More basketball bullshit
Larry Bird, Isiah Thomas, and Reggie Miller had a sort of 3 way interview/conversation together since The All Star game is in Indianapolis, and it's a good conversation. You never hear Larry talk these days, he's pretty inaccessible most of the time, so having him be pretty open and honest and comfortable with these two was a real treat to watch.
My favorite shit though is, what I was hoping would happen, where Reggie brings up the whole "Larry Bird was the best trash talker in the NBA" stuff, and asks Larry if he considers himself a trash talker. And Larry, as he has since the 80s, says "No, I don't." Except this time around he's talking to people who have direct experience playing him, not some interviewer/member of the press, and both Reggie and Isiah just give him this look all "come on, man."
Seeing Larry finally have to cede and go, "fine, but I did it because it was fun, not to be mean," was really satisfying, because he's tried to insist he never talked trash despite dozens of people--teammates and opponents--over the past few decades basically telling on him (including Kevin McHale, who basically said "lol Larry's such a liar").
It's one of those random things I'd hit over and over again while doing research for the project that I was always sort of baffled by, because there are a billion different stories from a bunch of different people and he was still trying to get away with saying he didn't do it haha. So him not being able to dodge or deny it this time around was great. Though "Well I wasn't being vicious like other people," as his reasoning is funny.
It was good seeing and hearing the old guy talk. He's coming up on 70 in a few years, glad he's still around with stuff to say and seems to be doing okay.

There’s only one way Isiah Thomas will end his feud with ‘a–hole’ Michael Jordan
There’s only one way Isiah Thomas will end his feud with ‘a–hole’ Michael Jordan
The decades-old beef between Isiah Thomas and Michael Jordan lives on. The Pistons legend made it clear that he isn’t backing down from his long-standing feud with the Bulls icon without an apology while discussing Jordan’s ESPN docuseries, “The Last Dance.” On Tuesday, Thomas took to Twitter to share comments he made to the Greek NBA rights holder COSMOTE TV during the Abu Dhabi NBA games last…

There's no over-exaggeration at all but this is the story of the biggest rivalry of MJ's career.
In his decorative career, many players were not brave enough to challenge the black Jesus. But hands down Isiah Thomas and Bad Boys Pistons gave him the most problems. This beef still exists to this day.Isiah Thomas was born in Chicago and played for Detroit, while Jordan was born in North Carolina and Played for Chicago. The ego of Isiah didn't let him admit that the new kid in the town doing something special.
Tumblr media
As Isiah recently said,
"I made it real easy for him to walk those streets on the west side of Chicago. My family took care of him."
During their nearly 9 year rivalry on the court, Isiah has the best record when it comes to team achievements. He has an overall record of 36-29 against Jordan which includes a 24-9 regular season record and a 12-10 playoff record.Without a second thought, Isiah and Bad Boys Pistons are the key factors that MJ and the bulls didn't make it to the finals until 1991.
They first met in 1984 and Isiah scored 35 and MJ scored only 25 points.Still, the Bulls were able to seal the victory in that game. The last time they met was in 1993 when MJ scored 36 while IT got only 28 on the board.
When it comes to individual records MJ has more average points, rebounds steals and blocks head-to-head while Thomas only has more APG.
The Bad Boys Pistons led by Isiah Thomas included key players like John Salley, Joe Dumars, Bill Laimbeer, and Dennis Rodman. They just challenged the sh*t outta Jordan from the beginning of his career.
Tumblr media
Lately, Rodman won 3-titles with the Bulls led by Jordan.
Tumblr media
In my POV Isiah and the Pistons are those responsible for making Jordan the fear factor that everybody was scared of.

(sorry you’re the only person i know of that watched winning time) im not upset about winning time being cancelled tbh but the fact we could’ve gotten a recreation of the converse commercial is what kills me
I don't know if you're talking about the French Lick converse commercial (the one that led to Larry and Magic's friendship), but I would've loved to have been cringed into oblivion by them recreating the All Stars Converse Weapons commercial where they're all rapping.
Larry doesn't even fucking TRY to be on beat, bless him.
youtube
though tbf it might be bc they had to do a million takes starting from the top and he was always the one at the end.
