ASTRO

O grupo debutou em 2016 com 6 membros, por ordem de idade, MJ (Kim Myungjun), JINJIN (Park Jinwoo), CHA EUNWOO (Lee Dongmin), MOONBIN (Moon Bin), ROCKY (Park Minhyuk), YOON SANHA (Yoon Sanha), sob a gerência da empresa Fantagio. E a partir de Fevereiro de 2023, o ASTRO segue as atividades como um grupo no sistema de 5 membros.

Fantagio era uma empresa até então reconhecida pelos seus artistas na área da atuação, mas teve outros grupos como 5urprise e o Hello Venus. Atualmente, além do ASTRO tem o girl group WekiMeki.

ASTRO completou 7 anos no dia 23 de Fevereiro de 2023, com isso veio o fim do contrato dos membros do grupo com a empresa. O primeiro a anunciar a renovação do contrato foi o CHA EUNWOO, depois JINJIN, MOONBIN e YOON SANHA anunciaram a renovação dos contratos deles com a Fantagio. O membro ROCKY decidiu pela não renovação do contrato dele com a Fantagio e foi anunciado pela empresa que o mesmo deixou o grupo. ROCKY, agora utilizando o nome Park Minhyuk segue o próprio caminho dele, até o momento (24/03/2023) ele segue independente. O membro MJ (Kim Myungjun) está no exército e o contrato dele com a Fantagio, será discutido quando ele for dispensado, a dispensa dele está programada para o dia 08 de Novembro de 2023.

ASTRO is a South Korean boys band under the label of Fantagio

It was already late at night, the streets sleep but you are on your phone talking to Moon Bin after a long day of being busy for your own accord. He asked if you saw there recent stage and how was it, of course, being one of their fans you make time despite being busy to watch it.

 Moonbin: Sanha and M hyung is still eating, Jinjin hyung and Rocky probably asleep and Eunwoo still have his schedule. Why? [His eyes sharpen]

 Y/N: Nothing, I just find them cute and adorable on stage today. [The thought just makes you smile and squeak a little.]

 Moonbin: Hey [His brows deep in confusion] I think you need to sleep, little one.

 Y/N: Why? They are cute and adorable. Didn't you see Sanha? His chest pump and dancing is so powerful and his gesture is so cute. He is such a man now, that baby really did grow up so fast.

 Moonbin: [He chuckled at the thought of Sanha that is really trying to become manlier this days and he is glad that someone other the members acknowledge it.]

 Y/N: I think I might change my bias? I can't even pick now. [Y/N starts to be confused and giggly which Moonbin see as adorable and confusing.]

 Moonbin: Nah, you love me. [He said chuckling.]

 Y/N: But Sanha is being such a cutie lately and there's MJ being such a dual King and Queen I'm being snatched. [You said with a little pout and seriousness, you even shook your head a little in a deep thinking.

 Moonbin: But you love me. [Still not believing Y/N's thought, he look at her like she is being crazed and look if he called the wrong number.]

 Y/N: And there's Jinjin making me cry with his visuals and soft voice, and I miss Eunwoo's smile and laugh. God, I just miss him can you drag his fat ass on the line? We miss him so much.

(BTS) Yoongi!!!!!!!! My first bias ever in a kpop group (not counting that one stint with T.O.P back in Fantastic Baby era before I was a kpop stan). His voice and his demeanor and how calm he is. I really have this thing where I notice the ones that aren’t in the center all of the time. Then I heard his voice. I have a thing for voices okay- you’ll see what I mean by the time we’re done here. My BTS bias wrecker is the maknae, one Jeon Jungkook.

(Monsta X) Jooheon, my sweet honey. First of all, I miss you and I hope you’re starting to feel better. I love and respect you so much. I find most of the groups I stan because their MVs show up on my youtube mix. Alligator was playing and while yeah they’re all super wow in that MV- Jooheon’s cheeky smile and his rap and his eyes in it were just. oof. He had me at, “Hello, I’m an alli-alligator!”

(Monsta X) I’m whipped for ‘94 line, okay?!! Hyungwon. H.one. The king of memes and sarcasm and I love everything about this bean. He seems so cold and stoic but if you give him enough attention you can tell how loving and warm he actually is and I just want to squish him and love him and maybe our MTBI’s are some of the strongest compatability and I can’t stop thinking about how easy I would get along with him because our attitude and humor is the same. (TXT) My first child- our precious bread loving baby bunny leader, Soobinie. I immediately was attracted to the way he speaks? Like the way his mouth moves is very adorable! His voice is also very soothing and his singing is easy to listen to and I want to pat his head (lol right raz he is so tol) and wrap him in blankets and tell him he’s cute every second of every day. My favorite of the ones I consider my children- don’t tell the others.

(TXT) Yeonjun! I love his laugh so much and his cute smile and he is another one with feline eyes like Jooheon which I am easily drawn to. I also really enjoy his personality and his interactions with his members as their hyung and I think we would get along swimmingly as friends or siblings. A whole talented cutie. Bias wrecker in TXT has to be their maknae, too. Huening Kai. Wahh so baby.

(EXO) Park. Chan. Yeol. What a man. I can’t explain. I truly, honestly believe he is one of the people I would mesh the best with in this world. His voice and this fucking L O O K in tempo immediately caught my attention- once again in the MV as it came up on my youtube mix. Then I caught myself up to speed on him and his group and his other work and I fell really fast really hard for him and I grow more in love with him every day. (sobs).

(EXO) LOOK AT THIS SMILE. In case it wasn’t already suffocatingly obvious- I love Kim Junmyeon. EXO’s leader and guardian, Suho. Again- he grew on me much like Namjoon did. He takes such good care of his members and just wants to be happy and I genuinely think he is one of the nicest people even when the camera is off and I really admire that about him. I also see a lot of his pain and it hurts and I just want to love him unconditionally for all of eternity. Bias wrecker for EXO is really every other member but more often than the others is Baekhyunnie or Sehunnie.

(Astro) See, I told you I have a thing for deep-voiced rappers. It’s always them that catch my attention first and foremost. Much the same as the others, Blue Flame came up on my YouTube mix and here we are down the rabbit hole surrounded by six more children I didn’t ask for, but Jinjin is such a good hyung and leader and total cutie pie. I’m totally smitten.

(Astro) Once more- look at this precious smile I am so soft??? Moonbin is their center typically and I tried to resist him for a long time but he just seems really mature (I feel like jinjin, cha eunwoo and moonbin are the most mature)? The main dancers of groups aren’t usually the ones I am drawn to- but just as with Hyungwon, I am fascinated with the way he moves. Very etheral, goodest boy. Also that visual??? Their cover of SHINee's replay is the BEST thing ever

The members seem to get along extremely well and the group atmosphere and bond is unlike other groups. while other groups can be close etc. maybe it's because there are fewer members but the bond between them seems really strong and their personalities mesh really well, while I doubt other people would fit into their group easily.

Have some seriously underrated choreo

Strange promotion schedules? like 3 in one year when they debuted, then relatively normal until like a year or so gap before All Light. Just....strange

Member Breakdown:

JinJin: Powerless leader, can't control the chaos, also doesn't really try lol. Deep voice, rough rap, tiny uwu, good dancer. Not nearly as insane as the rest of the group, but that doesn't mean he's anywhere near normal lol, just more mellow.

MJ: Chaotic screeching. Oldest but doesn't act like it. Great vocal, hits high notes with ease. ALWAYS energetic like he's jacked up on caffeine 24/7. Absolutely ridiculous, crazy dancing, shrieking, giggling, it's a glorious mess lol.

Cha Eunwoo: Visual king, actor, pretends to be more composed than the rest of them but in reality is just a bit more calm lol. Just as dorky as the other members. Very distinct vocal tone.

Moonbin: Controlled crazy, excellent dancer and vocalist, also super energized all the time, but less shrieking and chaos involved than MJ lol. Jokes around a lot, silly. A bit over the top sometimes, but in a good way.

Rocky: Pretends to be somewhat aloof but joins in with the rest, incredible dancer, great rapper and secretly great vocalist (see their Replay cover, no joke, #Rockyformainvocal). Like the rest, is straight up weird, especially when it comes to random dances lol (see weekly idol). Very easygoing, leisurely manner. Rocky swag!

Sanha: The surprisingly mature maknae. Very solid vocalist and dancer, and a bit more controlled human being than some members lol. Young and silly but also rational and not out of control. Very hardworking, ending fairy.

Not to mention the song itself. The lyrics are so deep and meaningful and are sung/rapped so perfectly it’s what I want to hear if I go to heaven. You can tell that the boys have worked their butts off to bring this to the table and we are not disappointed so please give them the love that they deserve

Song of the 3 Weeks

TSo it’s been a hot minute since I was here. And I apologize in advance to all of the indie artists who I am going to skip, because this is also a bit of a rush job. But here it is anyways!

Honorable Mentions:

I love trot videos. They have crazy guests, and make no sense, and have spectacular outfits and I love them for that.

Idol Roundup:

- Control by GHOST9: There is a really cool piano riff in this track that gets passed between different synths and virtual instruments throughout the track, which I love. Some of it reminds me of VIXX in the best way.

- Boyfriend by cignature: I fully expected to be underwhelmed by this, but I love it. The vibe is so chill, and it scratches an almost nostalgic itch for me that I didn’t even know I had. This is 100% going on the playlist.

- Okay by Truedy: She’s a great rapper, but the vibe was not what I was looking for today.

- Killing Me by Chungha: I love the vibe of it, and the vocal line has some really interesting lines that would be super fun to sing along to.

- Pirate by Everglow: The song is fine, but they gave the camera to a music show crew, so it is lowkey nauseating.

- Race by Bang Yongguk: There is a touch too much autotune for me, but it’s Bang Yongguk, so I will allow a lot. And the producing is on point, so that is a plus.

- Peaches by Kai: Some pretty visuals, but the song itself doesn’t do anything for me.

- Universe by NCT U: It’s a very SM track, in a good way. Clean and pushing the boundaries. As per usual with NCT tracks, it has a few too many ideas for me.

- Winter Falls by Stray Kids: Sad ballad that isn’t really a holiday track, despite the name

- Happy Death Day by Xdinary Heroes: Cool track, with some grungy vibes. Not as strong of a debut song as many of JYP’s previous acts (frankly it is nowhere near S tier in that lineup)

- Star by ONEWE: It’s fine I guess, just too ballady for a band track for me.

- I’m a B by Hwasa: Solid, as I would expect from her. Not for me, also as I’ve come to expect from her.

- Like A King by Jinjin, Superbee and myunDo: I like 2 of the 3 rappers on this, but the beat is doing nothing for me.

- Eleven by IVE: I like the intro, but not as much the chorus. It is a fun track for a young group.

- Rolling Rolling by LUCY: I still don’t get LUCY, nothing about their music works for me. I’m always bored halfway through. Good for you if you like it, I’m glad they keep putting it out.

- Ani by Ravi ft. Soyeon: Underwhelming, but I do like the beat being something that is different for rap.

- Beautiful Night by Hi-L: Feels like a low budget debut, which is probably is.

- Unthinkable by FT Island: This song is fucking depressing. It sounds beautiful, because Lee Hongi, but damn is it sad. I will have to go through the rest of the album to see if any of the b-sides are something I’m excited about.

Universe Songs Full Release: So apparently, universe decided to let the rest of us listen to these songs finally. So here’s a short review (it also takes some of these idol songs and breaks them up).

- Kiss or Death by Monsta X: I love Monsta X, but this is doing nothing for me.

- Let Me In by WJSN: See above comment

- Tesseract by CIX: Not enough to make me a fan of the group. The rock production in the chorus is cool tho.

- Starry Night by WEi: I think I would like this more from an older more experienced group.

- Drink It by The Boyz: If you already like The Boyz, I’m sure you will like this track too.

- D D Dance by IZ*ONE: Good to know that IZ*ONE still doesn’t do it for me.

- Call U Up by Park Ji Hoon: I guess it’s fine, but it is not new, and I don’t particularly like the material they are throwing back to.

Christmas/Holiday Songs (It’s back baby!!!!):

- Christmas is You by Lunarsolar: Cute girl group track mixed with Mariah Carey instrumentation. Underwhelming but festive.

- Everyday Christmas by Davichi: I promise you have heard the sound of this song before. You may even be able to predict it. Gotta love cookie cutter holiday.

- Merry Merry Christmas Day by 2 companies: It’s an idol company song, except that it is ACTORS!!!!! And it took me a hot minute to realize, and I completely change my mind, I love it. Also, Seo In Guk is there, so enjoy that!

- Christmas EveL by Stray Kids: This is strange . . . at least it’s different?

- All I Want by Hellovenus, Astro and Weki Meki: THIS IS ALL I HAVE BEEN WANTING!!! Uncomfortable smiles, lack of interaction, and cookie cutter sounds. This is the Christmas song we deserve, nay need! It even has them all in one room looking awkward at one point. It is perfection.

- See you here next winter by Antenna Music: At least Sam Kim is there. This is a ballad to the max, and has the weird af interactions, so it has that going for it.

While there are some great tracks up there, the winner was pretty well decided when I saw his name on the list. Gaho is back with a pair of tracks. Right Now is dramatic and impressive and everything you have come to expect from Gaho. The instrumentation is so well done, and matches with his voice beautifully. Part Time Lover is on the complete opposite end of the spectrum for him. It is groovy and pop-y in a way that only sometimes does. And it shows off his vocals just as well as the first track. He wins with the pair, though each alone would honestly win too.

in the recent Night Night show they did Eunwoo said that if he could pick roommates again, he’d still pick Bin

Smdh we all know what habituation is it’s bc he smells Eunwoo too much Eunwoo doesn’t have a specific smell anymore
