one of the most notable internet lingo/phenomenon shifts ive gotten to experience has to be the usage of the word 'kinning'. because most of the time i don't really think about it, but then every now and again i'm just suddenly struck by what a WILDLY different thing it was some years back (pre-2019 maybe?). i remember the intense discourse around the concept (both from non-kinners, about the validity of the concept itself, and among kinners about double-kinning and 'kinnie' being a slur and whatever the hell else it was)

and then suddenly everyone on tiktok was just using it to say 'hey these are characters i relate to a lot!'. and that shift just kinda snuck up, at least on me, and now no one bats an eye if someone says they kin someone. wild

anyways! i love curating my kin list and will be posting it in a while :)))

Anyone remember racefaker tord?!?!?! this is some type of shit you wont even see on icebergs. racefaker tord was a person within the community literally just your average 2018 tumblr tord kinner, not popular or anything like that but was present enough and interacted with enough people that they were recognisable within the community. fine and normal. Then this hugeee fucking gigantic mile long callout post drops making like 50000 accusations against them including racefaking, blackface, systemfaking etc etc etc blah blah blah, i wont be getting into the accusations themselves and whether or not theyre true it was a lot. i believe theyd been 17 at the time the callout dropped and the callout all but doxxed them bc it had like 7 pictures of their irl parents unobscured and theyre like still getting tracked down and stalked and then their little brother got roped into it too which i dont know anything about but it was a huge drama. completely unrelated to eddsworld aside from the fact they kinned tord and went by tord but the eddsworld community was still like 0_o RACEFAKER TORD!?!?!?. Ask anyone whos been here since 2016 about racefaker tord and youll see them freeze up
