since i cant draw right now: has anyone else ever thought in depth about Astarion fixing his grave stone? y'all ever think about whatever family he has left visiting that?
I'd like to think his parents still mourn him, love him and visit his empty grave. Maybe on his birthday, every year, to clean it up and speak to their beloved son.
I'd like to think that when his parents see this "vandalism" they are at first outraged, cursing the wretches of Baldur's Gate who would dare to desecrate the last loving thing they could do for their child.
Then they read the etching over and over again, their anger slowly fading, making way for confusion and disbelief. They see a familiarity in it; the way the numbers are carved so carefully, a curvature in the script that is so reminiscent of the hand written paper work his father would review. Of the poetry his mother fondly read.
And for a moment they would dare to hope that somewhere, out there in this vast beautiful and often cruel world, their little star is still shining bright.

It’s actually so funny that Jem canonically has no idea how eloquently he phrases things and is like Noo I’m not good with words 😪😓 and everyone around him is like. ??????? NO???

the thing is is that recently the system community, even the parts that dont use plural terminology, still show an alarming trend where newly recognized systems feel expected to label every single part of their system, keep track of every switch, use pluralkit all the time, and tag every post in a way that can be unhealthy and ultimately harmful. this is a disorder that is designed to be covert and unknown even to itself, yet by every single system blog under the sun listing every member with their role and pronouns and by the most popular youtubers making ten million meet my alter videos (for the enjoyment of a predominantly singlet audience as well), weve created a community that isnt actually... covert-friendly at all.
its okay to just like... exist. you dont need to know who is who all the time if its distressing. you dont need to log every switch when this is a set of disorders specifically about memory problems and dissociation. these may be common therapy tactics, and i would know because my own therapist has suggested them to me before, but that doesnt mean they will work for you because the very basis of being a system is that they were formed under the very specific traumas you went through as a child. and you especially dont need to share such private information on the internet. i know many systems (myself included) who have tried these methods and only ended up feeling more heavily dissociated, confused, distressed, and even have worse headaches as a result. we need to stop teaching people that microlabelling and monitoring every single part of your system is the only way to be a healthy system and start teaching people how to deal with their specific detrimental symptoms that interfere with their quality of life

I found a youtube channel that does videos about phobias which I find great since that's been one of my special interests for years, however I don't think people realise how AWFUL of an idea it is to put images that can trigger said phobia in the very thumbnail and throughout the entire video. Like. I get why people do this but for example imagine having astrophobia. You look up astrophobia and want to watch a video talking about it only to be completely unable to learn about your own phobia because It's plastered all over the video. If you didn't already get triggered by the thumbnail. At least if you're gonna do that, use an unrealistic/drawn image or something alluding to it (eg a teloscope). Not Real Life Space Images. I cannot underestimate how often this happens and how frustrating it is.

most unrealistic part of abijah fowlers design to me is the fact that they believe that man would ever have pearly whites. like historical lack of care for hygiene in europe aside him? you think he takes care of his hygiene? his teeth? you think mister “i don’t shower unless i have a gun held to me whole simultaneously being hog tied and waterboarded” would use crest whitening strips? please…

im gonna put my two cents in about izzy's death (even tho literally no one asked)
however you feel about izzy's death (im mad but u can feel however u want im not ur mum) we have to discuss what david jenkins is now saying about it. because i saw a spoiler for the ep and spent a two hour lecture convincing myself that if they do it right maybe it will make sense (they didnt but again, not the point rn).
but djenkins tweeting that "there is no show without izzy" and telling that interviewer "ghosts are real in the show" can mean one of two things.
either hes trying to make people feel better, and izzy is not coming back at all, which is simply getting peoples hopes up and will eventually let the fans down (again)
or izzy is going to come back. which is still not good because it means they "killed him" off for shock factor.
now when they did this with lucius it made sense. it was done for shock factor yes, but the shock of "holy shit look what ed has done. look what izzy and stede have pushed him to do. hes gone completely over the edge." and lucius was killed in a way that he could come back from. no one saw him die. there was not a funeral for him. he just, swam off.
we saw izzy die, so if they bring him back with magic or as a ghost or whatever, it was still done for shock, and made the ending to season two feel (imo) very similar to the ending of season one. the (possible) loss of a beloved character, except one made sense, and kept the fans on tenterhooks, and one just pissed people off. doing the same trick in both series feels like bad writing to me, like djenkins doesnt know how to tie up loose ends.
either way, how he is acting after izzy's death doesnt sit right with me and i dont wike it.

Do Kraw and Frankie still have feelings for each other?
I feel like calling them feelings sounds like romantic pining and Frankie definitely isn’t the romantic type. He’s more like that pesky ex Kraw had a couple one night stands while he was in a worse-for-wear state of mind.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Gen thinks he’s funny and cool and he teaches her to absolutely slaughter people in a game of cards so in that aspect he and Kraw ‘get along’. Kraw just gets nervous about Frankie blabbing about his younger years to Gen (he’s in his early 40s in human years).

#said it in the tags of the marjan tk carlos doodle I posted but. feeling very unsure about how i will be engaging w ls moving forward#still very much support most of the cast and I do enjoy this silly show#but it’s difficult coming to terms w the fact that their golden boy is a nationalist and zionist#just so unbelievably disappointing and depressing to see#so unless some personal views make some drastic corrections sometime soon im going to be engaging differently than before#i don’t know what that looks like yet. bc i know there are people who still deserve the love#but it’s frustrating to see. i wish it wasn’t the case but if he wants to make this bed he can lay in it and deal w the concequences#i also apologize for wording this kind of vaguely I just don’t know how to be eloquent about it#but for clarity: im genuinely nauseated by the shit ronen has been posting#and I fucking hope he finds his sense but shit dude.#this isn’t about boohoo an actor I liked has bad views#it’s about having a moral fucking backbone and a shred of dignity and critical thought before spreading genocidal propaganda#to your massive audience#so#anyways#i felt like it was important to at least address my position bc silence is not an option with shit like this#and also it’s been making me feel physically unwell since I first saw it and i think I needed to get it off my chest lol#viva palestine. now and forever. no caveats. no ifs ands or buts#iinryer talk#also sorry for making this an all tags post but this isn’t up for discussion. so.

tbh one thing that makes it a little hard for me to hate liliana or be as angry with her as a lot of other people are is that I fully feel like imogen would do the same thing in her position
like I've kinda had a feeling that's gotten stronger since episode 33-34 that imogen's gonna end up trying to go off on her own or run away from the group for the same reason liliana left her- because she feels she's a danger to the group and feels they'd be safer if they stay far the fuck away from her. hell, that's why I've called for a while that this is why liliana left.
imogen fears her powers so much. she fears how both these powers and the bad people out there who want to use them are putting her friends in danger. she said herself that the lightning scars that used to feel like proof that she was strong now feel like evidence that she's dangerous. imagining liliana feeling those same things, but without a party of other misfits on her side to help her through this and with a tiny little infant daughter being right in the center of that danger she feels she's bringing, i can understand her mindset here. and i can understand why she'd leave and want to stay away.
should she definitely be a little more helpful now and listen to reason that imogen is in danger, whether she's there or not? yea for sure
can I really blame her for feeling like she's a danger and that getting closer to imogen would make everything even worse? honestly no, and deep down, i don't think imogen can either, because I think if the circumstances had changed just a bit, she'd have run from the hells after that fight with otohan and not come back either

ppl really think that just bc barbie dolls have had like every job imaginable that means she’s an ultra feminist icon, and everyone who says otherwise is a pink-hating misogynist and a turf and ‘omg just let women be feminine!!!’ like it’s crazy bro i thought we kinda went over all this years ago… and let me be clear this isn’t me saying that barbie is an inherently patriarchal force of evil like i don’t hate barbie but like let’s be a little realistic here. the surgeon or judge barbie with heels and a full face of makeup is not as radical as mattel wants us to think it is.

the worst part abt watching movies w my parents is when they Dont Get It and so it falls on me to explain it to them, but when i use words that sound smarter than how i usually speak they give me that Look of vague confusion and judgement and it makes everything not fun anymore. this is also the reason for my various undiagnosed mental illnesses and also the fact that i am so heavily in the closet about being trans-

I'm sure the grape vine (being tagged incessantly) has already let you know but I'm a big fan of your literary analysis and how you take everything you analyze and place it into the narrative at large to make better sense of it all and truly understand character intent
I generally try to avoid checking all the billion places that that person tags me in, BUT I did stumble across that one post of theirs where you explained in the comment section that I at least acknowledge that Dazai is bungo stray dog’s source of exposition, and firstly— I am so, so honored that someone out there has read what I post and remembered that detail,, and secondly, you explained Dazai’s function as the story’s Exposition Man so much more eloquently than I ever could.
I’m honored to find that my blog is readable to someone who’s so much more knowledgeable of literary devices than me (or at least someone who’s so much more eloquent in explaining them than me). Seriously, sometimes I look back at old posts I made and go “what on earth was I trying to say here”. I guess that’s a pretty common experience— writers of all sorts feel like their old work is pretty bad or deal with some level of imposter syndrome.
anyway.
all in all, what I’m trying to say is I’m glad you enjoy my posts, and I’m honored and grateful that you understand so well what I’m trying to say in all of them.
thanks again for this ask, it really means a lot to me
