I always respond because it seems like the polite thing to do especially now that people don't leave as many comments as they used to back the 00's on ff.net

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

You Can't Stay Blind - (SuperWho (SPN/Doctor Who)) - the Eleventh Doctor runs into Crowley who's wearing a too familiar face

In the Pasture of a Vale (Supernatural) - Dean runs into Adam and Ben five years post-season 5 (written back in 2010)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

I think I always end up with a kind of mixed emotion ending like Best Laid Plans or Our Soulmate Academia, so it's difficult to remember the truly happy ones. The most recent happy ending would be The Mystery in the Fog (ACD!Holmes) where Holmes and Watson end up at the same secret wedding of an underground queer club they're both members of unbeknownst to each other and have some revelations

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Sometimes I do. The most infamous incident was the time I wrote a fic speculating on who Castiel's vessel might have been before I got to Jimmy's episode in my binge watch back in the day. The reviewer went into gruesome detail on how I was going to burn in Hell for my fic. It was unreal. I just deleted the fic and then went on to write several more SPN fics as you do.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I've written smut a handful of times for fics and more often than that for RP since that's part of the RP culture I fell into in university. Most of my smut fics have been orphaned now, but the one that remains is Swallow My Fang at Night Island (Interview with the Vampire (AMC)) I approach smut like I approach fight scenes so I can keep track of the flow of action. I keep my own personal kinks out of it and try to write a scene I think the audience would look for instead

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I've written 15 crossovers. I enjoy them tbh. In terms of plot, the craziest one I wrote was Distortion (BBC Sherlock/My Life in Film) where Jones was hired to play Moriarty and things get way too real. In terms of titles crossed over, the craziest one is probably The Hokage (Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle/Naruto)

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes, ages ago. It's why I'm my own beta reader or Kitty Britpicks me because I can trust her

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I had some requests but I've never been alerted to the final products

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

My brother and I regularly cowrote fics together when I was in high school and he was in middle school. If you ever read a Trigun script-based crack fic in the 00's with the phrase "Love and peace! Doves and geese! Change the world!" or "Another carnival ride with cotton candy," that was us.

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

I don't think I actually have one because I'm a multi-shipper and I have so many favorites. That said, it might be inuyasha/Kagome since I always had an Inuyasha fic in rotation (usually more than one though) from 2001 - 2007 or so. Unfortunately they've all been lost to time. According to my AO3 relationship toggle in the filters sidebar, it's Destiel (7) and Devil's Minion (7)

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have a BnHA fic from before we learned what Hagukure's powers were where she sent Class-A and Aizawa back in time to Yagi's high school years to do a kind of Tenchi in Love (1996) type of plot where they had to stop a time traveler from murdering Yagi. I wrote quite a bit of it but it stalled on me when Midoriy and Nana interacted and I wasn't completely sure how to get that to work

16. What are your writing strengths?

The most consistent thing I get complimented on are my fight sequences, which is why it's sad I lost all my IY fics because I wrote so many fights for them

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

My memory is a sieve and some of the holes are too big

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've done it before because I was a weeb and it was a trend in the 00's. Not sure I'd do it again now that I've matured past that.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Technically fairytales. I retold Cinderella when I was so little my mom had to write it down for me because I couldn't write yet. I drew pictures to go with the narration

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

The Land Across the Sea (Black Clover/Boruto) - Boruto ride a tsunami to Clover Kingdom and the knights have to take him back home, which is also Yami's homeland.

I got the idea for this fic when a friend and I were talking about what we'd want the Black Clover movie to be about when it was first announced. Then I took my idea of Yami getting to return to his homeland and made it a crossover because I like the idea of Yami and Naruto knowing each other from back in the day.

idea; muse a see their teacher (muse b) being touched on the bus/train and records it as black mail to make muse b their pet.

that's just the basic idea! we can plot more to get more story and drama (something like this does happen and i explain more of how the story goes) and etc. other than the dub/con, i'd like to try and play around with watersports (to a limit, i can tell you more). i also don't mind adding in other taboo's/kinks like incest or a/b/o & other things.

The Pop Point: Your performance in Good Time was unanimously welcomed. What is funny is that people seems to realize that you are a good actor at every new film

...Robert Pattinson: I wonder how much people think I'm a bad actor to be so surprised by each of my films. Do you think that in ten years they will still say: "Woa, he's not that bad!"? (He bursts into laughter.) But that's pretty good, isn't it? It's great to be able to surprise people, it gives you a lot of energy. It puts pressure on me in a positive way.

Is it possible for an actor to get rid of the audience's prejudices? Of the representation it has about you?

RP: I always thought that we had to accept the fact that people who saw you in a role will have a certain idea about you, some expectations. But I think we have more control than we think. It just takes time and work. It's clear that after five movies in the same vampire role, we can't expect that people won't identify him to me. But it would be the same for any role.

People may underestimate you because of Twilight, but it seems that you yourself tend to think you are bad!

Absolutely. (Laughs) I don't know why. For example, for this film, even if I love it and it was selected in Cannes, my brain could't help but whispers to me: "It's going to be a disaster, maybe this film is shitty". And, as I arrived in Cannes, I was in a terrible mood, ready to fight with everybody. The day before the public screening, I felt pathetic and I was so angry that I was arguing about nothing with people. I don't know why this happens to me, it's a strange kind of stress.

Lots of actors avoid reading the reviews about them so as not to feel depressed. You, on the contrary, you devour them ...

Yes, and when they are good, I look for the bad ones! (Laughs.) Some reviews are really interesting: they don't just give an opinion, they are well written and make you think. Besides, I stole quotes from critics several times to bring them out in interviews! (Laughter.)

Today, these reviews say you are at your best, that Good Time is your best role so far. Is it your feeling too?

I don't know. It's such a strange industry because it totally depends on what others do. We can only be good to the extent of the opportunities we are offered. With each film, I expect it to be my last one.

You hate doing auditions ...

I'm awful during audition. I really can't do auditions. Before Twilight, I had 10,000 auditions and I only got 9 jobs. I even lost my agent several times because I was so bad. It's an anxiety problem. And then I don't like the balance of power in these auditions: 20 people in front of you who judge you, it's very humiliating, how not feel terribly bad?

Fortunately, today you no longer need this: almost all the directors would be delighted to have you in one of their films, right? Your name is synonym of fame, fans ...

If someone hires me thinking that I'm going to bring an audience with me, it makes me nervous. I can't guarantee it, nobody can. But I think the people who hire me no longer think about it, so they can't be disappointed in the end! I should do romantic movies again so that could work! (Laughter.)

You should do a romantic comedy!

I love rom-coms! The other day, I was watching 'You got a mail', this movie is really great, but nobody writes any more like that ...

Do you get a lot of offer? How do you choose your projects?

I'm very pro-active. You go crazy if you just wait for something to happen. I try to find directors or screenwriters who are not known too much yet. I set up my Twitter account to follow many journalists specialized in cinema and I literally spend my days reading reviews and watching movies. For the Safdie brothers, I came across the trailer of one of their films. I asked my agent if he knew them, but apparently no one had ever heard of them. So I rushed to my phone to ask them for a role, whatever it was!

Are there directors with whom you still dream to work with?

It's strange because there are a lot of French directors who interest me. I would really like to work with Maïwenn, I think her last film incredible. And Maren Ade! Toni Erdmann is so great. I would like to play in a comedy too ...

It's so uncommon that a "Hollywood" actor is so attract by European cinema!

It's just that I get bored very easily. I don't like to watch predictable movies. I find it crazy that many actors never watch movies. How can you enjoy being an actor and not enjoy movies? I can honestly say that's the only thing that interests me!

Lauri Thomson

Don’ts: I’m not going to RP anything that happened before Lauri became 18. You can ask him about it, he might talk about what happened and give some vague details, but RP-ing it is a no-no!

Verse: Lauri lives on Earth.

Good to know: As a young teenager Lauri was abducted and physically, mentally and sexually abused. At the age of 17 he finally managed to escape and the world and his parents welcomed him back.

Yet, he was damaged and no amount of therapy could keep him from derailing. The only thing that gives him a shred of peace is painting.

Lauri doesn’t have a job, but he’s very apt at making deals with the media which gains him money. But because he’s involved with the media so much (his face has been on every news-channel and what not after his return, and interviews etc. in the years to follow) he fears everybody will recognize him within an instant.

The Grandmaster

Good to know: The Grandmaster is an Elder of the Universe and his obsession is playing games, preferably on cosmic scale. He is a nasty and vile creature with unlimited powers that surpass even those of the Gods. (And seriously, when I say he’s nasty and evil, I mean it.) For those who are familiar with Marvel; this Grandmaster is a mix between MCU and 616.

Good to know: Agnar is the Captain of the Honor Guard of Asgard. The Honor Guard is a special type of guards whose sole purpose is to protect the occupant of Asgard’s throne and their family.

Faceclaim: Rupert Penry-Jones as Mr. Quinlan from the Strain

Type: Original Male Character

Race: Feral Vampire (Nosferatu)

Age: 600-ish

Sexuality: Unknown

Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Character tag: {C: Sink in your Teeth > Specter}

Verse: Specter lives on Earth.

Vampire stats/powers/weaknesses: Specter has one inhuman skill which is shadow-phasing. He can use every shadow, and even black things, to move from one place to another. Other than that, he has no special powers. He is NOT stronger, faster or anything else than a human.

Sunlight doesn’t harm him, but he’s not very fond of it. He doesn’t drink blood, he just eats his victims raw with skin and bones. His teeth are all sharp and pointy, but not inhuman long or protruding.

All the fairy tale methods that are used to repel vampires don’t work on Specter either. Garlic stinks; a stake through the heart is painful; and a beheading is a reason to kill the attacker. He does have a weakness, but that is for you to find out through RP. (Or you can ask me if you think your character has this information.)

Good to know: Specter was born as a noble human centuries ago, but he has been made what he is nowadays. The vampires of his kind are not turned as we read in novels - a bite and some blood - but they are put through a far more horrific ordeal to completely remake them. That’s the reason Specter is very hard to kill and it’s also the reason of his mission.

Specter’s real name is Achereon von Brandernach; his human name. Not many of his characteristics have changed since he was remade, he still is inconsiderate, selfish and humorless. The only added bonus he has now is that he can be extremely feral, up to an animalistic point.

Who the heck is my muse anyway:

SIBYL PETYR is an ancient bloodwitch ( or vampwitch, succu-witch, whatever floats your boat ) from anglo - saxon england. she differs from other vampires because she wasn’t turned ; she was cursed, rather, by the old lord marduk, who gave to her the ultimate kiss of doom. since the day of her mortal death in 798 AD, she’s traveled across the world & assembled a small, close - knit bloodwitch coven ---- the coven lives together in new orleans, a modern - day haven for the undead.

Points of interest:

what will immediately jump out, so to speak, about sibyl is her skin, especially when hungry -- she’s pale, almost sickly green, & purplish cobwebs of veins adorn her face and hands. she’s also quite tall, standing at five feet & eleven inches. as for her teeth, her canines & outermost incisors are just slightly fanged, & these fangs are not rectractable.

What they’ve been up to recently:

lately, sibyl’s been using magick to recover memories of her mortal life & studying the lore of her kind. she likes to write, paint, & garden.

Where to find them:

very verse dependent as she’s been alive for so long. nowadays, you can find her in her garden district home or exploring the french quarter beneath the full moon. from the eighth to the tenth century, she remained in england, but by the eleventh century she’d grown restless & began her travels. she didn’t settle in one place until the mid - sixteenth century, at which point she chose a quaint venetian apartment to live in. by the late eighteenth century, she’d moved to paris, where she met the valdís twins, & then by 1846 sibyl found herself in her permanent new orleans home. she continues to travel, though, so you can literally put her in any place on earth & it’ll make sense.

i would absolutely love some more vampy / undead friends for sybil, so anything creepy like that ! sib also rly gets around smh so building up a shippy relationship would b cool too . there’s always like, the classique interview w/ the vampire scenario that i’m personally a hoe for, u know, the mortal being fascinated by the undead & asking a bunch of innocent questions.

sibyl’s ancient & very wise, but she’s a sloppy feeder, so she could easily feed from your muse intending to drain them only for ur muse to survive with little more than two swollen puncture - wounds ---- they could run after sibyl b/c they’re pissed ‘cause now it looks like they’ve got a fucked up hickey, or maybe ‘cause they want her to turn them, or idk.

since sib’s such a lovey, we could set up a romantic relationship between our muses ! if your muse is undead / a vampire, they could be dramatic & awful together & go on hunts together. OR if ur muse is a mortal, we could get really angsty bc a.) sibyl either wouldn’t turn ur muse because ur muse has a lot to live for, or b.) ur muse is too nervous to be turned.

oooor we can just go the established platonic route which is still awesome & sweet ! like i said, sib needs as many undead friends as she can get, but the idea of human friends for her tickles me half to death omg. like, her human friend wakes her up in the daytime n sib is like you better have a good reason for this jfc.

E3 2019

This week was E3 2019 which brought a fresh batch of RPG news, from leak confirmations to brand new gameplay footage. We’ve rounded up some of the major RPG announcements which has gotten us excited for not only this year but 2020 as well!

Darksiders Genesis

A new cinematic trailer was revealed at E3, announcing the addition of a spin-off title to main Darksiders series. Darksiders Genesis will be coming in the form of a top-down action-RPG much like Diablo. It will pit players against enemies in a dungeon-crawler, you’ll kill monsters and gain loot.

As you hack’n’slash your way through, you’ll be playing as a new Horseman of the Apocalypse called Strife. According to THQ Nordic he has been called “upon to save humankind from certain destruction at the hands of Lucifer“.

There will be plenty of intense combat, places to explore, puzzles to solve and epic bosses to battle.

Darksiders Genesis will be launching on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC and Stadia releasing this year 2019.

The Outer Worlds

Kicking off the Microsoft press conference The Outer Worlds gets a release date! The Outer Worlds is an upcoming story-driven RPG by the studio behind the original Fallout: Obsidian Entertainment. Given the recent downturn of the Fallout series, this new IP is seen for many fans as a worthy spiritual successor for their hype, and with good reason!

Finally revealing The Outer Worlds release date, Obsidian shares the launch date for October 25th 2019. The latest trailer shows off Halyon, a world taken over by corporations and depicts the role of the board who provides “security in a senseless and chaotic world”.

It also looks like players will be able to choose the narrative they wish to play, whether making friends with strangers or go completely “psychotic” on them. The trailer also shows more of the environments and some run ‘n’ gun action.

The Outer Worlds will be launching on the Epic Games Store as well as the Windows Store for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. We got to play some of The Outer Worlds at E3 this year, if you know what we thought be sure to check out our The Outer Worlds Gameplay Impressions E3 video on our channel.

Elden Ring

On the Microsoft stage Elden Ring gets a trailer featuring storyline, confirming the previous leak of a collaboration between Hidetaka Miyazaki of FromSoftware and George R.R. Martin. Elden Ring is described as a dark fantasy action-RPG.

While the cinematic trailer doesn’t giveaway much is does talk about the dark age after the magical Elden Ring was broken and shows off some of the mythical characters. This reveal wasn’t exactly a surprise to most following the leaks over the weekend ahead of E3, but the trailer was worth the wait as this looks like an epic collaboration.

An interview was shared on Xbox Wire that mentions that this title will indeed be their “biggest title yet in terms of sheer volume” according to Hidetaka Miyazaki, and he confirms that it’s a third person action-RPG.

No release date has been announced but pre-orders are now available on selected retail websites which now offer the standard edition for $59.99.

Cyberpunk 2077

Sharing more storyline and gameplay, Cyberpunk 2077 gets featured during the Microsoft press conference but not without a few surprises. Announcing the launch date in style, including a surprise visit from Keanu Reeves.

Not only showing some new weapons such as wrist blades in gory action but also introducing a new character played by Keanu Reeves. The character that Reeves will be playing is Mr Fusion,

They also shared the release date which is April 16th 2020, meaning we’ll have to wait until next year for Cyberpunk 2077, well they did tell us “it’s still coming, when it’s ready”.

Pre-orders are now available including the collector’s edition which comes with a statue of V, hardcover artbook, map of the Night City, metal pin set, and more for $249.99, while the standard pre-order is available for $59.99. You can order from Gamestop, Best Buy and Amazon in the US.

Tales of Arise

It looks like another Bandai Namco leak was true as Tales of Arise gets confirmed at E3 2019 with a trailer.

Following the Bandai Namco leak of Elden Ring, another leak was confirmed as being true which was Tales of Arise.

The trailer features some scenic shots as well as some Tales action. Tales of Arise uses an action-RPG battle system which follows the series.

The title will focus on two character that from two different worlds, both looking to change their fate and create their own destiny. It will bring a new cast of characters, updated combat and Tales gameplay mechanics.

Tales of Arise will release sometime during 2020 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Elder Scrolls Online DLCs

Continuing the theme of The Season of the Dragon, during the Bethesda press conference, Zenimax announces two DLCs called Scalebreaker and Dragonhold for Elder Scrolls Online.

It was earlier this year when the developer announced it would be releasing content that all relates to the dragons of Elsweyr. Their roadmap included four instalments starting with the Wrathstone DLC, Elsweyr Chapter which have already been released and two further DLCs set to launch Q3 and Q4.

The first of the DLCs Scalebreaker will arrive in Q3, bringing two further dungeons called Moongrave Fane and Lair of Maarselok.

The second DLC coming toward the end of 2019 will be Dragonhold. This will invite adventurers to a whole new zone in the Southern region of Elsweyr called Pellitine. This vast wasteland was taken over by a deadly plague a couple of decades ago. Here you must team up with allies which includes the return of Sai Sahan, to help reform the ancient Dragonguard order.

These new zones will include new quests, Delves, World Bosses and more Dragon Hunt events.

Both DLCs Scalebreaker and Dragonhold will arrive during the second half 2019, the exact release dates are yet to be announced.

Fallout 76

Bethesda made a couple of update announcements for Fallout 76, first acknowledging the rough start that the game had, but appears they have listened to the community when it comes to features. Announcing two updates Wastelanders and Nuclear Winter which will bring a host of new content.

The first free update announced comes in the form of the Wastelanders, which will include human NPCs, a new main quest, more choice/consequences, new weapons and gear. Bethesda explained at the press conference that this will add full dialog trees, making the storyline more complete.

This also means you need to decide who’s side you’re taking, whether to join factions of the Raiders or the Settlers.

Bethesda boldly states that “Wastelanders will fundamentally change the way you experience Fallout 76, and it’s set to arrive in fall of 2019”.

Setting to amp up the competitive nature of the game more, even after adding Survival mode which offered a more PvP centered gameplay, a new battle royale mode will be coming with the Nuclear Winter update. Adding a 52 player last-one standing, with an encroaching ring of fire as motivation to keep moving. The mode will still allow Perk Cards and nukes as you battle is out to become the Overseer of Vault 51. Bethesda describes it as: “Think of Nuclear Winter as the entire Fallout 76 experience, tightly condensed into about 20 minutes.”

You can try out Nuclear Winter during June 10th to June 17th, meaning everyone can play Fallout 76 for free on all platforms during the free trial.

Final Fantasy 7

While you might thinking that Microsoft have stolen the E3 spotlight with a slew of announcements, but even without Sony attending this year, they still have a big announcement regarding the Final Fantasy VII remake.

A new trailer has been shared on the official Playstation Youtube channel that not only shows more gameplay but announces the release date for the highly anticipate Final Fantasy VII remake.

A short trailer was released at the Fantasy VII concert in Los Angeles that revealed the release date which is March 3rd 2020 and confirms this is a Playstation 4 exclusive.

While we may have expected that the announcement would be made during Square Enix’s press conference on June 10th, it looks like the launch date couldn’t wait.

But Square Enix didn’t come empty handed to E3, they shared a longer trailer featuring new scenes and gameplay footage which showed Tifa in action.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2

The sequel Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was announced at the last GDC, an action-RPG set in city of Seattle. At E3 during the PC Gaming Show, a new trailer was unveiled now sharing some pre-alpha gameplay.

Taking a closer look at the Seattle locations, melee combat, guns, more of the vampire abilities including levitation and even summoning bats. The trailer also shares what its like to be a newborn vampire in city with warring political factions, as well as some of the narrative choices players can expect. It also showed off some abilities which includes leaping far distances as well as what appears to be detecting victims to feed off to help “feed your power”.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is set to release on PC via Paradox Store, Steam, GOG, Epic as well as Playstation 4 and Xbox One sometime next year in 2020.

Code Vein

During an episode of Inside Xbox, Microsoft and Bandai Namco announced the launch date of Code Vein.

The action-RPG souls-like Code Vein will be launching on September 27th 2019. The title previously was set to release in September 2018, but later got an announcement in July that it would be delayed until this year it was announced that they wished to “produce better quality in order to deliver to customers” according to the press release that was issued.

Bandai Namco recently held their Code Vein network test at the end of May, where players could try out the title experiencing select quests, face enemies and test out a few abilities. It also showed the wide customisation choices, which includes choosing a variation of Gifts.

The new trailer showcases some of the story of Code Vein which takes place in world where Revenants now exist, inflicted with their thirst for blood, they are also granted powerful abilities. The trailer also shows some of the bosses that players will battle.

Code Vein will release on Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC on September 27th 2019.

Final Fantasy 8 Remastered

While Nintendo has already brought a number of Final Fantasy titles to new platforms this year one particular title was missed out and this looks like this could be the reason.

Final Fantasy 8 Remastered was announced at the Square Enix press conference to be coming to the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC later this year.

An announcement trailer showed off Squall and his squad in a remastered version, bringing the classic JRPG turn-based system to modern platforms. So far they haven’t released details in terms the updated graphics it will receive, the original was release back in 1999 for the Playstation.

The Final Fantasy 8 Remastered will be coming later this year 2019.

Persona 5: The Royal

While we knew that Persona 5: The Royal would be releasing next year in Japan, at E3 we get a confirmation that it will be coming to the West in 2020.

An English trailer was released during E3, showing the same footage that was revealed in the Japanese trailer earlier this year.

The trailer is pretty much the same but has the English voice acting instead.

Persona 5: The Royal is an expanded edition of the original title, featuring new areas to explore in Tokyo, new characters, reworked dungeon designs with new foes to face, graphical and UI improvements.

There will also be new music to enjoy and a new third semester at Shujin Academy.

Persona 5: The Royal will be launching in West in 2020.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses

A brand new trailer for Nintendo’s Fire Emblem: Three Houses was revealed, showing off the tactical RPG. There was also a livestream demonstration on the Nintendo Treehouse showing more of the gameplay.

This title lets players choose to teach one of the three houses at the Academy, which has many formidable students. Taking up the role of professor you must shape the student’s academic lives between taking on turn-based battles, full of strategy and twists to overcome.

There is quite a large central hub, and plenty to do as teacher which includes interacting with students and using the new calendar system. You can even interact with students from the other houses and have the opportunity to recruit them.

Fire Emblem: Three Houses launches on the Nintendo Switch on July 26th 2019.

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2

Ending the Nintendo press conference with a bang, Nintendo announced a sequel to The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild was in the works. A short teaser trailer for the next instalment was shown while not giving away too much, it confirmed that another game was underway.

The teaser was followed by a short statement that explained “The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is now in development.” So far no game title or release date has been announced. The trailer shows Link traveling with Zelda on horseback, then something happens to Hyrule Castle in the distance. The trailer shows an unknown magic perceived to be resurrecting a skeletal figure, with some speculating that this could be the return of Ganon.

While the trailer shows the same art style, cel shading that was used in the first Breath of the Wild, the theme of this trailer is definitely a lot darker than the first title. Whether its the eerie music or the necromantic nature of the visuals playing, things seem to get a little more creepy.

So far no release date has been reveal, neither the official name for the sequel.
