grace chasity is the anti-ted: a ramble

so i was rewatching some hatchetfield stuff and i came to. a realization.

grace chasity and ted spankoffski are practically eachother’s exact opposites, and it makes both of their individuals stories so compelling. i wouldn’t exactly say they’re narrative foils, because we never really see them interact in canon, so they’re more almost… parallels.

for example, ted spankoffski proudly accepts the moniker of “horny bastard”, and plays right into it, not hiding his sexual urges. grace chasity’s belief that her sexual urges and fantasies are sinful put her through so much distress that she winds up killing somebody.

on the other hand, ted spankoffski is ultimately very concerned by murder and violence. grace thinks nothing of it, even going as far as to gleefully dismember a body and hide it under floorboards. queen!

grace valued her chastity most of all, but she gave it up to save her friends and ultimately the world. ted, however, thoroughly enjoys sleeping around and being a total sleazeball, but was willing to give it up for another chance with jenny (although he did try to use these sleazeball ways to help him achieve that goal)

the most important comparison is something that isn’t Entirely canon but i feel as though is Implied. i believe that in every timeline, ted spankoffski will die. i also believe that in every timeline, grace chasity will kill. again, directly contrasting eachother, but in a much more drastic way. there are many other parallels between the two i just can’t think of specifics rn

additionally, in the nerdy prudes must die timeline, grace goes on a murderous rampage against all “dirty dudes”, fuelled by the lords in black. and what is theodore spankoffski if not the dirtiest dude of all? there’s no way he’s making it out of that.

i think that the only time grace and ted’s paths will ever notably cross in any timeline is when grace kills ted. this thought is made even More Impactful when you consider grace’s kind-of-friendship with Pete.

random but it struck me that age is just another parallel/anti-parallel that Jon and Jaime will share. Jaime was 16/17(?) when he made the fateful choice to kill Aerys, which forever besmirched his honor and caused him to be “the Kingslayer” (deragatory). Jon was about the same age, 17/18, when he made the fateful decision to march south against the Boltons, something that will undoubtedly dent his already shaky reputation and could cause him to be “the deserter” (also deragatory).

We always talk about how Jaime stagnated and wallowed in his nihilism after Aerys’ death, never growing or maturing past that point; in a way, he was always mentally stuck at 17. Jon could very well die given the wounds he received during the mutiny, and though he will be revived, he will be always be physically stuck at 17, never maturing past that point. But I think Jon has been more successful in a way that Jaime never was in that he figured out quite early (when he was 15) that though he may lose his honor, he must keep pushing for the greater good. He understood the concept of “a bastard’s honor”, and is even more fortunate to receive Tyrion’s lesson of using one’s lowly position/lack of honor to his advantage, which he has been doing to enact what he considers to be the moral goods (ref “bastard” “guilty of that, at least”). P.S: I also think it’s funny given Aemon’s advice to kill the boy in order for the man to be born. Ironic that Jon will always be a boy physically.

Jaime grew physically but not so much mentally. Jon grows mentally (it’s actually his strong suit as a character how much he matures with each book) but he will have sacrificed the ability to age normally as a boy would. Jaime lost his honor at ~17 and is characterized but years of (mental) inaction. I think Jon, on the other hand, will lose his honor but will be more and more prone to making decisions, because to hell with it all.

#ok I will say that Jaime is growing though #his arc since asos has been him pushing past that stagnation #but I just wanted to talk about the forever 17 boys having to lose their honor and grappling with that #and tbh I think Jon will have his own little period of wallowments but it won’t last nearly as long as Jaime’s did #and tbh Jon already knows how rotten the institution he is a part of is so that will help him work out of his slump #he just expected them to work past that rottenness and do their damn jobs - but alas! #this is so jambled and is me rambling a bit but whatever #jon and jaime best morally compromised boys ❤️ #asoiaf #jon snow #jaime lannister #valyrianscrolls

No one has noticed the color choice I used for Ahri's dresses in the sketchbook chronicles plot

First I did pink in the beginning of it all. When Ahri was more unaware of Sera's staring but picking up on it. I use pink as Ahri's main color in my art when it comes to clothes. To me it kinda represents her idol status in Seraphine's eyes. So Sera sees Ahri in pink = admiring idol Ahri and not friend Ahri. Sera is fangirling basically

Then I chose blue for the next part to represent Seraphine (I hc it's one of her main colors) and Ahri took notice and used it as something to keep her attention, because subconsciously she's doing that thing where you'd wear your crush's fav color so they'd notice you (tho in Ahri's mind she's not aware of her own crush, but is being flirty friendly to get to the sketchbook)

Then for the final(?) part I chose a very light green. Like a "gotcha!" moment. Idk this time I saw it a nice happy color for the ✨kiss scene✨ it seemed like a good neutral color that could represent them both, seeing that Seraphine's top is colored to match a bit

I didn't use any already existing color theories with this series. I used the way I see the characters and their own personal connections to color. Thanks for listening to me ramble on about them again

You know, something I find truly admirable is how Arthur stood up to Dutch constantly throughout chapter 6 and during the end of chapter 5. Because if you think about it that must’ve been hard to do when you consider how he admired Dutch and looked up to him, Dutch was a father figure, a leader, the kinda guy you want to like you and want him to be on your side and to have your back. Arthur sought validation from Dutch for so many years and to finally stray away from his mess and stand up to him face to face with no backing down is truly respectable and very brave. Obviously Arthur is going to stand up for what’s right because he’s Arthur (there’s a difference I guess whether you play honourable or dishonourable) but he’s caring and thoughtful.

I think what also had a part to play in it was the fact that he was following Hosea’s footsteps in a sense, it’s almost like as if Hosea passed and then Arthur saw that now he needed to step up and be that voice of reason now that the original voice of reason was gone. We all know Hosea never backed down from Dutch, he would give him shit when needed and rightfully so to try and get some sense into him. Hosea never backed down and was never afraid to voice his concerns and opinions to Dutch’s face right then and there and I think Arthur definitely inherited that trait from Hosea. I mean Dutch even said it himself when he told Arthur “you sound like Hosea”. I can’t help but wonder what Arthur must have been thinking in his mind during the last chapter, I wonder if he thinks to himself ‘if only Hosea could see this catastrophe’. I wonder what Hosea would’ve done during the last chapters if he was still alive, although part of me already knows that he would get the women and Jack and everyone he cared about out of there as soon as possible, but I wonder how it all would’ve ended if he was still there, would they still point all their guns at one another towards the end? Or would they have just ran off or maybe stayed once all the women and Jack were safe? Or would it even happen considering the Saint Denis bank (Hosea’s death) was what plummeted the gangs downfall? The mind wanders.

But I just wanted to say I find it very honourable how Arthur stood up to the man he admired for years, the man he sought validation from. It’s hard standing up to people you love and looked up to for years, especially when they become your family and I really admire that strength he had despite him going through his own world of troubles with his illness and everything else going on.

a lot of people still have trouble spotting AI art and i just want to give some quick tips on how i usually quickly recognize it

often it's the smoothness of the image that sets off my initial alarms, a distinct lack of minor textures you'd expect from real things.

sometimes the texture doesn't match what it was supposed to represent, and often things look oddly soft and rubbery. the light doesn't bounce off it quite right and it feels over-rendered.

i've seen weird random blurring on many AI works as well

The longer you look, the more you realize that it's lopsided in several places, positions and distances of objects make no sense.

A closer inspection usually makes you notice the smudged details, which i think is what truly gives it away - AI mimics real patterns, but doesn't always nail them.

More complex small objects get smudged and blended together, and complex patterns look more like an oil spill rather than anything designed with clear vision and intent.

If there are any letters, they never look real or readable

I've seen people AI generate ""historical"" objects and paintings and post them with a fake caption, claiming that they are real

Be wary, because we live in a very uncertain age when it comes to information. Learn to spot AI-generated images, reverse image search and fact-check when something seems off.

In this case it's just a fake camera, but this technology can, will, and already is used in much more malicious ways.

My full name is Chris Pycream Bacon, but you can call me Crispy! Others have bestowed upon me Chris P, Chris, Christopher and Bacon which I very much welcome.

In here you'll find, well, art! Not just from me but from others as well because sharing art is caring. I also sometimes post reviews, opinions or just jamble-tamble-rambles.

I love drawing anything from comics to illustations to OCs to fanart. I just draw whatever my heart desires at the moment. One day, I'd love to be an animator or a comic artist, but I'm open to whatever art career welcomes me with open arms!

Naomi and Kyla! My blorbos my munchkins my half demon spawns

I don't have any new art of the girls BUT here's the most recent art of them I still have in my pocket

Naomi is a kaieve kid. Spawned from parasite/demon energy cross breeding (aka Eve and Kai'sa got it on real good one night and she appeared the next morning) Naomi (or Mimi for short) is a near spitting image of Evelynn, and the personality to go with it...

Taking well after Kai'sa Naomi is very passionate and outspoken with her interests and gets excited at new projects and learning opportunities. The other half from Evelynn is her dramatic flare on life and constantly making moves for success, a natural business woman and entrepreneur. Is often praised for by Eve for just the smallest things and she loves having her mom's constant attention

Raising Naomi was an odd case for her four moms. She wouldn't do much as a baby, just follow mommy Eve around mostly, or sticking close to her big sister. But she had the rare "demon baby" moments. She's a very strong hybrid who has void powers and demon instincts. It took a full void suited Kai'sa and demon shade mode Evelynn to calm her down from a tantrum. Later on Naomi grew a strong attachment to Ahri's fox form in her kid years, and often turned to momma Ahri for comfort

Some facts about Naomi

- very artistic. Enjoys fashion and painting

- smooth singing voice with lots of range. Loves learning songs in different languages

- an exceptional dancer and her favorite is tango

- is described as a socialite, but keeps her friend circle small

- used to stare blankly at Evelynn as baby, later learned that's how she shows affection

Now for Kyla. She's the oldest and was carried by Ahri. Born from Evelynn's demon energy mixing with the magical power of love for her wife and boom! A happy lil accident :D Kyla is born some good years after kda has made some albums and built a flourishing legacy (I see them all in their late 30s- early 40s when Kyla is born) Eve, Ahri, Akali and Kai'sa smothered their bab with the upmost love and attention as she grew up.

Raised as a legacy to the kda house name, Kyla was exposed to a lot of musical creation at home and grew a particular fond for music production. Often sneaking into Akali's studio after being put down for bed to watch her momma make cool sounds and beats. It's there she learns to create her own tracks and grows to carry on the kda name in the music industry

Personality wise Kyla is very quiet and is selectively mute. Only speaking when at home and to close friends (and the rare interview). Picking up after Akali she's often found held up in her room creating music for hours on end, often getting dragged out by Kai'sa and her sister to get a taste of sunlight. She uses music as her outlet and a way to speak to people and express herself. If not in the studio she can be found curled up in her fox form under Ahri

Some facts about Kyla

- doesn't speak as many languages as Naomi and Kai'sa, but is fluent in sign language

- sneaks out at night to underground clubs to test tracks (the only ones who know are Evelynn and Akali)

- her and Naomi both form the new kda group

- despite her shy personality Kyla has a much different stage presence with more energy

- looks up to Seraphine as her idol

PHEW!! that's all I can remember from like 2 years ago? I'm definitely gonna give them some redesigns tho so these ones aren't that canon anymore. I remember making these girls as a joke like "hurhurhur what if they unexpectedly had kids and stumbled into a chaotic family lifestyle" then ended up really liking the kids I made. Small note tho, I don't see kda actually having kids at some point. Both personally and logically in their universe. These girls exist more in an au setting of kda expanding into a more familial territory

A Mild-Small Ramble-Jamble About Comics. Again. Yeah.

Look, I don't read comics anymore. I don't. At least DC Comics. Why would I? They're bad. You think they're popular 'cause of what the fandom makes you think? No, honey, what you think is popular is purely because most people who talk pretty about it will eat what ever slop they give you. Most people left. This is why characters that seem popular keep getting cancelled. There's no deeper reason than that. Most simply think they're a waste of time, and aren't very good.

Is that rude to say? Yes. I know it is. But I also do not care that much at the same time. Enjoy your slop.

Not everyone needs a five star meal to be content, you get what I'm saying?

I'm certainly not someone that needs a five star meal. I'm content with a two star meal honestly if that needs to be.

All I want is something that feels like it was made and properly prepared by someone who cared. In food, enough to have a nice enough taste. In comics it's that I want the writer to at least seem like they're trying their best to understand the character they're writing, and to give them nice new chapters and adventures that feel like they're worth reading and fit along nicely with the character.

All you have to do is give a shit.

Simply put, I'm fine with a person doesn't know what Tim Drake's favorite pizza is, as long as they know the sort of boy he is.

Someone forgets Damian Wayne doesn't eat meat? Well, I guess as long as they know who he is and who he isn't. It's not brought up that much in all honesty. I can forgive them not knowing one trait, that typically doesn't effect is personality in nearly every other moment not directly relating to it.

And gosh, if someone doesn't understand Superman that badly, why would I read anything they write?

Some characters like Batman have had such a varied existence as a fictional character due to the events in the industry that has forced changed upon him. Making his inconsistency, at least, to an extent, forgivable.

Others don't. They were made in times where comics have remained consistent beyond the tastes of the public changing. So when a character changes so violently, with no good reason, it's distracting and bad.

I'm not gonna be someone who'll let a writer making random changes be considered 'character development' when I know better. Character changes have to make sense and have some level of consistency with the character and the heart of their story to be actual character development. Treating someone's lazy work as if they did something good, only let's the poor work continue.

To me, if I have to convince myself I like something by lying to myself. I don't like the damn thing. That's harder to do when you're an active part of the fandom that takes up a good chunk of your personal life. Believe you me.

I'd rather read a mediocre comic that gives me the character, then a story that doesn't give me anything.

That has a soul at least. You could feel a passion then.

Yet, 'cause of the lack of anyone who cares remaining, we're left with writers getting their fan fictions published. And I have no problems with fan fictions, hell, technically every story written after the original creator is a fan fiction.

At the same time however, you'd be pompous and playing dumb if you couldn't admit the difference between a professional writer using his talents to create the new chapter, keeping good consistency, and general writing knowledge to create a nice bridge to a new era with a new imagination behind the controls keeping a steady grip on what works and what doesn't.

And a fan fiction where every character has two traits, and neither of them are right. And people only praise because it offers itself nicely to people who are fine only care about the superficial.

This is all made so much worse by the active 'fandom' obsessing over writers who took interesting new characters, who had so many different levels of complexities and eccentricities, and instead wrote them to have moments where they're written like a toddler, and can't keep the character's personality and motives consistent to save their lives, even taking part in making them do things that the 'fandom' themselves deem out of character, but they're willingly ignore because oh they gave the character an 'uwu' moment that's causing everyone else to leave.

Or relationships that make no sense when you actually read what came before, simply because they changed the characters to become tropes they didn't fit into before, that they happen to like.

Edgy characters, with boiling turmoil in their spirits that has potential for stories to last decades about mature topics, the other character in their super-hero 'family' couldn't tell, being turned into...well, just an edgier version of what another character used to be.

Highly praised character arcs ignored to make a character more quirky and pathetic, to seem more 'dateable' to a sect of people on the internet who I doubt would care about the character otherwise, and likely doesn't buy any comics to begin with.

Which, a lot of this sounding, gatekeeping, and I don't really want to gatekeep, and I'm not. If they enjoy themselves, so be it. I'd rather be grumpy and ignore something I used to like, over people who have nothing else because of the state of their lives to feel like they have to be lonelier. I'm well aware of how a lot of people can be.

I've been in similar positions before.

I'm just saying stuff I've already said before, but I'm saying again, 'cause it's all came to the top of my mind again. That's all really.

A company with creative properties that used to be at the top of their industry now laid to rest as soulless duds that sometimes don't look like themselves, let alone act like themselves.

Why purchase a product that's more offensive then something I can get for free? At least the actual fan fiction normally doesn't promote itself as actually being the next chapter in a character's life.

There's changing with the times, and then there's laying down and playing dead out of desperation someone might take pity on them.

Treating scraps like treats, when if they'd try a little bit harder the world's at their finger tips again.

Only reason I'm saying this again is the added layer of "Oh fuck, they're still like this?". It's more sad than it was before, and it was already pathetic.
