i feel like people keep interchanging MAINS, EXCLUSIVES, and AFFILIATES and haphazardly using them without really recognizing what they mean, so here's a brief description of the differences.

MAINS are the primary group of roleplay blogs you interact with on a regular basis. you might choose to prioritize them in terms of replies or ask memes, or focus on their dynamics more often than you do others.

EXCLUSIVES are the only version of that character you will write with. as an example, if you add a canon superman or a princess jasmine to your exclusives, it means you will not write with or follow any duplicates of those characters.

** this can also include FACECLAIM EXCLUSIVES, where you won't follow duplicate faceclaims of your favorite blogs. weird example, but if you're writing with a blog using tom hanks as their faceclaim, you might say you're faceclaim exclusive with that blog and refuse to write with or follow any other blogs using tom hanks.

AFFILIATES are blogs with extensive ties to your blog's canon. their characters are weaved into your storyline to such a degree that you cannot separate them from one another. maybe they're your primary or single ship partner. maybe you created the characters together. maybe they're from the same piece of media and you want to establish their significant ties to your muse and their story. this is a step up from exclusives, and their url is often linked in your pinned or placed on your rules page.

People who engage in the Hetalia fandom while openly disliking the source material and even Himaruya himself sound kinda like hypocrites to me. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but please stay away from me, this kind of mindset truly annoys me and makes me uncomfortable. Am I gatekeeping? No, not really, I just believe that being a fan of something should mean, you know, being a fan and liking the source material at the very least. It should be like, the lowest the bar can get. Below that, there's not being a fan.

They are together once more– celebrating, drinking, laughing as if they had not been recently apart for the last six months.

Fjord and Jester just announced that they're engaged to be married in the next year. 

He is of course, incredibly happy for them, but he can't help the sinking feeling in his chest, especially when his eyes land on Essek, who smiles fondly at Jester's beaming, proud little face.

He's making him wait for so long, and it's been six months, but not yet. He's not ready. There's still so much left to fix– in the world, and in himself.

He lays a hand gently on top of Essek's when he gets the chance next, and he doesn't know how to say 'Thank you' and 'I've missed you' and 'I wish much for us' so all that comes out is:

"I'm sorry."

Essek, perplexed, says quietly between them, "For what?"

He feels a sad smile grow on his lips and his words leave him again, so he shakes his head and says, "Later."

Soft violet eyes meet his searchingly, then Essek nods, smiles kind and warm, then squeezes his hand and moves on.

When Caleb looks away, he sees Caduceus approaching to put down a bowl of stew in front of him, then sits next to him with his own and hums thoughtfully.

"Do you remember the green beans?"

"Ah– ja, ja– of course." His voice comes out far more timid than he'd intended.

"We are planted, and so we have to grow. But each plant grows differently, some fast, some slow, some tall or short. Some grow in the fall, and some in spring."

Caleb swallows the spoonful of food in his mouth and it goes down past the lump in his throat.

He didn't realize he was so easy to read.

Then again, it's Caduceus.

"You are not slow or out of time, Caleb. You are growing exactly as you are meant to."

Dammit.

He feels his eyes well up quick, and a traitorous tear rolls off his lashes and into his lap when he blinks to look away, embarrassed.

Caduceus' large, warm hand lands on his shoulder.

"Th– thank you, Herr Clay."

Ofc it's fanfiction so it doesn't really matter and I firmly believe anyone is allowed to write even the most ooc bs ever because that's what fanfics are for, to do whatever the hell you want, so that's a slight to no one and just me putting my thoughts out there

So yeah, I'm not saying wei wuxian has to be the smartest, the genius and the prodigy, especially if it's not about him, but he IS very intelligent and making him act stupid and not in a playful way but in serious situations where he is making things worse or depending on others to explain obvious things to him is really weird and feels as if an author either didn't understand his character or just doesn't like him

And again, it's weird for me bc all the time I'm saying that fanfics are for writing whatever you wish but at the same time... sometimes I just want to complain a bit about things I hate 😅
