And just like those times, she leaves the bottle untouched until she hears the doors push open behind her, familiar footsteps dragging on the ground, and the loud thud of a cross pushed against the bar.

“What, you think I was waiting for you?”

After July, Meryl and Wolfwood form a habit of meeting in the same bar on the incident's anniversary, to commemorate the dead and to cope... the only way they know how.

Vash looks so pleased with himself, it would be utterly devastating for Meryl to refuse.

He’s been adamant that no one step foot into the space that acts as a kitchen—or what can pass for one. She thinks they were fortunate to even find this place, let alone any vacancies. At the end of the world, money still holds a value that many want to line their pockets with.

Fortunately for them, seeing as this place seldom gets visitors, and unfortunately—between all four of them—they don’t have any money, the owners were willing to trade for some repair services from the room. It’s been a tight fit, but it works. Not so much when it comes to sharing the bathroom, but there’s a method to the madness. Sometimes.

Meryl’s getting the table ready, placing down mismatched plates and cutlery on the surface, a circular cork disk at the centre so that Vash can place down what he’s been cooking, promising a delicious meal. He hadn’t told her what he planned on making them, but the aromas coming from the minute kitchen have been making her stomach rumbling ever so gently as the minutes press on.

She surveys her handiwork with a curt nod and is about to call in Wolfwood and Milly when Vash beckons her to stand next to him.

It’s more than a tight fit, but Meryl manages and the content smile she’d been sporting quickly turns into dismay as she looks down at the cast-iron dish that’s still hot on the stove.

Worms.

She can feel her stomach dropping and she wants to hang her head, desperately wanting to sigh out, not again, but thinks better of it—namely because she’s likely to bang her head on the stove if she does and cause Vash to fumble around like a chicken without its head.

“Hrrhggh…,” she groans softly and she can see the beaming smile on his face as he holds out a spoon for her to taste.

Meryl looks between the held out spoon and Vash, going back and forth, and she knows, with absolute certainty, that if she refuses it’ll break his heart. Not only would it break his heart, but he will continue to hold her refusal over her head every chance he can get. She’ll be forever reminded of her callousness and her coldness at not accepting his labours of love.

Steeling herself, Meryl says a silent prayer and leans forward, opening her mouth to accept the offering—and the first taste of his grilled worm chow mein. There are tears smarting her eyes as she chews, doing her best to not think about what’s inside her mouth and chews hastily, not even getting the chance to taste the…variety of spices and herbs he used—which weren’t many.

“‘S good,” she says with a bit more effort than is necessary, but inside she’s crying and trying to find a way to skip out on tonight’s supper. Maybe she can pawn off her portion to Milly and go to bed hungry.

Maybe Wolfwood will have hers. He’ll eat anything.

A plan is forming just as the other two make their way inside and Meryl takes this as her chance to put as much distance between herself and the cooked worms, but not without giving another smile to Vash as she gestures with her head to him, a quiet Are you coming?

WHO IS Y/N L/N? by Louise Kelly

April 29th 2017.

By now, everyone and their mother has heard the name Y/n L/n. With the awards and the acclaims, it's a surprise to find that she isn't an old Hollywood legend, but instead an 19 year old girl with raw, unfiltered talent.

Although, as brilliant as L/n's work is, many fans and followers have noticed a distinct pattern in her projects: she releases something legendary (i.e. an Academy Award for directing after her debut, topping charts with her first album, etc.) and ghosts all media for six months minimum before returning with another knockout. This reputation has lead many tabloids and reporters to refer to her as "Star" an abbreviated version of what was "The Shooting Star" in reference to the fleeting moments of brightness of her career.

Many people over the years have speculated that this nature has been brought on by a lack of media privacy, as paparazzi and obsessive fans alike tracked her down and documented what was near to her every move in the two years before she began her complete media lockdown—outside of promotions, of course.

Due to this private nature of hers, there's a lot of room for speculation when it comes to her life—something news outlets and tabloids such as enews and entertainment weekly have taken advantage of too many times to count over the years by starting rumors and spreading gossip through clickbaited headlines.

In fact, most things people have come to know for certain about the young woman are through speeches she makes or posts from her friends and family's accounts.

In her 2013 Oscar acceptance speech, she went out of her way to thank her mother and brothers, saying they were the only reason she was standing there and their support meant more than any award ever could. Since then, she's never skipped a chance to praise and credit them for her success.

She has also spoken very fondly of her boyfriend and racing car driver, Charles Leclerc, with whom she's been dating for little over three years and grew up living beside. While she does not credit him by name in her speeches, she often dedicates her awards to "her love". Because of this, most information on the pair's relationship has come through both party's instagram accounts, and the accounts of their friends.

Y/n's closest friend, Amalie Billard, has been the public's window into the life of L/n, sharing sweet and funny moments through Instagram stories and posts. Amalie herself is a photographer who grew up with Y/n and has worked closely with her since an internship and ELLE magazine two years ago. Y/n has been the subject of a vast majority of Billard's work and has said that she "feels more comfortable around Amalie than she has with anyone else in the industry and treasures that bond greatly."

Gossip and drama aside, Y/n has build up an impressive reputation in the world's of cinema and music. She has won a total of 5 Academy Awards; Best Leading Actress (2012), Best Supporting actress (2014), Best Leading Actress (2016), Best Director (2017), Best Supporting Actress (2017). And has one 4 Grammys for her music; Pop Solo Performance (2014), Pop Vocal Album (2014), New Artist (2014), Best Alternative Music Album (2017).

She's been praised by some of Hollywood's greatest over the years for both her work ethic and work itself. "She's an incredibly talented young woman who has the sort of grace you'd see in Old Hollywood and the humour you wish you'd see in everyone now. She's truly a great role model for all—young and old." Said Meryl Streep in an interview for "Call for me", a film that she and Y/n starred in in 2015.

I saw the previous ask and it made me want to say that I also love how you depict polygun as trans.

I'm a trans guy but I haven't transitioned at all, and I don't know if I will. So it makes me very happy to see Vash looking slightly more androgynous (even if he's further along in transition than me).

With Wolfwood, I love how he's hairy and beefy and everything. Trans men deserve to be depicted that way too! It's inspiring. Always a delight to see.

I love how Meryl is a smaller, petite trans woman while Milly is tall and buff and slightly hairy. But they are both just as much of women. There's affection in how they're drawn. Love them so much.

It just makes me happy to see you depicting a small range of how different people can all be trans. :] <3 That aside, you have cozy and warm lineart. Your art style feels homey. Sorry for the ramble in your inbox.

Vash, the god of Peace

Based on both the goddesses Persephone and Eirene

He, Tesla and Nai were born from the stars and were raised by the goddess of wisdom Rem, when they descended upon Mt. Olympus.

During the Trojan war he and Tesla were both kidnapped by a group of Trojan soldiers. Tesla later died at the hands of these soldiers while Vash had lost his left arm and nearly joined his sister in an early grave because of the torture they put him through before Nai found him.

His lost arm had gotten replaced by a metal one that Brad (Hephaistos) had built.

While Nai grew to resent mortals for what they did to his siblings, Vash learnt to move on and embrace humanity in its fullest, the good and the bad. "

Because Vash failed to see the warning signs of Nai's growing paranoia, he did not see it coming when Nai locked him up inside the "golden cage", a hidden room in the heart of Mt. Olympus.

Spent over 800 years locked away inside the golden cage with only Nai being able to visit him.

Eventually managed to escape with the help of Meryl (Artemis) and Roberto (A Satyr) and flee to a small sanctuary dedicated to him and Nai in the plain of Nysa.

There he meets the sanctuary's only priest, Wolfwood and slowly begins to realise just how much Nai has corrupted the cult over the past 8 centuries with its followers only seeing peace as either a direct result or mere by-product of war.

pretends to be a mortal temple servant named Eriks while hiding in the sanctuary of Nysa.

spends his day either helping Wolfwood in the temple or helping the people in the town near the sanctuary.

claims his healing powers were a gift he recieved from the gods as a cover-up

OKAYY time to yap abt my au!!

This post is gonna be about Vash, I’ll make other posts about the other ones when I flesh them out a bit more!

Lore!!

Vash lives in one of the few seas of gunsmoke, with his brother, in a cave. On the surface, people know him as "the humanoid monstrosity", since they see him as a sea monster, but he’s just a friendly merman trying his best to make a friend.

He also likes to help people who are about to drown or something similar, but it just ends up with people being scared off by him, most of the time at least. One of those times cost him his arm, which was cut off by his brother’s knife-sharp tentacles, which caused the person he caught to drown.

He got a prosthetic arm from Wolfwood and Meryl, both of them made it with sea glass.

Fun facts!!

He collects random objects from the surface, things like jewelry, keys, toys, etc.

His sclera is yellow and his pupils are cyan, these glow in the dark.

The merman loves to give things he can’t keep in his cave, he even gave a heart-shaped seashell to Wolfwood once, something like this!!

Vash decorated his cave with his favorite plants (mostly the ones that remind him of Rem) and hid his objects from the surface from Knives in his “room” (PS: He tried to decorate it with plants from the surface but they couldn’t survive in there.)

Characteristics!!

He’s about 6 feet (183cm) and weights about some 170 pounds (77kg)

He has fangs, can grow feathers when he feels any strong emotion and he can purr.

And if he’s threatened or heavily damaged, he turns into creature Vash‼️

He can’t talk properly when he’s in this form, and also swims incredibly fast. In this form, he’s about 5.6 feet (173cm) and weighs about 175 pounds (79kg)

And last but not least, a chart!!

he's such a sweetheart he offers to go get more supplies because your cramps are really bad he gets to the store and is very overwhelmed by the range of options he'd just text you to ask which ones you preferred to make sure he gets the right ones he also picks up your favorite dinner while he's out because at least it'll be a nice surprise

Wolfwood

this man runs an orphanage, so he knows what's up you ask him to grab some more when he's running errands he checks with you before he leaves to make sure he gets the right brand, size, etc. he's gonna maybe give you a little funny remark but he's back later that day with the supplies and some of your favorite snacks and he'll give you a uterine massage if your cramps are particularly bad also, he's the world's best heating pad because he runs so warm

Vash

poor, sweet Vash is trying his best he's never really had a partner before and wants to make sure he does everything right so he's doing a store run and notices pads and tampons are on the list doesn't look at the list before he goes and just panics nearly has a breakdown in the aisle because he doesn't know which ones to get he's too nervous to ask you or the employees he ends up getting one of each that he can find because he can't get it wrong if he gets all of them, right

Knives

he's gonna complain like, he's gonna say some crap about how humans are such a pain and a nuisance and he'll make someone else do it he will, however, make sure there's someone keeping an eye on it in future so you never have to ask again but he won't ever admit to it

Roberto

look me in the eye and tell me this man doesn't have this on lock I dare you because you'll be dead wrong this man has been around the block no hesitation just asks which ones you want like it's no big deal to him it's just another part of life

Legato

he's just confused why you're asking him to do it he's not grossed out or upset, just confused like, anybody could go do that and he's got things to do that only he can do anyway, he makes sure it gets done though he just has one of the lower level grunts do it with the threat of an excruciating death if they mess it up

Milly

you never have to ask her to pick up supplies because she's already on top of it like, she knows when anything is running low at home what makes you think she'd be anything less growing up with a big family means making sure there's plenty of household supplies you're actually more likely to have the issue of there not being enough space she always accidentally ends up buying too much

Meryl

she's the one who's gonna forget to supplies honestly she's too busy focusing on everything else to check and so she's doing emergency runs to get something to tide y'all over until she can get to the store to actually get the ones y'all want spoiler: she forgets and the cycle repeats

SO. ON THE TOPIC OF LOSS OF AUTONOMY. i am having the analysis brainworms now i hope u dont mind me going off in ur inbox. hi :]

there is something to be said about how vash's name is used against him constantly. that loss of who he even is as a person. i think about this so much. his name, his very identity is taken away from him. just the mere mention of the name vash the stampede is enough to send an ENTIRE town into a panic. it happens so much and its DEVASTATING to me. hes been labelled a monster across the entire world, and people who stick by his side after hearing his name are few and far between. theres been so much fear tacked onto his name, so much so that OTHER outlaws have used it on multiple occasions to make themselves more powerful. using his name to commit crimes that the real vash would be horrified to even consider. power in names and all that.

vash even. leans into it himself at a certain point. in order to protect the people of augusta he runs through the city shooting bullets into the air and solidifying his image of a deranged killer in the pursuit of. saving everyone. the only way theyll listen to him is if they think hes going to kill them all. if theyre afraid of him. theres also the part in hang fire (? i think its that one) where hes walking through the halls of the sand steamer singing about killing people in order to scare the bandits into not hurting the hostages.

and then you think about. eriks. how lina and her grandma took him in and accepted them as part of his family. how the town around them accepted him only because they had no idea who he actually was. he was a good guy... up until they learned he was vash. and then we get the conversation between the two men in the bar talking about how they should chase him out of town, despite living around him and knowinf him and seeing how good he is for . two years.

but lina and her grandma still accept him after that. theyre one of the only people besides milly/meryl/wolfwood who genuinely love and care abt him despite his name. they still want to keep him safe, grandma asks wolfwood to protect him and keep him out of trouble, even after learning hes the legendary outlaw gunman. because shes seen the true vash ans doesnt let the name scare her.

aughhh im rambling now i probably should have made this into my own post but this makes me SO fuckign crazy dude . give me ur thoughts id love to hear them.

I. YEAH. YEAH. OH MY GOD. Like. nothing is his own anymore. His name is used against him, his face is plastered on wanted posters. There is nothing about himself that he can truly call his. Not even his Plant powers! Because those are used against him time and time again by Knives in EVERY ADAPTATION!!!!

Like. Vash is no longer the name of a kid who once argued with his brother and laughed with his mother and celebrated his birthday and rolled around in grassy fields. It's the name of an outlaw who will kill at the drop of a hat. It's the name of an out-of-control human natural disaster who's leveled cities. If he doesn't even have his name, then what part of himself is really himself anymore?

AND THAT'S WHY I LOVE ERIKS! He finally has something of his own! He's got a name that attached to no one, and a life where he can settle down and stay out of the public eye. He finally has something that is truly his. And no one lets him keep that except for Lina and her grandma.

This guy really has no control over his own life doesn't he!!! He's a passive character in the story of his own life!!! He has nothing of his own, no identity past "humanoid typhoon" because everything about his identity has been stripped from him and morphed into something he's not. He has no say in anything in his life, not even who he is as a person, AND IT DRIVES ME BONKERS N FUCKING YONKERS!!!!

Hi friends! I’m finally opening requests for prompts!

I’ll be doing fluff and angst for now, I’ll be writing for:

Jujutsu Kaisen: Yuuji/Sukuna, Megumi, Nobara, Toge, Maki, Yuuta, Gojo & Nanami

If i didn’t add a certain character to this list it’s either bc i’m not familiar enough with their characters (ex. jjk’s Toji // Tristamp’s Legato) or I just feel like i can’t quite grasp their personalities in my writing (ex. Om’s Raphael)

I’m honestly much more comfortable writing canonverse shots but if you want your request to take place in an specific au i’ll try to follow along ~

Asks that I will never really answer. My apologies; life gets busy and I get distracted.

I'm dropping these here today, so I can clear out some of the asks from my inbox. Apologies for some of these going back to when Trigun Stampede was still airing. >_< If I don't have a clear and concise answer, I'll let things sit in the inbox but they occasionally do fall off my radar.

Uuummm sorry Anon, I meant to give this more of a response but as I got angrier at Stampede, I just couldn't bring myself to give you a well thought out reply. My overall vibes for the Christian themes that were missing in Stampede had to do how they kept a lot of the surface content, images/style/design from the original but with the sci-fi emphasis removed the weird esoteric Christian stuff and made it look that way. Vash was more willing to engage with others in the original manga/'98 anime based on what Rem taught him. Yet, we never get why he does what he does in Stampede. By changing Wolfwood from being a traveling preacher where Vash lambasts him with 'thou shall not kill' the nuance of his character's moral conflict is lost. He's a trained killer for a quasi-religious organization that might be using a Zia in a really not cool way. We also do not see him act in a self-sacrificing way, which he does from the get go in the original. The angelic body horror was gone, replaced by a sci-fi reading of plants and the concept of plant worship was missing in there as well. There is a lot of internal dialogue that many of the characters pose through the anime and manga and its just gone from Stampede and it revolves around forgiveness, violence, and justice.

For me, the complete re-interpretation of the world and loss of the moral conflict that all characters show hurt the Christian (and Buddhist) themes that underpinned the original. It really came down to how the characters acted and talked. There is no point to a gunslinger who is almost completely passive when one who is active but uses a non-lethal method based on principle. There is a chapter where Vash gets taunted by some enemy for how bad his target practice is until they determine he was that accurate at shooting someone but not killing them. The best way to summarize is that they took some of the aesthetics of the original and didn't follow through on how the characters acted. There is so much contemplation in the original and that is missing in the remake.

Let's just make this a list: 1.) Leo would actually have a real girlfriend. I already have issues with White, I think adding her in as a quasi-girlfriend was a disservice to Leo's character. 2.) Zapp would be white. Less of a manwhore perhaps? 3.) Chain would be cute as opposed to cold and distant. No drinking assholes under the table and vomiting in her bathroom later. See Meryl Stryfe.

4.) K.K. would have boobs, and somehow be more sexy than an awkward and doting mother. See Rem and Luida. 5.) Steven's scar would be smaller or missing to make him a real lady killer. Either they'd lean way too far into Steven's shady side or they'd clean it up completely. Like he'd wink at women as opposed to sleeping with them to get intel. Be Klaus #1 fan! But like all the time, making himself to work too much. His hangry side would either be missing or played up for laughs. 6.) Zed would be dropped because he's the non-human team member. What's the point of having him? 7.) Luciana Estevez would only appear in her super sexy doctor form not her silly clone or normal form.

8.) They would try to create lore and filler to explain things that you have to assume are just how things work. Or they would info dump as opposed to leaving it up to you to worry about things and figure it out from the context. 9.) The entire cast gets aged down, because having a bunch of 30+ cast members who don't have all their shit together is too embarrassing aka very realistic. e.g. K.K. has a house husband (not a good mother like Rem and Luida in Stampede), Steven will die single and alone, Daniel will die single and alone, Patrick carries a torch for Guinness but is single, Abrams is a walking disaster.

10.) Character designs which are super unique and fun, especially in the manga all get 'isekai treatment' were they look homogeneous. The whole point of the diversity of the cast is lost. Women are short and cute, men are tall and slender or tall and buff. No other options.

11.) They attempt to rationalize the 13 Kings and give deep meaning behind their behaviors. Which maybe we will get that someday, but part of the fun is how fucking chaotic they are.

12.) Hellsalem's Lot is an empty city. Somehow, the city lacks people on the streets and we don't get the rooftop betting scene between the giant stomping creature and super-sized Riel. Sex, drugs, gambling are minimized in their version.

13.) The entire Prosfair story line is cut because it is so fucking bizarre and awesome; they wouldn't understand the point of the entire game.

14.) The OST is bad.
