Another bg3 thought dump but I've been thinking about this all day. I think a big part of why I love the Boat Scene in Gale's romance (or at least the version I've played), and really Gale's Romance in general, is bc there's so much potential for nuance.

My Tav, Zephyr, isn't particularly faithful to any one god or the gods in general (though she does enjoy studying faerunian theology), and so in theory she's not against opposing and maybe even deposing Mystra. But she knows that many of the "gods" of the modern era were once mortals, and until the cycle can be broken she doesn't want anyone, least of all someone she cares about, to take that risk and lose themself.

When I first got to the Boat Scene, I couldn't help the feeling of dread I got bc I was sure Gale and Zephyr were about to break up. Bc I knew how strongly Gale wanted this and for (mostly) the right reasons, but I also knew Zephyr wasn't going to budge. And I feel like in many games, that would be that; characters disagree, they break up. Even though Zephyr would be against it for Gale's sake, bc she loves who he is, not who he could be.

But the dialogue is so interesting bc it actually lets them argue about it, while also giving the player to stay with him anyway.

"This doesn't have to be the end for us."

"But I could be so much more to you."

Now true source of Gale motivation is revealed. He feels like he's not enough. Which allows Zephyr to reiterate that he is, and they stay together and even grow closer!

It just makes both characters feel very real to me, and I appreciate that they can talk and argue until they get deeper and deeper into why the other one feels this way. It's almost like how couples actually are in real life!

8. Nigredo - The Sidh // It's techno and bagpipes, what's not to love. Also the title means alchemical decay which I think is dope as fuck. This whole album rules too I recommend it.

9. By the sound - Caskets // Some of the lyrics for this one literally make zero sense but also some other lyrics hit like a fucking truck there's no in between. "When you wake up, don't waste your heart in mourning me" kills me

10. Dreamstate - Dayseeker // Another dayseeker song that destroys me <3 "And maybe when the night comes I'll find you in another world" also kills me

i think about lando's editing style so much despite the fact that idt he edits videos anymore afaik

i was going to put this in the tags but it kept ticking me off that i was continously hitting the character limit so its here now \o/

tbh the main reason i'm so endeared to lando's editing style (read: his editing style from ~5 yrs ago that i have been referring and will continue to refer to as his editing style even if it isn't a current one) is that i go "Oh i've 100% made that Exact same editing choice to make that Exact same joke before." eg: there's a specific lando log from 6yrs ago i saw recently bc it appeared before me on my yt home page &. god. man i am hopelessly endeared. for i too would do the master chef intro interlaid w/ hard cut clips of me failing to cook

another eg: ok maybe i shouldn't admit that i've watched the 2019 rookie of the year video way too much specifically just to giggle at lando's edited video but uh. yeah. heart emoji. in my mind there's a lot to dissect between the default title card + background music that immediately starts off the video and the pink sparkle w/ default cursive font on all the transition cards as well as the explosions + airhorns + self referencing. between these two examples there's a lot of snappiness made w/ all the hard cuts. the editing is amateur but from personal experience it's not easy to time everything properly so there's obviously not a lack of thought either, and it didn't rly hit enough w/ alex and george but it hit for me plenty and this is what counts. it's a bit short and the humor probably doesn't hit the same for people who haven't watched like ten mil videos fuckin sue me tho (dont) i liked it

at the end of the day it's less about the editing, more about the insight it gives into lando. but fuck it i'm not a psychologist i'm here to giggle. and i did. tldr i think people with wit and humor are hot, this is my thesis forever

hi!!!! so let me just be really frank you with -- i'm doing this for free! and i have two (2!!) days off a week, and i have to make certain content last longer so i HAVE clips to post. for free!!!!! to me, as jin is my ult bias, i don't even care if i watch him put face cream on four days in a row -- i'm just happy to see his face and i love and miss him so so much!!!!!!!

Aha, I'm less in the know than you think!! But I can assure you there IS a new trigun, trigun stampede, a reboot which seems to have different takes on some of the characters and themes!! I've not seen it yet and don't plan to for a while (I'm trying very hard to be kind to my brain and at least let the og settle in my head as I read the manga), but what I've heard sounds super cool!!
