also that second to last scene with wilhelm finally yelling at kristina and ludvig was everything to me.... they have not been his parents a second in their entire lives they've been absent they've been neglectful they have forced him to hide his emotions and bottle it all up for 16 years they have not let him properly mourn his brother (the brother he's been looking up to the one person in his family he trusted the brother that as it turns out has been an awful person but that's a whole other conversation) they have forced him to make that damn statement and lie to the whole nation as well as deny him of the one relationship he cherished... they have ignored and dismissed his mental health for years despite knowing about his anxiety and panic attacks (meanwhile the queen gets to have a time off duty to deal with her breakdown??? which results in wille having more responsibilites?? responsibilities he didn't want to begin with???)... they have belittled him at every opportunity while bringing up their perfect firstborn son... i am so sick of them... i was genuinely thrilled seeing wille screaming at them and finally acknowledging all of the shitty ways they treated him... it was the most satisfying scene for me (also edvin's brilliant acting >>> like my jaw was on the floor)

(Discoloured splotches on the swatch sheet are courtesy of a can of soda getting knocked over during a catastrophic studio furniture incident. Thankfully there were no other casualties, other than a few of my paint pans needing a wash...)

as a fandom i feel like we’re all in agreement on the creature having had some sort of sentience while six feet under, however you wanna interpret that, but nonetheless. he’s a man stuck in an endless purgatory where, as time erodes his unmaintained gravestone, he forgets himself in the same way that the rest of the world does. there’s nothing he can do to stop it, he simply loses his name, the details of his life, only some abstract feelings and skills that still linger in the world like music his distant relatives hum idly but can’t place, and a photo album with a family history that briefly mentions a lover their great great grandmother once had. pieces chip away and are replaced with overgrowth and dirt and bugs and there’s nothing that he can do but hope that when it’s all gone, he’ll disappear too.

until someone above is in bachelors and determined to keep what’s left of him alive. insistent that nobody should experience that fate with a fervor that he guesses is driven by grief before she ever mentions her mother. and then in a blink, he’s alive again and she isn’t, and he’ll be damned if he doesn’t return the favor.

nobody knows why lisa’s tombstone is always spotless. the groundskeepers couldn’t tell you and out of the few people in brookview that do visit her with actual care for who she was outside of the crime spree she was connected to, only taffy seems to notice. it’s meticulously cleaned, in mint condition save for the somewhat-crudely done carving on the base. when she comes back she won’t have lost anything of herself that the fire didn’t take if the creature can help it.

Siegfried reuniting w his daughters was such a rushed scene. With how finding her father was a big part of Kiana's motivation in the early chapters and how badly they left things off, I was expecting a more tearful reunion you know? Like "I'm sorry"s and "I missed you so much"s. Also with Bianka...like she just said some random ass poetic bullshit. If they hadn't told me she was his dauughter before I would NOT have understood it in that scene. Also them just brushing over the fact that the og Kiana is back?? Siegfried reuniting w his daughter who was lost and possibly dead after years and he's just like "yeah cool" like wtf??? The writers of Moon Arc when I catch you..
