#kidsareweird department: So, after two bowls of blueberries and a 150 mililitres of milk, Baobao spontaneously shelved all the books she'd taken out after waking from her nap, then hauled out the wooden snowshoes from under the couch and piled them as you see in the photo. Then she pulled out one of her books and opened it to a page showing various foods, then pointed to the picture of a Swiss cheese. Note that she hasn't liked plain cheese in *months*. Nevertheless, I cut her a slice of 18 month old Beemster and handed it to her, thinking I'd eat when she turned her nose up. Instead, she gobbled down a half dozen *more* slices, before setting to work hauling kilogram boxes of coffee around the kitchen. Kids are weird

- i'm a barista and yesterday there was this young couple and their small child finishing up their order when the boy tries to drag the father away and is all "come sit with me dad this is paradise" and we're still cracking up

- my ma and sister and i were setting up pastries and whatnot as vendors at this prom/bridal thing when this little boy walks up like he belongs among the cheesecakes and icing and he snatches a cupcake, moans into a giant bite, and enthusiastically crosses himself and kisses his fist before pointing to the sky and walking away

- my baby cousin is his own half-aware, somewhat-disturbing story but once he was sitting on the end of the table at my grandma's eating i don't even know what on a spoon when he pops it out of his mouth with the straightest deadpanned poker face you've ever seen and squeals i mean deathshriekendofworldscream and looks around the room with that dumbass face and does. not. stop. and i shit you not i think i pulled something

- the monster child's older sweetheart sister was provoked into a staring contest with my stepdad one visit and every. time. they started her face would just drop. Like... dead face to the point it was kind of frightening like she had seen things you know SEEN THINGS and she would almost look like she was about to cry? Never once did she crack. She makes me sad sometimes.
