what if there was a comic that was, on the surface, a very poorly written and made warrior cats comic about one-note characters that leaned heavily into tropes (wc and general ones) all drawn in ms paint, but around 50-60 pages the narrative is shifted wildly off course as instead of the main character meeting the love interest at their first gathering, they instead fuck off and befriend a background cat who was never supposed to fully exist instead. this causes a domino effect of things to happen- like characters forming different relationships than what were planned and personalities developing differently. more and more drastic measures are made by 'starclan' to course correct- until one of their messengers misinterprets their sign and messes up things permanently, causing the two to be aware that none of their world is actually real. though there were plenty of signs beforehand- it was just that one last thing that confirmed it for good.
would that be fucked up or what?
#[cherry on top]#[cats everywhere]#does that synopsis make sense? im hoping it makes sense. hopefully. hm.#anyways. i remembered an idea i got back in dec 2021 and kicked out this in an hour or two#not even into wc that much anymore! i just like developing concepts lol#third image is a bunch of character concepts cus in the original idea doc i only developed goldenpaw and spotpaw#from left to right:#icicleclaw- the tigerclaw replacement lol. was supposed to be the big baddie of the story#overshadowed later by literally all the bullshit that happens which i think is funny#jaggedpaw- brother of goldenpaw and the stereotypical bully. would eventually stand up 4 golden in the climax methinks.#n/a- the 'greystripe' to goldenpaw. starts drifting away from goldenpaw after a bit.#eventually betrays him due to 'starclan's wishes + orders and to follow her mentor (yellowhaze)#streamheart- the love interest. starts developing an actual personality after she doesnt meet goldenpaw lol#peltstar- the leader of the clan spotpaw is in (the mainly irrelevant clan in the story)#flamestar- leader of goldenpaws clan. obvs just a firestar ripoff!!! hes just a nice guy ig.#nearly has a heart attack later in the story due to. things that happen.#darkpaw- son of evil leader in the evil clan equiv. possibly temp. exiled + given the scar to 'toughen him up'#i had the idea of them and streamheart being besties in his exile...#yellowhaze- yellowfang adjacent. is the one who misinterprets the sign.#well technically he didnt misinterpret it at first. he just jumped to the wrong conclusion after goldenpaw jumped in.#theres something wrong with him <3 failboy medicine cat.#also addendum. i dont actually plan on like. actually doing this comic.#it WOULD be cool to do but like. im an idea guy not an actual product guy. T.T''#dont have a long enough attention span or will to go through with a whole comic. unfortunately.

WCTober Day 1: Warrior
Prompt by @harriertail
Briarpaw dragged herself out of the medicine den, blinking at the harsh midday sun that filled the clearing. Firestar had called a meeting, and there was a warmth under her pelt, knowing exactly what the meeting was for. The Clan was gathered in a semi-circle around Firestar, who stood just past the shadow of Highledge, with a part closest to her; allowing her an easy passage to the leader. Bumblepaw and Blossompaw stood in front of Firestar, Blossompaw was gazing up at him, her tailtip twitching with excitement. Or impatience. Briarpaw couldn't help but worry that the Clan was already tired of waiting for her. Bumblepaw broke away from where he stood upon seeing her, quickly running over to nuzzle her.
"Let me help you Briarpaw! We're going to be warriors!" He exclaimed, trying to nudge her forward. She felt herself slip slightly, feeling unbalanced from the force of his shove. She bit back a retort, Jayfeather's been training me well in snappy comments, frustrated with how eager her brother was to help. Despite her hindlegs trailing behind her, she could feel the power of her muscles moving beneath her shoulders.
With a sudden burst of energy, she pulled ahead of him slightly, to make her way beside Blossompaw. As she glanced around the clearing, Briarpaw spotted her mother, Millie, standing next to Greystripe. Grief clouded Millie's gaze, which in turn hardened Briarpaw's gaze. She will NOT ruin this moment for me.
"I call upon our warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice, and bless her throughout the life she will lead." Firestar began, flicking his gaze upwards towards the cloudless sky, before directing his warm look at Briarpaw. "She has experienced an incredibly difficult start to her life, and she has chosen to face this experience head on, with a bright smile." Briarpaw licked her chest self-consciously. Yes, her path had changed from what she initially hoped for herself, but at least she was still receiving her warrior name. At least she was still alive. Unlike Longtail. "Her courage and happiness serves as a reminder for all of us to remain strong. She brings a light into the camp, and we would be thrown into darkness without her. For these reasons, she will now be known as Briarlight." Firestar finished his speech.
Blossompaw and Bumblepaw were the first to call her name, too excited to wait for their ceremonies to finish before celebrating her. The rest of the Clan joined in swiftly, "Briarlight! Briarlight!"
Jayfeather was sitting outside the medicine den, tail wrapped neatly around his paws. He was calling her new name with such pride and affection in his voice, that it shocked her. Thank you Jayfeather, for being my best friend while I healed.
The Clan quieted down while Bumblepaw and Blossompaw received their names, but all Briarlight could think was an overwhelming happiness to finally be a warrior.

Au idea where Ashfur is the cat chosen for the sundrown patrol, and that changes his entire arc, to where he never goes evil. (He and Squirrel never get together either, but he never goes incel either.) Thoughts? How do you think this would affect Bramble?
So no Bramble POV? Hey, remember how bramblestars arc was about his connection to tigerstar? Remember how both ashfurs parents were killed by tigerstar? I don’t think you can stop Ashfur turning.
So Ashfur gets the dream from Bluestar to travel to the sun-drown-place, why? Because. He meets with the other cats who helped to kill Bone Tawnypelt, Stormfur, and Feathertail, so they already know each other, with Crowpaw, and Squirrel, who tags along becoz she’s Firestar’s daughter and is bored! Midnight and Moonrise go as normal, with Ashfur determined to prove himself as a warrior and help his Clan- thinking of himself as aligned with Firestar and the Good of ThunderClan. We get to the lake, and there’s no Greystripe. Well. We need a deputy. Ashfur is friendly, and crushing on Squirrelflight, who likes him back but isn’t ready to commit just yet, that’s fine- she’ll come around when she realises how Good and True Ashfur is. Ashfur’s a good warrior- trying his hardest to prove himself to Firestar. He starts to want deputyship. He’s got an apprentice already. He’s chosen by StarClan. Brambleclaw, who’s the grouchy type we know him as in TNP, is also rumoured to be chasing deputyship as well. But how is that fair if he gets it? Tigerstar ruined ThunderClan- Tigerstar killed Ashfur’s parents- and Tigerstar’s kin is going to be deputy? That’s not fair. He’s evil. The whole of ThunderClan knows he’s evil, it’s in his blood. Ashfur and Brambleclaw find themselves in direct competition for deputyship, and Squirrelflight. So Ashfur steps up. He does every patrol, every hunting mission, neglects his friends, neglects his future mate, to prove himself to his leader.
Firestar bleeds out on the lakeshore. A RiverClan cat is dead. Brambleclaw is made deputy while his pelt is still drying. Squirrelflight goes to him. How, how?, did the cat chosen by StarClan, blessed by Bluestar, aligned with Firestar, lose? It’s not fair. It’s never fair. He did all that work, all those miles to the sea front, all the trekking and bleeding and hurting, and you didn’t win. Evil wins. Better luck next time kid, have you learnt you lesson yet?

I think that Warriors needs to write more Single-Protagonist arcs, not just because "The other protagonists aren't nearly as interesting/well written" (Although that is included), but because it gives us a sense of loneliness for our protagonist
Think about it: When reading Into the Wild and generally just TPB, how lonely did it feel when reading through FireStar's pov? How often did it feel like the world was against him, even if he had his friends and allies. GreyStripe leaving for Riverclan, RavenPaw escaping to the barn, his close mentor was losing herself and going down a spiral of depression; casting him out from her life, Princess is divided from him due to political law by the Clans, YellowFang dying, everyone in Thunderclan looking down on him for being a Kittypet. Sure, he had support, but that support wasn't always with him through one reason or another. It's why it felt so rewarding when in the end, he succeeded (Even if that success was questionably written with its messages), because despite being alone, despite having very little support, he managed to break through and become so great.
TPB wouldn't work if we just shoe-horned in GreyStripe pov chapters, or had more main protagonists alongside FireStar. What made TPB so special, in my opinion, was that FireStar was alone.
So why not have the same go for ShadowSight? Or FrostPaw? Two characters who would have their arcs greatly benefit from being the singular protagonists of their respective arcs, it would have hit harder to have these two characters truly feel alone and scared in the world if they had just been the only main characters, make their situations seem uncertain to get better due to a lack of support.

Longtail is my favorite character. I love his character arc, how he acts as a narrative foil to Firestar, and how he starts out as a jerkass but grows to have a backbone, shows himself to be a loyal warrior with a heart of gold where it counts, rejects Tigerstar when lines in the sand have been crossed despite how much he once looked up to him, and eventually grows to be very loyal to Firestar. I wish people talked more about the scene where he saves Fire when Tiger tries to drown him even though they’re not at all on friendly terms yet. Also his mentor-apprentice relationship with Swiftpaw tears me apart but I live for all the fan content that shows their bond and how much regret he has to live with after Swiftpaw’s death.
To this day I have so many gripes with what happened to my boy post-TPB.
If there is a non-death equivalent of TV Tropes’ “Too Cool To Live,” Longtail is basically that. He had to be written out because if he weren’t forcibly removed from the action, then he would be the obvious choice to become deputy during Greystripe’s absence in TNP (and arguably should have been chosen over Greystripe in the first place; I do like Grey but he was not particularly loyal nor responsible in his youth). Longtail was still relatively young, healthy and fit, loyal, experienced, passionate. You cannot convince me that he wasn’t dealt a career-ending injury solely because the plot demanded Brambeclaw become deputy by the end of TNP.
I don’t think Longstar would have ever been realistic to expect because he’s not a central enough character and not related to Fire/Tiger, and because he would have been fairly old for a clan cat by the time of Firestar’s death, but maybe he could have held out as deputy till the end of TNP or even early PO3 and been given a cooler and more memorable death than what he got. But more on that later.
We all know how badly this series shafts its disabled characters. Maybe this is trivial to some, but I really hate the retcon about his blindness. When his vision started failing of natural causes, it was still frustrating for the reasons above but it at least seemed like he made a voluntary choice to retire early. He maintained a degree of agency, and he made his own decision under the circumstances rather than having it taken from him by the narrative. Having him get blinded by a rabbit of all things just feels like a cheap shot to move the plot along. If he were going to have a freak accident, at least make it less stupid than an experienced warrior getting his eyes scratched out by a prey animal.
Not that any of them are handled *well* by any means, but we have roughly this same character arc with so many other characters who are given more depth in coming to terms with a permanent disability or disfigurement and having it alter the course of their lives (Cinderpelt, Brightheart, later on Briarlight…) that we didn’t need this one to happen to prove any kind of point or to say something too much different than any of those other instances.
The silver lining of Longtail’s injury is that it allows us to see more of his friendship with Mousefur than we would have gotten if either of them had died younger, and/or if they had faded to being background characters in the ever-growing ThunderClan roster. I really adore their dynamic. I headcanon them as aroace besties (iirc though this is basically canon for at least Mousefur). I find it so lovely and refreshing that a m/f pair of characters, and ones who are mostly very likable at that, can have a platonic relationship with so much care for each other without it eventually going down the marriage-and-children path that most m/f relationships eventually do in this series.
However.
Longtail’s death, and Mousefur’s role in it, are possibly even more frustrating and narratively awful than even the accident that caused his blindness.
Having him go out in such a cheap and easily preventable way felt like such a fucking slap in the face to these beloved characters who have been around from the very beginning of the series. Longtail had his whole life redefined and turned upside down by one random, frustrating freak accident involving prey and he ultimately lost his life to another one. Mousefur’s character was mishandled so grossly here, and a cat who is usually pretty sensible and grounded lost her best friend because she couldn’t let one (1) mouse go in a moment of what I have to assume is senility.
I am at least glad the two got a proper send-off in the Great Battle, with them getting to reunite on-screen and his spirit guiding her to Starclan after she fell in battle. It doesn’t quite make up for everything else given that Longtail had so much unused potential while alive, but it all would have been so, so much more upsetting if they weren’t given at least that much to close their chapters.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk about Longtail. He is so dear to my heart and deserved so much better than most of what he got.

Firestar redesign! with every design i draw for him he gets shorter and chubbier
Prev. designs: 1 l 2
[Image ID: A digital drawing of Firestar from Warrior Cats. He is standing with his right side facing us, he is smiling with a calm, happy expression on his face. He is a fluffy long furred, round and chubby orange tom. He has dark reddish orange along the top of his back, head and the beginning of his tail, which is layered on top of orange, his stomach, neck and the lower half of his face is yellow, these colors all layer on top of each other in a fire like pattern. He has white on his muzzle, the very tip of his tail, the tips of his paws, at the bottom of his chest forming a large heart, and in the middle of his chest in a small diamond shape. His eyes are green and his inner ears and nose are light pink./End ID]
Here's some info about him in my au! v
Character wise I imagine him being a very emotional person, especially when he’s happy, he will just bawl his eyes out over anything joyous. If you tell him a funny joke he will start to cry from laughter.
He of course also cries a lot when he’s sad, or even really angry! This did not help him when he was young because his clanmates thought of him as a crybaby kittypet, but over time he proved himself and proved that that wasn't a weakness.
Over time he learned how to control his emotions more and be more “calm” when doing leader duties, such as going to gatherings or commanding the clan in hard times. But after an especially hard time of keeping a straight face for the clan he will go snuggle up with his mates and cry his eyes out for a bit.
Speaking of his mates! He is bi and polyamorous! He is of course mates with his lovely wife and deputy Sandstorm, and he is also mates with Longtail! They started bonding and getting close after Swiftpaw’s death and became mates a bit after Sand and Fire got together. He had a crush on Greystripe for a LONG while and he was extremally hurt by him leaving for Riverclan and just him overall not caring about Fire and his warrior duties when he was courting Silverstream. I think that Grey had feelings for Fire too but he lost is chance after all that and Fire decided they were best off being best friends.
He did NOT have a crush on Spottedleaf and she most certainly did not have feelings for him!!! They were close however and Spotted viewed him as a little brother, she felt determined to protect and help Fire after receiving the prophecy. Also he came around right when her brother Redtail died, and I like the idea that Red sent her a message from the afterlife to help and support Fire.
Also! he has an extremally strong connection to Starclan, and he passes that connection down to his children and their kin to varying degrees. Spottedleaf almost asked him if he wanted to train to be a Med cat seeing how strong his connection to Starclan is, but she knew that was not his fate, and she could see that he enjoyed his training and was determined to be a warrior.

I'll start over lol, legacy naming can be fine if done well but i don't think it has. Hollytuft + Sibs appeared to us as adults so we don't get to know about them. Cinderheart was cute until we had the whole "shes actually cinderpelt lmao" moment. The two Mouses and Leafs just had no excuse to be there. And if I was Ivypool and my kid died I would NOT want some random cat immediately naming their daughter after her. Isn't that kind of traumatizing? I got rid of all legacy namings that occur -
in cats younger than Holly in my AVOS/TBC allegiances and in my rewriting exercise I'm making Sparkpaw just be really obsessed with being Firestar's kin so her eventual naming of Flamekit makes a bit more sense. At least I can excuse 4 Robinwings to the Erin's forgetting they all existing(not a valid excuse tho imo), having two Frecklewishes is just insane. Was literally nothing else an option? Frecklesong, Freckletuft, Frecklemint? I've also noticed stuff from the beginning like having a semi - prominent Ashfur in Into The Wild's ShadowClan then immediately having Ashkit/(fur) in Fire and Ice's ThunderClan. At the very least, literary-wise, it feels like too much repeating too quickly. I'm not against two Bobs existing at the same time but still…I've actually put down a good fic because they named literally everyone in TC after a dead cat and I got annoyed lol. Names were like, Ferndust Bluestorm Frostheart etc
TV Tropes has a trope relevant to this: One-Steve Limit. While it's very common for people to share names in the real world, in fiction it's avoided to make things easier on your readers/viewers and prevent repetitiveness. The point of not sharing names is for each character to stand out on their own; often when there are multiples of one name (for example, Heather in "Heathers"), there's a reason to it, usually to mock the hivemind-nature of the characters or establish a theme of putting people in boxes they can't escape from (such as in Steven Universe where every gem of one type shares the same name and remains stuck in one role for their entire existence).
In the case of Warriors, I feel that "rule" rings truest. To be entirely fair to the writers, they have hundreds of characters to name, most of them never even showing up in the books beyond being mentioned in the allegiances. A prefix or suffix is going to appear multiple times - that's just unavoidable, especially if you have rules in place for what names are allowed that limits your options. I can't blame them for that issue coming up a few times accidentally.
What I can blame them for is deliberately using names that have important characters attached to them barely a generation later. In a setting where you have to keep track of every name, even as a reader, it's going to cause nothing but trouble if Greystripe dies and in the next book there's a Greykit in the very same Clan. It creates a constant stream of Grey-, which can accidentally confuse readers, or at the very least trip them up for a few seconds - something you DO NOT want in a story, especially one aimed at kids, where things need to be clear and concise.

Clan jobs!
Unlike in canon, all the warriors are human in this au and require more jobs than just hunting. Each warrior has a second job to do when they aren't preforming their warrior duties. Apprentices select their jobs after they are done with warrior training. They are trained by other warriors to do these jobs in a less formal manner. He's some examples from the first series
Trademaster-In charge of keeping track of trade between clans and tallying clan supplies (Bluestar and Whitestorm
Blacksmith- makes anything that requires metal and makes weapons (Smallear, Cloudtail, Brambleclaw)
Den keeper- in charge of managing the public clan areas like the clan hall and sorting out conflicts between warriors (Speckletail and Ferncloud)
Leatherworker- makes leather and fixes everyone's armor (Tigerclaw, Longtail, Brightheart)
Monster Hunter- in charge of making sure monsters don't endanger the rest of the clan and organizing monster hunts (Redtail, Runningwind, Darkstripe, Sandstorm, Thornclaw)
Tailor- weaves and dyes cloth, makes and fixes clothes (Goldenflower and Firestar)
Carpentry- builds with wood and builds/fixes houses (Mousefur, Dustpelt, Brackenfur, )
Farmers-takes care of all the horses, pigs, chickens, goats and sheep (Ashfur, Dappletail, Lionheart, one-eye)
Cooking- cooks for the whole clan with the occasional assistance of warriors pulled into the kitchen (Willowpelt, Brindleface, Greystripe)

what’s ravenpaw like in this rewrite 👀
Unfortunately, Ravenpaw still has to leave since ol' tiger is still a murderer, but things do differ!
This got really long and sort of dramatic, so more under the cut
Firstly, he has a sister, Cherrypaw. She dies in the same fight that Tigerclaw came back from with Redtail's body. He also carries her back. Importantly, he did Not kill her, but Ravenpaw was in such shock afterwards that he thought he did. She is brought up repeatedly by Ravenpaw and the other apprentices, she was the bold optimism to Ravenpaw's anxious worry.
Ravenpaw leaves similarly to the books, but unlike the books, they actually hold vigil for him. They see him from time to time, particularly for more details on redtail's death, but in Book 8 a gang of rogues take over the barn to try re-create the more murdery side of bloodclan, so Raven, Barley, Fire, and Scourge (Ice at that point) team up to chase them off.
He also has vitligo. So there's not much white on his fur when he first shows up, but by the time the clans leave the territories, there's far more of it.
They say their goodbyes to him when their leaving for the mountains, and Firestar promises he'll come and visit if he's in the area, and asks him to direct Greystripe to the mountains if he appears, as Grey still gets captured in this.
However, when Greystripe arrives, Ravenpaw is dying. And Greystripe knows it, because he grew up with Raven, and Cherry, and Chestnutkit, the third littermate who died in the greencough epidemic just before the first book. Anyway, Grey and Millie stay at the barn for a while, postponing their return to the clans to keep an old friend company as he slowly worsens from an unknown illness that even the twolegs can't fix. Liver cancer, to be specific, but the cats don't know that.
Raven and Barley are mates, and he always wanted kits, despite his anxious demenor he was fantastic with them, and he wanted to help more cats like him, that had to run away from a group or cat. But, he knows he won't get to, as he's laid in his death bed and fed by his old friend and his mate, both of whom know he won't recover. He feels himself slipping, so he asks Greystripe to do one thing: give him a warrior name.
Now, greystripe is not deputy at any point in this rewrite, and even if he was, he wouldn't have clearance for such a ceremony normally. But this is a dying apprentice ceremony, and so, Greystripe asks what he wants to be called. He picks Ravenfern, after the ferns his sister used to wear in her fur and play in so often when they were kits. Greystripe agrees, and performs the ceremony as best he knows how. Ravenfern passes less than a half hour later.
Barley is, of course, very upset by this, but he's gone through a lot, and he knows Ravenfern would want him to carry on. And so, he sends Greystripe and Millie on their way to the lake territories, and opens up the barn as a refuge for any cat who needs it. And its a massive success, having dozens of cats pass through the barn every cycle (year) and even having some cats be born there.
In particular, one queen passes through, with a litter of three following weakly behind her. He feeds them, as he does with every cat, the healthy cats currently passing through help out with the kits as well. But the queen admits she cannot raise them, she didn't mean to have them and her twolegs would not allow them to stay with her, so she gives them to Barley. They don't look much like him, nor Raven, one cream and two blues, but he raises them as his own, telling them tales of the wild cats who lived there, and the fantastic tom he fell in love with.
Eventually, a long, long time later, the clans pass back through, having to find yet another territory. Firestar is dead, and most living cats may not even remember Ravenpaw and Barley, and yet Brackenstar takes the time to drop by on the way, and checks on Barley and his three kits. Lola, Sadie, and Bread. The clans were already aware of Ravenfern's passing and new name, as Greystripe announced it at the gathering he returned to, but Sandstorm is still saddened to not see her friend. They weren't close, but they were nurserymates.
Lola and Bread end up continuing Barley and Raven's legacy once Barley passes, but Sadie leaves to join Bloodclan, who replace Skyclan in this rewrite and are being brought back to the new-new territories by Alderheart.
Oh, and barley plants a bunch of ferns around the edges of the barn in memory of him. He may have died young, but his legacy never stops.
(When firestar learns of Ravenfern's passinng, he holds an all-night vigil with Sand, Dust, and Grey. The first vigil wasn't real, but this one is. He knows the vigil is moons too late, but he hopes his friend found the way to Starclan easy enough)
Sorry for the slightly story-esque drama ramble, but yeah, thats what happens with him.

I'm on book 2 of Warriors, Fire and Ice, left off on ch. 18.
The brief moments we've gotten of Fireheart meeting his sister, Princess again and sneaking off to visit her; Sharing memories of her when they were kits and washing off her scent when he returns to Thunderclan. Thinking of how these are such happy moments for him, so much so that he feels confused and almost torn in his duties and loyalties to Thunderclan. Coupled with the resentment, bitterness and anger towards some of the cats within the clan who view him as beneath them for having been born a "kittypet."
And I just. Okay, where are my shipcest shippers at!! I haven't really been active in the fandom yet because I want to avoid spoilers (though I do more or less know what happens between them later. Lol).
And anyways, does this ship have a name? I tried looking it up, but didn't really find anything. If it does not have a ship name, how about Fireprincess? I think it sounds cute and is perfect because if I'm not mistaken Fireheart's name changes again later on to Firestar.
Anyways, Greystripe has the storyline I would have loved to see for Fireheart and Princess. LOL. I want to see the drama and more confusion of Fireheart having to be angry and defend himself seeing his sister who is a non clan member and worse for Thunderclan a "kittypet." I want more drama and angst of Fireheart having to choose where he would rather be - Thunderclan who accepted him, despite some of the cats attitudes and those he has come to care for or his sister who he just found and connected to again. Princess who is so kind and gentle and loves him for who he is. Warrior, Kittypet, it doesn't matter.
I don't know how it would work with the current storyline though - Bluestar being on her last life, Fireheart's apprentice in bad shape, Tigerclaw's shady character, Shadowclan and Riverclan's plots, Greystrip seeing a riverclan warrior. So much stuff happening. Lol.
I just want to see a fic that just focuses on that drama I mentioned regarding Fireheart and Princess. As for the actual shipcest. I'm not far enough into the series so I also don't know how the clans and kittypets would view a brother/sister relationship that is more than just sibling love. But for, sure I am all for the forbidden romance trope it could bring! Adds to the drama and angst!
It could make it even more better if imagine an au, where for his sister, Fireheart decides to leave Thunderclan no matter how grateful and how much he has come to love some of its members. I can see Bluestar respecting his wishes because she's a very wise and patient leader. Idk how Greystripe would react, guess it depends if his own love plot is still in this au. Lol.
But anyways, Fireheart decides to leave and imagine him starting his own clan made solely of kittypets. The ones he grew up with. Maybe like a best of both worlds scenarios. The kittypets can still live with and enjoy their two legs, but also have their own territory close to the two legs they guard and patrol. So they can be somewhat wild, but still have the comforts of a kittypet life. Idk how feasible this scenario would be, but I just think it's fun to think about. Especially, if Fireheart and Princess are sort of the "queen" and "king" of the clan and can eventually and finally be free to fully love each other and share a life together.
Idk what any of this is. I have lot of thoughts. Lol. I would love to hear everyone else's thoughts. Though, I would be thankful if spoilers could be kept to a minimum if possible cause I want to try and avoid spoilers as much as possible! I just had to make this post cause Fireheart x Princess (FirePrincess if it truly has no ship name) sounds like a cute ship xD

because absolutely NOBODY asked, here’s a list of my top ten favourite warriors characters (SO FAR)
a lot of you are gonna hate me for not including/including certain characters tbh but this is just my opinion
Disclaimer: I’m on Book 1 of Power of Three currently, so these characters are mostly comprised of those from TBP and TNP. i’ll probably make an updated list at some point in the future, but for now this is how it stands:
#10–Longtail. He’s just a good guy tbh. From being a meanie at the start, to choosing not to leave Thunderclan with Dark and Tiger, to being forced into early retirement but taking it like a champ, this guy has just come to be one of my favourite cattos in the series.
#9–Mousefur. The icon, the legend. She’s literally unfiltered and completely rude to everyone without even giving a shit. She’s shown to be very opinionated and headstrong, but also displays a caring side when it comes to Longtail’s blindness. 10/10 character for me.
#8—Ravenpaw. Is there anyone out there who actually dislikes this guy? I genuinely think he is the most chill cinnamon roll ever. He just wants to vibe with his husband in a barn and maybe warn firestar about important stuff sometimes. Even tho he’s a loner, he respects the warrior code and understands the clan ways. He’s just so awesome and i love him.
#7—Stonefur. Yeah yeah i know we only really knew him for a few books, but I just really liked his character. He was really brave and noble, loyal to his clan, generally a good guy. His death was so sad and honestly just the fact that he went down fighting made me respect him even more.
#6—Sorreltail. Omg idk why i like her so much. Just when she was a new warrior and was best buddies with Leafpool made me so happy, and then for her to become mates with Brackenfur (more on him later—) was just a very good ship for me. I just think Sorreltail is cool and generally a nice cat.
#5—Dustpelt. The biggest G in the entire clan. Honestly Dustyboi is so awesome and i love him so much. Like at first i really didn’t like him, what with the way he was rude to Fire and generally an unpleasant guy, but he got so much better and now i stan him.
#4—Tallstar. OK ALRIGHT SETTLE DOWN, hear me out. Reason number one why i love him is that he’s gay and cute with Jake and we love that for him. Reason number two is that he’s actually a decent guy and isn’t passive aggressive and weird like the other leaders are, he just wants to vibe on with his clan and be chill with everyone. Idk i grew very attached to Tallstar throughout the first two series.
#3—Brackenfur. AHHHH where to start with Brackenfur. He’s just an amazing guy honestly. Like he’s chill, gets along with everyone, but also very brave and noble in the sense that he would literally die for his clan. I usually get very attached to the vanilla side characters who have no real plotlines so this is very expected of me, i just really love brackenfur and his character.
#2—Cinderpelt. Not a DAY GOES BY where i don’t cry over her tragic death and the mountains of wasted potential. Fricking Starclan really had to reincarnate her? What was the point of killing her? Ik it probably had something to do with Leafpool being ✨ special ✨ and the only medicine cat, but come on man. Just look at cinder. Look at how cool and awesome she is.
AAAAND COMING IN AT NUMBER ONE ISSSSS *drumroll intensifies*
#1—The most amazing cat ever to be seen, my guy WHITESTORM!!! Honestly come at me for not putting greystripe or squilf in here, idc. Whitestorm for me is an example of what a warrior cat SHOULD be. He was smart, brave, loyal, trustworthy, chill…he literally had no flaws. Like what did man ever do that was controversial? I cant think of anything, i mean correct me if i’m wrong. I just stan Whitestorm and wish he’d been leader istg.
Thanks for reading this ridiculously long rant lol

hi im a greystripe lover/hater and im here to talk about greystripe. i think his loyalty issues are so much more nuanced than him just being flakey due to the fact, time and time again, he's only ever been loyal to firestar.
when his loyalty was first tested by him going to riverclan the thing that bought him back was the idea of hurting fireheart. when firestar dies and squilf is running things with the imposter floating around, greystripe doesnt feel anymore sway of thunderclan and leaves.
i think greystripe isnt loyal to anyone But firestar. i also think if the books realised this and actually made it canon he was a neglectful father and bad friend he'd be an actually Good character. with all the things he's gone through in his life it makes sense he's not going to be a 100% loyal warrior unswayed by the horrors. when he looks at his second litter he should only see feather and storm, and when briarpaw is injured calling for him he wouldn't be the father she needs. and when blossomfall becomes a dark forest warrior he should be to blame, and firestar can't help him.
Big agree! There's nothing wrong in itself with Graystripe doing bad things or being flakey...it's just that it never impacts his relationships with others. He receives no warranted suspicion or pushback as deputy, both Feathertail and Stormfur are perfectly fine with him leaving twice (one on his own accord! man, i wonder if there's a plotline this arc where that situation can be compared :/). The entire Millie, Briar, and Blossom situation never calls into question Graystripe's role. His absence is never questioned, it never affects his children's perception of him and it SUCKS!
You're totally right, having his actions have consequences would make him a much more interesting character. I like when character's actions have consequences for their world and relationships around them! It makes things compelling to read!!

so I came up with an idea, just a silly little warrior cats au, what if their names were actually accurate?
(beware of AU lore dump!!!!!)
So as a kitten, their names are like,,,, whatever, it doesn’t really matter, then as apprentices they walk with their first prefix. For example Frostpaw would create frost with her every step. Or Firepaw would like…….
oh my god he would set the forest on fire
then when they get their second prefix, they fulfill their name! For example, Fireheart would have his fur around his heart ablaze. Also Bramblestar named Flamepaw Nightheart because his name sort of turned into a curse.
(wait does firestar get Magic Fire??? That doesn’t kill him?? •_•) if they become leader, it’s normal except they, idk, get a star on their pelt???
exclusive star cutiemarks for leaders???
Although these gifts can turn into curses.
Brightpaw was renamed Lostface after the dog incident. Her face becomes swathed in shadow, only too bright bulbs shining from the void. Once Firestar renames her as Brightheart, the curse goes away and.. her heart literally glows?!?!!?!!???
if you get sent to starclan, you can choose to remove the gift if you dislike it. In the Dark Forest, your gift turns into a curse whether you like it or not.
Tigerclaw/star would have huge claws that are easy to fumble on, that probably can’t actually hurt anyone. Mapleshade would have to be covered in darkness all the time, and also I thought it would be funny if she shedded like a tree?? Like she becomes hairless in winter??? 😭 (the others use her as a calendar) Ashfur would just have fur filled with ash that gets all up in his eyes and everywhere (though he never actually got sent to DF). Darktail’s tail would be an… anti-night light? and curlfeather would have tight feathers wrapped around her neck and limbs that are painful to move in. It is also possible to curse a living cat, just like what Brightheart faced. If a leader agrees with the power of StarClan on their side or multiple leaders agree, the name turns into a curse. I dunno, this is just a random idea.
poor greystripe, he gets nothin 😭

My silly little top tens
yeen rambles #10
stealing this idea from the wonderful @whitestorm4prez bc originality is dead!!!!!!!!!!
anyways ive only read the first arc but most of the major shit was spoiled for me on the internet.
#10 Thrushpelt. i love him!! he's such a nice guy. i feel really bad for him for his one-sided love of Bluestar. she missed out frfr. but even when Bluestar makes it super clear she doesnt like him, does he hold a grudge? no. does he resent her? no. what does he do? become her friend instead. amazing man.
#9 Darkstripe. i think he's both the most hilarious and fucking balling my eyes out sad villain ever at the same time. dude just got fucked over most of his life. i mean i find him sily because every time he tries something, it fails horribly. but at the same time, he's got fucking no-one. he's alone. no friends, nothing. the one guy he trusted with his life turns out to not even care about him at all. i mean seeing him scramble to revive what little there is left of tigerstars plan, seeing everyone leave him, him realising that nobody was truly on his side. his last moments preaching for a dead man who never cared for him. his life being over like that. he never did anything meaningful, and he died like that. im gonna write more abt this a some point but yea!!
#8 Tallstar. his character arc is one of the most heartwarming things ever. yes, he was a shitty leader, but do ya know what? he grew as a person. he changed and made himself better. i also think him and Jake r cute and i LOVE the headcannon that he thought fireheart was jake coming to save him and his clan.
#7 Bluestar. RIGHT OK. i know i say i hate her but by god how can i not like her at the same time???? i mean all her life was just horrible shit. and she stuck through it. i know she was a real bitch coming towards the end of her life, but she stayed, stone faced and understanding to most cats around her. tigerclaw was just the straw that broke the camel's back. but most of her life she was so awesome.
#6 Cloudtail. i think hes such a silly guy!!! he's a big hot-headed atheist!!! silly guy. him and brightheart are so cute together. and yea thats it literally hes just silly thats why i like him
#5 Longtail. I LOVE HIM SM OMGGG the fan service he gets is so good. but the most important thing is his character arc. from being a bully, but all round loyal cat, to desprately trying to prove his loyalty to firestar by any means possible. longtail thinks that firestar sees him as disloyal, but firestar proves him wrong, asking him to come on the journey with him the relationship between them is so nice to see.
#4 Greystripe. what a guy. hes amazing. he puts up with firheart way more than he should have to. i mean fire is a straight up dick to him alot of the time and he sticks with him like a loyal friend. i love him hehehe
#3 Ashfur. if u cant tell already, i like villains. i like Ashfur alot actually. cant help feeling bad for him. mans had a rough time. grew up without a mother, was practically ignored by his mentor, when he finally found someone who gave him a little attention who does undeniably treat him like her mate, she just turns around and goes "yeah no lol i was just w u to make brambleclaw jealous lmao." he was plunked right on his head and left alone with no-one to care about him. the only person who slightly cared about him was his sister, and she was too caught up in her own shit to help. its the sticky feeling you have knowing that if he were just cared for right, he could have turned out just fine. instead, he was neglected and left to become what he did.
#2 Hawkfrost. i love the fan service hawk gets honestly. im a huge fan of the artwork he gets. hes cool. i like the idea of him feeling the need to prove himself to his father. but yea hes just cool thats why i like him tbh.
#1 to absolutely no-ones surprise, my #1 fave warriors character, is SOL. hes so silly. but no fr, hes the funniest fucking villain ever. he sucks ass at being a fucking warrior and he comes accross the clans and is just like "yea yk what im gonna fuck with em." he literally gaslight gatekeep girlbosses all 4 of the clans and he actually gets away with it. i also just like his whole asthetic, and THE FUCKING FAN SERICE HE GETS???? HOLY SHIT ITS SO COOL. i swear you cant make Sol fanart look bad bc hes just so fuckin cool. silly little guy!!
