind that inspired me to write a blurb in the first place! then usually once i sort of get the ball rolling on that my brain will help me out and keep the momentum going by thinking of maybe "oohh okay maybe this can happen next" or "oohh and what if this led up to it" or !! just stop there !! something ive learned from my mx writing blog which is like a year older than this one was that you don't owe anybody context especially for a blurb so maybe it really is just 3 sentences of a cute moment u thought of like its whatever ur the one writing it

now for longer fics im going to be honest jongho's first love is my first and only completed attempt at a multi stage coherent story. and that was fueled purely based on the fact that when i look at jongho he just gives off sort a really excited sort of innocence that i wanted to further explore and personify through the idea of him experiencing love for the first time but even then i really struggled w the last part because that's where my personal experience stopped and i had basically nothing to go off of because ive never been in love so i did have to kinda wait for ideas to come to me. for prince yunho i have posted 4 chapters but have all the way through chapter 15 drafted. and by drafted i mean it's like 3 sentences of the overall idea. again, the fic was inspired by the duality between yunho's on stage vs. off stage persona where if somebody was to watch an ateez performance for the first time they may find him very serious and maybe even intimidating but atiny would know that his off stage persona (the one he choses to create for us anyways) is very silly and happy-go-lucky and approachable, which is why prince yunho is seen as narameth's strong and stoic pride and joy but in reality he's sort of clumsy but means well. so i let that and his relationship w xenia who is an original character (OC) sort inspire stories or interactions that i force into a plot line. so for example i believe when i first started thinking abt a prince au for yunho i thought "wouldn't it be funny if the first scene started out painting him as this strong and serious man and then cut to him choking on food or something" and that sort of inspired the idea of him being nervous abt the speech and then xenia came out of that because he needed a complementary character imo since i knew he was gonna be kind of one dimensional and then his backstory with xenia inspired other ideas and then one day i was sad and wanted a hug so that inspired a piece of the plot line and so on. so basically: let an idea or even an aspect of somebody come to you and just write it down, let it inspire other ideas. and don't be afriad to completely start over. i wrote a whole chapter for prince yunho and deleted the whole thing because i hated where it was going and started back from scratch. sometimes you have to revisit things abt your characters and their relationships with others to get a new idea. there's a story in every person and every relationship you just have to find the clues

here's an example of what i mean by "write the good part first". this is typically what the very first draft of a blurb will look like for me

((( blah blah blah basically its raining and y/n is sad bc wooyoung broke her heart two weeks ago idk maybe go into it maybe not)))

y/n is all sad and feeling sorry for themselves on the couch theyre past crying but still feel pretty shitty plus it's storming and cold outside. great

there's a knock on their door ofc they have the cliche "who could that be moment" even tho they lowkey know. we literally all know

so yeah wooyoung's there soaked in rain eyes puffy y/n thinks he's been crying

-this would be the "fun part". i'll fix all that garbage up top later or maybe even change it completely idk yet-

"y/n? i - uh. hi"

he sheepishly rubbed the back of his neck while you crossed your arms over your chest, fighting the urge to close the door and walk away for good

"hi? really wooyoung? is that the best you can do?"

(((wooyoung does smth idk)))

"well i just -"

"you just what? showed up here in the rain after you broke my heart and didn't even bother to tell me why? this isn't some romance movie, asshole. you can't just come here late at night and expect to find me all sad and willing to take you back because i'm not. so say what you're gonna say so i can get back to my life"

your face was red hot and you trying very hard, probably too hard, to fight back tears. ((( idk talk some more abt y/n's emotions then what wooyoung is doing)))

"look, i made a mistake i-"

"oh my god! why did i know you were gonna do this. i just knew as soon as i saw you-"

"will you let me get a fucking word in!?"

well that was new. in the entire time you'd known him he had never raised his voice at you like that, your shock causing you to immediately close your mouth and fold your arms back into yourself (((make y/n seem more scared))) noticing your reaction, he lowered his voice back down and instictively reached for you, heartbroken at the way you jerked away from his touch

"please y/n, i'm sorry. i didn't mean to raise my voice it's just that i need to tell you that i regret what i did i regret breaking up with you so fucking much and you don't have to take me back i just need you to know how much you meant, no, mean to me. i still love you, a lot. there's not a day, an hour, a minute, or a single second that goes by that i'm not thinking of you"

"then why?"

your voice was small and wavering, your tears now dangerously close to spilling down your cheeks

"why what?"

"why did you break up with me like that, just all of a sudden"

he pushed his hands into his pockets and looked away

"because that morning i woke up before you and when i looked at you asleep next to me, i saw myself spending the rest of my life with you and it scared the shit out of me"

"why did it scare you?"

"because i just figured you didn't feel the same. i was selfish and wanted to save myself heartbreak down the line and so i told you i didn't wanna be with you anymore, but that was a mistake because it turns out i can't function with out you, i can't breathe without you i can't live without you, y/n. i shouldn't have let you go"

tears were now freely flowing down your face (((okay brain no work anymore y/n kisses him duh and then ofc they make up wooyoung prob says smth cheesy and y/n is like ur lucky i love you or smth ahaha the end)))

tl;dr -> don't be afraid to get messy. creative writing is not nearly as structured as academic/scientific writing. write whatever u want first it can even be the middle of a huge fight scene or some dialogue u think is funny. if ur stuck read what you have or maybe just take a break and let an idea come to you. a story doesnt have to come together til the very end so it can be as messy and out of order as u want until u wanna post it. also i would always use the third person omniscient point of view for a longer story like a chaptered fic as a default and only change if it would impact the plot in a negative way. this is where the narrator knows what every character is thinking/feeling and im p sure a teacher in middle school told me it was the easiest to write and follow

Here’s my reflection post for the year. Under a cut because I wrote this at 2am the other night and I rambled. A LOT.

On topic of the screens I picked. After really hating my screenshot progress last year, I feel like I made some big improvements! I actually never realized just how much I edited this year until now. (I had quite a bit of trouble picking just 10 screenshots!) Either way, this has become a bigger hobby than I’ve ever expected and it’s definitely helped me during all the wild stuff that happened this year. Certain things still feel surreal after the stress Irma put me through so I’m really hoping to get over that lol!

I’m feeling burnt out, like most of us right now. But I’m hoping to bounce back soon with 4.2 and some mischief. My FFXIV goal for 2018 is to be more involved with those who have reached out to me and to start making plans for things instead saying I will later and forgetting!! It’s time to actually run content I’ve said I’ve wanted to do! I still haven’t finished Coils, I haven’t run Shinryu EX, and actually go into Rabanastre. (I’ve done it a grand total of one time. *jazz hands*)

IM GONNA DO FRIEND SHOUT-OUTS NOW SO SORRY FOR GETTING SAPPY ILU GUYS

I want to thank the Turtles!! I really treasure the times we all manage to get together. The bard dance party was so hectic and fun. Setting the kitchen on fire with Naih was another top pick for a favorite screen. Yoshi-P visiting Adamantoise during E3 was the fastest I’ve ever raced to my PS4 in my entire life. ALSO UZNAIR… Huuuuuge shout-out to Naih for getting us together for that all the time. (And for everyone rooting for those mandragora vases! It seriously means a lot to me for all the attempts we put in.) I’ve got lots of maps hoarded, so if any of you are reading this, let’s start doing them again come 4.2!!

I especially want to thank Emily for agreeing to do a joke wedding with me! It’s honestly the highlight of this year’s shenanigans for me. We spent forever messing around and taking stupid screenshots and all the late nights were so absolutely worth it. Thanks for being an amazing friend and I love playing this game with you!! hhhh that also probably made very little sense but i dont care i love you so much and im very bad at expressing emotion (blame my virgo moon who hasn’t felt any feelings in over 18 years) but i still feel like always showering u in that sweet love and affection, despite the fact that im horrible with words and i have absolutely no consistency. I feel like it’s really rare to meet someone who literally changes your entire perception of the world but … damn here we are!! tlkaing to u is literally a part of my daily life its a part of who i am at this point :/

Anyways, friendships don’t really come naturally to me because I have a very weird perosnality where like. im simultaneously suffocating whilst also being very detached and it turns people off so quickly but..god we mesh so well i truly love you so much. i also tend to not write a lot whenever i make these posts bc im the kind of person who continously says how much i love you throughtout the convo (even thoguh ill ghost most ppl for a few days) so whenever i get around to writing these im like :// but what else do i say :// but this time!!! oooo i have so much to say i can never go into full loving hours with you bc you always turn things around and get me to start talking abotu myself and pretty soon we start talking about how i used to raise rocks as a kid instead of talking about how hot you are :/

so anyways firstly . those were just the intro pragaraphs im finally getting into my loving sejung essay :(( helloooo one of my favortie things about talking to you is how easily the conversation always flows ….us talking about shownus asshole and the questionable consumption of expired jello and orbeez at 3 am is most likely the more demonic things weve done while simultaenously being the more tame things…my head still aches when i remember that giagntic bruise i got from looking at that wonho+tentacles/changkyun+black hole sketch u made… god we somehow always go from topic to topic with absolutely no regard for cohesiveness and yet neither of us ever question it…we’ll spend hours discussing absolutely nothing …like that one night we stayed up for like three hours on rabbit talking about all the different mx stans and which member has the most stans internationally versus domestically and why….icons of developing complex sociocultural theories at 2am while occasionally mentioning “oh wow its late u should go to bed >:/” god its just that I always lose track of time whenever I talk to you…its like im so focused on that I Love Her mood that I don’t even realize its been 4 hours until I look down at my pile of unfinished homework and then back up at my laptop like. This was a Valid choice why would I pick ib math when I have a whole entire sejung talking to me. hhhh its just that talking to you comes so naturally and I always tell you all these quesiotnable things to which you always respond by first calling me a demon and then laughing about it and encouraging my stupidity. it’s also so so endearing that ill tell you about the dumb shit im doing and your first response is always to nag at me to be safe and take care of myself as if ill actually listen to you and clean a cut with alcohol, risking legitimate Pain… anyways sejung? queen of making me feel loved and noticed? honestly i've been following some of what they've said about you and they're reaching even harder than the people who wrote the call-out post?! its all just "wendy needed our help sometimes! she MADE us take care of her!" and smth about selling a plushie. even if you did do those things... do they realize how much of a false equivalency that is? after what some of them did to you i'm surprised you've been so calm!

yeah right lol. i suspect the “taking care of her” thing is an attempt to poke at sore spots--like anyone who follows this blog knows, i hate pity. i hate it so much i had to start prefacing my ventposts with ‘please don’t send me “im sorry”s’ and another really bad insecurity i have has to do w/ how almost ALL the men (and several others) i dated abused me--where they’d buy me things and drop their shit to take care of me and then use it later to guilt me/frame me as a burden. these people were my friends, of course, so they know this is an insecurity.

a lot of my relationship with one of them was them imposing their “help” on me and me being SUPER uncomfortable with it, i even had chatlogs where i outright said i was uncomfortable and didn’t want that kinda help. basically any time i had a problem and needed to like. talk it out w/ someone or scream into the void, this person tried to insert themselves in the middle of it, which made me feel manipulative (as if i was like... playing telephone, i guess? hey, tell this person to tell this person that... etc)

reading over the skype logs i saved, i was so fucking obviously uncomfortable. my sentences were short, closed off, every time this individual talked to me, you could tell i wanted a way out. but i was in /such/ a bad place and feeling /so/ trapped and /so/ scared of snapping, i just kind of dissociated thru it and quietly slinked into a corner and hoped it would stop. thankfully, it did.

a lot of it was also “we don’t like our friend being sad” turned up to 11. it went beyond ‘i wanna help!’ and straight into fuckin’ ‘stop crying, it’s getting annoying’ territory. i think thats where the ‘forced’ comes from--whoever the fuck was uncomfortable with me never being happy, probably took it as a threat to THEM knowing their mindset (if my friends are sad, it’s cause i’m not good enough, how DARE they not see how great i am and cheer up!) and felt trapped/angry until they ‘fixed’ me, lol. which is a fuckin oroborous, because if i had ever been allowed to just ‘ride out’ my sadness last year, half the arguments i had w/ people never woulda happened.

considering all of this, this point they’re using against me definitely seems like something i couldn’t win, lol. i didn’t want their help, but if i told them to fuck off, i’d be ‘impossible’ and ‘snappy’ and ‘aggressive.’ if i didn’t complain about it, then i’m ‘forcing people to take care of me.’

the plushie thing is even MORE ridic tbh. i was on p good terms w/ my ex (seriously, last time we saw each other we hugged shit out, talked about netflix/pokemon for like a half hour, and in general had a pretty ideal time...?) like last thing on our message history was fuckin birthday wishes? then one day i asked him if he could come get some stuff of his i had left, cause having my ex’s stuff around my house makes me sad. i waited for a month, tried to talk to his mom about it, and both of them ignored me, so i assumed something happened to sour our relationship on his end. after a month (and like... a warning) i started donating/selling his shit, and he’s convinced i sold one item of his in particular entirely to spite him.

that’s i think the most upsetting thing about this, like, all things considered, i should be angry at this dude... but i’m not, i mostly just hope shit goes ok for him. i apologized to him and ask what he woulda preferred i do, and he didn’t tell me, he just kinda. peaced out.

i legit hold no grudges against these ppl. i think more than one of them belongs in a prison, but whether or not that happens. doesn’t rly concern me, all i’m interested in is moving onto better things. decorating an apartment w/ my best friend. gettin married. the like.

like yeah it sucks & what my ex did to me rly scarred me. but i believe in karma, i’ve been thru this song and dance a million times, and things get REALLY BAD before they get better and you start seeing results. bad people always end up devouring themselves in the end. you don’t need to bring them to justice because the world will on its own. and no matter how much my instinct wants me to hate, to keep them in my heads, they really don’t belong there. i’d rather fill that space with people who have gone above and beyond to be kind to me, and there are way fucking more of those in my life than there are unkind people.
